I'm surprised by how endearing I find the friend group already lol They're supportive and funny! Also very queer! The way knowing Khai's an asshole for the first half but grows made my watch of Theory of Love more enjoyable, I think knowing that this show is over the top and involves some garbage collecting helped me enjoy it more instead of just being creeped out.

The couple trying to experiment with their ~positions~ and deciding they’re not feeling it. The way all the kids in the main friend group seem to have self-confidence issues (Toh convinced he’s a side character, Jao with his body image issues, Daisy is flamboyant and self-assured but when it actually comes down to it isn’t actually very confident “Who? Me? How can I have a boyfriend?) and in other stories they’d be the comedy gags or villains or punching bags but here, they’re the focus of the show and whenever we laugh, we’re supposed to laugh With them.

Makes them feel real.

I can’t believe it’s fucking over. I dragged the last episode over so long (and like nothing really happened except mushiness so dragging it was fine) and it was like 75 minutes long but still like dang, it’s fr over.

It’s a ridiculous show but it’s intentional about it.

The actors were freaking good. I don’t know how they managed to play these characters without breaking character to laugh every 3 seconds but kudos to them. They really embodied the characters and I didn’t really have moments where I thought the characters were too stilted or not emoting properly.

The story had a lot of heart, full of earnestness. I liked how it had like... so little conflict to be honest. It’s all about liking one another and supporting one another (even though... sometimes it’s enabling bad behaviour lmfao) and understanding one another and having fun.

Power of friendship! Power of queer friendship! Toh, Jao, Daisy, Som are soooo good!! The way they were always there for each other and teased each other and believed in each other T.T Flawed and insecure people who still loved and were loved T.T Nuea’s friends were great too.

The characters freaking liked each other and did their best to understand each other and were there for each other. There was seriously no major conflict between the pairs and that’s so good to me. They just liked each other, man. Nuea and Toh sooo in love and trusted each other and wanted the best for the other and just >.<

I wish we got more of the f/f Fon/KwanKong couple, as well as more of Daisy’s gender exploration and Intouch/Daisy becuase I felt like both of those were wrapped up too quickly in like 1 minute in episode 14 :/ Could’ve skipped the random Kong storyline and given us more of these. The cringe was still a lot sometimes and some parts made me raise an eyebrow and it’s not necessarily a masterpiece of a show but subverted expectations in such an eager, earnest manner.

Reviewing The Improbable Meet-Cute series

Book one - The Exception to the Rule - One typo, and a boy and girl connect by chance. Wishing each other a happy Valentine’s Day isn’t the end. In fact, it becomes a friendly annual tradition—with rules: no pics, no real names, nothing too personal. As years pass, the rules for their email “dates” are breaking, and they’re sharing more than they imagined—including the urge to ask…what if we actually met?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐... Without question! 🥰 Soooo cute! Sweet little love story that had me smiling the whole way through! The first half is written in an email format spanning 10 years which I actually really liked. Only (I think) 24 chapters, 80+ pages long, but you really get to know the mcs and fall in love with their love story! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a short and sweet read for Valentine's day! Definitely my favorite in the series! Plus the mmc, Callum, is 🥴😘👌

Book two - Worst Wingman Ever - Holly is dealing with the impending death of her grandmother and still reeling from a bad breakup. One bright spot: a Valentine’s Day card on Holly’s windshield—even if it wasn’t meant for her. An amusing mistake soon turns into a lovely exchange of anonymous notes, little acts of kindness, and a growing affection between two strangers. What happens when one of them has to say goodbye?

⭐⭐⭐⭐... Also very cute and fun! Again getting a good look into the mcs lives to get to know them separately, but wasnt revolved around them together as much. In fact they only interacted face to face twice the whole time, I would've liked more interaction so they could feel more right for each other by the end. Good story non the less!

Book three - Rosie and the Dreamboat - Rosie Whittaker and her sister are up for some Galentine’s pampering at a day spa. Getting locked inside a flotation tank is so Rosie. Enter a firefighter hero determined to pry this luckless pearl out of her high-tech shell. All Rosie has to go on is a dreamy voice and a flirty sense of humor. Remain calm, Rosie. This could be what you’ve been waiting for. Is this the man she’s waited for her whole life.

⭐⭐⭐⭐... This one is a hit or miss, but I personally loved it! A lot of people said it was too unrealistic, like Rosie (who supposably has ptsd) being so calm in her situation, being perfectly fine afterwards and not sueing the spa. Those things didn't bother me as much because after all... it is improbable love stories. It had really good and funny banter between the mcs, although very cringy at times. Overall I really enjoyed this one too! And for me Leo is also 🥴🥰👌

Book four - Drop, Cover, and Hold On - This Valentine’s Day, Daisy Murray has her heart set on binge-watching rom-coms. Instead, an earthquake traps her inside a bakery with its impossibly rude and insufferably handsome owner and head baker. They already have a history: she’s always smiled, he’s always scowled. Where better to finally get to know each other than amid the disaster? Then again, they have no choice. Besides, it could have its sweet, undeniable, and unpredictable perks.

⭐... Really disappointing. Boring, skipped though paragraphs that just thoroughly described a pastry or fmc getting texts from family and friends. The mcs had no connection with each other or the reader. They had a weird dynamic and just blah dialogue. They really didn't show any interest in each other until the end when they suddenly really wanted to have s*x. It was just weird, boring, and had nothing romantic about it... and I can't believe I didn't leave half way through.

Book five - With Any Luck - Audrey Love is cursed to be the person before you find your soulmate, the girl you dump for your true love. So when her best friend disappears hours before his Valentine’s Day wedding, Audrey fears that she did the unthinkable and kissed him at last night’s bachelor party. With help from the best man, she retraces her steps to find the missing groom and, with any luck, a true love of her own.

⭐⭐... This one was eh. The story had potential but it wasn't executed very well. Reading two disappointing stories back to back... I basically forced myself to finish this one, telling myself maybe the ending will be good... It wasn't. One brief surprise s*x scene with moderate detail was the most exciting part of the whole story, but I didn't enjoy it anyway since I wasn't enjoying the story. Disappointing to say the least.

Book six - Royal Valentine - Did not read. Literally, I was so disappointed with the last two that I didn't even read the last book. Didn't want to waste my time if it wasn't going to be good.

The first one is definitely the best and the one I would most likely read again. The second and third are still good, the third being my favorite of the two. The last ones.... 😶‍🌫️

Also these are all written by different authors but two of them mentioned 90s Brendan Fraser to describe the guys... Which I found humorous but also kinda lazy writing ???

on to Show and Tell! back to an OG 4-pager with this one!

i bet this is the chapter that originally introduced lucy’s deaf ear! i mean, they haven’t really brought it up since the prologue chapter, i think.

we’ve got some great faces in this one. the eyes in the early pages are so appealing to me, we’ve got the dot eyes and the “kirby eyes” (pictured above) and then we get that sorta fusion of them that kinda looks like the eyes i draw!

see, like that. also what’s this about girly romance movies? BRING THAT BACK!!! that would be such a cute reference omgggg

anyways yeah, the bit of this chapter is genetics and the different species of the cats! lucy’s deaf ear is attributed to her being a blue-eyed white khao manee, which reflects real life! lucky that she didn’t lose it in both of them. they do a cute bit where yashy thinks her own blue eyes will turn her deaf. i really miss jokes like that, the pets are so cute...

anyways mike’s a korat (makes a point of being like “surprised im not a russian blue?” which after looking at them im kinda surprised too!) and daisy comments that she thought mike was a british blue shorthair because he’s “so intellectual.” first of all, he’s totally not a british shorthair and daisy is stupid, but more importantly, what an interesting lore bit this is! everybody is so knowledgeable about cat breeds (makes sense! they’re cats!) but they also have preconceived biases about people of those breeds, likely based on common traits those breeds share in the real world. if you wanna overthink it a bit, daisy just racially profiled mike! looks like yashy is taking the second-place for racism this time around.

