the funny thing about the Justice League is that a junior member can absolutely 100% walk into a Founders meeting and completely derail it by holding up their bleeding hand and saying “I think I need help?” and it’s over. Six different parental instincts get activated in one glorious, overlapping moment.

What was this meeting about? Who cares, it’s time to get the baby hero into the medbay. This requires all of them, of course. And then it turns out it wasn’t a bleeding hand but blood from a (hidden) chest wound and now that newbie is going to wake up to six different parental lectures being delivered bedside in the most embarrassing moment of their entire life.

Imagine Annabeth and Percy have a kid early, unplanned and it kinda fucks with their finances so Percy drops out of school to get a job so he can care for the kid and support Annabeth in school. At first he gets a job teaching kids sword fighting but then he hears about underwater welding which pays well because it’s dangerous but Percy is a child of the sea so it’s much less so for him. His boss is even willing to give him flexible hours which means Annabeth doesn’t have to take their kid to class anymore and they can actually afford daycare (why does is it the price of a mortgage nowadays???). A huge financial burden is lifted and Percy doesn’t mind the work so it’s good all the way around.

Fast forward to when Annabeth is done her masters in architecture and lands a job at a top firm. They’ve got savings and have Annabeth’s income to rely on. Percy heads back to school and finishes a degree in marine biology, going on to research some really niche topics like how underwater welding impacts the environment and shifting from there until he’s a well known expert in the field.

Just them finding their way. Supporting each other and landing on their feet no matter what

every so often you’ll catch yuuji just staring at you with a dopey smile and blushing and his pupils dilated all the way and when you ask him what’s up he just laughs and gets even more red when he admits “nothing. sometimes i remember i have a real big crush on you, that’s all,” he grins, blushing from ear to ear and leaning over to give you a kiss on your cheek, “and you’re sooooo pretty.”

this also happens to megumi, except his face is not nearly as love sick. he actually looks kind of angry, a small pout and furrowed brows that might signal that he’s upset but when you ask him he just scoffs and shakes his head, when he has to admit it: “i have a crush on you,” he says, very matter of fact, ignoring his burning ears, “it’s your fault. i thought the point of dating was that this feeling was going to go away.”

one time someone asked me “are you sexually open-minded?” and i immediately saw through that and said “i’m adventurous. but i know what i like and i won’t do something just because someone else wants me to” and sure enough, he ghosted. that was not “oh, we’re both doms, looks like we’re not compatible,” that was “i want to take advantage of someone with sufficiently low standards or experience that she’ll go along with whatever i want, and you won’t let me get away with that”. his was such an underhanded, leading question because no one wants to say they’re closed-minded, but having different desires from someone else is not being closed-minded. you’re allowed to be uncomfortable with or uninterested in trying a sexual act. i wonder how “open-minded” he would have been to my desires. be careful. even if you’re a sub who likes pleasing—especially then—don’t let anyone manipulate you.

So the GIW is the Ghost Investigation Ward and not the Ghost Extermination Ward, yes? Hear me out, hm? 

See, it’s really hard to study ecto-entities when they’re going all over in and out of the world. Really hard! And of course they aren’t like, sentient, studies for years before the boom in this one town showed this! But, the overgrown not-birds (they’re still debating that) are really hard to watch doing their natural thing when they naturally mimic people around them! 

So! They got this idea, right? Their operatives can capture some! They’ve even made enclosures based off of what they currently know! It’s like containing crows, down to the mimicry & puzzle solving just er, with opposable thumbs and intangibility. 

And they don’t succeed first tries of course (Wow were said operatives frustrated and maybe cursing a bit that might be a bit violently) but then they get some assistance from the Fentons! Trying to hit an ecto-entities’ wings in a way to not permanently injure them is hard, but the new net canons that a ghost can’t pass through? Perfect! 

They have so many specimens now! They even released a few that were very much uncontainable- they rely on technology a bit and that entity kept unlocking all the doors. So catch and release with that one it is!  

They even managed to catch the white-haired ghost! In double! Which might not seem that important, but! As they realize during intake & initial examination (wow are they bitey) the two appear to be young! Something their ectobiologists only theorized about but oh are they excited! (Now if only the two would stop trying to escape their enclosure that’d be swell! Look, toys! Foo- oh dear God that baby ecto-entity is melting- Oh few, okay note taken to raise ambient ecto levels in that room dear god that was horrifying and stressful. … Maybe get some feelers out for feeding unstable energy entities…)
