#Who are treated like geniuses and are valued for it

Part of the reason i like captain kirk as a character is that he will put everything on the line on the CHANCE that something can be done. He's always thinking that there has to be a way, and if not they'll create one. He's also so feelings-oriented and will fall back on his hunches when needed and his hunches are in fact treated as something sacred. I'm the same way in every regard and it's something i've always been criticized heavily for (I've constantly been told that i don't think things through and i'm chastised for being reckless). But that's how captain kirk is and he's treated as if that's his own unique genius. He's respected for it and we can see how if he weren't to take the risks that he does then they'd all be doomed in so many situations. This isnt really well written but im just thinking out loud here... ok... End post
#I feel like im being represented. Thats what it is#Society is so rational and utilitarian. And ive personally seen way more characters in media who meet this criteria#Who are treated like geniuses and are valued for it#While relying primarily on your feelings is denigrated#But spock is the character in this show who is logical in this way and his over-reliance on it is seen as a hindrance#Hes respected and valued for his talents but the show pokes fun at him a lot because he is so at war with his own self#And he thinks hes better than everyone else for it#For example. Im healing my trauma at the root#Society tells you over and over that it's impossible and that once you have ptsd you have it for life#But i said. NOOOOOO WAYYYYYY#And I spent years doing everything i could and seeking out knowledge and trying to understand the problem from the inside#In order to find a way. And for a long period of time i had no idea if there was a way out or not but i kept trying anyway#Bc i was certain there was a way#And i put everything on the line in order to do it#I had a captain kirk moment idk.#I just do shit. Always have. I can be reckless at times. But i eat life whole#captain kirk is the first time ive ever seen that shown in a positive light#You can throw all the logic at him you can that its not gonna work and hes like... No.... No theres a way...#And then they all find one.#Of course this can be confused with magical thinking. I used to have a lot of magical thinking. Where my child mind thought#that something was gonna work but it couldnt actually work#I think theres a difference

Let's examine some of the less talked about aspects of Dr. Ratio's relationship with the Genius Society as a character.
1. Did he really want to get into the GS?
The answer is, of course, a resounding yes! Or a confident no. Depending on who you ask. But what's the evidence?
The only direct evidence I could think of is this line from his pre-release interview on Hoyolab.

And whether or not it counts depends on whether you consider this kind of stuff canon (some people don't, since it's not in the game).
But at most, for me, it feels like an admission of a normal thing most young scientists would probably say (before he got completely disilusioned in the path of Erudition in particular and the divinity of the Aeons in general).
Like a young person who first gets into a sport might think about winning the Olympics. It doesn't feel like a passionate dream (the anime-esque "I'll dedicate my life to becoming a Genius whatewer it costs me").
What else do we have? His in-game fans' speculations and his former secretary's interpretation of a seemingly insignificant event (strictly speaking, that episode doesn't actually mean anything, let alone prove his wish to become a member of the GS. You can read me ranting about it here )
So the popular idea that his inability to attract Nous' gaze played a big role in his life and psyche seems more like a fan-popular headcanon (that might be the intended interpretation, but still a HC) than a strict reading of the canon. But who can blame us? This man desperately needed a personal inner conflict, and we kind of invented it.
2. What was the narrative point of making him not a member of the GS? What would have changed if he were a Genius?
I'm still not sure.
What distinguishes him from the Geniuses?
Is it the idea that the GS members only do their science for the sake of Nous? And aquire knowledge for the sake of it?
But we have Stephen, who invents things for fun. We have Chadvick, who built that weapon out of hubris. We have Herta, who kind of treats Nous as an equal. We have Dr. Primitive, who just does whatever because he's evil (what's the scientific value of turning people into monkeys?). Or that guy (forgot his name) who seemed to genuinely care about humanity. None of them seem fanatically dedicated to Erudition.
And we have Polka, who seems to be even more of a hater of what GS stands for than Ratio.
Wouldn't it be fun to have a Genius Ratio who saw all the problems with Erudition after he joined, got disillusioned and turned into what he's now, and who's just miserable about it all the time? Because becoming a GS member seems to be a one-way road. How ironic would it be for a genius to preach the idea of how people should not rely on geniuses?
But maybe they didn't make him a Genius to be able to make him join the Intelligentsia Guild?
But the only purpose of that seems to be his connection to Aventurine (the IG being partners with the IPC).
Otherwise, he doesn't represent the IG's values at all. He doesn't see knowledge as a commodity. (He even got angry at Sunday for expecting him to exchange the knowledge of Aventurine's plans for some knowledge on Stellarons). In most cases, all the other characters are very typical representatives of their factions. But in his case I'm not sure why he's in the IG either. Probably just a faction for him to belong to, because we can't have a character who doesn't belong to a world or a faction.
The only potentially interesting thing I can see about the IG is him being a member of the Council of Mundenites. But they did literally nothing with it. Although I still hope that they will (but who am I kidding, with the amount of ongoing plotlines and the new ones they establish left and right, they just won't have time for that)
Btw the IG in general seems like a lot of wasted potential. They had a whole SU update dedicated to it, and they did basically nothing interesting with it. But it's a topic for another discussion.
3. Why didn't he attract the gaze of Nous?
The game doesn't give us any strict criteria of how Nous chooses people, so we can only speculate. I know there are a ton of theories, but they are still theories (I think the one that's supposed to be correct is something about him caring more about helping people help themselves than doing science for the sake of it, but it has been discussed to death already).
But I never saw people talking about my favorite theory, and my main takeaway from Unknowable Domain - the mind-blowing discrepansy between the intellegence of a Genius and that of a very smart normal person. (How Patavia, one of the best IG's scientists, wasn't a match for Herta even with Patavia's intelligence multiplied tens of thousands of times by the scepters).
Which tells me that the intelligence required to become a member of the GS isn't a matter of just being smart or studying hard, but rather a matter of being born a VERY special person. I mean, if you were born an ant, no amount of training would make you as strong as an elephant.
Let's take Stephen Lloyd, a kid who's mostly busy working in his dad's fruit stall and playing video games all day long and sometimes just effortlessly inventing mind-blowing technology in his free time, basically for fun. I don't remember any mentions of his education either. And let's compare him to child Ratio from his professor's recollections. How he worked his ass off from a young age, basically sacrificing his childhood, only to just skip a couple of grades and get into uni early.
And if my interpretation is true, it could play very well into the underlying topic of predeterminism/destiny/fatalism vs. freedom/unknowability the game establishes.
This would turn Ratio's rather simplistic supposed inner conflict of "boo-hoo, senpai Nous didn't notice me and didn't invite me into their cool kids club" into something much more interesting: Dr. Ratio, whose whole life goal seems to be about helping people take the responsibility for their lives into their own hands and stop counting on the higher powers, realizing that the biggest dream of his life could never come true and literally no human or inhuman amount of efforts would get him here. He would never achieve something others can do effortlessly just because he wasn't destined to.
The other interpretation works too: there are mentions of the Geniuses "communing" with Nous after attracting their gaze, so maybe their inhuman intelligence is partly the result of that. Not being able to achieve by hard work and sheer dedication what others just receive from a deity would clash nicely with his "anti-theist" philosophy too. Or maybe explain his current views. I mean, there is a certain sarcastic reverence in how he talks about Geniuses, distinguishing them from humans as a separate category.
What's ironic and kind of sad is that the game proves him wrong over and over again. I mean, who are the most powerful characters, both in-universe and in terms of meta? It's not normal humans who worked hard. Normal humans do nothing but wait to be saved by supernaturally or technologically enhanced beings (mostly us). And sometimes even by Veritas "Normal Person" Ratio himself.
#my stuff#honkai star rail#dr ratio#btw none of that is meant to disprove other people's theories#it's all too vague to reasonably argue about it#we are left to speculate

Quick while I made some stuff for the Murase AU not too long ago, some overdue asks (with doodles) under the cut!
First, while Kunikida and Dazai are indeed referred to as partners, in practice the ADA doesn't seem to really care all that much about consistent pair-ups. They seem to mainly go with who's available for what job at the moment, but let's consider those pair-ups the "default". I am not original at all and think it should be Ranpo. For flavour. Kunikida isn't here yet, as far as we know, since he would be just a teen. Fukuzawa said he started the ADA to give Ranpo the opportunity to help, and to "arm" him. And what can Chuuya do if not be very efficient backup!! And also rhymes and stuff with Chuuya getting paired with another genius. (and if Yosano isn't busy with like, medicine studies and stuff, she can come too for maximum chaos)
-
To be honest I don't like the implication here that Dazai doesn't treat others like humans. Don't mix up his habit of not sharing his full plans with disdain for people! Even as a teenager Dazai saw value in being surrounded by others, and he defended Chuuya's humanity against all odds. He is rough and learning but he always operates with people's feelings and motivations in mind. Ranpo literally saw others as inferior to him for a long while, it's fine, it's not that deep. Both geniuses have qualities and shortcomings but they both care a lot.
The comic a made recently was about that: since Chuuya got used to Dazai being the genius who knows everything and predicts everything, Ranpo would have to do some pretty impressive things to get the kind of respect he wants from Chuuya. Like, this guy has a big mouth, is lazy, is whiny, can't get around on his own, can't fight on his own, and yet he's supposed to think of him as better than Dazai? And he's using some ability to cheat too?? Come on. (he will recognize his skill though. in due time. he will learn.)
-
Murase is not gonna steal Fukuzawa's job!! He can be like, an honorary uncle. The inside guy. The funny man who embarrasses Chuuya once in a while. Just a dude who has seen a lot and knows a lot and likes working with them. A gentle man, if you will.
-
How would an interaction between Murase and Dazai even go.
*disclaimer: the nature of the life threat may vary, from yourself to your conditions
I think Murase would re-categorize Dazai as "Chuuya's friend" (despite Chuuya's wishes) once he joins the ADA, because if Murase thought Chuuya could leave the underworld to live in the light, and he himself strives to do better than the crimes he committed during the war, why would he refuse Dazai's growth and wish to help?
-
Fukuzawa brings Chuuya with him to the local cat café because he needs to have a talk with his new teenager in need of guidance
(have a reading recommendation by the way)

