Screams to the heavens: pirate and procelin girl is a fun swashbuckler shappic all ages graphic novel. Omg it's so much fun, and beautifully done and I'm gonna make it my new fun obsession. God I love fantasy pirates lol, it's my niche area of interest. I wish the American GN market would catch the fuck up to adult interest so I could have full length GN romances! But alas I'll make due

Yeah September was a bit of a lax month when it came to reading. I was coming off of a reading slump after doing a month long readathon and wrapping up summer reading, so I think I needed a bit of a break. You can definitely see that from most of my reading being made up of graphic novels, my go to slump reads, but hey at least I've mostly enjoyed what I read for the month. Here's hoping for a stronger bookish October.
Total Books Read: 11
Total Pages Read: 3,561
Books Read:
Suncatcher by Jose Pimienta (2/5) - Graphic novels that feature music are a really tough sell at times, seeing as you don't have that auditory element to help fall into the story. I've read some that are fairly passable, but I think this one misses the mark. Not so much because of the music, but every other element seems so flat. The art style is gorgeous; it's one of the better aspects of the comic, but everything else really didn't help draw me in.
I found Beatriz to be such an unlikable lead. Sure, her perfectionist attitude derives from wanting to save her grandfather, but it's the only side we ever see from her. There is no progression of behavior other than going from overly passionate to dangerously obsessive. She's constantly dismissive of other people in the band from the start and I just didn't connect with her.
There's also some weird anti-indigenous sentiment going on, framing someone from a tribe indigenous to Mexico as a sort of "devil in the crossroads" character. It feels so out of place within the story, which already wasn't doing much for me. Absolutely phenomenal illustrations, but more could have been done here.
A Guest in the House by Emily Carroll (4/5) - Carroll is an absolute master at setting a horrific scene: the build-up, the tension, the malicious foreboding that precludes a disturbing payoff. She knows how to play with her readers, how to hide small details in plain sight, of instilling us with a similar feeling to that of the main character, that things aren't exactly happening as we remember them or as we're told. We feel just as out of sorts as Abby, where delusion may be slipping into reality and vice versa.
The art of this story is absolutely visceral, where moments of domesticity overlap with nightmarish creatures that look straight out of Hell. I liked the small detail that Abby seemed to be the only character without pupils (that I remember), giving a small hint towards the validity of her perceptions.
Not everyone is going to be satisfied by the open ending, but I didn't mind it. The horror comes from the vagueness of it all, that all the things that we imagine are going to be scarier than what actually is. We don't get answers, and that can be frustrating, but also terrifying.
The Infinity Particle by Wendy Xu (3.5/5) - I have to say, this is one of the most immersive sci-fi worlds I've been introduced to. There's so much creativity in the setting and designs of the various robots that it always made the pages interesting and engaging. It reads like a classic CLAMP manga, giving it a sense of nostalgia for us older manga readers. I know the comparisons to Chobits are everywhere across various reviews, but it at least gives you a small idea of the setup. I will say, it's a little more tasteful in certain ways with more emphasis on the characters as individual people with their own traumas and development without going into objectifying territory.
I like how Clem and Kye's experiences, while different, perfectly mirror each other, so their empathy and concern for the other feels natural. The questioning of AI ethics was also very well integrated into the story, adding more of a domestic drama element rather than something more thrilling or high stakes.
Confetti Realms by Nadia Shammas (4/5) - Confetti Realms is an autumnal delight, its story and atmosphere an equal mixture of Alice in Wonderland and Over the Garden Wall. The Halloween vibes are strong with this one, presenting a world that expertly struts down the line between whimsical and unsettling.
For a comic that feels so chill and almost relaxing at times, there's a slew of deeper issues that haunt our ensemble cast: taking care of a sick parent, mental illness, guilt, self-hatred. Their emotional arcs bring a good amount of weight and resonance to the story, but they may have hit harder if the introductions to these characters would have been a bit longer.
It felt like the story started a bit too late and ended way too early. While we get resolutions to the emotional journeys of the characters, the narrative ends too abruptly to be entirely satisfying. Still, I had a good time reading the story and getting a kick out of the utterly horrifying presence that is Tom the puppet. Not a bad way to start off the spooky reading season.
The Pirate and the Porcelain Girl by Emily Riesbeck (4/5) - Sooo, is it fair to label this graphic novel as Our Flag Meets Death with Adventure Zone humor or am I saying that just because there are gay pirates in it? Either way, if you're a fan of either of these you're definitely going to love this one. The art style reminded me a lot of Carey Pietsch's work on the Adventure Zone graphic novel, so that's probably where I got those vibes from. There's a great message of not changing everything you are just to accommodate the people you love.
It's a cute love story nonetheless, with a hilarious supporting cast and a thrilling, expansive world.
Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison (4/5) - This has been my second Rachel Harrison book, right after Such Sharp Teeth, and I think I have found a new favorite horror author. Harrison has such a way of getting right under the skin of her characters to display all their pain, fear, and insecurity while also having them sufficiently face down the true horror of their situations. Vesper, our lead, is someone who carries an immense weight of religious trauma, which only becomes more complicated and messy due to the specifics of her upbringing and family life. It's a situation so many can relate to, though, of course, not nearly to the same degree. The themes of reluctantly inheriting legacies, of fearing the traits and aspects we carry due to a few blood ties are especially resonant. The terror of this book comes from domestic and infernal sources, giving it a layer of relatability on top of some truly horrific moments.
I absolutely flew through this book, marveling at how naturally the narrative flowed. Everything starts at a slower, steadier pace, then gets absolutely bonkers towards the second half. I will say that this is a title where readers should be aware of trigger warnings such as religious trauma, cult activity, and abusive/neglectful parents. Other than that, this is definitely a book that you want to know as little as possible going in.
Junkwraith by Ellinor Richey (2/5) - I don't think this is a story that's going to be sticking with me for much longer after I'm done. While visually distinct, with a cool color palette and creative designs, its story and world building are too vague and underdeveloped for me to keep any interest in it. Are the Jujus an important part of this society or do they have the same significance as any technological companion? What ARE junkwraiths? Are they ghosts? Manifestations of misplaced energy? Why are they so dangerous?
It felt so long, but it didn't really use its length to its advantage in fleshing out the world. There are plot points that are engaging places to start, but they sort of fizzle rather than go anywhere. I had gotten about halfway through the comic in one sitting and could have really stopped there, but I always feel bad about DNFing a graphic novel when it wouldn't take much just to finish it.
Dear Mothman by Robin Gow (3.5/5) - A very sweet, emotional story of a closeted trans boy sending letters to Mothman as he processes his grief from losing his best friend. Queer people have always seen themselves in monsters, a connection from one "other" to another and this aspect is definitely a core element of the story. Any book that tries to combine a coming-of-age queer story with any sort of cryptid involvement is already a winner in my book so I may just be a little biased. There were some slower moments that were a little hard for me to get through, which I think is mostly due to the format making me think the book is longer than it really is. But really this is going to be such an important book to trans kids looking to find themselves in fiction.
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger (4/5) - (Review)
Mall Goth by Kate Leth (4/5) - What I expected to be a funny, nostalgic coming of age romp about being a goth/mall rat in the early 2000s surprisingly evolved into a mature, realistic take on grooming and predatory behavior. Don't get me wrong, that is in no way a complaint on my end, because the story perfectly balances its shifting tones.
Liv deals with all the normal teen problems: longing to find acceptance, working an embarrassing job to get some extra cash, getting wrapped up in all the teenage hormones that come with having a crush, She faces some additional struggles, such as past bullying due to her bisexuality and an absent father, but is still hesitantly open enough to start some new friendships. Building a sturdy support network is a large part of her character journey and I'm so glad that the author included a mix of her friends as well as some trusted adults into that group. It does away with the tired YA cliche of adults being fairly useless and showcases positive teen/adult interactions alongside a more harmful one to denote the differences.
