that suicide squad game may be bad.... but it sure is giving my man Batman Arkham Videos plenty of stuff to post so I like it

Just played Slay the Princess and got the game’s main end, on my way now to 100% it. I’ve adored this game so, so much, and it was truly just an absolute delight to play through.
Anyway, I love bird man (Us).

Warden: You can choose between several origin stories for me and make decisions that will impact the whole playthrough, depending on the origin story you get to know my family and/or friends and the choices you make will impact my later relationship with them, my personal tragedy is the catalyst for my journey
Hawke: I have only one origin story but my family members are complex and well-written characters, my adventure is very personal and my losses and failures are heart-wrenching moments in the game
Inquisitor: HEY GUYS I JUST WALKED IN HERE WHAT'S UP

“That doesn’t really answer either of those questions,” Dark points out, tentatively sitting down next to his weird wild friend. He folds his legs under himself, safely not hanging over the abyss.
Something for the latest chapter of A Dark Among the Lights by LuckyLectio on AO3! Dark finally gets a well deserved break, visits a new old friend, and tries to get spoilers for the ending of the fic.
Oh, and here's a link to the post where I tried to find an island in totk that could fit the one described in the fic.

By Nyx Core, you can't summon a Persona.
In game, the option isn't available, and Great Seal is cast without one.
In the movies, Messiah dissolves when Makoto gets close.
In the Weird Masquerade, Shiomi attempts to summon their Persona, and fails.

I was rewatching s2 last night, and ohhh man mk looks over mei so much it's not even funny. times mei has been ignored:
maybe you need to really listen! (during the blindfold ep)
mk just? grabs stuff she's using out of her hands all the time? (video game ep)
maybe you shouldn't skip the tutorials? (video game ep again)
the way he addresses her in dumpling destruction and then immediately pushes her aside for tang
i honestly remember it lowkey kinda bothering me on first watch but now it's REALLY egregious on rewatch. are you scared? I'm so scared. do you WANT to end up like shadowpeach MK
2x03 is so rude because the whole fucking episode they're like "MK you don't listen" and it's so true. He doesn't. Pigsy literally points it out again at the end of 4x14 with the whole sun screen bit:
Pigsy: "Tch, don't bother, I've been telling him that for years but he LITERALLY never listens."
Sun Wukong: "Yep! That's how we role."
-
THEY'RE SO FUCKING RUDE. "That's how we role." We. We????? Wukong and MK???? Like WHATEVER. FINE. (("I told you going against the Jade Emperor was a bad idea, but no. Wukong doesn't listen to ANYONE! He just does whatever he wants" Like shut up. Shut up!))
MK gets so stuck in his own head ("You're all stuck up in your own head! None of this is your fault!" +1 to the MK ignoring Mei counter from 4x08) and I think that really contributes to his s2 scramble to get more powerful.
LIKE:
MK: "Stop? Now? Never! I just have to try harder. It's just like the Monkey King said! *laughs manically* I just need to get stronger!"
(2x06 Game On)
VS
MK: "Why didn't he just stop, right here? He was already so much stronger than anyone ever needed to be!"
Macaque: "Wukong didn't think so, he always felt he had to be stronger—more immortal."
(4x11 A Lifetime of Mistakes)
-
(Bonus thing between eps 2x03 and 2x06, look at 0:42 in this video for MK hearing Mei but not listening to her. Because of course that's what he would do. *head in my hands .png*)
The terrible s2 choices both Wukong and MK make in relation to their friends is just absolutely delicious after 4x11. Like, OH. This has been a lifelong pattern of Wukong's—paranoia is one of his fatal flaws (paired with his terrible communication and self-sacrificial nature), and while he had the power to stop LBD before he still feel's the need to go after the Samadhi Fire to stop her now, and to protect MK.
Hold on look at this parallel that I don't know what to do with:
MK: "Ugh, I can't do it!"
Mei: "It's alright MK—you did it before, you'll do it again!"
Sandy: "Yeah! Maybe it's like Monkey King said: the power will come when you need it most!"
(3x04 The Winning Side)
-
MK: "What! But you said the Samadhi fire was the only thing that could stop her!"
Sun Wukong: "I KNOW WHAT I SAID! But I've beaten her before I'll- I'll do it again! Mei was right—I need to stop dragging you into my fights, all of you."
(3x10 The Samadhi Fire)
-
Wukong and MK's reach for power inspires a lot of fear in me! It does! Because, well, MK's current reach for power is going to lead him to his Monkey Form, and uh:
Like I'm scared. I'm scared!
"All doomed to play a role in tearing this world apart!" ; "This is Azure's utopia, and this barren wasteland is the price he paid to build it." ; "I'd do anything for my friends! But at the cost of the world?" "I'm sorry pal, ain't NOTHIN' worth that price!"