(that is a joke but i do hope you like it :3) Once again, sorry this is late :(
WANDERER
The students that studied at the Akademiya could be divided into several groups.
There were the hard-workers, who weren't particularly intelligent by birth, but fought tooth and nail to drag themselves up in the ranks. That group occasionally overlapped with the truly passionate ones; who were so invested in their pursuit of knowledge that little could stand in their way of it. There were the underachievers, the overachievers, the visionaries and the slackers. In each classroom you were bound to have at least a handful of each.
Then there were the gifted ones. The ones who breezed past every subject with ease, who were pushed as the representatives of the Darshans, to show outsiders how talented and dedicated their students were. The geniuses, the prodigies, the virtuosos. They were the students that treated their intelligence as a prize to be flaunted above the rest, who would lazily fill out their test papers and be returned with perfect grades, who managed to both value their knowledge above all else and take it for granted. Out of all the Akademiya scholars, those were the most arrogant and truly insufferable ones.
Wanderer fell into the latter category.
He joined their class later in the year, and settled in as a permanent thorn in everyone's side. Every addition to their scholarly discussions was gasoline on a dying bonfire, strategically placed to set the class aflame. He'd raise his hand with disinterested corrections to other student's theories, followed by irritating opposition to whatever stance the professor was attempting to take, all sprinkled with a pinch of disdain and the most unpleasant attitude one could possibly have.
The most infuriating part, was that he was never wrong. His logic was sound, every addition was justified. No matter how sarcastic or scornful-sounding his interjections were, they were never without reason. And a week into their class proved him to be one of the most naturally exceptional minds in Vahumana.
Maybe [Name] would admire him if being around him didn’t make them want to throw a book at his head.
That first week in their class had solidified two more things. First, if Wanderer was going to act so cocky, then it was their sworn mission to make sure he was knocked down.
Second—
“The answer is D. All of the above.” Wanderer yawned. “Honestly, you call yourselves scholars—”
“Actually, it’s not.” A voice rang out, clear and steady. “You could argue that it’s all of the above if you were looking at it from a very elementary perspective, but once you actually start to analyse each answer, you’ll see the flaws in them all. All except one, that is. The answer’s C.”
“[Name] is correct. The answer is C.”
He turned, eyes narrowed. They fell on an equally hard gaze. There was something fiery there, as if they were raising a challenge. He met them with a smirk, as if he was accepting it.
—They were not friends. They were rivals.
Precisely why they couldn't work with him.
“Please! Can I be paired with anyone else?” They begged, face falling further with every passing moment that their professor remained unfazed. The rest of the class had vacated the lecture hall already—all eagerly chatting about their chosen topics—leaving the two of them alone to talk.
“I have full faith in you, [Name].” The professor said calmly, sitting down at his chair and shuffling papers into an orderly stack. “This is a simple assessment.”
The assignment itself wasn’t the difficult part. A straightforward research project in a subject of their choice, one that related to the topics they’d been learning that semester. It was supposed to help lead the class into their further studies, to gently ease them into researching on their own and prepare them for when they would have to write their final thesis.
It was the easiest of tasks, but the problem wasn’t the task itself. It was who they’d been chosen to work with.
“Group projects are designed to test how well people can work together with others.” He sighed, and leaned back on his chair with a pensive expression. “I don’t like all of the people I have worked with in my studies, but as academics, it is something we all must suffer. And besides; if I regrouped everyone who complained about their partner, I would never stop changing them.”
It wasn’t as if they were trying to be painful. Finishing a group project would be easy, had they been partnered with anyone but him.
“Just try to make the best of it, wont you?” A smile flashed across his face. “Perhaps you might even make a friend.”
Friend was far too hopeful of a thought. Friend was the last word they would use to describe—
“Wanderer.” They hissed under their breath, his name poison on their lips. “Trust me, Professor. I will not.”
The two students arranged to meet in the library. Or, more specifically Wanderer had appeared right as they left the classroom and told them, “If you’re finished complaining about me, come to the library tomorrow at eleven.” before disappearing.
The library was once their solace, where they could study in peace away from any distractions. The sounds of pages turning, faint whispers, and pens scratching against paper provided a comforting ambience to their research.
Now, it was—
“You took long enough.”
“It’s not my fault you’re impatient.”
Something considerably less homely.
“I have several ideas,” They said.
“Of course you do.” Wanderer scoffed. They ignored him.
“We could do it on Ancient Deshrat.” They mused, skimming across their notes. A stray strand of hair fell into their eyeline, and they tucked it behind their ear mindlessly. “We looked at them earlier in the year, a little before you joined the class. They have a lot of interesting traditions we could look at—maybe a comparison back to modern Sumeru, to see how the influences carry over.”
“I don’t care. Just choose one, and tell me what part you’re doing.”
They inhaled slowly, forcing the anger down and running the professor’s words through their mind. It’s one project. Once they were done, they never had to work with him again.
“Fine,” They snapped. “I will work on researching whatever information we need. You will write up an introduction outlining… outlining…” Their words trailed off to make way for a huff. Once again, their hair had fallen into their eyes, and they pushed it out of their face impatiently.
“Just move it out of your face, it’s not that hard.” Wanderer said snippily.
“Oh, thank you, I would never have thought of that.” They retorted.
“Well, I don’t see you doing anything useful, other than swatting at your own forehead.”
“I’m moving it out of my way! We can’t all have a bowl-cut!”
“Then braid it.”
“I—” It wasn’t a bad suggestion, as much as they loathed to admit it. “I can’t. I can’t braid my hair behind my back, and I don’t have anything to tie it up, even if I could.”
They lapsed into silence, Wanderer staring at them like he didn't quite believe them.
“I could braid it for you,” He said suddenly. They looked up at him, blinking.
“You… want to… braid my hair?” They repeat slowly.
He huffed. “Are you seriously that slow? Do you need it written and signed for you to understand?”
“I just find it hard to believe," They said defensively.
“You were complaining about it being in your way." He said, extending each word slowly like they were a child who couldn't quite understand what was going on. "The less you complain, the faster we get this done, and the less time I have to spend working with you.”
"Fine." They say, fighting back a blush.
"Fine?"
"Just do it, already."
His hands were oddly careful against their hair, raking across their scalp to comb through the knots and tangles. The feeling was soothing, almost cathartic. It would be far too easy to close their eyes and sink into the feeling.
They weren't quite sure what they were expecting. Nails that felt more like claws? Rough tugging on the knots in their hair, just enough to be painful? Surely something uncomfortable, to match the animosity between them. Nothing quite as soft as this.
“This is kind of surprising to be honest. You don’t seem to be the type to be good at braiding hair.” Their words sounded a touch too nice, so they were quick to add, “—Especially with that haircut.”
A shiver ran down their spine, as gentle hands ran through their hair. It was freshly brushed, and by then he must have already worked out any knots, yet they ran through it anyway, as if their intent wasn’t just to untangle it.
“I braid my… Aunt’s hair, a lot.” He said suddenly, pulling them from the trance. They make a hum, a quiet signal for him to continue. “She’s the one who showed me how to do it.”
“I didn’t know you had an aunt,” They said, without thinking. The thought comes a moment after: Of course you didn’t, you don’t know a thing about him.
Wanderer didn’t seem fazed. “No, we only became close recently. She… she’s done a lot for me.”
They waited for him to elaborate, but his quota for abruptly sharing information about himself appeared to have been filled. Instead of talking, he fixed his focus on their hair, dividing it into three sections and brushing his fingers through to neaten them. One by one, he twisted them over one another until he reached the end of their hair.
“Do you have anything to tie it up?” He asked. They shake their head, and he scoffed. “Of course."
Still gripping the end of the braid, he used his free hand to rifle through the inside of his bag until he pulled out a loose piece of ribbon. From there, he quickly tied off the end.
"Now stop complaining," He sat back down and leaned back in his hair nonchalantly, as if he was unaware of the static filling their mind. All they could focus on was the phantom feeling of hands—his hands—on their scalp.
It shouldn't have felt pleasant, not when those were the hands of someone they despised.
“Are you going to continue?”
"Right..." They cleared their throat, a strange heat against their cheeks. It was stark, out of place. They ignored it. "Where was I...?"
FURINA
[Name] stared across the ballroom, a drink in their hand. On the opposite side, a woman in a blue dress tipped back her head in a laugh and held her hand over her mouth. It wasn’t her true laugh, the one that sounded like tumbling waves and sweeping currents. It was the specially curated laugh she made for laughing at jokes she didn’t find funny, in front of people she didn’t like.
Furina turned, catching their eye. She smiled, far too casually, and raised a hand in a tiny wave. For the first time in a while, she wasn’t wearing her gloves, leaving the skin of her hand exposed.
They didn’t need to ponder what the feeling of that hand in theirs was like, after holding it countless times, until the weight of it caused phantom pains in their wrist. They didn’t have to wonder about her lips on their cheek, or her arms around their waist, when they were sensations that had been burned into their skin.
They averted their eyes, instead of returning the wave. There wasn’t any point dwelling on the past, or exchanging pleasantries with their ex-lover.
Maybe if they had been informed of her presence ahead of time, they wouldn’t have come. That way, they’d never had the chance to do something as foolish as reminisce on people as painful as Furina. But Navia—sweet, kind, oblivious Navia—had invited them, unaware of their messy break-up.
The split wasn’t either of their faults. ‘Grown apart’, could be used to describe it if you were feeling cliché. Perhaps a more accurate description would be ‘grew too close, until their roots were tangled with each other and their thorns were too deeply buried in each other’s sides, that removing them would hurt more than letting the relationship fester.’ It was a classic tragedy; two flawed people clinging desperately to each others’ side, until the haze of romance cleared and said flaws drove them apart.
The split was mutual, made for both their sakes. That didn’t mean it didn’t sting when their lives—previously entangled and interwoven with each other—were torn into two. Suddenly they were alone, and half of their existence had up and left.
It hurt, the split. But they knew staying would hurt more.
“Excuse me,” The voice was so soft, so excruciatingly familiar that if they kept looking away, they could convince themself it was just a hallucination. “[Name].”
They couldn’t. They couldn’t do it. At least while staring into their drink, they could enjoy the voice as a pleasant dream.
“[Name], please.”
But they never were strong enough to resist her, were they?
Their resolve crumbled like sand. They looked over, and there she was: as breathtaking as she looked the day they first met her.
“Hi,” She whispered. It was one word, and all too much.
“Hey,” They respond, keeping their voice low to seclude the conversation to the corner of the room.
“How have you been?” Furina asked. They tried not to let their face fall at the words. Before they broke up, there wasn’t a need for small talk, or even greetings for that matter. Their conversations would taper off into quietness or end completely, and they would pick right back up the next time they spoke. Questions of how they were, or dull observations about the weather had no room to fill the silence, when that space was filled with a comfortable kind of quiet.
“I’ve been well.” Far too stiff. The old [Name], the one that was Furina’s lover, would never let themself be so formal with her.“And yourself?”
“…Well, as well.”
In an effort to fill the awkward silence, they blurted out “I heard about your…” What was it exactly? Demotion? Abdication? Dismissal? “…I heard what happened. About how you’re not the Hyrdo Archon anymore.”
“Ah, yes, I figured you would have heard about that.” She rolled her eyes, part of her mask slipping. “There isn’t a person here who hasn’t…”
They cringed inwardly at how their choice of conversation made the silence even more uncomfortable. “So… what are you doing over here?”
She grinned in relief at the topic change. “Darling, we’re at a party; there’s one obvious thing we could be doing.”
“What’s that?”
Furina extended her hand, folding the other behind her back. She smiled coyly, a million words dancing on the tip of her tongue, all unsaid. “Well, the reason I came over here, of course. Will you dance with me?”
Letting the conversation lead on this long was dangerously close to letting her back into their life. But what was a little more danger, when the music was so sweet and Furina was offering the chance so freely? It was just a dance, nothing more.
They placed their drink down on a nearby waiter’s tray, and took her hand.
Furina’s lips parted into an O, momentarily surprised by their willingness, but she quickly recovered. She tugged on their hand to bring them further into the centre of the room, taking one of their hands and placing it on her waist, and intertwining her fingers with the other.
She swept them across the floor, twirling and spinning past the rest of the couples. One step forward, a step back. They let go of her waist to spin her in a circle and she let out a giggle, sounding like waves crashing on the shore. The sound made them breathless.
Furina replaced her arms around their waist, stepping so close that they were only a breath away.
Their eyes drifted to the windows, reflecting the ballroom. In it, they could see all of the couples pressed together, while the orchestra played tirelessly off to the side. In the centre was one pair that fell directly under the ballroom’s chandelier lights, a beautiful woman in a blue dress, and… well, them. Beyond that, they could see the night sky in the background: hundreds of shining stars and a full moon staring back at them.
“The sky is so pretty,” They whisper.
“It’s beautiful,” Furina agrees, not taking her eyes off them.
The song ended, fading off in place of a more upbeat tune. Furina didn’t remove her hands from their waist, barely acknowledging the change. It wasn’t quite dancing by then, simple swaying in place with her arms around them. They didn’t care enough to move.
“Would you like to have tea with me, sometime?” Furina asked. The words were more than an invitation; they were the keys left in the lock, letting them through and back into her life if they so pleased. An I don’t think that’s a good idea would be easy. A no would be easier. Instead, all they said was, “I would like that.”