daisy is half selkirk rex and half ragamuffin. looking at pictures of those cats, it seems like she represents her breed best when she’s been out in the rain for a bit! she must put a lot of work into those curls.

check out this sequence at the end of page 3. this is soooo cute! lucy getting so visibly envious of someone else getting attention from mike feels like a rarity...

paulo shows up to boast about his breed too! the more they compare their genetics, the weirder it feels. but in a goofy way, because it’s all obviously so lighthearted! paulo is a somali, and the way his breed looks in real life reminds me of a warrior cats character. he mentions his dad is “kinda lion-ish,” can’t wait to see that guy. i headcanon him as sounding like bob from bob’s burgers.

this is another really cute sequence. i like seeing mike and lucy just be friends. sooo cute... and LOOK AT DAISY!! THE SPELL CANNOT BE BROKEN!! PAULO IS TOO COOL!! i’m huge on paulo x daisy so i’m probably gonna gush like that whenever i see them together, haha

the following panels are also such a fun microcosm of what paulo and lucy are. it’s like, the easiest way to explain their dynamic to someone. so perfect!

anyways, yashy claims to be a golden retriever (obviously unintentional but it reminds me of all those “attack helicopter” jokes from like 2016) and david shows up asking to hook up with the supposed golden retriever, only to see yashy and blanch, somehow avoiding getting called the p-word. i wonder why mike gets singled out so much? poor guy.

in the final panel, we get a really funny david drawing and they toss in sue and amaya’s breeds for us to gobble up like the LEECHES we are. obviously, sue is a european burmese, but she’s missing some of the markings you might expect from a cat like her. amaya is a super obvious tabby though, she’s right.

i figured i wouldn’t have much to say about this chapter, since it’s pretty one-note. i’m fine with putting it all in one big post! NEXT TIME: Gone Fishing!

Hello! January is birthday month for my children, and now that we got the last one down, time to get right back in ~ In the spirit of parenthood, here’s some Stardew Parent Headcannons of all the marriage candidates -

Bachelors

Alex

The kind of dad to be at every appointment/interview/inspection and cry at every point of progress “we’re one step closer to our beautiful baby”

Will absolutely cry once he holds that baby, and will have a hard time letting them go to his partner

Baby wearing extraordinaire- has multiple options for different occasions

Matching track suits to hide the fact that they were both a hot mess that morning trying to get out the door, but they did it, so time to celebrate

Would ironically have a brainiac child that he is absolutely enamoured with and admires - he sits at their little table, spilling out of the tiny chair, but refuses to budge because his baby is telling him about the water cycle of the Earth, and he doesn’t want to miss a thing

Elliot

A very ‘hands off’ parent - will observe them at play and not pressure them in any particular way

Probably a Waldorf dad

Sits his babies in his lap every night to read- they are the first ones he tests out a new limerick on, and respects their criticisms as much as their praise

Lots of evening walks down the sea shore and the forest edge.

Out of the bachelors, I think would be the most sensitive/attune to them, and would be great at breaking down their complex emotions and thoughts, and would especially be so with any neurodivergent children.

Harvey

The type to plop down a stack of parenting and pediatric books on the dining room table as soon as you two have decided to welcome children into your lives

Is the one to show the farmer how to change a diaper

In fact, just count Harvey as the one to be the party planning, baby book filling, milestone documenting professional. He’s got it covered.

Loves the newborn stage, is terrified of toddlerhood, but then back in control once they’re like 6. And then terrified again once they are teenagers (his kids actually consider him a friend as well as a father and actually enjoy hanging out with him (sometimes))

100% a helicopter parent, but more so the ‘I love you so much I don’t want you to ever experience any pain’ type of way

Sam

Probably has an accidental love child at one point

You can find him in bed with the baby, singing songs together, while he spikes the baby’s hair nice and tall

Do you honestly think this young man would not use every dad joke ever known? Because he would- and he would find them all absolutely hilarious

The fun dad that will also actively try to embarrass his kids in front of their friends

Keeps his kids home for “sick days” to sit on the couch together, no pants, no homework, and all laughter.

Sebastian

Would be stressed when they are newborns, but relax as they get older. By the time they’re teens, he would have cultivated a very trust and respect-based relationship with them where his kids are comfortable telling him anything

You’ll find him quietly at every event, game, recital, competition, imaginable. Supporting his children with his presence and then taking them out that evening to do something fun, crazy, or maybe even a little dangerous

His most fond parenting moments are when the baby is in their bouncer right besides him, happily babbling away and smiling at him, while he does his work at the computer. Quality time is his baby love language.

The type of dad to patiently and honestly answer his children’s millions of questions about anything and everything.

Is already pretty experienced in the parenting realm, but is thrown into a whole new adventure with the newborn phase. Finds himself to truly LOVE babies and toddlers

Would let his kids roam free, but only if he is supervising, and is actually kinda strict/short. Absolutely fears losing his children and will do anything and everything to make sure they grow up safe and cared for.

A very stressed daddy but only because he loves his children so much that he would die if anything happened to them

The best cuddler out of all the bachelor parents. Wanna soft spot to curl up on the couch? He’s already passed out with his head back, snoring. His nice pudgy ‘dad’ belly makes the perfect pillow to rest baby heads on while he reads a book.

Bachelorettes

Abigail

The fun parent.

The kind that wakes up early on a Saturday with their kids, just as excited as they are, to eat sugar cereal and watch a show together.

Is always down to play (especially play fight). Will (endearingly) spook their partner a bit when they rough house because Abby has that wild feral look in her eye too often

The competitive parent that gets just a liiiitle too involved in whatever sport/organization/fair/et.al that the child is partaking in-all in good fun, of course.

I can picture her taking her child out to the forest, late at night, to lay on the soft moss. She’d tell them about monsters, lore, crystals, and everything supernatural and mystic. Whispering in the dark as they point up to the stars and laugh and laugh and laugh

Emily

Hippy granola mom to a T - have you seen her “organic quinoa and fresh goat milk” quote? She’d do anything to provide the best that nature has to offer her children

While her disposition toward her children is incredibly loving and free-spirited, she would probably be very resposible and stressed about doing right for her children

Would absolutely take her children by the hand, in various states of dress (jammies? Okay. Just a diaper? Alright. Ballgown? Let’s go), out to the forest with handmade woven baskets to collect all the gifts from the Earth that they can find

Absolutely the Craft Mom - she’d be all about enrichment, sensory play, and fostering a creative spirit

Tells the best stories. After bedtime routine, will sit with her children in thrir bed, and will tell stories of magic, of love, and of adventure. Her kids, eyes bright, won’t want the night to end, because mom is showing us how much wonder and mystery is in the world

Haley

So gentle and so sweet with her kids, but can send them running with just a ‘look’

Would be a nervous wreck the first go round, but an absolute master by the time the second comes around

Helicopter parent that obsesses over every milestone, growth, and accomplishment of their child. SO proud of them and can’t wait to praise them and brag about them.

The wonder parent that can do it all while looking absolutely breathtaking. She makes it look easy once she gets the hang of it

Can’t you just picture her and her baby girl in matching flowy Daisy sundresses dresses with pink ribbons in their beautiful blonde curls, chasing after each other barefoot in the fields, while the golden grass dances in the wind- gah I love this pretty pretty princess so much.

Cool Wine mom that drives a Subaru

Would absolutely read her child to bed every night, until they fell asleep.

Her transition into motherhood was flawless. She’s a natural parent who just loves in abundance

Soooo many nature walks, hikes, and camping trips. Always accompanied with a picnic basket, quiet peacefulness, and heart to hearts about whatever is going on in their life.

The definition of free-range parenting, encouraging self discovery and independence. Yeah, she’ll always step in when needed with some kind encouragement or advice, but would much rather watch her children learn about the world on their own terms

Maru

The do-it-all parent. Signs up for activities, projects, school boards, committees, and teams. Is actually on time, prepared, and succeeds in all of these.

