—AN INTRO TO MY (THE) FLASH REALITY

My name is Victoria Verona Valencia. I grew up in Gotham City. My parents, Arturo and Eva Valencia, were wealthy and a part of the elite society. They were also friends with the Wayne family. One night, when my parents and the Wayne family went out to watch the opera, they were held up by a mugger who shot my parents, and Thomas and Martha Wayne. Each of our parents died, making the two of us orphans.

Alfred got custody of Bruce and I since both sets of parents trusted him. Bruce was seven years older than me, so I was like his little sister. Years later, he became Batman and after some pleading, he agreed to train me. I became the Red Cardinal— Batman’s first sidekick when I was fourteen years old and he was twenty-one.

A year later, I met a boy named Richard “Dick” Grayson at Gotham Academy. Around that time, Bruce had adopted him and he became Robin, Batman’s second sidekick. We were best friends and even dated for a while.

When I graduated high school, I decided to retire as the Red Cardinal and to go to college. However, this time I would be in a different city. Starling City to be exact. Thankfully, I knew a couple people — Oliver queen, Tommy Merlyn, and Thea queen. More like the Queen family and Malcolm Merlyn (Tommy’s father), but I’d always been closer to Oliver, Tommy, and Thea than the others. Just like the Waynes and my family, the Queens and Merlyns were drowning in money.

Although I was closer in age to Thea, I hung out with Oliver and Tommy the most since they were adults like me, and Thea was still in the beginning of high school. I spent most of my college days hanging out with Oliver and Tommy. We’d go out to clubs, parties, etc. Spend nights getting drunk, hooking up with strangers, and having fun.

It somehow didn’t affect my grades, but it didn’t make Bruce (or Dick, my ex-boyfriend and friend) happy when they saw me on the cover of a tabloid magazine holding a bottle of tequila in one hand while a random guy was holding onto my waist.

After Bruce had scolded me over the phone, I stopped going out as much (although I went out now and then) and began studying more. I had always had a high IQ, so I just felt like studying was a waste of my time and energy. But after hearing Bruce sound so disappointed in me, I decided that I would change my ways.

After graduating college two years early at the age of twenty with a Masters Degree in Criminology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, I moved out of Star City—a bit before Oliver went missing on the boat with his father, Sara, and another man— and moved to Central City to go work at the CCPD as one of the forensic scientists there.

In all honesty, I didn’t need a job since my parents were very wealthy (and I was the sole heiress , so I inherited all of the money and properties), but I absolutely loved science. Therefore, I decided to work for something that didn’t pay much, but had to do with what I was passionate about. I applied for a position as a forensic scientist and I got accepted.

Then, I met Barry allen. It was my first day working at the CCPD and I was looking for the room I was supposed to be working in. He had just come out of the elevator when he noticed me looking around. He asked me if i was lost and I told him that I was.

He offered to show me where the room since it turned out that he was the other forensic scientist working there. We had a couple things in common like our shared love for forensic science, Star Wars, and dead moms. This was a couple months before the particle accelerator.

It was there at the CCPD where I met Detective Joe West and his daughter, Iris West. The two of us clicked almost instantly and became very close. She was a barista at C.C. Jitters which I would often frequent after finding out she worked there. It wasn’t much longer until our lives were changed because of a particle accelerator created by S.T.A.R. Labs.

rewatching arrow s1 and the whole Merlyn thing got me thinking. In regular cannon Bruce becomes Batman bc his parents are killed. In the flashpoint timeline Bruce is the one killed and Thomas then becomes Batman and Martha the Joker

What happens if only ones of them die in that alley? If Martha is killed but Bruce is alive is Thomas still driven to become Batman? If Thomas is the one killed would it still break Martha the way losing Bruce would?

In either case would witnessing the murder of one parent but having the other alive still drive Bruce to become Batman? or would he ya know get some therapy instead? How would hyper intelligent Bruce change if he wasn't driven by the loss of both his parents, would he somehow actually turn out to be a bit like Brucie Wayne? Or the most terrifying CEO Gotham has ever seen dedicating all that focus on to WE? Bit of both? Would he still somehow end up working with the Justice League if he wasn't actually Batman either just as funding or something like a version of Oracle? it's interesting to think about I feel like arguments could be made for a lot of different options

I think it would change a lot, tbh. Losing both of his parents wasn't just about having a lack of a parental figure in his life -- it meant losing an entire generation of knowledge, charity (to Gotham), and leadership. It meant Gotham started looking to him, and only him, for direction on the future of the city in lieu of his parents.

I like the idea of CEO Bruce Wayne emerging out of a one parent scenario. Martha would be an interesting choice for the survivor, simultaneously moderating Bruce's desire for revenge and helping him run WE, while also falling prey to her own mourning practices (or lack thereof, depending on how angsty you want to make it).