Hivemind HC's (IEYTD)
Because he doesn't get enough love 💛
- He is somewhat southern: canonically has a very slight southern accent in the developer commentary and we know he was born in new Mexico (wiki)
(I like to imagine he also lived in Bee Cave TX for a bit, for the pun AND because im a huge TF2 nerd) --- - I feel like he has a HUGE sweet tooth, and he brags about the fact he gets to use his bee's honey and comb He will leave small treats out in Zoraxis HQ and lobbies, just tempting people to take one so he can praise his bees publicly, makes a HUGE scene about it: Zor worker 1: "Those honey biscuits in the lobby were so good, where are they from-" Zor worker 2: "SHHH dont he will hear you-" Zor worker 1: "Relax man who are you even talking about? its not like im praising the EOD i just really like these biscuits!" Hivemind: "THE BISCUITS YA SAY?? why THANK you! me and mah sweet bees made them to PERFECTION!! you will find no better honey anywhere else, y'see bee keeping is an ART- (10 hour spiel) Zor worker 1: ... Zor worker 2: "look what you've done". (they were really good biscuits though, Hivemind is a surprisingly good baker. Terrible cook though, only baking) --- - Rough exterior, sweet interior He is 6'0 (wiki) and southern, writes formally talks a little crazed and while he is a beekeeper he feels like he would have a decent bit of bulk too. not to mention he's relatively smart, he has to be to sit in a position near Zor. Other workers are scared of him, partially because of his bees and partially because he is ... eccentric (crazy) But on the inside? sweet as honey. He shares pastries with everyone, values even the smallest of bugs, and is actually more appreciative of the average Zoraxis worker than most other higher ups (That doesnt mean hes nice to them though, he still sends his fair share of nasty emails, especially when his bees are at risk) He uses his bees because, similarly to Dr. Prism, he finds them more reliable and would rather not cause the death of someone on his side. Before and after Dr Prism left he was the supporter/caretaker in Zoraxis. Agents of Zor could go to him for anything and he would help, and even with his intimidation after a while it became an unspoken rule. Zoraxis is like another hive, and if there are even minor issues it can disrupt the colony. He knows this well, thats why he personally spends a small amount of his budget to buy lunch for those that forget it; Work clothes for those that cant afford it; and so on. --- - He has more than one hive: his real bees and the Zornets: He is very protective of both, it takes a lot to outwardly move this man but if his bees die or a Zornet gets damaged he will be inconsolable for a small while after the mission --- - He was totally friends with Dr. Prism, in fact she probably helped make the Zornets with him. They are both exentric geniuses who get undermined constantly, how could they not get along? even after she returned to the EOD they still keep in touch, occasionally sending bug facts or robot things to eachother in solidarity - John juniper? not so much I think that they did NOT get along, John is way too full of himself and aristocracy for Hive- i grew up on da sout in my pa'hs farm- Mind. The first time they interacted Juniper insults his bees and gets TACKLED by a 6'0 beekeeper Both got a very harsh chewing out for this incident --- Let me know if you would like more!! i love hivemind but sadly we havent seen much of him (IEYTD4 PLEASSEEE)

