MY HERO CAMPUS: Alvin and Mina
Tumblr media
My version of Kirishima Eijiro and Ashido Mina for "MY HERO CAMPUS"! I decided to base her concept partially from Invader Zim XD
Alvin Mercury (Aka. Red Rebel) is a Canadian-American student of Argos University's Heroic Program, with Homo-Metan power "Hard-smithing", giving him a power to harden and blacksmithing his own body. He is also a member of the Argonaut Football team, Victor's best friend, but also Mina's childhood friend as the two came from same school. Alvin highly prioritize the trait anything akin to "manly" as hero's trait as he was immensely impressed by Perci's lack of superpower but peak human strength and raw skills on their first encounter. In fact, Alvin is very one of few who tolerates Mina's moments of "megalomaniac" or "just overall crazy" antics.
Mina Aracid (aka. HAWT PINK) is a hybrid of alien and human, born at Ontario, Canada with homo-metan power "Acidic Web". She is Alvin's childhood friend and one of the Argos University students. While she is too small to be in the Cheer squad with Perci, she became a new mascot girl of the team. Natural-born pro-shipper and matchmaker, she is determined to set up some couples and takes pleasure in watching the soap operas around her. According to herself, her grandmother is "the Almighty" of her colony planet as her father is the prince, and she has an adorable service robot who'd roam around the dormitory kitchen to make tasty waffles and pancakes. Mina has her own catchphrases is similar to common youths' exclamations of disbelief, excitement or anger's "shut up!"; "YOU'RE LYING!"

Gideon The Ninth by Tamsyn Muir-
“The Ninth Necromancer needs a swordswoman.
Gideon has a sword, some dirty magazines, and no more time for undead bullshit.
Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse. She packs up her sword, her shoes, and her dirty magazines, and prepares to launch her daring escape. But her childhood nemesis won't set her free without a service.
Harrowhark Nonagesimus, Reverend Daughter of the Ninth House and bone witch extraordinaire, has been summoned into action. The Emperor has invited the heirs to each of his loyal Houses to a deadly trial of wits and skill. If Harrowhark succeeds she will become an immortal, all-powerful servant of the Resurrection, but no necromancer can ascend without their cavalier. Without Gideon's sword, Harrow will fail, and the Ninth House will die.”
The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson-
“Tomorrow, on the beach, Baru Cormorant will look up from the sand of her home and see red sails on the horizon.
The Empire of Masks is coming, armed with coin and ink, doctrine and compass, soap and lies. They'll conquer Baru’s island, rewrite her culture, criminalize her customs, and dispose of one of her fathers. But Baru is patient. She'll swallow her hate, prove her talent, and join the Masquerade. She will learn the secrets of empire. She’ll be exactly what they need. And she'll claw her way high enough up the rungs of power to set her people free.
In a final test of her loyalty, the Masquerade will send Baru to bring order to distant Aurdwynn, a snakepit of rebels, informants, and seditious dukes. Aurdwynn kills everyone who tries to rule it. To survive, Baru will need to untangle this land’s intricate web of treachery - and conceal her attraction to the dangerously fascinating Duchess Tain Hu.
But Baru is a savant in games of power, as ruthless in her tactics as she is fixated on her goals. In the calculus of her schemes, all ledgers must be balanced, and the price of liberation paid in full.”

The fantasy of the influencer economy is to find an audience for your content, be swept away on the winds of the algorithm, and live a glamorous life with all the money you’re making. And someone is certainly making money.
Take adult web-camming, for example, a billion-dollar global industry in which content creators build up devoted followings as they stream themselves to meet endless demand. But far from the dream of mansions and diamonds and luxury cars, a new report finds that webcam models are often making pennies on the dollar in deplorable conditions where they face bedbugs and cockroaches, filth, and shared streaming equipment often covered in semen, blood, vomit, or feces.
Research released this week by Human Rights Watch shines a light on conditions in one of the adult camming industry's hubs, Colombia. Working with two sex-worker-led organizations in the country, HRW found that models stream for hours on end in filthy studios that provide the bare minimum of equipment and facilities. The studios typically keep workers under constant surveillance to make sure they aren't taking breaks, even to drink water. And most charge extra for essentials like soap, sanitizer, and tissues.
“There was an epidemic of rashes on our hands and fingers because of the dirty keyboards, and it just kept spreading,” one 33-year-old webcam model based in Bogotá told HRW in October 2023. “But really, the mental health issues are the worst.”
Many cammers come to Colombia's big cities to use studios because they can't afford a computer and other streaming equipment. They work to save up enough money so they can eventually go off on their own. But between the cut of the revenue that popular streaming platforms like BongaCams, Chaturbate, LiveJasmin, and Stripchat take, and the percentage taken by studios, models are left with very little. And perhaps worst of all, even if they want to switch to a different studio or save up enough to go out on their own, studio bosses almost always control the cammers’ streaming accounts and will typically refuse to release them—and the valuable followings the cammers have earned.
The situation is particularly complex, HRW researcher Erin Kilbride says, because the immediate, horrific labor abuses inflicted by studio owners can obscure the larger context—the report alleges that the streaming services lack corporate accountability about the human toll of content creation on their platforms.
