it got me back into one piece after years away, so: generally positive!

in my head (and maybe in tags somewhere) i've referred to it as a "speedrun" to express what i think of it as an adaptation—it's doing everything fast and has to skip some stuff to do it, but in broad strokes it is telling the same story. i think that was inevitable, when tackling in eight episodes an amount of story that took, what, fifty episodes in the anime? they simply could not do everything, but what they did do i enjoyed.

He remembers each time you get a bad end and sometimes says something different... >:3 There is also an in-universe reason as to why he has his abilities — I won't spoil anything, but his real name (along with River's and one other character) have a reeeeally big tell. But what this tell is is for me to know and you to find out >:3

I ended up talking WAY too long so I'm putting everything after the first one under the cut

all of us are dead- show about high schoolers as a zombie apocalypse starts. very funny and relatable, literally they call the police and are like 'have you seen train to busan?' bffrrn. has a lot of social commentary and there are references to the sinking of mc sewol (a cruise that sunk where the captain deserted it and left a large amount of high schoolers to drown). commentary about how adults save themselves first/leave youth to fend for themselves. one of my comfort shows and although they didn't intend for more seasons, it was received so well that they have been renewed! I am also an ot4 truther and sometimes talk about them on my international shows sideblog: @nam-on-jo

sweet home- (disclaimer: I am not caught up and have not yet seen s2 which came out a little while ago) honestly I have no idea how to explain this so I'm gonna copy-paste the blurb: as humans turn into savage monsters, one troubled teenager and his neighbours fight to survive and to hold onto their humanity. basically people turn into monsters for [redacted] reasons and everyone in his large apartment building is stuck inside trying to fend for their lives.

my name- I'm just going to paste the blurbs going forward because it's easier: Following her father's murder, a revenge-driven woman puts her trust in a powerful crime boss -- and enters the force under his direction. bro some of these twists I expected but others caught me off guard. I love the main character and am a little gay for her but I think that's valid because she's a bamf. there was a plot point at the end of the second to last episode that I really didn't like and made me very upset. narratively I get why they did it but it made me sad so I'm still pissy. might get around to writing a fix-it fic one day when motivation strikes because my girl deserves better things.

the guest- a detective, a catholic priest, and a psychic join forces to fight crime caused by supernatural forces. not to say they are my ot3 but they kinda are. (other ppl interpret it is a lesbian and her two bi/gay bffs which I also accept but. ot3 tho). LOVED every twist and turn and how the three of them go from not trusting one another to being family. genuinely one of my favorites from all the kdramas I've watched over the years and I want to rewatch it again soon

happiness (tvn)- The residents of a high-rise apartment fight for their lives against a deadly infectious disease while Sae-bom and Yi-hyun try to find the person because of whom the virus spread. bro I adored this. some characters annoyed me (which means they were written effectively) but it has so much. fake dating/marriage (they wanted a better apartment lmao). annoyances to lovers. mean/rude woman soft for sunshine man. what you will do for the people you love. morals and humanity during a catastrophy. *smacks show* you can fit so much into this. no but seriously, I thought this was a really interesting take on the zombie virus! so some of the time you come off completely asymptomatic and 'normal', so people can get away with acting normal and hiding the disease around other people, so the paranoia and mystery is REALLY amped up. had me guessing a LOT. sae-bom and yi-hyun are both cops/detectives and you find out really early (ep 1/2?) that sae-bom is immune which gives a really interesting dynamic that leaves her (to yi-hyun's exasperation and heightened blood pressure levels) to be kinda reckless in the pursuit of truth and salvation. I'm rambling now because this is making me watch to rewatch but yeah as a zombie/dystopia/apocalypse lover this was a good watch. it's more story-focused than violence-heavy which was a cool and refreshing twist

alice in borderland- okay y'all I am aware people had mixed feelings about s2 but overall I did enjoy the series. 'Obsessed gamer Arisu suddenly finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo in which he and his friends must compete in dangerous games in order to survive.' what can I say, I love a dystopian-esque setting.

