Headcanon Tag Game
Thank you for tagging me, @meluiloth! This was a fun one.
Use this headcanon generator to generate a few headcanons for your characters/ocs, and explain how accurate or inaccurate they are.
Tumblr media
Saephrond is a horrible liar.
Accurate. Although he's capable of telling white lies or concealing important/private information, he stumbles over his words when not being honest. He avoids eye contact, uses sarcasm, or will outright laugh.
Saephrond wakes up on November 1st and starts decorating for Christmas.
Absolutely not. He's a Scrooge McGrinch. No, he really is. Nevermind that he has a green & red outfit he likes to don during the Yule Festival, an Elk of Festive Spirit, a Yule hobby-horse, tons of Yule housing decorations...
"Don't forget to leave cookies and milk out for...me."
Saephrond instinctively cleans messes in their own house as well as other peoples.
Legit. He's pretty organised when it comes to living spaces and will get some sort of complex if things are out of place. Due to this, he'll clean up anywhere he's a guest, believing the owners to be as uncomfy in their own mess as he is. This especially goes for a few of his hoarding hobbit friends.
Lol. I think each was accurate enough. He both hates and loves the holiday season, so that's the only one that was a little interesting to answer. He generally isn't into it, but enjoyed celebrating it with someone in the past, which is why he has so many personal items themed around it.
Overall, I enjoyed this one. Admittedly, I skipped over one that said something to the extent of, "Saephrond knows every word to Let It Go." No.
Tagging: @rangers-arecool, @elgaladwen, @angbands-last-hero, @finchlette, @chaos-corvus and everyone else!

Beardo Philip made plushie versions of him and Camila for an anniversary gift.
Camila loves them, Luz finds it a little weird but endearing.
Ooo, yes!
I can see Beardo Philip going above and beyond and sewing clothes for the plushes, which enhances the fun for him and Camila.
The plushies have matching outfits that are veterinarian themed, Cosmic Frontier / space ranger themed, and wedding themed (Camila and Beardo Philip even give their plushies a pretend wedding and have them kiss at the end).
She'll let the lovebirds enjoy their play time without interfering.
You're right about Luz finding the whole thing strange, but sweet.

The Just Dancers at Disney World because I’m at Disney World
Wanderlust: He would LOVE Disney. Every time I go on a ride I think Wander would love it. He’s such a Disney adult, he’ll wear cheesy t-shirts and go all the time and he would just love it all. His favorite park would be Epcot and he would LOVE Soarin. That boy could go on Soarin 30 times in a row and still be just as amazed as he was the first time. Everyone loves going with him because he’s more excited than every little kid there. He also LOVES meeting the princesses, he insists he has to meet every single one. Does his little bow to them. They love him.
Sara: Also a Disney adult, but a slightly different breed. She disneybounds and collects ears and takes a billion pictures for her Instagram. Her and Wanderlust drop everything when they walk past a dance party. Also loves meeting the characters but she’s more a fan of the fur characters, she loves getting hugs from Mickey and Winnie the Pooh
Brezziana: she’s a thrill seeker, she prefers Universal but she can enjoy Disney. Has to hit all the coasters before they leave. Gets super competitive on Space Ranger Spin and Toy Story Mania and absolutely crushes everyone. Carries a ton of water bottles in her backpack because she knows the others will forget to drink water (looking at you, Wanderlust) and she needs to make sure everyone is hydrated. Is the last one to pass out at the end of the day.
Mihaly: Is perfectly content just walking around and looking at everything. They LOVE the theming and all the little details. They’re not enough of a fan to have all the fun facts memorized, but they love listening to Wanderlust ramble on and on about them. Genuinely thinks they’re so cool. Loves watching the fireworks, they’re all exhausted by the end of the day but Mihaly perks up just in time to fully appreciate them. They might shed a tear.
Jack Rose: Has a lovely time but doesn’t show it. He also loves meeting the princesses, he won’t admit it though. Mostly it’s the childlike joy but also he likes watching Wander interact with them. He also gets crushes on like half the princes (Wander says he has a type). He’s a big fan of the parades and the shows, but really he just likes everything. Night Swan would never let him go to Disney when he was little so he’s just so happy to be there. But of course if anyone asks him he’s just like “yeah it’s cool”, he doesn’t know how else to express himself

A friend had me marathoning the full Yuusha/ Brave anime series, so here's my opinion as a Transformers Fan.
Brave Exkaiser: Most like Transformers. There are space pirates, and the Space Police come to Earth to stop them. Lots of Robot in Disguise stuff. And trains that are twins very cute.
The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird: Is this a pigeon? Similar theme to Exkaiser. But the Space Police leader has an android body. The Guard team is a really fun combiner but the Baron team is wasted.
The Brave Fighter of Legend Da-Garn: Once again aliens are invading, but this time Earth has its own defense. A kid has to find all the Brave Stones to awaken Earth's protectors. It was a solid, good show.
The Brave Express Might Gaine: I really thought I would like this one because Trains, but This could have been a piloted Robo show with very little difference. You would enjoy if you like Gundam type stories. Also the song that plays over Might Gaines transformation drove me batty. Watchable but my least favorite.
Brave Police J-Decker: I know a lot of TF fans have already seen this one. It is one of the best out of the Yuusha series. It has these great moments of being almost a serious cop show. Please watch this, I am not normal about any of these characters.
The Brave of Gold Goldran: Similar plot to Da-Garn with the Stone collecting plot. The animation of the human characters is a wildly different style from the robots. Really gives Children playing with toys vibe to the plot. Cute and fun to watch. Some great Robot characters.
Brave Command Dagwon: Gets a bad rap for not having sentient robots. This is not true. There are two sentient robots and their story brought me to tears. The Power Rangers like main plot was fun, But if you're only in it for the Robots, I do recommend sticking it out they are worth the wait.
The King of Braves GaoGaiGar: Do not watch if you have sensitivity to flashing lights, the main baddy lair is a horrible strobe pit. This show gave me a migraine. It was worth it, though. There's a fun ninja and so many Twin Robots I love them all

tokusatsu series to start with
kamen rider build: an amnesiac physicist saves a disgraced boxer from human experimentation. also a mysterious artifact from mars split the country of Japan into three smaller countries separated by giant walls. sento is one of my favorite kamen rider protagonists of all time, he is very smart and very rude but part of that is to hide his deep sadness. part of it is also that he is naturally a little shithead. famously this series was advertised as featuring "heated drama between men" and boy does it
kamen rider ooo: a wandering hippie strikes a deal with a coin based alchemy monster named ankh to help ankh get his body back. for most of the show ankh is only an arm and he either floats around or possesses the body of another character, giving him a cool monster arm. the theme of this series is "desire" and like, the lengths people will go to get what they desire and the way they behave when they have nothing left. it's very silly at times but also deeply emotional
kamen rider fourze: it's set in a high school where a group of very different teens come together as friends, and one of them is kamen rider. all the hits you would expect from a high school anime or tv show but there are also monsters and fights. it's really high energy and fun but has a great emotional core
-
ultraman x: a digital being of light from space downloads himself into the work phone of a monster researcher and they become ultraman together. one of the best series for the relationship between the human host and the ultraman. every member of the team gets their day in the limelight. it's very episodic compared to kamen rider or even more recent ultraman shows but each episode is enjoyable
ultraman orb: a team of bloggers who report on supernatural phenomena meet a mysterious wanderer who wears a cowboy hat and is very handsome. actually, he's ultraman orb, and they all continue to run into each other when crazy things happen around town. notable in that there is a female character, naomi, who is almost a co-lead with gai/ultraman orb, and the show focuses on the relationship between them. also jugglus juggler is there and if you like the tumblr sexyman archetype...!
ultraman z: an inexperienced young ultraman and a passionate meathead jock team up to fight monsters. it gets intense in the second half and is really good. also has an ambiguously romantic relationship between the male lead and his cool mech pilot senpai that I love a lot. potentially better to watch this one after orb as characters from orb appear in it but it's free and subtitled on youtube
-
kaizoku sentai gokaiger: this is the first sentai I watched! I think it makes a good start bc it's an anniversary season where the characters meet up with past sentai and learn about them. so if anything looks interesting you can try watching that. although there are some spoilers for previous series. the core cast of gokaiger is really strong on their own too. they are space pirates fighting an evil empire that's trying to take over earth and while some of them act like they're amoral they actually care a lot <3 also very episodic, sentai tends to have less serialized plots
mashin sentai kiramager: talking gemstones from another world that can also turn into cars select a team to fight evil, which includes four competent adults and one high schooler who loves to draw. and he's the leader. it's a really fun time and I love all the characters. especially the pink ranger sayo who is a genius surgeon and in a band and does judo and basically is perfect
samurai sentai shinkenger: one of my faves. a team of samurai are assembled to fight monsters who have appeared from the sanzu river. they all have a lot of baggage to work through, especially the leader, but they form a strong and loving team. the design in this one is incredible bc it leans so hard into the traditional Japanese theme. incredibly stylish and with characters I love