“When we were talking with workers, they just wanted to get back to the cockroaches, how the studio owner charges them for toilet paper or makes them work when they're on their period. … And that’s completely valid because of course you are mad at the guy you know,” Kilbride tells WIRED. “But there's a whole other layer that has been left completely invisible. This is a billion-dollar industry that has been able to excuse itself from rebuke.”
WIRED attempted to contact BongaCams, Chaturbate, LiveJasmin, and Stripchat to request comment about the research findings. None responded. HRW says, however, that Stripchat updated its rules for studios prior to publication of the organization's report. A new section in the company's terms, “Working Place Conditions,” demands that studios provide “clean and sanitary facilities … complying with applicable hygiene standards,” among other stipulations.
HRW's report outlines crucial recommendations for improving conditions at both the studio and platform levels. This includes occupational safety standards for studios enforced with regular inspections. Models must be able to take breaks and receive a minimum wage for their work, studio management should not force models to perform specific sex acts or agree that they will perform any act on behalf of the models. Additionally, models should have access to a confidential reporting mechanism so they can notify law enforcement or other authorities about workplace violations.
Developing recommendations for the platforms themselves is even more nuanced. Kilbride says that most if not all of the popular adult streaming platforms have stringent authentication requirements for creating accounts and specifically prohibit studio owners or anyone from accepting terms of service on behalf of someone else. In practice, though, the companies are not doing enough, HRW researchers claim, to offer terms of service in a simple, understandable format in a variety of languages, including Spanish.
Platforms also need to provide channels through which content creators can report violations and receive a timely response, the researchers say. And, crucially, platforms should establish policies that enable models to take ownership of and transfer their accounts from a studio. Researchers found that the current status quo on many platforms involves policy language that may confuse its users or technical complications that keep content creators say prevents them from being able to assert ownership of their accounts.
On top of everything else, the stakes are particularly high for account ownership issues, because the researchers found that studios often use “recycled” accounts—those that were authenticated and established by one cammer and then retained by a studio—to circumvent minimum age requirements and stream child sexual abuse material.
“We found that although the platforms are quite strict and have completely clear policies about not streaming kids, the studios do still manage to hire and stream children using fake IDs or, more commonly, recycled accounts,” Kilbride says. “Our research was all with adults, but many people we talked to started streaming as kids when they were 13 to 17.”
Kilbride emphasizes that the situation reflects an important tenet of sex worker advocacy and labor reform in general: Listening to workers about their needs and the protections that would help them do their jobs most effectively and equitably also, simultaneously, protects other vulnerable populations. In this case, by allowing cammers to control and transfer their accounts and their followings, the adult streaming industry could also drastically reduce the prevalence of child sexual abuse material.

BESTIEEE SO MANY GOOD WIPS!! how can I choose 😭 but here you go 🛸🛸🛸🕸️🕸️🕸️
JEHEJEJ hiii bestie!!!
🛸 alien buck au
Believe it or not, there's a protocol set in place for every imaginable and unimaginable thing you could ever think of. When Eddie first became president and was told about this, he was pretty impressed, if not slightly bemused by the whole ordeal.
He remembers snorting and huffing as he read the protocols for when alien life is found in any territory of the United States, thinking it must have been some kind of joke.
“Did this ever even happen?” He recalls asking Bobby, the head of the secret service and Eddie's lifeline, pretty much.
“No, but we are ready if it ever does.” He answered, although his eyes mirrored the same skeptical, amused glint from Eddie's.
Now, though, he guesses it's good someone had the oversight.
🕸 spiderman!buck au
Somehow, his crappy night ends up with him on a stranger's couch, eating microwaved pizza with his Spiderman mask halfway on his face and watching a Spanish soap opera with some dude occasionally translating to him what's going on, but mainly just laughing at him.
He's sure they make a weird picture but honestly? It's the most fun he's had in a while. He leaves Eddie's apartment after taking a selfie for Christopher and he is reluctant as he steps through the window once again, the fresh night air of Los Angeles a startling contrast to Eddie's warmth and cozy living room.
“Thanks again, man. I really appreciate it,” Buck says, a touch of sadness in his voice at the imminent goodbye.
“Uh, have a good night— or what's left of it anyway.” “Thanks, Spidey.”
Buck snorts and shakes his head, shooting a web and flying off that fire escape with a heavy feeling weighting on his heart.
He really didn't wanna leave.

"What are you thinking about?" Wraith quietly asked her with a raised eyebrow
"I'm confused about what happened, because...why kill the biggest weaponry supplier of the goddamned web? It doesn't make sense" she murmured
"Yeah, it's weird, do you think they'll try to do the same with the rest? I mean, we take Green Chameleon and Black Swan out of the game, and they killed White Tiger" Dominique murmured now frowning "they only are three now, it's good for us, but I don't understand..."
"Me neither, but we need to continue...I don't think we can go one by one, we have to take the two apart of Red Dragon all down at the same time"
"Do you wanna use the second squad?"
"...No, we need teams like us"
"So?"
"Let's call Aly, she knows what teams can fit better in each mission. We can give her all the intel that we have, and you can coordinate with her about the time, day and team that'll help us"
"Well, Alyssa is certanly someone I can trust about this, but it worries me what Red Dragon can do if he knows we have allies like her"
"Include her into our back up plan, we can protect Lily and anyone who needs protection. Also, Price is Price, he'll be damned if he let's something to Aly"
"Don't be so sure, something changed"
"What?"
