ch. 10 ⤍ it’s happening!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you and yunjin greeted each other like you've known each other for years making the others confused, leading you to explain. "we were supposed to meet a really long time ago but it never worked out. it finally happened"
"so you know yunjin but you didn't know me.." kazuha said to you sadly.
yunjin smugly smirked at kazuha, "your girl likes me"
kazuha playfully glared at yunjin as you turned to the youngest person on the team who had been waiting to speak to you.
"y/n y/n! i'm a big fan" eunchae excitedly greeted you, "i watch all of your content!"
you smiled at the younger girl, "i'm glad to hear that"
"i always told chaewon and sakura to introduce us but they never did" eunchae told you.
"there was a reason for that" chaewon mumbled under her breath.
you turned to look at chaewon confused, "why? what's wrong with us meeting"
"you're both absolute menaces" chaewon replied like it was obvious.
"it would have been too much to handle if we introduced you two" sakura added shaking her head at the thought.
"they're just overdramatic" you said to eunchae who agreed.
afterward, you turned back to kazuha to ask what the plan for the beginning of filming was before getting cut off by chaewon.
"i mean we're here too but give everyone but your long-term friends a greeting" chaewon said.
"y/n meets new people and just changes up on us" sakura added.
"i saw you two last week no big deal" you waved off sakura and chaewon who both gasped in response.
"you saw kazuha last week too"
"there's a difference, i've known kazuha for a week. i've known you two for years"
"you changed up so fast" chaewon shook her head in disappointment.
"i'm just kidding i missed y'all too" you went to hug chaewon and sakura. chaewon avoided it at first but eventually let up, hugging you back.
after the greetings were over you now had to choose who would team up with who.
"we should let zuha and y/n be on the same team. this is for them anyways" sakura said.
"who do we want?" kazuha asked you, but you just shrugged since you didn't really know anything about the rest of the members besides chaewon and sakura.
"i can't choose between them" she said.
"manchae?" you asked.
"how do you know that?" she asked shocked, "i thought you didn't know us"
"i saw a clip with her and sakura one time"
"y/n you're really breaking my heart right now" kazuha held her hand over her heart.
you quickly hugged her, "but you're the only one i called pretty, i confessed my love to you for a reason, future lover"
kazuha blushed and the cameras zoomed in on you two.
"what is this?" chaewon and yunjin made disgusted faces at the camera, while sakura covered eunchae's eyes.
"hey couple! we're filming a video right now, save this for later!" yunjin yelled at the both of you.
you and kazuha pushed apart finally remembering the others.
"so manchae?" kazuha confirmed with you.
you nodded your head.
"we'll do a back hug to choose your teammate"
you winked at yunjin on your way over making her think you chose her.
"i think i know" yunjin smirked once you all got into position with you and kazuha standing behind them in a row.
"do we just do it?" you asked the camera crew who nodded at you.
"hmm? who should we choose" you said wanting to be dramatic.
"you already know who you're choosing" chaewon exclaimed. you both went to backhug eunchae who cheered in response.
the camera zoomed in on yunjin who had the most betrayed look on her face.
"y/n...!" yunjin yelled at you.
"sorry, i did think about choosing you though" you told the girl.
"it's fine we just win against them" yunjin huffed as she went to chaewon and sakura.
now it was time for the game to get started. you and eunchae were the first two to go in while kazuha stood watch at your base.
"i'll bait them. just stay hidden while i get them and only show yourself if i get hit" you told eunchae who nodded in response.
while you were sitting on guard you heard someone heading towards you. you peeked around the corner to see who it was, noticing it was chaewon you set your gun up ready to shoot. once chaewon turned the corner you pulled your trigger, getting her out immediately.
"you're still a fucking sweat" chaewon cursed at you.
"i'm just tryna win" you shrugged as you backed away. once chaewon went to revive you proceeded forward hoping to get another one.
"kkura is approaching you" you heard through the walkie-talkie. you tried to back away for cover but was hit.
eunchae took that as a signal to catch sakura off guard popping out from her hiding spot to hit sakura.
"where did you even come from?" sakura asked.
eunchae shrugged in response not revealing anything.
the game went on with the kills going back and forth.
you were slowly making your way through the area looking out for sakura who apparently could not stop killing you.
you saw a different colored vest and they had their gun pointing directly at you. you let out a sigh of relief when you realized it was yunjin.
"wait yunjin, i'll help you out if you help me" you stopped her from shooting you.
"i'm listening" she put her gun down slowly.
"kazuha and eunchae are planning to rush in and catch y'all off guard" you told her.
"kkura and chaewon are just trying to pick y'all off one by one" yunjin told you.
"so we shouldn't be moving alone" you said to yourself.
"when are zuha and eunchae attacking us?" yujin asked you.
"now that might be asking too much, you're basically asking me to turn on my team" you chuckled.
"i literally told you our game plan. you can tell me one strategy so i can at least get more than 1 kill" yunjin said.
"fair. just catch them off guard first so they won't expect it" you told her as she nodded.
"you better not tell them about this" yunjin held her gun up to you in a threatening way but didn't pull the trigger.
"you better not either" you said in response holding your hands up.
"i won't if you don't" yunjin put her gun back down.
"you can trust me" you reassured yunjin before parting ways.
"i hope she doesn't betray me" yunjin whispered into her mic and then the camera cut to you.
"yunjin's heading towards our base" you quietly told your team through the walkie-talkie once yunjin was out of sight.
"i'm not technically betraying yunjin since i didn't tell my team about the actual plan. i'm just making sure they're not too caught off guard" you defended yourself to the camera that was following you around.
while you were walking around you had run into both sakura and chaewon killing them both separately before hearing news from your team.
"yunjin got me and eunchae" you heard kazuha tell you through the walkie-talkie.
"both? really" you asked shocked.
"i know you said she was coming but she really came out of nowhere" eunchae said.
"ahh damn. well, i got kkura and chaewon so it should we're tied" you put your walkie-talkie back away to talk to the camera.
"most successful betrayal i've ever done" you told the camera smiling.
"has anyone seen sakura yet?" you met back up with your team at the base.
"last time i saw her she was base area. she's the type to push forward though" kazuha said.
"i think we should target sakura" eunchae suggested.
"agree she's their carry. once she's out we sweep them" you agreed.
that was how you decided to walk around as a group with sakura as the main target, whoever saw her first would tell the rest of the team and we would all shoot at her. it was pretty successful since she was always alone but once she caught on to what you were all doing she now only always had backup.
later on, you were alone walking in the other team's base area when all of a sudden you heard a bunch of footsteps coming towards you causing you to duck for cover.
"y'all i think i'm cornered" you spoke quietly into your walkie-talkie.
"do you need backup?" eunchae asked.
"no you should stay. they only know the general area i'm in" you said.
"just try and back out. we'll help if all of them show up" eunchae told you.
you put your walkie-talkie back on the belt and wall-hugged the walls that lead you back to your base. not hearing any more sounds you tried to take off but were caught off guard by yunjin showing up and killing you. you fell onto the ground dramatically.
"can't believe you did this. i thought we were friends" you joked putting your hand over your heart.
"you should've picked me to be on your team then" yunjin said before going away.
you were about to stand up and revive but kazuha came from behind a wall, running up to you. "no y/n you can't die on me. we haven't even gone on our first date yet" kazuha started a skit.
"you're gonna have to go on without me" you played along.
"no! we can't do this without you" kazuha moved her hands to cover where you were 'shot' at.
"just leave me behind; i'll only slow us down"
"we really could all make it together" eunchae cut into the conversation.
"take care of my children, but don't let rei touch my will" you let out your final words.
"nooo y/n" kazuha fake cries dramatically.
"bruh just go revive" eunchae told you seeming uninterested as possible. you laid there for a couple of seconds still playing the part.
"okay! let's beat them" you quickly stood up heading to the revive station.
once you revived you started a group huddle for the last play, "get as many kills in the next two minutes as possible"
it was supposed to be strategic, but as you approached their base you decided to just make it fun.
"fuck it we ball" you told kazuha who nodded in agreement.
you and kazuha went in rapidly firing as a distraction for eunchae who was quietly making her way behind the other team.
chaewon was in cover aiming at you ready to shoot when her lights started flashing signaling she was hit. she turned around in shock seeing eunchae behind her.
"what is this? y'all are too elaborate!" chaewon exclaimed.
chaewon walked away telling her team about your positions but she was too late as kazuha got yunjin who just happened to walk into the crossfire.
since the rest of the other team was reviving you three took the opportunity to ambush sakura who was alone. it took the three a while to find her, but kazuha successfully killed sakura at the last second right before the timer went off signaling the game was over. you and eunchae ran off quickly ran off to see the score.
SSAMKKURAJIN - 17
YNEUNHAZ - 28
"WE WON!" eunchae shouted when she made it there first.
you, kazuha, and eunchae jumped up and down as the other team watched in both amusement and disbelief.
"i thought we were in the lead. i was killing all of them" sakura said in shock.
"and you make up 10 of those kills" eunchae said as she pointed to the screen that showed the number of kills each person had.
"what were y'all doing?" sakura asked her team making both chaewon and yunjin look away finding everything else in the building interesting.
"you beat me by 1 y/n" eunchae said in disbelief as she pointed at the screen. you had 11 kills while eunchae had 10.
"i'm just better" you bragged.
"i knew it was over once eunchae and y/n were on the same team" chaewon said.
"if i'm being honest sakura was my only competition" eunchae said.
"same she's like the only person that killed me" you agreed.
"okay i remember getting you once" yunjin cut in.
"once to my 7 kills on you" you retorted.
"shut up y/n"
all of you were standing to do the outro when yunjin mumbled, "i feel like this was a very unbalanced game"
"balanced rematch part two?" you asked looking around at the team.
"how many likes for it?" kazuha asked as she wrapped one of her arms around your shoulder pulling you towards her.
"100K?" you turned to look at the rest of the group to see if they agreed.
"this was fun i'm down to do it again" sakura agreed with you.
"i wanna be on y/n's team next time" yunjin said going closer to the camera, "so y'all better get this to 100K"
the rest of the group agreed and started doing the outro for real this time.
you wrapped an arm around kazuha's waist leaning even more into her. you two ended the video practically all over each other knowing it would make people freak out over the interaction.

starting with the self-ship questions! first of all, how did you and your beloved meet? was it love at first sight or did some time have to go by? c:
allie~ i never do self-ship stuff on this blog and i should, i deserve it. we all deserve to indulge in self-shipping
mikasa and i are the epitome of friends to lovers. i don’t see her being the type to just get into relationships or start dating on the fly, she likes to know a person first. we meet through a mutual friend, probably armin, who says he thinks we’d get along and we exchange contact info to be nice. it’s kinda awkward at first since she isn’t the most talkative person and i am and if i think someone isn’t into a conversation i’ll drop it because i don’t wanna force it if someone ain’t feeling like talking. but i make a joke after seeing an exchange between armin and some poor soul triggering his sassy scorpio ass about how “we really can’t judge a book by its cover, armin be putting people in body bags i swear” and she laughs and starts telling me stories from their high school days where his pettiness really unlocked
friendship comes naturally from that with us talking quite frequently through text and we’ll end up planning to go to bookstores together and so on and so forth. i ask her out and because i don’t do ‘dinner dates’ for a first date, i ask how she feels about a couple’s cooking class for a date. the rest is history
mitsuya my beloved who i met by virtue of me seeing him looking fine as hell across the way. i fell first, he fell harder definitely because his voice sounds like liquid gold to me and he is such a pretty boy. i volunteered as tribute to be a model for one of his projects even though i hate that type of thing but it was just the excuse i needed to hang out and segue into some sort of friendship because i’ll be damned if we ain’t at least friends. when i need a break from the tired college life and he needs a break from work or being the best brother in the world, we hang out
he beats me to asking him on a date and i get strangely competitive after he asks by mentioning i wanted to ask him on one first and i insist we play rock paper scissors to see who gets to ask who first. he wins because he cheated by kissing me. i’ll get back his ass eventually but i enjoyed the kiss while we were having it
chigiri is another one that takes a while after meeting. in my mind, we both went to go see a movie and we were the only ones in the theatre and the movie was so bad we started complaining and those complaints started bouncing off each other as jokes and we decided to sit next to each other and complain about the movie proper. it takes a while for us to get together though because... i don’t take Ls that are preventable. i don’t confess to anyone that i don’t think there’s a good 50/50 to 60/40 chance they like me back. vulnerability? nope.
i confess first and got rejected but we remain friends but in an effort to maintain the friendship i try too hard to deny any signs of his feelings towards me changing towards the romantic. reject me once, that’s cool and completely valid. reject me twice because i possibly saw too deep into your feelings? absolutely not and that is an L i undoubtedly deserve. anything he does is twisted into being platonic if i try hard enough. chigiri says he appreciates me on a deep level? cool i just went from friend status to bestie status. bro got me flowers? he got me sunflowers, that’s pretty platonic to give a friend. he asked me to tutor him on a subject he already knows well? bruh that ain’t an excuse to spend time with me, he just wants to make sure he fully understands the subject!!
with nagi i think it was more like, clumsy encounter meet cute. like, you already know how clumsy i am TAT i remember complaining to you one day last year about how i dropped my christmas presents two times in a row and then proceeded to fall in the kitchen trying to dance. literally there is no way my first encounter with nagi isn’t based in clumsiness
like, maybe i knocked over his phone and panicked and insisted i’d pay to fix the screen. he says it’s cool but i insist we meet again to talk at the cafe on campus and figure out a venmo situation in a couple hours after a class. fast forward to then he tells me it was just the screen protector that just broke and he already has a spare. then he says something like “but if you really feel bad and have some weird honor system, if you play genshin just help me grind in co-op. i’m grinding for dehya” and we go from co-op buddies to occasionally hanging out in person buddies to now i’m wearing his hoodie and he’s wearing my bonnet because he likes how it just falls over his face like an eye mask and then we start hooking up and nagi randomly asks one night “this is an exclusive thing between us right?” “yeah” “cool, good night zzz” “zzz”

Yeah international rules are different, mainly because the rules keep changing and I don’t think everyone keeps up. It probably also has to do with the coaches and their preference (at least I hope they get a say in some of the rules).
One of the things that changes every year is the block feature. Sometimes it’s there, sometimes it isn’t. They keep tweaking it. This year it was a ‘you can block right up until, the singer names a coach’ which is absolutely brutal. We have this one guy who has the prospects to win this thing, and all 4 coaches turned for him, and right before picking he was very clearly looking at this one coach and someone else block the man. So now he’s in a different team! Idk, I’ve never liked the block feature because it’s kinda unfair towards the candidates, but this is extra mean.
Anyway, our blinds are actually split into eps twice a week (Friday and Sunday) since like 2-3 years ago! Both are 3 segments with 2 breaks. I think the cap changed again. Last year they could pick 15 people. Those then went to the knockouts 1 vs. 1 vs. 1. Team goes down to 5, coaches are allowed to steal 1 person. They go into the battles with a 6 person team, 3 battles each. Then to the live shows.
This year the cap went back to the original 12, but there’s no actual cap. It’s more a you can take as many people as you want, but you need at least 12. Each coach gets 6 battles (these are just one long segment of 8 battles an episode on Friday, but 3 breaks). I think the teams were 13, 14, 15, 16. So every coach did go over. The bigger teams all did an in between round where they made a few people all cover the same song or bring their own pick to narrow it down. The 13 people team just had a 3 person battle.
Now they have this new thing called the Cross Battles. Essentially, each coach has 6 people. All of them prepared their own song. All the coaches have heard these people sing a bunch of different songs because they did an extra boot camp. 1 coaches challenges another with one of their singers. That coach picks a candidate to match. They both sing their song and a jury containing different musicians and a margin of regular people + the 2 coaches who didn’t battle vote for a winner.
Side note: I don’t know what to think about this concept. Like the idea is fun, the execution is kinda a work in process. Aforementioned coach who got blocked (one of my favourite coaches) went into it with a really strong team and came out with 2 mid singers, same happened with another coach, meanwhile there’s a team of 5 going through. So I kinda feel like they got cheated, because often they battle a strong singer with a string singer and good people end up going home while the mid tiers stay (if that makes sense).
Also, do you guys have a comeback stage? Where people who don’t go through can get picked up by a 5th coach and still make it to the lives? It’s sorta of a behind the scenes competition. Like they don’t broadcast it, but you can watch it online. I feel like they made the Cross Battles to push out good people who were then picked up by the Comeback Stage, so now it’s suddenly one of the strongest teams in the Live Shows, but at the cost of another team (quite literally pick up the 2 best singers from one of the teams and it leaves such a sour taste in my mouth).
And in the lives there’s this, each team picks one, then 5/10 other candidates are voted through. And again, you can kinda feel the unfairness, because the 2 people teams did not have anyone else voted through, meanwhile that comeback stage team still has 3 people. I’m just kind of sour about 2/5 teams basically already being out of the race. (Also, I’m biased as hell against the 3 people team coaches. Can you tell? My 2 least favourite coaches have the strongest teams now :/).
Anyway, I hope this explanation is clear cuz it’s kinda all over the place.

OOOHH WOW THAT'S MUCH MORE COMPLICATED THAN OUR VOICE HELPDKFK
We have the blinds (this year there was a block!! You'd use the block button as ur turn button, so you'd have to block someone before they turned) and then battles (this was where you had the playoff pass) and then knockouts (last year it was three ppl against each other, this year it's just been two ppl. And normally you have a save but this year you only have one steal). And that's all Ive watched so far!!
Last season they were actually given extra saves DURING the shows premiering bc of how amazing everyone was 😭😭 so they were allowed to bring back one person that was previously sent home and send them to playoffs
Sighs... I miss last season already HELP
But yeah:( that sounds really frustrating honestly