It was way too late to be my birthday... but we had a party anyway.
If I was to fail a personality test, it would probably be because my favorite movie is unironically the 1999 cult classic "Mystery Men" based VERY loosely on the comic of the same name. While I was aware of it when it came out, I was unable to see it until I snagged a copy out of a bargain bin in a K-Mart on a family vacation. It is an anomaly of a movie. A superhero movie before even Spider-Man had really made a mark. An all-star cast. An All Star soundtrack. No, really, the song All Star was written for this soundtrack. Captain Amazing was taking out bad guys in Neoprene before Ben Affleck was even approached to pull on the red suit. it made negative 87 billion dollars and was by all accounts a *terrible* film to work on, and the director never made another movie again. It is remarkable.
So when my friend said we should do a little something after Paul Reubens passed, I lost no time in putting together a little "not really my birthday anymore but I'll use it as an excuse" Mystery Men themed soiree. These were the results:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all, the menu. I love a theme party and coming up with fun food and drinks to serve. While there are a few specific foods featured in the movie, I decided instead to embrace the aesthetic of the setting while is like if a Cheesecake Factory was a city with a population of 3.5 million. I made pretty much everything from scratch, down to folding my own wontons and a lot of trial and error to make nori chips.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The spread! I have good friends so a lot of them helped me plate things as people started to arrive, helping to make sure the hot things stayed hot and the crispy things stayed crispy for serving.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My buddy is a trained baker, and makes specialty themed cakes as a side hustle. She's also a fan of the movie and was excited to try and tackle it as a theme- especially when she looked online and found zero (0) examples of Mystery Men themed cakes online. (Wonder why, haha.) She did an amazing version of Champion City around the sides with tons of detail, some All Star lyrics on top and even a nod to her favorite characters in the movie, the Disco Boys. The cake was yuzu flavored with fresh mango filling and super tasty! You can find her other cakes on Instagram @olive_bakes if you want to see some ADORABLE decorating jobs.
Keeping with theme, we had "Superhero Tryouts" and everyone had to come in costume as the most super version of themselves, complete with powers and origin story. We had several strong candidates, including:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Candy Cavity Crush: She uses her giant lollipop to knock people's teeth out… so they can eat more candy without fear of cavities
The Ranger: She discovered an alien crash site, since all of the aliens were dead she helped herself to their technology. She doesn't really know how to use it but that won't stop her. And she's pretty sure that when she powers up her bracelets she gets 20% stronger (with a 17% margin of error)
Unsexy M&M: Actually a supervillain with a single target, Tucker Carlson. (The application review committee considered her a hero by our standards.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Star Soldier: He was abducted by an alien race to fight in their space war but during trading they deemed that he was too dangerous with a space blaster and equipped him only with his "star sword" before returning him to Earth. (He was only gone for about a week.)
Flamin' Hot: She received her powers at the Korean BBQ where she resides, has the power to overcook your meat. (The interview committee has considered pairing her up with a cannibal hero to better weaponize her powers)
The Zookeeper: More of a schtick than a superpower, he captures an imprisons animal themed superheroes on his home planet for the inhabitants to enjoy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cyber Wolf: With his sidekick "Rocket Dog", he has the ability to find just about anything on the internet… By accident. He would also like you to know that the correct pronunciation of GIF is "Jyeff"
The Real Commander Shepherd: To escape any conversation tree by using their favorite tagline. Also may or may not have left 20 rapidly breeding hamsters behind in my home
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tiger Claw: Born with his incredible tiger powers, like the ability to crawl on all fours (although it did require several months training). He is also capable of growing out his fingernails several tenths of a centimeter and using them to scratch anything. Remarkably everyone in his family was born with the same abilities.
Blood Skull: Formerly an accountant, he killed and drink the blood of his co-worker Jerry and discovered he could read the thoughts of any person at the time their blood was taken. (Generally those thoughts are, OW, which isn't actually that helpful, But the committee is potentially interested if he still has his license as a CPA)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also these little guys who were automatically approved for membership on my super team. ^u^
Tumblr media
(I forgot to snap a photo of myself, but I was also there, dressed as The Bowler, making me the only real hero qualified to review applications, haha.)
We watched the movie (with a pause midway for interviews, of course) ate a lot of food and had a good time. I'm really happy that I have friends who are not only willing to participate in my shenanigans, but embrace the silliness- I think it leads to a better time for us all. Looking forward to the next time we can all hang out like this. <3