Though I wasn't a teen yet by the time this story takes place, I definitely could feel the nostalgia sinking in when seeing some of the clothes and the general vibe of the mall. Also, noticing all the movie/music posters on Liv's wall (I peeped Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, and of course who could leave out good old Siouxsie?) really did warm my aspiring Goth heart.
BEASTARS, Vol. 1 by Paru Itagaki (4/5) - This manga has such a unique, charming style that gives each character a lot of personality. I've seen the first season of the anime and have basically just been dragging my feet getting to the manga, so I have an idea of where the story is eventually going to go. It's an intriguing concept, a world of anthropomorphized animals trying to live in harmony despite the ever looming threat of instincts taking over. It's introduced well in this first volume, the danger immediately established at the beginning when a herbivore student is killed by a carnivore on school grounds. I'm interested to see what sort of nuances will appear in this society and ultimately where the allegory will end up.

Pirate!Price/Reader
God, I want to write thirty damn chapters about Pirate!Price so badly. Someone tell me not to, please? Lol. Otherwise, y'all might be getting thirty chapters of Pirate!Price...
MDNI/18+ TW: virginity reference
Summary:
Captain John Price is king of the Seven Seas, and after he saves your life, you owe him a debt. His fee? To take you as his wife.
The Mediterranean Sea, 1708
“I just can’t…ARGH!” Price slammed his hand down on the porcelain basin as he tried to shave his chin, unable to use his right hand after the accident.
You pitied him, but you were still terribly afraid of him. When he rescued you, you thought he had been Death riding in on his ghostly white ship. But, now that he had been with you going on a fortnight, you realized the hardened, gruff exterior was but a hard shell encasing the soft, warm center of Captain Price, leader of the Queen’s special unit of Her Majesty’s Royal Navy.
You’d been marooned on Cassadaga Island for two days, stripped of your jewelry and purse, beaten within an inch of your life, and left for dead. Your would-be husband had planned the whole attack, hoping to cash in on the dowry money. The joke was on him. Your father had a gambling problem and had not two coins to rub together. The musket he kept above the mantle didn’t even have any gunpowder in it, you were so destitute. As soon as your fiancé found out about your lack of adequate funding, he tossed you overboard on his father’s ship. When Captain Price found you there, you were barely hanging on.
The captain had nursed you back to health, promising to chase down the vagabond and kill him for his dishonor. He’d been true to his word, slaughtering the lot of them, but during his vengeful assault, he’d been shot through the hand with a musket. You’d cleaned the wound, and he had yelled at you for the pain. Now, you were cowering in the corner of your shared room, back to being a prisoner.
He eyed you from his shining mirror above the basin,
“C’mere, girl.”
You edged closer. It wasn’t quick enough for him, so he crossed the room, his black leather boots banging on the ash wood of his quarters.
“I said come here,” he growled, grabbing you by the arm and dragging you over to the wash bowl, razor in his uninjured hand.
He let go of you, straightened himself, and sighed, fixing his harshness into a more genteel tone,
“My apologies,” the words came out of his mouth oily and practiced, not at all his natural verbiage, “Would you be so kind as to trim my beard? With my injury, and my left hand being more useless than a fuckin’ hook, I am at your mercy.”
He handed you the razor and you took it from him,
“Yes, sir - I mean, Captain. Yes, Captain.”
You were stuttering, full of abject fear at his possible retaliation.
As you approached his face with the razor, your hand was trembling and he noticed it. Something in him softened, his icy blue eyes melted just enough for him to hold you around your waist and gaze down at your face,
“It’s okay, pretty girl. My bark and my bite are both nasty, but I won’t harm you.”
His warm body was so close to yours, and with him leaning over you, breathing into your space, you could smell the tobacco scent that lingered in his clothes and beard. His long, braided hair was adorned with gold coins, bent and twisted into it to make little beads, and he had been caramelized by the sun. At the top of his sternum, you could see thick tufts of curly hair poking from his shirt. You tried not to stare.
“Captain,” you asked as sweetly as you could, “Can you sit, sir, so that I may reach your cheek?”
He smiled,
“Alright, love.”
He sat on his down mattress. The bed creaked at the addition of his familiar weight.
At this more convenient angle, you were able to reach his face and neck, so you began your task. You applied the foam in thin layers, working gently as you went, mindful that the captain kept his blades sharp enough to cut steel twine. What you hadn’t realized was that, by requesting that he sit, he was in full, direct eye sight of your heavy breasts. They were corseted up, as was the fashion, but without your normal over-dress to cover you, your nipples ghosted through the thin chemise, hinting at little pebbles beneath the surface. He had not stopped staring at them since you began to shave him.
You looked down while you were cleaning the blade, trying to discreetly glimpse at his growing passion, curious and fearful all at the same time. His breeches could barely contain him, and his thick phallus pressed into the join of his pants. He caught you staring, and he laughed at your rosy complexion, rolling his eyes,
“Ha! Embarrassed at your thirst, pretty girl? Surely those vagabonds did not leave you a virgin during your ordeal.”
“They did, sir,” you admitted, returning to your work, sad at having been discovered sinning with your abject perversion.
He made a small noise, unable to talk while you were shaving his prominent chin, careful around the curve of the bone. He liked to keep the sides long, trimming them with shears, but he always shaved his chin. You followed the razor’s line down his neck, careful not to knick his protruding Adam’s Apple.
“Is that so?” The captain purred.
“Yes, sir. At my fiance’s order.”
“Ah, I see.”
He was silent again, his eyes growing hungrier at the sight of you. His hands returned to your hips as the waves tossed the large vessel on the high seas. You stilled, feeling your belly flutter, wondering if it was seasickness or excitement from his newly focused touch.
“You alright, love? Bit choppy tonight. Storm’s brewin’.”
“Oh,” you nodded, finishing with his neck, “There. All finished, Captain.”
He moaned, holding your hips tighter, situating you between his open knees,
“Shame, that. I was enjoying your skillful hand, pretty girl.”
You blushed, setting the razor cleaned back in its case,
“Thank you, Captain Price. And thank you again for your rescue. I would be dead if not for your mercy. I am in your debt.”
“Aye,” the Captain eyed you slyly, “a steep debt at that. Your dowry should solve that for us. Then, you’ll be on your way. When we land in Málaga, your father can pay me.”
“Sir,” you gasped, “I don’t have one. My father took it to the game house and lost it on his cards.”
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, and you looked down at him in shame, hoping his mercy was deeper than his greed.
“Hmm, I see. Then, perhaps you would consider a captain as your betrothed?”
You looked up at him in shock, and he was amused by your fear. He used one hand to hold you by the hip, and his other, uninjured hand delicately pulled at the silk ribbon of your bodice, aiming to free you from your painful restraints.
“Y-y-yes…sir,” you could feel the heat on your cheeks, “My family would be most pleased with such a match.”
“Bugger your family, girl. They left you for dead. If you’re mine, you’ll be only mine. Once I have a bounty in my grasp, there’s not a man on God’s green earth who could take it from me. Does that scare you, girl? Do you want to run off home, turn to the cloth, become a nun instead?”
“No,” you shook your head, “No, sir. I owe you my life, and if it is my hand that you wish, I must oblige you.”
“I wish not your hand, love…” His tone was darkly suggestive, “Well, maybe at first.” He laughed warmly.
