This is why they should not have been part of the main interviews. The cast should have been there and been given their moment to shine, its an embarrassment, only made worse by the fact Dean fangirls are posing as “journalists”.

this isn't really about who the best writer is but rather whose version of Sam you like the best
also not including Edlund or Kripke for any of these because that's too easy sorry

If it's okay to ask: what are your thoughts on meg and sexual assault? I really dislike the way a lot of people on here talk about it (and meg, especially meg 2.0, in general) so I wanted to hear your view on it if you'd like to share!
not totally sure if you mean you’re bothered by how people discuss meg as a perpetrator or meg as a victim, because one could easily argue both. there are obvious allusions to rape re: meg possessing sam’s body in BUABS (just as every possession arc incorporates allusions to rape - most notably sam’s as he is at the heart of the majority of these arcs and also because well. The Roles.) and there are also of course the scenes where meg gets grabby with both sam and dean as a show of force.
I’m gonna assume however that you’re referring to people speaking about meg 2.0 in a demeaning manner and not recognizing the excessive misogynistic violence she is subjected to as a character, because come on. I know what this fandom is like. the two key episodes that come to mind for me are “caged heat” and “goodbye stranger.” gonna share some dialogue excerpts to get my point across, but you could even just count how many times dean refers to meg as a “bitch” in caged heat because it is frankly impressive that the writers (this one was tag-teamed by a duo and neither of them are familiar names) were so committed to it in just the one episode.
[caged heat]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
notes on the above excerpts:
as with all demons who inhabit female vessels meg’s sexuality is a main ingredient of her characterization as a villain. she speaks overwhelmingly in slimy innuendo and flirtatious-quips-as-insults, she forcefully kisses and touches sam and dean without their consent, she is frequently referred to as a “whore” accordingly. it’s worth noting however that although in this episode meg weaponizes her sexuality (as expected for every character like her) against samndean while she supposedly has them tied up at her mercy, it is soon revealed that meg cannot actually harm samndean and is on the run from crowley - the brothers have the upper hand and her threats are ultimately empty. meg’s power is taken from her at the very start of this episode.
compare meg being tortured by crowley’s henchman to crowley being tortured by meg moments later within the same episode. she is naked and strapped down, she is being assaulted with a knife. the dialogue smacks you over the head with implied rape, as if the scene wasn’t brutal enough on its own. what does crowley get in return from meg, when he greets her as “whore” immediately after this assault scene? he gets to writhe around a bit on the floor, fully-clothed of course. “the best torturers never get their hands dirty,” huh? convenient!
on top of all this we for some reason also needed cas testing out his Porn Tricks on meg - which, don’t get me wrong, I’ve always kind of had a weird soft spot for megstiel (gay edit), but you have to admit that the timing and the context rankles. recurring Woman Character who doesn’t serve as a love interest or sexual interest for one of the boys is very hard to come by around here.
[goodbye stranger]
Tumblr media
robbie thompson committed many sins with this (tbfh) godawful episode but what I want to point out here specifically is the continuation of meg being victimized by crowley. with bonus treat of sam being spoken to in the same sexually demeaning manner, as I suppose is only fair and right when both meg and sam were given the “wait outside while the men take care of business, frail maiden” treatment because thompson could not resist an opportunity to serve up dstiel bait that interfered with the structure and logic of the episode as well as with dean’s (and meg’s!) characterization.
TL;DR yeah uh the fans never talk about any of this because they’re too high on dstiel fumes to critique anything about the writing if they’re getting their tasty tasty little flavorless morsels from the like 3 guys on the writing team who were willing to feed them.
sorry for being mean but not really bc you guys are so annoying and dense about the already horrifically mistreated female characters on this show. wish I knew specifically what types of meg takes you don’t like anon so I could confirm whether they’re the ones that are a product of people despising female characters who “get in the way.”

