Naughty little Vikings commentary clip because I was in a mood. 👑 Don't get me wrong, I outright ADORE what Ivan has done with King Aelle and wouldn't want to miss his heartbreaking performance that overrode the huge storytelling flaws. He somehow managed to make this sudden and complete break of character with no lead-up or explanation whatsoever still look genuine and deeply touching.

I just dislike that they withheld any scenes from us in between that would've shown how this was even possible as it insults the intelligence of the audience and also deprived us of the profound experience of fully grasping and relating to the tragic dimension of King Aelle's character.

And I strongly dislike that such a shattering and gruesome end to a life of thorough integrity despite all adversities and a deeply moving struggle with spiritual uncertainty was presented in a way that invited gloating mockery, hence undermined any respect for King Aelle's heroic sacrifice, his virtues and good intentions and even for his suffering and agony.

King Aelle deserved better, we as the audience deserved better, and Ivan deserved better for all the love and care and thought and work he had put into his character - and for all the opportunities he had to let pass while bound by this contract. The range of his performances in this show, not least in this episode, shows what Ivan is truly capable of doing. He deserved not to be wasted just to fix conceptual flaws within a few minutes of screentime, but to be given the space to show us the compelling depths and layers of his character much more elaborately. Above all, he deserved his vision to be heard, his input to be considered, accomplished and experienced an actor as he is, and the end of his character, teased and highly anticipated from season 1 onwards, to be portrayed with due care and without haste.

klavier being nervous about serenading apollo because serenading someone is more personal than singing at a concert for thousands of people, so he takes apollo to his apartment hoping it'll alleviate his anxiety.

cut to apollo and klavier at klavier's apartment and klavier's hands are shaking before he even strums the first chord and apollo has to help him relax but once klavier starts he's incapable of stopping and starts wondering why he ever had anxiety about it in the first place, because apollo's watching him with so much affection in his eyes and god why didn't he do this sooner, apollo's joining in now and klavier's the happiest he's been in years

Why is it always the canonically ace or aroace character who gets sexually shipped with literally every other character with the justification "this character could be graysexual or demisexual!", but the moment you headcanon a character in a romantic relationship as greyromantic or demiromantic you get harassed by the entire fandom. Why is it always "aces can still fuck!" and "aros can still date!" and never "allos can still be romance/sex repulsed" or "allos can still be non partnering". I'm sick and tired of seeing aphobia and amatonormativity everywhere.

It's because they don't actually care about the a-spectrum or favorable aros and aces. They are using our identities as a loophole. they don't want to seem like an aphobe/bigot and so they found a loophole that allows them to do what they want with plausible deniability. They cannot fathom not being able to engage with shipping, romantic or sexual, and so they use the excuse of "Oh by aces can still have sex!" and "Oh but aros can still date" as a way to avoid being labeled as aphobic while still actively erasing aspec identities for their own pleasure.

it was never about actually being supportive of aspec people. it was about hiding their bigotry under false progressiveness so that they could pat themselves on the back for "being a good person" while getting exactly what they want. They only care about their own enjoyment and will do whatever they can to make it so their own enjoyment is framed as good no matter what because they only fear being perceived as a good progressive person. they don't care about actually being a good progressive person.

I imagine Kristoph Gavin was a 2nd violin in a string quartet when he was in college. He's absolutely the kind of guy to have played violin, and I would imagine he LOVED like. Haydn. But he's not showy enough to want the first violin position. And he gets SO perfectionist about the whole thing that the quartet ends up falling apart after 6 months.

So when his little brother is the lead musician in a successful band? AND has passed the bar and is about to debut as a lawyer? It makes Kristoph So Fucking Mad. Why does Klavier get to have everything Kristoph has strived to have. Why can Klavier do what Kristoph couldn't.

Kristoph doesn't know that behind the scenes Klavier is just as much of a control freak with his music as Kristoph was- Klavier is just able to keep his relationships based in kindness enough that it doesn't all fall apart.

- these vultures have a VERY unique diet!! they usually avoid meat, and instead eat bone marrow⁉️ i feel like you can relate this to godot in a few ways… (1) you could call it being “picky” or having “more refined tastes” ,, a godot vulture would 100% be like, “oh… you eat raw meat??? ha,, hahah hmmm, of course you would. *I*, on the other hand, only eat pure bone marrow” and (2) something about ignoring the meat and going just for the bones feels very,, thoughtful? like, not calculated, but purposeful?? idk, i don’t quite know how to explain it,, just vibes…..