It was a joke that you had missed, but you knew it was your innocence that kept you from divining its meaning. In your core, your body yearned for him. Seeing him command his men, the fiercest swords on the Seven Seas, watching him take down pirates and vagabonds like it made his heart beat in his breast, it was mystifying. His huge muscles and broad bones made his tall figure all the more imposing, and every port you landed in, women swooned over him while the men cowered in fear. Yes, you’d enjoy him as a husband. No one would ever dare lay a hand on you again.
“What are your terms, Captain, should I accept your proposal?”
He ran a finger into the hole he had created in your leather bodice, letting you feel his warm touch through the thin fabric of your chemise. It electrified you.
“You’ll be mine, and only mine. I’ll be yours, and only yours. When I fill you with my seed, you’ll carry my children, and you’ll love them in earnest. You’ll sail with me, and learn the trade. There’s no comfortable manor house awaiting you, girl. What say you?”
“I agree to your terms, sir. But, I have one of my own.”
“Name it.”
“You’ll not lay a hand to me or our children, no matter the height of your rage.”
“Never. You have my word.”
Looking into his eyes, softened and vulnerable now, he meant it. You felt relief for the first time in weeks. Safe, protected, cared for, and welcomed into his adventures. It was everything you’d dreamed of. All of your childhood friends had dreams of servants and painting rooms and buying linens, while you had wanted to see the world. Here he was, offering it to you.
“I accept.”
“As do I, love. Now,” he finished removing your corset and bodice top, letting it fall to the floor, “as your husband, I’ll have what I’m owed.”
“Yes, Captain. But, please,” you felt a tear roll away from your wet lashes, “be gentle with me.”
“I promised no such thing,” he said, lowering his mouth to your nipple, sucking it and wetting the silk of your chemise, using his hand to pull down the fabric on your other breast, exposing it to the sea air.
You gasped, feeling his hot mouth explore your skin, your nipples tightening in the heat of his attentions. He was using his tongue to flick back and forth across the tip of your breast, not caring that you were trembling at every swipe of his tongue or thumb. You moaned, involuntarily, as you felt the sparkle of pleasure rush into your belly, making you wet under your skirts. While you had explored yourself plenty of times to discover the hidden secrets of your body, to have a man - especially such an aggressor like Captain Price - do it, it was so much more exciting. His forbidden fruit made you clench your legs together, upset and tingling within your core.
“Mmm,” he praised you, “Like that, love?”
“Yes, Captain,” you whispered softly, placing your hands on the back of his neck, rubbing the firm musculature you discovered there.
“Good girl,” he told you, pinching your nipple cruelly to make you moan again.
He kissed you then, full and with his long, ravenous tongue, forcing it into your mouth to feel your tongue and throat, the silky skin of your cheek. As he kissed you, he was busy rucking up your skirts, searching for your dripping heat. He found it, and he stilled. Barely moving, he stopped kissing you and looked up into your eyes with his stark blue ones, a look of pure delight on his face.
“Oh, my stars. There it is. You’ve been hiding it from me. So willing? Tell me the truth. Have you been hungering for me as I have been for you?”
It would not be proper to confess such a thing, even to a man who would be your husband. You shook your head in denial, pressing your lips together to keep from telling the truth.
“Say it! Tell your naughty thoughts to me, love. This is not the cunt of a frightened girl.”
You blushed, red as a rose, unable to meet his gaze.
“C’mon, pretty girl,” he moved his finger inside of you then, gently sinking into his drooling sheath, ready to send home his sword to it.
“Y-yes,” your voice was barely audible.
“Yes? What have you been thinking of?” He returned to your nipple, pressing his finger deeper into you, massaging your walls as he explored.
“You…when you fight pirates, sir. You look…”
He chuckled, biting your firm nipple softly, teasing you,
“You like seeing me murdering those devils, do you? In all my days, I never thought I’d find a lass who had a taste for war.”
“Not the war, sir. Just the warrior. You seem to be in command of the chaos, and my body…well, I guess…I am unsure how to describe it.”
He pulled you down to the bed and tossed you on your back, rutting against you with his length, letting his hardness press into your core through his breeches.
“You like seeing me in charge, hm? Your captain, barking his orders, tossing those traitorous rats into the drink, yeah?”
“Yes, sir,” you confessed, rolling in the broiling pleasure he was building inside of you, his hand knuckle-deep inside of your core.
“Good,” he said smugly, “Then, I have a command for you.”
You looked up at him, watching him roll your skirt up above your knees, his eyes never leaving your dripping folds. He smiled when he saw it gleam for him.
“What do you ask of me, my love?”
“Open your legs, girl. Feed yourself to your Captain.”

And she can't see how one man could possibly be that dangerous, or terrifying.
cw/tw: Guns, violence, harsh language, sexual jokes, might be more
Not proof read
Tumblr media
- Ace of Spades: It is a symbol of power, authority and also death
As Jiwoo pulled up to the town square and spotted the man. He was clad in a black suit accented with gold details. He almost looked like a pirate, except the clown make up and the mad-man smile on his red lips.
Jiwoo got out of the car, sighing to herself as the other cop cars had left before they could even reach the town square. ''Greatest police force in the country they said''
She was mumbling to himself abou her force bing wusses as she approached the man with caution in her steps. She was sure he knew she was there.
He did.
Seonghwa cracked his neck loudly before he turned towards the woman. His mad smile grew even wider as he spotted her. ''Kim Jiwoo! I've heard a lot about you!''
''Only bad I hope'' She mumbled.
''Of course! I'm Park Seonghwa! Or you might know me as the "Ace of Spades". I shall greet you welcome to the force!''
Jiwoo chuckled to herself. At this exact moment the man seemed quite harmless. ''So you're the man the whole country fear? The one who scared of my entire force? I really can't see how a single man could be thar terrifying''
The man kept the psychotic smirk as a deep chuckle left his lips. ''Well, dollface, you'd be surprised what a single man could accomplish with the right motivation''
''Well, might not use the word pleasure, but it is an honor to meet the legendary "Ace of Spades", the one who makes my life a living hell through my superior officer. Now, what have you been up to?''
Seonghwa was intrigued by the woman. He'd never seen someone this confident around him.
He approached the girl and grabbed her jaw in a firm grip. He tilted her head from side to side as if he was inspecting her face. As if she was a porcelain doll covered in a speck of dust.
''Well aren't you a brave one?'' Seonghwa asked out loud as he was done with his inspection.
Jiwoo didn't reply. She didn't know how to reply to that statement. She felt like no matter how she replied she'd piss of the man.
Seonghwa wasn't really expecting an answer. He was mostly talking to himself. Something he did often. Well, mostly the voices in his head, not exactly himself.
''You are absolutely fucking gorgeous, have anyone ever told you that?'' He asked her as he ran his thumb across her cheekbone
''A few disturbing men, why?''
''Well, you should have someone in your life who always tells you how gorgeous you are, especially with a body like that'' He leaned even closer, eyeing her up and down.
Jiwoo was almost convinced he was gonna kiss her right there, at the town square in front of all the scared civlians.
She was surprised when he didn't. Instead he poked his tongue out and licked her face. Out of relfex, which most people would proabbly deem normal, she slapped the man with all the power she had.
''Goddamn'' Seonghwa hissed as he pulled back from the woman. She knew how to slap. ''You are one ballsy woman!''
Jiwoo continued staring into the man's eyes. ''If you let my face go now, and you walk away, I'm not gonna take you in in cuffs''
''And what if I like handcuffs?'' Seonghwa continued smirking. He knew he was kinky, but he wanted it to come out like that.
Jiwoo had come to the conclusion that, if he liked it, he wouldn't mind, and if he didn't like it, he would've walked away. Which is how Seonghwa found himsel sitting in a place he'd never been seated before. The backseat of a cop car with his hands folded neatly in his lap. He'd only driven them before, after stealing them that is.