So speaking about Dyvim Whitehart does anybody remember that one time in Khrysalis some dude in the desert likens us to Morganthe because we both knew Shadow Magic and Dyvim IMMEDIATELY loses his fuckin shit and butts in the conversation to defend us
That was such an emotional moment because think about it, literally almost EVERYONE ELSE has given us shit for learning and using Shadow. THE BITCH THAT TAUGHT US ORIGINALLY WAS LIKE "be careful you don't end up like Morganthe" YEAH NO SHIT BERNICE or whatever your name is. MERLE AMBROSE HIM FUCKEN SELF had the SHEER AUDACITY TO MAKE SOME PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, "we'll be keeping an eye on you, be sure that you don't turn to darkness like Morganthe did" like he isn't like 80% of the reason why Morganthe was the way that she was and that it's HIS fault that WE were even there in Khrysalis to learn shadow magic IN THE FIRST PLACE
But then there's Dyvim, who's like, actually seen war. He's fought and killed and has been injured, his family and friends have fought and killed and have BEEN killed, for DECADES. Like literally several generations of Dyvim and his entire people being enslaved and executed and terrorized all at the hands of Morganthe herself, but Dyvim still recognizes our true character and DOESNT FOR A MOMENT DOUBT US EVER!!!!! Even when it's established that we're following in the footsteps of Morganthe in order to defeat her, Dyvim offers his 1000% support and never once suspects us of turning evil because he just really had that much of a strong bond of trust and love with us that he KNEW no bad shit would go down
Like even when we arrived at That Place where Morganthe learned all her dark secrets Dyvim only said "You got this bro :) I believe in you, I'll see you when you get back" and he was like the only character to still show his love and support throughout the suspense!!!!! Him and us against the entire world, and it means so much that Dyvim could maintain that attitude of trust and closeness despite all that he's lost and suffered at the hands of someone with Shadow Magic. Dyvim Whitehart is a metal bitch and I will love him for-fuckin-ever, thanks for coming to my tedtalk

IMO Hero would be more interesting as a character if that wasn't the case.
What if he did try to have a relationship after Mari? Maybe in the first year of medical school. After all, the game repeatedly emphasizes his (ostensible) charm and good looks lmao
What if the girl he tried to hook up with also had an artistic bent but, as soon as they began getting really close, the relationship dissolved because, well, she just wasn't Mari? Then he’d beat himself up over it after realizing he treated her less like a person and more like a way to fill the hole Mari’s suicide left in him, which in turn would lead him to close himself off from everyone else :)

Say, if you're still open to requests, could I see how you picture Paranoid and Hero in the "Heart. Lungs. Liver. Nerves." segment?
I usually imagine them either holding Quiet’s hand or clutching to their side. Simple, but affectionate and comforting.

Grace FUMBLED Ryan! BAD parenting to preach respect and then act contrarily (ie saying she wants him to feel safe, then not allowing him any autonomy). She should've let him leave and come back... or at least explained why she didn't want him to leave before deciding (ex: 'Homelander will kidnap you', etc). She needed to let him make the decision for himself... agh. AAAAA.
And now Butcher's no use because he's committed to being evil and can't offer ANYTHING good to Ryan!!! He was so right, they NEEDED to give Ryan more space... I know the external pressures seemed impossible, but dammit, Grace, this was no way to beat the odds!
(this is about The Boys season four)

Inspired and based on this song:
We are the prophets
With the answers you seek
Time with the past, and the future we see
There is a way, where you must confront it
But there is one problem we saw..
What?
I see a world risking your life
I see your heart bursting in pain
I see your friend with their inflicting pain, and shadows lurking her
I hear a song of the remorse
I hear a desperation scream
We see a boy who has moved on in his own life..
But you're no longer you...