Lookism JJK au, your thoughts?
HIIII VENVEN😁😁😁
also very disorganized and brief brainrot-esque parallels and thoughts about lookism x jjjk ahead (JUST FOR FUN. these are pixels and it's not that serious 😭) :
. yamazaki, kageroi, cheonliang are like the great clans. the provinces in south korea from where the four crews, allied, ansan public, etc. belong are like the various jujutsu tech schools.
. charles choi is a sorcerer who lives long enough to become a corrupt exploitative higher up.
. the workers orchestrate the culling games.
. gapryong as toji, geniuses, he who must not be named type character, dead in the first act, haunting the fuck out of the narrative, changing the trajectory of people's lives, phantom of the past and apparition of the future.
. gapryong also as toji because he is a broke deadbeat who is despised by his children!
. daniel park as yuuji itadori. little miss sunshine in a world full of horrors. being hunted for sport by those in power. the final piece in dismantling a corrupt system. emo boys estranged from their families are in love with them and would die for them. all they have ever loved keeps turning into stone. important familial ties that are the crux of their stories.
. jay as megumi fushiguro. deep suicidal ideation, has never won an idgaf war in the face of love, daddy ruined their life, sister genuinely cares but is ultimately powerless in reversing their fates, dripped TF out, actually very powerful, hated by their respective creators
. gun as gojo satoru. like the balance in the yakuza shifted after his birth. the power gun inherits is a burden to him but he also loves being the sole one to possess it.
. he and the world around him are separated by an impermeable barrier, the boundary between the weak and the strong. he enjoys enacting violence upon his enemies just for the thrill of fighting, just for the sake of knowing he is the strongest, and also since it is the only time he realises he exists as a real person. the strong existing on the pinnacle of a lonely mountain (throughout heaven and earth, i alone am the honored one)
. he has great, unparalleled power, but can hardly connect with others. he isn't treated as a teenager when he's young, and he's hardly seen as a mortal. he is treated with derision and resentment by almost everyone.
. gun as gojo also because of. eye horror. seeks a warrior's death as freedom and release from their solitude.
. jinyoung would probably be like choso. clear thinker who isn't very emotional until it involves their family. values family and brotherhood a lot. capable of cruelty and profound vengefulness, but also monstrous indifference towards what isn't important to them. is a parental figure toward a younger child whom they care a lot about.
. goo and kinji hakari. a very self-absorbed individual who doesn't confirm to societal morals and traditions. doesn't perceive isolation that comes from being powerful. doesn't suffer from loneliness. has a strong mindset and clear goals. living their best life. very questionable allies.
. also would love to parallel gun and goo with hakari and sukuna, respectively. hakari spares his opponents while sukuna destroys them. gun nurtures talents while goo uproots them.
. gitae is also like sukuna, if you think about it. selfish, cold-hearted, immoral, and exceptionally sadistic. has committed parricide. wants an younger relative dead. eyes with such lunacy, you will only see them in eastern european snuff films.
. james lee and kenjaku, because identity theft is a competition and they are winning. impossible to tell their real age. act as a perfect foil to the main character and their ideals. slay, but traumatizing.
. GETO AND JAKE. HEAR ME OUT. pleasepleaseplease. firstly because MOTHER. secondly, there is a certain darkness and fluidity about the way they're written.
. family-oriented and self-sacrificial. empathetic and charming. entire friend group in love with them. graceful and gentle. REEK OF YIN SYMBOLISM. unhealthy coping mechanisms to their respective situations, and have a tendency to isolate themselves. very insane psychotic mentally disturbed but those details are somehow ALWAYS overlooked and oversimplified. very gnc coded. a reason behind their downfall and unravelling is the existence of a very powerful man, and their damning association with said man. did i mention being irrevocably in love with their best friend?
. jake's big deal and suguru's cult.... hmmm... i feel like the possibility of all those possibilities being possible is just another possibility that can possibly happen!!! influential girlbosses that people folk to!
. samuel is so naoya-esque. obsessed with powerful men who don't know don't gaf about him. my fav delulu.
. mary as yuki!!!!! perhaps stronger than the one considered to be the strongest...
. ELI AS YUUTA-[i get dragged from the podium and thrown in quicksand]
. jichang being very very nanami coded not only because of the aesthetic but also because the impact of their death on the main character...
. VASCO AND TODO. literally the realest people around the main character (not elaborating further)
. vin and maki. their metamorphosis from a bug being trampled upon to venomous insects, catalyzed by the injustice and abuse suffered by the people closest to them, horrible family, physical appearance portrayed as an element of monstrosity,
. LMFAO JAY BEING INUMAKI TYPE OF CURSE USER IS A VERY REAL POSSIBILITY TOO
. johan and kashimo because of the nuclear hazard levels of crumpled receipt wet sock energy
. the shaman(shinmyung cheon) as naobita zenin. the REAL naoya would definitely be taejin!
. so that makes samuel higuruma. impeccable dilf divorced dad of three vibes radiated by these two.
. LUA IS SO VERY NOBARA CODED. YOU WON’T GET IT BUT I DO.
. jiho's presence in this au would be like riko's or junpei's. definitely not comparing him to riko. NEVER. just the way his existence wreaks irreversible damage to the main characters. also the transformation into a monster bit for junpei??? THAT'S juvie jiho. jake takes his darkness as a catalyst for hate and revenge. he toys with jiho and feeds his hatred... he doesn't complete his metamorphosis quite because jiho is weak, and that's his tragedy!!!
. this is so badly written im ctfu but if you read up to this point thank you!!!! much appreciated

rant under cut ab dr ratio
i know we don't know much about his actual personal life just yet, but it feels less like earning nous' gaze is earned by intelligence but rather drive to your field. your passion willing to push the boundaries of what's known- ruan mei as an example.
until ratio does something worthwhile like idk, preventing the mass extinction of sentient inorganic life in hopes of stopping an egopowered supercomputer (screwllum vs emperor rupert i) or continued to actively reject the genius society despite MULTIPLE INVITATIONS (ruan mei) or having mass intellect, developing the simulated universe from an OUTSIDE LOCATION and being acknowledged as insanely smart but refusing to actually use it (stephen lloyd) he won't ever be acknowledged by nous.
it isn't a matter of humanity, empathy, or anything like that- hell there's still genius members we haven't met because they're all various levels of too invested in their work, introverted/anti-social, or something else that has nothing to do with morality.
dr ratio's prime drive outside of spreading knowledge is spreading himself outwards. he has ego, he actually put an entire space station in danger just to try and prove a point. like why hasn't anyone talked about that? dr ratio putting the station in crisis just to stick his nose up at a small group of people-- two of them not actually caring at all, by the way. the entire conflict of the space station issue with dr ratio's introduction was entirely focused on ratio and screwllum.
and you cannot say ratio has empathy-- he makes his students cry without care, his class has an insanely low graduation rate, he's quick to insult first due to his own admitted bias before actually listening to someone (see: ratio actively insulting aventurine's race and lack of intelligence first). he refuses to debate people because he automatically declares himself a winner. his entire philosophy of 'spreading knowledge and curing ignorance' is counteracting his own actions with how harsh and refusing he is to accommodate to students. even if students that do graduate out of the 3% become experts... that is an insanely low number for a guy who taught 52 courses.
and we know why some of the geniuses are the way they are or why they seem less empathetic. like ruan mei's trauma with the death of her parents and the failure to keep family promises (seen in chara stories 1 and 2) caused her to spiral hardcore into trying to bring them back and nearly broke the biology of the abundance on her planet. she didn't eat until needed, didn't sleep, she was literally in a daze working.
or screwllum! while we don't know much we know that not only does he hate any mechanical constructs that follow rupert i's orders (which are to destroy organic life) he is utterly fascinated and enchanted by life. his own invitation by nous to join the society actively prevented the IPC from wiping out all mechanical lifeforms, further prevented due to his own intervention.
ratio is insanely fascinating, but he is not as empathetic as it seems. he's rational, logical and a jackass; knowledge and being able to carry a title is first to him, with how narrow of a birth he has within education. many degrees he has, but they're ranging from philosophy, mathematics, biology, and whatever- nothing within the realm of history, the arts, languages or literature. an argument could be made here that ratio specifically values mathematics and sciences above other aspects of knowledge, leaning into his bias, but that's just me.
"but his note to aventurine!" was a note explaining how he had an answer to aventurine's previous question. acheron had more of an impact on aventurine's almost-death in the dreamscape which makes sense, seeing as her entire thing is with nihility and death. it doesn't surprise me he figured it out, as he is a philosopher.
"what is death in a dream?" is a great philosophy question and would've been a treat for him to pick at and solve.

Author!!! We know how RO are against puppy eye’s from MC
But how are they to puppy eyes from their baby or toddler?
Cassandra: 5/10 - It does melt her heart and she might bend on small things every now and then; like 15 more minutes before bed. But otherwise she refuses to be pushed around by her kids, she is a strict mom; embodiment of "I'm not your friend, I'm your mom" though she does it 100% out of love.
Valeria: 9/10 - She is the exact opposite of Cass, she is her kids best friend and prefers trying to talk them into doing what they should. But if they look at her all cute and want to stay up all night they can, but that won't stop them from having to wake up early; she would warn them. So, they can do what they want at their own risk.
Tomás: 8/10 - He loves his babies and would die or kill for them no question asked. They are his world and they mostly get what they want from him, but at the end of the day he is a good dad. So there does come times when he has to suck up the pain that feels like a stab in the heart that always comes when he has to deny them what they want, for their own good. The sad puppy eyes only adds more pain, like an extra cannonball through the chest. Definitely hurts him more then them.
-
Ludovica: 100/10 - Would die before making her babies sad. Her absolute everything right next to MC, I mean; she adores them because they have bits of MC in them (either by blood or personality). Her babies are basically angels sent directly from heaven in her eyes, pure perfection. When she falls in love; she is down bad for MC, she is basically under the ground for her kids.
Aurelio: 9/10 - Also a simp for MC, still a simp for his kids. He would go above and beyond for them, he is also forever the fun parent so any stupid idea the kids want to do will 100% be indulged to some degree. And trust me, as I have said before; any kids of his will be stupid little geniuses just like their father. But he also would make damn sure to make them value what they have, they won't be spoiled and realize just how blessed they are to be given what they have. They use their puppy dog eyes knowing full well that with great power comes great responsibility. They honestly would probably beg their dad to help fun crazy charity ideas and he 100% will and do so very proudly. His financial advisors will be weeping quite profusely though.
Elio: 7/10 - Treats his kids better than most people. Indulges them quite a lot and can be very easily swayed by them. Similarly to Val, he will remind them of consequences of their actions however. "Yeah you can jump on the bed even though MC told you not to, but don't cry when you fall- oh well, there you go. Oh hush now, it can't of hurt that bad. Do you at least see why they told you not to do it now? Don't get mad at me when your the one who did it, quit crying and we can get some sweets before MC gets home. I won't tell them if you don't."