———————————————————————————
Sunlight streams from a window into Cedric’s eyes, slowly waking him from his slumber to throw a stabbing headache at him, a consequence for his activities the previous night. Sitting up and glancing around the room that was not his, the blue and gold accents decorating the four posters made it obvious which dorm he was in, and glancing down at the mess of black hair beside him, who’s was it?
“Fuck, not again.” Cedric murmurs, standing and tugging on his trousers and buttoning up his shirt, walking out the doors as the girl in the bed begins to stir.
After winning the Triwizard tournament Cedric had become almost a celebrity in the wizard world. He was handsome, smart, and now a champion of the deadliest competitions in the world. He gave Gilderoy Lockhart a run for his money at Witch Weekly’s Most Charming smile. The fame was everything he wanted and more, and with the girls practically throwing themselves at him, it wasn’t long before he became a notorious play-boy too, rumoured to give the best anyone ever had, before disappearing the next morning.
Sitting down at the hufflepuff table, next to his mates, Cedric reaches across the table and grabs an apple from a basket in the centre of the table and takes a bite, nibbling slowly as a headache pounds through his head.
“Hello there Diggory.” A voice laughs, dropping down beside the hufflepuff. Cedric turns his head to see Zacharius staring at him with an eyebrow cocked.
“Y-Yeah, what’s up Smith?” Cedric sighs, turning his head and massaging his forehead.
“Oh don’t tell me you were drinking again cap’n!” Zacharius groans, taking a swig of milk from his cup. “Doesn’t matter.” Cedric shrugs, shaking his head.
“We’ve got a game today!” The blonde exclaims, poking Cedric in the head.
“And we’ve got it! I’m only a little hungover.” Cedric smirks, pushing Zach back with his elbow.
Zach rolls his eyes and pulls his wand out of his pocket, “this should clear your head a bit.” He states, tapping the tip to Cedric’s forehead and muttering a soft spell.
Cedric smirks, instantly feeling the cool feeling of the drink’s impact being brushed away.
“Thanks mate.” He sighs.
“No problem Ced, now let’s get down to the pitch captain, we’ve got a match to win yeah?” Zach laughs, grabbing a slice of toast.
“Yeah, let’s go.” Cedric grins, standing and walking out of the cafeteria with Smith beside him.
“Wake up sleeping beauty!” The giggle and squeal of your new roommate wakes you, followed by a pillow to your face.
“Ah- Brinley!” You groan, sitting up immediately, and grabbing the pillow before she tries to throw it again. “Today’s tour day and then a surprise!” Brinley laughs in a song-like voice.
“W-What time is it?” You sigh, bringing your hand to your eyes and rubbing away the sleepiness.
“Doesn’t matter, it’s the weekend and Hogwarts is huge!” Brinley smiles, falling onto her own four-poster and closing her curtains.
“Get changed y/n, then the tour will commence!” She declares like a quidditch commentator.
“I got it, I got it.” You call out, throwing your covers off of you and quickly getting changed, eyes still barely opened as you pull a sweater over your body and call out to Brinley.
“Brin ‘m ready.” You sigh, standing up from your mattress and tucking your wand into your pocket.
“Finally, c’mon!” The brunette cheers, throwing back her curtains and grabbing your hand to lead you out of the dorm and out the common room.
You spent the rest of the day running from class to class, from courtyard to ‘special corridors.’ Seriously, where did this girl get all her energy from?
“Oh and there are some house ghosts! Oh- over here is the Charms classroom!” Brinley continues, tugging harder on your arm and stopping abruptly.
“Brinley what the-”
You’re cut off by Brinley’s sigh of content and legs practically melting beneath her.
“Look.” She smiles in an almost dream-like voice.
Your eyebrows furrow but you follow your gaze over to a group of boys in yellow robes, laughing and shoving each other about, you note the design as quidditch uniforms, they must be a team. You glance back over at the awe-struck girl to see her smirking with her finger in her lip.
“Cedric Diggory, tall brunette with the perfect smile.” Brinley giggles, nodding at the boy in the centre. “Playboy, school golden boy, Hogwarts champion…” She sighs, leaning against you.
“He’s absolutely stunning. There’s a rumor he can get a girl’s knickers off minutes after he pulls them away.” She breathes with glee, undressing the brunette with her eyes. You smirk at her and find your gaze following the hufflepuff’s frame.
Your eyes trail up with chest, taking in his toned shoulders and strong arms before admiring his long digits underneath his tight fitting gloves, how they flex and stretch as he walks.
Finally your eyes fixate on his face. Piercing grey eyes that seemed to stay serious even while he was smiling, the colour of storm clouds over a forest, calm but strong.
Moving downwards you trace down his defined jawline and cheekbones, sure to have anyone crawling on their knees for him. Soft pink lips almost gave the illusion he was innocent, but as soon as they pulled up to reveal a smirk, you could tell he was experienced, daring, the kind of person up for any kind of challenge, even if it meant jumping in harm’s way.
It was a face everyone in the wizarding world grew to know, the handsome hufflepuff that had not only survived, but won the triwizard tournament, he’d managed to get the entire world swooning for him.
“Hey there captain, where are you heading?” Brinley calls to Cedric once he’s close enough to hear.
“Back to the common room, can I help you sunshine?” Cedric murmurs, stopping for a moment.
“I’d like you to meet my new friend, Ceddy, this is y/n.” Brinley smiles, taking your hand and pushing you forwards.
“Well hello there y/n, say that’s a pretty name.” Cedric smirks, reaching out and taking your hand.
“O-Oh, thank you.” You smile, shaking his hand gently as he raises your fingers to his lips to press a kiss to them.
“What do you say we get away?”
“We just met Diggory, don't get cocky.” You laugh, watching his smirk grow.
“Oh, so the kitten has claws?” Cedric teases at your sudden change in tone.
You blush, and Cedric chuckles softly. “No worries, nice to meet you kitten.” Cedric nods, walking off with the rest of his team.
You’re frozen for a moment, feeling the heat grow in your face and in between your legs, did that really just happen? You blink, turning back to Brinley who has a huge grin on her lips.
“Oh I can see this…” She murmurs, glancing back and forth at you and the hufflepuff.
“Didn’t you just say you like him?” You laugh, raising an eyebrow at her.
“I said he’s hot, not that I like him, there’s a difference, kitten.” She smirks smugly, putting emphasis on your new nickname.
“Haha sunshine, any chance we could go get something to eat? I’m starved.”
“Why would you need something to eat when there’s a full course meal right ahead?” She jokes, winking at you with a playful smirk.
You roll your eyes and she slaps you gently on the shoulder.
“Hey! I’m teasing, come on it’s almost lunch anyways.” Brinley giggles, grabbing your arm once again. “After lunch I’ll show you the pitch, I have a feeling you’ll love your surprise.”
Lunch is quick and uneventful, you manage to sit down long enough to grab a sandwich, but as Brinley glances around at a clock her eyes widen and she takes your hand.
“On second thought lunch can wait, your surprise starts in ten minutes and we need to get good seats!” She laughs apologetically, placing a sandwich into her mouth as she pulls you away, luckily with yours still in hand.
“Let me guess, the surprise is a quidditch game?” You question, catching up to Brinely and walking by her side.
“You got me, just thought it would be nice for your first day.” She shrugs, walking out the door of the castle and starting across a grassy field.
“Sounds fun, who’s playing?” You ask.
“Hufflepuff, obviously, and Ravenclaw, bound to be an exciting one.” Brinley squeals, swinging her arms back and forth. “Oh?” You add.
“Ever since Cedric and Cho broke up their games have been pretty interesting.” She elaborates with an awkward smile. “Some people say they still sleep together, but everyone knows it’s because they both get hot and bothered when they’re drunk in the same room.” Brinley hints, raising both of her eyebrows.
“They sound… serious?” You joke half-heartedly as the brunette beside you breaks into a fit of laughter. “Both of them have made it crystal clear they do not want to be together, both of ‘em seem to be impossible to tie down.” Brinley giggles, catching her breath to calm herself before the two of you get to the stadium. “Exciting.” You shrug, beginning to climb a flight of stairs up to the seating area with Brinley close behind you.
“Oh that’s Hogwarts for you.” She sighs playfully, pushing you further up and forwards to find a seat.
“Now, I want a nice fair game, all of you!” Madame Hooch calls to the two teams facing off at the centre of the pitch, every player nods to the referee and she throws the quaffle up into the air, signalling the beginning of the game.
“Here it goes.” Brinley smiles excitedly, practically bouncing in her seat.
You watch in awe as the chasers fly skillfully across the pitch, passing the quaffle with speed and perfect aim, only for it to be cut short by another player who then goes zooming in the other direction. The quaffle is in possession of hufflepuff, then is stolen by ravenclaw but taken back again. Every moment is filled with suspense and when Ravenclaw scores the first goal the section of the stadium filled with blue goes wild. Up above the beater’s are hitting bludgers back and forth, defending their teammates before sending it off to the other side again. Their movements are smooth and strong, hitting every swing on the dot. The keeper’s are positioned defencefully at each end of the stadium, using tactics to save the quaffle you had never seen before. They maneuvered themselves back and forth quickly and forcefully, even taking quaffles right in the stomach to stop them. You winced more than once trying to watch the Keeper’s save each goal.
Finally, up above were the seeker’s flying up, down and around the pitch in full alert for the snitch, both Cedric and Cho had their goggles pulled down over their eyes and their heads snapping back and forth every second. You could see the competitive nature in Cho with her teeth gritting everytime Cedric dove a little too quickly or turned to try and trick her. If Cedric was having fun with this he wasn’t showing it. His lips remained sealed in a tight line and by the looks of it his jaw was clenched, both of the seeker’s hair were blowing behind them even though there was almost no wind, almost blurs compared to the other player’s a little ways below. A yellow blur here and a blue blur there was all you could see, then they would stop, scan for a moment and wait. You nibbled on your bottom lip as the scores began to grow, each team displayed new tactics the other didn’t know and soon Ravenclaw was leading 170-130. Even the golden snitch wouldn’t be enough to help them win, and you could tell there was some slight hesitation on Cedric’s face as he kept scanning.
As if he knew you were staring, Cedric’s head moved for a moment, glancing down over in the direction you were sitting in and among the sea of people, he found you. Neither you or Brinley were wearing any house colours other than the colours blue and yellow painted across both of your cheeks, guess you couldn’t make a decision, he chuckles, flying a little closer to the booth you’re sitting in, and in a teasing manner he removes the outer jacket of his quidditch uniform and drops in down, right onto your lap.
“Hold onto that for me won’t you kitten? It’s getting rather hot.” He shouts, pushing back his slightly matted brown hair and throwing a wink your way. He watches you nod bashfully, before chuckling and turning back to the game. Teasing you was so fun, how could he resist.
Turning back for a moment he catches Brinley nudging you gently with her elbow and your eyes roll as your cheeks go a light shade of pink.
He grins, but then sees it, the score has changed in his favour and as his smirk rises, he dives.
Your eyes widen as you watch Cedric plummet towards the ground. Did he spot it? Did he see the golden snitch? Cho seems to notice this too and begins plummeting down in Cedric’s direction from the other side of the stadium. You lean over the edge of the railing with Cedric’s uniform still in your arms, eyes zipping about trying to find the familiar flash of gold when, out of nowhere, Cedric looks up, and pulls the front of his broom forwards and skywards again. A loud uproar erupts from the crowd at the stunt Cedric manages to pull, leaving Cho gritting her teeth harder and stopping for a moment right at the ground before pulling up again.
Up above where Cedric was heading, you saw it. The golden snitch flutters above the stadium moving from left to right, up and down. You look over at the scoreboard and your mouth drops. 170-150, Cedric had spotted the snitch at the perfect time right as he had distracted Cho into thinking he was diving for it. You’re sitting on the edge of your seat as the chase begins. By now the sky was already changing colours, the bright azure had faded into a mix of baby blue and pink, creating a very serene backdrop for such a heart-racing chase. The snitch was as mischievous as ever, dropping down, moving to the side, up and then running away with Cedric right behind, his fingers just grazing the back of the shining snitch before losing touch again.
Cho was beginning to catch up and her gritting teeth changed into a smirk as she began to tail Cedric. Her arm raises and she begins to push herself further, almost neck and neck with the hufflepuff when the snitch jumps up suddenly, pausing for a moment as if to watch the two seekers practically leave it behind.
To it’s dismay however, a hand wraps around it at the last moment and grips it tight. The whistle is blown and every stand erupts in cheer.
Cedric sat on his broom, panting and throwing his fist, containing the snitch up into the air over and over again. A huge grin is plastered on his face as he cheers in victory and his team swarms him and starts patting each other on the back. The group of seven touch down and cheer in unison as the stands begin cheering a mix of “hufflepuff” and “Cedric” You smile, watching the seeker high five his team mates and push back his hair once again.
You don’t even realize you’re clutching his quidditch robe right against your chest until the scent wafts up into your nose and your eyes slowly drift downwards.
At first all you can smell is faint hints of citrus lingering for a moment, but taking a deep breath the soft but powerful mix of musk and sandalwood cologne fills your senses, you smile. The earthy cologne suited Cedric. Glancing around, there seemed to be no eyes on you, so you raise the fabric closer to your nose and get hit full force by the sweet aroma. It was just strong enough to make your knees go weak, but not enough to be overpowering, perfect. You smile to yourself, but feel a pair of eyes looking at you. Looking down at the pitch again, your eyes meet a pair of sharp gray ones and you know he has caught you. Cedric smirks tracing his tongue over his teeth before turning and walking into the changeroom.
“Hufflepuff won so you know what that means!” Brinley squeals, taking your hand gently and helping you stand. “What?”
“Party in the common room tonight dummy, come on!” She exclaims, tugging you off again.
“But the ro-” You interject.
“You can give it to him at the party, now hurry up!” Brinley cheers, cutting you off and running with you in tow back to the castle.
By the time Cedric and the rest of the hufflepuff team reached the common room, the area was already filled with dancing students, drinks and people making out left and right. Cheers and applause went up for a moment as the winning team stepped into the busy room, before stopping again so the partying could continue.
Your eyes had been scanning the entrance ever since you stepped in, so as soon as you saw the familiar gray eyes and brown hair you stood to get to him but Brinley, already a couple fire whiskeys in, grabbed your hand.
“Don’t h-he’s gonna go take a shower now, don’t wanna talk to him, he stinks.” She murmurs out in between giggles. You roll your eyes and look back up again, but sure enough Cedric has disappeared and you sit back down.
“You sure you don’t want to- drink some?” Brinley asks, lifting a cup to your nose.
“Brin I need to be sober enough to give it back to him, later okay?” You smile, pushing the cup back to the brunette. She mutters a short ‘suit yourself’ in response.
For a while you simply sit on the couch with your leg bouncing nervously up and down, you keep glancing back and forth at the clock and the robe in your hands and as you finally begin tuning Brinley’s drunk rambling out, Cedric emerges from the boy’s staircase in a casual white t-shirt and gray sweatpants. Standing again, you weave your way through the crowd and tap Cedric on the shoulder to get his attention. He turns to face you and a playful smirk lifts his lips.
“Well hello there kitten.” He teases softly.
“Hey Ced, h-here’s your robe.” You manage to stumble out, words getting caught in your throat as glistening beads of water slipped down from Cedric’s damp hair down his cheek.
“I don’t know, you seemed pretty attached to it after the game.” Cedric chuckles.
“Oh, t-that. That was nothing just-” You’re cut off by another voice.
“Y/n, they’re doing a drinking game, come on we have too!” Brinley laughs. “Oh hi Ceddy, would you like to join?” She asks, taking both of your hands.
“Sure sunshine, lead the way.” Cedric shrugs, ushering you forwards and nonchalantly placing his hand on your waist.
The three of you take a seat on the couches again and are handed a cup by another student.
“What are we playing?” You ask, turning to Cedric.
“A muggle game called ‘never have I ever.’ You just take a shot if you’ve done something they say.” He explains, thanking the person who begins filling up your glasses.
You nod and take a deep, trying to focus on your drink and not Cedric’s hand resting on your hip.
They start off with generic questions, “never have I ever broken a bone,” “never have I ever broken up with someone,” “never have I ever lost a bet.”
Soon at least everyone had taken at least one drink, you included.
“Alright, never have I ever had sex!” Brinley questions smugly, watching as one by one everyone threw back their drink with a smile, only to stop on you.
Her eyebrows furrow, “aren’t you gonna take a drink y/n?”
“Oh- aren’t the rules if you have done it?” You question, worried you had been playing the game wrong.
“No-no it is. But you’ve never ‘done the deed’ before?” She asks, tilting her head in confusion.
“Well, no.” You state, shrugging.
“Honey, are you saying you’re in your last year of school, and you’ve never had a good shag?” She giggles, losing her filter with the amount of drinks she had.
“Brinley!” You scold, burning up with embarrassment.
“Aw, y/n!” She coos, wrapping you in a tight hug as if you were a lost puppy. “You’re so innocent and sweet, it’s adorable.” She slurs, giggling and turning back to the game.
Your lips purse and your eyebrows furrow. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to do it, you just never had the chance. You kept repeating it over to yourself as if that would change anything, but your mouth remained sealed and your eyebrows furrowed.
Cedric notices your change in demeanor and leans down closer to your ear.
“Are you alright kitten?”
It may have been the alcohol giving you a boost in confidence, or maybe the teasing you couldn’t stand, but you squeezed your legs together shamelessly right for Cedric to see.
Glancing up at the brunette you shake your head and stand from your spot, you extend your hand out for Cedric to take and he obliges, allowing you to lead him down to a more secluded area next to the boy’s dormitory staircase.
“Is everything alright?” Cedric asks as you cut him off.
“C-Can you help me?” You stammer out, wringing your fingers together.
“With what y/n?” Cedric implores, tilting your chin up to face him.
“Y-You’ve done it before right? A lot?” You continue, feeling your face grow hot.
“Listen kitten, I can only help you if you tell me what it is.” Cedric states firmly.
You swallow your pride and feel your knees buckling under his intense stare, with all the courage you can muster, you take a deep breath and murmur.
“Can you show me how to do it, c-can you fuck  me?”
Cedric’s eyes widen and he has to blink the shock out of his eyes. He’d never been asked to help someone through their first time, he found it surprising you would ask him of all people, but at the same time, it was no secret he had done it all when it came to this and your request had his cock hardening in need.
“Alright kitten.” Cedric smirks, taking your hand into his and leading you up the stairs to his private head-boy room. “If you want a lesson, I’d be happy to give one.” He chuckles darkly.
You can already feel the arousal from his words alone dripping from your core to your panties as you nod slowly. Cedric pulls you into his dorm, shutting the door behind him in locking it.
“Now be good darling, and let me teach you.” Cedric smirks, pinning you against the wall and lifting your chin up to him. “Y-Yes…” You respond shyly.
“Yes, who?” Cedric teases, leaning closer to you and ghosting them right over yours. “Call me whatever feels right, kitten.” Cedric smirks, noticing you deep in thought.
“Yes daddy.” You respond meekly, almost like a question. Cedric’s eyebrows raise and his mouth begins to water at your words.
“Say it again, louder.” Cedric teases, placing his hands on your hips and squeezing tightly.
“Yes daddy!” You repeat louder, watching as Cedric’s sharp gray eyes go dark and his lips are on yours. Cedric groans as your lips mould to his, and he takes the lead, moving you in sync with his movements and tilting your chin for better access.
The brunette had never had a lover call him any nicknames before, they usually stuck to his name as he fucked them, but Merlin was this better.
His hands fly to the hem of your sweatshirt as he breaks the kiss for a moment to throw it off before connecting your lips again, slowly prodding his tongue along your bottom lip as you submissively open your mouth to give him access.
Cedric glides his tongue against yours gently swirling it around, taking in the taste of strong firewhiskey essence left on your breath and the sweet smelling perfume on your skin.
His hands travel down your chest and onto your hips as he drags your pants down by the waist, leaving them in a pool around your legs, leaving you only in your bra and panties.
Not taking his lips off yours, Cedric takes your hands and places them at the hem of his white shirt and you get the message, slowly, you take the soft fabric in between your fingers and tug it up Cedric’s chest, pulling back to maneuver it over his head and dropping it on the ground beside you. Taking your hands into his again, Cedric guides your hands to his torso and chest, inviting you to touch him as he deepens the kiss once again.
You oblige and place one hand on his toned shoulder and the other finds its place around Cedric’s abdomen and on his lower back, pulling you impossibly closer to the hufflepuff.
Your breath hitches as you feel the brunette’s hard length pressing against your lower stomach and you pull away from the kiss for a moment to look down and gulp nervously.
Cedric looks down at you teasingly, watching your eyes go from excitement to anxiety.
“What’s wrong kitten? Do you want to get on your knees for your daddy?” Cedric chuckles, placing his nose against your ear and whispering in a hushed tone.
“Y-Yes daddy, but-”
“Shh, daddy has it covered, kitten.” Cedric smirks, bringing his long digits up and placing two in front of your lips.
“Now show me what you want to do, and then we’ll put those lips of yours to real use.” Cedric nods, doing his best to keep himself upright as you nervously open your mouth and take his fingers down to the knuckle, Cedric swallows his urge to just fuck you right there and bites back a groan as your tongue begins swirling around his fingers. Your movements are slow and timid at first, but you move your hand up to hold Cedric’s fingers in place and begin moving your head back and forth, moving quickly but taking your time to drag your tongue up and down Cedric’s long digits.
“Fuck that’s perfect kitten.” Cedric smiles weakly, feeling his cock begin to throb in desire.
“Does it feel good daddy?” You ask, pushing Cedric back a bit so you have room to get down on your knees. “Yes, so good.”
You smile and pull down Cedric’s sweatpants by the waistband and his hand finds its way into your hair, softly at first, but as his length finally springs free, his grip tightens and you smirk knowingly.
Taking Cedric’s shaft into your hands you begin teasing the hufflepuff’s tip with your tongue, running it up and down his thick shaft as his grip on your hair tightens and soft groans leave his lips. You pause for a moment, and Cedric, sensing your fear, places his other hand on your jaw and gathers your hair into his hand.
“You’re doing so well, kitten, making daddy feel so good.” Cedric sighs contently with a grin. Your smile returns to your face and you nod, taking Cedric’s length into your mouth as far as you could and using your hand for what you can’t reach, and like with his fingers you begin swirling your tongue around, testing the waters and glazing up to see Cedric’s reaction.
Eyes closed, mouth agape, and incoherent curses spilling from his lips, you feel your confidence grow and you pick up the pace, bobbing your head back and forth and slowing down to tease his tip. You grow daring and attempt to go deeper, and as Cedric feels his tip hitting the back of your throat he lets out a low groan and feels his hips rolling gently.
With tears pricking your eyes you take Cedric’s cock as the arousal in your pussy grows and with eyes clouded by pleasure, the gray-eyed hufflepuff smirks.
“Use your finger kitten, and make circles around until you find the right spot.” Cedric instructs, watching your hand travel down past your stomach and into your panties.
You experiment around, slowly moving upwards until you feel it, a sudden burst of pleasure hitting you right in the perfect spot..
“Mmh!” You moan, moving your fingers faster against your clit, finally feeling the need in your lower stomach being satisfied.
Your moans send vibrations up Cedric’s shaft and send the brunette doubling over in pleasure with one hand on the wall behind you for support.
“T-That’s it kitten, fuck.” Cedric sighs, watching your hand move back and forth against your clit while your tongue swirls addictively against his cock.
For a moment, with his eyes practically rolling into the back of his head Cedric forgets ‘the lesson’ and delves deeper into the pleasure, his eyes train on your lips wrapped around him and your fingers moving innocently, still too nervous to go deeper, the feeling of you gagging was enough to get him to snap out for a moment and let go of his grip on your hair.
“W-What’s wrong daddy?” You ask, looking up to Cedric with wide eyes.
“N-Nothing, it’s just time for our next lesson.” He explains, helping you up and leading you over to his bed.
Pushing you backwards onto the bed, Cedric watches intrigued as your eyes fly about his room instead of looking at him and he bites back a smirk.
“That’s enough kitten, lay back.” Cedric commands.
You oblige immediately, slowly lowering yourself onto the soft bed and wringing your fingers together over your stomach.
Cedric pauses, dragging his eyes over your body and taking in every curve, you feel the insecurity bubble in your stomach and you move your hands to hide it, when Cedric grabs them and whispers a simple, “don’t, you’re beautiful.”
Your face flushes red and you allow Cedric to place your arms at your side before hooking his fingers on the sides of your soaked panties and pulling them down.
The full scent of your arousal hits him full force and the sight of it glistening all for him made the wish to just drop to his knees now unbearable.
“Okay kitten. I want you to spread your legs and play with your clit again.” Cedric orders, stepping back and crossing his arms.
“W-What?”
“Spread your legs and fuck yourself with your fingers, kitten.” Cedric repeats, watching in amusement as your eyes widen and your lips purse nervously, legs spreading and fingers finding themselves on your clit nevertheless.
“L-Like this daddy?” You ask, gently teasing your fingers down your slit.
“Faster kitten.” Cedric replies plainly, smirking to himself.
You gasp suddenly as your digits begin to pick up the pace, moving in circles around your throbbing clit. “L-Like this?” You pant, throwing your head back gently as the pleasure
“That’s perfect darling. How does it feel?” Cedric smirks.
“Good. So-So good!” You squeak, curling your toes at the euphoria rushing through your abdomen and through your veins as you push your fingers faster and faster.
Your hips buck upwards and your panting grows heavier as your thoughts and movement begin to grow erratic. Cedric licks his lips and steps forwards, lowering himself down onto his knees and prying your hand away, he watches in delight as your eyes widen in confusion at him, your mouth opening and closing as you try to regain your thoughts.
“Just relax, kitten.” Cedric coos, inching closer and licking a thick stripe up your core, lingering seductively on your clit as he pushes it around with his tongue.
“O-Oh fuck.” You moan, tightening your grip on the sheet as you watch Cedric suck gently on the sensitive bud. His large calloused hands massage your thighs as he works, gently caressing them as they shake in pleasure.
He shifts his attention downwards, letting his tongue slide down until he reaches your slit and then, agonizingly slowly, he begins to dip the tip of his tongue in and out, again and again, watching you shake and whine impatiently, waiting for you to break.
You try to pull him closer to you by burying your hand into his hair and tugging on him, but he keeps his pace, no matter how hard you buck your hips or grind down on him he persists until finally you beg.
“Please daddy, please. I-I need you! Fuck go faster.” You cry in pure need.
Cedric smirks to himself victoriously and obliges.
“Whatever my princess wants.”
As if a switch was flipped Cedric begins darting his tongue out as quick as he could, going in and out and lapping up and down.
The hufflepuff moves his hand from your thigh and begins slowly teasing you as his tongue swirls around your clit. You whimper at the feeling of his fingers sinking into your slit and grind your hips instinctively at the feeling. Your core clenches as Cedric’s digits pick up the pace, your mouth parts over and over again, trying to find your voice, but no words come out. You couldn’t think, couldn’t move, all you could feel was Cedric fingers thrusting in and out of you and his tongue sending delicious shockwaves up your stomach it was too much, but it felt so fucking good. You could feel your body clench and something tightening inside you that kept tugging everytime Cedric’s fingers slammed back into you.
Cedric chuckles to himself, sending even more vibrations up your core. He knew what was coming. Your breathing was growing erratic, your hips were bucking and you were squirming around in his grip.
“Do you feel that kitten?” He smirks, watching as you nod vigorously.
“Let go, darling. Relax.” Cedric hushes in a soft tone.
His fingers don’t stop as you finally give in, white flashing your vision as you cry and feel your release, crying Cedric’s name over and over again as he helps you ride out your high.
“Beautiful darling.” He murmurs, cleaning you off with his tongue as you whimper in response.
“How are you feeling? We can stop if-”
You cut him off.
“No! P-Please daddy, it feels so good I want more.” Your eyes widen at your own words and your face flushes a deep shade of red, you look down.
Cedric’s eyes widen for a moment before his grin returns and he nods.
“Very well then.” He murmurs, ditching his sweatpants that were wrapped around his ankles and climbing onto his bed.
Pushing you back gently he positions himself above you and takes his lips into yours in a soft kiss, waiting for you to return it.
Your eyes close and you tilt your head to the side, allowing Cedric to part his lips and tease his tongue along yours.
You breathe sharply in through your nose as the taste of your pussy still lingers on Cedric’s lips, but you find yourself moaning at the sensation, wrapping your arms around Cedric’s neck to pull him closer to you.
His hands move to your back where he skillfully unclips your bra, breaking the kiss for only a second as he pulls it from your arms and tosses it away.
Before you even realize it his lips are on your again, harder this time and far more passionate, he moves his lips slowly but fully, making you moan in satisfaction.
You feel your arousal grow again as heat builds up in your core, you swing your legs impatient around Cedric’s torso in a wordless plea to fuck you.
Cedric smiles into the kiss and without removing his lips from yours he uses his hands to loosen the grip from your legs and place them back on his bed. He pushes them apart and gets himself into position, before slowly pushing his length into you. You drew a sharp breath as he pushed deeper into you, but the sharp feeling went away almost immediately as you shifted yourself into a more comfortable position.
Cedric has to restrain himself from starting as he waits for your permission to start. Being your first time, he didn’t want to accidentally hurt you, or start before you were ready.
He lets out a breathy groan, you wrapped around him so perfectly, he had to pull away from your lips for a moment to bite his lip.
You capture his lips back into yours and whisper softly for him to start, Cedric doesn’t hesitate and begins to roll his hips in and out, building speed with each thrust of his hips.
“Fuck kitten you feel so good.” He moans, moving his lips to your neck and sucking on the sensitive skin as you sigh in pleasure.
Your breathing came out in rough pants with each thrust from Cedric’s hips, mixing with moans of ecstasy as he filled you up each time, hitting the spot deep in you that had your toes curling and your head lolling back.
“Faster daddy please!” You cry as Cedric nods and quickened his pace making shallow but thorough thrusts and sent vibration all the way up your body and through your veins.
“F-Fuck right there.” You beg, holding onto Cedric’s back like your life depended on it.
“You’re doing so well for me kitten, f-fuck.” Cedric praises causing light shivers to go down your spine.
You whimper softly.
Cedric chuckles softly as he buries his neck in your neck again and bucks his hips, burying himself fully causing a sharp gasp.
“Kitten you feel so good wrapped around my cock, Merlin I could fuck you for days.” The brunette murmurs darkly.
Your face darkens even more and you can only squeak out a small ‘thank you’ before Cedric begins snapping his hips back and forth again.
“Oh- oh fuck.”
“You like it when I praise you kitten? Tell you how perfect you feel while I fuck you.” Cedric taunts, pressing hard kisses down your neck.
“Yes daddy, I love it!” You shout, tightening your grip on his back as Cedric thrusts faster and harder
The tight sensation in your stomach was back and it was getting harder to hold in your climax with Cedric thrusts still hitting your core perfectly.
“D-Daddy, I’m so close.” You pant, arching your back and dropping your head into the pillows below you.
“I-I’m almost there kitten, you’re doing so well.” Cedric breathes, moaning in pleasure as you clench suddenly, trying to keep your release at bay.
“It’s alright darling, cum for me love.” Cedric murmurs, connecting your lips once more as his thrusts grow slower. You nod firmly, arching your back and feeling your eyes roll back as ecstasy pulses through your being.
The shockwaves from your release and the sound of your voice shouting his name pushes Cedric over the edge and after one final thrust his vision flashes.
“Oh fuck y/n.” He moans, slowly rolling his hips to ride out his high.
Cedric smiles as he finishes, collapsing gently beside you.
“How was it, kitten?” Cedric asks teasingly, placing his hand on your cheek.
“W-Wow.” You mutter after a moment. “It was perfect Ced, I learned so much.” You smile.
“That's great kitten, you did… amazing.” Cedric smirks, finding his voice getting caught in his throat as he speaks.
You glance out the window and see darkness pouring through the glass panes.
“M’ getting tired Ced.” You sigh, getting ready to throw the covers off and try to get back to your room.
“Hey, hey. It’s alright. You can stay here, I’ll clean you up.” The hufflepuff insists, sitting up suddenly and grabbing his wand.
You nod and close your eyes for a moment, he murmurs a spell and when you open your eyes again you are cleaned off and Cedric was walking towards you with clean clothes, wearing his sweatpants again.
“Here, I-I’ll get you some water.” he smiles, laying a large t-shirt and a pair of his boxers onto the bed.
You nod meekly and sit up carefully to grab the clothing.
Shrugging on the shirt, you watch as Cedric makes his way to his door.
“Thank you by the way.” You sigh hoarsely, smiling to yourself.
“Yeah, no problem. I’ll be back in a moment.” Cedric nods, opening the door to his dorm and leaving.
“Godric…” Cedric sighs to himself as he leaves. For a moment he leans on the door and just breathes. This was just supposed to be a ‘lesson.’ A one night thing where you’d be together one night and forget. But, how was he going to forget? The way you touched his skin, said his name, called him ‘daddy.’
Fuck.
By the time he reached the common room the party had died down to only the hufflepuff students who were either passed out or cleaning up.
The refreshments table still had a few pitchers of water no one had touched so Cedric grabs one and two cups before turning and walking towards the stairs.
When he returned you were half passed out on his bed, your eyes flutter lightly as he walks in and Cedric can’t help but smile. You look so beautiful lying there, exhausted, but absolutely stunning.
“Hey, I brought you something to drink.” He whispers, pouring you a drink before helping you sit up.
“Mm-” You nod, taking the cup from his hand and drinking it.
The cool water feels amazing down your dry throat, you smile and thank him again before handing the cup back to him and collapsing back into bed.
“I-I’ll sleep on the floor.” Cedric mutters, placing the cup onto his bedside stand.
“No- Can you stay with me, please?” You murmur out suddenly, shifting to the side of the bed and snuggling yourself into his blanket.
“Yeah, of course.”Cedric smiles, sitting beside you before laying and getting situated in the covers.
You turn as soon as he’s comfortable and cuddle yourself into his chest.
“G’night Cedric.” You yawn, feeling your fatigue pull you into unconsciousness.
“Goodnight y/n.” The hufflepuff murmurs, wrapping his arms around your torso and resting his chin over your head.
There was something soothing about your breathing, the scent of your hair, the feeling of your skin against his. Something about you felt right, you felt perfectly sculpted against him.
Almost, ethereal.
But you deserved so much better than him. More than a playboy that has used every trick in the book. More than someone who could barely remember his nights because of alcohol. More than him.
You were innocent, more or less, compared to him. You still had a chance.
He sighs, pulling you closer to him.
For tonight though it didn’t matter, you were asleep peacefully in his arms and he was there with you. You could make the choice in the morning. But for now he was here, with you.
And that was all that mattered.

