Since I have too many thoughts of di Feisheng booba and dfs being a peacemaker.
How many problems do you think he stopped or arguments he ended by simply taking his clothes off and sitting topless in front of either Li Lianhua or fang Duobing?
Fang Duobing definitely cries about Di Feisheng being unfair with the stripping after he has already lost the battle and been sufficiently distracted.
Li Lianhua just goes very quiet and nods defeated before letting di Feisheng whisk him away.

yesterday I found myself in the jungle with six children. a wordschooling family had joined the expedition and I was awestruck by the fearlessness each of those girls showed. a vivacious tiny redhead leapt ahead of me when she saw me withdraw and tossed a snake aside before turning around red curls draped over her face, dirt on her nose, smiling brightly and says “…it’s okay! You’re safe!”.
she read my mind. I knew I was safe indeed.
a few miles later, her mother and I began to chat. they spoke of how they left Australia, and how they’ve traveled 11 countries with their girls. they call Nicaragua home now. the girls have acquired three languages in the interim and the fearlessness makes sense.
it was this unusual feeling of “ah you are the families I’ve read about”, years ago when I was sitting in a sterile IVF clinic, as the nurse would draw my blood, I would scroll through the world schooling groups dreaming of myself with a little babe strapped to my back as I climbed the mountains I’m now climbing.
it’s odd, I wonder sometimes if I released too quickly or if I made the wrong call. I wonder if I would have had two babies by now living in the little pink house by the sea on Yucatán.
and I think part of maturing is recognizing that sometimes the best call isn’t the one you always want to make. and two things can be true. I tried hard enough and I also could have tried harder…but not at the expense of my mental health.
only a few days ago, I had encountered a women newly postpartum in the town close by completely distraught by her baby’s inability to latch at the breast properly. we spent the next few hours troubleshooting and I made a new friend in the process. she asked me if I had children of my own and I didn’t have the words to explain. it’s difficult explaining sometimes.
instead I shook my head no and said I wasn’t given that gift. she surprised me and said I was fortunate. I thought about how motherhood is only a gift when there’s choice involved.
sometimes at night I find myself consoled by my ancestors, thinking of all the babies I’ve helped enter the world. all the mothers I’ve encountered, supported and nourished. I have helped build families even if it wasn’t my own. and I find this distinct peace in knowing that I have still found joy in my life even if didn’t look like I once thought it would.
and maybe that’s all that’s needed to have closure, knowing that joy still lives on if we seek it.

Something that I’ve really been thinking about since the last time I watched — the hospital was Quentin’s creation under the Scarlatti Web, right?
And yeah, everyone’s personification in this spell was an exaggeration to fit the “delusion” of this inner prison he designed for himself. But.
Eliot. Quentin’s figment of Eliot wanted him. Quentin’s fantasy established that they had an arrangement to sleep together in exchange for medications. And Eliot stuck close to him when he was starting to believe the delusions.
So somewhere, Quentin knows that Eliot is attracted to him. He knows that Eliot has been, in some level, trying to flirt/seduce him. And he knows that he wants Eliot, too.
But then he escapes the spell and he goes back to not acknowledging it and focuses on Alice and everything else.
All of this is to say that me noticing this shit drives me insane and it was so subtle and something needs to be done about it because I am unwell.

Color me confused
Y'all I have a question...
I'm working on Brin's story and was looking into the title "Junior Deputy" when it comes to Sheriff's offices and their programs.
Now, one thing I found about an actual program for Junior Deputies says "Members must be United States Citizens that reside within (place of program), and are between the ages of 12 years and 18 years of age."
Tumblr media
With that background info won't Dep/Rook be 18 at most? Because that certainly raises some questions (like why would Whitehorse make someone that would be considered an intern make such important arrest and so on)...
Or do we take the title as less literal and not grounded in reality? Like Ubisoft not looking into titles too much and meaning it as "a Deputy of the lowest rank". I always thought of it as the latter, but ... now I'm laughing at the visual of some poor kid whose "summer sheriff camp experience" went from 0 to 100 by being made to arrest some shirtless cult-y weirdo.