the silent sea- imma be real, I only watched it for loml bae doona from sense8. 'During a perilous 24-hour mission on the moon, space explorers try to retrieve samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets.' basically earth is in severe crisis mode as they run out of water to drink. water has recently been found on the moon, and although there was a mysterious tragedy that happened previously to researchers looking for water in a base on the moon, they have reached a level of desperation where they have another mission to look for moon water. mystery, paranoia, a couple of good twists ensue. I thought it was pretty good even though I have some mixed feelings about the open ending.

semantic error- yes I am sliding a bl into this list. bitch you thought. of course my bl-loving self would mention this (I forgot about it until I looked up good kdramas to remind myself of stuff I have watched). 'A strict, rule-abiding computer science major must work together with an artist with a polar-opposite personality to his.' confident cool boy meets bitch boy. it's great.

and of course...

leverage con artists- I would be fired from running this blog if I didn't mention the beloved korean spinoff of leverage. 'The series follows the story of Lee Tae-joon, a former insurance investigator who forms a team of thieves and con artists to target the rich and wealthy. The team was also formed to avenge Tae-joon's son's death.' I've posted about it before so I won't go super into it but it's VERY camp, a good time, and the ot3 is alive and well. debatable more overt than their predecessor!

other mentionables:

I tried watching kingdom (again for bae doona) but couldn't really get into it. might try again later because it's critically acclaimed (I think) and has even gotten a spinoff series

my roommate really liked mr queen. I didn't really pay attention when we were in the same room and they were watching it but it's fruity

the island on amazon prime was good! interesting plot but not in my top 10 or anything. worth a watch if you're looking for a kdrama to watch in your spare time. features girlboss businesswoman being thrown into a world of the supernatural because [redacted]. supernatural black horse man keeps her safe while keeping a life-changing secret.

let's fight ghost was a thai show that I saw and loved that was adapted into a kdrama called bring it on ghost, but honestly I couldn't get through it because I liked the thai one better.

train to busan is technically a movie but it's iconic and well-known and I highly suggest watching it if you like zombie/apocalypse movies. disclaimer: kdramas do not have the slow 'walker' zombies. they are fucking fast and the stuff of my nightmares. would probably just jump off a bridge if this actually happened ngl

I did think that extraordinary attorney woo was cute. I never finished it and know that there are VERY valid criticisms about the perpetuation of media portraying people with autism in the stereotypical savant ways. however, I liked how the love interest accepted her for who she was, loved her because of who she was and made efforts to accommodate and learn how to comfort her in ways that would work for her

business proposal was pretty decent if you like lighthearted romance- I didn't finish it but would like to at some point

THAT WAS...WOW. i'm speechless. that was a whole rollercoaster and frankly??? i enjoyed every bit of it. truly that was amazing

i went from screaming about how fucked up [insert revelation] is to screaming about how sO VERY SWEET [insert moment] IS

that whole mess was REALLY SOMETHING. AND YET IT DIDN'T FEEL TOO OVER THE TOP. i really love how stuff from dgs1 tied in so well to the second game. i don't think anything felt out of place or forced at all (from what i remember at least). SO MUCH TENSION and it all made sense for the most part. super fucked up but i'm pretty happy with how it ended. (edit: ACTUALLY i think the ending was kinda lame but whatever i guess...justice was served.......i guess..............BUT I STILL LOVED THE GAME)

i must say...i still have some things i want some more closure on. [redacted]'S PROMISE FOR EXAMPLE. I WANTED TO SEE THAT MOMENT + A SPECIAL SPRITE. i was waiting for it but it never came SMH. and also the whole [insert reveal] thing... i would've loved to see some interactions with a certain two characters in regards to that.....i think it would have been a really heartwarming (OR SILLY...or bittersweet) scene.