The future still wasn't perfect in Takemichi's eyes. Sure, most of the people he tried saving survived but there still was no happy ending for any of them. And once again, Hinata had been killed.
It was confusing him. Surely he had made sure that everything was fixed in the past? What was he missing that could have caused another bad future. The blond had even asked Chifuyu about any events that could be coming up that would cause Mikey to turn out the same as he had every other future. Was it Kisaki? But Kisaki had been fired from Toman.
Chifuyu could not offer much information, after all, he did not know the future and Mikey hadn't declared a war on any other gangs since last time Takemichi had gone back. So there was no luck in that department. Maybe they were both overlooking something small that would be massive in the future?
Takemichi was sort of thankful that he had been called up about the Toman meeting that was happening that night. He could find his answer there, he was sure. After all, each meeting he had gone to so far had provided him with an idea of what was going to happen.
He had arrived at the shrine earlier than most other members. The only ones he really knew that had arrived were Draken, Mitsuya and Chifuyu considering that was who he hitched a ride with. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary except Mikey wasn't with Draken as he usually would be.
Curiosity had gotten the better of the young Toman, he had went to ask Draken where the captain was. Draken simply pointed over to a gathering of trees, explaining that Mikey could usually be found there before meetings start. That seemed to only make the boy's curiosity worse, wondering what Mikey could be doing in the cover of the trees.
He couldn't be meeting up with Kisaki still, could he? Is that why the future was not getting any better? Panic filled Takemichi as he approached the trees. If he was talking with Kisaki then that could be his only chance to stop it and create the perfect future he wanted!
It was as he was getting closer that he heard what he thought was two voices talking quietly. Not quiet enough where it could be considered whispering but enough where Takemichi couldn't make out the words being exchanged. He could tell one of them was definitely Mikey but the other could have been anyone. Had Mikey decided to ally himself with someone even more dangerous than Kisaki was proving to be? After all, nobody in Toman had been able to see Mikey in the future so it could be possible.
Trying his best to hide himself from Mikey, Takemichi peeked his head around to find a sight that made his cheeks flush a dark red. Mikey had both hands against a tree trunk with an absolute hottie between them. At first, it seemed a little alarming for the younger blond until he had noticed the soft smile and blush that dusted your features.
It was only when Mikey leaned down to press a kiss to your lips that Takemichi had felt he was overstaying his welcome. Especially since he wasn't really welcome in the first place. He was simply a creepy peeper at that moment. Why did he keep ending up in these types of moments that made him look like a creep?! First it was with Emma and now he was essentially watching his captain make out with his girlfriend.
"I love you, Mikey." Your voice was breathless from that kiss, your eyes sparkling as they stared into your lover's dark ones. It was obvious to anyone that you were both so in love with each other. Hell, you were sneaking off together at any moment you could find just to be all lovey dovey with each other.
"I love you more, Y/N."
Takemichi had caught that small snippet of your conversation as he was trying to silently walk away. He really didn't want to be caught by the Invincible Mikey staring at the loving exchange after all. But it did get him thinking. Had you ever been mentioned in the future? Surely if you were this in love, you would remain by Mikey's side forever?
The Toman meeting started as it usually did. You would be sat on the stairs while your boyfriend would address the issues related to the gang. Everyone knew who you were, you would always be at the meetings after all unless you had to attend to other business. That would explain why Takemichi hadn't seen you. You must have been attending to other things every meeting that the blond went to. All throughout the meeting, Takemichi could only try and recall if you're present in some way in the future. Surely you would still be hanging around with the same people 12 years later.
He would have to contact Naoto in the future as soon as he could. After all, if there was something big that was going to happen then he would want to find out as soon as he could. And so, as soon as the meeting was finished, he made his way to the Tachibana household to find young Naoto.
"So, how did it go? Were you able to change anything?" That was the first thing Naoto asked once Takemichi had woken up. It was the same routine each time. Naoto would ask if he had changed anything, knowing that it wasn't enough since Hinata was still dead. But maybe if something had changed, they were a little bit closer to finding out what was causing this chain of reactions.
Takemichi shook his head and then dived headfirst into his question. He had asked if you were ever mentioned in one way or another. Maybe if you were still alive, something must have happened between you and Mikey which he could prevent from occurring. Just thinking back on how in love you both were with each other, he was beginning to doubt that it was a simple break up.
It had taken the two males a full hour until your name had popped up in their searches. It really didn't help that Takemichi only knew your first name and that you would hang out with Toman. The news article had filled the computer screen, a photo of you smiling in the top corner of the page. It gave off a vibe that didn't match the contents of the article.
You had been stabbed 15 times in the chest and stomach during a gang brawl between Toman and a gang Takemichi hadn't heard of yet. You were rushed to the hospital but had died before the doctors could reach you. It stated that it was a boy named Manjiro Sano that had brought you in.
It all started to make sense now. You had been caught up in the brawl and had sustained injuries that had ended your life. So Mikey had lost himself when you had died in his arms as he tried his best to save you.
Takemichi checked the date on which you had died. 2 days from today. Why wasn't this brawl mentioned at the Toman meeting?! Did Mikey keep it a secret or was it a spontaneous confrontation? Takemichi could only guess it was the second option. Especially since the brawl would take place at Toman's meeting spot at the shrine.
"I need to save Y/N from dying. That is what we were missing! If she survives, Mikey won't lose another piece of himself." And with that, the handshake that activated the time leaping had taken place.
Takemichi had explained his plan to Chifuyu. Explained how there would be a brawl the next day at the shrine and how that is possibly the trigger for the bad futures. After all, Mikey might stay sane with you by his side. Chifuyu couldn't believe what he was hearing. A gang would have the balls to enter the meeting place of Toman just to start a fight? They must either hold a huge grudge against them or were just plain insane. No gang was to ever enter another gang's meeting spot as it was seen as sacred.
The blond had vowed that he would do anything he could to protect you from harm and ultimately save Mikey from his dark future. Even if he had to glue himself to your side, he would make sure nothing happened to you. He would make up for the time he had failed to save Baji.
You and Mikey continued with your routine. Enter the tree clearing and spend some quality time together. You both exchanged kisses, splitting the dorayaki you would keep on you for your boyfriend, and joking around. Everything a couple in love should do.
The day of the brawl had arrived and so had the rival gang. It was in the middle of Mikey addressing his gang that the opponent's had arrived. The shock was quickly erased as the fighting began. Mikey had made sure you stayed close behind him so he could keep you safe, even though you could fight. Maybe not as well as most of the Toman members but you were capable of keeping yourself safe.
Takemichi scanned the entire shrine area in search of you. Relief had briefly enveloped the middle schooler. After all, if Mikey was with you, nobody could touch you. Or that's what everyone had thought. You had been separated from Mikey as soon as the gang members discovered you were cared for deeply by him. They had thought that if they got you, they could win the fight.
It was if the world was entering slow motion. Takemichi tried to push his way to where you were being dragged, the determination to save everyone being his main driving force. Mikey had yet to notice you were no longer behind him, too focused on taking out the leader and winning the brawl so he could take you home where you would be safe. However, that plan was quickly becoming less likely.
"Shit! Move out of my way!" Takemichi had panic pumping throughout his veins. If he couldn't get to you in time, there was no second chance. It was times like this that made him realise just how human he was. He was one boy, not a God. He could only do so much. But he was sure as hell gonna try and save you.
"Y/N!" Takemichi's voice carried across the entirety of the battlefield. So much so that everyone had frozen, especially Mikey. He turned his gaze to behind him where he thought you were only to find you were missing. Frantic, his dark eyes scanned the area until they rested on you being held against your will. The boy who held you had his arm across your neck, squeezing so you couldn't call out to your boyfriend. However, it was the knife that he pointed to your chest that had Mikey scared.
Takemichi was the only person who didn't freeze, pushing his way past the bodies that stood like statues. He could make it! He could save everyone with this one action! He was convinced that this was why Mikey had given into his dark impulses and why no-one could get their happily ever afters.
He was too late. The knife had pierced through your chest, narrowly missing any vital organs. This had seemed to spur the younger blond to increase his speed, trying to keep in mind that you could survive if he kept the stabs to a minimum. After all, the news article had explained how you had been stabbed 15 times. One was fixable. One he could deal with.
Mikey couldn't seem to move. His love had been stabbed. For no other reason than they were there and sticking by him. This wasn't fair. You had nothing to do with what the problem was and you shouldn't be paying the price for it either.
It felt like an eternity for Takemichi to reach where you were. His legs were screaming at him to stop and his heart was beating a million miles a minute. In the time it took him to get to you, you had sustained another two stabs in your stomach and chest. The person doing it was nothing short of a monster. He didn't care that you were innocent or that you were a girl. He just continued his mission.
The sound of skin to skin contact echoed, a sickening crack following along. Takemichi had landed the hardest punch he could muster against the side profile of the monster. The crack was the jaw breaking underneath the force. You were released as the perpetrator stumbled backwards, falling as he lost consciousness. Takemichi had made it but he wasn't confident that it was in time. He couldn't help but watch as you smiled and fell sideways. Fueled simply by the adrenaline, he had carefully picked you up in his arms before starting his journey to the hospital.
Draken had been the one to snap Mikey out of his daze, telling him to get his bike. There was no way that Takemichi would get there in time if he was simply thinking of running. And so that's what Mikey did. He fired up his precious bike, ordering the young blond to climb onto the back before speeding his way to the closest medical facility.
Due to all of this, you had survived. Takemichi had succeeded in saving you and thus saving Mikey. There was a possibility that the future would be good this time.
Once he had heard you were alive and doing well, Mikey had finally let himself react. Tears fell one after the other down his cheeks and relief had lifted his heart. He wouldn't lose you. You were alive because of Takemitchy. That is something Mikey couldn't thank the younger blond enough for. He had saved your life when Mikey could do nothing but watch.
Everyone expressed their gratitude for Takemichi. After all, they couldn't imagine what Mikey would turn out like if he had lost you during that fight. Takemichi had an idea but wasn't about to spill what the future he knew was like. Speaking of which, he did wonder how this had affected his future. Would everyone finally have their happy endings? He sure did hope so.
As soon as Naoto had shook his hand, Takemichi had found himself sitting at a table with a can of beer in his hand. Confused on what was going on, he glanced around at his surroundings. He was currently in a home that looked nothing like his apartment. Photos of a couple he vaguely recognised littered the walls, there was the scent of takeout wafting in the air, and the noise was loud yet joyful.
A few days later, Takemichi decided to head back to where he belonged. 12 years in the future. You had been discharged from the hospital and probably on a date with Mikey as he approached the Tachibana residence. Thinking about it, Mikey had seemed to brighten up more ever since you had been allowed out of the hospital. Takemichi laughed as he recalled Mikey buried under a large bouquet of your favourite flowers and a giant plushie of your favourite animal on that day. You had simply laughed before peppering the Toman leader's face in kisses. You had also planted a peck on the younger boy's cheek as a sign of how grateful you were to him. After all, if Takemichi hadn't done any of that, you wouldn't be able to spend anymore time with Mikey. You owed him your life.
That's when Takemichi realised he had done it. Hinata was chatting happily with Yuzuha and Hakkai about their experiences in Europe; Mitsuya, Smiley and Angry were laughing about some inside joke no-one knew about; Pah-chin and Peh-yan were discussing business relating to the real estate agency; Kazutora and Inui were drinking in the corner, simply observing the festivities; and Draken was chatting away happily to Mikey, his arm around Emma's waist as she tried to soothe their baby. Takemichi had saved them all. They were all OK. Most of all, Hinata was alive.
"Anyone needing any refills?" your voice trailed in from where you stood in the doorway connecting the living room and kitchen. You looked almost the same except for a few features. Takemichi knew at that moment that this was the perfect future for everyone, especially when Hinata had come over and kissed his cheek. The discussion around the room had suddenly become one as everyone spoke about the upcoming weddings between you and Mikey as well as the one between Takemichi and Hinata. For the first time in a long time, Takemichi could let go of the weight he had carried around and enjoy his life with his friends and his fiancé.