Story below the cut. Thank you so much for reading!
Click. The snaps of the hairclip are clasped around my hair now. Without a mirror, I can’t tell exactly how it looks, but I pinned it to the exact same spot as that dead human so it must look just as good in my hair as it did in his. Better actually, seeing as he looked pretty pathetic. They always do—especially when they’re dead.
My head tilts as I stand over the body. There are small tears all over the clothes from those mechanical leeches. Death by exsanguination is fun, sure, but messy and…
My hands quickly shuffle through my expression cards. Frustration. The etched face glares down at those ripped clothes. Blood stains are fine. I’ve no problem with those. They add character. And besides, Safalin can always clean it off if I want. But tears and rips? Nothing doing! Guess, the hairpin’s all I’ll get out of this one.
With a huff and shrug of my shoulders, I switch expressions until my mouth is all cutesy like a little kitten that makes you want to throw up. Luckily there’s another one with clothes intact from the looks of it. Some cheeky bastard Miley couldn’t shut up about because he had the audacity to off himself or something. Where’s the fun in that?
My hands twitch—shuffling through mouths again until I’m grinning down at the second body. Not so cheeky now that he’s lying face down in his own blood. All that fake bravado and resistance only got him so much, huh? Humans are so stupid. Such pathetic and worthless creatures. Though this one’s not completely worthless, I suppose. At least his clothes aren’t all ripped up, and what’s that tied around his waist?
I flip the body.
It’s an apron.
My hands stop, and my head tilts curiously at the corpse. Have I seen this person somewhere before?
Sparks of electricity interrupt my train of thought. A malfunction perhaps? Faulty wiring? No good.
My vision goes suddenly blurry. There’s a whirring sound—a pounding and sparking sensation of misfiring circuitry.
I forget to change my expression. What is it right now? And what should it be? A grin? A frown? A—?
My head throbs. I have no choice but to stop thinking. All that’s left is the deafening whirring sound. The spinning room. Electric impulses to nowhere but a dark empty space. Broken wires. And a noise—a…a voice… You… You protected me.
I clutch my hair in clumps. My hands curling around that hairpin. Stop it. Dad will be so angry when he finds out about this. I’m his prized doll. His favorite—
The whirring finally stops. I can see something now. A…A dark crammed room. A cot in the corner. Two shadowy figures.
“What are you doing here, dumbass?” grunts the figure on the cot slowly coming into focus. He is curled around his stomach—wrapped with bandages soaked red with blood. Pathetic. Humans are always so easily injured.
“Sei, you’re okay.” The other figure has an expression not unlike the one many humans have right before they’re filled with crushing despair—as if they truly believe something better is waiting for them out there. I’ve seen it plenty of times, but there’s something especially familiar about this one. Have I seen this face before? Is this—?
I stop. That person…that boy. It’s that body with the apron.
I clutch my head as that whirring noise starts again. Electric sparks fire off into nowhere. I’ll have to talk to Safalin about this faulty wiring before Dad finds out.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” huffs the other figure, Sei, I guess. Humans and their stupid names I suppose.
“You’ve been unconscious for two days. I thought you were…”
Sei huffs and runs a hand through his matted orange hair. “It’s going to take more than a stupid stab wound to kill me, Kai.” He frowns—blinking at Kai with narrowed amber eyes. I think about reaching for one of my own expressions, but I can’t seem to move. What is this bullshit? Why does this tiny, weak human look so much like…?
“It was a deep wound,” argues Kai though his face and voice betray no emotions. “I asked Father to get you stitches. He eventually agreed. They were kind of crude though, so I’ve been trying to keep the wound clean.”
Sei frowns again. More sparks. More wires. I can hear his voice even though his mouth doesn’t move: “I bet Father would’ve made sure you got stitches, Kai.” My mouth twitches. He’s jealous of the little dumbass. Of course, he is. Humans are so predictable.
“You’ve always been Father’s favorite.” I hear Sei clear as day—that envy, that bitterness in his voice despite him not speaking any words at all. Can I read minds now? Not bad for a malfunction. Maybe I’ll keep that—if it’s not connected to that damn whirring sound and those shocks from live wires firing off into empty space, that is. There’s that throbbing in my head again. Clearly the circuit is interrupted or something.
“I was worried the wound might go septic so I’ve been replacing the bandages,” Kai says aloud. I guess I can’t read his mind, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just empty. He seems like the type. “I’ve also been making soup, but you haven’t been able to eat anything…”
“You made soup? Are you trying to poison me?” quips Sei, quirking an eyebrow. My head aches.
“No.” Kai blinks before fumbling around for a bowl and holding it out to Sei. Show off, I hear Sei think. My head whirls again. Can I only read Sei’s mind? And why in the hell does he look so much like—?
“Look at you, Kai,” Sei’s speaking voice cuts me off. Kai holds out a spoonful of soup to him, and as Sei reaches for it, he writhes in pain—coiling around that wound in his stomach in a way that’s clearly imperceptible to Kai but… I glance down at my hand clutching that exact spot on my own body on some kind of reflex. I can almost feel that wound throbbing in my side. What the hell? “You’re basically a house husband now. All you’re missing is an apron.”
Apron? My head tilts. Didn’t that body have an…?
That infernal whirring noise cuts off my thoughts. This has to be the strangest malfunction in history. Am I somehow seeing that cheeky dumbass’s life flashing before his eyes?
No. Something immediately clicks somewhere amidst the misfiring wires. Not Kai. Sei. This is Sei’s memory.
My head spins, and I start to lose my balance. I can’t believe it has taken me so long to realize it. No wonder that pathetic little human looks so much like me. He must have been the basis for my AI.
Unable to reach for my expression cards, my own mouth curves into a frown. I am definitely malfunctioning. I’m a perfected version of a human—the superior Sei, I suppose you could say. I shouldn’t see his memories like this so why—?
“You think so?” asks Kai, cutting me off. I can’t remember what he and Sei were even talking about, but Sei must have found it amusing seeing as he snorted a dry chuckle.
“Yeah, but you don’t need to do anything else. I’m fine now.”
My head burns with the sparks of live wires in busted circuitry again. What the hell’s going on?
“Sei…”
“What’d you even want to take care of me for anyway?” he snaps jerking away from Kai. He slumps over, and his whole body seems to twist around his injury. The dumbass human. That wound is probably throbbing with pain from the sudden movement, and my own side pangs—as if I can feel the sting of his wounds just like I can feel his jealousy. His frustration. His anger. His… His…
My head tilts, and I blink at him. There is something else there, but I don’t have a clue what it is. Before I can even begin to think of it, however, I hear those same words from when I first started malfunctioning.
“You…You protected me.”
Sei huffs. “Why would I do that, airhead?”
“You protected me,” Kai repeats matter-of-factly. “You didn’t have to, and if you hadn’t, you wouldn’t have been injured.”
“I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing doing,” Sei insists, but his words are laced with indignance and—fear? What could he possibly be afraid of?
Kai just blinks at him—for far too long, in my opinion, and then he says exactly the kind of dumbass comment you’d expect from a human: “Thank you, Sei.”
As I wait for Sei to rage or argue or tell him off, my head starts throbbing again marking the return of that unbearable whirring noise.
“Forget about it,” Sei grunts. “We’re even now—since you looked after me or whatever. Don’t make this a big deal.”
Kai shakes his head—the infuriating little bastard, but I don’t pick up on much anger or frustration from Sei. Stupid human…
“It’s not about getting even, Sei. I didn’t take care of you for that.”
“Then why…?” Sei only mumbles, but Kai must have understood. He meets his eyes.
“Because we’re brothers.”
Immediately, Sei rolls over on the cot so he’s facing away from Kai, his brother apparently though they don’t look a thing alike. He groans clutching his wound which he must’ve forgotten about for a moment. Tears well in his eyes—the pathetic little human. Their tolerance for pain is always so low. But it’s strange… I don’t feel much of that pang in my side this time.
My brow furrows. Sei must be utterly tortured by his wound given how red and puffy his eyes suddenly became. How agonizingly painful it must be. I wonder why I don’t feel it anymore—I don’t feel anything of his anymore. No anger. No inferiority. No fear. No jealousy. He’s feeling—my head throbs again—something else? Something more? Something deeper…?
Those sparks of electricity dart through my mind as it whirls and pounds—probably trying to complete its busted-up circuit but winding up dead in empty space. Empty space?
“Sei?” asks Kai rushing over to the other side of the cot. When he sees Sei’s bloodshot eyes, his own eyes widen.
Huffing, Sei covers his face with his hands. “Dammit, Kai!”
“I didn’t want you to see that,” I can hear his thoughts clear as day. “I didn’t want you to know…”
Know? Know what?
Kai blinks at him for a long time. My head spins. Sei wipes his eyes. Broken wires fire at random—sparks flying everywhere as if they’re darting into dark and empty corners of my mind I didn’t know I had. What?
Bullshit! If I’m following his brain patterns mine should be even better than his—not filled with faulty wires and empty spaces.
“Kai!” Sei’s startled gasp distracts me once again from my own malfunctioning mind. Kai has his arms draped around him. I shake my head. What a stupid thing—especially seeing as he’ll probably just end up bumping, poking, or aggravating that injury. Sei, however, doesn’t seem to care. His whole, tense body seems to relax as he shifts in his seat so he can wrap an arm around Kai shoulders.
I hear Sei’s thoughts loud, clear, and determined as his brother grips onto him tightly and pulls him close. “I’d do it again—if that’s what it took to protect you.”
That whirring noise. That pounding in my head. The little sparks and burns of misfired electric currents. If I could move, I would clutch my aching head, but I can’t move. I can barely even think. I can only watch, growing more and more painfully aware of a glaring break in my malfunctioning circuit—of my faulty wires and empty spaces.
I clench my fist. Does Sei have something…I don’t?
Surely not. After all, I am his perfected version—his superior version. Dad’s greatest creation. There’s nothing a filthy, worthless human could have that I don’t already possess in its most perfect form.
But then—what? What is he—?
“I’m just… I’m glad you’re okay…” Sei mumbles quickly before pulling away from Kai as I wrack my brain with bits and pieces of unanswered questions. Feeling those electric currents in dark synapses to nowhere—as if something is…missing.
Faulty wires. Empty spaces.
Something burns in my mind. Am I really that…broken?
My head pounds and so does my circuitry—pulsing with rage as I grit my teeth, clench my fists, then tear and swipe at the memory. I shouldn’t have dark and empty corners. I shouldn’t have busted up circuits or faulty wiring. My circuitry is perfect. My programming is perfect. I am perfect. Superior to this flawed prototype. I am not broken!
I rip that worthless human’s memory apart until it’s as torn and bedraggled as the clothes on the body of the Sacrifice. Now that even the phantom of that memory is in shreds, I can see that body and its ripped up clothes again—weak, pathetic, and useless, slumped over in a worthless dead heap. Just like Kai’s.
I tower over what’s left of him—staring at it until I can see nothing else. Nothing except his long, matted strands of hair, his pale, sallow skin, and wrinkled, bloodstained apron. My head throbs and burns with live wires of broken circuits. I can still hear his voice.  You…You protected me.
I pound at my head with clenched fists. Tugging at clumps of my hair. Pulling at that hairpin until…it all finally ends.
…
My head tilts as I stare down at his body. I shuffle through my expression cards until I’m grinning once again. No more faulty wires. No more empty spaces.
With a swift flourish, I take his apron. It’s mine now.

day 18 // a lil' life update :)
dates written : January 16th/17th - 2024, Tuesday/Wednesday
Well! It has been quite a while since I last wrote, hasn't it? Exactly two weeks, dang. So, I thought about just doing more of a life update for this one. ;) Which will probably, basically still be about self focusing.
!! WARNING !! I will be using a lot of photos. ;)))
Well, at the start of the month I had some friend hand outs I went to. My bestie since grade school and I hung out together finally, we don't see each other too often since she's still in school; senior year of high school, which is a very busy year. Or it was for me.