the amount of love i have for these characters is overwhelming. my heart is so FULL IT'S SO SO SO FULL OF LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE. i will express my appreciation for a specific few:

barok van zieks. i think i do like you. i see into your heart and it beats warmly and i find that very comforting. i'm glad for your owning up to your mistakes and willingness to improve yourself + rid yourself of the intolerance you've held onto for so long. AND STRONGHART. HE LOOKS SO COOL AND HIS DESIGN IS VERY EFFECTIVE. drebber has also grown on me. i just think he looks so COOL NOW LOL. and the yuru-chara mascots are so cute...cries

final thoughts on dgs chronicles overall: AMAZING. FANTASTIC. DEFINITELY PLAYING AGAIN AS SOON AS I'M ABLE TO (especially cuz i want to get the accolades i've missed lmao). i still have the escapades to do i just remembered!!! so i'll prob get to them in the next week. but yeah that's all for now :D

Fumetsu no Anata E yes she makes an appearance again....again, I don't wanna say anything cuz I feel like you should go in without knowing anything. but it's really sad, the things that happen yk I really love this manga (it has an anime too!)

Gangsta. i love gangsta sm, YES a lot of repeat recommendations but gangsta is really good. a lot of the-- All of the characters have pretty sad backstories as is the one occurring but still fun to read (unless ur caught up then we're all just SAD😀) but yeah, great read. Also read slowly as the author is sick, so updates are rare.

The Kids Are Alright shit had me CRYINNN AT 4AM BROOO when it got to the end. Very heartwarming and heartbreaking like...idk. it follows a kid named dai through some days in his childhood.

Grave of the Fireflies Ghibli film. if you still haven't watched it, then.....lol...I watched this the first time by myself and was sobbing ALONEE at 3am it was terrible.

Clannad (and Clannad Afterstory) Of course...I have to mention the CLASSIC!!! Clannad. I watched this when I was like 10 and both made me cry so badly....esp afterstory I remember sobbing in my mf room at the redacted scene. A dumbass show that follows Tomoya through highschool and then in the second series, through adulthood 🗿

+ honorary mention: Fruits Baskets. But I'm not recommending VERY popular stuff anyways most of these are known but like still not of people have seen them. I think furuba is pretty well known so...ya. but real sad.

Code Geass a CLASSIC that is like extremely underrated in the community. Like many people have seen it but it doesn't have the legendary status it deserves (like it should be on Death Note level. THE PLOT TWIST???!?!!!) . not DEPRESSING really but the overall story is pretty devastating and the ending.....😀. yes some japanese imperialism but what can we expect. THREE EPISODE RULE! This is the only mecha I'd ever recommend.

Backstory: I talk about fandom stuff a lot with my mom (she’s one of the original Star Trek fangirls so she knows her fandom shit lmao) and recently I’ve been discussing Transformers with her. 

Me and my mom are very open with each other, and we have some interesting fandom conversations. 

Here are some lines from a recent call with her that I thought might be interesting, regarding Transformers stuff and especially some interesting elderly person perspective on Ratchet. There’s also some talk of the theology in Transformers lore, including Drift and Spectralism, and a bunch of other stuff too.

Me: Okay, there are a lot of younger fans for Transformers who might be interested in this kind of discussion, but I don’t see a lot of these conversations saved and shared anywhere, so if you don't mind I want to share some of your reactions to learning about Transformers stuff. 

M: That’s okay, very professional of you to ask! The internet is a job now, I guess. I’m being interviewed, fancy. 

On Ratchet’s Age/Health and older people in media:

Me: Ratchet’s the medic, he’s an old guy. Older than a lot of the other bots. In the comics (MTMTE/LL) he has a chronic illness and he eventually passes away from either that or complications related to it, although we don’t see it happen on the page. It made everyone sad; He’s a fan favourite. 

M: I know how that feels, getting old and dying! I had years of thyroid symptoms before they had to take it out, I had endometriosis and they told me I couldn't have you, it’s an unsure thing. Now I’ve had skin cancers removed, I have too much potassium in my blood, I have fibromyalgia. I never expected to live this long. 