Eijiro was preoccupied, playing a card game with Tali and Luce. You'd excused yourself after winning three games in a row, allowing them to have a losers bracket but really it just gave you an out to sneak into the spacious bathroom off the bedroom.
The bottles of developer and dye sat on the edge of the counter beside the small tub of bleach, bowl, and brush you'd packed, towels were laid out everywhere because there was no way in hell you were risking bleach getting on anything in here. You just had to begin but, man, you didn't want to.
You ran your fingers through your hair, letting the light catch the vibrant color that your mother would absolutely hate but you happened just to love. It was such a superficial thing, just hair color, you could always dye it back but, in reality, you just didn't want to get rid of it in the first place.
About four hours remained of your flight. It'd give you enough time to throw on bleach to lighten your hair enough that the brown, the only "normal" hair color you had on hand, would stay. All in all, you should be done with time to spare!
"Ms Y/N?"
Quickly you unclipped the towel from around your neck and shuffled from the bathroom. "There you are! I lost." She pouted, "I'm no good at card games, board games are more my style. I thought I'd check on you while they finished... are you feeling alright?"
She eyed the bathroom that you slinked out of making sure to shut the door behind you. "Oh! Yeah, I'm fine!"
"Are you sure? Was it breakfast? Or are you a nervous flyer? We have medication for that."
"No, Tali, really it's nothing like that!"
Tali lowered her voice, "Does Mr. Kirishima make you nervous?" she asked, her lips curling up in a grin.
"Wha? N-no!" Gods, what were you? Seventeen again and a blubbering idiot when Mina asked you who you liked during a game of spin the frickin' bottle? "No, Kiri and I, we're..." Her giggling didn't help you put words to what you and Eijiro were. "We're really, really good friends. We've been that way for a long time too. I don't have any reason to be nervous around him!"
"Kiri, hm? Between a nickname and what Luce saw last night... and he was going to bring you breakfast in bed, you seem a bit more than just friends."
She was a nosy woman, you could say that with confidence. "I didn't say just friends, I said we're really, really, good friends." Luce narrowed her eyes, obviously unsatisfied with your answer. "Fine, we're really, really good, close, friends. He's one of the best people I know."
"And you two just passionately make out on romantic getaways... as really, really good, close friends?" Oh, for fucks- "Who also sleep together?"
"First off all, we literally just slept together, that's it, so don't go getting that idea. Second, this getaway is anything but romantic. This is going to be an, uh, un-romantic getaway... yeah. Because I'm going to have to deal with an onslaught of family relatives that are going to ask me why I'm not married yet or settling down. Why I'd rather save lives instead of marrying rich and becoming the perfect doting housewife. They're going to pick and poke. How can you be a hero when you look like that," You mocked a specific aunt, "She can never just be normal, is she really related to us?", That time a cousin. And, a final mock of your mother, "I have no idea what I was thinking when I slept with your father. And now I gotta dye my hair too so that's not a topic of conversation. Trust me when I say after this getaway, I'm gonna need another one! A vacation from this non-vacation. One where Eiji can preferably rail me until I forget about all their utter bullshit!" Your chest was heaving when your rant came to an end, hot, angry tears rolling down the balls of your cheeks. Tali staring at you with wide eyes.
"Shit, Tali, I'm so incredibly sorry! You didn't deserve-"
"Can I hug you?"
"Huh?"
"You seem like you need one."
She took a step closer and waited for you to nod before putting her arms around you. Tali hummed as she did so. "I didn't mean to pry, I shouldn't have assumed what you two were doing."
"'S not your fault. 'M sorry I dumped it on you."
"Does Mr. Kirishima know how much this is bothering you?"
You sat on the edge of the bed while she perched on the edge of the chair. "He's very aware-"
"But, ya didn't tell me it was this bad." Eijiro was leaning in the doorway, you weren't sure how long he'd been there, "Tali, can we have a moment?"
She bowed her head and hurried from the room, closing the door behind her. "How much did you hear?"
You let him tilt your head upward towards him before he answered, his thumb whisking away tear tracks, "Enough." Whether that was an answer to your question or a remark in regards to your tears, you were sure.
He maneuvered wordlessly around you, swinging his leg around so he had one on either side of your thighs and his hands settled against your shoulders. Thumbs dug into the spots he knew you carried your tension, finding the knots and slowly working to alleviate the ache.
The rage you built up slowly subsided and your shoulders finally dropped allowing you to lean into his touch.
A breathy moan escaped when he moved low on your scapula and his low chuckle sent you further into relaxation. Eijiro didn't say a single word for almost twenty minutes and when he did, it was to ask if anywhere else hurt. There was no mention of the outburst you'd had or the things that came out of your mouth during it.
You mumbled something about your midback feeling a little tight, "Then lay on your stomach for me." Eijiro waited for you to get situated, arms hanging over the edge of the bed before caging you in between his legs again. You barely felt the weight of him though, he supported himself on his shins while his hands found the tight muscles coiled in your back. Running his hands under your shirt, so very warm while he manipulated your skin with ease.
Eijiro leaned forward, placing his thumbs on either side of your spine, low on your lumbar region, and with just a smidge more pressure than he needed, he pushed them upward. Unimpeded by a pesky bra strap since you had yet to put one on, earning a series of delightful little pops that paired nicely with the little whine you gave him. It was also impossible not to feel his arousal when it brushed over the swell of your ass during the action but you said nothing, drew no attention to it and neither did he. The man settled again, seeming determined to find every bundle of physical stress and rid you of it.
"Did that help at all?" He asked just as your eyes started to slip shut, words warm against the shell of your ear.
"More than you know. You give the best back rubs." Your voice was muffled by the blanket below you but he got the gist of what you meant.
Eijiro plopped down beside you with a sigh and 'you're welcome'. He trailed his fingers along your spine, light enough he sent goosebumps erupting over your skin. The callouses he'd built up over the years scratching your skin ever so slightly.
"'M sorry you heard all that."
"It's nothin' I haven't heard before."
His own eyes were closing even though his hand kept moving.
"Doesn't make it better or right though."
"It doesn't have to be right. Your family is just a pain to deal with, I've known that since we were kids. I can't fuckin' stand how they treat you, don't respect the person you are or the work you do but, that just means I gotta remind you how great you are. Well, me and the rest of our friends. 'Member, they're not the only family you've got." You kept watching him even though his eyes had closed. "I get why you wanna go to this, don't want more bad blood but, they don't deserve you. They're not worth your time or your worries. You're too good for 'em."
When you kissed his cheek he cracked an eye open, a sleepy little grin on his face. "Thanks, Eiji." He nodded easily pulling you to him, slotting his leg between yours as if it was something he'd always done. "Wait, we shouldn't sleep, it'll mess up our sleep schedules really bad when we're there."
"'M not sleepin'. Just restin' my eyes for a bit."
>>><<<
Just resting eyes turned into a two-hour nap and when you woke from it, Eijiro was once again missing from the bed.
Well, shit, you certainly weren't going to have time to dye your hair now. Not after that meltdown and surprise naptime. But, when you pushed open the bathroom door, everything was already picked up. The towels off the floor, bottles no longer on the counter... what the hell?
Your answer came in the form of a bag shaking behind you. Eijiro had reappeared, "Imagine my surprise when I found our bathroom turned into a hair studio." He pulled out the bottle of dye, "Brown? Really? I don't think I've seen you with natural hair color, well, except for when you first came to UA. And that leads me to believe you're doing this because your mother said you should; am I right?"
You folded your arms over your chest. "Maybe. Maybe I just felt like dying it brown because I could."
"Yeah, I don't buy that. You like changing your hair color but you just got it done and you love that color, you haven't stopped talking about it!"
You weren't a convincing enough liar to try and get around it so you just held you position with your mouth shut. "Fine then, if you really want it brown, I'll just keep a hold of this until we get back and you can do-"
"Eiji, wait, no." You tried to pull the bag but he held it out of your reach, "Really, that's not fair."
"What's not fair is your mother asking you to change something about you that you really like. What's she gonna say about mine?"
"You're not her daughter!"
He tossed the bag on the bed and held you up off the ground before you could dive for it. "Stop it! You're being ridiculous, you know that?" You stopped thrashing for a moment to look at him. Gone was his lighthearted tone and grin, Eijiro was completely serious. "'M done messin' around. If you wanna change something about you, you do it for yourself. You don't have to change a thing about you just to make someone else happy. That's so dumb. And your mother wouldn't even be happy about it, she'd be pacified until she finds something else to pick at you about! Don't waste your time changing something you love for her sake!"
You looked down at him, hands on his shoulders, and you knew there was no arguing when Eijiro was pushed this far. Not even Katsuki with his stubborn-as-a-bull personality stood a chance when Eijiro dug his heels in.
And so you relented with a sigh, "Okay."
"Yes, okay. Now can you put me down, please?"
"Well, that depends," He shifted you in his hold, "Are you saying that just so I'll let you go and you can make a break for it?"
You raised a brow at him. "You do realize I could just blink out of this, right?"
"We agreed you using your quirk when traveling at such high speeds is too risky. You wouldn't do that."
Damn it. You were hoping he'd forgotten about that. "What're you gonna do, Eiji? Hold me until we land?"
His own raised brows told you that was not the right thing to say; you gave him a challenge. "Maybe I will." His hands slid down to your thighs, "Not like it'd be hard for me to."
Red Riot, a 2nd-year student at UA, age 17, who'd held up a massive robot some villain had created so a couple his fellow classmates could rescue those trapped underneath.
Red Riot, a sidekick for the Pro Hero Fat Gum, age 20, kept a helicopter on the ground so villains couldn't escape using sheer force while being shot at.
Pro Hero Red Riot, age 24, held up a section of rubble from a collapsed resort during a hurricane just last year for five hours until he and the eleven civilians he protected could be rescued.
Yeah. Holding you for the remaining 90-minutes of the flight would be no problem for Eijiro at all. You were practically the equivalent of a loaf of bread to him, you always have been.
The smile he gave you was cocky but rightfully earned. "Please, Ei." You pouted. "I won't go after the hair dye, I'll keep it as it is right now."
"And you won't change anything about yourself for anyone else but you. Promise me." He stuck his pinky out.
You linked yours to his, "Promise."
>>><<<
The rest of the flight went by quickly and landing was incredibly smooth. For some reason, neither of you seemed to realize you'd be getting in at nearly midnight thanks to time changes and all that.
But, there was still the jeep waiting for you that you requested before you'd even left home. Large enough that it was comfortable for Eijiro and practical enough to drive through the snowy weather that you were sure to face.
Before leaving, Eijiro made a point to coordinate with both Tali and Luce, explaining how if they didn't have anything scheduled, he'd like them to be the stewardesses for the return flight as well; a decent amount of that was by your request. And it was a request that they were happy to fulfill, assuming he fill out the required documents.
"If you're up for driving, I can do the request on the way."
You pulled the seat forward, checked the mirrors, and all the other usual car nonsense. The signs out of the hanger were easy enough to follow, and when you got on the road, you were almost surprised to find you really didn't need your GPS. Memories of the highways and the city itself came back to you quickly, unlike they did last time you were back in America.
The last time was for a job. Undercover work. There was no sightseeing or visiting old haunts about the only thing you did have time for was eating from your favorite fast-food chain. Which, since you were here... "Eiji, are ya hungry?"
He didn't even bother to look up from the phone in his hands, just shot you a look with those crimson eyes. "Yeah. I know. Dumb question." Eijiro could always eat.
He'd offered to drive now that he was done on his phone and you had bags of food to be eaten but you shook your head, "I'm good. Thanks though." So, instead, he settled for setting the food out so it was easier for you to grab. Making sure napkins were in reach while you zipped alone the roads you once knew so well.
The GPS assumed you'd be arriving just after two in the morning if the roads weren't horrible that is but you wouldn't know that until you got closer to the national forest you had to drive through to get to the lodge. Though, when you checked the weather before landing, everything looked pretty mild.
"So, I was meaning to ask, what's our story going into this?"
"What do you mean?"
"Y'know, like, us, what did you tell your mother we are?"
"Oh..." You had to think about it for a moment before realizing, "I never told my mother what we were. I just referred to you as my plus one.
"You didn't call me your boyfriend or anything?"
A smile slid onto your face, "No, I didn't. I didn't want to put you in that kind of a position. I guess I just assumed if we did end up going together I would have just introduced you as my friend because that's what you are, right?"
"Of course! I just know slip-ups can happen and I didn't know if I needed to, well, be boyfriend-like."
You considered pointing out to him how you'd both been toeing that relationship line for the last ten hours but that would lead to discussions and discussions weren't supposed to be had until Sunday. Even if the more you were with him, now that things were in the open, you couldn't deny that him acting boyfriend-like, that you liked it. A lot.
"What if you're my date?"
"I am your date."
"Obviously but, what if we treated it... like a... real date?"
Eijiro shook his head and your heart sank but he quickly put his hand on your thigh. "I'm not going to have our first date, a real date, with you being a nervous wreck and stuck in a place with a bunch of people you can't stand." He was making a lot of sense, "But, I do wanna go out with you. I'd just like to make that very clear. No confusion about that. We can talk about the finer points of that on Sunday though."
Sunday was going to take forever.
Ultimately, it was decided that you'd introduce him to your family as a friend, not wanting to jump any guns, it seemed like the safer option. They already assumed enough things about you, if they wanted to assume there was something more between you and Eijiro, well, let'em.
The moonlight illuminated the road ahead of you, reflecting off the snow that lay upon the trees and mountainside. You were lucky, there was only a slight dusting of snow on the road and the temperature was just above freezing for the time being. Now, if it could just stay that way.
>>><<<
Your family had been coming to the area for years, so you knew it well but this particular resort lodge was new to you, in fact, it looked new in general. Beautiful all the same. The place was ginormous though you didn't have a problem finding the entrance.
Signs led your right to a valet, greeting you warmly with a large smile despite the hour. You handed over the keys along with your information while Eijiro grabbed your belongings.
The inside was just as gorgeous as the exterior, grey stone with beautiful wood accents continued to be the theme inside as well. High ceilings made the place look grand and the crackling fire in the stone fireplace at the center of it all added a sort of welcoming appeal.
You couldn't see anyone at the front desk, not that that was surprising, but there was a bell in view.
"Y/N?"
You whirled around, wondering who in the hell could be up at two in the morning that would know you but the second your eyes fell on them it made complete sense. "No way! It is you!" They sprung up off one of the many leather sofas, the book they'd been reading suddenly abandoned.
You dropped your bag as they launched themselves into your arms. "Auntie said you were coming but I didn't believe her! I'm so glad I was wrong!"
You hugged them tightly, it'd been five years since you'd seen your baby cousin in person even though you spoke to them almost weekly.
"Kirishima, I'd like you to meet one of the two amazing people in my family, this is my little cousin Avery. They're also-"
"Holy crap!" Avery looked over your shoulder right at Eijiro, "You're Red Riot!"
"They've collected about as much information on heroes as Izuku has."
They took you by the shoulders shaking them slightly, "You're dating Red Riot and didn't tell me! I knew you guys were friends but I didn't know he was your boyfriend!"
"Okay, Avey. hang on," You set them back on the ground, "No, no, I, we are not dating."
"Then why's he here?"
"Because he's my plus one."
"So, he's your date?"
"Yes."
"So, you're dating."
Hell, were you this persistent as a preteen? You really couldn't remember but you sure as hell didn't think so!
Meanwhile, Eijiro was trying to stifle a laugh at the third degree you were receiving, leaning down to remind you, "What was that you said about your family thinking what they wanted to?"
"Why are you awake, anyway? Does your mother know you're down here?"
"New medication, it's been making me hyper at night. And yeah, she knows, she needed her beauty rest though and me flicking my pages was making that, 'utterly impossible!'" They dramatically flung their arm over their eyes for effect, faking a faint.
"Ah. I see it runs in the family." Eijiro chuckled, poking at your own flair for mockery of your relatives.
You pulled Avery out of their backbend. "I'm afraid I might be guilty of teaching them a bad habit or two."
Avery hugged your waist. "You taught me how to handle them so I wouldn't rip my hair out of my skull. She got me into counseling too, set up online meetings for me before mom let me go. Y/N is the best cousin I could ask for. You should know how lucky you are to have her as a girlfriend."
"She's not my girlfriend." Eijiro corrected with a grin and Avery looked disappointed that he didn't walk into their trap, get him to admit it rather than you. "She is pretty great though, I'll give ya that."
"Do you want me to stay up with you?"
They shook their head, "No thanks! I know what to do if anyone tries taking me."
Eijiro raised a concerned brow. "Avery's sister was kidnapped during their father's court case and held for ransom as a child, twice. Therefore Avery had to learn from a very young age how to defend themselves, isn't that right?"
Your cousin got a wicked grin, "Wanna see?"
"Not inside," You scolded, "I know neither of us really want to be here but we shouldn't go getting kicked out."
Reluctantly, Avery agreed. They stood by you and Eijiro while you checked in. You needed to get a room for the night since your mother didn't expect you until tomorrow. "I'm sorry," The attendant said while typing away, "Because of a convention and two weddings, I only have the penthouse available this evening. I assure you, you both will have rooms for tomorrow though and there are other resorts in the area if you'd like me to call..."
"The penthouse sounds great." Eijiro slid a card across the counter to her.
"Oh! Fantastic! I'll just need your- wait," It happened less frequently in other countries but sometimes he was still noticed, much like Avery had done, "Kirishima? Are you related Hisa?"
"I am, she's one of my mothers."
The woman smiled. "I met your her when she came to see the project after it was completed. Such a lovely woman! How great it is her son is staying at one of the resorts she designed!"
You shot Eijiro a look but he just gave the smallest of shrugs. "Well, I do hope you enjoy your stay and please, let us know if there's anything we can do to make it more enjoyable. The code for the penthouse is written just above where your room keys are. You'll need to put the key in the elevator and then enter the code"
"Can I come up and see it tomorrow!" Avery was practically bouncing in the elevator.
"Why not now?" Eijiro grinned while you just stared at him punching in the code and ushering Avery out of the elevator when the doors opened "After you."
"I didn't even know so don't give me that look." He told you when they were out of earshot. "Mom told me she had a couple projects in America when I mentioned maybe going with you but I didn't think anything of it. She's done projects all over the world, I kinda just glaze over them now."
Honestly, it really shouldn't surprise you at this point.
"This is better than the stupid honeymoon suite!" Avery ran by the hallway again. "Caro is gonna be so mad! HA! She didn't even wanna look at the penthouse because there was no way it could be better than the honeymoon suite! She was so wrong!"
Now, you had no idea what the honeymoon suite looked like but this... this penthouse, wow. Just the living room was bigger than your apartment! It had a full kitchen with marble countertops. Long leather sofas with big knitted blankets and some of the fluffiest pillows you've seen in your life. Natural wood furniture made up the end and coffee tables as well as the mantel of the fireplace above which hung a massive television.
Two high back chairs covered in royal blue fabric faced a patio with a... hot tub? Yeah, yeah it wasn't enough that your balcony had a gorgeous view of the mountains. It also had a very inviting hot tub, as well as a patio set that you would happily enjoy if it wasn't so cold.
"Your mother doesn't hold back, does she?"
"You've been to my house. What do you think?"
Eijiro wandered, calling out that he found a game room and a spare bedroom but it was the giggling that had you both racing up to the loft above. He pushed open the door to the master bedroom and while Eijiro stopped to gawk at the massive bed, you followed the laughter into the bathroom.
Inside the jacuzzi tub laid your cousin, "I can fit like five of me in here! Who needs a bathtub this big!" Eijiro walked in, "Well, he might, I guess."