The most prepared and responsible out of any of the parents. Always has snacks in her diaper bag and a first aid kit

Would show love for her children through learning and new experiences-the best part about being a parent for her is watching her child’s brain turning and working as they think about the environment in front of them. At her best, her kids think she is incredibly fun and they have a blast doing anything and everything with her

Not exactly tender/overly affectionate with her kids, but absolutely concerned about being the best mom she can be by having balance of learning, play, discipline, and love.

Literally just Miss Honey from Matilda

Pinterest mom. All the crafts, DIYs, bento boxes with cute little caterpillar grapes-you name it, she’s already done it AND packed your backpack and laid your clothes out for you.

Can be heard saying “well the pediatrician said...” “hm well that’s not what dr alberts book said to do” among other “first time mom”things

Can be incredibly anxious worrying about their child’s development and well being. She’s been around kids her entire life, but this is HER child? This one doesn’t go home at the end of the day? Everything has to be absolutely perfect

The most sentimental-would absolutely weep going through the baby box to pull out the teeny tiny booties and smelling the baby blanket - “they were just SO TINY- we need another one NOW.”

And also just to get like ur perspective of it would be cool bc I feel like as someone who also has a blog and creates posts, some of my favorites are the ones with the least notes 🥴 idk I’m just rambling now lmao

Omg I love you for asking this because it gave me a chance to go back through my masterlists for the first time in a while and ugh I have so many good memories with these fics :( it's hard to pick just one fic per couple bc I like them for different reasons and I'm indecisive soooo I chose two for each couple (and I gave reasons bc I can't help myself):

jin x poopsie:

“What’s wrong? Do you want attention?”

it's just so lowkey, I like the inclusion of poopsie and jin's mom talking, and I just think it's very playful which is this couple's whole dynamic.

“I happen to have this mood ring, and it would be very helpful to me if you would put it on.”

again, the playful vibe, the sincere love, the inclusion of the jk/jin beef lol also this one is one of my very very early ones, like before I even knew these couples were going to be a thing. It's not my best writing by any means but I love the concept and the scenario.

yoongi x kid:

“You just want to get back to your Zuko fan fiction.”

I don't even know what it is about this fic, I just really liked how this one turned out. I like the little nerves, the flirting, the obvious feelings, just yeah :(

lowkey, flirty, comfortable in a very min/kid way, it's always been one of my fav fics of mine period.

hoseok x petal:

“The displeasure was mine.”

this is probably my favorite fic for how any of the couples met. I love that they're both very much just themselves and they're polar opposites, they annoy each other a bit but they're fascinated by one another.

“I could never want less of you.”

I just like how they work through this insecurity and conflict together and I remember being quite proud of how this one turned out. It's hard to find conflicts for these two but I thought this one was very real and ugh this was another that was sad but felt good to write.

namjoon x daisy:

“The strings are attached already.”

this one legit broke my fucking heart to write lol but I love Joon's vulnerability and the way Daisy is in this battle with her heart. So sad but I can't help but like it.

“I’m not asking for forever.”

I love the way Joon assures Daisy in this one and how she opens up in a very sincere way because she believes Joon deserves to be let in. And I've gone back and re-read what Joon tells Daisy a few times because that shit hits.

jimin x dear:

"Did I really get to shag you last night?"

I've always loved this one, it's fun and cute and there's the little bit of insecurity there that Dear squashes and I love JK in this one too.

“How could you hide something from me? I’m the love of your life.”

after everything this couple went through, they just deserved this moment. Writing this was so satisfying, I loved giving them this. (I'm too emotionally invested in these couples lol)

taehyung x peaches:

“Want me to kiss it better?”

I like showing where they started compared to where they are now and this one was just a lot of fun to write. It's goofy, sweet, intimate, supportive, and just very much Tae and Peaches.

“Wait, I’m nervous.”

I loved writing this one :( they've been in love for a while at this point but this was still such a special moment for these two and ugh again, they just deserved this moment.

jungkook x holly:

“Should I get this one tattooed for real?”

I was really tempted to put “I think it’s the doe eyes” instead of this one but I just love the intimacy of this one too much. I like JK encouraging Holly's creativity, the idea of him tattooing one of her drawings for real, them just like existing in their apartment together, I just really enjoyed writing this one.

“That could have been so hot.”

I loved writing the return to the laundromat and I like how this turned out lol. It's flirty, fun, silly, they tease each other, just the epitome of what makes guk and holly.

(A/N): BACK ON MY BULLSHIT WOOOHOOOOO

Mini Summary: (Y/N) is the owner of a small little flowershop in the outskirts of Malie city, where they have a lovely little chat with their boyfriend Guzma about the simple things of life.(In which Guzma doesn't know what a daisy is, and where (Y/N) bribes Guzma into doing housework with kisses.)

"Oi, (Y/N). Got any of those daisies you're always talkin' about?" Guzma leans over the counter, propping his head up with his elbows and shining his signature shit eating grin. You grin in response, gently booping his nose with the pen you had been using to write some checks. The gentle blush that spawned where you tapped him is enough to make that grin grow. "Uh, they should be over there next to the roses." "Right, right. Those are uh- The white ones, right??" You stop. "Guz... are you telling me you don't know what daisies are?" "To be fair, I only really got inta this kinda stuff once I found out you worked here, heh-" Standing up and adjusting his hood, Guzma's grin turns to more of a sheepish one. You can't help but smile softly at his efforts to connect with you and point to the collection of red roses near the entrance. "The daisies are the one with the yellow centers." "I can see why these ones are your favorite!" He gently grabs a single daisy and wanders back to the front desk, sticking the stem behind your ear. "They're cute." The fact that his hand is this close to your face is enough to send you swooning, but you manage to keep your composure. However, it's this next comment that gets your knees buckling. Guzma grins and cups his hand around your face. "Just like you." You nearly topple over, and this is exactly the reaction Guzma was expecting. He steps backwards, letting out a loud laugh. It's a wonder that you haven't spontaneously combusted because of Guzma yet, but your face is definitely on fire as of right now. "Reeeaaaal smooth, Guz." You muster a smile through the embarrassment and lean on the desk. "Yup!" He returns your smile, pointing at his chest with his thumb in an enthusiastic manner. "Like butter!" Shaking your head, a ghost of a laugh escapes your lips. "Do me a favor and make yourself useful, 'kay? I gotta close up shop soon." "Whaddya mean 'make myself useful'?! I'm plenty useful on my own!" Feigning a pout, Guzma slumps over. "Besides, I'm tiiiiiired. Bein' such a stud is hard work, ya know." "I'm sure it is." You roll your eyes. "Just grab the broom next to the door and sweep up the fallen petals on the floor for me?" He lets out another exaggerated groan and flops the upper half of his body onto the counter. "Are ya gonna at least pay me?" 'Oh my lord-' You smirk and look down at the literal wall of a man. "With what, exactly?" "Weeeeeeellll- If money's too much of a stretch, I get that. I can settle for some cuddles and smooches-" His grin widens. "Nerd." You shake your head once more. "I'll think about it, but while I do that, can you pleeeaase help me with the floor? It would make my day." "I ain't a nerd, (Y/N). I'll have ya know that I'm PLENTY scary when I wanna be." Still sprawled on the counter, he decides to purposely ignore your request. "There's a reason I'm known as 'the human form of destruction'." "Mhm- I'm shaking in my boots, soooo scary~" You jest, poking his nose. "Whaddya mean?! I'm the hated boss that beats you down and beats you down and never lets up, ya know." His face is currently the embodiment of the ':c' emoticon. You also frown, not really sure how to respond to this. Guzma then adds, "But not to you. Never to you." Smiling softly, you bend down to press a gentle kiss on his lips, running a hand through the fluffball that is his hair. "I know." "I take back what I said about the flower thing-" Guzma's sheepish grin makes your heart backflip. "You're way prettier than any of the plants in this place." "You're just saying that to get out of sweeping the floor." "Hmmmm, maybe- Did it work?" You snicker. "Nope. Nice try, though." Another overdramatic sigh escapes your boyfriend's lips. "Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine- But I'm expectin' payment." Your smirk grows. "Well, better get to it, then." He gives you a sloppy wink and gets to sweeping the floor, humming some stupid little ditty as he does so. He looks so stupid, but you aren't complaining. Stupid doesn't always have to mean something bad, after all.