One of our favorite things to do that we've done since we became friends and "hangouts" were a thing for us, is dressing up to different, fun themes! So we did that again, bringing back old memories. :,) The theme above is: Going to a 1882 French Play. Very specific, I know. But that makes it more fun.
I had two more friend hangouts after, one was with some of my "once in a while friends." Like the friends you get together with once in a while. One of my close friends is involved in those hangouts, though, which I'm very grateful for since at times I feel like I don't completely fit with the group. But she helps. :) And I'm not saying my other friends are bad, they aren't, and I do like seeing them every now and then.
Speaking of that one close friend I mentioned:
Tumblr media
Okay, okay, let me give context. At this group hangout, it was with my closer friends, for one friend's 19th birthday. One of the games we played was called "Stir the Pot." Which is a fun game, but it can be a little iffy sometimes. You just gotta remember it's a game. But me and another friend didn't want to be too mean, so we played more mellow cards.
Now, the photo context: one friend got this card to give to someone and during their time of debating who to give it to, Zainah and I (the one in the white dress) were being incredibly silly and laughing while Zainah was trying to pour some coca-cola into a cup. So the card ended up going to both of us which was probably the core highlight of the night, because we both absolutely lost it together.
Tumblr media
Getting into the topic of all things books-of course-I got another bookshelf! I currently have three, but one of them is a very small one, and the other one is about half the size of the one in the photo, with less shelf room. So obviously, I need more book space. AND- I got this one for free! It used to be from someone my family knew that she was going to throw out. So with the help of my brother and virtual encouragement of my sister, we spent a day fixing it up and putting it in my room! The next day I shelved books and decorated it. :)
Tumblr media
One of the books I'm making my way through is Live by Sadie Robertson. It's a really amazing book for me to read right now, it's helping with my faith and also gives me comfort! I really like Sadie's style of writing, so I'm enjoying this one. :) I have also been doing a study in Psalm too, I read at least one chapter a day, or at least, I try to. Focusing on myself has really helped me focus on my relationship with God too. It's been a rough time in the past, but it's better now. <3
Tumblr media
Before I get too invested in talking more about my self focusing journey, some last minute things: it has been very cold here in good ol' Kansas. We've been getting a lot of snow and when, yes, it is so pretty and I love snow, I am SO ready for spring weather. But a cool thing that I was able to do, because it was so cold, is walk on a frozen lake! (or pond, my park ranger brother would know, haha) My parents and I visited my brother at his work where he's a park ranger and my brother and I walked along the edge of the lake! It was so cool to see all the frozen things beneath me. The little feather lookin' things on top of the water are frozen leaves! Even if it was freezing and I definitely should've worn boots, it was beautiful.
The other day, my mom and I went to one of our small town coffee shops; I can't remember exactly what drink I got but it was super good. I've come to really love that place and their drinks. :) When we got back home, Mom made a pot of tea and it was just a nice cozy day. It had started to snow and became very windy on the way home, so I'm glad we left when we did. It was a good day to just chill and hang out with my mom. :) <3
Back to some *new-ish* self focusing/discovery things!
(I hope you like my very well thought out title) ;p
Tumblr media
So, a little bit of backstory: some people might remember, if you read my posts when I first joined tumblr, I would write some things about the Aspec/AroAce* community. Those posts are not up anymore, the reason being is that I stopped identifying as AroAce. But what I didn't realize until now is the real reason why I stopped identifying as AroAce. The reason I had thought why I stopped is, that I felt like I could/did (wanted to) experience romantic or sexual attraction. So, really, I was like: I was wrong (I was sad), I want a romantic relationship (do you, though? really think about it bro). I left the label behind, not wanting anything to do with it. I wanted to feel those attractions and when I thought about how I couldn't, I would feel really sad about it. How I would end up alone (which is not a bad thing) and my friends would all leave me behind to live lives with their romantic partners (my overthinking brain was telling me these things). I felt extremely lonely. That's when society's ideas and views on the Aspec community/labels started contorting my own. I started believing society's thoughts on it and thought that I just needed to stop being sad and how to do that was to ditch the AroAce label. (which, in some cases/for some people, ditching labels helps, but for me, labels can help me understand who I am and why I feel/think the way that I do)
Little did I know that the reason why I felt so sad every time I thought about being AroAce wasn't because I'm AroAce, but because of what society says about the Aspec community. I let those false ideas and thoughts into my head when I should've been kicking them to the curb. BUT! We all learn from mistakes and honestly, I think that it wasn't a complete mistake for me to stop identifying as AroAce. Because NOW, I have a much better understanding of myself and my identity, and some of it comes from me attempting to hide who I really am back then. (I say "back then," but it was really only a couple months ago)
Of course, I'm still working through my self acceptance and self discovery, but really, me realizing that I'm Aspec-again-couldn't come at a better time! It has helped me focus more on myself as well as help me discover more about myself. :) Earlier this week I had an amazing realization that God's timing really is perfect. If I wouldn't have been thinking about my Aspec identity, I probably would be struggling more to focus on myself. So it works out great!
*Aromantic Asexual - a person does not experience, or rarely experiences romantic or sexual attraction. There are many different kinds of AroAce and countless ways on how to be AroAce, and none of them are wrong! It just depends on the person and how they identify with their own Aspec identity. (Aspec definition in photo above)
Tumblr media
(AroAce art from pinterest) The AroAce flag are those colors, if you didn't know. ;) (though, there are many different versions of the flag)
As you might've already gathered, I used to identify as "AroAce," now, I think I prefer "Aspec." I feel like Aspec is more broad than what AroAce is, in my own opinion. Honestly? I don't know exactly where I land on the Aromantic Asexual spectrum. And that's okay! I'm actually okay with that now. I'm fine with just doing my own research at my own pace, wanting to think about my Aspec identity as much as I want to. :) I had so much trouble accepting and loving my Aspec identity before and I'm not going to let that happen again. If later down the road, I decide it isn't a label for me, then okay! IDENTITY IS FLUID! Which can be very frustrating at times, but it's a beautiful thing too. :)
And now you see why I wanted to wait until the end to talk about my self focusing things: I have a LOT to say. So, don't be surprised if I have more Aspec-focused posts coming out! The world needs more Aspec representation!! Plus, I like writing about it. ;)
Tumblr media
One last photo of my doggo, Charlie who got a haircut the other day and my mom brought him to our shop. He approves. ;)
I hope you enjoyed my life update! And if you didn't, well, no offense, but I don't really care. I do these writings for myself because I enjoy doing them. :)
And, if you are a fellow Aspec, remember that there is a place for you in this world! It is a wonderful and beautiful thing to be a part of this community. You and how you feel are valid, no matter who you are or how you identify.
Until next time,
Thalia <3