"Soap MacTavish was shot in England trying to stop Makarov and a bomb used for an attempted attack, he's stills alive...but Price and his people are erratic because of it" Wraith explained with a sigh "I can't predict what will they do, even if he will protect Aly and Lily as usual...I'm afraid I don't know the reach of his consecuenses now"
"...Then let's bring them to Black Tomb, we're a high security base and we can protect them better"
"I like that plan better, I'll call her as soon we finish here"
"Thanks Dominique"
"Don't mention it" she said while she went to prepare everything for the explanation
Alicia sighed when Wraith proyected part of the archives of Firewall, trying to wrap her head to tell them about it. She stood in front of the table just waiting, then looking at Jackson and Edward in silence, wondering what their reaction will be. Dominique nodded towards her at the same time that the old emblem of the operation appeared in the screen.
"Alright, before I start telling you about Broken Statue...you need to learn about the operation before. During many years the USSOCOM chased after a trafficant with connections all over the world, and in 2016 we prepared an operation to get him and get information about a nuclear weapon cache" Alicia said with serious voice "I was sent and Wraith was assigned as intelligence there as well"
"We talked with many superiors of the different branches, retired and in active service, to know which teams should go to the locations. There were six, and so were six places where we could find Anwar Carabalí, well...Orisha" Dominique intervened to explain the technical part "two from the Army, two from the MC, a SEAL Team and a team from the USAAF. Alicia, I hope you remember the places...?"
"I do, and the teams. SEAL 3 was sent to Casa Blanca, the 101th was sent to Yamena, the 4th from Raiders went to Cairo, the 720th went to Brazzaville, the USSOCOM sent the 8th from the Rangers to Beirut...and the 267 was sent to Luanda" she muttered while she looked away "by that moment, I was the command officer of the Task Force, and that same year they died"
"You were there...?" Edward whispered, getting pale as he shared a look with Jackson
"Yes, I was there as well as you were" she answered with tired voice "I continue, SEAL 3, the 4th, the 101st and the 720th didn't find much information, some things about some other sites, useful...but not what we were looking for. Instead, the 8th found about the cache and we found Carabalí, but it wasn't good, we got the worst part"
Dominique showed ten archives under the name "Burning Heaven", all of them were soldiers, and half of them were marked as dead.
"This is the case from Lebanon, they called it Burning Heaven after the trap was known. Their Captain, Taylor Smith, talked with me once I came back to the US...we were in the same hospital ward" Alicia admitted with a long sigh "they were locked into the room with the information, none of them were meant to leave that place, but they had charges prepared for any case, so they escaped. From ten soldiers three of them died for chemical exposition, chlorine gas especifically, two died days later because of their injuries during the withdrawal and exposition to the gas...the rest of them were hospitalized during more than two months because of the gas and the Captain was discharged of the Army for permanent damages to his lungs and throat"
"What I'm about to show you, is a recording of that day recovered from the body cameras of the three first soldiers" Wraith said with a stone face "you need to understand, everything that you see here, our enemies are replicating it. So be aware of the danger you'll be exposed from now"
"I'll be outside, I can't bear watch that, call me when that finish" Alicia said, walking outside without being able to look at anyone
Tumblr media
"Alicia" Wraith called, looking outside "it's time"
"On my way" she answered, walking towards the conference room
"Are you sure about this?"
"No, but I need them to know, I won't let the story repeat"
Dominique nodded with sadness, but followed her inside, where the ten Specters and the Colonel were silent, thinking. Then as Alicia took the pictures from the envelope and Wraith started to desclasify the archives, everyone looked at her.
"What you will see might change the whole perspective you have about me, and probably will stain all memories we have together" she said in a whisper that was well heard by everyone "I won't blame you if after this you decide to hate me or fear me, that would be understandable"
"All ready" Wraith said, making Alicia sigh
"At first se were supposed to raid the places at the same time, but for logistic reasons it wasn't the case. Instead, the 267 started the mission first and the other teams folowed, and that day was when we were declared MIA" she said with steady voice and shaking hands, making her cross her arms "someone betrayed us and we were ambushed by Orisha, once he captured us, we were jailed into one of his sutes in the middle of the angolan jungle. During two weeks and four days we were there, and...I was the only one who came back"
"Cap, but the inscription on the memorial-" Marcus tried to say, shutting up when he noticed the shineless eyes of his Captain
"I know, a helo crash...that was the excuse the CIA put for it, but the reality was other"
"What happened there?" Jackson asked, having a bad feeling
"Hell on earth" she muttered with pain "Carabalí wanted everything, the future raids, the members, the back ups and the equipments. As the officer in command, I was the only one with the complete information, and he tried to get it. At first he attempted with bribes and threats, when he didn't get anything about it, he started to use all kind of torture to make me talk"
It left everyone frozen, and instinctively they looked at Alicia's scarred arms and face.
"I never said anything despite what he did, for...a complete week I was cut, burnt, beaten, psycologically tortured and electrified in an attempt to make me tell them everything. And after that week, they learned about how loyal I am to my people and my ideals, so they started to use my team against me"
"What does that mean?" Luke murmured, thinking about the archive he accidentally found
"...During some days, after especially horrible times on that room, Carabalí's men took one of my soldiers and also started to torture them. I heard all their screams, and I couldn't do anything about it" she whispered while her grip over her arms became stronger, almost making little wounds "all of them had it worst, most of them didn't have the information they needed...those bastards just wanted to break me with them"
Alicia sighed, closing her eyes for a second, but shook her head before taking the envelope again. When she opened it she stared at them for a second, then took the pictures and walked towards the table, yet not looking at anyone.