Daisy felt like crap. She just got back home from a long, long mission that seemed as if it had dragged on for weeks (it hadn’t). More importantly, she felt like she hadn’t seen Daniel for weeks (she had, in fact, seen him just six days ago). The night air was chilly as she trudged up the stairs to one of her safe-houses. She frequently crashed here after missions, so she wasn’t surprised when Daniel opened the door and bear hugged her.

“Umph.” Daisy was sore, and her head hurt like a hangover made of bees, but Daniel’s soothing presence relaxed her. He lifted her chin and gave her a deep kiss on the lips. Sousa would love nothing more than to hold her like this for a couple hours minimum, he knew that Daisy needed time to decompress by herself after missions. He helped her inside and shut the door behind them. Daisy's stomach growled. She peered inside the fridge and settled for a tomato and cheese sandwich. Daisy sat at the kitchen island and munched tiredly. Daniel sat on the couch and silently studied her. Something, he thought, is off.

“Sweetheart?” he called.

“Yea?” she replied, around a mouthful of bread.

“Are you, uh, feeling okay?” The genuine concern in his voice caused Daisy to sit up some and look over herself.

“Do I look that bad?” she wasn’t offended, just surprised. There were a couple tears in the legs and one on the side of her suit from the brambles she had had to run through, and she wore dirt all over her face from the dust that had kicked up after she quaked the enemy assailants back about fifty feet. She honestly didn’t think she looked that bad. A tiny frown appeared on her face before Daniel quickly shut down her train of thought.

“No, no, you look amazing as always,” Daniel got up quickly and stepped across the dark wood paneled floor into the old tiles that covered the ground in the kitchen. “No, Dais, that isn’t what I’m saying.”

As he reached her, he pressed a kiss to her forehead and brushed her hair out of her face. Daniel had to admit, she looked very cute when she was tired. However, he was too worried about how out of it she looked that he couldn't fully appreciate her adorable state.

“Then what? Do I have leaves in my hair or something? I could’ve sworn I got them all out!” she began to comb her hair out with her fingers. Daniel just grinned. When she was satisfied that there weren’t any leaves in her hair, she glanced back up at him. His hands were on his hips, and he was using his new prosthetic leg that Jemma and Fitz had designed for him. She returned his grin and hopped off the counter so that she could wrap her arms around his gorgeous shoulders. Suddenly, her vision swam with little black dots and she couldn’t quite get her balance. Daniel reached out to steady her with a little more than worry in his eyes this time.

“Look at that,” Daisy grinned wider, “I’m actually falling for you.” Daniel let out a low sort of chuckle and sighed. “Daisy, I think you need some sleep.”

Daisy patted his chest and nodded. “Probably.” As she said it, she let out an involuntary yawn, “Okay, so definitely. I need sleep.”

Daisy began to walk back to her bedroom. It was cozy, and the colors reminded her of her bunk on the zephyr. There was a large bed with an old, wooden nightstand to match in the corner, and a few bean bag chairs and a short floor desk so that she could work at night. The bed was covered in comfy quilts and a soft, lavender duvet. No one would have guessed that a superhero lived here except for the hexagonal panels lining the walls, ceiling, and floor. Simmons and Daisy agreed to install them after Daisy almost leveled the house during a nightmare. It had been Daniel who suggested painting them, so that she wouldn’t feel as enclosed, like a caged animal. Daisy had been all for protecting those around her, insisted on it even. That doesn’t mean she didn’t feel weird having her bedroom look like the containment module. So, with Daniel, Coulson, and May's help, she painted the walls a homey grey and covered the floor in colourful mix-matched rugs. She left the ceiling white.

Daisy trudged over to her bed and slowly started taking her gear off, but got stuck with the zips and hidden ties.

“Hey, uh, Sou-” she coughed, “I need some help!” Her voice was muffled by the fabric of her suit. Daniel came to lean on the door frame. He smirked at the sight before him. Daisy’s arms were twisted behind her trying to undo a zipper, but had gotten caught while trying to pull it down. Subsequently, the material she had already loosened in the front rose up to reveal her tan, toned stomach. He walked over slowly and put his hands on her waist.

“Mmmhm, Danny-boy, if you want me to sleep you need to just help me out of this damn suit!” she heard a chuckle and a soft ‘okay’ in response. He reached around her and undid the zipper, freeing her hands of the black fabric. She pulled the top over her head and went to get a sleep shirt.

Daniel stopped her. “I’ll get it. You just relax.”

Daisy was too tired to argue. She undressed from the rest of the suit and took the over-sized, comfy clothes he gathered. She pecked his cheek before going to the bathroom to wash her face and put the clothes on. Daniel watched her walk into the bathroom, a bright pink blush on his cheeks when she turned around and noticed him staring. At least he didn't cover his eyes when she changed anymore.

Daisy closed the door and turned the lights on in the bathroom. This was the first time she was able to good look at herself after the mission. She really did look like hell. The scars on her stomach and legs were a tad irritated from wearing her tac gear for so long, and her eyes also looked red. She ignored it and made a mental note to use the healing ointment Jemma had packed in her duffel bag on the red, raised tissue. She leaned forward to get a better look at herself. Her nose itched. Daisy quickly forgot about it as she finished getting ready for bed and slipped into the shirt and shorts that Daniel had handed her.

When she stepped out of the bathroom, Daniel wasn’t there, but she could hear him in the living room down the hall. She still felt horrible, but the warm, coffee-and-vanilla scent that was just Daniel lulled her into a deep sleep as soon as her head touched the pillow.

When Daisy woke up the next morning, she felt absolutely disgusting. She grumbled as she tried to sit up. Her head was pounding, the pressure centered right between her eyebrows. She noticed the bottle of water and pills sitting on her bedside table, and promptly took them. Her nose hurt now, and her body was achier than it had been last night. She could probably sleep for another hour. Instead, she forced herself onto wobbly legs to take a scalding hot shower. The steam felt good on her muscles, and cleared her senses enough that she could properly breathe. She dressed in a clean t-shirt that she recognized as one of Sousa's and a pair of grey sweatpants (also Sousa's, Daisy stole them). Daisy trekked down the hall towards the warm, inviting couch.

Daniel felt more than heard Daisy arrive in the living room, but only turned around when he heard a large crash!

“Daisy! Are you okay? What happened?” Daisy was currently laying on the floor next to a fallen lamp.

“Ow…” she . “I turned the corner and this lamp was here.”

Daniel crutched over to her, then gracefully sat down beside her. “Sorry Dais, didn’t know the lamp was an enemy combatant.”

She gave a tired laugh. “I should’ve looked. I don’t feel great right now. I was practically sleepwalking down the hall.”

Daniel looked over Daisy. He noticed she was wearing his clothes, and tried not to show exactly how that affected him. Daisy snapped him out of his reverie with a small sneeze. Without missing a beat, he handed her his handkerchief. Daisy still thought it odd that he had one, but felt extremely glad he did. Daniel thought he heard a low mumble of ‘cute square’, but couldn’t be sure. Daisy was definitely cute, even when sick.

Daisy groaned as she clutched her head. Daniel swung himself up, and she noticed his leg was... not a leg. Daisy smiled. Knowing that he felt safe enough in her house to relax and not wear his prosthetic made a little bubble of warmth blossom in her chest. Daniel reached a hand down to help her up, and with expert balance, helped her up to her feet. He pressed the cool back of his hand to her forehead. Daisy leaned into the touch.

“That feels good. Like, really good.”

Daniel gave her a quizzical stare. “Has anyone ever taken care of you while you were sick?”

Daisy was incredulous. “I’m not sick!”

