Had to share this life hack my mom taught me.
When you're moving (or just wanting to move your furniture), measure your rooms and furniture. Then get yourself some grid paper, draw your rooms to scale, and then cut out pieces for your furniture. It's much easier to move around bits of paper over and over than full size couches and beds to figure out where they'll fit.

Once you're happy with the layout, tape down the pieces. On moving day, you'll know exactly where everything will go, and that it will fit the first time. It's low tech, but it works.
PS: We made little pop-up book foldables for the recliners, so we'd know how much room they'd need to recline, which made us feel pretty smart.
#moving#packing#rearranging furniture#interior design#low tech solutions#life hacks#tips and tricks#advice#you could probably easily do this on a computer#but I've been doing it the low tech way since I was rearranging my bedroom as a teenager#some habits die hard#I was talking to someone and realized not everyone knows to do this#thought it might help someone else#because moving furniture is already a pain#not having to move it twice is preferable#plus you can try every layout possible#and find you actually can fit that desk by the window#useful stuff#interior decorating

Eyes Off
character: Hunter (The Bad Batch)
prompts: “Are you jealous?” “No, I’m not!” “Oh, you really are jealous! Wait, why would you be jealous?” / “Look at me.” / A kiss of jealousy
main masterlist • hunter masterlist
"Of course that's what you're wearing."
Crosshair's unimpressed drawl drew your attention from where you were fastening and concealing your weapons. Considering everyone else had already changed into their civvies, it had to be Hunter that Crosshair was addressing, and one look at the sergeant proved why.
Whereas the rest of the team opted to keep themselves covered in a way that wasn't too unlike their Republic-issued blacks, Hunter didn't shy away from letting his skin breathe. His hands and arms were wrapped up to his elbows, but there was a sizable stretch of skin and muscle leading up to the light-colored sleeveless tunic he wore.
Tech had always ensured that the temperature of the Marauder's interior was regulated, but something had to have been off, because you could've sworn it had just gotten at least ten times hotter.
You were still staring, and Force willing not ogling, as Hunter raised his hands defensively at Crosshair. "What?"
Crosshair scoffed as he shouldered on his pack. He lifted a single eyebrow and flicked his toothpick at his brother. It bounced unceremoniously off one of Hunter's tensed biceps.
The sergeant just smirked in response and shrugged. "I earned 'em." His tone was playful as he lifted his own pack and secured it over his shoulders. "I think I'm entitled to showing 'em off for once."
And thank the Force you did, you would have said if you didn't already have a durasteel lock on your own jaw.
"Ha-ha, yeah!" Wrecker clapped his brother on the shoulder. Hunter rolled it back in response, but nevertheless widened his sly smile as he looked up at Wrecker. "I think ya' look great, Sarge." Wrecker then turned his attention on you, giving your shoulder a nudge with his own. "Right, Sunny?"
You narrowed your eyes at him, but only for a quick moment. Subtlety had never been Wrecker's specialty, and you should have remembered that when you had stayed at 79's until last call with him and spilled out all your secrets. That's what you got for indulging in truth serum for once.
You schooled your expression into nonchalance the best you could and nodded. "Yeah." You lifted your blaster and gave it one last unnecessary check. "It definitely suits you."
Hunter huffed. "I don't even want to know what you mean by that." You snorted in amusement before Hunter refocused and addressed the gathered squad. "We shouldn't be here long, especially since we're dividing and conquering. Tech, Wrecker, you're clear on your objective?"
Tech looked up from his datapad and nodded as he adjusted his goggles. "That is correct."
Wrecker gestured over to Tech with his thumb. "What he said."
Hunter nodded at them both. "Great." He turned to his youngest brother. "Crosshair?"
Crosshair's brow rose once again. "Do you really have to ask?"
Hunter participated in their typical impromptu staring contest for a few heartbeats before he let out a sigh. "I'm taking that as a yes." His attention then shifted to you, and you fought a hard-won battle to not take a visible breath as his dark eyes found yours. "Sunny, you're with me." Hunter motioned for the squad to follow as he stepped towards the open hatch. "Let's move out."
You kept your attention on the way ahead as the squad walked out of the hangar together and through the throngs of sentients that crowded the planet's streets. Eventually, as you and Hunter got closer to your own destination, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair peeled off to attend to their own objectives. You tried not to tense as you kept yourself close to Hunter's side.
"Hmm." Hunter's hum got your attention, and you looked over to see his brow creased the way it often did when he was reaching out with his senses. "It's gonna be crowded in there." He gave you a glance and nodded. "Stay close. We might have to push our way through."
You nodded and obeyed, getting close enough for one of his arms to brush against yours. It was hard to focus with the warmth of his skin meeting yours in endless succession, but you threw your mindset into the mission as the two of you stepped inside the cantina.
As soon as you crossed the threshold, you could feel the eyes on you—only they weren't on you specifically. They were on him.
You could have accredited the lingering stares to the fact that Hunter presented much more like a regular clone than the others, and he may have been getting some undue attention for that, but you could identify the kind of looks he was getting all too well. Gazes flickered up and down, heads did double takes, and some people even giggled with their peers.
You should have found it amusing. The others certainly would have if they were there. Instead, it filled you with a pool of a sickly feeling almost like dread, coiling in your stomach and twisting into an uncomfortable knot.
It was an unmistakable wave of intense jealousy, and you weren't strong enough to fight it.
You were drawing yourself even closer to Hunter's side before you could stop it, your eyes cautiously scanning your surroundings as you did so. Another strong flare of jealousy's angry green haze saw you taking his arm and wrapping your hands around it, securing you to his side as you smiled in satisfaction at the way many of the hungry scares awkwardly flickered away from the two of you.
But your actions didn't go unnoticed by him. Hunter stopped pushing through the crowd long enough to turn his head and look at you with his full attention. "You okay?"
You looked up at him with innocent eyes, and his gaze gestured to the grasp you still had on his arm. You offered him a quick nod. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just..." You glanced around the room again. "A little overwhelmed."
Hunter's warm eyes studied yours as he softened. "I get it. We won't be here long, though, like I said before." He nodded towards the bar. "C'mon. We're almost there."