Everyone is really just guessing at health stuff. It’s ironic that the doctor couldn’t diagnose himself, but I think he probably knew what was wrong and couldn't bring himself to accept it. Old people might accept that we can’t do some things any more but we tend to be depressed about it. Nobody really copes with it very well, you know X had a stroke and now she’s aphasic, can’t speak anymore, can’t read anymore, and she used to be a nurse. She’s older than I am, but it’s sad. She’s so smart and clever, and we’re just old. It’s what happens. 

I bet Ratchet was scared. As a doctor, he’d know what can happen when you get old and decrepit. I think he was in denial, a lot of old guys seem to be like that. 

Me: He was the medical lead on their ship, the Lost Light. I think you’re right and he wanted to be functional for as long as possible; He wants to be helpful and his job is his life. It would be hard for him; He struggles with retirement in the comics. 

M: Sounds about right. I’m old as hell and I still work! Although that’s mostly because we all need money to live, and not so much because anybody wants to have a job at this age, but still. If he liked his job, he wouldn’t want to be pushed out. I loved working at the park; When I had to quit, it was devastating, but I didn’t really have a choice. 

By the way, the audiobooks you sent me for X have really made her happy, she can read again, sort of! So thanks for that.

I think it’s interesting that his age is a part of his character in terms of personality and story arc; Do you enjoy seeing older characters in media that reflect the realities of age and being old, even when it’s difficult or possibly depressing? 

M: Yes! There aren’t a lot of old characters, and the ones that are out there are mostly just joke characters or you never see them too often. I think the creators must think that old people don’t watch TV or anything, but the reason we don’t tune in is because everything is all about young people, and that can be hard. Watching people run around when you can’t anymore can be painful for those of us who have lost that ability now that we’re elderly, or watching kid-focused stuff can make us miss our families. 

It would be nice to see old characters that are included and are competent. 

Me: Representation is important. 

M: Yes. 

On Religion in Transformers: 

Me: So, you work in a church. Just pointing it out so readers know where we’re coming from on this. 

M: Yep, Episcopalian on the beach here, a small church. Services are mostly online due to COVID so I’ve lost hours on Friday, unfortunately... But I’m not complaining. 

Me: And we both like the more spiritual lore type of content, it’s some good shit. 

M: Always love seeing ancient Gods in space! 

Me: So, there’s another old guy character, Alpha Trion, who’s a kind of sage-like mentor to Optimus Prime. 

M: Optimus! He’s the truck! Everyone knows him, he’s the main guy. 

Me: Yep! So Alpha Trion is an archivist, and when Optimus Prime was younger, depending on what version of the story we look at, he also used to be an archivist. 

M: Librarian truck! 

Me: Yes! 

M: I love it. You worked at a library for a little bit. 

Me: That work placement was the best, loved it. But Alpha Trion, depending on which version of the lore we look at, is hinted to be one of the formative deity-entities on their home planet, Cybertron. 

M: Cybertroooooon. Haha! Good robot planet name. I’m into this so far, very cool.

Me: It is! And Alpha Trion is sort of the living memory of the early days of their planet and civilisation, but nobody knows. Everyone just thinks he’s a kind of cryptic weird old guy. 

M: Relatable. I like this concept.

Me: It’s pretty good. So generally, things vary a lot from version to version of the story, but there are usually a handful of beings, early Transformers, who make up the character of their ancient lore. These are called the Primes, named after Primus, who pretty much always is depicted as their main God. Like Zeus, or Odin. 

M: Very cool. Optimus is a Prime! 

Me: Right! In a few versions of the story, he is the final Prime essentially reincarnated. The Thirteenth Prime. 

M: That’s very cool. 

Me: And in some other stories, Prime is mostly purely a title that has political connotations as well; It gets into a sort of weird Divine Right kind of area to help underscore some of the problems in their planetary political structure that led to the conflict that eventually became their civil war. 

M: That sucks, but unfortunately, also relatable. It’s very real world, especially right now. It’s interesting how Transformers is so incredibly in depth; I never would have guessed from the cartoon ads that were on TV when you were little. 

Me: Yeah, they seem to hide a lot of the lore, which is a shame. The comics are more adult than most of the TV shows, I think you’d like them. 