Daniel replied with a raised eyebrow and took his hand away from her head. She leaned forward slightly, chasing his hand before stopping herself. It dawned on Daniel that she hadn’t had parents to take care of her when she was a kid, and there was no way she would have let the team nurse her if she came down with something.

“C’mere,” Daniel led her over to the couch and handed her a thick blanket. She took it and tried to spread it over her legs. Daniel laughed a little as she failed miserably. Daisy pouted and sighed, frustrated. Daniel took the blanket and flourished it, then laid it gently over her.

“Square,” she teased. An adorable square.

“Your square, though.” Daniel grabbed her hand and pressed a kiss to her palm, then her knuckles and wrist. Daisy didn’t want to admit how good it made her feel. Daniel got up as he directed her to stay there. “I’ll get some stuff to help.”

Daisy dozed in and out while Sousa gathered what he needed. She could smell something delicious in the kitchen, and heard Sousa walking around. When he was finished, he woke Daisy up with a shake of her shoulder. He carefully helped her sit up.

“Let’s go,” he stated, with a mischievous smile.

“Go... where?” she questioned. The look in Sousa’s eye was making her slightly nervous. No, not nervous... just jittery with anticipation. Huh. Daniel started to walk away, checking over his shoulder to see if she was coming. She quickly shook her head and got up. She followed him down the hall to the bathroom, where a warm bath was waiting.

“Honey?”

“Yes, dear?” Daniel was leaning against the counter, arms crossed, and staring at

Daisy as if she was the only light in the universe. His gaze made her feel all mushy inside, and she pushed down the tears that almost welled up. Daisy told herself it was because she was sick (but we all know it wasn't). Daniel broke eye contact and pushed himself off the counter.

“I’ll be in the kitchen," Daniel winked and gave her kiss on the cheek, then left Daisy standing dumbfounded next to the tub. "Holler if you need me.”

She touched where he kissed and promptly undressed. The bath felt like heaven. If only she could keep her eyes open...

She was woken around fifteen minutes later by the smell of something she could only describe as mouthwatering coming from the kitchen. She toweled off and put on a t-shirt and the shorts she wore the night before. She tip-toed to the kitchen and wrapped her arms around Daniel. Daisy rested her head in between his shoulder blades. She lifted her head and he turned around to place his hands on her waist, slowly pulling her in.

“I don’t think this is safe next to a stove.” Daisy quipped. Daniel murmured something incoherent in her hair. She peered over his shoulder to see what he was cooking.

“Soup?” Daisy questioned, “You... made me soup?” Daniel suddenly seemed shy. He looked away, unsure if he was stepping too far, or if she even liked soup. Even groggy and sick, Daisy picked up on this. She threw her arms around him and whispered into his shoulder. “Thank you, Daniel. No one's ever done this kind of thing for me.”

His face warmed at hearing her call him Daniel. It wasn't often that she did that, usually she stuck to a silly nickname or called him ‘Sousa’ out of habit.

“Anything for you, sweetheart.” Daniel leaned in for a kiss, but Daisy quickly leaned away. Daniel sent her a confused, pouty, adorable glare.

“I-I don’t want you to get sick,” she stuttered by way of explanation, “You should probably stay away until I’m feeling better.” In spite of her words, when Sousa slowly leaned in, she mirrored his movements.

“So, you do admit you’re sick.” Daniel whispered with a triumphant smile. Daisy wanted to argue, but realized there was no way out of this. She pushed him away and shuffled over to the living room, flopping dramatically on the couch.

“Yes, fine! I’m sick.” Daisy closed her eyes to go back to sleep, then remembered the soup that Daniel was currently pouring into bowls, and sat up. He brought it over and carefully handed it to her. She tried a spoonful and burnt her tongue the first time. When she tried again, she looked up through her lashes at Daniel sitting beside her, intently waiting for her verdict.

“Oh my god, this is amazing!” she half-moaned with delight. “You need to cook more often.”

Daniel watched her eat the soup quietly, and took her bowl to the sink when she was finished. When he got back, Daisy had turned on the TV and was watching Singing in the Rain. He smiled at the familiar picture. They spent the next couple hours watching old movies and cuddling. Daisy had protested at first, but gave in when Daniel threatened to tell Jemma she was sick. Daisy happily drifted to sleep with her head on Daniel's chest and the rest of her wrapped around him like a koala.

She woke up early the next morning, and somehow got up without waking Daniel. She padded over to the fridge to pour a cup of orange juice, swallowing a couple pills to help get rid of the last dregs of her cold. She felt really good. Better than good, actually. She felt warm and loved and she had a soft smile on her face as she watched Daniel snooze.

Little did Daisy know, Daniel had absolutely caught her cold. Daisy also didn't know exactly how needy Daniel is when he’s sick.

It was in order- in your mind to take time off for yourself. Getting up every morning at 5 to train hard your mind and body. All you wanted was one day to enjoy having fun and being a teenager.

You giggled at your pathetic bucket list. To think on yours it would say go out to a mall or market when back on earth that was something so insignificant and so easy to accomplish. But you hadn’t done something exciting and something for yourself in a while.

You practically begged Shiro to let you to go to the mall today. After much butting he finally gave in. You knew pouting your lip out and whining almost like a puppy would do the trick.

You didn’t waste time in getting dressed and doing your makeup. You wanted to look fierce on your day out.

A knock was heard on your bedroom door.

“Where are you going?” Lance, your boyfriend raised his brow as he stood by your doorway, arms crossed. He was a bit jealous that you were going out looking so hot and you hadn’t invited him.

“I’m going to the mall,” you applied lipstick.

“Without me?” He pouted.

You chuckled and went to hug him, squeezing hard. “What are you waiting for then? Get ready? We’re having a date.”

Going into the mall- it already made a huge smile on your face. The smells reminded you of home. Food, perfumes, creams, the clothing were of different colors and of different alien races customs. It was like a walking into a whole different world.

Lance giggled as he saw your face and scooped you up, kissing all over your cheeks. “Aw, you’re so cute, you know that. What do you want to try first?”

You sniffed the air and couldn’t get rid of a cinnamon smell. As you went onward you saw what that smell was.

“Doughnuts!” You were almost salivating. Grabbing Lance’s hand you raced to the stand.

You and Lance shared a huge doughnut and Lance smudged some frosting onto your face. You tried pushing him away and all he did was tickle you. It was like a fight and as much of a flaco he was he still got a hold of you.

“I’m gonna get you Lance,” you gave a hearty laugh.

You climbed on Lance’s back and ordered him like a pony to go to the arcade. There were so many games there your eyes lit up with the bright neon lights and colors.

“I want to try this.” It was a game of getting a hammer and hitting mini Prince Lotor’s. You and Lance were up against each other and of course you won.

“You cheated,” Lance pointed an accusatory finger at you.

You stuck your tongue out, “you just suck.”

Lance rolled his eyes and walked away pretending he didn’t know you.

You guys hopped on a motorcycle game, Lance went first and you jumped in his lap and he taught you how to play.

Next, was the perfume store. You bathed Lance in cologne as he twirled around, and rubbed himself on you.

As you were walking onward you spotted a swim suit store. You were fighting with yourself if you should go or not because you were a bit shy around Lance but you decided to go because you would probably never come back again.

“Let’s go in this store please,” you asked shyly.

Lance didn’t want to show it too much but he was so excited to see how beautiful you would look in swim suits, especially bikinis. He saw how much you wanted to go in and he couldn’t and would never say no.

“Of course gorgeous,” he smirked and acted all charming.

“You sit here and wait,” you pushed him onto the couch in the waiting room and fled to each aisle, picking up the ones you wanted.

The store owner waved her tentacles around and glanced at Lance, “are you here for you?”

“It’s actually for my girlfriend.” He said proudly. “She’s special.”

“Alright Lance,” you sang as you brought them in the room and tried one on. “This one I call Florida weather.”

You jumped out and the one piece had oranges on it. You modeled and pretended to peel an orange and eat it.

Lance clapped and nodded his head, “that’s so cute!”