You went forward with him, selfishly indulging in the feeling of his warmth—and the arm you still had a tight grasp on. You were pleased to note it was just as strong and solid as it had looked.
Once Hunter had successfully maneuvered your way to the bar and had made enough room for the two of you there, you reluctantly let go of his arm and simply stood at his side. Your arms were still brushing at the close proximity, your focus was still going to any wandering eyes that caught sight of him.
You should have been focused on the objective and helping Hunter get information out of the bartender, but you had other priorities. Like Hunter had insinuated before, he had worn what he was wearing for a reason. Did that mean he wanted one of these people to approach him?
The thought alone made you sick. It shouldn't have, because you weren't his and he wasn't yours, but that didn't matter.
"You sure you're okay?"
Hunter's low voice of concern brought your attention back to him. You glanced over to see him furrowing his brow at you.
"You seem on edge."
You shrugged and looked past the sergeant, seeing someone just behind him staring holes through his back. You fought back a growl and forced yourself to answer normally. "I'm just seeing a lot of eyes on you." You blinked and quickly rushed to correct yourself. "Us."
But the damage had already been done. One of Hunter's eyebrows shot up in suspicion as he continued to look at you. "That's nothing new, especially not for me."
You circled your jaw. "Yeah, but..." Your gaze flickered over him before you could stop it. "It's different this time."
Hunter looked ahead, his expression taut as he pondered something, and then you saw his dark eyes light up with realization. You winced quietly before he even had the chance to speak.
"Wait." He looked over at you again, the small pieces of hair that escaped his bandana bouncing on his forehead as the corners of his lips rose in a small smile. "Are you jealous?"
You forced out a scoff and began to flounder. "No, I’m not!" You looked down, your gaze searching. "I-I'm just..."
It was too late. You were too flustered to think of a viable excuse, and your ears and face were burning so hot that you were half-convinced Hunter's senses had already picked up on the temperature change.
"Oh, you really are jealous." Hunter said the words with a chuckle, and his bare shoulder playfully nudged yours.
You fought off the sudden waves of embarrassment valiantly and looked anywhere but at him. He was clearly still joking, and you were stuck between playing it off again or at least wanting him to put the pieces together. This one-sided thing you had going on was getting too exhausting.
That made his next words even less of a surprise than they probably should have been. "Wait... why would you be jealous?"
Your gaze flickered over to meet Hunter's, but you looked away from him just as quickly. Your stare focused on your fingers as they picked at the skin around your nails. This was not a conversation you wanted to have here, especially not when he was looking like that.
"Hey." Hunter's voice was achingly soft now as he set a gentle hand on your shoulder. "Look at me."
You relented, your guilty gaze finding his—which was full of comfort and, surprisingly, understanding. Your brow knit together, though the knot in your stomach began to loosen when Hunter's hand suddenly moved from your shoulder to the one you had closest to him on the bar. His stare lowered and watched as his wrapped hand wove his fingers through yours and gave your own hand a soft squeeze.
Hunter looked at you again, and he gave you a reassuring nod. "You have nothing to worry about."
All you could do was blink at him, any words you could have possibly wanted to say dying on your tongue. You were trying to read him and make sure you weren't misinterpreting the signals he was sending you. Was he saying that because he had requited feelings, or just to assure you that he wasn't looking for anything from anyone?
Hunter huffed and gave his head a fond shake. "You've been noticing the eyes on me, and I..." He paused, his jaw tightened as he narrowed his eyes at something behind you. "Have been tracking the eyes on you."
Your eyes widened in surprise. You must have been so wrapped up in your jealousy towards Hunter that you failed to notice how people had been looking at you, too. Your civvies did hug your body in a way your typical tactical gear didn't...
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" You had no choice but to ask. You couldn't live with the anticipation anymore.
Hunter nodded and looked at your entwined hands again. He gave yours another squeeze. "The feeling's mutual."
You couldn't keep the smile from growing on your lips. Honestly, you should have known better, but reason and feelings never paired well together, anyway. All you could do was let out a soft laugh as you also looked down at your hands.
"What do you think?"
When Hunter spoke again, you looked up, suddenly realizing how much closer the two of you had gotten. Hunter clocked the minimized distance, too, his warm gaze flickering to your lips before he went on.
"Should we give them something else to stare at?"
You hummed, pretending to have to consider the offer even as your traitorous body already started to lean closer. "I think that's a good plan, Sarge."
Hunter chuckled, though the warmth that sound brought you was nothing compared to the feeling of his lips on yours.
You inhaled one another like it was your first full breath of oxygen, with Hunter's free hand catching the side of your face and jaw to keep you locked in place. Meanwhile, your free hand rose to his bicep, anchoring yourself to him as each breath passed between you and each tease of his tongue threatened to make your knees buckle underneath you. It was utterly dizzying, and it made you completely forget about everything and everyone else around you, for better or for worse.
When you parted, Hunter was quick to clock the sight of your hand on his arm. His lips gave way to a sly smile, and your brow shot up as you mused upon his words from earlier.
"This is what you wanted all along, isn't it?" You shook your head at him in fondness. "I was the person you were 'showing 'em off' for."
Hunter shrugged, playing innocent for now. "Maybe, maybe not."
You scoffed. "Do we even have a real objective here?"
"Well, we did." He gave your hand another squeeze. "But we just completed it."
You gave your eyes a roll. "Force, Hunter..."
"The others' objectives are real, though."
You couldn't help laughing at that. Leave it to the sergeant of the Bad Batch to use an actual mission as a way to somehow get you both to finally break the ice. "And the bartender?" You nodded towards the nearest one. "You just made that up?"
"Not really." Hunter's smirk remained as he caught the bartender's eye. "I do need to talk to them... to get us some drinks."
You blinked at him before you laughed even harder. You shifted your hand onto the arm closest to you and rested your head against his bare shoulder the best you could manage, relishing in the wave of content that rolled over you.
It was an unconventional way for your mutual feelings to surface, but that was just who Hunter was, and you couldn't hide the way you loved it.