Prepare For Trouble
Tommy and Kat have a plan to finally catch Jason's Pikachu!
-----------
Jason, Billy, Trini, Zack and Kim had just sat down to eat when familiar theme music echoed tthrough the clearing.
Jason sighed as he stared hungrily at his food. "Of course they'd show up now."
"Prepare for trouble!" Kat announced.
"Make it double!" Tommy answered.
"Can't this wait until after lunch?" Kim asked.
"To protect the world from devastation!" Kat continued.
"To unite all peoples within our nation!" Tommy echoed.
"Statistically speaking, Team Rocket does have an eighty percent chance of showing up at the most inconvenient time," Billy pointed out.
"Only eighty? Feels higher," Trini commented.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Mm mmhm hmm!" Zach took a drink of water to clear his full mouth. "You said it Trini."
"Kat!"
"Tommy!"
"Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light!" Kat posed so her arm and leg took the shape of an "R".
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!" Tommy completed the pose with his back against hers. Solidifying the "R's" spine.
"Purrsian! That's right!" Saba finished holding up Jason's Pikachu in front of them.
"Pika!" He called from inside the electricity proof glass bubble.
"Hey!" Jason's head turned from Team Rocket to the empty space where his Pikachu was eating his food and back again. He shot to his feet, hand scrambling for a PokeBall. "Give him back!"
"Aaaand that's all the time we have folks!" Tommy called down from their hot air balloon. "See you next week!"
"Venasaur use razor leaf!" Billy shouted. "Wouldn't it be easier to just catch a wild Pikachu like a normal person?"
"Pidgeot gust!" Tommy countered.
"Where's the fun in that?" Kat asked.
"Besides, our boss is obsessed with this Pikachu," Saba added, tapping the glass cage with his paw.
Before the rest of them could attack Tommy directed his Pidgeot to blow them quickly away.
"Pikachu!" Jason called out dramatically as Team Rocket became a speck in the distance.
"Oh boy." Billy pulled out his Pokedex and started disassembling it for the fifth time. At least he knew what he was doing now.
"Uh, Billy? What you up to dude?" Zach asked.
"If I can combine the Pokedex's scanning capabilities with Pikachu's unique waveform stored in his PokeBall I should be able to triangulate their geographical location."
"... Come again?" Kim asked.
"He's making a Pikachu tracker," Trini explained.
"Ohhh," they all chorused.
Meanwhile, at Team Rocket's "evil" makeshift campsite:
"Genius using our motto as a distraction while Saba snuck up behind them Kat," Tommy praised with his head in her lap.
"I know." Kat gave him a teasing grin as she brushed a knot out of his hair.
"Ow!"
Saba rolled his eyes in exasperated fondness at his humans before turning back to their 'guest'. "Why hasn't your human given you a name besides 'Pikachu'?"
"Pikachu pika Pikachu!" Pikachu huffed, crossing his little arms and turning his nose up at the Purrsian.
"Alright, fair enough," Saba conceded, throwing his paws up in surrender.
"What'd he say?" asked Tommy.
"He said 'Pikachu's name is Pikachu' which is honestly very Pikachu of him."
Pikachu's ears twitched but he didn't open his eyes.
Kat chuckled. There were times Saba forgot to explain certain subtleties of the Pokemon lexicon. "Sounds like Jason just got lazy."
"Pi-pika! Pikachu!"
"Well that's not very nice," Saba admonished.
"What's that rodent saying about my wife?" Tommy made to stand but Kat pushed him back down.
"He can say whatever he likes from inside that globe."
"Piii! Kaaaa! Chuuuuuu!" Lightning flashed bright enough to give Saba afterimages but not a spark escaped. The effort leaving Pikachu winded.
"So!" Saba started once Pikachu got his breath back. "How do you feel about unions?"
Pikachu tilted his head. "Pi-ka?"
----------
Tommy was woken up by the loss of circulation in his wrists. "Wha...?" he looked up. "Oh no."
"Oh yes!" Jason grinned, wearing an imitation Team Rocket uniform.
"Please, this is embarrassing for everyone!" Kat said, tied up next to Tommy.
"Prepare for trouble!" Jason ignored them pressing play on the theme song.
"And make it double double!" Zack backflipped into view.
"To protect the world from devastation!" Trini posed.
"To ignite all peoples within our nation!" Kim mirrored her.
"This is just insulting," Saba hissed, hogtied.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!" Billy continued.
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jason!"
"Zack!"
"Trini!"
"Kim!"
"And Billy! That's right!"
"Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light!" Zack grabbed Kim and hoisted her up like they practiced.
"Surrender now or prepare to fight all of us!" Trini demanded.
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu finished.
"Man, that was fun!" Zack grinned.
"Yeah, now I know why they say that dumb stuff all the time!"
"First of all," Tommy gritted his teeth. "It's 'unite all people within our nation' not ignite."
"If you're going to mock us you might as well get it right!" Kat snapped, trying to look imposing despite being tied up.
"Oh don't worry," a mischievous glint came into Jason's eye. "There's one catchphrase we left all for you."
"W-why do I get the feeling we're not going to like this?" Saba asked.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!"
Several thousand volts of electricity launched Team Rocket into the sky. Their bindings burning off and trailing smoke from the explosion.
Tommy crossed his arms. "In hindsight, we definitely could've parked further away."
Kat sighed. "Boys, I think it's time we went freelance."
"Boss finally get to ya?" Saba smirked.
"She wants that Pikachu so bad she can come down here and get it herself!"
"What about the name?" Tommy pouted. "It's trademarked."
"Since when has that stopped us?"
"I like this idea!" Saba agreed.
Tommy nodded. "It'll make her positively furious! On three?"
"You know I don't like countdowns."
Grinning, Tommy hugged Kat and Saba as they became a point of light in the sky.
"Team Rocket's blasting off agaiiiiiiin!"
-----------
"Hey, Kim? What's Pikachu doing with the other Pokemon?" Jason asked as he set down their food.
"Hmm? Dunno. They've been at it all morning. Aipom came a while ago and grabbed a bunch of markers."
"Hey guys! Breakfast!" Zack called to them.
The Pokemon turned to look at their trainers before scrambling hurriedly. Lifting up signs that had a simple drawing of a food pellet crossed out. Others looked like they had PokeBalls on them.
"Pika pi!" Pikachu came marching at the front. Kinda dwarfed by Zack's Steelix and Trini's Charizard. Climbing onto Jason's Blastoise he went on a short speech which the other Pokemon cheered.
Jason blinked. "Uhhhh, what?"
"It appears our Pokemon have gained worker consciousness and are now attempting to renegotiate the particulars of their social contract with us," Billy observed.
Jason looked at him for a moment before turning to Trini.
"They formed a union."
"What!?" Kim, Jason and Zack exclaimed at once.
"Pi!" Pikachu pointed at Trini and nodded.
"Uh, well..." Jason looked at his Pokemon. Eyes landing on the crossed out PokeBall. "We can't have all of you out of your PokeBalls all the time."
"Pika pi!" Pikachu shook his head and gestured at Kim's Eevee. Who dashed into her bag.
"Hey! C'mon you know I don't like you rummaging through my stuff."
Eevee popped her head out with Kim's planner in her mouth.
"A planner? You mean like a rotating schedule for PokeBall time?" Jason asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu grinned.
Jason looked at his friends and at the signs. Some of which had things that weren't as obvious as the others.
"Well you know what they say about keeping your Pokemon happy," Kim shrugged.
"And it's not like the towns we've passed have been stingy with their communal Pokemon resources," Trini added.
"Yeah, dude! They're part of our team too!" Zack said.
"If they're asking then it's best to listen," Billy agreed.
"Alright, alright," Jason smiled, turning to Pikachu. "It might take a while considering Saba is miles from here but we'll hear you out."
Pikachu grinned. "Pika!"

