Genuine question to Mahiru fans
Would you be okay with a comic that explores Mahiru's UNREQUITED crush on Peko?
I have two comic ideas but I wonder if I should put them in the vault along with my Chihiro Pronoun comic. I feel like ppl are gonna either be mad or misinterpret it.
The two ideas under the read more if you want more context:
Mahiru tries to get Peko to smile. They go to all the cast members for advice but it's all futile. At the end of the day Mahiru is walking alone to her room. She didn't get Peko to smile but she's glad she spent the whole day with Peko. She stumbles on a secret meeting with Peko and Fuyuhiko. Peko has a soft smile (a smile that Peko herself doesn't realize she has) and Mahiru takes a picture. Mahiru looks at the picture in the camera; clearly mixed feelings.
This takes place after waking up from the NEO World Program. Peko and Nagito woke up after everyone else and is resting in the MedBay. Mahiru comes to visit. Peko tries to apologize but Mahiru stops her.
"It's not your fault. From what I heard, you didn't want to hurt me. You were just a victim brainwashed by the Kuzuryu clan. But it's going to be okay! I wanna help you distance yourself from that life and watch you grow as your own person".
Nagito butts in explaining that Mahiru is dehumanizing Peko by taking away her involvement in the decision.
"You weren't there at the end of the trial so it's not your fault but we all decided that Peko did that on her own accord outside the Kuzuryu's influence. I know you don't want to be mad at Peko but you can't just erase her decision like that. Don't you think it's cruel to perpetuate this notion that Peko can't do anything for herself?"
Mahiru grabs Nagito's shoulders and expresses anger that he'll never understand. Girls are just raised to take care of men. That standard is unfair but how are girls supposed to know that's unfair when society enforces it so much. It's not Peko's fault that she thinks this was okay! She doesn't know how else to live! Peko had only the illusion of choice but in reality there wasn't. But Mahiru can help her heal! They can have a normal peaceful life outside of violence!
Hajime comes at the end, scolding Mahiru she wasn't ready to see Peko yet. Mahiru leaves revealing Hiyoko was outside. Hajime asks Hiyoko why she didn't do her job of keeping Mahiru out. Hiyoko just shrugs, clearly dejected that the girl SHE likes is much more interested in her murderer than her best friend.

i'm such a big fan of laios using being well fed as proof that he's serious. like there's so many techbros & etc who will use not eating breakfast as proof that they're productive & just in general, the idea of being "too busy to eat" is getting more common (which is exactly what toshiro is doing here!) but laios is like. no. i'm so serious about this i'm thinking about what comes next. i'm so serious about this i'm making sure my body can do everything it can when i need it.
the fact that everyone in the party took care of themselves & carefully planned out their route & when they'd take breaks is what made them so successful. they always made sure to understand their limits

one of the reasons it's really hard for a lot of intersex people when intersex topics are on the news cycle is because the public's reaction reveals how little anyone knows or cares about intersex people, including people who call themselves our allies. almost every time intersex topics are trending, the discourse surrounding them is filled with misinformation. people who only learned today what the word intersex means jump into conversations and act like an authority. endosex/dyadic/perisex people get tripped up over things that are basically intersex 101, with tons of endosex people incorrectly arguing about the definition of intersex, who "counts," DSD terminology, and so much more. i've seen multiple endosex people say today that they've been "warning intersex people" and that we should have known that transphobia would catch up with us eventually, which is an absolutely absurd thing to say given the fact that consistently over the past ten years, it has often been intersex people sounding the alarm on sex-testing policies and also the fact that many, many intersex people are also trans, and already are facing the impacts of transphobia. there is an absolute failure from the general public to take intersex identity seriously; people seem not even able to fathom that intersex people have a community, history, and our own political resources. instead, endosex people somehow seem to think they're helping by bringing up half-remembered information from their high school biology class which usually isn't even relevant at all.
and this frustrates me so fucking much. not because i want to deny the impacts of transphobic oppression--i'm a trans intersex person, trust me when i say i am intimately aware of transphobia. this frustrates me because there is no way we can achieve collective liberation if our "allies" fail to even engage with basic intersex topics and are seemingly unaware of the many forms of intersex oppression that we are already facing every fucking day. if you are not aware of compulsory dyadism, if you are not aware of interphobia, if you are not aware of the many different ways that intersex people are directly and often violently targeted--how the fuck do you think we're going to dismantle all of these systems of oppression?
if you were truly an intersex ally, you would already KNOW that this is not new, and would not be surprised--interphobia in sports has been going on for decades. you would know that we do have a community, an identity, a history--you would have already read/listened/watched to intersex resources that give you the background information you need for allyship. you would know that although there is a really distinct lack of resources and political education, that intersex people ARE developing a political understanding of ourselves and our oppression--Cripping Intersex by Celeste Orr and their framework of compulsory dyadism is one example of how we're theorizing our oppression. It's absolutely fucking wild to me how few people I've seen actually use words like "interphobia" "intersexism" "compulsory dyadism" or "intersex oppression"--endosex people are seemingly incapable of recognizing that there is already an entrenched system of oppression towards intersex people that violently reshapes our bodies, restricts our autonomy, and attempts to eradicate intersex through a variety of medical and legal means.
you cannot treat intersex people like an afterthought. not just because we're meaningful parts of your community and deserving of solidarity, but also because intersex oppression impacts everyone!!! especially trans community--trans people will not be free until intersex people are free, so much of transphobia is shaped by compulsory dyadism, the mythical sex binary, all these ideas of enforced "biological sex" that are just as fake as the gender binary.
it makes me absolutely fucking livid every time this shit happens because it becomes so abundantly clear to me how little the average endosex person knows about intersex issues and also how little the average endosex person cares about changing that. i don't know what to say to get you to care, to get you to change that, but we fucking need it to happen and i, personally, am tired of constantly being grateful when i meet an endosex person who knows the bare minimum. i think we have a right to expect better and to demand that if you're going to call yourself our ally, you actually fucking listen to us when we tell you what that means.
okay for endosex people to reblog.