Well it is definitely being a real fifth of Wednesday.
The HVAC started leaking again and as I told the company when I called, "The trickle has become a flood" -- my bathroom rug and the pad underneath it were soaked by the time I found out, and essentially I can't run the A/C for more than about half an hour without the leak starting up again (it's condensate that's somehow not draining properly).
There are actually three leaks -- two of which are physical faults. The drainage pipe is cracked where it connects to the unit, so it's dripping, which is not actually a huge issue because I can just put a pan under it, but it will need to have the part changed out.

The real problem is the other two leaks -- one from just above the filter rack, one from a gap in the weld below the filter rack. Those are an issue because you can't "catch" the water, it's running down the housing and onto the floor.
I did manage to rig up a solution until the tech can come out -- it turns out using packing tape to secure a sheet of plastic (cut up trash bag) to the housing actually works really well to channel the water off the housing and into the pan. (See the vertical seam in the metal next to the "HOT" label? Water's coming out the bottom of that, as well as out of the interior of the unit into the gap just above the HOT label.)

So at least the water's now going mostly into a pan and not onto the floor, and I don't have to change out towels every few hours, since I only have three towels to start with and no in-unit dryer.
The bathroom reeks right now, which I think is mainly down to the bathroom rug being draped over a chair in the shower with a fan going on it to dry it out. But at least most of the condo doesn't smell, and I can run the A/C without flooding the bathroom, so, small victories.
Dearborn has been watching from her favorite perch, on a sweater storage bag in the hall closet, and is Very Unimpressed.

This is I11: Needle (1987), a reworked tournament module by Frank Mentzer. It features pregenerated characters named the Ghost, Blaze, Finder, Blondy, Slim and Smiley. There is at least one stealth Star Wars quote. The players need to go into a jungle to get a weird obelisk, haul the thing back, then explore the moon the obelisk teleports them too. The first part is a pretty typical hex crawl, albeit punctuated with puzzles and high strangeness. The third part is a dungeon crawl. The dungeon crawl sure is odd (it ends with a confrontation with “Tiamat” and no, I am not going to explain that further) but it is the middle part that I think is the most interesting.
The middle part is the hauling of the obelisk back to the king who wanted it found (its not an obelisk, its actually a gigantic piece of tech). This is sort of a nightmare logistical puzzle, involving lots of NPCs sailing to the obelisk, taking it down, packing it up and hauling it back. Things need to be built. Like roads. And a raft (the thing is hollow and will float). That means lumber. Which means upsetting the natives, who are bullywugs and grippli, locked in rivalry with each other. The whole thing plays out across two months of daily events, which feels like a novel sort of slog. I’d definitely enjoy playing this — there are all sorts of opportunities for things to just go entirely off the rails.
Clyde Caldwell cover art. I don’t love it, but I honestly think that is because it was recycled for the 2E Rogues Gallery, a book I loathe. The interiors are by Doug Chaffee, who I don’t know. They feel like run of the mill late-‘80s D&D illustrations.

Here's How Shrimp Trooper Theory Can Still Win
This is as fringe as it gets folks.
I've done my very serious Tech lives essay now it's time for my actual wild theory. Plus @katara-stan-club wanted the shrimp trooper essay and I will take any opportunity to yammer. Please don't take this extremely seriously as it is just something that I'm spinning up for entertainment and is almost certainly not true. (Unless!)
So the opening to Confined is... Odd to me. I've mentioned this in a post before but just to recap, it is definitely the odd man out of the three season starters.
Season one of course we intro with Caleb, who then leads us directly to meet the batch and get our first character appearances, along with convenient introductions. A fun, action packed little scene before things immediately go to hell.
Season two we intro with the batch in the middle of a job, which gives us another fun action scene that shows us how much Omega has grown, as well as the current status of the batch itself.
Season three though? Season three starts us off with a ship going down in a lightning storm and all the stormtroopers inside assumed to be eaten by the giant monsters that lurk in Tantiss' jungles. (Going by Omega's tally marks later in the episode, we're about 20 days post plan 99.) Nothing to do with the batch at all, though we do get a glance at what's in the jungle, and a tiny bit more of Hemlock being a bastard of course.
Now, seemingly, this scene is the set up for episode three, when they make their escape and head for the downed ship.
Except it's completely unnecessary. When they get to the ship, it turns on but it's incapable of flight and the comms are still down and non functioning. The ship they end up taking and using to escape is the ship that came in pursuit of them. The plot would have gone down exactly the same if they had just picked a direction and fled without the downed ship. It's a complete red herring for how they ultimately end up escaping.
So why is it important enough to open the season on if the ship essentially functions as nothing more than a destination point?
Enter Shrimp Trooper Theory.

