The Dog Knight, the first of the graphic novel series by demisexual creators Jeremy Whitley @jeremywhitley and Bre Indigo @breindigo, with colors by Melissa Capriglione @mcapriglione-art, is out now!

Frankie knows who they are. They’re a drummer, they’re nonbinary, and they’re… the Dog Knight? One day Frankie is a relatively normal middle schooler, with relatively normal challenges, like finding the perfect outfit to wear during their drum solo during the upcoming band concert. The next, they save a friendly golden retriever from bullies and suddenly find themselves in a giant magical doghouse, with a funny looking helmet, talking to a group of dog superheroes called the Pawtheon about a job offer. If Frankie can prove that they possess the six dog virtues of loyalty, kindness, honesty, justice, stubbornness, and smell, they will be named the Dog Knight and be given the power to fight alongside the Pawtheon and save the world from the forces of chaos. Maybe there is more to Frankie than they thought?

🌴✨ California Magic is a graphic novel series which follows a found family of monsters, magic users, and joe schmoes as they bumble their way into the nefarious inner workings of their home city.

I'm an ace person myself, so I wanted to create a series for mature readers that doesn't rely heavily on sexual content. Three of the prominent characters are acespec! Two of which are the main focus in our first completed story, which is now available to read here on Tumblr: @curiahcity

Asexuality vs Aromanticism

There’s nothing more I hate than people putting asexual & aromantic in the same category, or getting the two mixed up (which personally I don’t see much).

Asexual = little to no sexual attraction

Aromantic = little to no romantic attraction

Aroace = apart if both the ace & aro spectrums (not necessarily asexual & aromantic)

Therefore, yes, asexual people have the capacity to love someone romantically, so don’t be shocked when someone who’s asexual (or aromantic for that matter) tells you that they’ve found a romantic partner

(I also hate when people tell me I’ll never find someone to love because I’m asexual. I will and I have).

Because after all, sexuality is fluid

IT’S ACE DAY

so of course I’m friendly reminding you of my webcomic ELLIS for the special @acesincomics event.

ELLIS is a queerplatonic romance between a demisexual non-binary werewolf and a bisexual human who find themselves in an awkward situation when they both have a crush on the same unknown student.

There is chaos, there is support and cakes, there is a werewolf find out what they want of a romantic partner, there is a chaotic bi who lives very intense crushes, and above everything there are two close friends still learning and exploring. All made with the loveliest watercolours I could paint.

Hi! I’m Hope and I’m an Ace comic creator. I’m currently working on the comic “Corvid’s Eye” which you can read on tapas and on webtoon (link is in my pinned post) I also have another one brewing on the side but it’s still just brewing. I always like to have an ace representative in my work - especially trying to show off different kinds of ace and show how you can love and be loved. Even when you feel you can’t give all society ask of you in a romantic relationship - doesn’t mean you won’t find someone who’ll still love you no matter what.

Admittedly, it took me a very long time to figure myself out, and I'm still not done yet, but being open with friends online has allowed me to feel a bit more okay with being open around people in person.

I started by coming out as asexual, as being ace is the one thing I've always been 100% certain of, even when I didn't have a term for it. I'm not sex repulsed, but I have no desire for it. I'm basically indifferent.

I wanted to make one of my longtime main characters asexual to reflect myself, so I chose Art to take that on. He's equal parts anxious and bull-headed, which puts him at odds with himself. He knows he's capable of handling most any situation, but he's gonna stress about it regardless.

I feel Art and his wife, Rocky, embody a healthy relationship that has zero reliance on sex, or societal norms for married couples. They're in their late 20s-early 30s, don't desire children, and don't have sex. They also have one of the most healthy and strong relationships in my comic series. Rocky is also asexual.

...and then there's Oz, another main who's portrayed as more of a "middle of the road" character morally. A protagonist only in his own life, but can serve to be friend or foe to anyone else. His story involves him having been split from his fiance after she cheated on him, and Oz takes an incredibly long time to find closure within himself, with some unwitting help from Art.

Oz is demisexual and demiromantic, and he personally doesn't find interest in potential partners very often. He's hooked up with another person maybe a few times in his 32 years of living, and he doesn't particularly care to look around. He's in the "if it happens, it happens" boat when it comes to finding a partner. He doesn't actively pine for any sort of romantic or sexual meaning.

Oh, by the way, they're both shapeshifting monster folks.

Can we talk about the amazing representation inside the QSMP?

These days I've seen a few people (haters for sure) saying that the QSMP has few to none diversity and that makes me mad so let me list the diversity of this two month old server:

Inside of lore

We have diversity in family dynamics:

-Homoparental families

-"Nuclear" families

- A Platonic partner family (I don't know what's the proper word to describe Jaiden, Roier and Bobby's situation pls tell me if you know/ EDIT: I've been informed the proper term would be "Queer platonic relationship").

- Single parents

We have LBTQ+ representation:

-Gay characters

Roier

-Bisexual characters

Vegetta, Rubius

-Aroace characters

Jaiden, Maximus (he's actually acespec)

-Lesbian characters

Baghera (EDIT: Idk about her anymore, sorry)

-Trans characters -including gender fluid and non binary

Juanaflippa, Tilín, Leonarda, Maximus, Trump

-Characters with disabilities

Richarlyson (the Brazilians noticed he has a shorter leg and that's why fanartists draw him with a prosthetic leg + we have collectively decided he's black).

-MLM characters -I'm making it a separate cathegory just because the characters haven't specified a label. But if you know their label lmk so I can edit it-

From the moment Quackity included Latin Americans that already made the server diverse since us Latinos are one of the most diverse demographic groups in the world.

But still, let me elaborate:

Diversity of nationalities/ ethnic backgrounds

Mexican, English, Argentinian, American, Spanish, Norwegian (Rubius is half Spanish half Norwegian), Cuban (Maximus is half Spanish half Cuban), German and Japanese (Jaiden), Brazilian, Swiss and French (Baghera), Algeria and Turkish (Ètoiles) (for now).

We have people of color (some of them are clearly mestizos, meaning they have both native and white genes)

Quackity, Jaiden, Missa, Mariana, Roier, Forever, Maximus, Felps, Pac, Mike, Ètoiles, Spreen (please lmk if I'm missing someone I don't want to erase anyone especially because I'm talking about the actual CC)

We have diversity of languages:

Spanish, French, Portuguese and English (for now).

Now... The point that I've seen people the most confused about:

We also have LGBTQ+ REPRESENTATION IN REAL LIFE:

Jaiden (Aroace)

Rubius (Bisexual)

Vegetta (Bisexual)

Mike (Bisexual)

Tilín and Leonarda's admins (Non binary and gender fluid respectively)

Plus, the content creators that for now are classified as "Unlabeled" (Roier and Mariana)

There might be more that aren't out yet. Please stop assuming everyone's straight.

So yeah... The QSMP DOES have diversity.

(My only criticism is that we definitely need more female Content creators but hopefully we'll have them in the future. I'm looking at you Quackity, don't disappoint me. If I'm missing something let me know so I can edit it).