"These are pictures that came to the light after the rescue mission, whoever betrayed us that time got this...this was us during that second week, our worst days"
The first picture was of a man, with his eye inflamed and his jaw in a weird position, also filled with little cuts.
"The Lieutenant, Richard Porter...he went as Blade"
The next one was a woman, her face was covered with dirt and bruises, her eyes filled with absolute fear and pain...and with bruises on her neck.
"Kate Petrova, Sergeant and the only other woman...she suffered the most, they did the unthinkable to her" Alicia whispered, letting a tear fall "she went as Hope"
While she whipped her tear, she left the third picture. Another man, muzzled, with blood running down from his forehead, frowning with anger.
"He was Leo Jameson, used to go as Tiger, our second Sergeant" she clarified looking away
When the fourth picture was left on the table, almost everyone was feeling sick, but they said nothing. It was a man too, with a long cut over the place where his eye should have been, but the eye wasn't there...and that was just one of his wounds.
"Sean Walker, Private, went as Marble..."
The fifth picture was a man, tired and filled of sadness, with part of his cheek gone and with his nose broken.
"Arthur Greenhill, Private, went as Lotus" she said, tapping at the picture with one finger "he...saved my life"
And the last picture left everyone frozen with horror, and Alicia was shaking as she put the picture over the table, trying not to see it. It was maybe as young as Francis if not more, with red eyes because of the crying, bruises all over his face, cuts and burns.
"...Jason, his name was Jason King. The kid went as Runner, a young one just sent to the 267 by that time"
As everyone tried to process everything, Alicia left one more over the table, calling everyone's attention. Every single soldier had to hold their breath and their desire to puke, because they now were staring at Alicia's picture during that time. She was staring at the camera with emotionless eyes, with all the cuts around her mouth open, with bruises all over her face and little burns going down her neck...the only thing missing was the huge burn scar on the side of her neck.
"They died because I was stubborn, because I didn't say anything, mostly after the Lebanon raid. And a day before the rescue team found me...I had to see them die" she said as she gathered the pictures inside the envelope and gave it again to Wraith
"Alicia" Dominique murmured, worried
"If I don't do it now, I never will"
"...Okay"
"Blade was first, they promised him our freedom if he killed himself and so he did in front of me. Hope was forced to drink machinery antifreeze, she...she begged me to help her, to make it stop" she muttered with broken voice, at the same time that her eyes filled with tears "Tiger was shot in the head, Marble...they left him to bleed out. Lotus had an option, or he used a red hot iron to burn me, or they'll bury it in my eye...he chose the burn and once he did it, he was shot. And Runner, he was alredy insane by that time, he just wanted to go home and once he looked at me and begged to take him home...they shot him as well"
"W-what did you do after that?" Noah asked, pale and scared
"Nothing, for hours I did nothing, I couldn't move for the shock...until I heard that Carabalí would be there the next day" she hissed while her eyes filled with anger again "I waited to the next day, and then I snapped. When I went to the old comms office, I digited a code that only US troops knows and that gave the sign to the rescue team"
"How many were...?" Elliot asked, having goosebumps
"There were 12 mercenaries inside" Wraith intervened, with obscured eyes "none of them survived. The causes of death were slit throats, broken necks, smashed traqueas and one with bullet wounds...but that last one wasn't Alicia's doing"
Alicia sighed, looking at her boys and at Alejandro, but they said nothing. She put her hands in front of her, for a second seeing in a flash how they were dirty and covered in blood.
"I know I'm a monster, I won't deny it, I was consumed by rage" she admitted, looking away in shame "I don't have any justification, but you needed to know"
"What happened with Carabalí?" Alejandro questioned, dead serious
Alicia and Wraith shared a look, and the Captain nodded towards the agent, who just sighed and went to look for a video.
"It's better to see it yourself"
[The camera moved with the person wearing it, getting near to the entrance of the prison site, which was pitch black inside. But some sounds alerted them, and all the rifles pointed towards the entrance, everyone expecting an army going outside to fight them. Instead of it, it was just a person who walked (rather limp) towards them.
It was Alicia Marchant, who just limped towards them with a metal box on her right hand and...a head on her left hand, Carabalí's head, dripping blood yet. She looked at them with a stone face, throwing the severed head to the ground in front of them, looking at all the soldiers.
"Orisha is dead, and there is the rest of my team" she said, pointing to a pyre "maybe even more soldiers under the soil"
After saying that, she limped towards the helicopter, with everyone getting out of her way because of fear. The camera noticed how she hugged the box against her chest, with a tight grip, and with a little tear running down her dirty cheek.]
The short video finished, while Alicia leaned against the wall, with her eyes closed and with a frown, don't wanting to remember.
"You okay?" Wraith asked quietly, walking towards her
"...Kind of" she admitted, feeling chills "it isn't the best thing to remember"
"I bet, I still remember those first nights when I visited you"
"Mmm"
"What do you think they'll say?"
"I don't know, but whatever it is...I won't blame them"
"But what about Alejandro?"