Tooru Oikawa (Haikyuu!) vs Michael Kaiser (Blue Lock)
Tooru Oikawa

64.media.tumblr.com
Sport: Volleyball
Appearance: (1): brown hair, brown eyes, japanese (2): Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Height: 184.3cm (pre-timeskip), 185.5cm (post-timeskip) Nationality: Japanese --> Argentinian
Propaganda: (1): Now you might have heard of Oikawa Tooru. The so-called "Great King" of volleyball. An exceptional setter. An unbelievable player. He is one of the most talented players in the series. On the surface, that may just sound like "Oh so he's just really good at volleyball big deal." But we have to take into account HOW he got good at volleyball and how that interacts with the others around him! Let's take into account one the most famous lines regarding his character: "Talent is something you make bloom. Instinct is something you polish." This is a very huge line in the series. Oikawa, like many of us, is very aware that anywhere you go, there are "geniuses." These are people who appear to be naturally gifted, those who are better than their peers effortlessly. Oikawa is not one of those people as it has been directly stated that "Oikawa Tooru is not a genius." He sees the value in his own training, improvement, and dedication. And it is that mindset that propels him to be one of the best. (2): Oikawa Tooru has had a great passion for volleyball ever since he was a child. After watching a professional setter play, he has followed his dream. He's described as someone who would continue playing volleyball for the rest of his life, by his childhood friend, and it's exactly what he does! He traveled across the world to play volleyball on a world stage as during his school days, his team could never make it to a national tournament (due to very strong opponents in their area preventing them from participating in a country wide competition). He got to play in the Olympics! Isn't that great!!! He's someone who is attuned to his team and brings out the best in the other volleyball player teams!! He works hard!! Has learned not to push himself too much, and ultimately remembers that the sport he loves is fun :)

Michael Kaiser

(Image by @variabels here I was given permission to use the image, please do not use it without the artist’s consent)
Sport: Soccer
Appearance: Blonde hair with blue streaks, light blue eyes, German
Propaganda: Kaiser is a character that most people hate at first, only to later reluctantly accept how amazing he is. He is arrogant, but he has every right to be so. He’s a prodigy forward in the under-20 division and is regarded as one of the top 11 best players in the world in his age group. He has amazing spatial awareness and great shooting skills. In one chapter of the manga, he literally kicked the ball in midair with a bicycle kick (where you’re upside down), and the ball then passes under a defender before landing into the goal. With strength like that, you can’t help but close an eye on him being an asshole. But although I keep roasting his personality, he also has his good points. He is quite charismatic when you’re on his side, and this is best displayed in his relationship with Ness, his partner midfielder. In one match, Ness was on the verge of breaking down in fear of losing, but Kaiser easily pulls him back up. He tells Ness to just move like how they practiced and leave the rest to him. And seriously, who wouldn’t feel relieved when someone offers to remove the pressure off their shoulders and tells them, “And believe. For me, nothing is impossible.” Kaiser is such a complex character that even my feelings for him are complex. I hate how he treats Ness like trash most of the time, I hate how he keeps getting in the protagonist’s way, and I hate how he’s always so full of himself. But at the same time, like Ness, I can’t help but be drawn to him. Aside from being an insanely good player, he’s also a very compelling character. We are yet to get his backstory, so I really wonder how his superiority complex came to be. Right now, I am following the manga, eagerly waiting for the moment I see him break and lose it.

elaborating on nuance in post-apocalyptic settings
a huge part of the drama in this setting comes from the different reactions different groups have to the change that's taken place. people who remain obsessed with the technology of the before times can be doomed cultists or misunderstood geniuses. people who give up on the old ways and embrace the new world can be misguided fools or secretly the only sane ones. generally the group that's in the right is the one that merges the old and new. but even if you write a story where that's your message, there can be a tendency to portray the people who throw away everything from the old world as ideologically pure and good. they are noble in their pursuit of living off the land, strange as the new land may be
moon of the turning leaves made me think about that concept and how it's tied into pastoralist fantasies. this is a book where the characters could very well have said "our ancestors made arrows with stones and feathers. we don't need synthetic arrows" but they don't. they do say "our ancestors hunted their own food, we don't need canned chili" but like, reusable objects that have already been made are valued. other Anishinaabe groups the main characters meet also wear scavenged factory-made clothes and live in houses with metal roofs. it's not treated as all or nothing based on ideology, it's about using high-quality materials that are available to you. it's interesting to me bc I think there are white writers who make characters live purely off the land bc they think that's what stewards of the land like historical Indigenous people would do. but here's an Indigenous writer who says "nah, I bet even people who greatly value their traditional culture and language would still wear sneakers"

This statement makes a lot of post-menopausal women feel a certain way. It also makes women who might one day be post-menopausal feel a certain way, and also people who might not be women but who maybe see women as full human beings in their own right. This is for good reason, and that reason isn't that many women, post-menopausal or otherwise, don't want to help raise a younger generation. Anyway, Vance's guardians and promoters are complaining that it's unfair to ascribe the words of the podcast host to his guest. Perhaps so. Vance after all only replied "yes," which is a word that can mean many things, and only all of those meanings involve positive affirmation. But even if he agreed, he didn't say it. So OK, maybe it's not fair. Poor oppressed JD Vance! It might be a bit hard for Vance to dodge the rap, though, since he's spent so much of his time in recent years agreeing with creeps who say creepy shit about women, and being a creep who says creepy shit about women in order to impress creeps who say creepy shit about women, and generally just acting like the kind of creepy little suck-up who calls women "females"--which is to say one of a whole passel of moist pallid online dudes who freebased Jordan Peterson throughout the 2010s and antisocialized themselves into treating relationships with women as a sort of transactional warfare between sexes, in which men are bold adventurers looking for sex and family, which are natural human connections they seem to view as video game achievements to be bestowed upon them if they enter the proper cheat code, in which women are hidden clay jars containing sex and family, to be discovered and then once found added to the inventories of adventuring men as acquisitions. A number of these creepy perverts got rich on tech or crypto or whatever, and they think their wealth makes them geniuses instead of just wealthy, and the ones who didn't get rich through tech or crypto or whatever seem to think the wealth of the others conveys genius upon themselves, so now they go around talking about themselves as Alpha Chad masters of the universe, and speak of other human beings like they're fodder for their whims, and generally sound do their very best to sound like eugenicist mad scientists in Victorian novels.
Either way, it strikes me that this is a decent microcosm of how these creepy dudes talk about women and children and other humans: as property to acquire if it has value, as a thing from which to grow that value for itself, extract value and then discard once the value is extracted, to sell off or ignore the losers, and to always always always take all the value for themselves. Women and children and other human beings and human structures have a whole point, to be defined and measured by them, while they and only they get to be the whole point of themselves. So this also strikes me as a decent way of looking at the way they think of society, as something that exists for them to acquire and own and use, instead of a natural occurrence that is made by all of us, that creates a generative, sustainable, inheritable value that ties us all together, to which we all owe a responsibility, not to fulfill by fitting a role defined by some master class, but simply by fully being ourselves. This is what's so noxious about Vance and his long line of creepy podcast hosts and thinkfluencers and the money that backs them both. We are all human. We don't have a point within society. We are society. This means that the whole point of society is us. It exists to sustain us, and while we bear the responsibility to be ourselves within it, it is a thing made by humanity and for humanity. It isn't a big box store to buy for billions and then sell off for parts.

this is suuuuch a fun question yippee
toji: his entire piglet era was pretty repugnant, but he hurt himself with that first and foremost and he's in recovery now love and light
shuichi: taking advantage of/facilitating the spread of the app, which endangered literally all of tokyo and enabled the machinations of the very people who put him and all the other clones through hell, but also was inevitable so like 🤍 vriska moment + i don't think he should be judged that harshly for it. he's DEFINITELY killed someone though, almost certainly more than one person. also considering he fights with a non-app weapon, he's like, 100% severely injuring other players on a fairly regular basis but 🤍 he's allowed to do that. he gets both a girlboss pass and a 'loves his baby brother' pass, in addition to the neurodivergent and a minor card, which adds up to him being a perfect blameless darling actually 🤍. also outing claude to babs' would have been pretty fucked up if she didn't literally deserve it
duo: holy SHIT. what he puts shuichi through in faking his kidnapping through chapters 7/8, then The Confrontation & staged abandonment in 8, and then by chapter 9 exposing him as a clone to CLAUDE of all people. just like, the way he treats shuichi in the main story (and likely other loops as well if the yog dungeon loop is any indication), very deliberately manipulating his emotions, is... disturbing. all to maneuver him into actions THAT SHUICHI GLADLY WOULD HAVE DONE IF HE'D JUST ASKED. like, you examine it and you can understand where he's coming from! but the fact that he genuinely loves his brother & Does All That to Help and doesn't seem to be acting out of resentment for him at all just makes it more disturbing imo, even if it does arguably make it slightly less Morally fucked intentions-wise. like there's something about a patronizing sort of callousness, especially to that extreme, that's just like Worse to me than a callousness borne from plain old resentment. (you have to wonder who he's even modeling this behaviour from 😶). but then you think about the Genius role he's trying to emulate, and why he's trying to emulate that role and it's like... what other way was there for this to unfold lol. cainbaiting aside, there's also his tendency to set off Exceptions in populated areas, which i think would literally be a war crime, but he gets a baby pass for that one 💛. (ADDING THIS AS I WRITE BABS' SECTION) hey actually how much of what went down in chapter 8 did duo deliberately engineer
cullen: creating life frankenstein-wise alongside bertro & aisaac i GUESS 🙄. f to breke or w/e but she was literally playing house with her brothers, baby pass 💙. also she wasn't especially nice to him i GUESS, but like... from WHOM exactly is she supposed to learn the value of life lol? let alone treating the life you create with the consideration it deserves? it's obvious where she's modeling that behaviour from! baby pass, and if you say anything bad about her i kill you in real life 💙
bertro: having a frankenstein moment as well 🙄. also dropping the moon on tokyo in an attempt to permanently kill literally everyone, but like. it's quite likely memphis tennesse manipulated him into doing that, and even if not you LITERALLY cannot blame him.
avi/aisaac: frankenstein again, but aside from that. complicated question. at the very end of chapter moon, it was set up that aisaac has been like... enforcing the facility's continued control over the other Geniuses, but to my understanding, that was dropped in his debut chapter. it's still true in my heart though. but another thing that's true in my heart is that the aisaac that would have acted as the facility's enforcer isn't the same ai that the original isaac (avi) created. aside from that, he seems to have like... SERIOUSLY fucked some people up mentally? tenuous baby pass until further notice
arc: straight up war crimes! but their mom asked them to really niceys and they feel reallyyyy bad about it sooooo.... they still are willing to literally torture people outside of those circumstances but it's REALLY funny. to me. the neurodivergent and a minor card does not excuse them being catholic however :/
babalon: another holy SHIT, in much the same vein as duo's. the sheer destruction wrought on the walled-in wards aside, bc it's not clear how much of that the finishers were directly responsible for & moreover because it was inevitable/deliberately engineered by the people actually holding the cards. 😬 (edits duo's section). and also because she was right! but her manipulation of the protag and especially arc, who she had to have known wouldn't be able to bear being responsible for the destruction she was planning in addition to the destruction she had outright asked them to cause- the fact that she manipulates them for that reason, specifically to absolve them of responsibility. going so far as sacrifice azathoth- one of her other children, more helpless than either arc or the protag- specifically to unbalance them. the scene where she STABS HERSELF ON BOUNDLESS TAIL... if the protag were an actual character that probably would have been one of the MOST traumatizing things to happen to them. babs was the MOST impactful antag in the game to me, and she was horrifying as she was sympathetic. very interesting compare/contrast to duo now that i think about it.