Going back to the stormtroopers. We have four of them inside the ship, the pilot and three others. We're going to be focusing on our boy on the far right of the second picture.
The pilot speaks before the ship goes down so we can confirm he's a rando. Our fellow in the middle speaks next, identifying himself as TK-343, another rando. The one on the far left talks about wild beasts proving himself, you guessed it, a third rando. But our boy on the far right doesn't talk at all through this whole scene, leaving his identity up in the air.
So we'll take a closer look at him and brighten the scene up a bit.
Now, seeing this guy hobble his way out of the ship, I thought that he looked somewhat familiar. Specifically.
That shitty ass posture. (Forgive the sloppiness of the edit I did this comparison once before and I am not remaking it)
We do not actually see the troopers all get eaten, we cut to the interior of Tantiss before it happens. Theoretically there is nothing stopping this shrimp shaped man from being Tech.
The timeline of shrimp trooper theory:
Tech falls from the rail car and manages to survive the landing but he's severely injured. He crawls away/gets scraped off the ground by Saw.
Roughly 3 weeks pass in which he is recovering and healing yet unable to comm out as, per episode 4 of season 3, Imperial planets monitor long range communications. But, he is able to gather information from the flights going in and out of Eriadu to determine which ones are being assigned to Hemlock's secretive lab. Once he is able to confirm this, he steals some stormtrooper armor and boards.
Ship goes down because gravity hates him in particular and he is almost eaten by a Beast.
Now stranded in the jungle on Tantiss, Tech finds his infiltration plan foiled by the fact that he is being continually hounded by even more Beasts.
Several months later, Batcher is released and for some reason goes straight for the wrecked ship. Somehow she survives out here, but we're not sure how - potentially she had help?
Tech IS the mystery clone X that we see but rather than being brainwashed he has finally managed to get inside Tantiss and yet again begins to Steal Clothing from others.
Crosshair and Omega immediately break out without him leaving him stranded in Tantiss where he presumably still is, attempting to avoid detection and continue to gather information that will aid in the eventual liberation of the other clones.
Is this unlikely? Yes! Is it overly complicated? Absolutely! Am I endlessly entertained by it anyway? You bet!
Benefits of Shrimp Trooper Theory include, but are not limited to:
A living, non brainwashed Tech! The most important feature one could have!
An extremely ridiculous Only In Star Wars series of events!
Retroactive explanation for why the ship going down was an important scene to start on.
Hemlock ruining his own life by not sending someone out to recover the team and just assuming they'd totally be taken care of by the wildlife.
More giant monsters than Wrecker could shake a stick at.
The possibility of Tech and Batcher offscreen shenanigans.
Tech thinking he's finally found Crosshair and making plans to retrieve him when, SURPRISE, OMEGA'S HERE TOO AND THEY'RE ESCAPING. RIGHT NOW.
Seriously just imagine the epic sigh Tech would let out as they flew away completely unaware of his presence. His life is a series of difficulties.
He can simply turn up with the coordinates to Tantiss because god knows how else they're going to manage to get them.
This is my conspiracy theory that I'm allowing myself to believe in as a treat. It will almost certainly not be what occurs but the thought of it makes me happy.