As they reached the station she pulled him inside, without much struggle, she earned more than look as she led the the country's most wanted criminal into the station.
''Hey!'' Seonghwa snapped. He raised his hand and pointed a knife at each and single one of them. He had gotten out of his cuffs the moment Jiwoo put him in the car. ''If you don't stop staring, I might have to cut up all of you! Wouldn't like to look like the joker, would ya?''
He approached one of them, Wooyoung, and grabbed his jaw in a firm grip. He held the knife close to the right corner of the poor officer's mouth.
Wooyoung, who was known for being a bold man and always talking back, sat frozen in his chair. Jiwoo wasn't even sure he was breathing.
Jiwoo let out a sigh. ''Seonghwa, you're in a police station, the second you hurt someone they can, by law, fire their weapons at you''
Seonghwa's grip on Wooyung's jaw only tightened, but the knife dropped to the floor. ''Fine, but if you repeat this, I promsie you, something will happen''
Jiwoo grabbed his arm and dragged them towards their holding cells. As she shoved him inside the cell, the other perps were quick to press up against the wall in terror.
Seonghwa sat down in the middle of the room, on the floor, and took out a pen. As he took out the pen the perps pressed even harder against the wall.
He was enjoying the terror he put in other people.
''If your plan is to kill someone with that pen, please give it to me now''
''Look, I'm not planning on it, but even if I was planning it, do you really think I'd tell you?''
''Whatever, do you want a paper?''
Seonghwa nodded and smiled, this time not one of his psychotic, demon smiles, but a softer one.
The woman couldn't believe how a man could have such duality. One moment he's threatening to cut you up like the joker, and the other moment he's sitting on the floor, doodling away like a three year old.
As Jiwoo sat back down by her desk Wooyoung approached his superior officer. ''Look, don't get me wrong Jiwoo, respect for getting Seonghwa, but don't you think it's a bit weird he stayed even though he wasn't cuffed. He must have something planned''
''I know, but let's give him the benefit of a doubt. Or just shove the other perps into the hearing rooms if you think he's gonna kill them. They're too dumb to escape, but I don't trust Seonghwa in there as he could escape. Hell, he could escape now as well, despite eight armed officers watching over him''
Wooyoung nodded. ''I guess...'' He sat back down by his desk and threw his legs up on it.
Jiwoo kept her eyes on the holding cell, where Seonghwa was still sitting peacefully, drawing on his paper and twirling the pen between his fingers every now and then.
''How is he the most feared man in Korea?''
Tumblr media
48 hours passed, which meant they couldn't hold the man longer without proof or a hearing. And they had no solid proof. All they had were his tag "Ace of Spades" and he would never admit to that on tape.
''Come on Seonghwa, either you help us out here, or you've gotta leave. We have to fill the cell with other perps and they're all terrified of you'' She motioned to the other perps who'd been pressed up against the wall for the past two days.
''What do I have to do for you to give me something? Please~ give me anything!'' Jiwoo whined. She'd given up on her cool after the first 36 hours.
''Make out with me'' He stated simply, not lifting his gaze from his doodling paper.
Jiwoo couldn't believe she was even considering the offer. Making out with the most wanted man for something he might not even tell her afterwards? ''No! Nuh-uh''
''You hesitated, Princess''
And so the days kept passing and Seonghwa would not budge. They had to get creative about where they put the perps.
Some were shoved into the hearing rooms, which didn't work out in the long run since they needed those for... well hearings.
Some were simply cuffed to nearest surface and the guys hoped they wouldn't escape.
Jiwoo was getting tired of having to come up with different ideas of where to keep the perps, so she took it upon herself to throw the man out so their holding cell could be used.
She walked into the holding cell. ''Guys, take the other perps and store them... somewhere. I just need 10 minutes''
Hongjoong nodded and stood up, as well as the rest of the men, and walked over to the cell to escort the perps into different hearing roooms, with each other.
As Jiwoo entered the holding cell she closed and locked it behind her. She sat down opposite of Seonghwa.
''Can you either help us, or just... leave?''
''But if I leave I can't see your pretty face everyday, Princess'' He finally lifted his gaze from his painting.
Jiwoo took a peek at it. Her eyes widened. It was a picture of herself and Seonghwa... doing unthinkable things. ''You've got some talent, but eh... why in the world am I on the picture?''
''You're hot'' Seonghwa replied without stuttering.
Then again, he was probably used to saying anything he wanted and no one batted an eye.
''You're crazy'' Jiwoo mumbled quietly to herself.
The man's head snapped up in almost inhumane pace. ''Crazy you say?'' The psychotic smile was back on his lips. ''Say, I've been called lots of things, but crazy isn't one of them'' He stood up and started pacing as well as insepcting the cell. ''See I'm a bit hurt you call me crazy, Princess. I was starting to like you''
''I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, but to be fair, you're wanted for basically everything you can be wanted for''
Seonghwa chuckled. ''Fine, I'll leave, but we'll meet again soon. I can promise you that''
''I doubt it''
Tumblr media
Jiwoo was walking home after a long shift. The clock was two in the morning and it was pitch black outside. The sun would be up in a few hours, due to summer time. The only light she was given came from the street lights, which were almost ten meters apart.
She was thanking the weather for being on the warmer side since she was clad in a crop-top and a pair of jeanshorts.
An attire that had made her whole department laugh since she'd never showed up in such clothing. Or to quote Wooyoung "I didn't know you had the ability to look like a female human being"
She wasn't worried. She had her gun on her, and she'd never been scared of the dark. But something was irking her. She didn't like it one bit.
What Seonghwa said to her a month ago, actually got to her.
She wasn't necessarily scared of the man. He had never given her a reason to be scared of him. Well, depends on how you wanna interpreter the whole thing, he had given her several reasons to terrify him, but she always wanted to give people a second chanve, and believe in the good in people.
But she was worried about what he could accomplish, since she had after all heard stories about him.
She stopped as she spotted a silhouette standing under the next lamp.
''The chances of it being Seonghwa is small'' She mumbled to herself.
She didn't know if she wanted to reassure herself or if she was just praying that it wasn't him.
Since the light came from above she couldn't see his face, or any form of detail that could reveal the person's identity.
As she got closer the silhouette started chuckling. Jiwoo cursed herself. She recongized his chuckle.
''Well Princess, didn't I promise we were gonna meet again?'' He stood up straight and walked the last few feet, since Jiwoo was frozen in shock. ''Aren't you happy to see me, Princess?'' He gently grabbed her jaw and tilted it upwards.
''I- uhm... no?'' Jiwoo felt intrigued by him.
''Lie. You know what we do with liars?'' Seonghwa's smirk grew. ''We punish them'' Seonghwa grabbed her arm and pulled her towards a car. ''Scream and someone innocent dies''
Jiwoo cursed herself in her head but allowed the man to pull her towards a random car, which he decided was now his.
What she said previously was out the window. She was starting to grow scared of the man. He was unpredicatble.
Seonghwa stomped on the gas and drove towards his mansion. Yes, mansion.
''We've got an hour to kill, ask me anything. I know you're curious''
''Well... cheesy, but your origin story? Why?''
''Well, I think you know my family. My father Park Baekhyon, asshole for that matter. He's most of the reason. Abusive, alcoholic, manipulative, did as wished because he was rich''
Jiwoo racked in her head for the name Park Baekhyon. She slowly realized who he was. ''You killed your own parents''
''I did. I'm not proud of it. But-''
''How could you kill your own father?'' Jiwoo exclaimed.
