Rating the Akatsuki on how easily I can imagine them with a bowl cut.
Tobi -3/10: his spiky hair sticking up over his spiral mask makes him look like a hedgehog and helps sell the idiot chaotic gremlin persona. He just would not be the same with a bull cut and you wouldn't see it anyway since his mask has a huge strap that covers the lower parts of his hair.
Obito 10/10: Obito, on the other hand, I can very easily see with a bowl cut. I can easily picture him absolutely rocking a bowl cut while monologuing about how life is a lie.
Deidara 2/10: his hair has the right texture for it, but my mind keeps pasting on the bang and pony tail. It's very weird image and I can't consolidate with anything.
Sasori 9/10: He already has the shape and length, just comb it down a bit and ta-da.
Orochimaru 7/10: on the one hand Orochimaru's long luscious straight hair is a big part of his character design but on the other hand I can imagine Orochimaru doing literally anything because he is freaky enough to try it. Take that all you will.
Itachi 0/10: He has not the personality or the audacity for it. Every time I think about it his bangs appear out of nowhere. Not in my wildest dreams could I fuck with Itachi's hair.
Kisame 11/10: help I can picture it so clearly and it looks so wrong.
Kakuzu 8/10: I can actually picture it very easily but on in the gray color of his turban and not in his actual hair color.
Hidan -10/10: I refuse to get rid of Hidan's hair line. Let him slick it back like a 60s movie star.
Konan 100/10: very easy to see and WHY DOES IT LOOK SO GOOD
Pein -1/10: like with Tobi, the spiky hair complements his character design very well. I can imagine those punk piercings with a bowl cut. I'd score it a little higher if it was just Yahiko but pein with a bowl cut is painful
Nagato 100/10: YOU ON THE OTHER HAND COMPLETELY ROCK IT. OWN IT QUEEN WITH YOUR BLUE GIRLFRIEND.
Zetsu -100/10: ew no. Your hair is fake enough already. And quit paying for your mom's healthcare.

Thinking about Robin and Sunday's halos.
About how Robin's halo isn't a closed circle, but more like a branch forming a circular shape, where the start and stem don't touch. It's also uneven in shape and splits into three flowers, like it's allowed to grow freely, unobstructed. Something about Robin having left Penacony and having escaped the confines of her cage, being able to flourish. About her being able to let people in, and connect to them.
Meanwhile Sunday stayed behind to be the head of the Oak family and conform to the strict role that's expected of him, and his halo is a perfectly symmetrical shape that's practically fully closed off. It's sharp, almost more like a crown of thorns than a halo. And it almost doesn't have any openings to let anything, or anyone, in easily. It actively discourages getting close to it.
And then if you want to get sappy about, which I will - Sunday doesn't let anyone in, with that almost completely sealed, thorny halo of his... But there's an opening in Robin's halo, and so it can fit around Sunday's. Something about him always being able to find solace in her, because there's room for him in her (halo) heart always, by design.
Anyway I'm not normal about them.

one thing I particularly love about polyamory and how I engage with it is the ability to form romantic and platonic relationships that aren’t simple and definable as such. I love having friends that are more than friends but aren’t really romantic partners either. I love having people I would move mountains for even if we don’t think we’ll ever actually be together. I love sexually bonding with friends to a point where we interact like a couple, even if we consider ourselves single. I love taking care of someone like they’re the love of my life, even when we’ll never be in the same country. I love the idea of being a platonic rock in someone’s life, someone they come back to every time when their relationships don’t work out and they still need to feel cared for and loved by someone who isn’t going to hold them to the same standards a romantic partner will. I love telling my friends I love them. I love falling in love with my friends. I love loving and caring and fucking and falling and flirting and everything in between with all the people I care about most in the world, regardless of what everyone else tells us our actions mean.

So basically ATLA brain rot has hit me like a truck
#atla#avatar the last airbender#zuko#toph beifong#what happened was I was forced to watch the live action#which is actually pretty good if you get past the first few episodes#and if you don’t have someone in your ear telling you it’s awful the whole time#first episode is definitely the weakest and that’s 50% gran gran’s fault#aang and katara are also pretty flat but whatever#sokka’s good and zuko’s fantastic actually#they did goof on a few things but overall I think it’s a fun time#just don’t expect it to be as good as the cartoon and you’ll be okay#ANYWAY it got me missing toph#so i rewatched the blind bandit episode#and then wound up watching the entirety of books 2 & 3 in a few days#and now I’m brain rotted#which is especially weird considering when I first watched it I was like#yeah that was good! and then never thought about it again#i dunno what changed but i need help it’s taking over my life#wanted to draw Sokka too but he looks hard to draw#and i had enough trouble with these two#maybe someday#sorry for rambling in the tags goodbye