a stinking pile
i dont know where to begin
breaking down the huge pile of self loathing i have grown within me.
the walls of my heart are splayed black
and i smell like burning sulphur.
my thoughts are disorganised
and my feelings are out like an open wound, free for people to examine
but even that has stopped now, just flies keeping me company sometimes.
i want to know the ways to treat myself decently enough,
but each time, i am shot down in the midst of getting up
and now the trying part is coming to a halt.
as not giving it a go,
saying to others and mainly to myself
that if i tried, id be unbeatable,
is the easy way having a lesser chance of a heart breaking.
but coming to the realisation
that i tried and did not succeed
was all i achieved this year
and it hurt.
the only value i possessed within me
or more so thought that i did
was not based on practical terms,
but spoken word from others and as a result from me,
that i have that said potential.
its dangerous, living in a world that values geniuses
because they stand nowhere
and are nothing in comparison to people work,
who put in the hours, fighting whatever slack comes their way.
and all i have gained my whole life
has never come due to my efforts.
so in a way
i am and have nothing.
and nowadays i find that comforting.

It bothers me the way society
Have benefited from Disabled people, Nuerodivergent people, and Mentally ill people.Yet can constantly disrespect or erase parts of these peoples stories when it suits them
Let’s Use Van Gogh for an Example as I think about him a lot
Vincent Van Gogh
Was Schizophrenic ,Autistic, had Major depression, and had Addictive tendencies.
If we like Vincent Van Gogh as an artist
We should want the following things as we would’ve wanted it for him;
•Respect and Full Acceptance of Schizophrenic Folks
• Challenging the narrative that certain Nuerodivergences or Mental Illnesses “Make.” People violent. This is Beyond false.
•Only 10% of Murders are committed by Mentally ill people the other 90% well …. (Nuerotypical.)
^ this matters false narratives on mental illness lead to social exclusion and High suicide rates in our communities.
•We should want whatever can help folks with Addictive tendencies survive and not be shamed for a literal medical condition.
•Full Respect for Developmentally,Physically,Invisibly and Intellectually disabled minds and bodies.
• Meaning we trust Disabled folks and treat them like adults trusting their lived experiences
Etc.
So how can we benefit from the work of Nuerodivergent Individuals (Including Disabled BIPOC who make up 50% of all police killings?)And yet allow for the mistreatment of those in society in the same position as the people we consider “Beloved.” Or “Iconic.”
We disrespect Autistic/Disabled Individuals in three ways
•We assume that they are not equally as intelligent and undervalue their ideas, thoughts, feelings and existence.
•NT society assumes only The only way a person with a Disabillity, Nuerodivergence ,Mental illness is important is; if they contribute to Consumerism/mass Production, they can be used as an inspirational object or an object of Pity or we only value them if we can compare them to savants and geniuses
Folks who are just existing are valid no person needs to meet conform or colonize into Eurocentric social skills in order to meet your criteria for societal acceptance and the expectation that you need to “Understand.”/ “Make sense of” People is putting undo stress on folks.
Example
Look up life expectancy of folks with different Nuerodiversitys
It’s all too young to sentence a community to death by forcing them to meet unnecessary standards,
Lastly
you fetishize Disabled And Autisric Geniuses but over demand our productivity exhaust us.
Then you disrespect our requests regarding work we do
Example of this disrespect
Einstein told you NOT to use the atom bomb
Yet America used it anyway
Too many people died from work that wasn’t intended to be used and was specifically requested not to be used
If you want to fetishized disabled and autistic geniuses do not weaponize us for you’re eugenics based narrative.
All our disabled peers are equally as valuable as us and you disrespect All of us when you disrespect them you cannot pick and choose which members of our communities you deem of value
We are all Valuable.
If you treat our work as valuable then you must treat us and our communities/cultures that way as well

