Today's show was so overhwelmingly chaotic that I had to use my inhaler TWICE (I've been trying to only use it once a day to see how my lungs are doing). But as chaotic and exhausting as it was... Goddamn I'm good at what I do.
While they were diagnosing a problem and working through Plan A, I set up Plan F by myself while 6 people stood around watching Plan A-C fail.
And when they yelled that the show would have to be canceled this week, I had Plan F up, set, running, and it was what I told them to do from the start.
Why is there only Plan A-C, then suddenly Plan F?
My Plan was always Plan F, for "Fuck it, we bail".

I claim that any software developer using Windows is not a good developer, but I see a lot of developers nowadays use Windows so is Windows a good option for developers now as I've not been using it for years??
Whatever the answer is, I'll be using Linux till the day I die, but if Windows is really a good option now I need to change how I interact with developers using Windows..

A weird build issue
Today I released version 0.3.1 of the software library I'm working intensely on. At this point in the project, I expect releases to go smoothly, but this one didn't.
For this project, a release consists of 4 different software artifacts, each one built by a different job, running on a different build host: one on Windows, one on Linux, and so on. First I build normally, to ensure the project is in a working state. Then I "push a Git tag" that causes the build hosts to upload their artifacts to a staging repository. Since the build hosts and the staging repo are owned by different vendors, I generate a security token at the staging repo and feed that token to the build hosts, to assure the repo that I authorized all 4 uploads. Then I log into the staging repo and publish the uploaded artifacts.
It's a complex process, which took many tries to get right. However, it worked for 0.3.0 release, just 4 days ago.
Today, the normal build worked perfectly, but when I pushed the tag, all four uploads failed with permission errors. Logging into the staging repo, I discovered that the security token had a different value than I expected. Apparently it changed sometime in the past 4 days.
At this point, I got a little nervous, since *I* hadn't changed the token. But perhaps someone changed it for a good reason, such as in response to a security breach. It wasn't difficult to update the build hosts with the new token and restart the failed jobs.
The 2nd time around, one of the 4 jobs failed with a permission error. The other 3 were fine. I was puzzled. All 4 jobs were using the same token, stored in the same place. As far as permissions were concerned, either they should all succeed, or they should all fail. I double-checked the token and re-ran that job. It failed again.
The failing job was the one running on Windows. And I noticed that the first character in the token was a slash (/). And on Windows a slash is used to indicate a command-line option.
Perhaps the token didn't work on Windows because at some point it got passed in a command line, where the slash was mistaken for a command-line option and skipped, or erroneously escaped.
I generated a new token with no slash, re-ran the failing job, and it succeeded. So probably that slash was the issue.
Chalk up another weird build issue! I should gain some XP for this one...

Use this trick to Save time : HDL Simulation through defining clock
Why is this trick useful? Defining a clock in your simulation can save you time during simulation because you don't have to manually generate the clock signal in your simulation environment. Wanted to know how to define and force clock to simulate your digital system. Normally define clock used to simulate system with clock input. But I am telling you this trick for giving values to input ports other than clock. It will help you to save time in simulation because you do not need to force values to input ports every time. Lets brief What we did - gave some clock frequency to input A, like we gave 100. Than we made Half the frequency of clock to 50 and gave it to Input B. In similar way if we have 3rd input too we goanna half the frequency again to 25 and would give to next input.

Ku2 – walking around ventilator
Tumblr media
So, with more slow speed, I still play in Quake 2. And I walk a little forward. I try to get into the zone of dig. In the mines. Enter is closed. Level, again, is multi floor and, even more - it is multi map. At one map – press a switch.
Tumblr media
At another map - press some bottom near a green thing. There is a computer table there. And all the time connecting element  - is another map. From one map you can go to a new location. And later, go back to the map with lift. It has built as a platform. And it is rising above the lava. I raise to the next floor. And again, it has enter to a new map. I, of course, I am lost here, already.
Tumblr media
I have, already, cleaned the maps from enemies. And I am walking here in search of undone things. And, at first, it is fun to play when it is something new. New map. New portion of enemies. And it goes forward, something goes forward. And when you are walking the same corridors again and again. Yes, it has also some point of interesting. But, you know, I am very surprised.
Tumblr media
So, here we have labyrinth, it is not like in first Doom, when you can walk by hours on a big maps. Or in Heretic, with hard labyrinths, that goes from first level. So, it looks, it is more simple here. Architecture is not with lots of entrance. But. Levels has several floors. So, you can go here with higher or lower floor. Tricky passages. And, some connections with nearest maps, also exists here. And in result, I am walking these maps again and again.
Tumblr media
So, in short, here we have in lower floor some big ventilators. Enter to a mine, I think, I have found, but computer writes to me, that it is closed. And it has a grid below. And symbol like eagle at the top. So, I cannot go next. I not complete all the things here.
Tumblr media
Ventilators – big beautiful. You can go below to them. They are rotating. Everything is beautiful. But, they can hurt you. It is so beautiful as your submachine gun is shining with a little red. So, it is little light red glowing here.
Tumblr media
Wow, but I’d like, that Quake to be more stupid action shooter game. Well, like maps, you complete them and fast go forward. Well, at maximum, a little walking the corridors again. To remember labyrinth. And, here, I am as a rule, sometimes, again and again, do not know - what to do.
Tumblr media
From enemies, id like to tell about dangerous flying things. With two circles at the sides. It is like man-bird. Instead of wings it has two circles. It shoots you from a distance. And also, it is rotating. So, it is very hard-evil enemy, in terms of it can do maneuvers. And it can find you not ready. It goes high in the sky and shoot at you. Later, it goes closer. And only now, you can see him. Very cool behavior. And, also, a design – yes, so industrial. Some kind of metal and iron with forms of humanoid. So, it has a certain little terrible look.
Tumblr media
Landscapes, saying better, building here are monumental. Of course. And this symbol like eagle. I notice it on the walls. It is not eagle, just looks similar. With borg design. And such high buildings, going into red skies. Beautiful. At the lower, there are ventilators, they are rotating. It is a standalone point of beautiful view.
Tumblr media
I forget new screenshots at the country house. I left my old computer there, and I play on it. So, screenshots here are from other days.