Do I mind if I ask how you approach writing longer fic? I've always struggled to write anything more than maybe two chapters long and I'm curious if you have a particular method to how you approach such stories.
Thank you so much for this ask! I absolutely love it when people ask me for writing advice because it makes me feel like a Smart Person Who Knows Things.
Before we start, here is one grain of salt to take all of this with: I have a naturally long-form brain. It is very hard for me to write something less than 1k. Short fiction is great, and there is nothing wrong with sticking to short things if that's what your brain likes to do.
So. You have decided to write a story. This is going to focus on "stories". Some people write fic that's more freeform or whatever, I am not going to cover that. What I mean by a story is this:
It starts
Some stuff happens
It ends
It is highly probable that your story contains a change of state, which could be that a villain is defeated, or a goal is reached, but it could also be that character falls in love with another, or someone learns to like broccoli.
I like to start out by completing the sentence, "This is a story where _______". This is basically like coming up with a summary for an ao3 post, except that it doesn't need to be catchy. Lots of different kinds of things could go in that blank! It could literally be what happens: This is a story where Ichigo goes back in time and punches young Aizen in the nose. It could be about what you want to explore: This is a story where Hitsugaya gets a better understanding of his zanpakutou. It could be about the vibe you want to achieve: This is an AU where everyone is in a punk rock band and has cool hair and outfits. The idea of this is to clearly define what you, the author, is interested in writing. Make sure it feels right! Maybe you pick the first one, but when you say it out loud, you say, "You know, I really just want Ichigo to go back in time so he can horse around with young Renji and Rukia and punching Aizen in the nose is just an excuse for that." That may sound dumb, but it's fine, actually! Most people don't read stories strictly for the plot, they read stories for the implications of those plots! Will my favorite two characters kiss? Will there be funny interactions between these two groups of characters? Will there be sick fights? Stories are excuses to have scenes. Sometimes, you will have a story where the interesting sequence of events is the draw, but the point is to know what you're about.
Once you feel happy with your "mission statement", you need to decide the bounds of your story: where it starts and where it ends. It may be easier to start with the end. In some cases, it may be obvious from your mission statement: everyone gets home, a villain is defeated, Kenpachi realizes the meaning of friendship. On the other hand, let's look at that punk rock AU. You've picked a vibe, but you don't really have a natural story arc. It has to have a destination, though, otherwise, it's not really a story, it's a recipe for 3 chapters of an abandoned fanfic. So brainstorm a little: Maybe they get a record deal? Maybe they win a Battle of the Bands? Maybe Byakuya accepts that the band is actually good and tells Rukia he is proud of her. Do not settle for a plot just because it works. Pick something that makes you excited! You're the one who is gonna have to write it!
I said that we needed to pick a beginning point, too, but I'm actually going to skip that for now. The next thing I do is think of all the Big Scenes I want to write, the ones you are hype to write, the ones that pop in your head as you think about the premise. Make a bullet list. They don't need to be in order. The descriptions don't need to be super detailed, but write down anything about it that is important to you. If there's a mood or a snippet of dialogue or a joke you want to make, go ahead and jot that down so you don't forget it later. What you're doing now is putting broad blotches of color on a canvas, filling in space and leaving the detail for later.
Once you are pretty happy with what you have down, try to arrange it in chronological order. Put your end at the end (if it wasn't one of your big scenes, add it now). The next task is figuring out how to traverse your scenes. You've already picked out where you want to spend the majority of your energy. The rest, I regret to tell you, is your slog writing. Now, it often happens that you will find joy in some of these scenes and your best writing may occur there, but that's serendipity. These are the scenes that you are gonna have to make yourself sit down and write, so you honestly want to limit them to just the ones you need.
So how do we do this? Look at the first thing on the list. Can you start there? If so, congrats, that's your beginning. If you can't, what needs to happen to get to there? Where can you start so that you can get to your first fun scene as soon as possible? There. That’s it. You’ve picked your beginning, good job! Now, go through the rest of your list, and add in things that must happen, even if you don’t particularly look forward to writing them. The characters need to travel from geographic point A to point B. Shuuhei needs to say something that Izuru hears and misinterprets. The Central 46 makes a new law. If you have a good idea of how these things happen, go ahead and write them down, but it’s okay if you don’t know yet. Fill in all the blanks so that if you think of each bullet list as a scene, you could read it as a story, start to end. Once you get writing, you might add more scenes, or move things around or whatever, but you should have a thing that functions as a story.
If you struggle with this, an alternative is a story with a very strong structure that is going to guide you though what you have to write. Here are two examples from my own stories Hold On, Hold On (which is only one chapter, but the principle is the same) is structured around the 5 stages of grief. Not Broken, Just Bent takes place over roughly a week, and I just decided what happened every day of the week. See You on the Other Side takes place in the middle of a bunch of canon events, which worked at mile markers.
Congratulations. You’ve just made a rough outline!
Special note for avoiding burnout!: I am a slogger. I will drag myself through the broken glass of an interminable plot to get to a single thirsty scene. That's why, at this stage, I try to look at the ratio of what I want to write to what I must write. It's gonna vary for everyone, but this is a hobby, and if looking at this proto-outline makes you feel deeply tired, maybe this isn't a good story to be devoting your time to! Can you carve it down? Can you chuck two scenes you really want to write and get rid of 80% of the slog? Or maybe you can't! In that case, just write that thirsty scene as a standalone drabble! Or just go work on something else! Maybe in the future, this one will come back to you and you’ll have a fresh idea or a renewed enthusiasm for it.
Another thing I sometimes like to do at this point is to write out some notes about my characters and their motivations and moods. Character A is homesick. Character B is so determined to defeat the enemy that they are having a hard time being sympathetic to Character A. Character C cares for both A and B and is trying to support them both. This is sort of background info that you want to keep in your head as you are writing. Depending on the type of story you are writing, this might actually be the main plot, or it might be happening subtly, but adding to the emotional impact of the story. It’s very easy for me to write these sorts of emotional arcs, but if you struggle with that, you may wish to go ahead and made a more detailed outline for that, too.
Now, it’s time to start writing! I am great at beginnings-- it is very often the case for me that the opening scene was one of my Big Tentpole Scenes. (Before you hate me too much, I make up for this by being double horrible at endings; just let me have this) Usually, I will start at the beginning and write linearly for as long as I can until I get stuck. Then, I will look forward on my outline and do the next chronological scene that I feel like writing. In general, if I sit down to write and there is something I have an urge to write, that trumps everything else. Inspiration is a precious commodity, and you should embrace it when it hits! You can slog any day. I will occasionally hold off writing a scene that I really want to, because I am saving it, like a prize for myself for getting that far. This is a very personal process of figuring out what motivates your brain and then giving your brain what it needs to be its most productive.
Eventually, you will run out of things you are excited to write, but the good news is, you’ve got a bunch of story now! Odds are that what’s left is going to be a lot of those connective tissue scenes, and you’re just going to have to do them, except that now, because you’re connecting two concrete points instead of two abstract points, it will be a lot easier. You can continue running jokes you’ve started. Maybe you invented a cafe in an earlier scene where your characters hang out and you can have them return there. Try to think of ways to make these scenes more fun, both for yourself to write and for your reader to read.
Around this time, I like to start refining that rough strokes outline into what I will call an “as-built” outline. (This is an engineering term where you update your plans or models for something to reflect any changes that had to be made along the way). This is a great activity to do at times when you feel like you have writers block. I write down every scene I have written as a 2-3 word blurb, in order. I break the scenes into what I think makes logical chapters, and I will do a word count on those prospective chapters and write it down. As you do this, you will realize that maybe you can move a scene from here to there, which will make it 1000% easier to write. Things may be happening too much, or you’ve got the characters eating three times in the same chapter. If you have subplots and dangling threads, this is where you make sure they get closure. I know this sounds very headache-y, but you are so far along in the story at this point that it’s really not-- it’s a way to look at the problems you have left. Use some sort of formatting (I like to bold things I haven’t done and sometimes I put them in red) and it gives you a very visual to-do list.
You specifically mentioned multi-chapter fanfics and I admit that I don’t tend to think in chapters, I tend to think of the story as a whole and just break it up where it feels natural. The as-built outlining I described is very helpful in making sure that my chapters feel balanced. They don’t necessarily need to be the same length, but I like them to have the same amount of stuff in them. One chapter may basically contain one long scene, and other may contain many short ones. I don’t tend to, but you can certainly have a fanfic that varies between short and long chapters, that can actually be an interesting effect. But like I said, I always like to know what I am doing, and so having it mapped out, you can say “welp, this is what I’ve done, how do I feel about that?”
Polynya, you may be saying at this point, do you write the whole fanfic before you post any of it? and I regret to inform you, the answer is yes. A lot of people write as they go, and I have made one attempt at this and I didn’t like it. I don’t like locking myself in, I just need to be able write out of order and go back and change things. Here is the story of a little in love: someone gave me an AU prompt and I got mildly obsessed with it, and wrote 5 snapshots drabbles in that universe, ending with a slight cliffhanger ending. I probably should have stopped there, but I decided to keep going. I wrote out an outline of 5 acts where the first act was detailed to the degree of each chapter being specified. The chapters here were much smaller than I usually make chapters: 1-2k. I wrote act i and ii and it was actually great, and then I hit act iii which required a lot of set up for misunderstandings and a mini romance arc. I couldn’t wing it, but nor could I figure it all out with outlining. I write dialogue in almost sort of an improv “Yes, and...?” style, so until I do it, I don’t know what’s going to happen. So, what I did was treat the second half of act iii as a complete story in the process I describe above, wrote the entire rest of it, and then posted it. One might notice that the chapter lengths grew to 3-5k each. I have two more acts to go, and I haven’t decided how I am going to do them yet, but I suspect I will treat each of them as their own mini-stories.
(I will admit that in Heart is a Muscle, I tend toward chapters that are about 10k long, and this is honestly too long, someone should smack me. If you like punchy chapters, 1-2k is good. I think 3-6k is probably an ideal chapter length. Is this how long the chapters are in my latest fanfic? Absolutely not.)
Okay, so there’s one more step, which is quality control. I am habitual re-reader-- I read my fanfics-in-progress over and over and over while I am working on them. I understand that not everyone does this, but I am usually the primary audience for my own writing, and this is the actual fun part for me. Nevertheless, you should re-read your work at least once, to make sure it hangs together.
This is purely optional, but I recommend it: get a writing friend (if you don’t like re-reading your work, I recommend this even more strongly). If you can get a full-service beta reader, that’s great, but if you can’t find someone, or if receiving that level of critique stresses you out, it’s perfectly valid to just find a friend who will read your stuff and a) shower you with compliments, b) reassure you about parts you aren’t sure about (or suggest ways to help) and c) point out any huge problems you missed. When I am writing a long fanfic, it is a huge motivational factor for me to be able to send my beta chapters as I finish them. If you are already an established writer, and you have people who consistently comment on your fic, they might be overjoyed to get a sneak peak at your work.
And that’s it! That’s the way I do it, anyway! Some people are able to sit down and write a very detailed outline and the write it start-to-finish. Good for them, I say! I have tried this and it doesn’t work great for me. I will admit that some of my fics (especially my early ones) I just sat down and banged out whole-cloth like an insane person and they are generally better than the ones I actually plan out, but that’s not a reproducible process.
As one final mechanical note, I usually write in Google Docs, which I can access on multiple devices (I used to write a lot on my phone), has convenient sharing functionality, and I use the ao3 html formatting script add-in. I generally have two documents for a single story-- one is the outline, and any other notes I want to have handy. I’ll usually put a trashcan space at the bottom for scenes that got cut but I don’t want to lose. The other is the fanfic itself.
I hope this is helpful! Please feel free to follow up with other questions and good luck with your writing!

The Break of Dawn (Leo Barnes x f!Reader)
You work in a small diner not far from the bus station and try to get over a tragic event that happened to you three years ago. Leo Barnes is one of the steady customers, and at some point you realize there's mutual attraction between the two of you. There's no time for romance though - only one night left before the annual Purge, and Leo has an important job to keep Senator Roan safe as it's the only chance to finally put an end to the Purge.
Words: 3 656
Warnings: Sexual content (not super detailed, I would rate this story as Mature rather than Explicit, but still they f*ck), a bit of angst (trigger warning: loss), but Leo is a caring and protective guy who’s ready to hold you
A/N: My first time writing Leo Barnes or any Frank Grillo character, so please don't be mean :))

“There he is.”
Stella pokes you with her elbow.
“What?”
“Your tough guy. He’s here,” she nods to the corner of the diner and you don’t even need to follow her gesture to know that Leo Barnes is sitting there, his usual spot. He’s a bit early today, and it’s understandable - you too find it harder to sleep well as the Purge is getting closer.
“He’s not my tough guy, Stells,” you roll your eyes.
“Oh yeah? Tell it to someone else,” she snorts. “So far I’m just wondering how long you’re gonna keep ignoring that sexual tension…”
“Stella, please.”
“What? Honestly, I don’t know why he’s being such a gentleman… But just FYI, y/n… You know it’s not the 19th century and you actually can make the first move?”
“Even if I wanted to, it’s not the right time,” you shrug. “You know he’s doing an important job. He’s got plenty of stuff to think about and it’s definitely not romance.”
“Who’s talking about romance, sis?” Stella laughs. “You’re both so goddamn tense, you need to blow off some steam. No, seriously. You need to get laid. He needs to get laid. It’s just way too obvious!”
“Oh dear god, just please shut up…” you groan.
“Fine,” she gives you a wicked smirk. “If you don’t want him, then I’m bringing his order.”
You chuckle at this.
“Don’t you dare.”
To be completely honest, you can’t deny that Stella is partly right. There is something between you and this grumpy silent man in the corner. But what exactly? You can’t really put it into words, it’s not just the attraction, or sexual tension as Stella says. You do find him handsome though, you admit that. A couple of times when he was wearing a t-shirt, you caught yourself staring at his muscular arms. Yes, guilty. And still… There’s more than that. You’d call it some sort of mutual understanding.
Leo Barnes works for Senator Roan. In the past, he used to be a cop, now he is the head of security for her. You learnt that one night when he was here, having his usual late dinner. The TV was on, evening news, something about the election of course. And suddenly you noticed him there, standing behind Roan’s back with another guy in a formal dark suit. You blinked, stared at the screen, then looked back at him. He caught your glance.
“Is that… you?” you blurted, realizing too late that you said it out loud. But he smiled, and in his smile there was no anger or annoyance.
“Apparently so,” he replied with a soft chuckle and ran his fingers through his dark hair. “How do I look?”
You started talking ever since then. Barnes usually came to the diner twice - in the morning he just had a mug of black coffee, and in the evening he ordered something to eat. Mornings were often crowded as many people passed the diner before heading to work in the city, so you were busy. But the evenings were mostly quiet.
You often stayed at work late, covering Stella who had to run to her kids or another date. You didn’t mind that since work was always your way to escape. Nobody was waiting for you at home anyways. Somehow, Leo Barnes started to keep you company. He wasn’t much of a talker and you were never into heartfelt conversations with the clients here, but something just clicked. Especially after you learnt about his job and it became clear that your views on the Purge are the same.
Many people hate The Purge, as well as many people support it. Some people hate it because they’re scared for their loved ones, their business (small shop owners who don’t have enough money to afford the Purge insurance often suffer), or they hate it just because they’re against violence in general. And the others… They have more personal reasons. You’re one of them. And somehow, even if you don’t know for sure, you just feel like Leo Barnes has personal reasons as well. He never really told you, and you don’t dare to ask because you know well enough how the memories can hurt. You didn’t tell him either. But still, you don’t know how exactly it worked, you just looked at each other and saw it. It’s like an unspoken secret between the two of you. The details don’t matter anyway. Your stories are in the past and you can’t change it, but what you can change is the future. If Senator Charlene Roan wins the election - the Purge will finally end. You can help with your vote, and Leo… Leo is determined to do anything to help her survive this year. Just this year, and hopefully no one would ever have to survive this nightmare again. You both want it more than anything else.
  “Hey.”
You smile at Leo as you place a mug of coffee and a plate on the table in front of him.
“Hey…” he looks confused when he sees the food. Nothing really special: eggs, bacon, some beans and a toast. “What’s that? I... only asked for the usual…”
“Just thought you might need some extra fuel,” you shug. “Only one night left before the Purge, so… you must have a lot of work to do.”
“Yeah, you’re right… I actually do,” he gives you a tired smile. “Thank you.”
“Welcome,” you nod and turn to leave, but Leo suddenly touches your arm and you freeze.
“Y/n?”
“Yeah?” you face him again.
“Do you work tomorrow?”
“Yes… Why are you asking?..” you give him a puzzled look.
“Well uh… To be honest I’d be happier if you took a day off… You know, just to make sure you’re safe…”
You feel the heat on your cheeks. Does… does he worry about you?.. The realization makes your heart shrink for a second. Apparently he’s not just someone who understands, he’s someone who cares. You already forgot what it feels like when someone really cares. Well, of course there are your parents, but they’re far away… And Leo, he’s right here.
“It’s okay,” you say, trying not to look too baffled. “Tomorrow we’re closing the diner earlier, right after lunchtime, so I’ll be home long before the Purge begins. There’s no need to worry, really.”
“Good,” Barnes nods. “I just… don’t think I’ll be able to come over and check on you tomorrow, so I just…” he stutters as if trying to figure out something to say.
“I just want you to be careful, okay?” he finally utters, and to your surprise his hand reaches yours, squeezing it lightly. “Just be careful, yeah?”
“Yeah, I... Of course I will,” you try to smile reassuringly. “I promise.”
  *
There’s about five minutes left before closing hour when Leo appears. As usual, you’re still here, helping Mary, the chief and the owner’s wife with all the cleaning up after the working day. While she’s in the kitchen, you wipe the tables, TV-set is murmuring something in the corner. The election, the purge… Always the same.
“You’re closed?” he asks, meeting your gaze. “Sorry, I… Didn’t realize it’s that late already…”
“We’re about to close, but it’s fine, come in!” you assure smiling at him maybe a bit more brightly than you wanted to show. “We’ll get you something to eat, right, Mary?”
“Sure thing,” she replies from the kitchen door. You weren’t the only one who saw Barnes on TV. Since then, he became an always welcome guest as the diner owners supported Roan as well. Otherwise, to be honest you don’t think you could possibly be able to work for them.
You put a plate with food in front Leo as he takes a seat at the counter. While he’s eating silently, you wipe the coffee mugs and place them carefully on the shelf. The TV keeps talking. Something about the bloomimg economy and international murder tourists who keep coming to the US to take part in the annual Purge. You glance at the screen, see their gut-wrenchingly excited faces.
“Jesus Christ,” you mutter under your breath and shake your head. “Fucking insane.”
“True,” you nearly jump at his words, as you didn’t realize Leo heard you. “I knew people who killed someone on Purge night for… different reasons. But those who kill just because they enjoy it, for fun or sport or whatever you call it - those are the most dangerous.”
“They’re just psychopaths. People like that should be kept in mental hospitals or something. But they just walk around as if nothing’s wrong with them. And the new founding fathers keep telling them how proud they are of them…”
“Roan’s gonna make it stop,” Mary joins the conversation. “This lady’s got some balls, am I right, sir?”
“Yes ma’am,” Barnes chuckles. “She absolutely got them.”
You leave the diner together with Leo. Mary chose to stay inside, waiting for her husband to come pick her up in a few minutes. The night is a bit chilly; you’re shivering, not sure if it’s the cold or the fact that you’re alone with him for the first time.
“Where’s your car?” he asks.
“Oh um… It’s in the service actually. So I’m going to the bus station right over there,” you point. Barnes frowns.
“What about tomorrow?”
“Stella promised to give me a ride home. Leo… I’ll be okay. It’s not the first Purge night in my life, you know.”
“Right,” he clears his throat. “Anyway, since I’m here I can drive you home.”
“You… sure it’s okay?” your voice betrays you a little. “I mean you must be tired…”
“I’m okay,” he assures, then nods at his car. “Come on. I insist.”
“Okay,” you hear yourself saying.
  *
You’re mostly silent on the way. You feel a bit tense, but also kinda… weirdly excited to be in this car, next to him. Damn. Is Stella right, and you’re actually into him? Definitely so. But after all these years you almost completely forgot how it feels - to be into someone or how the relationships work. As if you’re a teenager again. Leo Barnes is the first man who actually made you think of something close to romantic longing since… That night.
“It’s here?” he asks as you reach your house. You nod, and he pulls over. You wait for him to say something, to tell you goodnight maybe, but he doesn’t. Without the sound of the car engine, the silence between you becomes even more awkward. You open your mouth to say goodbye to him, but instead different words suddenly come out.
“Leo, I…”
He looks at you intently. You stare down at your knees.
“Yeah?”
“I just… The fact that you worry about me - it’s very nice of you, really. And… I just wanted you to know that I worry about you too. I worry about you a lot actually…”
“Y/n…” his voice is quiet as he brings his hand to your face, gently urging you to look up at him. His eyes look darker than usual in the dim light of the street lamp nearby. You think if it’s possible to drown in someone’s eyes you’d already be gone.
“I’ll be fine, okay?” he says softly. “It’s gonna be a tough night for sure, but I’ll be fine, I have to be fine. You gotta trust me on this. You trust me?”
“Yes,” you barely whisper, unable to take your eyes from his, and when the tension becomes almost unbearable, his lips finally crush on yours.
You both expected and didn’t expect it, didn’t dare to admit even to yourself how much you really wanted it. Your breath hitches somewhere in your throat as you kiss him back eagerly, forgetting about everything and everyone for this moment that lasts so long and so painfully short at once. You’re both panting as your lips part, foreheads pressed together.
“I… I think I should go,” you mumble as a rush of panic suddenly overwhelms you.
“Yeah… Yeah…” he nods. “You should get some rest.”
“You too.”
You squeeze his hand for a second. Gosh, you didn’t even realize your hand was on his all this time.
“Good night,” you finally murmur, bracing yourself to get out of the car. You feel like something else needs to be said, but can’t really figure out what.
  *
You enter the house and just lean against the door, heart hammering wildly inside your chest. You close your eyes and try to catch your breath. What the hell just happened? And why are you reacting like that? There’s nothing wrong about this kiss. You’re two single adults… Well, probably single. Leo doesn’t wear a ring, so… Damn it, you really got out of practice when it comes to relationships.
A knock on the door made your eyes snap open. As if in a daze, you slowly turn and reach the door handle, already knowing who you’re going to see.
Leo doesn’t say anything. And you can’t read the expression in his eyes, or you simply don’t have time for it, because the next moment he steps inside, his hands cup your cheeks and he kisses you with such longing and desperation it nearly kicks the breath out of your lungs. You don’t know what you’re doing any more, but your fingers are already in his dark hair, scratching the nape of his neck while his lips and tongue keep attacking your mouth. It feels like shockwaves running through your body, and for the first time in years you feel just so alive. All this time your feelings, passions and emotions were asleep, everything around you seemed pale and lifeless as if someone turned down the contrast, but something changed. Not right now, not in the snap of a finger, of course; it happened gradually. Something kept changing deep within you since the very first time your eyes met, and now - you’re finally ready to feel something. To let him in.
You don't think about it though. Or about anything else, to be honest. All you can focus on is what his lips are doing to you, how hot his breath is and how weirdly nice his stubble feels against your skin. Leo’s coat falls on the floor. His big hands seize your waist as he lifts you up, causing you to grip onto his broad shoulders. Pressing you against the nearest wall, he nuzzles into the crook of your neck, the kisses are sloppy, open-mouthed, and you can't suppress a soft moan. He's big and strong, you feel small underneath him, but you like it.
You can’t even remember clearly how you finally reached the bedroom, frantically helping each other to get rid of the clothes. When you tumble down and he hovers over you, the skin to skin contact is overwhelming. He brushes your hair away from your flushed face, kisses you with sudden tenderness. The look in his hazel eyes is warm yet still full of passion as you cup his cheek and he presses his lips to your palm. An affectionate gesture that makes your heart skip a beat, but you both are too impatient to be soft right now. So he leans in, kissing you harder this time, grunting against your mouth when you pull him closer, craving as much of him as possible. You can feel him twitching against your lower belly as you wrap your legs around him, eager to get more pressure. He’s not even inside you yet, but it already feels so good you can’t help bucking your hips, earning a low groan from him at the friction. His lips trail along your jawline, down to the side of your neck, where he kisses and nibbles, and you just know there’s gonna be marks tomorrow, but damn, you can’t care less.
When he finally enters you and starts moving, you’re almost delirious. Clinging to him, you gasp and whisper his name into his skin, feel the muscles on his back tense as he thrusts deeper. The wave of bliss hits you so hard your vision turns blurry and for a few seconds it feels like you’re not there.
  *
Reality comes back to you slowly, with all the dark and troubled thoughts you can’t escape. Leo is lying next to you with his eyes closed, breathing evenly, so you think he must be asleep. Good for him. Carefully, you slip out of the bed to get a glass of water. It doesn’t help you to get rid of the lump in your throat though. Back to the bedroom, you sit on the edge of the bed and let out a deep sigh, trying to fight back tears. Too many emotions for one night.
“Y/n.”
Leo’s voice doesn’t even seem sleepy. You can feel him shifting in bed to reach you, the warmth of his calloused hand stroking your back soothingly.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, uh…” You shake your head, bringing your hand to rub your eyes. “I’m good. It’s just… It’s been a while since I… You know…”
“I know. It’s been a while for me as well.”
“I lost my boyfriend three years ago,” you blurt out, surprising yourself that you said it out loud. “During the Purge night. He um… He was a medical student. We lived in an apartment building and we heard someone crying for help. I wanted to stop him but he just couldn’t ignore someone who needed help, you know. He got shot accidentally, right into his head. There was no chance to save him.”
Leo’s hand gently squeezes your shoulder.
“Sorry, I… Don’t even know why I’m telling you this. I’ve never talked about him since the funeral…”
“It’s okay,” he moves closer, pressing a kiss against your shoulder blade.
“I was so angry at first, you know,” now that you start talking you seemingly cannot stop. “I wished I could find and kill them. But then I thought he wouldn’t want me to become a murderer...”
He presses his forehead against the back of your head for a moment. “I know how you feel, y/n.”
You finally turn to meet his gaze.
“I lost my son. I know what this anger feels like. Two years ago all I was thinking about on the Purge night was revenge. I was determined, almost obsessed.”
“Did… you do it?”
“No. I was close to it. Very close. But… One wise person made me realize that it wouldn’t help. Violence only brings more violence.”
“It has to be stopped,” you whisper.
“Yes,” he nods. “That’s why I left the police. Cops have to stay away from the Purge. I couldn’t any more. At least now I know I'm doing the right thing.”
“Right… Just… I’m just scared of losing you too,” you say very quietly, but he hears you anyway. His strong arms wrap around your body, pulling you closer, enclosing into his warmth. Making you feel safe.
“Hey, hey...” He whispers into your hair as he nuzzles into the top of your head. “It’s not gonna happen, you hear me? Everything’s gonna be alright. I promise.”
  *
You have no doubt your colleagues noticed who drove you to work this morning. But today no one is in the mood for comments, not even Stella. Even though the work goes on as usual, there’s still this tension in the air before the Purge night.
Through the window you can see a bunch of guys gathered around the car with an open trunk full of baseball bats and other stuff you can’t discern. The owner proudly shows off his stuff, other guys laugh, they look pretty chill and relaxed, and your stomach nearly twists at the sight.
  *
All night you could barely sleep a wink. A knock on the door drags you out of troubled slumber. At first you’re not even sure if you really heard it or it was in your dream. But the sounds repeat and you jump off the bed and without even caring to slip something over the huge t-shirt you sleep in. Barefoot, you rush to the door, open it with shaky hands.
He looks so exhausted it seems like he can barely stand. The collar of his shirt that used to be white is now stained with blood. And yet… He’s smiling.
“Leo!..” you gasp, stepping towards him and bringing your hand to his stubbly cheek. “Oh my god, are you… Everything okay?..”
“I’m great,” he breathes out huskily, and his smile slowly turns into a wide grin. “We did it, baby.”
You don’t even try to hold back tears as you fall into his arms, bury your face into his chest. He smells a bit like sweat and blood, but you absolutely don’t care. “I’m so glad you’re here,” you mumble into his ruined shirt. “I’m here,” he whispers back, stroking your hair. Then you realize the two of you are still standing at the porch.
“Alright,” you say, drawing back a little. “Let’s get you in, you need some rest… And you’re probably hungry too… And you definitely need a shower…”
“Wait, y/n. Let’s just… Stay here for a bit? I think we both need to catch a breath,” he chuckles crookedly, reaching out to wipe a tear from your cheek. You smile back.
“Okay.”
Sitting on the porch with your head on Leo’s shoulder, his arm wrapped around your frame, you watch the sky becoming lighter and lighter as the dawn breaks. You can hear the sounds of sirens in the distance. The city’s slowly getting back to life, waking up after another nightmare.
You both know it’s not the end, the war isn’t won yet, but at least you won this very important battle. And for the first time in what seems like ages you have a good feeling about the future.

