I adore how people think Hera is a poor, pitiful, victim of Zeus, but when it comes to actual interactions and worship, she will not demand honor for only herself, but also for her husband as well. Zeus and Hera are a package deal!

Zeus and Hera
I’ve seen several posts defending Zeus lately and honestly I love it. Entire cultures called Zeus father; he’s a protector of the home, foreigners, and sacred hospitality, among many other things.
For me, at first he felt scary and unapproachable even as the good king of the gods. I eventually incorporated Zeus Erkeios and Ktesios into my household prayers, but not much else.
Little by little, our kharis has grown, and Hera, patient mother that she is, has guided her daughter on the path of devotion to her husband. I am still learning, but now, Zeus feels fatherly and kind.
It’s difficult to explain, but I surprised myself today by praying to “Father Zeus” extemporaneously and just sharing my feelings with him. I’m not close with my own dad, so to be able to do that means a lot.
I guess what I’m saying is that I don’t understand the negative perception of either Hera or Zeus, because in worshipping them, I feel as though I’ve found a family. I love my gods, but I’m always overwhelmed and blown away by how much they love me in return.

Trying to Explain How the Gods Feel to Me
Inspired by @khthonioi and their post. They’re really sweet so check them out!
Hermes: The excitement of getting a letter from a real person, winning a coin toss, suddenly breaking into a sprint, helping a friend up after they’ve fallen, getting on a train and not knowing where you’ll get off, speaking in a foreign language for the first time, having someone you love stay over at your house, cool evening air after a hot day, jumping a fence, winning a game of go fish as a child, visiting a bustling market, getting doubles with dice, successfully passing a soccer ball
Ares: Doing what needs to be done, finding old scars, persevering no matter what, the feeling that comes after a workout, overcoming a fear, bandaging up a wound, the buzz of a protest, feeling the blood of all that have come before you running through your veins, holding an old pocket knife, wearing a leather jacket, the smell of dragons blood, lighting a match only to blow it out, the satisfaction of cracking ice, pressing on a bruise and finding it no longer hurts
Artemis: Slipping into worn boots, balancing on a log with no fear of falling, dancing alone in your room, late night walks, running your hands through a dogs fur, severing the stem of a flower with a knife, the lightness after cutting off a lot of hair, twirling in a flowy skirt or dress, being able to see at night thanks to the moon, the drive to keep going, the gurgling of a stream, making eye contact with a wild animal and feeling a connection, cooking on a campfire
Zeus: The rumble of thunder in your chest, seeing justice be carried out, knowing this is where you’re meant to be, watching lightning hit the earth, realizing you can change the outcome, entering a dark oak forest, watching a bird soar against the wind, doing what other deemed impossible, a warm hand on your shoulder, smelling petrichor in the air, finding proof of something you knew to be true, seeing the trees bend but not break to the wind, feeling all the hair on your body stand up, the heaviness in the air before a storm

Writing Prayers. What do you all feel about writing down prayers instead of saying them? I am a huge fan of actually voicing out my prayers while looking around at the sky, watching the wind, dancing with the swaying of a tree, or even just looking past as I drive.
Currently, I'm at college, and it's not the safest for me to pray out in the open. Firstly, my roommate is always around. Secondly I live near a forest, in a prison town. I value my safety, so I don't go out at night to pray. And during the day, there are already people roaming around.

— to you, o king of power & might, to you, o lord father zeus, do i sing. i give  worship to the strength of you, the power that rings and echoes within my very bones. o lord  of the heavens, lord of the earth, lord of all that dwells  within, to you i sing. illuminate the dark where my feet tread, your strike of lightning to chase away  the foes before me. out of chaos, o mighty king, lead  me forward. guide me in righteous ways, bring holiness to my words, & lend me your strength. o blessed king! ruler of all the gods!— king of glory & brightness! it is to you that i sing —

classics students who say they hate Zeus but read "dark romance" retellings of Hades and Persephone… i want to scream (i just smiled and said ‘really ? Zeus is one of my favorite gods !’ and then ‘Hades and Persephone are so interesting though, I love the Homeric Hymn to Demeter’)

Low-spoon offerings
I left Zeus, Apollo and Hermes each a gold dollar on my altar! Thinking about offering the Theoi whatever spare change I find on my daily journey into my iron offering dish, and maybe buy them something when the dish is totally full? I'm not sure.

As it rains here, I feel Father Zeus’ love washing over me. At first I felt a chill, so I changed into warmer clothes, but now sitting here and listening to the thunder, I feel so warm. Like every drop of rain is singing hymns to the King of the Gods. Praise you, kind-hearted one, protector of the home, the foreigner, stormy one!