"I'm scared of loosing him" she admitted with a vulnerable voice "but I can't tie him to me without knowing my dirty secret, it wouldn't feel right"
"We can always go to drink if anything happens"
"Hmm"
"And about the boys?"
"I won't force them to stay, they're free to go if they want to"
For a second nothing happened, with Alicia already preparing herself for the hate, the screams, the scolding, while Wraith was ready to take her out of there. But when Luke hit the table, with enough strenght to make it sound like a thunder, they both jumped out of fear as Alicia reached instantly for her karambit. The red-haired Lieutenant was furious, cursing down his breath before standing up and start walking like a caged animal.
"If he wasn't dead, I would kill him myself!" he roared, passing a hand over his hair "that son of a bitch! He should've suffered as much as they did!"
"Calm down" Jackson hissed, livid as well "he's gone, but there's still a traitor. That's the one we need to hunt"
"We don't even know who is it" Alexander pointed, angrier than they ever saw him, but controlling himself "even if we investigate, how we will be sure that they won't have more power than us?"
"Oh, fuck that" Elijah snarled, furious as well "if we have to fight the goddamned president. We. Fucking. Will"
Alicia was seriously surprised just as Wraith, and they were equally confused when they shared a look, shrugging without knowing what to do. Then Alejandro also stood up, leaving everything in silence as the team glared at him, and walked towards Alicia while Wraith took some steps aside. The Captain looked to the floor, expecting the worst, but was dragged into a desperate hug on Alejandro's part.
"I'm sorry" he whispered, hugging her tightly, trembling "I should've gone there, I...I should've helped with the rescue. God, maybe if I didn't listened to my superiors and went anyway-"
"It's not your fault, Alejo" she whispered too, hugging him back "there was nothing you could've done, and I'm glad you didn't have to see me like that"
The man didn't say anything else, just kept the hug going, until he broke it and smiled sadly.
"Can you give me some time? I...need to think some things, before I do a stupid decision"
"All the time you need"
"Thanks, amor"
Alejandro kissed her cheek and walked outside, mumbling something down his breath with a worried expression, under Alicia's sad stare. Then Edward sighed and walked towards the screen that had that last frame frozen, turning it off before walking towards Wraith, who just nodded in silence. Soon the pilot looked at his friend, and he put a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it a bit.
"I'm happy you're alive" he said, with his eyes also filled with tears "sorry, I never noticed"
"Never say sorry to me, I didn't want any of you knowing this"
"Still, rely on us too. We prefer you alive, so don't overwork yourself and let us help"
Everything was in silence again, but slowly Alicia noticed how none of her boys was hating her, instead they were furious on her behalf. Even Francis, always the happier one, was spitting with rage as he learned everything, and let's not talk about the short-tempered ones. She couldn't stop a giggle, that called everyone's attention, and soon she was laughing.
"Cap?" Nicholas asked, confused and worried "are you okay?"
"Yeah, it's just...that's been a long time since someone was like this. Usually people wish I died there" she answered, looking at them with a touched smile as she cried "I'm just overwhelmed and happy that you want me alive! Sorry"
Everyone looked at her with surprise, even Wraith this time, and felt bad for the woman while she continued crying. Then Marcus took out a handckerchief, walking towards the Captain, offering it to her with a soft smile.
"Well, you've always been there for us and treat us like your family, Cap. And you're part of our family too, of course we want you alive! We'll stay by your side every time, doesn't matter what will happen" he said while she took the handckerchief "also, you're the only one who can control our craziness..."
Alicia laughed again, this time with joy, and then she looked at her team. They all were smiling at her, even Jackson was, and it felt...good.
"Well then, we still have work to do" she said, back with her usual steady voice, cleaning her tears "the traitor stills out there and even if I wish we can hunt them, Six Aces still are the biggest threat for us right now. Let's go for them, then we go for the traitor, you copy?"
"YES CAPTAIN!" they answered at unison, determined
"Then I'll talk with Aly, I'll bring news soon" Wraith said with a little smile "let's finish here as soon as we can"

Hey there! I am the Gentle Sourcerer. You may call me as such, or you may simply call me by my name, Jacinth. My pronouns are they/them. I am 25 years old, and I was born on August 22nd. ^_^
I like to help stim blogs by finding misplaced or missing gif sources in stimboards. If you want a missing gif or gifs sourced, send it my way and I'll do my best to find it!
All gif makers, stim blogs, and anyone in the stim community may interact with me. I am a resource for all of you and I do not discriminate.
Follow the tag "the gentle sourcerer" to see all my important posts!
If you request my sourcing services through an ask, your answered ask will be tagged as "visitor: @/your username". If you ask on anon, it will be tagged as "anonymous visitor". This is for your convenience if you lose the post with the sources I have provided for you or if you simply need to refer to them again.
A tag I use, called "commonly misplaced gif sources" will contain popular gifs I find the sources of for others and for myself. If you have a gif you cannot seem to find the source for and you know it may be popular, please have a look in that tag. For a more finely tuned search, add a simple descriptive keyword to the end of "commonly misplaced gif sources", for example "slime", "resin shakers", "soap cutting", etc., as I do add one or two identifying tags for these gifs so they can be found more easily. I will only put sources in this tag that are commonly stolen or misplaced.
The same rules apply for the tag "found sources". This tag is a catch-all tag strictly for all sources I have been requested to find, common or not, mostly so I can keep up with them in the event I need to refer back to them.