Total Dangan Island
Contestant No. 1.5: Izuru Kamukura
History: He came from an unremarkable home with unremarkable parents with a lifestyle that wasn’t either tragic or rewarding, therefore of course a child of this background would be nothing special. Early in his childhood the boy knew this, he knew what he could do and what other people saw him as, so he felt why bother striving for things higher if he was already expected to be average. Despite the boy's content with his life, his parents were quite the opposite, they wanted more from him. This goes beyond just parents wanting their child to have a better future out of love, rather there was more of an underlying sense of greed and envy behind their motive.
Just like their son, they were unremarkable people that came from an ordinary background, but rather accepting who they were, they wanted more. Both of them despised losing, and others even more that were gifted that could achieve things that they couldn’t. They craved acknowledgement and valor more than anything that would make them stand out and could be used to exploit their superiority onto others. But they were not deluded from reality, they knew that they didn't have the capabilities to be rewarded anything. So their next big plan was to have a child, by raising a special child that could accomplish their dreams and more, that would ultimately lead them achieving the biggest reward that any parent would want. In their minds, every parent wanted to have a child that was special or had a unique talent to them that could be used for their own benefits and almost as a desired object that most others could only ever dream of having. But their grand scheme was demolished as soon as their son was born which was just like them, unremarkable.
Years later, both parents refused to accept the truth and persistently forced the boy to practice, study, and train until they discovered what he was talented at. This was all the boy knew in his home; his face in books, exercising with various weights, and most noticeable of all was the disappointed faces of his parents who consistently berated him with lectures and complaints about him and all his flaws. This routine became so consistent that the boy became numb to it all and just saw it as part of his everyday life.
The boy always questioned why his parents were so desperate and acted the way they did, but he held no resentment towards them or anyone else. Though that didn’t mean that he wanted to uphold what they wanted or held himself in higher regards either. However, that was until he discovered this autobiography by an author that soon became this boy’s idol.
In the book it talks about how the author came from an ordinary and mundane household who was consistently underestimated and belittled by others due to his status and upbringings, but later became someone that could accomplish so much that most men could only dream of. It went onto further details that through his determination, hard work, and wit he was able to pass and overcome all challenges and diversities that came his way, thus discovering that he had innate talents that excelled in many categories. Then finally, it states that in his final moments he wanted to build an institution for young talents and give them opportunities that he was never given when he was younger. After finishing the book, the boy became infatuated with the author and adopted principles that reflected the author’s values. He soon treated the autobiography as his bible and uses it at times to help remind him of the tales of his hero that he wishes to be…”Izuru Kamukaura”.
With a fire lit in him and motivation driven to be like his idol, the boy sat down and seriously studied and trained in order to be the best. With days, weeks, and months pass by, the boy’s effort was unwavering and continued onward without stopping. His parents took notice of his change and their demeanor lightened after taking credit for their son’s sudden growth and change in attitude.
After his nonstop assault with his hard work, he finally saw results and was placed first in every academic category in his grade. Once he saw that, he felt completely different and was overwhelmed with joy after all his hard work paid off, but those feelings were nothing compared to the ones he felt once his parents found out about his results.
Despite knowing them his entire life and seeing them everyday, on that day the boy saw his parents as complete strangers to him once they knew of his achievements. Their mannerism and demeanor changed, and they showered him with praise and love for the first time in that boy’s life. The feeling was unreal to him, it was a warmth inside the boy’s chest that he never felt before in his whole life. As he continued watching his parents continue to embrace him with big bright smiles on their faces, the boy cried tears of joy and let it run down his face like a waterfall. That marked the moment when the boy knew that he wanted to preserve this feeling and maintain his parent’s affections.
As time moved forward and the boy continued his pace, his results remained in the top with no change in its order. Soon not only his parents, but teachers, relatives, and even other parents started showering the boy with praise like, “You’re amazing”, “Other kids should be like you”, “I wish my kid was like you”, and “You’re a role model”. But the praises that the boy would hear often and would stick by him the longest were “You’re so talented” and “You’re such a genius”. Those words struck the boy’s mind and filled him with such pride and confidence since those were the exact same lines used by others to describe his hero. Also the boy’s parents would often brag about their child towards everyone and explained that the boy’s exploits were only possible due to their superior parenting methods. Obviously, arrogant bragging like this would cause strain with other parents and relatives, but they had no room to interject since what they said wasn't entirely wrong. The boy had mixed feelings about what his parents were doing, but in the end he was still happy to see them so energetic and loving towards him.
Though his effort won him the affection of the adults, most of his young peers felt differently. It is because he tries so hard for results and the adults would often compare him to them, other children would feel irritated by his presence alone and start alienating him, even small acts of bullying would occur. But despite all that it didn’t affect the boy that much because he still had some friends left to play with, and his parents explained that those children were acting out due to how jealous they were since they weren’t “talented” or “special” like he was. The boy took all those words he received to heart and used them to help elevate his efforts in achieving his goal of becoming the next “Izuru Kamukura”.
But that wasn't meant to be as the phrase “all good things must come to an end”, rang in the boy’s head once he entered middle school. As soon as the boy set foot in that new school, all his previous achievements and efforts were meaningless once the boy met with real “geniuses” and “talent”, the true elites. His grades and performance kept on falling and falling until he was placed in remedial classes to help him from flunking all his subjects. Just as the boy’s performance dropped, so did everyone’s expectations of him as well. From stares of admiration to glares of disappointment, more and more people started mocking the boy for his wasted effort and even more so towards the parents after years of them bragging of how superior they were for raising such a “talented” son. Once the mockery occurred, the boy’s parents reverted immediately back to the state when the boy was small and younger; cold, disappointed, and full of dismissive complaints. Shocked by the setback, the boy refused to give up and sacrificed any means to get back what he lost. The boy discarded his remaining friends, destroyed his social life, and got rid of any meaningless free-time, all in order to use those remaining times to better himself. Alas nothing changed, the boy’s effort was wasted and not a thing has improved.
Now the boy is back where he started...no, he was in a much worse state than he was before. It’s true that his parents and everyone else around are back to thinking very little of him, but now he was completely alone and he even thinks very little of himself now. After experiencing that warmth from his parents and others, and following the footsteps of someone he admired, the boy can’t help but to feel empty and hatred for himself for not being special or talented. He would start questioning his own worth and see very little value in his own existence. There were times when the boy even thought of ending it all, but he would stop every time when he got these sudden flashes of “Izuru Kamukura” and thought about all the hardships he went through before he could achieve anything. He thanked “Izuru” every time for saving him from himself and giving him the strength to keep it together, but there was this other thought in the back of his mind if it was really right to compare himself to someone like “Izuru Kamukura”. Though he did have to overcome many difficulties, in the end he was actually talented, whereas the boy was not and was just ordinary.
A few years have passed and the boy is now of high school age, he was just another face in the background that had no one by his side. Though the boy didn’t stand out or got in anyone’s way, disdain and mockery still lingered towards him as his old peers still retells the stories about him and his past. With not much to do, all the boy did was get through it all and head straight home. At the end of the day, to no surprise there was no one there, the boy just bolted to his room and got started with his homework. His mind constantly wandered off and dreaded memories of his past, thinking up scenarios of his life where he stood out as “talented” and how content he would be with his life.
One day when the boy was reliving his past, he stumbled upon an online ad that advertised recruitment tryouts for a spinoff show of the infamous series “Total Drama” called “Total Dangan Island”. At first the boy wasn’t interested in the show or the prize since he knew of the show’s predecessor and its dangerous reputation, but there was something that caught the boy’s interest. In the ad it stated that only the top 16 most talented and capable youths of the World would be selected to participate in the contest. At that moment the boy had a sudden flash of realization, if he were to enter and win then everyone in the World, and especially to himself, would have to acknowledge that he truly is talented and special enough in order to beat the best of the best.
Once he finished recording and sending his tape audition, he went on and explained his plan to his parents. Despite the resolve he had for entering the show before, in his mind he was still scared since this show’s predecessor is known to be life threatening and is willing to endanger its participants for ratings by any means. So a part of him was hoping his parents would stop him or warn him that it was too dangerous to go out of concern for him. However they were ecstatic and were ready to pack all his things up, even though he was yet to be even nominated. The chances of him being accepted was between nonexistent to miniscule, the boy begged all his might to be let in.
After months passed by, the boy noticed a strange black and white envelope in his mailbox and tore it open. Upon reading the letter, the boy jumped in celebration as it was a congratulation letter from the show for being a following contestant. After telling the news, the boy’s parents quickly got his things together and was at the door ready to send him off. The boy was overwhelmed with various emotions clashing with one another; from joy, excitement, nervousness, terror, etc., and right before he took another step forward out the door his parents stopped him to say some final words. In the boy’s mind he was hoping to hear the words “We’re so proud of you”, “We love you so much”, or even a “Stay safe”, but all he got was “Make sure you win and get the prize.” After hearing those words, the boy’s emotions calmed down and silently nodded back at his parents in response. The boy then turned forward and walked away, at that point the boy was determined to win at any cost so he could finally put to rest all his fears and doubts and prove to everyone, especially himself, that he is worth at least something.

Bio/Extra Info: (Read Previous Bio) Early on in the competition during one of the first Challenges, Hajime and the rest of his team lost one of its members. They all agreed to scatter to go look for her, but there was no luck. It became hopeless until Hajime finally spotted her in the deepest parts of the island. As he went after and finally caught up to her, he noticed that they were at a strange location that was like a gravesite for dangerous and decaying machinery.
It was the Dump Pit, a junkyard area where all Monokuma's prototypes and rejected ideas were all discarded to rot away (obviously this was all done without Monomi's knowing). As he was about to reach out to her, the ledge that they both stood on crumbled. Once they fell and got closer to the site, they landed on this strangely-colored puddle that was leaking from something that looked like a large battery, some in particular landed on Hajime’s eye, and they were covered by this terrible chemical smell that almost seemed like it devoured any clean air surrounding the area. In a panic, both team members quickly got out of the site and escaped from the forest together without any visible harm done to them. After thoroughly inspecting themselves they found nothing that was wrong, at first.
After a course of a few weeks, Hajime’s eye continuously got worse as it became more bloodshot red and throbbing profusely, in which he could receive massive headaches that would cause him to collapse onto the ground. In that state, all his fears and doubts would loop in his head constantly, then during that he would hear a faint voice telling him something. He could never make out what the voice said and at times when he was about to decipher it, the headaches would stop and so would the voice alongside it.
Then one morning when he woke up, he noticed that all the pain was gone though was surprised when he got to a mirror to check his eye. He saw that the pupil of his left eye had completely turned red, upon the mirror he saw a figure standing behind him in the mirror. In a scared panic, he quickly turned around and asked who the stranger was, but as the stranger answered Hajime instantly recognized the voice as the same one in his head from his headaches. The stranger answered that he was Izuru Kamukura, but Hajime had a hard time believing that since Izuru was long dead and that he looked nothing like him. In fact the stranger actually resembled Hajime who dressed up ruggedly as Izuru Kamukura.
Hajime cautiously reached out to this Izuru, but he phased through him and immediately jumped back away from him. When Hajime asked what he was, Izuru took a pause and thought deeply about that question. After a couple seconds, after analyzing all the clues and data from Hajime’s memories, he concluded that he was a separate persona that was conjured by his psyche. As Hajime was dumbstruck to the possibility, Izuru continued theorizing that after being exposed to all that chemical waste has created this strainful chemical imbalance in his brain. The area that was mostly affected was amygdala, which controls fear and anxieties, thus causing all those serious headaches he had up until now.
In order to answer and compensate for all his doubts and anxiety, his psyche has created a whole new personality that embodied all his desires and wishes, thus creating this Izuru Kamukura that stood in front of him. After the explanation, Hajime was taken aback and shocked by what he heard. After that’s been done and over, now all that’s left is for Hajime to decide what he’s going to do with his whole new roommate in his head.
(Hajime’s) Goal: (Read Previous Goal) Same as before.
(Izuru’s) Goal: He is indifferent, he doesn’t care about the game, prize, or anything of that matter. He only acts or takes control over the body only when Hajime requests his help or allows it. Izuru could process images in an instant, has access to 100 percent of his brain, and was in complete control of every single strand of tissue that composed his body. Until Hajime calls for him, he’ll just stand on the side and watch him go through huddles and other challenges. Since Izuru views himself as a perfect being that could do no wrong, which makes his existence boring and meaningless, he finds watching others struggle to achieve their goals, despite their flaws and imperfections, a bit intriguing and entertaining.