Week in Review
07/14/2024 – 07/20/2024
Sunday
Week 23 of missing Cipher Academy
Undead Unluck was pretty cute this week. It’s great to see that even in this loop, Tatiana still loves Panpanda…I’d love to hug the Panpanda mascot too…
One Piece is so good…get them robot boy…
Monday
Nothing whoops
Tuesday
Chainsaw Man…
After playing it feverishly for the past week, I finally 100%d Kirby and the Forgotten Land (and on Wild Beast mode, too). I’m not a hardcore gamer by any means, and this is what one might call a “game for babies,” but man some of the true final bosses were really tough. The game as a whole was super fun, though – I love games where you look around for collectibles, and this one certainly had those in spades. But I also appreciate that they designed each level in a way where if you had to replay it, you can just speed through it pretty quickly. All the little achievements and challenges were super fun (…most of the time), and I loved upgrading these familiar Kirby abilities into bigger and cooler things. And of course, all the Mouthful abilities are pretty funny. My favourite ability was Ranger – I loved just sniping enemies from afar and using the space blast and auto lock-on to cheese bosses. Speaking of the bosses…this was like the Dark Souls of video games for me, but I surprised myself by actually getting decent at memorizing patterns and dodging attacks (again, the most action intensive game I’ve played other than this is has been button mashing my way through Yakuza 0). And even though the coliseum wrecked my thumb, I had a lot of fun getting through it, and managed to beat the weird final boss orb thing by the skin of my teeth. And of course, all the gachapon figures were super cute and fun to collect. Overall, I’d give this game a 9/10.
I ended up dropping City of Girls because after we got to the theater, the story didn’t seem like it was going to be the vibes I was looking for…and after checking some reviews, I think my intuition was right. It seems like it’s more of a young girls having reckless fun story rather than a Revue Starlight We’re Already On The Stage type story, so I didn’t feel the need to read any further.
Wednesday
The new Oshi no Ko chapter is so annoying lol we’re just hitting all the cliché thriller beats now, huh? First the tragic misunderstanding and now the eleventh hour twist that the true culprit was an actual “crazed fangirl,” okay… After Oshi no Ko wraps up, I probably won’t read anything from this writer again. I’ve just completely lost all faith in their ability to wrap up a compelling story and make good on an interesting premise.
Started reading A Magical Girl Retires, which caught my eye with its gorgeous cover and intriguing premise. So far, the opening chapter spoke to me so much that it was scary, but the actual prose feels a little lacking.
Thursday
Alright, I finished A Magical Girl Retires, and god I wish it was a 300 page novel or a 24 episode anime instead. There really just wasn’t enough time to get to know the characters and see them developing a bond with each other, especially when it came to the light bit of queer love between the protagonist and Ah Roa. I feel like the ending would’ve been a lot more impactful if we had time to properly meet the supporting cast, explore the mystery of the protagonist’s ability before the truth is revealed, and slowly develop the tension of the true antagonist. The prose was also so stiff throughout, and lacked any personality or flair to this story all about beautiful magical girls. I get that they were trying to take a realistic approach to the genre, but if they’re going to have magical items and transformations anyway, I would’ve liked for them to have been written more descriptively. And the message we’re supposed to take away from this story at the end was fairly basic and almost cheesy… The overall themes feel so well considered, though, if you think about the intersection between capitalism and paying the price and how that manifests through our protagonist, so I think there’s a really good skeleton in this book. It was just the execution that was sorely lacking for me. Unfortunately, the best thing about A Magical Girl Retires is the cover art (and also she should’ve been called the Magical Girl of Balance…c’mon the credit card imagery is right there).
I also caught up with the ending of Akuheki and it’s fine. I can see they’re trying to maintain some hints of deviancy and darkness in the main relationship, but it’s just such a far cry from how they were in the beginning, and I’m not invested enough in the characters to be happy for their picturesque happy ending. I liked the bonus chapter with the co-worker and the housekeeper guy, but…c’mon…not even a smooch? Damn… Akuheki had a lot of potential for me in the beginning, and I think my enjoyment of the story peaked around volume 2 or 3, but overall I have to give it like a 6/10.
Friday
Started reading He Who Drowned the World, and I was worried about it not living up to the first book, but then we got a politically-motivated blowjob in the first 50 pages and we are SO back. It was never actually over but we are SO BACK.
Saturday
Touched grass and bought a physical copy of Seishi Yokomizo’s The Village of Eight Graves today.

That anon again. Thank you for listening to my rambling. And if it matters any, Joseph gets plenty of chances to Suffer during my dep's canon. Because we're (plural because this is all from an RP verse my best friend and I have where she plays Joseph and a 'John fucker' GFH while I play my dep and John) bitches like that and can't let the Seed boys get away with being the worst without suffering for it. (1/?)
A major theme of Joe and Dep's relationship is 'be careful what you wish for' since he spends a good early portion of things wanting to change her to fit his whims (for her 'own good' of course), but oops, he gets attached to who she is but by the time he realizes it, his actions are already responsible for her having begun to change for the worse. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, Joseph. Now suffer. And I'm rambling again, but I had another question to ask. Two actually.
First: how did you first get comfortable with sharing Syb with the rest of tumblr? I ask because part of me is tempted to do this with my Dep, but the other part of me is scared of being perceived and judged for my dep, my interpretations of characters, etc. Two: With Augustine becoming Faith, did Joseph specifically pull this to punish Syb? Because I'm getting big 'you took my family member, now I take yours' vibes. And it sounds about right and petty and fucked up enough for Joe. (3/3)
f;lakdjfaldfkj that's TOTALLY FAIR i sure as hell don't let jacob off easy either fal;dfjkadf
and OOF well...to answer question 1: i've been shouting about my ocs into the void of the internet for the past several years (got started in the dragon age fandom, moved to the general dnd fandom, and ended up here) having friends already on tumblr/in the fandom space to share ideas and bounce off of certainly helps. it's for sure scary!, but tbh? the more you talk about them the more curious people will get. at least that's been my experience. and then of course, engaging with other people who have their own ocs, rb-ing their art/fic/sending asks for ask games and prompt lists are a great way to kind of find your place in the fandom/community and make friends! And to address your fear of being judged for your dep/interpretations of characters, i'll just say this: fandom would be boring if everyone had the exact same interpretation of the characters and it's ok to disagree with an interpretation as long as you're not a dick about it, yk? And, just like people irl, everyone's deputy is different and adds to the fandom!
my advice: do whatever you feel most comfortable doing. make your characters in picrews and do those uquizes! I normally open tag, so if you see one from me that you like! tag me! this includes wip wednesdays/whenevers too if you ever feel brave enough to share any writing you have! BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, you are your oc's number one fan! if (god forbid, and i've never seen this happen personally) someone doesn't like them and has the gall, the sheer audacity to say that to your face? block them. have fun with your oc is what i'm getting at. they're your little barbie/bratz/whatever doll that inspires the most nostalgia for you. we're all just playing little games, telling little stories and dressing up our personal blorbos however we want. :)
as for question 2:
ahh.. poor sweet Augustine. So, Augustine is a park ranger who was on duty at the Whitetails Ranger Station the night of the Reaping and was injured in a pretty nasty fall. One of his coworkers (another oc, Shaw) is one of Jacob's Chosen (who spent a lot of time undercover as a civilian), and after hearing that the Deputy escaped, he essentially lets Jacob know that they have a piece of leverage against her. He's sent to Joseph to heal, where he's very subtley and slowly indoctrinated into the cult. He keeps Augustine hidden from Syb and he also keeps it secret that Syb is the one causing misery to the Cult/newfound family Augustine has found himself welcomed into (as much as he and syb love each other, they're not perfect and uh...there are some abandonment issues there). anyway, i'm still kind of ironing out the details of it all, but essentially, after john and faith are neutralized (john dead and faith/rachel safe and getting clean) jacob and joseph are like, "alright, time to use our secret weapon." Syb knows they have Augustine at this point, but she's under the impression that he's a prisoner, not a member of the cult.
So they meet up on neutral ground (i'm thinking tanami island) only instead of a loving and wholesome reunion, Syb finds out that her brother drank the kool-aid and Augustine finds out that his sister is the one causing the "unnecessary" violence plaguing the Project (which also, Joseph is very careful to shield Augustine from the actual violence, and paints the Project as a much more peaceful organization than it actually is). Anyway, cult tactics win over in Augustine's head and he turns against Syb, and given the power vacuum in the Henbane and his *ahem* closeness to Joseph, he's offered the mantle of Herald/Brother Faith. And. Yeah. It's definitely a method to punish/break Syb, and it's also a way to reward Augustine for his loyalty. Even she wouldn't kill or arrest her own brother. That reunion with her brother is the beginning of Syb's breaking point, and everything after that is just her slipping into misery, helplessness, and despair. everything about this is exploitative as hell :)