Operation Leadstorm Brings Chaos to Enlisted Game
Tumblr media
Operation Leadstorm is the latest event update for the online shooter game Enlisted on Linux, Steam Deck, and Windows PC. Thanks to the team at Darkflow Software for keeping the action alive and kicking. Which you can dive into now on Steam. Operation Leadstorm is here, and it’s bringing chaos, glory, and a whole new way to battle in Enlisted. From April 1st to April 15th, it’s every fighter for themselves in the brand-new Hero Deathmatch mode. And yes, this one’s a game-changer. By completing tasks in the special Battle Pass, you will receive rewards that you can use in the main title. Such as Silver, orders, character portraits, and unique weapons. This isn’t your usual World War II shootout. In Operation Leadstorm, you’ll drop into fast-paced free for all action via Linux and Steam Deck. Due to play as one of the game’s Unique Heroes — legendary warriors based on real historical icons and battlefield myths. Each one looks epic, comes with their own custom weapon, and packs a serious punch. These are the larger than life fighters that shaped the war, now brought back to life with style. The way it works is simple: every time you score a kill, you level up into a new hero. The more takedowns you rack up, the closer you get to becoming the final hero in the chain — and yes, that final form also hits hard. Since it’s a race to the top, and only the deadliest will survive long enough to claim the crown.
Operation Leadstorm / Enlisted
youtube
Win matches in Operation Leadstorm and you’ll also unlock some sweet rewards: rare hero portraits, exclusive weapons with slick custom finishes, and bragging rights as one of the top dogs in the event. This isn’t just a battle — it’s a test of skill, reflexes, and sheer guts. Alongside the event, new premium weapon packs have also landed in the store. These aren’t just powerful — they look awesome, with unique skins and historical flair. So you can be tearing through enemies and looking good doing it. Enlisted is all about releasing into intense, squad-based World War II combat, and this update turns things up to eleven. If you haven’t jumped in yet, now’s the time. With tanks, planes, artillery, and now the hero-fueled madness of Operation Leadstorm, this is the most explosive version of the title yet. Grab your gear, pick your hero, and get ready to fight like a legend via Steam. Which you can play now on Linux, Steam Deck (playable), and Windows PC.

Lessons Learned: Reflections from a Google Software Engineer on the Steps of Software Development
Tumblr media
As who works as a software engineer at Google, I’ve been fortunate to go through the complex process of software development, picking up valuable insights along the way. We, at Blockverse Infotech Solutions, recognize the significance of looking back on these experiences to enhance our procedures and provide outstanding solutions. Follow along as I discuss the perspectives gained from the software development steps and how they influence our strategy in creating innovative software solutions.
Software development is a challenging journey with lessons to learn, victories to celebrate, and wisdom to gain. I’ve been privileged to witness firsthand the complexities of software development and the knowledge acquired at each phase of the process as a Google software engineer.
The initial lesson acquired in software development is the significance of detailed planning and requirements assessment. Before delving into coding, a thorough grasp of the project objectives, user requirements, and technical specifications is crucial. This sets the groundwork for a successful development process, reducing the possibility of scope expansion or misinterpretations later on.
Following the definition of requirements, the subsequent stage involves design and architecture. This includes crafting a plan for the software solution, delineating the framework, elements, and interactions. Sticking to established design principles and models guarantees the scalability, manageability, and extensibility of the software system.
Coding is where the enchantment appears, as lines of code are converted into operational software solutions. This phase necessitates attention to detail, adherence to coding guidelines, and collaboration with colleagues to ensure code quality and uniformity. Writing clear, effective code not only boosts readability but also eases debugging and upkeep in the long haul.
Testing and quality assurance are integral components of software development, guaranteeing that the software satisfies the specified requirements and functions as anticipated. This entails a mix of manual and automated testing methods, incorporating unit tests, integration tests, and user approval testing. By recognizing and correcting bugs early in the development cycle, developers can deliver top-notch software solutions that satisfy user expectations.
Deployment signifies the conclusion of the software development voyage, as the solution is launched into production. This requires detailed planning, coordination, and communication to guarantee a smooth transition from development to operation. Continuous monitoring and feedback aid in pinpointing areas for enhancement and shaping future versions of the software.
At Blockverse Infotech Solutions, we embody the lessons assimilated from the software development steps to provide exceptional solutions for our clients. Our group of skilled developers, engineers, and project managers is devoted to adopting best practices and inventive strategies for every project, guaranteeing success and contentment for our clients.
In closure, the expedition of software development is enriched with invaluable insights that mold our strategy in producing innovative solutions. Through pondering on these insights and continually refining our procedures, we can surmount challenges, embrace opportunities, and deliver software solutions that surpass expectations.