''You didn't know him as I did!'' Seonghwa shouted and gripped the steering wheel so hard that his knuckles were turning white. Jiwoo thought he was break it. ''He would rape young boys! He would bring home my friends and he would lure them into his study. Something happened behind those doors and then I would never see my friends again! I only know because he got drunk one evening and bragged about it! And when those boys couldn't satisfy his needs he turned to mom and me!''
Jiwoo's eyes softened. No, it didn't justify the face that he was a murderer or the fact that he murdered his own parents, but him being messed up might have something to do with his messed up childhood.
''I would call the police, but as everyone adored my father and knew nothing about what happened behind closed doors, they would dismiss it as some rich kid around abusing his power, or just just asking for attention! No one ever believed me when I said I was in trouble!''
The car fell silent. The rest of the hour long drive was quiet. Jiwoo was processing everything Seonghwa had told her and Seonghwa was slowly regretting that he told the girl his whole lifestory.
As they reached Seonghwa's mansion Jiwoo's jaw fell open. ''Goddamn''
''Close that pretty mouth of yours'' He tapped her chin and led her inside.
''Look, your sad childhood is, most likely, the root of your hell-like life, and it oesn't excuse your behvaiour, but I get it. No one ever showed you love''
Seonghwa stopped walking and turned around. ''I don't like how you read me like an open book. If you're trying to tell me I've got daddy issues, fuck you. But you're right, no one ever showed me any love and I've been just fine without it! I don't need you, Ms. Police Captain to come around and act all sweet and pretend to give me the love you decided I need''
The woman sighed to herself. She was gonna regret everything she was about to do.
She walked up to the tall man and wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest. She thought that despite his cold and rough aura, he needed some love.
Everyone needs love, but especially those who've never received it.
The man froze. He was confused. ''W-w-what are you doing?'' All his hard work at building up walls around himself faltered in a second. This woman did what no one else had ever accomplished.
And he hated it!
''I'm hugging you''
''Why? I don't deserve that- I don't-''
''Everyone deserves love. Everyone needs love. Even the most cold hearted people in the world needs love'' She mumbled and kept her arms wrapped around the man.
Seonghwa didn't move from his frozen state. He had never gottan a hug from anyone. Hell, he'd never even gotten a slap on the back, or heard anyone tell him he did a good job.
As Jiwoo pulled away she smiled. ''Everyone-'' Before Jiwoo could start talking Seonghwa had stormed off into a random room.
He had never showed his feelings, he never had to, so now that the woman managed to get his feelings to spill out, he didn't know what to do.
Jiwoo sighed and started walking through the hallways to find the man.
''Why does one lonely man need 200 bedrooms?'' Jiwoo asked herself as she opened another door.
''Empty''
She opened the last door in the hallway, which was a double door. As she threw the doors opened she was met with the man she was looking for.
He was sitting on the floor, something Jiwoo realized was a habit of his, with a big knife in his hand. He was twirling it between his fingers, occasionally throwing it up in the air and catching it.
As Jiwoo opened the door, said knife came flying towards her head. It stuck to the door, less than an inch from her face, but despite the closeness she didn't flinch.
She simply removed the knife and took a closer look at it. ''Nice knife'' She threw it back to Seonghwa. She walked over to the man and sat down in front of him. ''Look, I know you’re not used to… emotions. So I’m sorry that I just… emotion-vomited on you''
Seonghwa didn’t say anything. He simply raised his gaze and deadpanned the woman.
''I can be your therapist! Tell me all your problems''
Jiwoo knew it was weird for a police officer to be nice to a criminal, it was weird for her to even be this nice to a criminal. But she felt like he needed it.
Seonghwa swiftly raised his knife to Jiwoo’s throat and his gaze was ice cold. ''I don’t care if your job is to make me a better a person, I don’t care if your intention is to make me less of a criminal, or however you want to word it, I won’t tell you shit. Are you gonna get a promotion if you do this?''
Once again she didn’t flinch. She gently laid her hand on Seonghwa’s and lowered it. She carefully took the knife from his hands, all while keeping eye contact with the man.
Seonghwa’s gaze softened as he realized she wasn’t scared of him. She wasn’t gonna let this go anytime soon. No one had ever put in this much effort for anything that was about him.
Jiwoo grabbed his other hand and just held his cold hands in her warm ones.
''Look, I know you’ve never heard this before, and I know it’s weird especially when it’s coming from a Police Captain, but I’m here if you need something''
The man didn’t know what to do.
His heart was thumping loudly in his ears. Her hands holding his gave him a tingling sensation. Her sweet, gentle smile made him wanna smile.
''Why is my heart thumping so hard? And fast? And why does my skin tingle whenever you touch me? And why do I wanna smile when you smile?'' Seonghwa rambled his questions out loud.
Jiwoo chuckled at his ramble. How would such a notorious criminal be so adorable.
''Your heart is thumping hard and fast because you’re excited, or when you’re in love. Your skin is either tingling because you’re in love with me or because your allergic to me, and smiles are infectious''
Seonghwa’s eyes widened as he came to a realization. He was in love with the woman in front of him.
''I’m kidding. I have no idea why all that is happening to you'' Jiwoo smiled.
Deposited the woman joking, he was quite sure he was in love with her.
''I think I like you… more than I’d like to admit''
The woman froze. He couldn’t. It was like a poor version of Romeo and Juliette.
''Well, I don’t know if I can say the same right at this moment-''
''I knew it! No one could ever love me! You lied to me!''
Seonghwa swiftly pulled out a gun and pressed it to Jiwoo’s forehead.
The cold metal pressing against her forehead would turn anyone into a frantic mess, but Jiwoo was surprisingly calm. She trusted him.
Which could be stupid, but she listened to her gut feeling.
It almost annoyed Seonghwa that he couldn’t terrify her. He always put fear in people without even trying! He could walk down the street to get a cup of coffee and people would disappear faster than one could count to three.
But why wasn’t this woman scared of him?
She was more scared of his feelings than she was of a gun, pressed against her forehead by the most notorious criminal Korea’d ever seen.
And why couldn’t he hurt her? He’d never had a problem with killing, torturing, kidnapping and so on.
But this woman, something about this woman made him wanna remove all the evil in the world. He could never hurt her! He wanted to protect her from anything that could possibly be evil.
''I- I- I can’t do it! Why can’t I kill you? I’ve never had a problem with it before! What makes you special? You make me wanna quit the criminal life! You make me wanna remove all the evil in the world! I wanna protect you from anything that could possibly hurt you'' He threw the gun across the room in rage.
Jiwoo smiled. ''You are in love with me, Park Seonghwa. Whether you like it or not ''
''I don’t like it! You don’t like me back!'' Seonghwa exclaimed. He almost looked like a three year old throwing a temper tantrum.
''Look, it might be because I've only just met you, or the fact that you're wanted for basically every single thing you can be wanted for, but if I get to know you, the feelings might change'' She held his, cold, hands in her warm ones.
Jiwoo grabbed his arms and pulled at them. ''Come on, I saw a giant TV in one of your millions of rooms, you've gotta have some kind of games. Let's play''
Tumblr media
''For a police Officer your aim is really shitty'' Seonghwa chuckled as he won another match.
''It's a lot easier in real life'' Jiwoo mumbled and threw the controller on the couch. She threw it hard enough for it to bounce, and smack Seonghwa in the face. ''Oh my god, I am so sorry!''
Seonghwa glared at the woman. ''How dare you?''
Jiwoo tried her best to not laugh as Seonghwa glared at her. She couldn't really take him seriously. Why? She had no idea, he was terrifying when he glared at someone.
He grabbed her by the waist and pinned her down to the couch.