“Next!” You shimmied your way in the room again and put on a swimsuit that was adorned with a skirt and it was bedazzled. It looked so trashy and made for a grandma. It was the furthest thing away from sexy. You chuckled as you looked at your reflection. Lance was really going to love this. “What do you think about this one babe? I think this will be your favorite.”

“Let me see girl!” Lance bounced on the souls of his feet in anticipation.

“Tada!” You danced out, shaking your hips. “My name is abuelita.”

Lance was surprised to say the least but he clutched his stomach, bending over laughing. “Oh my God, you do!”

“Do you think this is flattering?” You strut your stuff and flung your leg out like a show girl.

“I still think you look great sweetheart.” Lance grabbed your hips and kissed your lips.

Lance was the perfect boyfriend to you. Even though you looked like an old lady from the 80s, Lance thought you still looked perfect and that made you have fireworks in your tummy. He always knew what to say. “Alright, but I got one more!” You ran back to your room and lifted up the dark blue bikini. Was your body perfect? No. Did you care? No. You thought you were beautiful in your size and no body was perfect. It was for you and Lance loved you no matter what. As you pulled the straps up, you checked yourself out in the mirror. “Perfect.”

“Are you done baby?”

“Yes, I think you’re going to really love this one.” The beating of your heart was rapid as you thought of his opinions. Would he like it? You tiptoed out of the room and rubbed your arm sheepishly. “Do you like it?”

Lance was flabbergasted. Not because he never thought you would look that way but because of how perfect and beautiful you were. He was star struck. His eyes widened and shined bright like jewels. His mouth was wide open. His heart grew more large for the love he felt for you. You were his baby!

“Well!” You crossed your arm, beginning to feel shy and bashful at his loss for words.

Lance covered his mouth, “And I have the audacity to live.”

You shook your head as you giggled like a girl with her crush. It was kind of true he was your crush but he was also your boyfriend so you scored. Lance was so extra!

“My baby is so sexy oh my God!” He shouted so loud- everyone in the store glanced over your guys way.

“So this one is a buy?”

“Heck ya! I’m buying this for you babe. You look so smokin in this like por tu madre, my girl gonna look good!”

As you both were walking out to go back to the ship. It was night time already and the sky was a dark purple. The stars looked like diamonds sprinkled on a painting. It made you have a warm feeling in your tummy to know that you were one of the many brave souls that traveled up there to save lives. The air was cool and the trees swayed in the wind.

Hand in hand with Lance, you walk on the cobblestone, trying to balance as you place one foot in front of the other. The wind that blows by makes you shake and shiver. Goosebumps rise on your skin and Lance takes notice.

“Baby, you’re cold?”

You didn’t want to seem weak so you shook your head. “No, I’m okay. Just the wind.”

Lance looked the other way, shy, as he stripped his jacket off and enveloped you in the warmth.

You loved cuddling with it, the soft inside fabric tickled your cheek, and it smelled of his perfect self. You tried to hug the jacket subtly without his detection but Lance saw and became a bashful mess. You bit the inside of your cheek, not looking into his eyes because of your embarrassment. “It’s so warm,” your lips turned into a small, satisfied smile.

“It looks amazing on you,” Lance said breathless.

“Oh wait!” You paused as you sprinted to an open field.

“What are you doing, Y/N?”

After a few minutes you ran back to Lance.

“What did you do?”

You brought out a daisy, kissed it, and gave it to Lance. “A present for you, my Lance.”

Lance couldn’t contain his love for you. He lifted you up and twirled you in his arms. “You are defiantly my girl.” He put you on his back as you both traveled back to the ship.

On his back, you hugged him tightly, nuzzling into his hair, kissing the back of his neck. “I love you.” You whispered your heart and soul into his ear.

“I love you princess.” Lance kissed your hands as you started drifting off to the rocking of his steps. His breathing a peaceful melody in your ear. You needed the day to get out and have fun and just be you with Lance. As the day was ending your smile became wide as you thought about how perfect this day was and it was with the most perfect boy.

An Invisible Ship in Plain Sight?

Something I found rather odd about “New Gods on the Block!” was that even though the characters from the A plot and the characters from the B plot eventually all wound up in the same place having the same adventure... they didn’t interact. Like, at all. Like each plot and group of characters were in their own little vacuum.

There were a couple instances where we know the characters from one storyline saw the characters from the other, and I’ll get to those in a sec, but for the most part, there was no interaction (other than Zeus manipulating Storkules).

First, let’s look at when Scrooge, Della, and the kids first run out of the mansion.

...Okay they had to have seen Donald getting snatched up, right? But they were all like, Ermergersh, there’s a titan, and not Ermergersh, a titan just snatched up Uncle Donald. I mean I know in this adventuring family bad stuff happens to Donald all the time, but it’s not like monsters regularly pluck him from the pool and this time it just happened to be a titan.

Then, there are two instances where the characters do acknowledge each other’s presence... silently.

Donald watches his sister try to free him and the others:

And Daisy turns around as sees the kids with god powers:

That’s literally all.

We hear Donald get barfed back up with everyone else, but we don’t see him.

I know it’s kinda hard to see in this gif but it’s just Scrooge, Della, and the deities (also, I’m surprised they got away with making the vomit so red here).

In this screenshot we see a closeup of everyone we just saw get barfed up, and again, even though we heard Donald, we don’t see him yet.

BECAUSE CUTENESS WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN AND IT NEEDED ITS OWN SPACE.

Okay but like even though Donald was kinda farther away from the others, he didn’t land that far.

The others were literally right there! Della would have seen that! The kids would have seen that! They were in such close proximity to Donald having his first kiss with Daisy (possibly his first kiss ever for all we know) but they were totally engrossed in their own plotline and didn’t even notice??? Um, WHAT???

And even by the end, the characters from the two plot lines didn’t really acknowledge each other’s presence.

Look at the direction each character turned, too. Scrooge is the only one who turned around toward Storkules, Donald, and Daisy, but his eyes were closed when he was facing them as he turned. It was like he, Della, and the kids were doing everything in their power to pretend they didn’t see the others or something. Donald didn’t acknowledge the kids. Della never asked him when they were in the titan’s stomach “Soooo how was your daaate?” I mean there was literally no real interaction between these two groups.

When someone asked Frank if or when Della will meet Daisy, he said, “Eventually.” Was this supposed to be it? Because when someone else asked him how many episodes Daisy would be in, he said “a couple.” She’s literally been in a couple episodes now. So is this all? I imagine “a couple” might not have been literal and Daisy might be in the finale because everyone’s always in the finale, so will they meet properly then? Will they pretend they’ve never actually seen each other before, or actually acknowledge this shared adventure?

OKAY LETS START THIS OFF WITH A BANG! This is the first Bucky CEO story I’ve ever read, and it was like an amazing Segway into this AU. So reader has a crush on her boss, he supposedly doesn’t like her back, so she joins a dating website where she meets this mysterious guy and falls in love. Crazy right? Even more so that it’s actually her boss?? This was a fantastic story filled with mutual pining, fluff, some perfectly timed angst, but most of all, some of the softest Bucky towards the end that I have ever been blessed to read. I want him to talk to me like that :( really loved this one!

All My Stars by @moonstruckbucky

Let’s go right into another amazing story. So this one is about Bucky boring FCC a new assistant, one who he basically falls in love with, and oh holy hell shes engaged. Let’s see how this turns out. So I will say it’s not finished yet, but I think what’s there is amazing enough to warrant a place on this list! Meg is a genius in how she writes the dynamic between characters. You feel for all of them no matter what, Bucky is detached and the reader is oblivious and you just want to shove them together like dolls and make them fall in love! It’s definitely a rollercoaster ride, and I’m excited to possibly see where it ends up :)

OH THIS ONE IS SO SWEET! Okay so this one is about the reader wanting to give her boss Bucky Barnes chocolate on Valentine’s Day, when she sees she got some flowers. So when I say sweet I mean tooth rotting fluff holy hell I loved it. They’re both the biggest shy dorks who obviously have feeling for them and it really made my heart swell to ungodly proportions it was not okay. Bucky is the sweetest most nervous boy, and the reader isn’t much better. In a matter of like 1k words I was already immersed and invested in this possible relationship it was crazy! Amazing

Pleasure and Business by @notimetoblog

OK wow, this one is just fantastic. So James and the reader are set to make a deal. So there’s something about this one that’s just really mysterious, like throughout the whole story you kind a know what’s going on but also you don’t, it’s a really good story and really unique when it comes to CEOs stories because the reader seems to hold the place of power as well, I also really really love the dynamic between the two characters because it’s really playful and loving and lighthearted even in this business setting, and I never really completely got what The business deal they were making was, but honestly it doesn’t even matter because the story was so good.