But no, ultimately I don't think he'd end up as Batman. A powerful, influential and driven figure, sure, but not the same vigilante.

BACKSTORY -

She’s Thomas ‘Tommy’ Merlyn’s daughter and he trained her to be an archer like him (her grandfather, Malcolm Merlyn, helped a bit too)

She’s a year younger than Mia Dearden (16, sixteen) and the two of them cannot get along because Daphne’s father was going to hand Mia back to her father. It also doesn’t help that even after being taken in by Oliver Queen, she kept her father’s alias.

The reason for her leaving her father is essentially that she didn’t want to commit crimes anymore, she just wants to live her life and go to college but Tommy and Merlyn want her to be their successor. So she seeks out Oliver Queen (who she knows to be her dad’s old friend & Green Arrow), he takes her in. But like she just left Tommy and Merlyn (aged 16) so no one even knows if they can trust her because she was previously running around committing crimes

Thea Laurel Queen ( February 25th ) – third child and eldest daughter, and she’s Ivy’s daughter through and through.  She picks up both the Speedy and Arsenal mantles herself and is the only meta in the family, and much like Robbie she eventually creates her own mantle.  She’s the embodiment of “too smart for her own good” (much like her mother), clever and strategic with a talent for puzzle solving in ways that seem like jumps to anyone else but are actually carefully thought out.  She’s also quite athletic, having always found success in every sport that she tries, but her favourites are soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, and archery. Determined to eventually take over the Vins Vallières & Chevalier De La Reine vinyards; named after Thea Queen & Laurel Lance

Harper Felicity Queen ( October 31st ) – last but certainly not least is the baby of the family, Harper Felicity Queen!  Harper is the only sibling to not have dabbled in vigilantism, instead she fully intends to take over the family businesses (Queen Consolidated and Knight Media specifically) with her father’s stubbornness and persistence and her mom’s cleverness and hard-working nature.  She has an endless supply of hobbies and is still very much in the process of figuring out who she wants to be, but she is equal parts sweet and ambitious and determined to never limit her options in life; named after Roy Harper & Felicity Smoak

On Hamas' casualties:

Prior to October 7, IDF commanders reported that 30,000 Hamas fighters were in Gaza

The IDF has killed a total of 13,000 Hamas soldiers since the start of the war, but have not explained how those numbers were found.

In January, Saleh al-Arouri was killed in an explosion in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. On March 26, the IDF killed deputy commander Marwan Issa.

The IDF leaks the names of people claimed to be senior Hamas leaders they killed. However the list ontained some duplicated names and even the names of civilians.

On that list was the freelance journalist Mustafa Thuraya, killed when an Israeli missile hit his car. Thuruya was travelling with two other journalists - Hamza al-Dadouh and Hazem Rajab. Rajab survived with severe injuries.

"'The IDF hasn't been able to get to the top brass of the Hamas leadership,' says Mairav Zonszein, a senior analyst on Israeli-Palestinian affairs at the International Crisis Group. 'Both on a symbolic level of getting to the main leaders, and also on the level of replacing Hamas as the holder of the territory, that's something that it hasn't been able to achieve,' Ms Zonszein says."

On the hostages:

Hamas took 253 people hostage on October 7. 109 were released for exchange deals and 3 were rescued by Israel. The age range of the remaining hostages ranged from 18-85.

The youngest hostages, Ariel (4 years) and Kfir (9 months) were reported dead.

Israel estimated at least 34 of the remaining 129 hostages were dead. They recovered 12 of the bodies, among them were the 3 hostages that the IDF killed in one of their operations.

Hamas claimed that the death toll was much higher due to Israeli airstrikes. This claim has not be verified.

On the tunnels:

Hamas claimed their tunnel network is 500 km (311 miles) long. This claim has not been verified.

When asked about the amount and proportion of tunnels destroyed, Israel replied that they "destroyed a great deal of the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza".

In November, the IDF released video footage of a tunnel network beneath the al-Shifa hospital, claimed to be a command center.

Of all the IDF's SMS messages from October 7 to March 26, 198 mentioned discovering a tunnel network and 141 reported destroying it.

36 of the messages mentioned striking a total of 400 tunnel shafts (places where the tunnel meets open ground). Destroying a shaft does little to the tunnel network itself.

The scale and extent of the missions could not be reported because the IDF did not detail the locations or specifics of the networks.

Daphne Richemond-Barak said, "given the scale and depth of Hamas's tunnel network, it is impossible to fully eliminate all of its underground military structure."

Over 1.7 million Gazans have been displaced, and more than 33,000 have been killed. 56% of Gaza's infrastructure has been reduced to rubble.

Israel warned Gazans to evacuate further and further south, where they continued to bomb them in the "safe zones."