If a previously undiscovered source is found by myself or someone else, the original post in which my services were requested will be reblogged under "gentle updates", equipped with fresh links to the gifset in question and/or the original source video.
Any gifsets I create to replace old or lost gifs can be found in the tag "jacinth's gifsets".
The tag "source lists" refers to stimboards I have found most of or all the gif sources for, usually on request of others. I sometimes will do this as a courtesy as well. For stimboards I have only been asked to find one or a few sources for, they will be tagged as "re sourcing" and "links", though the links tag is more broad.
In the event I find gifs that have been purposefully stolen, as in re-posted for notes while lacking credit, I will tag them as "stolen gifs". This does not apply to stim blogs typically, I use this tag mainly for non-stim focused accounts that re-post gifs to farm interactions or to act as note bait for their own blogs.
And for all other asks of the non-sourcing variety, I use the tag "kind visitors".
I use the tag "gentle discussions" to chat with others about problems or trends within the stim community. I also use the tag "gentle reblogs" for posts I made for other purposes that received a response from the sender to which I will have reblogged with a new response.
Two very reliable resources I use for finding deleted or deactivated gif sources are the blogs @deletedstimgifs and @old-web-stims. Please visit them if you're struggling to find a source you know has been deleted, and simply search the deactivated user's name in their search bar.
Thank you for reading!

I just saw a job description with a fascinating set of technical red flags:
Milliseconds matter! Performance is key! Optimizing database access, algorithms, choosing the right data structures, in general working to design performant systems.
This is a C# job. Usually, if optimization actually really matters in a piece of software, it would be written in C or C++, or maybe Go, not C#. So this means that either they used the wrong language for their stack (and have no intent to switch) or they don't know what actually makes good software good and just put this on the job description to make it look sharp.
We write code from the ground up. We don’t use a lot of frameworks, packages, etc. Not a lot of macro-level stuff. Core software engineering chops is what we’re looking for.
Translation: "We like to waste a lot of time reinventing the wheel".
Our suite of systems is vast and varied. There are web services (REST, SOAP, hybrid), windows services, daemons, websites, libraries, command line tools, windows apps.
"Our services have no consistent interface, or guiding design principles, and getting them to interact with each other sensibly will be a nightmare."
We have plans to redesign several of the older systems, which will be a lot of fun.
"Our legacy codebase is so bad that we finally decided we couldn't fix it and instead are throwing it all out and starting over again."
There are a lot of system interfaces, both within our own suite as well as across teams in the organization. Plenty of opportunities for collaboration with a lot of smart people.
"We mentioned earlier that our services have no consistent interface, but have we also mentioned that there are a lot of them?"
We have immediate needs for refactoring and several enhancements to allow us to scale up to meet increased loads.
"The technical debt is so bad that even management thinks it's time to refactor."
We work with LOTS of data (many, many TB) & it comes fast! Scalability & heavy transactional loads, heavy reporting are common challenges for us. We solve a lot of interesting and tricky problems. Often not your typical collect/save/display that you get at other places. Not snapping into established frameworks. Working across tiers as required. Opportunities for more advanced coding.
Normally this wouldn't be a red flag, but when combined with the rest of the job description, it just really hammers home the point that it's going to be a huge pain in the ass to work with this codebase and a lot of "clever" hacky shit will probably be required.

Hey there! I am the Gentle Sourcerer. You may call me as such, or you may simply call me by my name, Jacinth. My pronouns are they/them. I am 25 years old, and I was born on August 22nd. ^_^
On this blog, I reblog the sources I have located or stumbled upon to be kept as an archive of sorts. Please refer to my main blog @thegentlesourcerer if you require services of the gif finding kind.
All gif makers, stim blogs, and anyone in the stim community may interact with me. I am a resource for all of you and I do not discriminate.
Two very reliable resources I use for finding deleted or deactivated gif sources are the blogs @deletedstimgifs and @old-web-stims. Please visit them if you're struggling to find a source you know has been deleted, and simply search the deactivated user's name in their search bar.

Ariel stared at the menu she’d taken. She squinted, tilted the menu, even brought it up an inch from her face. No matter how she looked at it, she couldn’t make heads or tails! She couldn’t read it. Some words did stand out it not enough to know exactly what’s written.
She still wasn’t use to land things yet, so maybe this wasn’t meant to be read? The redhead couldn’t read it anyhow, and though she’s seen others staring at the menu.. she bit the side of it. That’s the same moment Azul spotted her and he’s quick to approach the table she’s at.
“What Are you doing? That isn’t food!” He wasn’t particularly mad about the now ruined menu. Azul knew full well how difficult it was adjusting to land but Ariel should know better! Except he knew better to think that, as he witnessed her eating a bar of soap within the first few hours of meeting her directly.
Ariel looked up at him innocently with a frown. The object hadn’t tasted good, a half chewed ball on the table that she’d spit out. “What you do with this? It don’t taste good,” she pointed out lamely.
Azul stared at her a long minute before he answered. “That is called a Menu. It lists all the food options we sell here with descriptions. It tells you.” He made a gesture towards the menu but when he caught her confusion, he asked, “you can read.. can’t you?”