Robot boyfriend fluff
Adrien was the best birthday present you had ever gotten in your life.
You had decided on the name. When he first arrived home in his seven foot tall box, he was XR-70159.
“His name should be Robby,” your twelve year old said. “Y’know, like Robby Robot.”
“I’m proud of you for knowing the classics,” you told him. “But it’s my gift, so I’m naming him.”
“I wanna name him carrot!” Your five year old screeched and let out a string of giggles.
“You’re so dumb,” your preteen sighed.
“Hey, Carter, please be nice,” you said, giving him a stern look. “Your sister’s just expressing herself.”
“Sorry,” he mumbled. “So what are you gonna name him then?”
You smiled. “Adrien.”
Carter pulled a face, his tongue out as he mimed vomiting. “Like Adrien Brody? That gross, old, weird, dead Hollywood guy you crush on?”
“Yep,” you said, unashamed, and you popped the vinyl straps holding the two halves of the box together. “Now get your mean little tail over here and help me out.”
With one on each side of it, the two of you slid the top off and let it clatter to the floor as you regarded the newest member of your household: a robotic assistant, six foot eight and made of some amazing new metal you didn’t understand but were grateful for. It was scratch proof, rust proof, dent proof, and shined like a freshly polished dinner spoon in an aristocrats house.
And that was good enough for you.
“Turn it on, turn it on, turn it on!” Emma, your youngest, cried as she tugged on the hem on your shirt. She bounced on her toes and sent your aging shitzu, who was already skittish from the delivery, running for the hills.
“I’m on it, Em,” you said, skimming the instruction booklet that was nestled in the foam of the interior packing. “Okay, so I just…press here and hold.”
You put your palm square in the middle of the robot’s chest plate and kept it still.
Five whole Mississippi’s passed, silent and heavy with anticipation, and the robot opened it’s mechanical eyes.
They were a warm, comforting brown with flecks of gold. Your cousin, the developer of this product and the one who had gifted it to you, had funneled a lot of time and money into the construction of the eyes.
“To humanize it,” they had explained back when this project was still just a dream. “We want our clients to be comfortable, after all. It should be like talking to a human in a very, very realistic robot costume.”
The effort had paid off. A part of you had expected to be creeped out by your gift, but the eyes touched the part of your brain that was still swinging through the trees and told you this creature was safe, a friend.
“Good afternoon, family,” the robot said, and extended a hand to each of you one by one for a shake.
“Whoa, it knows what time it is straight out of the box,” Carter said with awe.
“Hi, Adrien,” you said and those brown eyes blinked. “Welcome to our home.”
“Adrien,” he echoed. “Is this the name you would like to apply to me?”
“Um, yes,” you said, suddenly feeling very presumptive.
But he smiled, that miracle metal moving like flesh, and said, “What a wonderful name. If you’d like to change it later, just ask me. Would you like to do a quick setup, a custom setup, or use the manufacturer’s default settings?”
“A quick setup,” you replied. It was the best option for the average tech user, your cousin had said.
“Great, let’s get started,” Adrien said, and he turned to your son. “What’s your name?”
“Carter,” he said, speaking clearly. Next to him, Emma was already giggling behind her hands.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Carter,” he said, and he squatted down to your daughter’s level. “What’s your name?”
“Smellerbee!” She declared loud and proud, dissolving into snorting laughs.
Adrien looked over to you and you swore that the expression on his face was human.
“Kids, eh?” It seemed to say.
“Her name is Emma,” you said.
He turned back to Emma and gave her hair a gentle ruffle. “It’s nice to meet you Smellerbee,” he said with a wink.
He rose to his full height and addressed you next. “What would you like for me to call you, Primary User?”
And you told him your name
One of first tasks your helper was assigned to was dinner, working alongside you in the kitchen.
He worked with the precision and speed of the best chef in a top five star restaurant, dicing shallots and chopping herbs nearly quicker than you could blink.
Already Adrien was proving himself to be an indispensable part of your life. The kids’ lunches for the week were already packed; fresh sandwiches artfully made and stored so the bread wouldn’t get soggy and the lettuce wouldn’t wilt. The dog had been walked and even had its paws cleaned before coming inside. And now, dinner was set to be done in half the time it usually took.
Life was good. Adrien was good.
You were in the middle of straining pasta when a crash rang out through the house. From somewhere in the playroom the awful squalling came and your heart plummeted. You dropped the cooking pot in the sink, the task all at once unimportant at the sound of your daughter in distress.
But before you could move another muscle, Adrien abandoned his prepping and went straight for the scene of the chaos, a man on a mission. Soon after, you heard her voice carry down the hallway as she sobbed about her misfortune to him.
“It broke!” She wailed. “My ladder broke!”
You sighed to yourself. The ladders again.
You snatched a dish towel from the counter, drying off the places on your shirt where the pasta water had splashed. Going down the hallway, you knew exactly what you would say to her.
“Emma, you know that Lego ladders are for toys only!” You would say to her, just as you had a thousand times over by now. But first you had to calm her down. It would do no good if she was too busy crying to hear you.
But by the time you reached the midpoint between your kitchen and the playroom, the blubbering stopped. You froze for half a moment but then picked up your pace to close the remaining distance.
What you saw made your eyes mist over with sentimental tears.
Adrien was cross legged on the ground, surrounded by scattered Legos and assorted dolls. Emma sat in his lap with her eyes closed and her face against his chest plate, the metal glowing soft colors that blended and swirled like celestial lights. One mechanical hand rubbed at her back, and he was singing to her.
“East side, West side, all around the town,
The tots sing ring-a-rosie,
London Bridge is falling down.
Boys and girls together, me and Mamie O’Rourke
Trip the light fantastic
On the sidewalks of New York.”
He looked to you, a placid smile on his face.
“She’s fine, not to worry,” he said. “Just a little bump.”
“Thank you, Adrien. I’ll take this from here and I’ll meet you back in the kitchen. Alright, come on sweetie,” you said, crossing the room to pick her up from his lap and set her on the daybed. “Now, let’s talk about Legos again…”
Two weeks later you had what you sincerely believed to be the shittiest day ever. It began with a malfunctioning part on your engine, though you couldn’t say for sure which one. All you really knew about it was that it was expensive to fix. It made the kids late for school, it made you late for work, and that was just your morning.
The afternoon held more miseries: an email informing you that Carter’s band trip would run you out even more money than you had anticipated, the office gossip spreading a bogus rumor about your relationship with another coworker (which prompted a message from HR, as if you were the problem here), and the cafeteria was fresh out of your favorite noodles.
Your troubles didn’t even end when you clocked out. Carter was in a foul mood when you picked him up from school and his mood spread to Emma like an insidious virus. All they did was squabble and bicker the whole evening through.
And then…
“I hate you, I hate you, I hate yooouuuu!”
Those were the last words your lovely, precious little daughter said to you that day. And all you had done was insist that she brush her teeth. But that was all over now. At least you could say that.
Sitting on the sofa with a thousand yard stare and a glass of wine in your hand, you did your best to stop thinking about the shitshow that had been the last sixteen hours. No amount of sulking would change all that occurred today. It would only serve to ruin the moment of peace you had found at the end of it all. And tomorrow would be different, you had to believe that. Tomorrow you wouldn’t have to deal with a temperamental engine. Tomorrow you would confront the dreaded gossip loud enough for the break room to hear that her rumors were all bunk. Tomorrow the kids would be back to their normal, wonderful selves.
Tomorrow would be -
Hack, hack, hack, hork!
Your face fell at the sound, one you knew quite well indeed.
The dog had barfed somewhere down the hallway. And that broke the dam.
Setting your glass on the coffee table, you put your face in your hands and cried like a child.
“I’ll attend to the mess,” Adrien’s voice came from beside you, startling you enough for your tears to stop as his metal hand rested on your shoulder.
“Alright. Thank you, Adrien,” you said, sniffling and wiping at your tear-tracked face with the hem of your sleeve. To your surprise, he grabbed your wrist to stop your movements.
“But first…” the robot plucked a tissue from its decorative box, inches from the wine glass. Your breath hitched as he dabbed your tears away. When he was finished, he pulled you gently to his chest plate. It was swirling with the same soft colors you had seen when he had comforted Emma in the playroom, and so wonderfully warm.
You rested your cheek against the cozy surface, your arms going around his waist reflexively. He held you back, rubbing his hand in circles at the middle of your back as he sang.
“East side, West side, all around the town…”

PR Ship as parents
1.)Hunter/Dustin

Who’s the Mother Figure: Dustin
Who’s the Father Figure: Hunter
Who’s stricter: it’s 50/50
Describe the kids/household: Two kids, the daughter is the oldest, and the son is the youngest. House is interesting, it’s built into a huge mountain range with ninja based interior for running, the kids are rather mundane so Dustin tries to get them out of their shells while Hunter tries to keep them from becoming iPad kids, and goes for Tori/Blake as well…DS and video games are fine but you’ll not catch any of the Bradley bros raising no children with some Cocomelon shit ☠️☠️☠️
2.)RJ/Casey