LOL, OK so this one. All I’ll say, is that the reader is Buckys good luck charm, and he needed it for a specific business call. This one was a trip. it was filthy, but written so well. And just the general storyline, while he’s on the phone made it exciting like not just because it was sexy but because it was just really like oh my God what’s going to happen is he going to get caught?! And man Bucky has a mouth on him, but I’m not gonna spoil it but let me just tell you, Suz has a way with endings. I genuinely didn’t expect it and That made it that much more awesome

The Man by @interestedbystanderwrites ***

Oof! This one! Now this one was amazing. So this one was about the raider going to her exes wedding, when she meets Bucky Barnes, who just so happens to own the hotel the wedding is held that. there are night leads to some down and dirty times, which is how all times like these should. This one was just really fun to read, because not only was it smut but it was also interwoven into a storyline, and at the end you’re really left wanting more. There’s a little hint of sugar daddy in there at the end, which makes it like even more interesting. Super good.

Late nights at the office by @after-avenging-hours ***

Oh I love this one! And I think I love it because it’s a really amazing mix of the storyline, and really well written smut. So this one is about Bucky being the readers boss, and there’s a deal coming up so he sends her a request to get something done by a day that causes miscommunication between them. So I really like this one because Bucky isn’t portrayed as like a jerk boss as he is and some other stories which is really refreshing, like he was genuinely sad that there was that miscommunication and she stayed after, and I think that made it all the more rewarding when they didn’t have sexy times because you actually really liked both characters. And it was well written, and you were left wanting to know what goes on with them in the future. Lovely.

okay so I really love this one. It’s super sweet, Bucky is a very busy CEO, and the reader is an extremely patient and understanding girlfriend. It was really cute, especially the end. I love stories like this where Bucky is genuinely a good guy who loves his girlfriend and understands that he’s not being the most available to her. I love seeing the moment he realized he needed to do something, and honestly just seeing healthy relationships in fics is so refreshing, and it was really well written.

Ohhhhh this one is like an OG favorite of mine. So this one is about suave cocky Bucky Barnes getting everything he wants in life, until you. The reader comes in and shakes his whole world and it’s the cutest. Seeing the tension they have throughout the story is exciting, but my absolute favorite part was the fact that throughout the story you can see his love her her change from lust to love, or at least that’s how I saw it. And like you also got to know him and understand him over time. It was a great read, unique story line, loved it!

Okay! So now we have a man awesome POC!reader story!! I love this one, I don’t know if I would qualify it as a series of oneshots but maybe that’s what it is, either way it’s great. So it’s a series of moments that showcase certain parts of the readers life and her relationship with Bucky. This is just a really sweet story, it really showcases the life of a POC In the discriminating world, especially when it comes to business, and it really opened my eyes to how I read these stories. Bucky is also super sweet, When he loves, he loves hard and with his whole self and you can really see it in this story. It’s beautiful.

Oh this one was spicy. So it’s about Bucky being really stressed and busy at work, and his wife coming up with a plan to help him relax. That plan is very sexual, and provides a wonderful story to read lol. But I also like the tender aspect of their relationship that you see in little snippets, you can tell they really care about each other over everything else. And I think that’s really important to see in these CEO stories because usually he’s a jerk.

So this is a story about Bucky being stressed at work, and you deciding to help him relax. Obviously that answer is sexual lol, the best way don’t we all know. This was very smutty, not much to it other than smut, but it was really well written and very entertaining haha. Also, loved the little snarky back and forth at the end, it was cute!

Ohhhhhhh buddy, now this is a killer one. So this one is about the reader goes out to celebrate a promotion, had a wonderful one night stand, and surprise? That guy was her boss. What could go wrong? This one was so awesome. Daisy is such a great writer, and this is a prime example. There were so many twists and turns and it was actually realistic you know? Like there wasn’t a perfect story, they messed up, he messed up, and it wasn’t all sunshine’s and rainbows. The reader stood up for herself and I really admire that!

The description is right! This is so damn fluffy I cant handle it! So it’s about the reader and Bucky spending quality time together after he’s been super busy at work. It’s so freaking cute, all of the flashbacks, the way you can see that they truly genuinely care about eachother. Like, it’s one of my favorite things to see a relationship consisting of two people who love eachother. Nothin Better than reading about love. And Bucky, god Bucky is the sweetest in this! And let me say, I will also love Bucky Barnes forever.

god i hate Angela. she’s fickle in relationships, insensitive, and keeps saying shes Brennans best friend but their relationship is less friendly than ‘best friend’

wtf is up with Agent Perotta? she sucks. she had the Squints tailed when Booth was kidnapped?? wtff

im so confused, why does Bones show up to crime scenes when she just tells everyone to pack it up and ship it back to the Jeffersonian???

tbh the lab is an ianppropriate workplace: Clark is right

i like how Sweets is more involved in the show, it shows that Brennan is more open to psychology

i liked the intern rotation thing. i like all the interns, but the old guy with multiple careers was great, nice and knowledgeable. none of them are as fitting as Zack tho :( good news: Zack shows up a couple of times! :)

and its funny that both Bones and Booth are insensitive about cultures and people after traveling the world, especially Bones, peep her social skills

Angela's husband shows up and eventually agrees to sign the divorce papers. why do we have two britain episodes? the first one wasn't even good lol . also Hodgins x Angela break up bc they don't trust each other. hmm definitely not bc Angela kissed her husband like a day before the divorce papers were signed and she was engaged to Hodgins still . wow Angela really does pull this sht and expect Hodgins to deal with it. also british lady cop tells Bones to get with Booth . jealously stuff in relationships

Hodgins putting money down and Booth picking it up was cute. omg they stole the deceased. i'm deceased ☠️☠️☠️. ngl i loved this episode. its probably my favorite episode to date. it's funny and quirky with everyone of the squints involved.

Brennan x Booth baby by artificial insemination?? this is soooo random and makes no sense in Brennan’s rational mindset. turns out the hallucinations are a result of a brain tumor. seen when Stewie from family guy makes a cameo!!! ahhh i love it. also his child and it's mother doesn't come to his surgery??? could've been a cliffhanger ending but again no...

04x26 The End in the Beginning

alternate universe episode . Booth x Brennan are married and owners of a bar (literally the lab) . Booth forgets Brennan after waking up from his coma/surgery??? wow the writers have no idea how to do cliffhangers

definitely hate bingewatching this show now. im trying to like it cause the premise is fun but omg the writing is terrible. theres so many inconsistencies and things that dont make sense. definitely not a bingeable show bc i feel like i wouldnt care about these things if i watched these episodes once a week.

Happy Birthday, stardating

December 27-a continuation of the ShieldShock fic that was written for mcgregorswench. Fluffy, cute, sweet, Tony laughing for five more minutes at Steve's expression when he finds out, Darcy groaning at how oblivious they were (and DARN YOU SHIELD PROTOCOLS), for @stardating

Holding hands, they continued through the park, unable to stop looking at each other and both grinning madly.

“I can’t believe this is happening at last,” said Steve.

“Me neither,” Darcy replied. “Tell me more about this fancy proposal you planned.”

“Oh, well, it’s nothing too fancy,” Steve said. “Um, I’ve ordered your favourite takeout and there’s cheesecake for dessert. One or two dozen bouquets of flowers to set the scene.”