He's a used car salesman. He has a heart of gold. He can't parallel park. He has two gay witch italian dads. He chops the wood. He has a magical talking cat mom. He's an assassin. He isn't an assassin. He's actually the cat from earlier. He's trans (female cat to male human). He's been shot through the heart. He was in Dewar. He was not in the war. He was in Dewar. He's on his last of nine lives. He just had a marble shoved down his throat. He's even bisexual. I didn't say his name, but he popped into your head, didn't he?

some of my kin liken humans to beasts to illustrate their ruthless ambition.
i do not.
the wolf hungers, and hunts to sate that hunger.
the bear must rest, and hunts to sleep once winter comes.
the human does not merely 'hunt'.
they torch forests and poison rivers. they build giant constructions which spew gas as black as night into the very air we breathe. they hunt and hunt and hunt until nothing is left.
describing them as anything other than 'human', is to undersell the reality of their callous disregard for any semblence of mercy.

It irritates me alot when people say that making medic more compassionate is ''missing the point of his character'' when he is literally shown to be in the comics.... did you miss the part where he showed concern for both sniper and miss pauling's well being in comic 5 and 6.
His actions are a combination of genuine attachment + clinical interest and these things do not cancel out one another. He is always pushing boundaries and going against the grain and i think this is what led to him losing his license in the first place. He felt stifled by the rules imposed on him.
He is shown to be extremely passionate so it makes sense that he would use his endless fascination with medicine as a way to show his affection. He loves his friends so he will find a way to make them borderline indestructible. Malpractice is his love language.

I mean this gently but I have to say somethin' here-
I've been getting so much "make your skirts cheaper" "I love this but why are they soooo expensive" etc lately and like look, I know a lot of this is because times are hard.. (otherwise why would I be hearing this more & more this year when prices haven't changed compared to last year) but I just wanna say that one of the only ways I could lower prices (if I was ruthless and didn't care) would be to cut sizing options. Like idk how to word what I'm trying to say, but just know when you shout stuff like this at other brands & they decide they need to find a way to cut costs to lower prices, being size inclusive is gonna be one of the first things to go.
I have no plans to do this myself, but for example, a D Size Skater costs me almost twice as much (talking about only the direct from the manu cost, there are other factors too such as that they weigh more so that adds more shipping costs as well) as an A Size Skater. Say I cut D Size altogether.. and many companies would have by now while also not even lowering the price.. I could increase my profit margins significantly right away. Now lets say I cut both C and D and become a shop that only offers the standard range of SM-XL. Wow! Suddenly profits are up so much!! Or maybe going not full corporate greed, I could handle lowering skater prices by like $10 (random number not based on real math idk what things would actually work out to because I'm not gonna do it). But now no one over a size XL can order from me.
I fear none of what I'm trying to get across is getting across but I just mean to say, in order to offer what I offer, the prices need to be what they are. They aren't set arbitrarily high & lowering them would mean needing to make choices that I will not make (becoming less size inclusive or making my business unsustainable in the sense that it would not survive long).