Who's the Mother Figure: Casey
Who's the Father Figure: RJ
Who's stricter: Casey, only cause of his past home life, wants to keep them safe but eases up whenever RJ or the others convince him.
Describe the kids/household: two rabid twins(one boy and one girl) and one older daughter they adopted after the two. The house is huge but sometimes it feels as if the two are fighting for their lives getting everyone assorted. RJ is very optimistic but tries to destress whenever everyone else falls asleep while Casey is losing it, Jarrod and Camille are the only ones allowed to babysit, and Finn as well.
3.)Izzy/Fern

Who's the Mother Figure: Izzy
Who's the Father Figure: Fern
Who's stricter: none
Describe the kids/household: Four kids, two boys and two girls. A little crazy but they manage. They live in four different houses with the kids wanting to alternate each week for some reason, they have a van but not cause of the huge family but instead cause they just like to travel in a pack anywhere they go. Izzy and Fern never have to worry about stress since the kids seem to be very independent, though that doesn’t stop Uncle Javi from trashing the place when he gets them hyper on marshmallows…two houses nearly burned down when one of the boys ran around with a torched twig.

Cthulhu Dreamt is a sci-fi horror Tabletop RPG and Original Soundtrack where you and your team of Survivors will explore a near-future Earth that is suffering under the influence of Cthulhu and his cosmic denizens. Using your talents, special tech from the secret government agency Salien-Welf, and even the tools of the old ones, you must rescue one of the few scientists who can help...
WILL YOU ANSWER THE CALL?
Horror, Science Fiction, and Cthulhu lovers will delight at the semi-futuristic approach to the mythos, and modern take towards the gameplay-focused storytelling.
Immersion is taken to new depths when the original soundtrack is brought into the mix, with cinematic tracks, metal music, and ambient soundscapes made specifically to score the campaign.
Set on a near-future Earth, this project offers a fresh take on Cthulhu by imagining the horror occurring in our world with the technology of the year 2034. Players will journey across the world, attempting a rescue mission unlike any other, trying to circumvent the abominations in their way, as the reality of their world unravels before their eyes.
Based on an original D12 ruleset (designed by Adam Baffoni, creator of the Tether RPG) with an emphasis on travel and survival, characters (and players) will have to work together to survive against not only the horrifying otherworldly creatures, but also the harsh environments of the Earth... and beyond.
The game features a custom soundtrack, with songs composed specifically for scenes in the main campaign of the book. Facilitators will be able to scan QR codes present in the book to play original songs composed specifically to highlight cinematic moments from the campaign.

Encounters are adventures that happen concurrently with the main campaign of Cthulhu Dreamt, but elsewhere in the world. They serve as one-shots for your group, complete with pre-written characters who have their own goals and motivations to immerse yourself in. We’ve created two especially for the Kickstarter.
Springfield Nocturne: This encounter is a perfect entry point into the world of Cthulhu Dreamt. It’s a two-shot set in a mid-western city undergoing a mysterious state of emergency, where players will need to get to the bottom of why Salien-Welf have begun evacuating citizens—if they can survive long enough to find out.
R’lyehian March: Wanna know what the team of EDGe troopers went through when Cthulhu finally awoke? Then this encounter is for you. Set on the island of R’lyeh before the events of the main campaign, this action-packed prequel story includes a party of pre-written EDGe Trooper characters working for Salien-Welf and dealing with the events that kick-off the main campaign.
Basics
Cthulhu Dreamt is built on a unique D12-based system originally designed by Adam Baffoni. Cthulhu Dreamt’s focus is primarily on travel and survival, where the players are more at odds with the world itself than with any wizards or dragons. Players roll against a target number (TN) to accomplish tasks; if they fail to meet that TN, they have the option to spend their attribute points like a resource (provided they can justify it narratively). For example, if a player wants to smash open a door and they don’t roll high enough, they can spend some Strong points to REALLY put their back into it. Players will need to be careful not to overspend these point pools, because once they’ve depleted them, they won’t be able to modify any of their rolls until they refresh the points by resting for the night.
Journeying
The Journey mechanic in Cthulhu Dreamt allows for players to cross great distances actively, rather than passively. Instead of happening in the blink of an eye, travel involves players selecting roles and narrating what they’ll do during their journey, assembling shelter, foraging for food, and overcoming obstacles cooperatively along the way. Travel also presents perfect road trip style roleplay opportunities for the players to grow closer and discuss the chaos of the world once it’s been upturned by Cthulhu’s awakening.
Combat
Combat in Cthulhu Dreamt is taken in rounds, with the players and NPCs alternating their actions back and forth—but that’s where similarities between Cthulhu Dreamt and other conventional TTRPGs end. Rather than enemies having health bars that players wail on over and over until it's depleted, Cthulhu Dreamt’s combat plays out more like a puzzle (that’s trying to kill you). Enemies still have a physical limit, but they can be defeated in a number of ways, and enemies are typically designed with unique facets that make each encounter feel fresh, keeping the players on their toes. Some creatures can be subdued through traditional means, but most will require the players to get creative and think outside of the box to defeat them.
Facilitating
Cthulhu Dreamt uses a system where the Facilitator can roll dice infrequently, instead focusing their attention on building creative outcomes for player characters, running a believable and engaging narrative world, and creating a more in-depth and welcoming experience for everyone at the table. Additionally, thanks to the incorporated soundtrack, Facilitators are equipped to build immersive scenes with music and ambient soundscapes during gameplay.
The Cthulhu Dreamt game book also includes several one-shot scenarios with pregenerated characters, fully written out and ready to play. These one-shot scenarios give Facilitators the ability to still run a Cthulhu Dreamt game night, even if a player cancels last minute.
There are many unique aspects to the version of Earth found within Cthulhu Dreamt: Unique characters which you’ll interact with, and horrific abominations which you’ll face off against. Cthulhu’s presence on Earth has had far-reaching effects, and they’re felt in every corner of the world… and every corner of your mind.
NPCs - From brilliant, planet-altering scientists, to people caught in the wake of these changes, NPC’s like Sheena, Simon, and Alya bring a knowledge of the world, and drive the players to achieve things that might feel impossible.
EDGe Troopers - The EDGe Troopers are the private military owned, operated, and outfitted by the world’s biggest biotech conglomerate, Salien-Welf. Trained in both military and ritualistic combat tactics, the troopers sometimes feel like the only thing holding the line between us and the all-consuming maw of the unknowable. But sometimes, holding that line puts them between the players and their goals, so the troopers are just as likely to be friends as they are foes.
TRACEs - When another plane of existence aligns with Earth, weird and dangerous things happen, and life as we know it can change. Not only will we see new plantlife, and other landscape features that weren’t there before, but we’ll soon find out that we are no longer the only life in this universe.
Specializations - The base game for Cthulhu Dreamt offers 10 different playable Specialties—effectively, backgrounds for the character you will create which translate to skills and abilities in the game. Examples include:

Mass Effect 2 replay, recruiting Tali:
Illium
-Salarian reproductive contracts are interesting. Good call on Bioware’s part that an asexual species would be pragmatic in reproduction. Of course it’s centered around politics.
-With that said, why did the salarian have his family’s reproduction information in Nassana’s building anyway?
He said that he had just had it restored after a tech attack. Nassan’s buildings are under construction, so I presume the restore did not occur there.
Ergo, he was most likely a worker for Nassana. Considering that the data is vital to his family, why did he take it to work???
-Seryna’s moved on, but left behind a message for you. What’s odd is that the option to delete the message is on the left side of the dialogue wheel, but listening to it is on the right.
The left side of the dialogue wheel is normally for extending conversations. So why have delete on the left?
For that matter, why have the option to delete it at all? Why not just have the option be to listen to it or not?
-Also, this message just once again makes Nassana’s death sound personal to Seryna. Why does Seryna hate her so much? This hatred is too intense for your average shitty boss.
It feels like Seryna’s role was initially different, and the rewrite is why so much around her is odd.
Haestrom
-Going by the planet description, the quarians specifically settled this world to observe the odd behavior of its sun.
So I take it that quarians have always been scientifically inclined. They didn’t just observe it via ships, they settled an entire colony. Not a small investment.
-This is the only quarian architecture we see in the series, and it’s a massive disappointment. It’s just numerous concrete buildings. No interesting shapes, no decorative art, no unique interiors.
Unless the takeway is supposed to be that the quarians are a strictly utilitarian species, this is missed opportunity.
Bioware, please at least try.
-It’s interesting to consider this mission from the geth perspective. They presumably don’t know why the quarians are here, and probably assume they’re scouting the world with plans to retake it. So the geth’s actions are defensive – they’re protecting their home from invaders.
Except, why Haestrom? It’s said repeatedly that Haestrom is deep in geth space. The geth must be so baffled – why are the quarians here and not making a grab at one of the outer worlds or Rannoch?
Then Shepard shows up. Shepard, who Legion is supposed to be keeping an eye on. What is that independent platform doing??? Why didn’t they warn the geth collective that Shepard was coming?
And, well, the geth don’t want to kill Shepard because Shepard is opposed to the Old Machines, but like every organic ever Shepard is shooting them so they need to take Shepard out to defend themselves.
Except, oops, that didn’t work.
And then… the quarians and Shepard pack up and leave.
Do the geth ever learn why the quarians were there? Do they send reinforcements to Haestrom expecting the quarians to make an attempt to retake it?
The geth already consider organics baffling. I’m sure this did not help.
-When you first speak to Kal’Reegar, the renegade subtitles don’t match the spoken dialogue. What caused that difference?
-The geth dragging itself along the floor when you make it past the pillar is sad. And no one even mentions it.
I’m assuming that there are servers on Haestrom so none of the geth truly “die”, but that was still a pitiful sight.
-Why are Tali’s journals scattered all over the place?
Yes, this area was quarian’s base but these logs seem like something that would be stored on omni-tool. Instead Tali’s just… leaving laptops scattered around for no explicable reason. Why does she have multiple laptops?
And they’re not set to autolock after a period of inactivity. Considering that this is a geth-controlled world, you’d think all the tech devices would be set as secure as possible. Maybe to auto wipe if there are too many failed access attempts.
I take it all back. Clearly, the geth learned what was up by just listening to the logs on these laptops.
-Tali specifically asks Shepard to keep “Reegar” alive. Not Kal’Reegar, Reegar.
The two must be close. I would have liked them to get together if you don’t romance Tali.
-And here’s yet another mention of dark energy. It’s destabilizing the world’s sun.
If ME3 had done anything with dark energy, this would have been fantastic foreshadowing.
Instead, it’s one of the most frequently mentioned dropped plot threads I hear about for the series.
Another prime example of how ME3 chose to make ME2 irrelevant. ME2 provided plenty of plot hooks for ME3 – ME3 just disregarded all of it.
Normandy
-Tali assumed Shepard was undercover and is upset to learn they’re not.
Me too, Tali. Would it have killed Bioware to have that as option? Meet Anderson, he tells you to stick with Cerberus and report to him on all you learn?
-She also mentions the experiments Cerberus did with the thorian creepers rachni.
That is such a relief to hear. The first part of ME2 is full of Cerberus apologism, but the cracks start to show the further you go in the game.
Unfortunately, that apologism is so extended (and out of character for many Shepards!) that this criticism comes too late for me to ever feel comfortable when I start another ME2 playthrough.
-If you go paragon, Shepard says they want Tali because Tali is not Cerberus – they want someone they can trust.
This is similar to what they tell Garrus when Garrus is recruited. Shepard is much less comfortable with Cerberus than they let on at the start of the game.
-Jacob’s actually pretty professional through this exchange. Tali makes it very clear she does not like Cerberus, and Jacob acknowledges that she has reason not to and hopes that will change with time. If you go paragon, he offers to get her access to the ship systems.
The infamous exchange when he tells her to introduce herself to Edi does not come off as malicious to me. It’s said in the same tone that he says everything else, and Tali should know the ship has an AI before she leaves. Given the history of quarians with AI, that’s something Shepard should have told her before she agreed to the mission.