Thanks for reading!
Hugs, Lucy

Eventually the Hermits get their hands on the one shulker box. They give it back a day later, filled with goodies as an apology for stealing, because they just needed it briefly so Doc could set up a shulker box duplicator.
(2/2) To expand on the shulker box ask I sent: It's cheating. They know it's cheating. They debate for a while over wether or not they should build it. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and dammit they need shulkers. Mules and Llamas can only get them so far.
---
(this takes place before the fic where puffy finds zedaph.)
---
The Hermits put up with mule highways and caravans of spitting llamas because they think they have no choice. At least one person complains about the lack of sophisticated storage transportation daily. Mumbo tries to create a system which will ferry items between bases, but it turns out to be more of a Rube Goldberg machine than anything, considering the items only travel at the speed of the water which carries them. Zedaph creates an actual Rube Goldberg machine for item transportation, but the only people who use it are himself and his neighbors, Impulse, False, and Tango. It’s more for prank transportation and snail mail anyway.
Things change when Stress, on a covert surface run, comes a bit too close to other humans on accident and catches sight of a blond man in a hoodie furtively checking his surroundings. Stress immediately does as she’s been trained, hiding herself behind tree cover and checking how long her invisibility potion will be in effect for. It says four minutes. As long as he leaves soon, she won’t have an issue.
The man surveys the muddy clearing with a keen eye, keeping watch for any evildoing interlopers. He places down an Ender chest, reaches his hands into it, then looks around once again to make sure no one’s there. Stress’s heart beats like a drum-- not the style of drums she usually plays, but rather the percussion of one of Xisuma’s favorite black metal bands. As the man’s gaze passes right over her, she feels the machine gun fire of her heart against her chest peak, breath catching in her throat.
He doesn’t see her. Quickly, he pulls something out of the Ender chest. A shulker box!
Stress’s breath stops for an entirely different reason. The things the Hermits could do with even one shulker box..! Item dupers are a thing, right? If anyone knows how to make an item duplication machine, it would be Doc. And a shulker box might be useful for an item duping machine!
She’s getting ahead of herself. Should she steal from this person? Can she steal from this person? Even disregarding the moral dilemma, the members of the Dream SMP are fighters through and through. She’s got the advantage of surprise because she’s invisible and this man doesn’t know she’s here, but how long will that last? Even if she manages to take it, what if the blond man (Punz, she thinks is his name) kills her and takes the shulker box back from her?
As Stress weighs the risks and the rewards, she knows she’s running out of time. Punz breaks the shulker box. Right as he’s about to put it back in his Ender chest, Stress, who can see the window of opportunity closing, springs into panicked action.
She sprints right past Punz, hoping with every fiber of her being that her invisibility potion will be enough to save her. Snatching the box right out of Punz’s hands, Stress takes off running. Punz shouts, swinging his sword wildly at the air. He’s so close that a few strands of hair, just barely the tips, get sheared off of Stress’s fluffy mane and become visible as they flutter to the ground.
Punz’s eyes narrow, tracking the potion particles that he can just barely see. Unfortunately for him, the invisible thief takes off into the mob-infested forest. He gives chase, but the thief gains on him every time he has to stop to fight a mob.
Stress knows she can’t outrun Punz. She’s not bad, but he’s really good. Stress absolutely cannot lead this man back to the canyon. Allowing the hostile mobs of the forest to buy her time by slowing Punz down, Stress looks around rapidly, searching for something, anything she can do to lose the hunter on her trail.
A lone cow catches her eye. Thinking fast, she bites her lip as she dumps her only water bucket out into a nearby pond where it won’t be noticed, then milks the cow. In the distance, a zombie groans as Punz takes it out. Stress hyperventilates, frantically digging at the ground beneath her feet with a silk touch shovel. Once she’s created a hole just barely big enough for her to hide in, she hops in and puts the grassy dirt she dug up just seconds ago above her head and immediately downs the milk, so that there won’t be any potion particles to track her by.
Slowly, carefully, and as quiet as she possibly can, she digs up the dirt beneath her feet in absolute darkness. Logically, Stress knows that Punz won’t be able to see the light from her torch, but she’s too terrified to think logically. What has she done?!
Her shovel stills as angry feet stomp above her. Dirt crumbles into her hair when Punz walks directly above her. Caustic mutters faintly reach her ears through the loamy earth, fading farther and farther away as Punz searches in vain for the invisible thief. Stress waits with bated breath for minutes on end, hands shaking like leaves in a hurricane.
Tentatively, she digs up the diorite block below her with a pickaxe. A mob shifts aboveground and Stress, paralyzed with the paranoia that it might be Punz, spends another five minutes in immobile silence. Burying her face in her hands, she sucks in a breath and continues digging. Once she hits a decently low y-level, she digs forward, taking care to place all her blocks behind her exactly as they were before she mined them.
After a solid three hundred blocks, she begins to staircase back up. On one unfortunate swing of her pick, water floods into her staircase. She must be under a lake or a sea. She can make out some kelp, though, so hopefully that’ll be enough cover for her to go up and check her surroundings.
Stress takes a deep breath and plunges into the cold water. Swimming up, she catches sight of wood-- no way. There is no way she’s made it to the docks just outside of the canyon. Eagerly, she swims back down into her staircase for a breath of air and the chance to down an invisibility potion, then back up to the surface.
On the entire journey from the bottom of the sea to the elevator on the other side of the canyon, she expects someone to catch her, to notice the water she’s dripping on the ground, to somehow sense the guilt emanating off her in waves. It doesn’t happen. Stress makes it to the elevator and pushes the down button eagerly. Every foot the elevator descends down is another thousand pounds of weight off her shoulders. She’s exhausted, and so close to home base. If she can just make it into the Atrium, she’ll have succeeded.
The elevator dings, rousing Stress from her daydreaming. “I really am dead on my feet, ain’t I?” she murmurs to herself.
She makes her way into one of the village houses, avoiding the pressure plates and tripwires which she knows like the back of her hand by now. In the house, she presses a button, which opens a door which leads to a tunnel. Sagging in relief, Stress practically melts across the floor as she traverses the short tunnel and finally makes it into Atrium 1-- a large circular room with a rounded ceiling and plenty of light.
“Woah, Stress!” Ren exclaims, running to support her. The dark circles under his eyes make him look as exhausted as she feels. He’s been working round the clock at the tree farm to churn out enough wood to meet the demands of twenty-four Hermits.
“Stress?” Ren asks with concern in his eyes, gently shaking Stress’s shoulders.
She laughs, high-pitched and wild. She’s done it. She’s really gone and done it!
“I got a shulker box,” she breathes.
Ren gasps. “What?! No way, they’re not even a thing on this server!”
“Yes they are,” Stress sing-songs, “because I have one.”
She tosses him the cyan shulker box with a look of pride on her face. Ren looks at the box in his hands, then back up at Stress with wide eyes.
“We gotta go show Xisuma, my dude.”
---
The Hermits convene in the small meeting room in the residential district, then realize that the room is in fact small and twenty-four Hermits aren’t going to fit in it. Xisuma’s having a good day, so he decides to hold the meeting in Atrium 1.
There are many different opinions on the acquisition of the shulker box, which sits innocently in the center of the room. Some people like Wels believe that even if it’s a great boon, it was stolen and therefore the Hermits don’t have the right to use it. Things were different when they first arrived in the canyon; they stole small things in order to survive. A shulker is nice to have, but the Hermits won’t die without it. On the other hand, there are people who side with Grian, who believes that since the Hermits already have the shulker box, they might as well use it.
Doc rumbles a deep hm, indicating that he’s debating with himself whether he should say something or not. Finally, it seems that the side of him which wants to tell his fellow Hermits wins out.
“Have you guys considered shulker box duping?” he says. Immediately, there is a clamor of outcries, both for and against, as well as just plain disbelieving.
Tango speaks up: absolutely not. It’s cheating. False tentatively rebuts, though, that sometimes cheating is acceptable when it's for a good cause. After all, part of her season 7 base was dug out using TNT dupers. Mumbo awkwardly raises his hand and waits for someone to acknowledge him, which Grian does.
“Er… what if we give it back after we’re done with it?” Mumbo says. Tango still looks unhappy, but the idea seems to appease Wels.
“Friends,” Xisuma says softly. Everyone quiets down immediately. “Should we have a civil vote, or shall I decide?”
Immediately, everyone gets shamed into behaving. “We can vote,” Bdubs says. “Everyone in favor of not cheating?”
“Wait, what are our options?” Grian asks.
“Er,” Scar speaks up. “Keeping the box but not duping it, giving the box back, duping it then giving it back, or duping it and not giving the original back. Is that right?”
Bdubs nods. “Yeah! So, all in favor of keeping the one original box?” A few hands go up, maybe five or six.
“Giving the box back?” More hands go up.
“Duplicating the box, then giving it back?” Nearly a dozen hands go up.
“Well then,” Bdubs says, “I guess I don’t have to finish the options; dupe-and-return wins.”
Doc strides into the center of the room and mines up the shulker box before anyone can change their mind; Tango grumbles good-naturedly at having lost the vote. Meanwhile, while everyone discusses the vote, Joe ferries Xisuma off to his quarters.
“So who’s going to give the shulker box back when we’re done with it, my dudes?” Ren asks the room at large.
“I will,” Stress says immediately. “I stole it; it’s only right that I give it back.”
---
Two days later, Punz wakes up to a noise in his house. He reaches for a knife under his pillow; just because there is no one to be seen doesn’t mean that no one’s there, as Punz is well aware given the theft of his shulker box, which he is still smarting over.
He gets out of bed, treading softly. Right there, in the doorway, is the same shulker box he lost! He looks around. This has to be a trap. No one is around… Punz might as well spring this trap.
He opens the box. Nothing is missing. In fact, there are more items inside than there were when it was stolen from him! A totem of undying, four diamond blocks, two ingots of netherite, and a note which reads, Sorry I stole your box! I only needed to borrow it, but I felt bad so I left some extra goodies in. xoxo
“...Huh?” Punz says to himself. This is the weirdest prank ever.
He puts the box back into his Ender chest and resolves to think about it in the morning.

Perspective (Ninjago Kai X Reader) Requested
Tumblr media
Here you are anon! Sorry if it isn't a Ninja you prefer-
Might have some spoilers if you don't know who Misako is.
DEFINITE spoilers to the end of season 2.
"Your ability is powerful. But to gain people's trust you need to break their perspective about you. Some may see your gift as an ability capable of destruction and chaos which makes them fear you. Others, myself included, may see your gift as a way to help make the world a better place. So, sugar or cream?" This. The very words that convinced you to join the Ninjas side and the very words you desperately hold onto during your lowest moments.
It's all about perspective. No matter how many times you've helped the Ninja save the city, some people still don't trust you. Kai especially. The hot head and the "looks" of the team according to him.
He's always been one to jump into action and ask questions later. Always been the type of person to jump to conclusions and hold onto them for dear life.
While he may be the most skeptical of the group, doesn't mean most of the ninja didn't treat you with the same skepticism as Kai.
The only people that seem to trust you these days are Sensei Wu, Misako, Zane, and Lloyd.
Speaking of Misako, you were currently helping her with her latest archeological find while the Ninja were on a mission per her instruction.
"Tiny pickaxe,"
"Got it,"
"Fossil brush,"
"Here ya go,"
"Trowel,"
"Ace of spades, you win," Misako chuckled at the lame joke. You peer over her shoulder while she works.
"What do you think it is?"
"Well, if it's been stuck in the walls of a heavily guarded chamber for thousands of years, it has to either be something valuable, powerful, or both," You hum in acknowledgment before a loud thud echoed the room, making Misako jump and drop the tiny pickaxe. It fell to the floor as the two of you turned to the door to see the Ninja covered in soot and torn clothes.
"YOU! YOU TRICKED US!" Kai yells, storming into the room and pointing an accusing finger towards you.
"Huh?"
"Don't 'huh' us! You know exactly what you did!" Jay chipped in. Zane looked back and forth at his teammates.
"Perhaps it would be wise to freshen up and rest. A near-death experience can-"
"NOT NOW ZANE!" Kai yells. Cole grimaces, inhaling sharply through his teeth before backing out of the room.
"Kai please-"
"HOW CAN YOU ALL BE SO BLIND?! THEY TRICKED US INTO GOING INTO THAT DEATH TRAP AND YOU'RE TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN?!" Kai cuts Lloyd off, absolutely furious.
"Kai-"
"No! They PLANNED this! They wanted us to go in blind to get rid of us! They should've never been invited to the team in the first place and stay in their little evil lair! Once a demon, always a demon," The room went completely silent as Lloyd looked at Kai like he was the dumbest person alive.
"I… I'm… going to get some air," You mumbled before swiftly walking past them and onto the deck of the bounty.
"Kai. I get it, you're angry. But that was literally the DUMBEST thing that ever came out of your mouth," Lloyd grumbles.
"Wha-"
"Lloyd is right. Saying someone never changes is inaccurate. Lloyd is a perfect example of this," Zane chips in.
"And Garmadon. Well, he was originally good, then bad, then good again, but the point is he did change. Multiple times!" Jay points out, feeling a tad guilty for snapping at you.
"And Y/N wasn't the one who told us to go there, my mother did," Misako nods.
"He's right. And if I had known how dangerous it was, I wouldn't have sent you. Y/N as well, no matter how much you perceive them as the villain," Kai looked around and realized he was in the wrong and knew what he had to do.
"Fine, I messed up. I'll apologize," Kai grumbles, leaving the room. They then turned their attention to Jay who looked nervous.
"Okay! Fine! I messed up too! I'll go make an apology gift!" He scrambles out of the room while the trio looked at each other proudly.
____________
You leaned on the bounty looking down at Ninjago city. You were contemplating if you should just pack your bags and leave if that's what they want. You didn't even consider joining till Sensei Wu said his piece.
Kai's words were the straw that broke the camel's back. While contemplating, you realized you did very little to help the team. Why did Wu want you again? For your potential?
Nodding to yourself, you turn around to start packing when you see Kai approaching you. You frown upon seeing his conflicted expression.
"Uh… hey?" -_- Really Kai? That's what made you so conflicted. Shaking your head, you begin walking.
"Hey, where are you going?" Kai asks, confused.
"Leaving," You respond curtly, Kai follows you with a raised brow.
"Well, can you at least hear me out?"
"I don't want to hear it," Kai was taken aback by how cold you were being. You're usually friendly and patient with everyone, even if they are skeptical. Kai's guilt started to swallow him whole, he caused this.
"Please?" It was a feeble attempt, one that was said just above a whisper and so upset that you'd think a child said it. You pause and sigh, turning around to face the hothead, a sign for him to get on with it.
"Look, I'm sorry for what I said and I have no excuse for it. It was… out of line..." Kai muttered, looking at his feet.
"Okay," You turn on your heel and continue walking while Kai stares at you in shock.
"Wait, where are you going?!" Kai asks, confused and a little scared.
"I already told you that I'm leaving, for good," Kai's eyes widened in realization, you were leaving the team.
"WHAT?! No, you can't!"
"First you want me to leave then you want me to stay, can't you make up your mind FOR ONCE?!" You snapped, turning to face him with tears brimming around your eyes.
"Hey, I said I was sorry, didn't I?!" Kai snaps back.
"An apology doesn't just fix everything! I'm done! I'm done being treated like I just murdered someone every day, no matter what I do to show that I'm not what people think I am! I'm done being defined by my abilities that I didn't even ask for! I'm done…" You couldn't stop the emotions and the tears from flooding, once you started you couldn't stop. You wipe at your eyes in a feeble attempt to stop the tears while Kai stared, his guilt consumed him and then some.
"Y/N," He called out, gaining your attention. He extended a hand, a small flame erupting from his palm and waving wildly, a symbol of both their current emotions.
"'Perspective is everything.' That's what Wu said. Some may see this fire as a cause for pain, destruction, and chaos. But to others it warms a house on a winter's night, it's a signal to let those know you need help.
It's more than just a little flame. And I should've been seeing you the same way. There are good and bad qualities in every person. I've been obsessing over the bad because of my perspective on you. When I should've been looking at both your good traits and flaws equally.
You said ‘an apology doesn't fix everything,’ right. Well, then what about a thank you? Thank you for being so patient. Thank you for putting up with this for so long even though you didn't deserve it. Thank you for being strong, brave, and kind. Thank you…" Kai trailed off, looking down at the ground in embarrassment while putting out the fire. You stared at him in amazement.
"Ah, that got… long," He muttered. You snicker and then start laughing.
"Th-That's the most thoughtful thing since I got here… and the smartest," You half-joked, earning a playful glare while he smirked.
"Thank you, Kai," He merely shrugged.
"Yeah, yeah. What are friends for?" You perked up at his words.
"I'm your friend?"
"Well, now you are. Only if you want to though," You smiled.
"I'd love to be your friend Kai,"
"Aww, maaaaan! How am I gonna top that?!" You and Kai turn to see Jay holding a box while muttering to himself. The two of you burst out laughing. It'll take time to repair/make the bonds of friendship, but with a new friend by your side, you're sure to gain the rest of the team's trust.