''I said I'm sorry'' Jiwoo mumbled as the mood changed within a second. ''What more do you want? Kiss it better? Where does it hurt?'' Jiwoo cooed in a judging way.
''I mean, that would be rather nice, wouldn't it?'' He leaned closer to her with a small smirk on his lips. ''My lips hurt, kiss them better?''
The woman didn't know what came over her, but she leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. Seonghwa smirked as her lips pressed against his.
As they deepened the kiss Seonghwa removed one of his hands to place it on Jiwoo's cheek, but instead he managed to fall off the couch with a small "Ouff"
Jiwoo sat up and looked down at the boy. She chuckled slightly before he grabbed her and pulled him down on top of him. A small "Ouff" left them both again. Jiwoo chuckled as she straddled his waist.
Seonghwa looked at her with adoring eyes. His hands laid on her thighs, on which his thumbs drew small circles. The woman didn't know what to do as he stared at her. She blushed and lowered her gaze, causing him to chuckle.
''Cute'' He mumbled before he allowed his hands to travel up her thighs, past her waist and under the hem of her shirt. Goosebumps grew on her skin as his fingertips did as they wished.
''What is your next plan?'' Jiwoo raised an eyebrow as she looked down at the man. She tried to not blush as he stared at her.
''As I said, you'd be surprised what a single man could accomplish with the right motivation'' He winked and sat up, face less than an inch from hers.
''What's your motivation right now?''
''You''

🌊The Sirens Song🌊(Pt 5)
Tumblr media
Annora's delicate fingers curled around a white mug, picking the warm porcelain up from her desk and pressing it to her lips.
She took a long, deep sip, inhaling the scent and rolling the taste against her tongue. She sighed softly, the cheap tea soothing her frayed nerves.
Although she didn't usually indulge in things like caffeinated tea, it had become somewhat of a necessity for her as of late.
She placed the mug back onto her desk, wiping at her lips with her forearm.
She leaned forward, rubbing her temples.
Today was going to be a big day, and she didn't know if she was ready to start it.
Annora lowered her palms.
Well, she didn't have much of a choice.
She sighed.
She stood up from the wooden chair, slowly limping to her dresser, passing by piles and piles of crumpled, discarded papers and a propped-up pair of crutches.
The wall she walked beside looked like the insides of a madman's house; in fact, the entire cabin looked like it. Every wall in her house was covered in excruciatingly detailed maps of the town she resided in and, more specifically, the ocean surrounding it.
Ocean depths, ocean courses, patterns of the current, anything and everything she could think of had been studied and written down in excess.
She knelt with a pained grunt, shifting a bit so as to not put too much pressure on her right leg.
Her fingers latched onto her dresser's drawer and tugged.
She pulled out a small bag of mora, a small blade, a pair of earplugs, a few of her rolled maps, and a thick, black clock.
She slipped all the smaller items into the large pocket of her skirt and tugged the cloak over her back.
She leaned against the drawer as she pulled herself back up, wincing at her leg's protest.
Annora then turned around, catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
Her eyes widened ever so slightly.
Who was that stranger that stood there in the glass?
A haggard, maddened-looking woman stared right back at her.
The woman's bangs were frizzy, unkempt, and messily framing her pale cheeks.
Slowly she lifted her hand to her face, brushing a red tendril from her eyes.
She rested her palm there for a moment.
That didn't help much.
At least those familiar green eyes were as bright as ever, even with those dark bags resting so heavily beneath them.
Annora let out another heavy sigh.
Dwelling on something as insignificant as her appearance was idiotic as someone trying to befriend a boar.
She needed to move on; she had a mission to start.
-------------------------------------------------------
Captain Ace inhaled deeply, taking in the musky smoke of his cigar.
He puffed the gray smoke out with a sigh, his free hand stroking his beard.
Somebodies hand knocked against his door.
He sighed softly.
Contemplation time was over, it appeared.
He leaned forward, rubbing his cigar against his ashtray and discarding it.
He pulled his old boots off the desk's edge, his feet thumping into his cabin's wooden floor.
"Com'in."
He spoke gruffly.
The door opened, and a young sailor stood there.
He spoke softly, holding up a small pouch in his hand. The bag clinked as it moved.
"Sir, a young woman dropped by...she said to give this to ye..."
The captain raised an eyebrow. A young woman?
He gestured for the sailor to bring the parcel to him.
The sailor complied, walking over to the captain and dropping the bag onto his desk.
The bag's opening widened, revealing the shiny golden mora coins within.
The captain hummed.
"A young girl..." he muttered.
The sailor spoke up nervously.
"Th-there's a note too."
He pulled a piece of paper out from his pocket, offering it to the captain.
The captain took the note from the sailor, dismissing him with a nod.
The captain pushed aside the mora bag, propping his feet back on the desk and leaning back.
He pulled the note up to his face and read it.
The pirate's relaxed expression pulled into a grimace, his scruffy eyebrows furrowing.
He let out a heavy sigh, placing the note on his desk gently.
"Oh...ye young lass..."
He shook his head, staring sadly at the bag of mora.
"...this ain't ye battle..."
-------------------------------------------------------
Annora chewed her lip roughly, green eyes staring into the forest's dark path.
Her leg already ached from all the walking she had done today, so hiking...
She smacked her cheeks with her hands, muttering loudly to herself.
"C'mon, Annora! This is nothing. You've gone through so much harder-"
She took a step forward, choosing to ignore her legs protest.
"I-I can...do this. I can do this."
She stepped past the trees lining, commencing her journey with a determined glare.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Venti yawned, his maw wide as he stretched his arms out. He dug those massive limbs into the sand, shifting them back and forth slowly.
Once his arms divots were made, he rested his chin on the ocean floor. His tail flicking lazily back and forth as he got ready for a nice, long afternoon nap.
His heavy eyelids fluttered, curtains being drawn on his day.
That was until a rather large rock crashed into the water's surface.
The sound of splashing water made him look up, squinting at the rock.
Of course, to him, it wasn't even a pebble, but he figured since he could see it, by human standards, it must be somewhat larger.
The rock slowly floated down, bubbles following its trail as it sunk.
Eventually, the rock came to rest right beside Venti's hand.
He raised an eyebrow at it.
Suddenly, there was another splash.
He looked back up, and this time a larger rock had decided to fall from...wherever they were falling from.
Following the path of the last rock, it settled right by Venti's hand.
Venti leaned over the two rocks, inspecting them with a curious gaze. Normally rocks didn't just toss themselves off the edge of a mountain. Had there been a minor earthquake or something?
While he was trying to pick up the newest rock, there was another splash, followed by a whizz as it fell through the water.
Venti didn't get time to react as the new rock suddenly crashed into the top of his head.
This one, having been even bigger than the last, was about the size of Venti's palm and was surprisingly painful.
Venti hissed, more so from annoyance than pain though. He sat up quickly, shaking the rock off his head.
He stared at the larger object as it fell to the sandy floor, rubbing the sore spot with his hand.
He growled softly.
Whatever was going on was not natural.
He pushed himself off the ocean floor, fins flicking and propelling him upwards.
Soon, his face broke the surface of the water, turquoise eyes wide as he stared up.
His eyes landed on the cliff's edge, and he stated in shock.
Another rock, heavier and bigger than all the others, was tilting towards him, threatening to fall.
The heavy boulder quickly tipped off the cliff's edge, and Venti moved just in time before it crashed into his face.
Before fully processing how close of a call that was, he heard something.
"Hey-!"
A woman's voice yelled from above.
Venti's gaze flashed upwards, and he had to suppress a gasp as his eyes widened.
That human woman. The one that had smelled so wonderfully delicious.
Had returned-?
