I think it'd be nice to post at least something positive that happened this week to balance out the negatives even if its just something little

#the cryptid talks #ill start #sis's kids started school again so i get a good amount of alone time at home #i made a nightmare b4 christmas art project that came out nice #i got to pet a beautiful black stray cat today and they were the loveliest lil baby #i leave food out for the birds so its nice seeing the sparrows and pigeons come by #my sis helped get me a ghost cardigan #been watching a lot of fall shopping and decor vids and it makes me excited for the season #gonna get pokemon tats this friday plus epic saga comes out tomorrow #and made a new witch oc with pumpkin companions c:#also watching reviews on the borderlands movie has been fun cuz its entertaining seeing people rip on it xD

Watcher March Madness

Starting tomorrow, March 16th, the first round of tumblr polls will be posted to decide on the fan favorites among these 16 Watcher shows!

Each round of voting will be active for a week so you'll have plenty of time to vote for favorite and convince followers and friends to vote with you.

All polls in each round will be posted at the same time.

Top 16 shows were mainly chosen by which shows have the most views, and that also determined their seeding position (as of data from Dec. 2023 & view counts for 2024 shows were rounded off).

Watcher Weekly was not included because it's mainly on Patreon now, so not available to everyone.

Tourist Trapped is great, but only had one episode, so it was removed from the running.

Making Watcher is only a semi-regular series, so it was also removed.

Watcher One-Offs have some banger episodes, but weren't included to make it an even sixteen.

This is all for fun and every show is incredible! There are no losers here. Please keep comments positive when campaigning for your faves.

i go back and forth a lot on my interpretations of ats s5, ie. what parts of spike are 'in character' or not, but the one thing that stays constant is my belief that spike and angel fucking would have fixed most of this.

#not that it would have fixed their problems i just mean it would introduce new problems that i would find entertaining as a viewer #anyways i don't like saying a character would NOT say/do that but sometimes i'm not sure if he (spike) SHOULD do that #in terms of showing off the more interesting parts of a character while also carving out a unique arc/dynamic for him on a new tv show #ats rw #i think what's misunderstood about spike is that he's NOT a solo sigma male lone vigilante bad boy action hero #like i think angel is actually the one who has a history of isolating himself #but spike is your friend who always has to be in a relationship (which i think btvs got correct with harmony)#idk. i think oz has that line in btvs where he's like 'i gotta go do that guy thing where i isolate myself now'#and i think that gets transposed onto spike when he goes on the 'guy show' doing 'guy things'#and then kinda blended up with the tension that many of the guys on ats experience between #being a tough guy capable of doing things on his own versus the desire to belong in a crew #but like. that's not a 'guy' thing that applies to all men. that's a thing that certain individuals experience. and spike is not one of the #like i don't think spike cares about how he fits in with society or the collective but i think he DOES care about how individuals #he's close to perceive him #anyways. today on 'reading too much into a tv show that stopped airing 20 years ago'#i gotta make a separate post about this #buffyposting

everyone claims they want people to think more critically abt stuff in general, especially in this digital age, but i get the feeling most people (yes, even very left leaning people), while claiming that we all need to use our critical thinking skills more often, actually only actually want people to think "in a way that confirms their personal biases" and not like, y'know, what is required of people to ACTUALLY use critical thinking skills, which is, in fact, ironically, the Opposite of using critical thinking skills 🤔

#using critical thinking skills requires one to accept the fact that you may be WRONG about stuff. even stuff you feel passionately about #Also: you can't use critical thinking skills and only hear one side of an argument #Not saying you have to like. entertain the 'other pov'#but you can't listen to ONLY left leaning news and call yourself someone who uses critical thinking skills #bc then you're only hearing 1 pov #and I say all this as a VERY left/liberal leaning person #using critical thinking skills requires one to accept that you may be wrong for starters #with an emphasis on 'may'#and that's a VERY uncomfortable feeling #AND--I don't think many people who claim they want more people to think critically... actually want to undertake that uncomfortable feeling #of thinking 'outside the box of their own personal biases'#it's something I personally struggle with. but it's necessary for being someone who uses critical thinking skills #this goes for people on ALL sides of the political and social spectrum by the way #funky's personal tag #just some thoughts from today...

I'm in awe of Louis Tomlinson❤️

Louis was so authentic yesterday, i mean, he could've changed the setlist, or his outfits, or his hair, and so many more things for 100k mostly(expected) mainstream people, but BUT this boy did everything the way he did on tour

Why?( I think)Because louis learnd the really really hard way that you only gain fans, so called forever fans, if you show them the most true side of yourself that you can,You sing the Songs that you like,you go on stage in your beloved outfits,you feel the emotion in the crowd and give it back, you make random things and don't try to be funny

I'm so excited to see what this year has in store for louis, his way with us is so pure and i only hope more people see him in the way he has to be seen(there is an explicit way to love louis)

My heart his so full at the moment and its not only pride,its like this right here is our history moment, the moment louis will experience and create something so much bigger than he ever dreamed of