How their relationship gets revealed (iii)
Characters: Akaashi, Oikawa, Sakusa, Tsukishima, Ushijima
Category: fluff
Tumblr media
Akaashi Keiji
You’re a best-selling novelist and incredibly famous
Akaashi has been your editor for 3 years now
He’s such a hardworking and dedicated worker
You buy him a lot of presents and he does as well
Constant uploads onto social media with new gifts and meals together
Which happens a lot because you need constant feedback and reviews
And so your readers kind of ship you with him
Lightly, like “Y’all are cute together” and “I wish I have this kind of support”
They don’t actually think you’re together and also don’t want to force it on you
But little do they know that you’ve been dating for over a year now
Because Akaashi is:
1. Kind and caring
2. Really hot/pretty
3. The gentlest person you’ve ever met and
4. Is incredibly professional and can separate work from personal feelings
5. Just look at him
He confessed his feelings for you after your last book sold over a million copies
Because he was drunk after the celebration
But you also liked him and a new relationship was born
Mainly kept on the down low because it’s just easier
You and him both have meddling people around you
But feelings grew day by day
And you desperately want everyone to know your boyfriend is such a wonderful and amazing partner like scream it from the top of your lungs
And so a new book was made
In the dedications page, you wrote “To my other half, thank you for taking care and loving me”
Reader are surprised at the relationship update
But are super happy for you even though they don’t know who it is
The book is a really sweet and cute novel
Readers think it sounds kind of familiar for some reason…
And at the end of the book, it says “To Akaashi Keiji”
(Turns out it was loosely based on yours and his relationship)
The reading community is flipped and your book reaches bestsellers in record time
Oikawa Tooru
Oikawa comes to Japan for a match against the Schweiden Adlers
His return was met with thousands of fans and plenty of photographers and reporters
Every one of his fans were saying how much they love him and hope he wins
And tons of gifts are given left and right
He gives his ever-so charming smile and gracefully accepts them
An interviewer asks him what he missed most in Japan
He rattles off a list
“My family, my friends—Iwa-chan isn’t here though—Japanese food. There’s this wonderful ramen place in my hometown! I also have to see Mattsun and…”
The reporter smiles and nods to his replies
His fans are screaming how they’ll buy anything he wants in the background
He thanks them but that just makes them scream louder
Then his face goes soft, like he’s remembering a really happy thing
“...but I missed [Name]-chan the most.”
The reporter’s eyes widens along with all his fan’s
Even hardcore, and I mean hardcore, fans didn’t know about this
“They’ve been supporting me so much and it’s been ages since my last visit… I just want to see and hug them.”
His small smile is so full of love and affection, even a blind person could see he’s in love
They had zero idea he was in a committed relationship
Most of his fans scream that they hope he has a good relationship
(He ignores the ones that are shrieking“No!”)
Photos of you with him are uploaded after he wins against Schweiden Adlers
He’s smiling like the sun in every single one of them
Sakusa Kiyoomi
Sakusa hates interviews and reporters
Because they keep sticking microphones, which is covered with theirs and everyone else’s germs, into his face
And expect him to be polite when he’s so uncomfortable
So he has a reputation for being a little (read: extremely) difficult for post-match interviews
Nearly everyone had given up
And then all of a sudden, he’s actually civilised in interviews
Like, answering questions and even smiling a little
Everyone’s thinking
“Is he okay?”
“What’s happening?”
“Oh god he’s finally lost it after being in a team with 3 crackheads #PrayForSakusa2020”
In reality, it’s because you’re the one interviewing him
He doesn't want to do it for anyone else, but you insisted that he has to
And now he responds to other reporters as well (albeit incredibly unwillingly)
But he only smiles for you
Fans start noticing after 3 – 4 interviews
“Is it me or is Sakusa really nice when that reporter asks him”
“No I noticed as well”
“DOES HE LIKE THEM ASDISJDW IS MY BOY IN LOVE”
“WHY IS EVERYONE DATING OR IN LOVE WHEN I’M SO ALONE”
After a match, you finish a live report which people can chat on (just say there is one)
It’s in a sheltered place so currently not a lot of people are around
And he doesn't walk away, just keeps standing there
He thinks the camera is off now, and so do you
But is isn’t it’s still on and going live
You’re about to pack up and walk away
But a small tug stops you
It’s Sakusa and the people are going wild because holy shit, is Sakusa actually touching someone??? Our clean freak?? Are my eyes deceiving me??
You take his hand (“What the hell?”) and softly ask “Kiyo? What’s wrong?” (“DID THEY SAY KIYO UGH CARDIAC ARREST”)
He mumbles about how he doesn’t want you to talk to his teammates, even for the sake of interviews (“IS SAKUSA JEALOUS??? OUR DETACHED BOY???”)
You giggle and ruffle his hair, kissing him over the mask (“I AM FAINTING CALL 119”) while saying you need to do your job
And then look over to the cameraman
Whose jaw is on the floor
And you can see the red blinking light from the camera
“Ah, shit”
Tsukishima Kei
His teammates (*cough* Koganegawa *cough*) outed him on social media
You were working overseas and came back after months
The day coincided with a practise match, but Tsukishima was able to excuse himself
So you’re having the time of your life with your saltTM
He’s actually a really nice and sweet boyfriend underneath all that salt and sass
Even made a date course to explore the city
Had a good lunch and some strawberry shortcake in his favourite bakery
You enjoy it immensely, so he was smiling secretly
But then his phone starts blowing up for some reason
When he checks it, there are thousands of questions flooding his messages and social media
Turns out Koganegawa slipped up
He was doing an Instagram Live and when someone asked where Tsukki was
Did he come up with a good excuse?
Nope, he immediately said “Oh, he’s out on a date!”
Everyone’s confused because our salt has a partner?? Since when??
And then he realises he screwed up, especially with how private Tsukki is
The only thing stopping the exposed boy from returning to the gym and throwing hands with the setter is you
You kept saying it’s fine and it’s okay
He reluctantly gives up on planning his revenge (not really though)
You distract him enough to go to the museum he’s going to be working at
And he later uploads a photo of you from behind while you’re reading a dinosaur’s description
(And a separate one where Koganegawa is in a dogeza pose)
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Schweiden Adlers won another match
Ushijima answers interviews, like he does every match
One particular reporter asks the root of his energy and passion
They expected an answer like “thirst for success” or “pride and honour” or something along those lines
But he smiles softly, which breaks everyone watching because they have never seen that before
But the next thing breaks them even more
He says “[Name], my spouse.”
His teammates knew about you but not everyone else
People are spitting their drinks out and absolutely flabbergasted
Even his own teammates because he didn’t seem like the person to say that
He says it’s your first anniversary as a married couple
But he’s overseas so he can’t be with you today
Says that he sent a present and he hopes you’ll like it
Then bows and just walks away to change
Like he hasn’t said the most scandalous thing since the start of his career
Tons of articles and Twitter posts are made about him and this new revelation
To the point where it’s trending #1
He doesn’t care though, and you really don’t either
It wasn’t that big or important of a secret
He just didn't mention it up to now because he didn’t see the need
He doesn’t have to publicise the extent of his love for you because you already know that
The present was a brand-new, top of the line laptop along with a new phone
The same brand as his (awww couple items)
So that he can FaceTime/video call you with HD quality
His teammates have to listen to him being sickeningly cute every night now
And complain about it on interviews
#BestHusbandUshijimaWakatoshi starts trending

Hi! I love your writing so far, and I hope you don’t mind if I send you a request :) I was wondering if you could write something with Tenya Iida x the reader? I was thinking a situation where they’re on a class trip to the beach and he sees mineta bugging the reader with flirts because she’s wearing a bikini. I would love to see how Iida would react. Thanks in advance!
Buzz Off, Pop Off | Tenya Iida x Reader
I am making the class’ ages slightly ambiguous because I know a wide age range of people read fanfics. However, the story makes more sense in a high school or university setting. If you are older, you can make UA a hero university and 1-A one of the hero classes there. Also I apologize over how long this took to do. Hopefully, if you're reading it you like it.
Words: 1791 words | Fluff
Warning: Inappropriate comments, uncomfortable comments
“Say cheese!” Mina exclaimed as she attempted to capture pictures of everyone in the class. A scream emits from my throat as she tackles me into the water. Somehow, we managed to stay up. I hold up a hand covering part of face and body to avoid a full capture.
“Come on! You look absolutely amazing. It’s for the memories,” she pouted while crossing her arm.
“Hm... Try beating me in game of volleyball. We’ll see then,” I challenged her.
“Game on!”
“Pick your team. May all the luck be with you,” I bowed towards her, making her laugh at my response.
“Hey, everyone! We both are playing volleyball. Does anyone want to join?!” Mina shouts while pointing at the both of us. I instantly hear a series of ‘yes’ and ‘me’ throughout the beach.
Looking around, I made sure everyone was in their position. Iida is on my team... Wow. Okay, calm down. Don’t panic. Luckily (and obviously), this portion of the beach was reserved for the class only. The teachers were all still visible talking amongst themselves. As soon as the whistle blew, my focus turned towards the ball.
“____, you look quite hot with your bikini!” And there he goes.
“Wow. I wish you jumped towards me like that.” Dude, let me concentrate. Crap, the block was good.
“How about you and I go somewhere after this?” No thank you. Crap, I need to be careful with my spikes. It almost went out.
“Hehe. I know you’re interested, ____. You keep look at me.” No. I am looking at you with disgust. And I’m focusing on Iida, who is BEHIND you.
Before I can say anything Iida blows the whistle, indicating that we take a break. I try to catch my breath as the group rests. In the corner of my eye, a figure walking towards another captures my eye. I listen into their conversation.
“Mineta, I suggest you stop that disgusting behavior of yours. Can’t you see you are ruining her day?” Iida began. His confrontation immediately warms my heart. He didn’t have to do that but he did.
“Nah, you’ve got it wrong. She’s just chilling. Plus, she keeps looking at me. She’s interested.” Mineta responds while waving his hand up and down to dismiss Iida.
“I’m not.” I instantly blurt out with clear distaste.
“Your comments are still detestable. Her behavior shows discomfort not attraction. You need to stop.”
“Iida, calm down. Things won’t always go your way.” Mineta rolls his eyes.
“Then, I guess you leave me no choice.”
“Both teams, please listen up!” Iida drew the attention to himself.
When both teams gathered near him, Iida laid out a suggestion.
“How about we switch players? Mineta can switch with... Ojiro.” Both teams instantly went into consulting amongst themselves. Despite a few disagreements, the suggestion was not hard to accept. Since my team is aware of his behavior, they had no problem with agreeing with Iida.
The next thing I know, break ends and the games starts once again. We played three sets total. My team won the first set, Mina’s team won the second set, and now we were on the last set. Despite being on the other side of the net, Mineta continued to make suggestive face gestures. He also made some comments towards Mina. However, in response, she shot her acid at him, making him instantly regret his words.
Now, my team was one point away from winning.
“_____, are you okay? Are you able to concentrate?” Iida was focused on the game. Still, he made the time to ensure my state of mind. I reply with a quick ‘yes’. Right then, I see the ball rushing towards me.
“I got it!” I push my arms out to receive the ball, which I managed to do.
“Nice receive, ___!” Iida complimented while setting the ball towards Izuku.
Midoriya was there within a second, harshly slamming down the ball right besides Mineta’s position. The wind that emitted from it was otherworldly. My eyes widen in surprise. My eyes only grew when I saw Iida smiling to himself, then making a happy expression towards Midoriya. Did they plan- No. It’s probably because it’s our winning point.
“Ah! No! Mineta, it was right there!” Mina complains.
“Well, I could’ve died!” Mineta stood there in fear with his legs trembling.
I only chuckle to myself. My team cheers over our win. Soon enough, everyone begins to disperse.
“Aw, I really wanted a picture of you,” Mina whines, trying to convince me with her eyes. I just shake my head and whisper in her ear.
“Peer pressure but fine. Only after you know who leaves.”
Mina vigorously and happily shakes her head up and down.
After the exhausting sets, I decided to go in the water to cool off. I close my eyes, feeling the water against my legs. Suddenly, I heard voice.
“Just one date. What about it?” Mineta was, yet again, near me. Before I can respond, a blast of wind hits my fast. I look up and Iida was towering over me with Mineta in his grasp.
“Now, what did I tell you back there?” he sounded angrier than earlier.
“Uh. That she was not liking what I uh said,” Mineta was visibly panicking against his grasp.
“Do you think this is a joke?” Iida eyes darken and he tightens his hold on Mineta’s arms.
“No.”
“Then, I am sure you know what to do. Please, do not make me repeat myself,” he lowered Mineta back on the ground. Mineta quickly rushes towards the beach house. I also see others going back inside. It is starting to get a bit dark. Cold too.
“Are you sure you’re fine?” Iida looked worried. He kept his distance from me as if he wanted to make sure I am comfortable.
“Oh, yeah. Don’t worry. You were able to keep him away from me. I was about to say something but you flew in.”
“Oh, I do apologize. I did not mean to enter your situation. You just looked uncomfortable with his presence,” he fixed his glasses. My heart was beating rather quickly. The cool breeze against my skin was not helping the heat on my cheeks and neck.
“No! You’re alright. Thank you!” I quickly responded.
“Since it is getting cold,” Iida reached for his bag and pulled out a blue shirt.
“Here you go,” he hands me his shirt.
I take it into my hand and unfold it to put it on. A slight blush builds on his face after seeing me put it on. We continued to simply gaze at each other until I looked at the water.
“You look- Well, you see- I- For a while now,” I was confused with Iida’s tense composure. I closed his eyes and breathes in, then breathes out.
“I do not want you for feel pressured. Please tell me to stop when you begin to feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable. I simply need to get this off my chest,” he began. What?
“I’ve liked you for a while now. I can’t help but feel the need to take care of you. Though, I am full aware that you’re completely capable taking care of yourself. When Mineta made those crude comments, my irritation only tripled. I want to be able to fully stop that without making you feel surprised with my sudden interference. I have never wanted to be with someone as much as I have wanted to be with you. We still have a long way to go in life but I can tell that my feelings are serious. Will you be my girlfriend? Will you make me your boyfriend?” he looked calm but his red ears hinted otherwise.
My mouth was slightly open in surprise. My mind was trying to process all the information. I looked at the water, once again. What are you doing?! This is your chance. You’ve like him for a long time too. Do not ruin this for yourself.
“I won’t rush you so take your ti-”
“I like you too!” I interrupted him. He steps back at my sudden confession.
“I have liked you for a while too. I just didn’t know what to do. So yes, I’d love to be partners,” I smiled at him.
His eyes widen and glimmer with light. His face grows a big smiles and his chest swells. He puts out his hands but does not lean forwards.
“Can I hug you?”
“I don’t see why not”
As soon as those words left my mouth, I felt his warmth around my body.
*click* Huh? I internally shrug off the sound that I heard.
Upon entering the beach house, I heard the class talking amongst themselves.
“I told you so! You owe me a hamburger,” Denki told Jirou.
“Hm. Seems like you were right after all, Midoriya,” Todoroki says. Bakugou ‘tsk’ed at both of them.
I was in utter confusion until I noticed the image in Mina’s hand. It was a polaroid of Iida and I hugging.
“And here you were lecturing me about my actions,” Mineta looks at Iida.
In return, Iida only crosses him arms and glare at him.
“Mr. Aizawa wants to have a word with you. I suggest you do not lie. He already saw your actions and I did not leave out any details,” he replies. There were a few giggles from the students.
“Also,” the classroom is completely silent.
“I’m her boyfriend so buzz off, pop off.”
Not even a second after Iida’s confession, the classroom began screaming and laughing. The reaction towards the his changed relationship status and use of vocabulary was undeniably loud. Mineta’s mouth opens with shock at Iida’s words.
Iida gently takes my hands and pulls me towards the main room’s couch.
“Now, tell us everything!” Mina exclaims flopping the polaroid around as she walks near us. The rest of the class, except for Mineta, also gathers around to hear the story.
“Ah! That’s so cute. I didn’t know that’s when you started liking ____.” Me neither.
“Why did it take you so long to realize, huh?!”
“You shouldn’t be talking, Bakubro. You denied their attraction first.” Oh, no.
“Dude, you’re right but I don’t think you should have- Hey, wait! I didn’t mean it like that.” I hope he is okay.
“With the way he looked at her when he and I walked together, I was sure of it.” Always the observant one.
“I love you” I whispered at Iida, underneath all the noise.
“I love you just as much” Iida whispers back into in my ear.