I saw screenshots for My Clueless First Friend and thought it looked adorable, so I gave it a shot. Yep, it's adorable. Also, it's pretty amazing.
Taiyo Takada, a 5th-grade transfer student, becomes friends with Akane Nishimura, a girl in his class. Thing is, the other people in his class relentlessly tease Nishimura for her dark wardrobe and melancholic looks, calling her the Grim Reaper. Nobody likes her. She's very practical and understands has resigned herself to her place at school, even going so far as to lie to her father about having friends at school.
Takada is her polar opposite. He is a ray of sunshine and exudes positivity to a fault. He also lives a little in his own fantasy world, always excited about supernatural powers, curses, ghosts, and so on. His slight delusion hides a cunning mind that he may not quite understand just yet.
Within the first couple of minutes of this show, Takada sees Nishimura once on his way to school and is interested. He sees her a second time at school and has already decided he loves her (in the most innocent, platonic way, mind you). When someone refers to Nishimura as the Grim Reaper, Takada becomes even more excited because, seriously, the Grim Reaper? How cool is that?! When people try to "correct" him, he turns their reasoning around on them to show that he still holds the superior position. Takada turns Nishimura's torment into a badge of honor. The boy showers the girl with such love and praise that she starts opening up and returns that love. People notice. Slowly, she starts making more friends because they discover she isn't the wall of protection she built around herself.
It gets even better when Takada learns about a tragic event in Nishimura's past. He connects the dots: the name "Grim Reaper" was always an insult. His response: he breaks down and takes responsibility for his failure. He knows he screwed up. This time, Nishimura becomes his ray of sunlight and explains how much her life has improved because he was in it. She knows he never meant ill intent and even demands that he call her the Grim Reaper because it is a statement of empowerment and endearment when it comes from him. When he accepted that, nothing could make her smile more.
Good relationships need and must forsake fear. When Nishimura is afraid of Takada's love, the friendship suffered and required reassurance that he was genuine. When Takada is afraid to express himself to Nishimura, the friendship suffered and required reassurance that she understood his communication. A good relationship is a two-way street where both people must participate, or they both fall.

I love being plagued by future Leonardo and present Leo fluff and emotional hurt/comfort(heavily leaning on comfort) at unholy hours of the day
They're just so silly to me, I love them sm
I want to throw them violently against the nearest wall and shake them aggressively/aff
But also I have not slept at all tonight(or much at all the past week for that same reason) and I am still wide awake-
Someone save me from this adorable hell

sam grows older and he starts to respect and admire john more as time passes. He can’t understand why, as dean gets older, dean resents the man more. Why they still can’t agree on john winchester.
it culminates with sam saying “well, he did alright, didn’t he? i turned out good! so did you.”
and dean gets this look, like he used to when sam refused to eat the cereal dean made him back when they were kids, and says, “sam, i did that. not dad.”

honestly, Carlos is a dom… The twist my arm line is just the icing on the cake of the canon proof for that…
But I do think he is a gentle Dom… Some people don’t realize that BDSM isn’t about hurting each other… I think all Carlos wants is to bring TK pleasure… And sometimes that involves seeing him squirm, tying him down so he gets out of his own head, and pushing his boundaries a little because he knows what TK can do… But never hurting!
That doesn’t mean they don’t switch… Not every time they have sex is a scene… And sometimes, even if rarely, even doms have to let go
thanks for sharing your opinion on this! as someone with no strong preference either way, I find it so interesting to hear other people's thoughts and interpretation of the TV show ❤️ everyone is valid in this house including service dom Carlos 😉

my mum forbade me to say anything to my dad about the top surgery thing, and it's just hit me how funny it would be if i got it done and didn't tell him and just waited for him to notice. i mean, what's he gonna say? "didn't you used to have tits?"

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

Tips for writing those gala scenes, from someone who goes to them occasionally:
Generally you unbutton and re-button a suit coat when you sit down and stand up.
You’re supposed to hold wine or champagne glasses by the stem to avoid warming up the liquid inside. A character out of their depth might hold the glass around the sides instead.
When rich/important people forget your name and they’re drunk, they usually just tell you that they don’t remember or completely skip over any opportunity to use your name so they don’t look silly.
A good way to indicate you don’t want to shake someone’s hand at an event is to hold a drink in your right hand (and if you’re a woman, a purse in the other so you definitely can’t shift the glass to another hand and then shake)
Americans who still kiss cheeks as a welcome generally don’t press lips to cheeks, it’s more of a touch of cheek to cheek or even a hover (these days, mostly to avoid smudging a woman’s makeup)
The distinctions between dress codes (black tie, cocktail, etc) are very intricate but obvious to those who know how to look. If you wear a short skirt to a black tie event for example, people would clock that instantly even if the dress itself was very formal. Same thing goes for certain articles of men’s clothing.
Open bars / cash bars at events usually carry limited options. They’re meant to serve lots of people very quickly, so nobody is getting a cosmo or a Manhattan etc.
Members of the press generally aren’t allowed to freely circulate at nicer galas/events without a very good reason. When they do, they need to identify themselves before talking with someone.