Blue eyes flickered from the octomer to the me I then back to him again. “Yes… except, English is hard. I don’t know what this means,” Ariel admitted quietly. Azul sighed in Response then glanced around the lounge. It wasn’t too particularly busy and the twins could handle it. He slid in right beside the princess and gently took the menu from her webbed hands. “Here, let me tell you what it all says.”
It’s his job as noise warden after all, to ensure all the Octavinelle students were well adjusted and able to prosper on land. And normally Azul would offer up this service for a pretty price except.. he knew who this was. He wasn’t going to make a deal with the kings daughter, in case things didn’t turn out in his favor.
Ariel hummed at the thought and she peered up at Azul, her stare intense. He felt his face grow hot and he cleared his throat. He tried to ignore how close she was, how fast his heart was beating as he began to read, underlining each word with his finger.

Yes to all of it. We oldies remember the days when we actually owned the programs we used instead of renting them off of the websites. Because that's what it is...we are forced to rent and keep paying rent on shit like Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator (and even our own damn simple functionality of connecting our computers to the internet. I was horrified to find that I couldn't just connect without the fucking cloud shit saving every little thing that I did ("OneDrive" SUCKS SO MUCH!).) As if we don't pay enough rent as renters, or even homeowners who RENT the fucking equipment in order to get internet service (with the fucking rental fee for the fucking modem).
This is fucking greed
Tumblr media
It's FUCKING GREED.
My 81yo father is a graphic artist (as well as a microbiologist and botanist) and he's complaining that his Photoshop doesn't work now. I told him that he needs to download the legacy CS2 (or 5 or whatever it is) and use that for free since the Adobe mfs are charging people rent now. CS2 is what I use. I OWNED THE DISK. Anyone can find the program online somewhere, find an old password crack, and get in.
When I was dirt poor and just getting my first computer out here on the West Coast, it came with a shitty Adobe program that was LIKE Photoshop; not as extensive (PhotoDesign? I forget what it's called now), but it still had layers...it was kind of like MSPaint but with layers and 50% more functionality. It was somewhere between Paint and Photoshop, but it worked just fine bc I could create the same things that I could if I had PS.
I wrote some pretty raunchy ABC Daytime Soap fic back in 1999 (the sex in there would put everything in Afterburn to shame). And I mean stuff that WOULD get me on the antis Wanted Posters. I used that shitty program to make the headers (yes, my fic had headers BACK THEN). I don't remember what website hosted them but it was one that accepted adult-oriented NSFW things/fic...it was an NSFW web host, if I recall I was formatting and FTP'ing it all and had a little website. I was even chatting with Catherine Hickland about getting her own website up and running because I was such a fan boy and back then it wasn't too weird to communicate directly with celebrities (I emailed Kate Mulgrew in 1997 because I found her Paramount address somehow, and she freaking responded to me 💀). Cat had no idea I was writing dark smut though, thank the gods. But anyway, I made all my headers, buttons, character bios, etc. with the free program that came with the printer and the headers looked no different in quality than the headers I make today. 1999 or 2024, just give me a simple program with layers and fonts and I'll make it work.
Ignorance is a product of laziness, not limitation. (Thanks, Cairo.)
Download legacy programs that you can get to work. Use them, and stop paying rent to The Man.
It should be illegal to require that any device or software connect to the internet just to run. I shouldn't need to log in with microsoft to open any of their programs on my local computer. All games should be playable without access to an online server. All media you pay for should be downloadable to local disk as a raw file and if they don't like that because they know you'll share it and upload it, tough shit. They took your money already, they'll live.

Modernize Legacy Systems Using Low‑Code
Legacy Modernization built on platforms like SAP, .NET, Oracle, Lotus Notes/Domino, or on-prem SharePoint—fuel core operations yet present significant challenges costly maintenance, frequent downtime, poor usability, and limited compatibility with modern tools.
Accro’s low‑code modernization approach offers a strategic alternative to costly rewrites or COTS replacements, a phased, scalable path to resilience and agility.
Extend: Rather than discarding legacy systems upfront, Accro builds modern, low‑code front-ends that integrate smoothly with existing back-ends. This extends functionality and improves user experience through improved interfaces—web, mobile, or IoT-enabled—without disrupting the core.
Migrate: Over time, modules are incrementally ported from monolithic systems to a composable, cloud‑ready architecture. By decoupling business logic and refactoring into discrete low‑code components, companies can migrate operations gradually, reducing risk while enhancing agility.
Replace: For systems approaching end-of-life, Accro delivers custom replacement applications developed rapidly via low-code. Tailored to business needs, these replace legacy systems with minimal cost and disruption—unlike generic COTS or resource-heavy traditional builds.
4. Microservices Modernization:
Using low‑code platforms' API-first approach, monoliths are deconstructed into scalable microservices. With APIs and pre-built connectors, these services are reusable, independently deployable, and ideal for CI/CD practices—supporting fast, reliable updates.
Why Low‑Code Works:
Fast development cycles: Visual drag‑and‑drop interfaces accelerate delivery—modernized apps deploy in weeks not years. Cost-effective scaling: Reusable components and faster builds translate to savings—lower TCO, fewer resources. Better security & UX: Fewer bugs, compliance with modern protocols, and an intuitive UI uplift end-user experience. Seamless integration: Built-in connectors/support for standards (REST, SOAP, FHIR, OData) and custom adapters enable interoperability.