“Sending someone to wake me up it’s not what a best friend would do, Black.” you muttered, running your hands through your hair as you brushed it away from your face with your fingers.
“Is your roommate still alive?” he asked with a knowing smile, standing straight from his previous position leaning on the wall outside your common room.
That day you hadn’t woken up with the soft sunlight over your face, your skin warm to the touch as you stretched the sleep out of your body, you didn’t wake up to the distant chatter of the rest of the Ravenclaws at the common room or to the smell of your roommates perfumes after they had showered. No. You woke up to the harsh grasp of Anne, one of your roommates, shaking you awake like some natural event was happening and you all had to run out of the castle. Did natural disasters even dare to touch Hogwarts? You didn’t have the time to ask, the urgence in her voice when she told you some Slytherin boy was looking for you outside enough to make your own worry wash away with a groan, turning your back and diving deeper in your bed.
“He said it was important.”
“I’m sure.” you mumbled, your face buried in your pillow as you lifted your head, muttering under your breath as you got out of bed like a grumpy child.
“She’s breathing.” you assured him, a glare permanent in your face as you started to walk beside him “To what do I owe the pleasure of rising this early in the morning?” you asked bitterly.
“You’re the worst.” he said with a hint of humor, making you turn to him in both shock and a deeper glare.
“Excuse you?” you said.
“I play Quidditch, today is the game.” he reminded you, the vague memory of those words being told to you before coming back to you “You asked me to come and look for you just before it began.”
“You’re playing this early?” you asked, looking outside the windows in the corridor to see the sun was barely out in the sky “You’re not playing, Reg. That’s called torture, someone like you should know that.” you said, nudging his side with your arm.
He stayed silent, turning to you before he quickly glanced away. “What do you mean?” he asked.
You looked at him, taking his change of humor in before you answered “You and your habit of making me wake up early.” you explained, but there was no humor behind your words anymore. “Are you sure you feel alright?”
He took a deep breath, one you barely noticed before he nodded firmly. “Of course.” he answered “You’re right, it’s too early. I’m not fully awake yet.” he said, patting his cheeks gently with the pads of his fingers, making you shake your head and laugh. “I thought we could have breakfast together, before the game.”
“I-” you said, linking your arm with his “would absolutely love that.”
Regulus led the both of you to the mostly empty Great Hall, breakfast being served to the few early birds like Regulus that chose to raise with the sun. You would never understand but you had, literally , asked for it.
You seated on your usual spot, your eyelids still a little heavy while you saw Regulus moved gracefully.
“Your tea.” he said, handing you a cup with careful movements.
“How thoughtful.” you answered, taking the cup from his hands as you took a slow sip “But I think if you want me to survive this day I might need something a little stronger.”
He rolled his eyes and said nothing, as he switched his cup with yours with a swift movement across the table.
You looked down in shock at your new cup, the dark liquid reflecting your image and showing exactly how you felt “Since when do you drink coffee?” you asked in a whispered scream.
He glanced at you with little expression on his face “I took a liking to it during the winter break.” he explained.
“Winter break?” you questioned “Did your mother take a liking to it too or what? You’ve never even looked in its direction, not even when I tried to force it on you.” you said, spitting the words. Your arms laid crossed over your chest, your glare set on your face as you saw him shrug.
“It’s because you tried to force it on me that I didn’t try it.” he said back, both of you entering in a small fight over his new liking to the warm beverage, your body language becoming more prominent as you both started to lean on the table, hands pointing everywhere while trying to keep your voices hushed.
“They look like an old couple.” James said from the other end of the Great Hall, taking a bite of his breakfast as he glanced at the silence of Sirius.
“Stop.” Remus warned him, snapping his fingers in front of Sirius “They’ll feel you staring and it’ll be worse for her.”
“Maybe he should feel my stare.” Sirius snapped, lowering his gaze and taking his emotions out on his own breakfast, a fork his weapon of choice.
You hadn't even seen Sirius when you got to the Great Hall but he had heard your laugh the moment you turned right on the door, holding onto his brother’s arm like nothing had happened. Did you forget all that he said? Were you that great of an actress? The smile that inevitably appeared on his face at any sign of you was completely washed away when you two sat down and started talking like you always had.
He wanted that.
“You should talk to her.” Remus offered but James cut him short.
“I don’t get what the big issue is! So your brother is her best friend, why should that stop you from dating her?”
“You forgot the part where Regulus is a Slytherin with the mind and ideas of Sirius’ parents that hates him for being him.” Remus said, all three pairs of eyes on him with an unnatural silence “Don’t look at me like that, you know I’m right.”
“Didn’t have to be so harsh about it.” Peter murmured in his side while Sirius just stared blankly with hopelessness in his eyes.
“Point is,” James added, slinging his arm over Sirius’ shoulders and giving Remus a glare “He already hates you, why not give him one more reason?”
Sirius groaned, moving out of James' hold “Because she doesn’t want him to hate her.”
“She might have to pick.” James added, a bright smile on his lips. “And we all know who would win, right?” he asked, looking for Remus and Peter’s support but only finding his subtle shaking of heads, making all confidence in James fade.
“Yeah, Prongs.” Sirius said, pointing his hand in your direction as he let it fall with a thud on the table, the act of defeatment “The one in the old couple wins. Look at them! Everyone already thinks that they are secretly dating. I stand no chance.”
The three Marauders stared at their friend in disbelief. A side of Sirius Black they never expected to see coming to shine from the dark, making its way into the world for everyone to see it. Sirius Black, the boy who had all the ladies running after him, the one who had no trouble using his skills to have everyone down on their knees and that knew he was worth it of it all and more, that same Sirius Black that now hid his head in between his arms for a Ravenclaw girl who had the heart and wit to befriend his brother and become the shadow of one another.
Sirius Black cared for the girl enough to put his own desires aside and let her be happy, to keep his friendship. The only person she had left in the school. That wasn’t true anymore, but he knew it was the truth for his brother. A brother that deep down he still cared about, he knew that the girl sitting in front of him was his entire world and he didn’t have the heart to hurt two people he cared about for his own happiness. As selfish as Sirius Black was, this time he didn’t want to be. He just hoped he had the strength to keep that promise to himself.
*******
The air up on the bleachers was cold against your cheeks. The day had gotten a little cloudy and you could smell in the air a storm coming in the school direction. You just hoped it wouldn’t start as you watched the game. Moving through all of your housemates you found a seat in the front, a seat for someone who went there all by themselves, someone like you. You went for the sole purpose of watching Regulus play, something you two didn’t share in liking but he was still passionate about, you loved seeing the smile on his face while he flew on his broom.
The students divided themselves without even realizing it, covering the deep blue colors of the Ravenclaw house you could find the team they supported for the day. Dark red banners flew in the air while others jumped with green pieces of clothing. Of course, you didn’t stay behind. Covering the blue of your robes there was a green scarf around your neck. Regulus had wrapped it around your neck just before you went your separate ways, you wished him luck and watched him go to the changing rooms.
But now you didn’t feel sure about it. Wishing you could divide your body and paint one side with the colors of Gryffindor while the other flashed the usual greens.
It wasn’t every day that the two houses played against one another, the natural rivalry making the game all the more interesting for those who enjoyed the competition. They might not be the best teams or the greatest players, but they were the houses of Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin. The tension in the air was stronger than the one of the upcoming storm.
Your attention was captured from inside your head the moment the wind swept your hair out of your face, green and silver flying in the air as each player took their position. They waved proudly, the cheers loud and full of excitement.
Then the Gryffindor team make their appearance. The crowd burst with energy as the team flew around, waving to all the people in the bleachers. It wasn’t unknown how popular they were. Marlene Mckinnon was in their team, one of the prettiest girls in the school, a true Gryffindor and quidditch player. Then you could count on the charisma of James Potter, captain and star. And then there was Sirius, you were certain most people who usually didn’t show up to quidditch games were there only for Sirius.
But then inevitable happened. Sirius flew just above from where you stood, looking down at you with a smile. He moved through the air in a subtle way, glancing in different directions but inevitably ending on you. He flashed you his brightest smile, pointing to his neck as he shook his head.
You looked down, seeing the Slytherin scarf around your neck and feeling a blush come up to your cheeks.
His smile returned to his face, winking in your direction before he dissapeared in the distance. The game began minutes after.
Of course he would make a big entrance in your life after being missing for days. Only he would do that.
Your bubble burst when the cheers to your right began increasing in volume, seeing Gryffindor had scored. You restrained yourself to slow claps, James bumping fists with Marlene as they went back to their positions. The game was getting more interesting by the minute.
The last few minutes had you on the edge of your seat. The scores were even, the Slytherins played sharper and the Gryffindors rougher. Regulus had been after the snitch with no luck, almost fighting the Gryffindor seeker every time each of them caught a glimpse of it. Your eyes were focused on the black haired boy, his eyes snapping to all directions at the slightest sound and then he was gone. You tried to follow him but he was too fast, your neck too sore from trying to keep up, finally losing him in the crowd of players. Still you found your new focus.
Sirius flew through the middle of the field, following close to James as he kept the Slytherin team away from him, the Quaffle secured under his arm. They worked in sync, James flying higher and faster. He wasted no time once he got his shot, throwing the Quaffle with a swift swing of his arm.
Just then the game ended but the cheers grew as every single person joined in. All the players looked down, you following as your eyes widened in surprise. You shot up in your place, throwing your hands in the air. Regulus held the snitch in his hand.
Confusion filled the place as everyone wondered who had won. The game ended with Gryffindor having more points but Regulus caught the golden snitch.
You lowered your arms, looking at Regulus as he met your gaze. He shrugged, going to the ground where all the players were shouting their arguments to the teachers.
A couple of minutes in silence followed as everyone observed the crowd down in the pitch, the frustration clear in their faces. They were throwing their hands in the air, pointing at each other and shouting, the echo of their voices reaching the high part of the bleachers.
“Gryffindor wins!” yelled the student that had been commenting on the entire game. The crowd burst into loud cheers once more, some running down to the pitch while others hugged right there. The energy was too heavy and you couldn’t help but join in, letting out a shout as you jumped in your place.
You ran down to the ground, body clashing against many students going in the opposite direction. And then you met his eyes, far away in the distance, Sirius stood tall over many of the students that were congratulating the team but his gaze remained on you, a smile mirrored in both your faces as you started to walk in his direction, unknowing of Regulus watching you from the side.
He stared at your smile, one he had never seen in your face, and followed the direction of your eyes. It was a sea of people, all of them sharing the smile on your lips but not one sharing the feeling.
Just before you got away from him he reached for you, tapping your shoulder as he followed your step.
“Reg!” you gasped, turning to the side before you pointed at him. “I-I could’ve sworn I saw you over there.” you said, pointing in the direction you were headed.
“I’m right here.” he told you “You look far too happy for someone whose best friend just lost a game because of bad timing.”
You laughed, smiling smugly at him “And I’m the bad loser.”
“It was bad timing and you know it.” he said, about to add something else when he closed the gap from his mouth, seeing your eyes lost in the distance, glancing between him and whatever had captured your attention.
You shook your head and turned fully to him, taking his arm and dragging him with you “If only you were faster.” you mocked, returning to the conversation like nothing had happened.
“If only.” he whispered, letting himself follow your step as he took one last glance over his shoulder.
Gryffindor.

“Let me hide this stuff and I’ll be back in five, okay?” he asked. You nodded, Dean cupping your cheek before he was gone. It was barely a minute before he was returning, wearing sweats and a henley, a box under his arm. “Brownies from the bakery down the block.”
“I thought you liked pie.”
“I do. But you like brownies,” he said. “Something to look forward to after you spend the night shaking and sweating.”
“Lovely,” you said. He sat down beside you, urging you to lean into him. He tucked a blanket over your legs, watching the fire crackle. “I don’t think I mind if you’re a monster.”
“I can be pretty horrible.”
“You’re not horrible to me. You’ve never been that way. Even if your first instinct was to try to manipulate me you decided not to.”
“I hate most people. Think they’re worthless. Only care about myself.”
“So? I told you when we met...I’m the nice bad guy. I frankly don’t give a fuck anymore about being the pushover, the one that gets hurt. I just want to never be afraid again.”
“We never have to be afraid after tonight. Never,” he said. “You’ll be stronger than Homelander. Stronger than me. You’ll be safe.”
“For a bad guy, you were awfully nice giving me that dose with no strings attached.”
“There’s no strings,” he said. He stroked your arm when you shivered.
“Partners?” you asked. He leaned down, kissing you more gently than he ever had. No need behind it.
“I like partners,” he said. He was warm as you started to feel cool, Dean drawing shapes on your bare skin. “I had a little brother.”
“I didn’t know that.”
“He got sick right after I shipped out. Died the morning I got my first dose of Compound V. Only reason I volunteered for the shot. They said volunteers got special benefits. I wanted my brother to get to a good hospital and proper care and he was already dead by the time I got my shot. Then uh, then some of us started dying cause they didn’t know dosages or shit. I thought at least Sam’s gonna be okay. Then I spent three days wishing it would kill me so I could be with him instead of having been away for the last year of his life. But I didn’t die. I was the only one. Then they gave me more and...I guess I enjoyed becoming the super soldier over grieving. Then it goes to your head and changes you and...Sammy wouldn’t even recognize me now. At least I know I’m not going to the same place he wound up so he won’t have to see.”
“What was that like, being honest just now,” you asked, goosebumps covering your skin. You bundled into him more, Dean pulling up the blanket.
“I miss Sammy. I haven’t thought about him in years. I hope the kid’s happy wherever he is.”
“Maybe you’ll see him again someday,” you said. You shook, sweat forming all over you, muscles aching. You turned, unable to get comfortable. “How long does this last?”
“About six hours. Then I passed out and when I woke up it was over.”
“Awesome.” You gripped the blanket tight, Dean massaging your tense shoulders. “Tell me more about Sammy. Please.”
“He absolutely hated being called Samuel,” said Dean with a chuckle. “So naturally I did it all the time when we were kids.”
“Keep going,” you said, stomach churning briefly. “Distract me.”
“Let me tell you about the time we jumped off the shed roof.”
You were in sweaty clothes when you woke, lifting your head off Dean’s chest to find him passed out and snoring lightly. You sat up, shaking out your head. Something was different. You stood, deciding to test out flying first. You yelped when you nearly hit the ceiling, freezing and plopping straight down onto the couch and Dean.
He groaned awake, peeling open his eyes to find you hovering above him.
“Sweetheart I’m all for a little rough in the bedroom but not a full body tackle awake,” he said. You moved to the side, the motion second nature quickly but it required much less effort than before. You looked around, nothing in the room heavy enough to test your strength. Dean sat up, smirking as he looked at you. “Wanna arm wrestle?”
“Yes!” you said, Dean chuckling, groggily taking a seat at the counter. You stood on the other side of the island, Dean clasping your hand.
“Let’s go,” he said. You squeezed, Dean keeping up with you for a good few seconds before he started to go down fast. You heard the counter creek and then it was breaking, Dean backing up.
“Uh,” you said.
“Don’t worry about it. What do you expect when you got supes in the place? But you, you’re stronger. Stronger than me,” he said. “How do you feel?”
“Good. Very good. I um, I’d like to go fly. I think I might be faster.”
“Go for it. I’ll call someone to get this fixed. Just be careful. Try not to fly into any planes.”
“I’ll do my best, Soldier Boy.”
“Again?” asked Dean that night. You flew up high and smiled, Dean letting go of you, free falling a few seconds before you dove down and caught him. He giggled and you flew higher, Dean jumping off. You could heard him laughing and went down, something hitting you on the way. You threw a punch and arms released you, Dean holding on tight when you finally caught up with him. You both looked up and glared, a cape and pair of red eyes looking down. “You do realize the fall won’t kill me.”
“Probably not. But it’d be fun to try,” said Homelander. He floated down to your level, your arm tight around Dean’s waist. “Oh relax. I won’t touch your boy toy again.”
“I thought I said to stay the fuck away from us,” you growled.
“I just thought you’d like to know that Soldier Boy’s internal file will be released to the major news outlets tomorrow. Did you know-”
You grabbed his neck with your free hand, squeezing hard, Homelander pawing at your wrist.
“Any good reasons why I shouldn’t kill him?” you asked Dean.
“None come to mind,” said Dean, Homelander’s eyes red but fading as he choked for air.
“Feel free to speak up,” you said, gripping his neck even tighter.
“Stop,” said a voice, the three of you turning towards a small drone hovering close by. “Let him go.”
“He tried to kill Soldier Boy,” you said, holding on tight. You didn’t even see the drone shoot out the darts, the three of you hit. You instantly dropped Homelander, flying down to the roof of Vought as soon as you could, Dean out cold already and you quickly joining him.
You woke up on the couch in Edgar’s office, no sign of Dean or Homelander. Everything felt off still as you sat up, Mr. Edgar suddenly sitting on the edge of the coffee table.
“Are you alright?”
“No,” you groaned, stretching out. “What the hell was that?”
“If you’re going to act like children, we’ll treat you like them.”
“Dean and I were having fun, minding our own business-”
“Dean and you stole Compound V for your own benefit. I thought you were going to be more understanding of this arrangement.”
“I have to be stronger than Homelander and now I am. We didn’t hurt anybody to get it. You people let him do whatever the fuck he wanted so get off your high horse.”
“We understand. But you can’t kill him.”
“Why the fuck not.”
“He brings value in, even not as part of the Seven. Miss Americana and Soldier Boy can take over the leadership roles and Homelander is to be left alone.”
“He wants to kill-”
“I said to leave it be.” You stood, glaring down at him. “If an incident like this occurs again, there will be consequences. Dismissed.”
“Gonna throw us back in a hole? That’s kinda your thing isn’t it.”
“We know how to deal with problem children, even supe ones,” he said, standing up. “Back off before all three of you are worth more dead than alive. Don’t make me dismiss you again.”
You stormed out, slamming the door after you, not bothering to look back when you heard the wood splinter. You went straight to Dean’s apartment, Dean unscathed inside. But Homelander standing there, neither of them actively trying to kill the other, that was more than enough to forget your anger for the moment.
“You okay?” asked Dean, stepping over to grab your hand. You hummed, looking Homelander up and down. “You got the same message we did I’m guessing.”
“Behave or we’re all fucked. Yeah. Why the hell is he here?”
“We were spoken to at the same time. While he’s still a psycho and has some major fucked up issues, he has a different idea,” said Dean.
“Said the mass murderer.” Homelander rolled his eyes. “We all want to be in charge of the Seven. Be the best.”
“You shoved your hand down my pants,” you growled.
“True. But enemies can work together when they have a larger, common enemy, hm?”
“Edgar,” said Dean. “He wants to wipe out Edgar. Ashley is the next logical choice and we can control her. She wouldn’t do jack shit to us.”
“Remove Edgar from the equation and we can all get along. Maybe form a little, trio, best of the best. Still part of the Seven but top dogs. Vought would eat that shit up. Behind the scenes you two fuck or whatever it is you do. Publicly, we’re the strongest go America team there ever was. The soldier from a simpler time, the soldier who fought the terrorists and defend her country, and the everyday man who protects his fellow citizens. All walks of life, all the basis covered. Between the three of us our numbers are sky high in every single demographic.”
“What’s to stop us from killing each other after Edgar is out of the picture,” you said.
“You’re strong enough to kill me. But your little boyfriend can’t fly. You come after me, I’ll drop him in the ocean. Leave me alone, I leave you two alone and we all win,” said Homelander. “Deal?”
“What do you think?” you asked Dean.
“Lesser of two evils. I think,” said Dean. “I say we give it a chance to see if we can get Edgar out.”
“Fine. We can discuss this more tomorrow. Oh and Homelander. I ever catch you in my or Dean’s apartment again, I’ll snap your neck. Deal or no deal.”
“If you were only a little more twisted we could have had something,” he said. He nodded and left, Dean letting out a deep breath when he was gone.
“Y/N,” said Dean. You hummed, wrapping your arms around him. “Thanks. For catching me earlier.”
“I’m sure you would have been fine.”
“Probably but I don’t want to test that theory out. If he dropped me in the ocean...I still need to breathe. We have to play nice.”
“We will. Until we don’t have to,” you said. He smirked, kissing your lips. “He tried to kill you. Now I hate him even more. As soon as we can, he’s gone.”
“That’s my girl,” he grinned.
“Yes I am and you, you’re my Soldier Boy. We’re going to own this place, very, very soon.”
“Damn straight we are sweetheart. Just a little bit longer and then we can do whatever we want to. Promise.”

Alright so about Kristoph Gavin’s Black Psyche-Locks
Kristoph Gavin is my favorite villain, one of my favorite villains in any game. He’s a fun character. He’s charismatic, and ruthless, and yet I think if you really dig down into him, he’s still, ultimately, a very human monster at the heart of it all. But why is that? What is it about Kristoph Gavin I find so interesting? What secret motivations lie at the heart of this man that would drive him to murder, drive him to attempt to erase a literal child? Well, let’s explore this man in a little more depth, shall we?
So let’s start at the beginning. The Black Psyche-Locks. Kristoh’s Psyche-Locks were the first of their kind to appear in the series. When pressed, Kristoph explains he killed a stranger because he was “an evil human being.” It isn’t until Phoenix’s final accusation that suddenly, the Psyche-Locks click into place. “...I have to know. Why did you kill Shadi Smith? No... Zak Gramarye!?” Above all else, the reason Kristoph would go so far as to kill, his motive, is what prompts the Psyche-Locks to appear. But why, you ask? Isn’t it obvious? He killed Zak Gramarye for a whole host of reasons. To cover his tracks. To get revenge for being snubbed. And yes, those are all correct. Yet they fail to answer the most important question of all: What exactly is Kristoph keeping from himself?
According to Pearl Fey, “A red Psyche-Lock protects a secret that a person is consciously trying to hide. If the person folds under questioning, the lock breaks and the truth comes out... But a black Psyche-Lock protects a secret from the deepest place in a person's heart... ...a secret that that person isn't even consciously aware of… According to my research... A black Psyche-Lock is like a heavy chain wrapped directly around one's heart. If they are ripped off by force, it could cause permanent damage to a person's soul.”
So Kristoph killed a man, and he justified it. He’s vain, and he’s selfish. But that is all stuff that Kristoph is aware of. Conscious flaws. He’s a selfish, cruel man who justifies hurting those he perceived as wronging him. But what secret does he hold so deeply that it could shatter the very foundation of who he is?
So what, ultimately, does break the Psyche-Lock? It’s hard to say, as we never see Kristoph’s particular Psyche-Locks again once we take control of Apollo Justice. But we do see a breaking of sort: A Witness Breakdown. The series is full of them, to varying degrees of, uh, aggressiveness. BUT! It’s rare to see someone break down as completely as Kristoph does in his final moments on the stand. It’s not throwing a toupe and passing out. It’s not whatever the fuck happened to that goose hat in DGS. No, it is a complete and total breakdown. Screaming, hair disheveled. And laughter. Uncontrollable laughter.
So! What prompts this?
In the technical sense, it’s the reveal that Phoenix Wright outsmarted him. The jurist system, a system that went against all of Kristoph’s beliefs, implemented by the man whom he had already defeated once. It’s this one little detail that puts the final nail in his coffin.
But there are other little details around this moment that caught my attention. His reaction to the jurists, calling them “Riff-raff” or “a mindless, emotional mob of irrational mouth-breathers.” And then, there’s one last line, not from Kristoph, but from Klavier.
“Except for you, Kristoph. You aren't changing. You've stopped. You're not needed anymore.”
You’re not needed anymore.
And there. I think we found it. I think we found the chink in Kristoph’s armor. Kristoph, while vain, and entitled, and cruel, and monstrous, desperately needs to be needed. Not only that, Kristoph needs to be in absolute control of those around him. Kristoph is better than the people around him. Kristoph is better than Klavier. Kristoph is certainly better than Phoenix Wright. He is the most important man in the world, and anything that can threaten that is a threat to his very being.
Kristoph is a man who thrives on control. You can absolutely see it in the way he talks to Apollo, Phoenix, and Klavier. He needs to be the smartest man in the room at all times, even with the people he loves. Hell, especially with the people he loves. He needs them to look up to him. He needs them to need him.
Sometimes, people talk about how Kristoph didn’t love Klavier, and I don’t know if that’s the whole truth. I think that Kristoph loved an IDEA of Klavier. An idea of who he was and how he was supposed to behave. He loved a facet of Klavier, and that love was entirely conditional on Klavier behaving exactly as Kristoph thought he should. Klavier is the one who betrayed Kristoph first, you see? Klavier is the one who refused to be ‘lesser than,’ to adhere to the perceptions in Kristoph’s mind of who he should be. And every deviation from Kristoph’s control made him want to control Klavier the more.
It’s important to note that, before Phoenix even entered the picture, Kristoph began to pull the strings. I don’t subscribe to the notion that Kristoph was always willing to pay his way to victory, or murder anyone who got in his way. But this fight against his little brother was something that he could not lose, no matter what. He had to win. He had to win and take back control. Klavier was spinning out of his control. Klavier was rejecting him. He needed Klavier to obey.
There seems to be an element of control with every one of Kristoph’s personal relationships. His mentorship with Apollo was very much the same, though to a lesser degree. He was kind on the surface level, but quick to find ways to put Apollo down, to undermine him, to demand Apollo do what he say. I can’t imagine he was any different with Klavier, honestly, just with more time and more chances to slowly wear away at Klavier’s sanity.
On the other side, Phoenix Wright was a ‘friend’ he ate dinner with once a week. He was the only member of the ethics board (which HAHA Kristoph on an ethics board) to stand up for him, trying to frame himself as Phoenix’s savior, inserting himself into the story so as to never lose control of the situation. Once again, it comes down to control.
I was talking with a friend once, about the similarities between Kristoph and good ol’ Manny von Karma. Both have this weird obsession with perfection, but I think they come from wildly different character flaws. Manfred is a man who believes he is perfect, and nothing anyone says or does can shake that. Any challenges to his perfection are a threat, of course, but only because he feels entitled to the world bending to his will. He is perfect. Meanwhile, Kristoph is deeply insecure. His veneer of perfection hides a deep terror of being anything less than. A threat to his perfection is a threat to his very sense of self, sense of worth, and that must be destroyed at all costs. Still entitled of course, just also with the threat of collapsing in on itself at any moment.
Anyway. Uh. Hope that was coherent. I really like Kristoph.