M: Sounds like it. I love the spiritual robot stuff. 

Me: In the comics, there is a religious practice called Spectralism that you might really like. They see auras by filtering different light wave bandwidths through their optics in order to detect mood, and all the colours have meanings assigned to them. They change their paint colours in accordance with those colour meanings as well, on some occasions. Meditation is part of the practice. One of the transformers, Drift, had at least one vision; It’s hinted there might be more to Spectralism, but we don’t see all that much of it in any further detail, unfortunately. They also believe in Primus as a deity. 

M: It’s a shame they don’t elaborate more on it. It sounds very cool, like the stuff we were doing in the sixties and seventies. I bet Drift has some black light posters in his room, we had tons of them. Loved the velvet ones. 

Me: He does have an altar, I think. Or a least a prayer area, it’s mentioned he meditates fairly frequently, from what I remember. 

M: (Starts singing Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple) That was the best, put some tunes on... Good driving music, too! 

On Femme Transformers and Sexism in Sci-Fi: 

Me: So there are some lady Transformers, too! 

M: Ooh! 

Me: There’s Arcee, who is the pink one you probably remember from the ads or the cartoons, and in the comics she’s officially transgender. 

M: Excellent! Trans-formers. Good. 

Me: Yes! And there’s not just her, there’s Nautica and Velocity in the comics as well, plus Elita-One... (I showed her pictures of each.) 

M: I like Velocity. I love the teal, the Thunderbird on the back is excellent. 

Me: I like Velocity, too. 

M: Elita has the head cones, not sure how I feel about that. She’s also pink, it’s hard to keep track of them all. I like Arcee, she has the Princess Leia hair helmet! 

Me: I figured you’d like that. It’s pretty good. 

M: I like Arcee and Velocity the best so far. 

Me: There’s quite a few female or femme transformers now. There didn't used to be, and there were some mistakes made here and there, but nowadays there’s a much wider cast. 

M: That’s good, I’m surprised, but in a good way. There were never women main characters in sci-fi stuff when I was a kid, it’s why Star Trek was such a big deal, and even then, it wasn’t all that great. There was Uhura, Nurse Chapel, but there were a lot of weird episodes...

Me: I love the Romulan Commander, though. 

M: She was the best! Wished we got to see her more. 

Me: Me too. But in Transformers, they’re doing a good job with the female coded characters, as least as far as I’ve seen.

M: That’s good to know. I’m glad that exists for girls who want to play Transformers, too. It always seemed like such a macho thing, the way they advertised it. 

Me: Yeah, that’s still a problem to some degree, but I remember it being way more aggressively worse in the 80s/90s. 

M: It was worse in the 50s when I was a kid! Cooking sets were the girl toy. They made Star Trek for boys, but when all the girls ended up being the main demographic that watched it, they cancelled it. It was Lucy from I Love Lucy who brought it back, I remember you told me that! 

Me: Yep!

M: I’m glad little girls have Arcee. And little boys. They’re robots, they don’t have gender!

I had been wondering about rita's episode, specifically what flaw of hers her episode would be addressing? Seeing as that seems to be the pattern here, with nureyev's self-isolation, jet's struggling with/repressing his past, and vespa's struggle to trust people/come to terms with her new way of life. So far it seems like the issue is that she's just straight up out of touch with the others and maybe a little selfish? She's more focused on how she thinks things should go than on what would be practical as evidenced with the robots in particular, idk maybe these eps rly are gonna be just pure comedy relief but I'm interested to see how that develops

Especially with her saying it's better to ask forgiveness than permission, idk I think maybe rita knows how smart she is perhaps a little too much? I love her but they've kind of gone in half-cocked here

Dante and Agnus’ Shakespeare bit is actually a pretty well known trope called Ham-to-Ham Combat. Dante and Agnus are both ridiculous Large Hams in DMC4, and when two Large Hams meet, in general, they are likely gonna try to ‘out-over dramatic’ each other. This can lead to a scene becoming either really funny or really corny (or both) really fast. If things go too far — and they do, in this case — the scene can become a Hormel Event Horizon.