-------------------------------------------------------
A drop of sweat fell down Annora's forehead as she huffed heavily.
Those rocks sure were heavy...
She dropped the large stick she had used to prop those boulders off the cliff, kicking it back to the trees for safekeeping.
Now that she had gotten the beast's attention, it was time to speak.
"Don't bother trying to sing. I have earplugs in."
She adjusted her cloak, tugging the edges closer to her chest.
The siren's gaze hardened at that, his pupils dilating.
His eyes were solely trained on her, predatory pupils gleaming with hunger.
Annora shivered as she waited for his response.
It was hard to appear confident when staring death in its face.
The siren's lips slowly pulled into a smirk. If it weren't for those shiny white pearls, she might have unconsciously swooned. A creature so beautiful shouldn't exist.
"So what? I can still leap up there, cant I~? You've put yourself right where I can reach; it's like you're asking to be killed..."
He chuckled darkly, licking his lips for extra emphasis.
Although his voice was muffled, the naturally louder volume of his voice made deciphering his words relatively easy.
"You won't do that, not when the sun is out. You don't want unseen humans or boats to see you, right?"
The sirens smirk fell.
He sighed, his eyes averting from hers and focusing on the cliff's underside.
"So you've done your research..."
He grumbled softly.
"But why come here? If not to commit suicide, I don't see why a human girl would want to chat with me~"
He recovered quite quickly, his lips pulled up in a slight grin.
Annora coughed into her hand anxiously, hiding her fearful expression with a shaking fist.
"I-I've come here to negotiate with you."
-------------------------------------------------------
Venti's eyes flew open at the girl's stutters.
Negotiate? A puny girl like her negotiate with him?
He burst into laughter, throwing his head back and letting his laugh roar. His laugh was so loud it made the small human jump, making him laugh even louder.
He kept on laughing for a few moments before slowly calming down and merely chuckling.
He wiped at his eye with his claw, flicking off a tear.
"Negotiate with me-?! Listen, I may not be able to kill you now, but that doesn't mean I'm interested in playing "negotiation" with my food. It's rather disrespectful to my meal, no~?"
He chuckled darkly.
The girl seemed to grow even more anxious at his words, folding her hands together and nervously fiddling with her fingers.
"We-well, I-I suggest you hear me out unless you want to starve, that is..."
Venti fell silent at that.
Starve?
He raised his eyebrows, his attention captured.
Now, what was this girl planning?
"I-Ive informed one of the most influential pirate captains about your hunting routes-"
Venti's eyes widened.
"I figured with your size you could only hunt in the deeper parts of the oceans...after I realized that, the power of deduction is all I needed."
She pulled out a roll of paper from her skirt's pocket, and tossed it over the edge of the cliff, letting it descend to Venti.
Before the paper could flutter onto the oceans surface, he caught it on his clawed fingertip.
He leaned over the small piece of paper, squinting.
If it weren't for his sharp eyesight, it would have been too small to decipher. But thanks to his superior vision, it wasn't too hard to see; and what he saw was quite the unsettling thing.
He recognized those mountains and those waters, and all his hunting routes had been mapped out. The only thing she didn't have written down was the times he visited those areas.
He sighed.
"So you've found my food supply..."
His lips slowly spread into a grin.
He wasn't worried about it though. No legitimate pirate would listen to a small girl like this.
"Why do you think that pirate would ever listen to you~?"
He giggled at the girl, finding this whole thing rather amusing.
The girl spoke, trying to sound confident.
"Captain Ace already believes in sirens, and the moment he saw my legs state, he had all the proof he needed."
She crossed her arms.
"No boats will be crossing those areas in the nighttime...meaning you won't be able to hunt like before."
She smiled slightly.
"You may be able to catch a few...but I doubt it'll be enough to sustain a creature of your size."
Ventis grin fell.
He looked down at the map. How could such stupid piece of paper be such a pain in his arse?
He let the paper slide into the middle of his palm and then crumpled it up in frustration.
He tossed the cursed piece of paper into the ocean.
"So you plan to starve me to death. Is that it?"
"N-No. Not exactly."
The girl shifted uncomfortably.
"I-I realize you were merely surviving, even if that surviving has cost countless lives. So I can't blame you for...hunting, per se."
She inhaled deeply.
"So. In exchange for not killing humans a-and not killing me either...I will provide you with meals as frequently as you need them."
Venti squinted.
So he wouldn't be allowed to hunt anymore?
He considered the proposition, rubbing his clawed hand against his chin.
He did enjoy the rush of lulling his prey into a trance, and then utterly decimating their pathetic ships.
But hunting took a lot of effort, even if he did enjoy it, and Venti was a very lazy individual.
If this human girl had found a way to satiate his appetite without him putting in any effort...he couldn't exactly reject that.
But first, he needed to figure out if she was lying or not.
"Hmm...You're clearly no noble by the way you dress...nor are you deeply associated with pirates, as they dont talk like you do..."
He hummed.
"So tell me, how do I know you're not just lying to me? How do I know all your words werent just fabrications?"

Hello dear! ♥╣[-_-]╠♥
I have a request for you if u don't mind! (。・//ε//・。)
Can i please ask for a scenario with Shanks and Law when they first meet fem! s/o that is physically the stereotyped version of the little short girl with a cute face but when they spend just the tiniest amount of time with her they immediately realize that her personality isn't even close to be compared her appearance cuz she's more of like a talkative, action-oriented, enthusiastic, and out-going type of person and they're just so perplexed lmao.
Like for Shanks it could be when he was at Party's and she was there just animatedly telling Makino how she nearly fell of a tree cuz she thought she had some insect in her skirt like what she was even doing on a tree?? Insp prompt: “this sounds like you’re flirting with me.” “…i have been trying to do that for three years now." " .... B-but i though u just wanted to club trees with me..?"
And for Law I cannot imagine an other scenario than her being a strawhat and him being 'forced' in staying with them because of the alliance lmao. To the point to suspecting her being Luffy's sister or something, but also it would get him off guard cuz SHE is NOT LOGICAL! Lol Insp prompt: “you’re cute..” “what?” “i said you look like a fruit.” “that doesn’t even make any sense.. *confused*”
Of course you can change them as you want boss 😉!
I hope you have fun writing them 💜 and please feel free to delete the ask if you don't want to do them! 🌻
authors note : hello , darling <3 what a cute request this is ...! and it gives me an excuse to write self indulgent girly stuff ahem ..! i hope you enjoy them <3
Shanks x F! Reader : Finding out cute, femme reader is rowdy.
- When Shanks first meets you, he’s shocked that a woman of your image is roaming the seas. Adorable face that looks like it could break like porcelain, matching your fragile looking figure. Frilly clothing, full of pastels and floral patterns... What the hell made you want to live the pirate life? Not that being feminine is a problem, quite the contrary. Shanks loves women, so, of course he loves women that really tap into their girly sides. Although, that’s what he thought when the day had just begun, when he and his crew first met you.
- Being the ladies man he is, Shanks is gracious enough to invite you to feast with his crew. A new friend calls for a banquet, wouldn’t you agree? But once you touch the food and booze, Shanks is soon to realize he misjudged you. Really misjudged you. Your attitude catches him off guard when you agree to a drinking contest with Yasopp, clutching a gallon of beer in your prim, well taken care of hands. The way you guzzle back the liquor, managing to win the competition... Shanks is flabbergasted. He can’t believe you can do such a thing...! He can’t believe he finds this revelation to be, well... hot..! A girly girl who also shares similar interests and the same attitude as him? Oh, he’s gone.