Your Path to Digital Resilience: By partnering with Accro, you take a futureproof shortcut to modernization no more monolith bottlenecks, no more long waits, and no more legacy lock‑in. Instead modular, user-friendly, scalable systems built fast, integrated deeply, and ready to evolve.

How to Clean a Wood Fence Without Pressure Washing | KKR Fencing & Outdoor Services LLC
Tumblr media
A wood fence adds warmth, privacy, and charm to any property, but over time, exposure to the elements can take a toll. Dust, algae, mildew, and everyday dirt can make your fence look worn out and neglected. While many people turn to pressure washing as a quick fix, it's not always the safest or most effective method, especially for older or untreated wood.
At KKR Fencing & Outdoor Services LLC, we’ve helped homeowners across Erie, Cattaraugus, Wyoming, Allegheny, and Genesee Counties keep their fences in great shape without high-pressure equipment. This article offers a detailed guide on how to clean a wood fence without pressure washing, along with expert insight on proper maintenance and when it might be time for professional help.
Why You Should Avoid Pressure Washing Your Fence
Pressure washers are great for concrete and brick, but wood is a different story. The high force can strip protective finishes, damage the wood fibers, and cause splintering. Moisture can also seep deep into the wood, especially untreated or unsealed surfaces, leading to rot and mould growth later on.
If your fence is made of pressure-treated pine, cedar, or another softwood, you’re better off using a gentler, more controlled cleaning method that preserves the structural integrity and appearance of the material.
A Safe and Effective Cleaning Method
Start by rinsing your fence with a garden hose. This helps remove loose dirt, spider webs, and debris. It’s a simple but important first step that prepares the surface for deeper cleaning.
Next, prepare a non-toxic cleaning solution. One of the best options is oxygen bleach, which is safer for wood and the environment than traditional chlorine bleach. In a large bucket, mix warm water with a cup of oxygen bleach. If the fence is heavily soiled, you can add a small amount of mild dish soap to boost its cleaning power.
Use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the fence, working section by section and following the grain of the wood. Avoid scrubbing aggressively as this can cause surface damage. Focus on spots with visible algae, mould, or water stains.
Once each section is scrubbed, rinse thoroughly with a hose. Make sure to wash off all the cleaning solution before it dries, as it can leave streaks or residue.
Allow the fence to dry naturally for at least 24 to 48 hours before considering any additional treatment.
Using Vinegar as an Alternative
For a more natural cleaning option, white vinegar is another excellent choice, particularly if you’re dealing with mildew or mould. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, spray it onto affected areas, and let it sit for about 30 minutes before scrubbing. Rinse off with a hose once the area is clean.
This method works well for wood fences like residential cedar vertical fencing, pressure-treated horizontal fences, or shadow box designs that are often found in shaded, moisture-prone areas.
What to Do After Cleaning
Once the fence is completely dry, applying a sealant or stain is highly recommended. This adds a layer of protection that helps prevent moisture absorption, UV damage, and mildew buildup in the future. Depending on the condition of the fence, you may want to lightly sand the surface before applying the finish to ensure better adhesion.
KKR Fencing offers guidance and service for post-cleaning fence treatment. Whether it's helping you choose the right sealant or providing hands-on staining and maintenance, our team ensures your fence stays strong and beautiful over time.
When Cleaning Isn't Enough
Even with the best care, a time comes when cleaning isn't enough. If your fence has extensive damage, such as large cracks, missing boards, leaning posts, or signs of pest infestation, it might be time for professional repair or full replacement.
Our team provides expert fence repair services across Western New York. We handle all materials, including wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminium, and wrought iron. We also specialise in residential, commercial, and agricultural fencing. From fixing broken gates to rebuilding damaged sections, we bring experience and craftsmanship to every job.
Deck and Railing Care
Alongside fencing, we also install and maintain residential decks and railings. If your wooden deck or railing system is ageing or worn, regular cleaning and sealing can help restore it. And if you're ready for a full replacement, we offer deck and railing upgrades using wood, vinyl, and steel materials, customised for your home and landscape.
Fence Maintenance Tips
To keep your fence in good condition, clean it at least once a year. Remove nearby plants or grass that trap moisture. Avoid piling mulch or soil directly against the fence line, as it accelerates wood rot. Check regularly for loose nails, warped boards, or other minor issues that can be fixed before they become major repairs.
We also recommend sealing or staining your wood fence every two to three years, especially if it's exposed to heavy rain or sunlight.
Why Choose KKR Fencing & Outdoor Services
As a family-owned business established in 2017, we’ve built a reputation for delivering honest, high-quality work at a fair price. We serve residential, commercial, and agricultural customers with a full range of services, including custom fence building, deck repair, gate installation, and railings.
Our materials include pressure-treated wood, cedar, vinyl, chain link, aluminium, and wrought iron. We customise every project to meet the unique needs of your property, whether you're fencing a backyard, securing a farm, or upgrading a commercial perimeter.
We are proud to serve the communities of Erie County, Cattaraugus County, Wyoming County, Allegheny County, and Genesee County with dependable, personalised service.
Final Thoughts
Cleaning a wood fence without pressure washing is possible and often the smarter choice. You can safely restore your fence’s appearance and prolong its life with the right tools, cleaning solution, and technique. And when it comes time for repairs, upgrades, or full replacements, KKR Fencing & Outdoor Services is here to help.