For comparison, Jacob can do malice – he was intentionally insulting to Thane when he said he doesn’t trust mercenaries. At worst, his comment to Tali about Edi was thoughtless in its delivery.
Normandy
-The quarian Admiral Board emails Shepard to let them know Tali has officially transferred to their command.
They note that as Shepard is Tali’s former captain, they may have significant influence over her.
Good to see at least one organization in Mass Effect acknowledge the concept of power imbalances.
-Another use of the “just like old times” line comes from Joker. I did not realize just how many times this phrase was used in the series.
Joker: It’s great to see Tali onboard, commander. Just like old times.
-Thane made his first kill at 12. That’s fucked up.
The drell live into their 80s, so I’m assuming their 12 is comparable to a human 12.
As much as Thane says the hanar valued him as a person as well as an investment, they did not value him enough. The compact’s been in place for two centuries; they can’t be so hard up on personnel that they need a 12 year old to go out killing.
And if they are so hard up – maybe the hanar should reconsider what they’re asking from the drell? If what they’re asking is reasonable, why can they find so few drell willing to give it?
-Supposedly anyone can refuse to serve the hanar as part of the compact.
However, Thane started his training at six. Can a six year old really consent?
You can say his parents consented for him. Fine. However, Thane made his first kill at twelve.
Can a twelve year old consent? Is becoming a murderer something your parent can consent to on your behalf?
There was some abuse going on. Only question is if this particular hanar was shady or if it’s institutional.
-Thane emphasizes that the hanar are at a disadvantage because they’re aquatic.
On the surface, that makes sense. The other sapient species are land animals, so the hanar are quite literally fish out of water in society.
However, you know what other space faring species is aquatic?
The leviathans. And they ruled the galaxy for a damn long time. So how did they pull it off, and what do they have that the hanar don’t?
Well, besides some form of indoctrination… I’ll give that to the hanar, mind control is a huge advantage.
Still, the hanar could probably take some lessons from the leviathans on how to get by.
-Tali repeats what’s said frequently through her recruitment mission: Getting the data was a huge sacrifice, and it had better be worth it.
And it’s a damn shame, because in game it’s not. The data makes no difference at all. You don’t even get war assets from it.
This was such a huge missed opportunity in ME3.
-The first investigate option with Tali is to explain what the admiralty board is. It mentions that they deal with major crimes, like treason.
Good to see Bioware laying the groundwork for Tali’s loyalty mission early, if a bit clunkily. ME3, take notes. Foreshadowing is good!
-Love Tali calling bullshit if Shepard says Cerberus is working for them. Explain those listening devices and tracking beacons, then!
Tali has a zero tolerance policy for Cerberus, and she has my full support.
-We finally get some background on the quarian/Cerberus beef, and it is woefully insufficient. And probably long after most players have forgotten it was ever mentioned.
I maintain they could have added a Codex entry for a more detailed explanation.
-If you go paragon, Shepard says they expect Cerberus to betray them. If you go neutral or renegade, Tali warns you that Cerberus will betray you.
The writers upped their game with Tali. Everyone else is getting character focused writing, but Tali’s out here with character AND plot development in her dialogue.
-If you go renegade with Grunt, you can skip getting his loyalty mission entirely. Interesting – if I recall correctly, doing so with others still gives you the mission.
-Prior to puberty, Grunt enjoyed violence but did not feel the need for it.
Now that he’s hit puberty, he apparently craves it.
And krogans… never lose that. They just learn to direct it. However, older krogan generally seem far more chill.
If this is triggered by puberty, I like to think that it’s hormonally driven. Krogan hormones go wild in puberty, and it makes them excessively violent. As their hormones settle down, they mellow out.
-Krogans don’t trust doctors after the genophage.
Reasonable. Look at what Mordin gets up to. If that were my experience with doctors, I’d let them know the bare minimum too.
Although realistically speaking, the salarians undoubtedly have all the information they learned prior to the krogan rebellions backed up in multiple locations.
-If you go neutral, Grunt says that the krogan doctors don’t leave Tuchanka.
Again, reasonable. Still, given that most krogans offworld are mercenaries, I’m sure krogan doctors offworld could find employment.
Codex:
-The fate of the drell’s homeworld Rakhana has obvious parallels to Earth. Industrialization led to environment issues which eventually resulted in it being unable to support the drell.
When you speak to Thane, he implies that humanity was close to the same fate, but since they achieved spaceflight they were able to create colonies and narrowly avoid it.
-Many high ranking hanar are supposedly inseparable from their drell servants. I presume this is a retcon, as we see many hanar on the presidium in ME1 but no drell.
-Interestingly, I don’t recall seeing any hanar and drell together in ME3 either. We see a lot of the presidium and Citadel night life, so you’d think there could be a pair or two in the background.
-Do the hanar not have any colonies? All references to them are them being on their homeworld, Kahje. Drell are supposedly there or integrated into the society of other species.
If they don’t have colonies, why not? There must be some worlds out there with oceans that meet their needs.
Do they not have enough political capital? The elcor are minor, but they have colonies. Is it a religious thing? I presume some hanar live on the Citadel.
-If the hanar don’t have colonies, I think it’s safe to say the drell don’t. Which is a shame, because even one would probably make a huge difference to their future.