At Home with You

Ino
“There you are!” Curious brown eyes looked up hearing a familiar voice. Inojin grinned watching the deer trot over towards him excitedly.
Inojin pet the deer’s fur affectionately, thankful that he seemed to still remember him. “I’m sorry I haven’t been around a lot lately.” The animal didn’t seem to mind and welcomed the loving touches.
“Come on buddy, let’s take a walk. I’ve got some time before I have to go home.” Inojin could have sworn there was some understanding in those soft eyes as the animal fell into step with him.
The peace and solitude the dense forest provided was much needed after so many difficult and grueling missions. He found solace in the twilight with his faithful companion by his side.
The pair took breaks along their walk to eat and drink. Their gait relaxed and steady with no goal or end in sight. Inojin would feed the animal treats and pet his soft fur. All the while the deer nuzzled in familiarity into his gentle hands.
Coming to a stop they relaxed by the water. Inojin reclined into the deers side to sketch the landscape. Nestling into the deer’s soft fur and comforting warmth. It was this quiet slice of heaven away safe from the noise.
“So this is where you’ve been running off to?”
Inojin looked startled, surprised by the amused looks on his Uncle and Aunt’s face.
Subconsciously Inojin stepped forward placing himself between the deer and them.
“We don’t mind you coming here but you need to let your parents know where you are.” Temari gently scolded him.
Shikamaru looked curiously behind Inojin. A familiar deer posed as though it was ready to defend its friend if necessary.
“I assume your visits have to do with the deer behind you?”
“I come by when I dont have missions to see him.” Inojin admitted with a sigh. There was no way to lie his way out of this.
Temari and Shikamaru were surprised by the revelation. Shikamaru recognized the deer as the injured one that Inojin had found and he had treated. He remembered Inojin being terrified and distraught, hoping the deer might make it through. They didn’t quite realize how much of an impression the experience had made.
Temari had seen him earlier heading towards the forest where he was able to walk about freely. It seemed odd though that he was going there alone.
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
Inojin shrugged, not really having a response. He thought it might be embarrassing to admit having grown attached to the deer.
“I couldn’t…I couldn’t save Akkun. So when I was able to save this one I felt connected to him I guess.”
They knew all about that little creature that he’d bonded with during the mission in Iwagakure. Ino and Sai had considered getting him a pet to help with his grief but worried it might be too soon.
Shikamaru moved forward towards them, kneeling in front of him. “Your grandfather used to love walking through here too.”
“Really?” Inojin asked surprised but always happy to learn anything he could about his grandfather.
“The Yamanaka jutsu can be very difficult mentally and spiritually. He always found reconnecting with nature as a way to reset. He even had his own favorite deer. Shikadai’s grandfather would complain that he was out here more than him.” Shikamaru remembered when his father would go out into the dense forest to check on his friend.
“Inojin attachments and bonds are a wonderful thing. Companionship and friendship make life meaningful. They aren’t something you ever have to hide.” Inojin smiled up at Temari, her words having a lifetime of experience behind them.
“Did you give him a name?”
“Aki, I found him on the first day of Fall.”
“Well thank you Aki for taking care of Inojin here.”
Shikamaru kindly rubbed the deer’s head. Sure the Naras were known for their connection with these animals but he was thankful that Inojin saw their value as well.
“Let your mom and dad know, okay kid. That way they won’t worry.” Temari guided him gently. She could understand his draw towards the Nara forest. She would often escape there just to have some quiet.
Inojin nodded, grateful that he didn’t have to keep his trips a secret. That he could tell his parents and his teammates about his friend. He’d been wanting his parents to come join him for a while now.
“Let Shikadai know you’re coming out here. He’s supposed to be guarding and keeping this place secure. Seeing as you’ve been able to come in and out undetected means he’s not doing his job.” He laughed but hoped his friend wouldn’t be too upset.
The trio remained out there in the fading sunlight as more deer came forward recognizing the clan heads. Enjoying the mystery and wonder of it all.
Inojin at times was just like his father. He struggled with certain social cues and norms. Often finding himself confused by some customs. But he found there in the quiet of the forest, with his faithful friend, and family a feeling of home.
Shika
Shikadai took a tentative taste before a thoughtful look crossed his face.
“It needs something.”
Karui took a spoonful of the broth before nodding. “You’re right. Go ask your Uncle Chouji for more tomatoes.”
Shikadai went into motion and made his way over to where the Akimichi was prepping the ingredients. ChoCho would often complain about her parents but Shikadai found them to be warm and welcoming. Always genuinely happy to see him.
“We’re gonna need more diced tomatoes.”
“You got it, kid.”
Shikadai wasn’t sure when it happened exactly. He’d been over at the Akimichi’s one night for dinner and had been roped into helping. Despite his silent complaints, he’d actually enjoyed the cooking process. It was almost like a science experiment. Mixing the ingredients to get the perfect reaction. After that day he’d come by ever so often to learn more techniques and to try out various recipes. Who better than an Akimichi to teach him to cook? ChoCho loved it when he came over, as he often made enough for her to try a new dish.
Today he had something special planned. His uncles had sent him a recipe for his mom's favorite dish from Suna. He wanted it to be a surprise so he’d made his way to the Akimichi kitchen.
“My dad taught your grandfather how to cook,” Chouji told him with a grin. Shikadai looked up, never having heard this story.
“When they were younger your grandmother was just as good of a cook as she is now. Uncle Shikaku wanted to impress her. It was a complete failure. Apparently, he managed to burn through not only the food but multiple pots and pans. He was banned from cooking on Akimichi lands for a while. After my dad forgave him he gave him a few less-flammable lessons. It wasn’t too helpful but there was some improvement. Your father is no better. For being geniuses they sure are useless in the kitchen. You might be the only hope for the Nara line.”
Shikadai smiled at the thought. His mother had mentioned something similar to him when he’d helped her a few times. It wasn’t a skill that Naras were known for nor would it be one that he advertised. Still, it was a useful ability and oftentimes a needed distraction.
Karui yelled a few additional items they needed and he stood next to Chouji prepping the additional items.
They added the required ingredients, checking the flavor as he went along. The two Akimichis watched him with a smile at his attention and precision. Temari’s look of pure determination on his face and his movements were all Shikamaru. Like the dish he made, he was a perfect mix.
“I’ve got to hand it to you kid. You’re a natural. You’re always welcomed in my kitchen.” Karui praised him after tasting the completed recipe.
She affectionately ruffled his hair. “Your mom is going to love it.”
Shikadai recalled those precious times together around a table with warm food between them.
A home-cooked meal was the perfect reminder of home.
Cho
“Thanks again for coming by! Your wife is going to love the flowers.” ChoCho yelled out to the customer.
She then worked to spray down the counter then watered a few of the plants. It was a quiet day at the store but she loved it nonetheless. The Yamanaka flower shop was one of her favorite places in the village. She was getting older. Their team missions were more complicated and layered. For her. working at a place that was so normal was a needed reprieve.
It started a few weeks ago. Inojin had begged her to cover his shift while his parents were off on a mission. She agreed only after he offered her a king’s ransom in snacks and a no-questions-asked favor to be cashed in the future. After getting a quick training session and learning the ropes she thoroughly enjoyed her time there. She was in the company of flowers and got to meet and interact with people all over the village. It was a natural fit. From then on ever so often Inojin would ask her to fill in. She’d whine and complain which increased Inojin’s offerings but she’d ultimately agree.
“ChoCho!” She smiled brightly seeing the Yamanakas walk in. They knew that she was there for the afternoon but assured her they’d be back as early as possible.
ChoCho idolized Ino. The Yamanaka Clan head was strong, wise, and beautiful. ChoCho loved her mom but she was still an authority figure. Ino was her cool Aunt. Since she could remember the blonde had assured her that she’d be a willing confidant and support. There were a few times that she elicited her help and advice.
“We appreciate you coming by to help us,” Sai thanked her with a soft smile. He wasn’t a man of many words but he was always kind and welcoming towards her. His smile reminded her very much of her teammate.
“I love it here. I get to see so many people and hear a lot of different stories.” Her favorites were always of nervous individuals hoping to find that perfect bouquet to impress a special someone.
“It’s a pretty special place. Your grandfather still buys your grandmother flowers every month on the 7th. When I'd come here to help my dad I always loved seeing him come in. I'd help him pick out the flowers to give her.” ChoCho fondly thought about the blossoms that would consistently fill their home. She couldn’t help but love how connected their families were.
Sai helped her move a few buckets of flowers to refill the shelves. “When your father started dating your mom he didn’t know what her favorite flower was so he ended up just buying all of them,” Sai recalled that day.
He’d come to spend time with Ino when the Akimichi had come in a panicked state. Their team had argued back and forth about the best arrangement of flowers until Shikamaru convinced Chouji to just buy them all and figure out Karui’s favorite later.
ChoCho grinned surprised by the sweet story. Surprised that the old man had some moves back in the day.
Her father had come by earlier to her embarrassment but they had worked together to arrange a beautiful bouquet for her mother. She often wondered at their relationship but their love was something undeniable. ChoChohoped that her teammates took notes about how to treat those they loved.
ChoCho fell into step with the Yamanakas helping to clean up before she was set to leave. And of course, she was on her way to see her team.
“You’re always welcome here, you know that right?” Ino assured her. She had a special bond with the Akimichi. It wasn’t always easy being the female in their trio.
Surrounded by a melody of flowers and the warmth of family, this was just like a second home.
“I know.”
* **
The 17th generation of InoShikaCho sat together in the cramped booth talking about everything and nothing all at once. A similar scene of love and familiarity having occurred many times in the past.
At times the pressure to uphold their family’s legacy could be suffocating. Certain heavy expectations and hopes were placed on their shoulders. But they knew at the end of the day they were luckier than most. They were teammates and best friends. Not just by circumstances but by choice. No matter what happened in this life, because of that bond they’d always have a home.

Did you see what I was trying to do here? I love the customs that each family has but I like to see them interacting with each other.
Life got pretty hectic so writing needed to take a back seat. I’m thankful that I was able to write what little I could. I hope to be posting more regularly soon. Thanks for your support and good vibes.
My sincere love, thanks and admiration for everyone who supported this week! You are all amazing! Love, love to you all!