Springfield is on the Springfield Plateau of the Ozarks region of SW Missouri. So they’re part of the Ozark Mountains.

Very, very IMPORTANT Edit:

It is fairly easy to tell, but EmpatheticDesign is the same person as GrandtheftAutoOnline, and uses the duo of accounts to block evade.

I was made aware by others spreading my journal that this person is known for this behavior, has harassed others in the past, and belittled victims of trauma, including rape victims. It's one thing to be a homophobic garbage pile, but to go out of your way to harm and belittle those who have suffered through serious trauma? So yeah, please let others be aware so they are not harassed as well.

Being gay myself, and having to deal with this on far too consistent of a basis, I thought I'd do my part to warn others so they can avoid some of this in their lives.

Apparently HaleyC7995 has done these things before, but I wanted to warn others who are Queer and may want to block people who go about spewing homophobic rhetoric.

I don't suggest going to her profile if you are sensitive to fat fetishizing, vore, and sexualization of a potential minor character (the character is in high school so there is a large possibility that they are a minor). Also racist depictions of characters.

People tried to explain why what they were saying wasn't okay, how it was homophobic, but she turned it around to blame the victims for her actions and other inappropriate behavior. She continued to say she was "misunderstood" about what she said, despite multiple times saying how being gay was "wrong" and overall seems quite content continue to say such things.

 It started by saying something unnecessarily homophobic on an art piece, then when the artist made a status saying how people needed to stop being homophobic at them, they posted this on that status:

Apologies to the artist who was subjected to this person. You aren't the first victim, and hopefully you will be one of the last. For those who aren't Queer and don't realize this yet...you can't "turn" gay. She for some reason acts as if it's a choice lmao. 

And well, many people reacted angrily, and she decided to "apologize" which wasn't an apology at all, but once again shifting blame and saying that it was just her "opinion." 

 For future records, hate speech isn't considered an opinion. It's hate speech and bigotry. An opinion is that I don't like raisins in my carrot cake because they make the cake texture gross. 

Credit to this person who tried very, very hard to explain why this wasn't okay. This had to be the most patient person trying to explain why homophobia isn't an opinion. 

 People continued to be mad, because well...the obvious lack of empathy, blaming others, and continuing to persist with the idea that being gay was wrong and a sin. 

Other people tried a well, especially those who have dealt with this person before she was banned on a previous account. She was ban evading for a while but it seems the accounts were unbanned now.

 She continues even with me to say she's "unaware" of what she's doing. It's obvious she's not, and at this point she gets very gaslighty and trying to flip it once again on everyone else. 

I was blocked after this so I couldn't respond, though as an angry gay person I had choice words. Unfortunately, due to how she's behaving, and how she has a history to blame everyone but herself for her own actions, I don't expect she'll be changing anytime soon. If you are Queer, have Queer friends, or just are very tired of blatant phobic behavior I'd just suggest blocking her. She's not willing to change or learn, but that doesn't mean we have to subject ourselves to hatred.  I am so sorry for those she's already caused harm to, for those who tried so hard and had to put up with this, and for those who have had to deal with her even before this incident.

scroll through social media at 1 am. find a meme that reminds me of a character. go “oh shit new WIP?” and open up google docs on my phone. start typing and try to get far enough that the basic idea comes across so I can remember it later. remember my actual WIPs. write a liiiiittle bit on them. promise that I’ll do more in the morning. reblog a WIP ask meme in the morning. get asks. remember my WIP. answer the asks first. FINALLY start writing on my WIP and get a decent amount done. get stuck on how I want a line to go/see a message notif and get distracted. rinse and repeat.