Darcy drew away slightly and peered up at him with wide eyes and eyebrows halfway up her forehead. “That’s a lot of flowers, Steve.”

Steve shrugged sheepishly. “I couldn’t decide which ones I liked the most.”

Darcy snorted and tucked herself back into Steve’s side.

“I suppose you had a speech all planned out as well?”

“Oh, you’re still getting the speech,” Steve assured her. “It’s got some very important words in it.”

“I can’t wait.”

Reaching the edge of the park, they crossed the road. Two turns and three side streets later they were standing in front of their apartment door.

“Are you ready?” Steve asked, hand on the doorknob.

Darcy nodded and Steve opened the door.

Stepping into the living room, Darcy gasped. One or two dozen bouquets of flowers was an understatement. There were vases and arrangements on every available surface, in a rainbow of colours.

“Oh, Steve. They’re beautiful.” She moved further into the room, sniffing at random arrangements as she passed them. “Oh my god, and they smell!”

“I went to an independant florist and specifically asked for flowers with scent,” Steve said. “They won’t last as long but what’s the point of flowers if you can’t smell them, right?”

She turned to look at him, her whole face lit up with happiness. “They’re wonderful.”

“I’m glad you like them.” He followed her through the room, enjoying her delight in the flowers.

“I love them.”

She bent down to breathe in the scent of another bunch of flowers and even though she’d already asked him to marry her and they’d said yes to each other, a wave of nervous anticipation rolled over him. This could still go balls up.

There was a knock on the door.

“That’ll be our dinner,” Steve said, relieved at the interruption. He collected their order, taking it straight to the kitchen.

“We gonna eat first?” Darcy asked, following him. She’d tucked a daisy behind her ear and looked so happy his breath caught in his throat.

“Pizza is best eaten hot,” he replied, busying himself with arranging the pizza boxes on the kitchen counter and pulling out plates.

“It is,” agreed Darcy. “Feed me, Steve! Feed me.”

After they ate, Steve poured them a glass of wine each and they retreated to the couch.

“I guess we’ve gotten to the secrets part of the evening, huh?” Darcy asked. She set her glass on the coffee table and turned toward him, tucking her legs underneath her. “Who goes first?”

“I think I’d like to go first,” Steve replied.

“Hey, you don’t have to be nervous. I promise not to run away screaming… well, not immediately anyway.” She winked at him.

“So, you know how I work in international search and rescue?” he said, deciding to start with the easy bit… because telling your new fiance you actually work for a super secret spy agency was easier than telling her you were actually a 95 year old superhero, right?

“I am familiar with that fact, yes.”

“Well, it’s not so much search and rescue as it is intervention and enforcement,” he said, watching her face carefully. “The full name of the organisation I work for is Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.”

Darcy blinked. “You work for S.H.I.E.L.D.?”

Steve blinked too. “You know S.H.I.E.L.D.?”

“Um, yeah. I kind of work for them too.”

“What?” Steve wondered if this what flummoxed felt like.

“I work with Jane Foster,” Darcy said. “I was with her in New Mexico when Thor arrived.”

“You know Thor?” Yep. Flummoxed. “I thought you were just a fan.”

Darcy giggled. “I mean, yeah. I’m a huge fan but we’re also best buds. I can introduce you if you want.” She grinned, waggling her eyebrows as she did so.

A knot loosened in Steve’s chest. If she was already friends with Thor, then surely the revelation of his own true identify wouldn’t be a big deal- as big a deal.

“Actually, I already know him.”

“You do?” Darcy’s eyes widened in delight and her grin got wider.

Steve nodded and decided to just drop the bomb, as it were. “I’m the Steve Rogers,” he said. “I’m Captain America.”

Darcy’s mouth dropped open and her eyes almost popped out of her head.

“You’re kidding.”

Steve’s heart beat faster and he shook his head.

“Nope,” he replied, aiming for nonchalance by having a sip of his wine. His heart thudded in his chest.

Darcy continued to gape at him silently and then she stood up, the abruptness of her movement startling him.

“Is that- is that a problem? Darcy?”

She moved down the couch and took his face between her hands. “No problem at all,” she said, kissing him. “I love you, and you turning out to be Captain America doesn’t change anything. Now follow me because I need to show you something.”

She took his hand and led him over to their television. Turning it on, she selected the channel they used to video chat.

“I’ve been a little bit worried about telling you who my dad is,” she said, navigating through the contact list, “because he is an egocentric asshole. He’s been wanting to meet you for a while, and last time we discussed it, he said he wanted to be there when I told you who he is because he wants to see the look on your face,” she continued. “Now I thought it was just cos he likes being the centre of attention so I wasn’t going to bother but now I understand why-”

“Okay…”

She selected a number he’d never seen before, but before tapping the call button, she stopped and looked at him. “God, I can’t believe we could have been honest with each other this whole time. We’ve probably signed all the same NDA’s and everything!”

Steve smiled. “Huh. I hadn’t even realised that yet.”

“A lot of people have just landed on my shit list,” Darcy grumbled. “Okay, fair warning - there’s gonna be some yelling here, and you’re probably gonna be very confused, but here goes nothing.”

She tapped the button and they waited.

“You don’t wanna give me a clue?” Steve asked.

“Honestly, I think we all deserve this,” she replied.

Several seconds later Tony Stark appeared on the screen and before he could say more than “Hey-” Darcy launched into a miniature tirade.

“You asshole! You absolute sneaky, double dealing, cheating asshole! How long have you known?”

“What?” The look on Tony’s face was priceless. “Known what?”

Steve’s brain went into overdrive connecting the dots as soon as Tony appeared on the screen.

“Your father is Tony Stark?” His words were lost as Darcy continued.

“That my boyfriend is Captain America!” she almost yelled at the screen, flinging an arm behind her to point at Steve.

“Fiance,” Steve corrected, still reeling from the revelation.

“Oh, that.” A glimmer of guilt passed over Tony’s face but melted into a self satisfied grin. “Hey, Cap,” he said, “she finally said yes, huh?” before returning his attention to Darcy. “Since just after Christmas. And that is no way to talk to your father, young lady.”

“Like you don’t deserve it,” Darcy retorted.

“Tony Stark is your father,” Steve repeated, completely nonplussed. “I’m going to be Iron Man’s son in law.”

“Ahuh!” Tony crowed triumphantly. “That’s the face I wanted to see.”

“No!” Darcy snapped. “You are going to be Captain America’s father in law. There’s a difference!”

“Spoilsport,” Tony pouted.

“I don’t believe this,” Steve muttered before raising his voice. “You never mentioned you had a daughter, Tony.”

“No one knows I have a daughter, Steve. It’s a secret.”

“It’s a safety slash security slash privacy thing,” Darcy said. “Mom wanted me to have a normal upbringing and as I’ve grown older I’ve really come to appreciate that.”

“That’s fair,” Steve agreed.

“Anyway,” Darcy said, “I guess we don’t need any further introductions, seeing as you two know each other already. I’ll talk to you again soon, Dad. Say hi to Pepper for me.”

“Congratulations, sweetheart,” Tony said. “I’ll expect you here for a celebratory dinner soon.”

“Of course! Love you, bye.”

Darcy ended the call and turned to Steve. “Soooo… now we know each other's secrets.”

Steve nodded. “We do.”

“You’re Captain America.”

“And your father is Tony Stark.”

“You’re okay with it?” she asked, an uncertain lilt in her voice.

“Yeah. Yeah, I am. Are you?”

She nodded. “I’m not gonna change my mind, if that’s what you’re worried about.”

“Whatever secrets we have, we will deal with them - that’s what we said, right?”

Darcy nodded, and smiled at him.

“So… I believe you said something about cheesecake?”

Tony watched the screen go black and grinned. The grin grew into a chuckle and the chuckle turned into a laugh. The look on Steve’s face had been just as priceless as he could have hoped for. Wiping a tear from his eye he stood up and called through the open door to Pepper.

“Pepper! We’ve got a wedding to plan!”