Ideas for Precure Fanseries/Precure series in general
- Boy Cure who's a Cure for more than 1 or 2 episodes. - Physically disabled Cure (wheelchair-bound, prosthetics, cane-user). - Mute Cure! - Multiple boy Cures. - Another black Cure (either skin tone or theme colour). - Another white Cure (theme colour-wise, we've got plenty skin-tone-wise) - Nonbinary Cure? - Genderfluid Cure. - Another robot Cure (Ruru was good but we need MORE). - Puppet/doll theme. - Circus theme? - CLOWNS? - More redeemed villains, always. - Mentor figures that actually know what they're doing. - Less morally ambiguous royalty. - Space out the arcs. - Macguffins that have a purpose. - Worldbuilding~! - Do we need to make merchandise? - Even focus on each Cure. - Maybe we don't always need Macguffins. - Even focus on all characters, actually. - Don't make your villains feel one-dimensionally evil. - Complete. Your. ARCS. - You can make your villains irredeemable, but that doesn't mean you have to. - Cover heavy topics, but don't make it too dark or melodramatic. - Make up your mind on a tone. - Keep your main leads likable, but don't be afraid to give them flaws. - Blind/deaf Cure? - Alien Cure (Lala was pretty good so let's have MORE). - Give mascots focus too! But don't make them overshadow the Cures. - No more Plot Device/Deus Ex Machina Babies. We've got more than enough of those, just let the babies be babies. - Don't ship the Cures with the mascots. Just don't. - Don't ship the Cures with the villains, also. - Actually, don't ship the Cures with anyone below or above their age range. Seriously. - Don't shove heterosexuality where it doesn't belong. - Technology theme. - DON'T SHOW A CURE GIVING BIRTH ON-SCREEN I SWEAR TO KOTOHA- - Mama Cure! - More Trans Cures! - Art theme? - Dark Cures/Psycho Rangers? - Asexual Cures. - Jester? - More autistic Cures! - More autistic characters in general! - Autistic villains? Maybe? - Foreign Cures, better than the last time they were used.
Feel free to add on!

Why Medix is Almost Definitely Autistic
- Extremely logically-minded.
- Takes metaphors literally. (From "Life of the Party") Medix: Can you explain why everyone is upset with me? I would think being a stick in the mud is a good thing. To let you know how deep the puddle is, for example. Whirl: It's just a saying humans have. It means somebody who ruins a good time for everyone else. Medix: By using a stick. Whirl: What? No. Medix: So it's the mud that stops the fun? Now I see.
- Has a schedule and prefers to stick to it. (In "Medix Surprise", he dislikes surprises as he prefers to have things planned out and he gets annoyed at the other Recruits when they clean up all the leaves for him, because now he has nothing to do for a while. He also gets upset in "Heatwave's Shiny Coat" when Heatwave doesn't follow the dog-care plan he has)
- Takes a bit to recognise sarcasm or joking.
- Fixation on medic work (The Recruits think he loves bandages so much that it's a good idea to surprise with some) and animals.
- Gets along pretty well with animals/plants.
- Rather blunt at times. ("Critical Condition". Just, the entirety of "Critical Condition")
- Strong moral code (He became a Rescue Recruit for a reason)
- Hyper-organised. ("My cabinets are already fully stocked.")
- Possible stimming. (He bounces in the cockpit chair on the Sigma. He also dances to some pretty loud techno music)
There’s also this from the official TFWiki:
While not written as explicitly autistic, Medix was intentionally written in a way that left room for that interpretation. - From the Official Transformers Wiki.

Okay I'm having trouble finding everyone's posts from Friday. But I just watched chapter 9 and I have some thoughts.
Opening the episode with Din saying he doesn't gamble then ending it with him making a massive gamble was interesting. Although I genuinely don't think he ever does anything he doesn't believe he can do.
The fights in this episode are amazing. Just stunning:
The fight at the arena. The Child ducking when he sees the Birds activate. "I'm not." Really. Din, stop being so goddamn fucking hot, I'm trying to watch the damn show! The whole dangling the gangster part. "You won't die by my hand." (one of the best parts of the character Din Djarin is he is both viciously ruthless and honorable to a fault. I love it!)
The fighting at the end. Both men flying in sync to kill the beast. The Raiders and townsfolk grudgingly working together. But it would have worked better just leaving the loaded bantha in the valley, luring the best out, and detonating it. Fewer civilian deaths but what do I know, I wasn't raised in the fighting corps. And god at the end when Din soars out of the monster's mouth! I that was how the episode would end as soon as I saw the explosives. But still so fucking cool! Is there a name for that trope? I call it the Hercules.
Can we talk for a second about how Din looks in this ep? The strides, the poses and posture. He exudes so much bde that it physically hurts me. Clearly a lot of that is Mandalorian in nature, if those images of Boba Fett from the comics tell us anything (Fett sitting spread in his ship and Din doing it on the wagon at Sorgan have p much the same energy). Just looking fine as hell through the whole thing, even covered in deadly dragon stomach acid.
And can we talk about how much he says this episode? He explains the Tuskens' behavior, translates, plans, barters, smooches doggies, etc. He talks a lot. And I think that's interesting. Din has this reputation as being awkward in social situations and quiet. And like, it's one thing feeling shy around the beautiful widow who's hitting on you. But he says what he means clearly and more or less concisely, including some one-liners and sarcasm. I think he could be described as "laconic" (my character does describe him as such in the thing I'm writing), which means they use as few words as possible to get their point across. Din has no hesitation in speaking, he just prefers to only speak when he has something to say, if that makes sense.
So happy to see Aunt Peli! And Din being like "eh let them work" That's what we call growth.
The casting. I nearly lost my shit when Timothy Olyphant was under the helmet, looking like a whole ass meal. Like that is the most flattering haircut and beard combo I've ever seen on him. Don't @me but he could get it. And poor typecast Leguizamo. Still great tho. He was fun little asshole.
I love when this show doubles down on the western themes:
Vanth's name, accent, role, and general appearance all line up with a small town wild west sheriff. Just showing up and saving the town, so they're like, you're the Lone Ranger now! Olyphant has played western roles before, including voicing The Spirit of the West (an avatar of the legends and ideals of the wild west modeled on Clint Eastwood's western characters) in the animated film Rango (a lot of the Mandalorian's aesthetic comes from Eastwood's movies).
The Mandalorian theme but softly strummed on a Spanish (nylon string) guitar is very evocative of a border town.
The tuskens represent an Indian tribe. The abandoned mining town. The mysterious stranger who comes to town and saves it. Vanth and Din nearly have a quickdraw shootout! The child is hiding in a spittoon for chrissakes!
It really echoes the 7 Samurai theme of chapter 4. I know it's an overlapping, repeating theme in western film. I guess I was surprised to see it again so quickly.
I don't know how I feel about Din speaking Tusken. Signing was one thing. But I just giggled uncomfortably the whole time feeling it was kinda silly (and I had assumed the reason he signed was because humans couldn't speak Tusken). Was that our big hero, heartthrob, and favorite actor Mr. Pascal sitting in the studio making those noises? Rrrhehh rheh rrhehh! I dunno I'm just. Reeling.
Isn't interesting that Din would annihilate the entire populace of Jawas without batting an eye, but he would do almost anything to protect the Sand People? I know there's something to that, about marginalized/eugenicized groups versus like colonialism and whatever vulture like construct you would attribute to the Jawas. But I'm not smart enough to articulate it.
Okay, so the obvious: Boba Fett. Really shocked to see his armor on someone else. I'd already seen the casting of Morrison, so I wasn't like, "is he dead?" and I knew right away this hick didn't take it off him. I wonder if the Jawas stunned him and removed it. Either way, there's going to be hell to pay. I can't wait to see Din and Boba interact; I wonder how they'll respond to each other. And even though Fett should be in his early 40s (I think) he really looks like hell. I mean, I know he's seen some shit. But I wonder what's been up with him in the last decade or so.
Some stuff I thought I noticed, but I need y'all to help me confirm:
Was that Anakin's podracer engine?
Was that C-3PO graffitied on the wall in the dirty city?
Were we supposed to recognize R5?
There's a couple others but I forgot em. I gotta watch it again.
Some questions:
What was the spherical thing the Tusken Raiders recovered from the beast's remains? The scene mirrored the Jawas and the mudhorn's TSUGA! Tsuga tsuga! Tsuuuga! But that didn't look like an egg. If I didn't know better I would swear it was a pearl. (which almost makes sense if you take into account that this guy eats dirt for a living and could have an organ or extra stomach in there like those gross hard balls they used to pull out of ox bellies) Or was it mentioned earlier and I didn't catch it? There was a lot going on.
What are the sand doggies? They're so cute! And that totally establishes our mans as a dog person. Writers, start your fics!
I'm a bit confused about the town's history. How have the people survived for so long with the beast there? Was it the Krayt dragon that wiped it literally off the map? How does the slaving mining guild fit in there?
It really looks in chapter 4 that those krill are native (it's not explicitly stated tho). If no one even knows where Sorgan is and it doesn't have a big export economy, how do these people in the middle of buttfuck nowhere have spotchka?
On that note, how did that city gangster hear about Fett/Vanth? I mean, I dig that he's a collector of beskar'gam, but like, that's still way out there.
The jingling spurs sound in chapter 5 is deliberately obvious when that mysterious figure comes upon Fennec Shand. Can we assume that's Cobb Vanth there? Because clearly, Fett has been without his armor for a while. If it was Vanth, what did he do with her? I don't believe for a second that she's dead. He's not a bounty hunter and he wouldn't have any idea she was valuable since the Guild had abandoned Tatooine. Barter for help/transportation /goods/labor /etc? Also, if it was Vanth, did he witness the whole thing? If so, he knows who Din is. Maybe knows Toro. I dunno. Lots of thoughts. Did he just stumble upon her while traveling back to his village? I forgot the name already lol Mos Pelegrino?
Okay it's nearly 4 am. I genuinely can't remember if I had anything else to say. Please continue to tag your spoilers cuz I will again not get to view the episode until after y'all do next week. But until then, please come yell at me about our favorite show and space boyfriend. I like crazy theories too.
Love y'all. 😘😘😘