- After that night, Shanks always invites you to do fun stuff with him. Although... You usually end up biting off more then Shanks anticipated. “Hey, Y/n! Wanna go bully Blackbeards crew?” “Duh! I thought we were doing that already? I totally took all their treasure.” Sweat drips down Shanks’ forehead when he hears you say things like that. “You what?” You never seem to share his views or worries, with things like that. Shanks isn’t a huge worrywart, so it takes a lot for him to grow hesitant. Yet, you never fail to make that feeling arise in him. Shanks may be head over heels for you, but sometimes he feels like your babysitter. He hates feeling that way, so he acts as stupidly as he can. Benn can be the babysitter, Shanks hates having to be the voice of reason...! Even if he is his own crews captain
- He tries so hard to flirt with you, its almost pathetic... You never manage to catch onto any of his gestures. Shanks can’t help but grow frustrated with your obliviousness. I mean, he could do what every grown man should do and full on just tell you about his feelings. But whats the fun in that? Shanks lives for the chase, for the flirting... After all, those are the funnest parts of romance. Who cares for that sweet, slow burn? Not Shanks...! “You’re looking hot today, Y/n!” You’ll stare at him, expression riddled with confusion. “...? It’s not even warm today, how could i be sweating?” The booming laughter of his crew is enough to bruise his ego, as Shanks has clearly embarrassed himself. Not just in front of his crush, but his friends. Sigh. He’ll never hear the end of this, will he? His flirtatious comments are so blatantly obvious, please notice him.
- Shanks totally goes to Makino with his concerns about his love life. I mean, what would his crew know about love? Yasopp left his wife to get sick, afterall. Makino always tells Shanks the same thing. “You know, Y/n! She needs straightforwardness, she’s not the type to beat around the bush.” Shanks can’t help but frown ever so slightly. He really has to do that, doesn’t he? I mean... That is better then just waiting it out, i guess. Unless you reject him, of course. With the help of Makino, Shanks puts together the perfect confession! Equipped with flowers and all. You may be reckless, but your love for cute things is nothing but sincere. And, well... Shanks wants to show he cares for you and your interests.
- But before Shanks can confess, you run up to him. “You have a crush on me!?” Your voice is loud, echoing out through the ship. Shanks’ face illuminates with a slight blush. How the hell did you know that? The crew doesn’t care enough to interfere with that, and the only other person who knows is-. Makino...! That gossipy blabbermouth! “Damnit, Y/n! I had flowers and everything! I rehearsed all that confession stuff for nothing?” You two just stand there for a moment before breaking into laughter, grins full of amusement. “Why didn’t you say anything?” You can’t help but ask, inbetween your giggling. Shanks’ smile turns upside down, his eyes just full of exhaustion at that comment. “I’ve been flirting with you since you joined the crew.” Of course, you’re at a loss for words when he says that. You ignore the annoyed gaze on his face, your face going pink. “A-aw! I like you too!” What a mess of a confession. Truly fitting for the both of you.
Law x F! Reader : Finding out cute, femme reader is rowdy.
- When he first saw you, he was shocked to see you apart of a group like the Straw Hats. You were simply adorable, hair tucked into an intricate style, dress puffy and sweet. No way were you apart of such a freakish crew.. You were probably intelligent, a total sweetheart... Why did Luffy get the pleasure of having you around, and why did you ever pick this crew out of all the ones in the Grandline? Well, Law was certain to crack the case. Even if the answers he got weren’t completely ideal...
- During your time in Wano with both the Straw Hats and the Heart Pirates, Law finally got to spend time with you. But... His idealized image of you crumbled entirely the moment you opened your mouth. “Oi, Traguy! Your kimono looks weird, why are you still wearing your hat with it? It’s mismatched! I’m hungry... Can we find Sanji? I’m hungryyy...!” This couldn’t be... The beautiful, adoring Y/n... No way did Law fall for a copy and paste of Luffy. It made no sense... Even that Nami girl had more etiquette then you. Oh god, Law needed to purge this feeling for you out of his system. Sure, you were gorgeous and appeared all dainty and cute but... No, no, no, no. Feeling this way for somebody so obnoxious felt almost illegal, in Law’s eyes. How did he get fooled so badly? Law was meant to be worrying about scalping any more info about the country and it’s state, but he was far too engulfed in his own internal crisis...
- And your vanity in the Wano country made it all the more difficult. If Law hadn’t found you pretty before, it was sure to skyrocket as Kinemon styled you perfectly to suit the countries standards. Put together like a Wano noble, kimono decorated with the image of koi fish, obi tight and possessing a large, well tied bow. “Traguy, look! Aren’t i pretty? Hey, hey?” Law can’t tell if you’re aware of your effect on him. Are you trying to fluster him? Or are you just a moron? Law will try to ignore your question, but you never fail to return to asking, tone growing more and more eager each time. “Fine! You... are. You look pretty.” He refuses to look at you, immediately turning away from you and marching away. You beam, chasing after your ally. “Wait for me!” Everyone watches the two of you closely, all sharing glances. “Soooo, they totally like eachother, right?” Usopp asks, “oh, 100%.” Franky smiles widely, nodding at Usopp’s words. And of course, Sanji’s sulking in the back. His beloved Y/n-kyun... shes slipping through his fingers...!
- Even so, he still caught himself staring at you. Law often found himself admiring your smile, listening closely to your rapid words and loud laughter. God, it gave him a headache but his heart felt the opposite. Law felt his chest tighten, face going hot, every time you said anything. Even if you unknowingly said something rude or ignorant, Law couldn’t muster up the will to tell you to shut up. Your energy still felt so pure, so innocent. Nothing you did seemed to shatter his feelings for you, even as you slurped up your bowl of soba like a slob, or threw one of your crewmates into a headlock just for the fun of it. Law’s heart never ceased to adore you. His brain wanted nothing more then to see you as another Luffy, but his heart simply couldn’t. Sighh..
- Law refuses to ever tell you how he feels, let alone even consider doing so. You two are allies by obligation, nothing more. So what if he thinks about you 24/7? So what if he’s constantly staring at you in blind daylight? He sees no reason to confess. Not just because of well, the obvious points... He just finds romance pointless. As a pirate, Law just sees it as a waste of time. I mean, at least he did. But then he met you, and you flipped that whole perspective around. Law hates it! You have him picturing a more wholesome life in his head, full of fake, lovey dovey scenarios. You have him questioning what its like to be kissed, how your hands would feel in his... Totally not pirate professional of him to think about all these things. Damn you for invading his deepest, most personal thoughts...!
- “This is stupid, why do i like her so much?” Law asks himself, in the solitude he believes is within the bath house. “Ooo! Who do you like?” The moment Law hears your voice, he considers if drowning would be a painful death. What are the odds of you showing up to the empty bath at the same moment he let those words slither out of his mouth? Curse the wrong place, wrong time trope! Law simply ignores you, sinking further into the warm water. “Cmon Traguy! Can you at least tell me what shes like?” You sound excited to hear any hints, as you stand by the bath, your yukata hiding you from the shame of public nudity. Law lets out a harsh, deep sigh. You won’t give up unless he says something, will you...? “... Loud, never shuts up, seems to love terrorizing me at every turn. Oh, and she eats food like a dog.” The building is quiet once more, as you absorb and process the info to the best of tour abilities. Meanwhile, Law is planning the best escape route. He’d rather die then be near you, once you realize you’re the girl he likes so intimately. A loud gasp comes out of your mouth, making Law’s eyes widen. Oh god... Here it comes. “You like Luffy!?” You exclaim, eyes as wide as saucers as you stare down at the man. No way you were that stupid. You were just playing things up so he’d say your nams. Right? Right...? Law opens his mouth to object, to speak the truth but he doesn’t. He simply rises from the bath, towel snug around his waist. “I need a drink.”