17: describe your favorite character in your WIP.

for Enslog’ph: [REDACTED] who from here on out will be known as Nuad if I didn’t already say this before (he’s Nuad. he’s cool. I love him) is my FAAAVORITE. okay he’s Noodle’s character but I have fanfiction needs and also fanfiction rights. Nuad’s a Muse of Void who’s taken an interest in the horrorterrors around his session. He’s a massive nerd with a flair for the dramatic. he’s also depressed as fuck but me too bud. I vibe. he’s. maybe a bit too understanding of Enslog’ph. but what do you expect from a Void player? he has a bunch of sea creature plushies, exactly one consort, and a shared land with his brother. I love him a lot. why he puts up with Enslog’ph I’ll never know but I respect him for it!

for West’s Godquest: technically Nuad’s mentioned in here too but not by name and he never gets to show up so. Fern’s technically in there but she doesn’t get a line because she’s freaking tf out? does that count? I’m gonna count her because otherwise it goes to West again and I’m not describing my main character smh >:P. Fern appears here to do nothing but be traumatized and peer pressure West, like everyone except Haze and West ngl, but that’s because West didn’t get to stick around. She’s a Seer of Doom and she makes a rough decision to avoid dooming the session in pressuring West to go into exile. she knows what’s going on but that trembling is not fake. she’s the most physically capable member of the team and she’s a really invested horse girl. horse demigirl? she’s honestly a sweetheart and balances a lot but sometimes she just wishes she could go feral. she also has undiagnosed anxiety. I love her a lot!!!

18: in 4 sentences or less, give us a plot summary of your WIP.

Enslog’ph: local horrorterror spends some time learning how to be a horrorterror, but the other horrorterrors suck ass and think a half-soul terror doesn’t belong. she spends a lot of time getting her mental state fucked up by her horrorterror peers and her human “peers”. she’s mistreated by the human half of her soul and realizes the horrorterror who split her soul is manipulating both halves of her, so she runs tf off. she meets a player who doesn’t immediately attack her and torments him for a little while, but he’s nice to her so she starts having a lot of mixed feelings and that’s a fun time for everyone.

GodqWest: West fucks up and gets exiled from their session, so they turn to internet forums for human interaction. they become a little obsessed with finding out everything there is to know about ultragods after their friends all get into the topic, and things are pretty alright until their forum pals start disappearing. they realize that the people disappearing off the forums are people who talked about the ultragods or went searching for them, and come to the conclusion that they’re probably definitely being murdered. since they are incapable of dealing with being alone, they decide searching for the ultragods to get some answers is a good idea because even though it seems a hell of a lot like a suicide mission.

19: who/what is the antagonist of your story? what motivates them?

Enslog’ph: Sarthraruus is the big one, though Aila plays a minor role, and so do Sarth’s horrorterror pals (and various players but that one’s downplayed). Sarthraruus is motivated almost entirely by a horrorterror hunger for power and his own greed, wanting control at the expense of everyone around him. he’s hungee. Aila’s motivated in GENERAL by a fear of failure, her actions in-fic motivated by pure reckless curiosity, and her attitude towards Enslog’ph is because of her own self-hatred and frustration that she isn’t getting anything out of the deal SHE made. Sarth’s horrorterror pals are all just doing their own thing but they’re little shits to Enslog’ph because she’s perceived as an extension of Sarth and anything that gives that asshole power is Bad. plus they’re like “oh I see y’all are just letting ANYONE in, huh?” the players being dicks is because they’re scared of Enslog’ph.

GodqWest: I mean, really, West causes all their own problems- no but Haze is at first and Haze is just terrified. fear and frustration at West drive Haze’s actions, as well as Haze’s want to be seen as someone who actually makes a difference. then the perceived antagonists are the ultragods but they are literally just vibing. Hill’s the only one doing anything and that’s just panic babey.

20: what are some tropes you’re using in your WIP?

for Enslog’ph, I use the typical “main character caught between two worlds” trope, and Aila and Enslog’ph can count as Opposite Twins. I swear there has to be a trope name for suspicious similarities with Nuad and Enslog’ph? edgy backstory counts.

for GodqWest, West’s assigned themself your typical suicide mission and there’s the “well, we’re gods, but there’s ULTRAgods” sort of deal. also edgy backstory. probably more.