Seeking Literate Partners!
Disclaimer: Male authors, please stop contacting me. I've been burned too many times. If you persist, I'll ignore your message. Hello, you can call me Doe! I'm 25+ and a proud cat mom. I write multiple paragraphs/novella style (200-500+ words). I love to write detailed descriptions and delve into a character’s head/emotions as well as surroundings. I compare it to writing a novel together. I understand if the scene doesn’t have alot going on and therefore requires less like rapid fire. I adore having long, thoughtful replies where we truly immerse ourselves in the world. I'm hoping to find a partner whose as enthusiastic and passionate about the plot and writing as I am. When I get invested in a story, it’s 100% dedication. Getting a reply is the highlight of my day. I'm a big fan of romance and using face claims. I’m the type to make pinterest boards, spam you with gifs, headcanons, and send you songs that remind me of our characters and/or ship. I'll get excited if we come up with future plot ideas, or if our characters are being cute or angsty and I can yell about it in the chat. Last but not least I only do MxF (with myself in the female role) and don’t double, but I’m more than happy to write side characters of either gender to help move the story along. I'd highly prefer female authors writing male characters. Searching For - 21+ partners - For you to have an excellent grasp of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and capitalization. Both in character and out of character. (Literate to advanced writers only, please. I'm not looking for newbies or those who have English as their second/third language). - Plot before smut. While mature themes will be in my plots, and are even encouraged, there needs to be chemistry between our characters. I like to have a good mix of plot and tastefully written smut, along with doses of angst and fluff. - For you to write as an older man (40s+/50s+). I'm a sucker for the gruff and tough men with dark pasts who secretly have a soft heart. I also love those grumpy, hypermasculine men being intimidated by soft yet commanding women. The youngest I write is early 20s. - Please be enthusiastic and invested when it comes to plotting/worldbuilding. There’s nothing worse than receiving one sentence in reply to two paragraphs of ideas, or having a doormat partner who says “sure” to whatever I ask. Tossing ideas back and forth, watching them snowball into amazing plot threads brings me joy. - Joining me in the wonderful world of ship/character development is kind of a must. It’s one of the things that makes writing with a partner so much fun. I also like to make friends with my partners! - While I'd prefer real life face claims, I'd also be open to using realistic art if you're uncomfortable with real life. I draw the line at anime/cartoon art. Faces I'd love to write as: gal gadot, rooney mara, ruth negga, saoirse ronan, sophie turner, jessica chastain, jennifer morrison, mia wasikowska, natalia dyer, brit marling, deborah ann woll, mackenzie davis, emmy rossum, adria adjora, chyler leigh, hayley bennet, tashi rodriguez, lily james, cara delevingne, maya hawke, katheryn winnick, elizabeth olsen, abigal cowen, sophia lillis lauren cohan, zoey deutsch, paulina singer, crystal reed, hayley lu richardson, ask about others Faces I'd love to write against: jeffery dean morgan, hugh jackman, robert taylor, jr bourne, jon bernthal, jason issacs, anthony varrecchiah, brett tucker, david harbour, frank grillo, iain glen, josh duhamel, patrick petitjean, ethan hawke, christian bale, rory mccann, younger sam elliot, titus welliver, viggo mortensen, joel miller (illustrated face), ask about others If you've made it this far, thank you! You won't be disappointed in writing with me. I tend to be online daily and while I'd like it if you were too, I understand that real life things comes first. Let me know if you're going to be inactive/can’t continue. If you suddenly stop replying ic and ooc, I'll drop the story after 2 attempts of gauging continued interest spaced a week apart. Below are genres and pairings I love. Feel free to combine as many as you'd like and I’m sure we can come up with something great! Current cravings are in bold. Two thing I don't do are slice of life and historical plots. Genres: - crimes in remote locations - spooky small towns - post apocalyptic/dystopia - supernatural/modern fantasy (A/B/O, werewolves, shapeshifters, alpha x rival pack alpha's child, werewolf x shifter, alpha x new werewolf, involuntary mate-bond, mating/claiming) - southern/mid western gothic - murder mystery (small town or big city) - modern/dark fairy tale retellings - sci-fi - cyberpunk/retro-futuristic - little coastal towns or little towns in the mountains - emotionally charged/dark and gritty - superpowers/gifted - unresolved sexual tension/slow burn - redemption - pacific northwest - suburban gothic - luring to the other side - reincarnation/multiple universes - western inspired + modern day (such as longmire) - christmas inspired - culture clash/two characters from different sides Pairings: - age gaps (older man x younger woman / 15 to 25+ year gap) - enemies to lovers/villain x heroine - cop x criminal - doctor x patient - friends turned lovers/pining - grumpy x sunshine - the broken man x the woman that becomes his light - fbi agents/cop partners - dark hearted man melting for the innocent woman - friend x best friend’s older sibling - boss x employee - neighbors - single father x friend - firefighter/cop x victim - mentor x mentee - hurt/comfort - height differences - pet names (sweetheart, baby girl, kid, kiddo) - lady and the tramp esque/class difference - creature x human/creature - ex-con x anyone - bodyguard x assignment - widow/er falling in love again - biker x civilian - rancher/mountain man x city girl - affair (with so's sibling, with so's friend, with neighbor) - hitman x target - serial killer x fbi agent - soul mates - experienced x inexperienced - local x vacationer - injured/scarred warrior washed out from their former glory x royal/heir-to-be (modern day / Sansa x Sandor inspired) - friend x best friend/boyfriend's father - daughter in law x father in law - park ranger x camper - bounty hunter x bounty - power imbalances Tropes/Themes: the papa wolf/hot dads, cultured badass, jerk with a heart of gold. ladykiller in love, mountain man, mysterious protector, southern gentleman, tall, dark, and handsome, knight in sour armor, red string of fate, villain takes an interest, porcelain to ivory to steel, when person a gets injured/kidnapped and person b goes absolutely feral to save them, cowboys tiny women and big men, the monster being treated gently for the first time in his life, two characters forced into positions where they have no choice but to reconcile their differences and grow together/trust each other, forbidden relationships, trying to escape childhood demons & reuniting in adulthood Fandoms: (I don't write canons or do canon x oc) Star Wars, X Files, Haven, Fringe, Stranger Things, Heroes, The Wolf Among Us, Mercy Thompson Series, True Blood, Marvel, The OA, Disney personified, His Dark Materials, Beastars, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, Cyberpunk 2077 Plot Ideas: I have too many to list here but take a look at my google doc and let me know if anything catches your attention.