A rant and theory
It’s really long, but I think I make some valid points.
Supernatural was on for 15 years. There have been interactions with the cast, some crew, some producers, directors, writers, etc. due to the ongoing conventions and the existence of social media. Writers will talk about changes to scripts, actors will talk about filming, directors will talk about why they chose a certain angle.
Given that most of the fans/stans do not personally know any of the people involved or personally know anything about the things that are/aren’t going on, it’s weird the way some fans/stans speak so confidently about what happened with SPN behind-the-scenes, production, writing, casting, you name it!
Especially when it comes to PrequelGate. People will state with their whole chest, that their version of events is absolutely correct. One J is an asshole, and one J is an innocent baby. Which J is which depends on who is talking. It can be either or both. The only thing that all fans who have theories have in common is that there is a definite good guy and a bad guy.
But the Js are still friends. They say they got over it and forgave. Since no one has given any details, I thought I’d join the bandwagon and come up with a theory of my own. One where there is no good guy/bad guy. So here goes.
I fully believe that the story of The Winchesters was not meant to be an AU. It was supposed to take place between 15.19 and 15.20, with Dean and Sam finding out about their parents.  They had to switch it to the AU version because of the leak, a new timetable, and the fact that Jared was no longer available. There is also a recent podcast (I don't have a link) where a writer from The Winchesters said that Robbie Thompson, the writer and show runner for The Winchesters, kind of knew that they were only going to get 1 season because of all the mergers/sales of the networks and studios.
Robbie Thompson said in an interview (https://tvline.com/news/the-winchesters-recap-season-1-finale-dean-heaven-multiverse-jensen-ackles-1234942742/)  “There was the spot that takes place in between Episodes 19 and 20, when what happens to Dean happens to Dean… So there was an opportunity to tell stories there, but that just didn’t work for me because we wouldn’t have access to Sam in that way, in a way that we could easily explain or at least emotionally explain, and that just didn’t feel like it was a story that certainly I wanted to tell and none of us did.” (Underlining mine) They wouldn’t have access to Sam because Jared could not be involved. Not because no one wanted him, but because he just couldn’t.
The reason I believe this is because of the following.
It starts with Virtual Con (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADYwrZ787a0) held in March 2021. In the video, the question about Chaos Machine projects starts at around 23 minutes. Watch Jared’s face throughout Jensen’s whole answer. He’s nodding along, looking at his screen, and not even showing the slightest surprise in what Jensen is saying. He doesn’t because he already knows. To me, that is the face of someone who already knows what the other person is talking about. Jared already knows which projects Jensen is working on. He knows which alum he is talking about. So he just sits there and lets Jensen answer.  His quip at the end that he will also be acting in it is just that, a quip for the fans.  Because (supposedly) he is bound by a 5-year contract to CBS. He can not legally get involved in Jensen’s project with WB. He can acknowledge that he knows about it, but he has to show that he is absolutely not involved.
Next is the announcement of The Winchesters in June 2021 by Deadline. There were tweets by Jared that said he was upset that he didn’t know about it and that he wasn’t involved. There was also a tweet directed at Robbie Thompson calling him a back stabber that was later deleted. And, silence from Jensen, because he was unable to come online and address anything because he was on set in Canada.
Things were set in motion that were not meant to be put in motion for a while. I don’t think Chaos Machine was ready to start casting/filming yet. I think Jensen and Jared were trying to make it work with CBS so that Jared could be involved in the prequel. But those talks weren’t finished, or possibly even started yet. But the leak by Deadline, the WB/Discovery merger, and Mark Pedowitz leaving, combined to put pressure to do the show sooner, while Pedowitz was still in charge. If they waited, then nothing might come of Chaos Machine’s deal with WB once the new owners came in. Maybe they were waiting for Jensen to finish shooting The Boys to get together and talk about all this, but they still hadn't.
And this is what Jared was upset about. He thought there was time before the show would start, so was surprised that it was announced without him knowing. It also explains why he thought Robbie Thompson back-stabbed him. Because he was going to be a part of this show, and now he couldn’t. He couldn’t even say he had been part of the development from the beginning because it would be against his contract with CBS. He can’t even say wants to be a part of it now, because again, it would be against his contract with CBS. He’s upset, because he hasn’t had any communication from Jensen about this going through, and Jensen was also unreachable. So he vented online a little.
Once this narrative that Jared was never involved, and would not appear in it, spread, all of them had to run with it. Jensen apologized for not telling Jared. He said he was superstitious. He wanted to tell Jared, but he didn’t have his phone. That he was on set. That Jared couldn’t participate because he was busy. Etc. etc.
But, when Jared spoke with Jensen, and was (possibly) made aware that the news came out because it was leaked, and that they didn’t have time to clue Jared in, and (possibly) they were thinking of doing the show sooner because of WB, Pedowitz, Zaslav, etc., and that they were still in a holding phase, Jared forgave Jensen.
All of the above explains the inconsistencies and “lies” and “tantrums” and finally the forgiveness, and moving on.
I choose to believe that neither Jared nor Jensen are entitled assholes. They do not owe the fans any BTS details.
I’m sure people can tear this apart, but their theories don’t hold up either.

Dude, My Babysitter Is A Ghost AU
AKA the Gravity Falls Danny Phantom crossover, and why it should have more content because IMAGINE the HIJINKS:
First, the sheer fucking Horror of Vlad and Gideon meeting, can you EVEN imagine?!?
But then also imagine the stupidest triangle in the world with; Stan trying to scam Vlad out of his money, Vlad trying to scam Ford out of his ideas, and Ford helping Mable matchmake his brother the con with the other scammer.
Why? well - "They'll kill each other or they'll kiss, maybe both." "Sounds romantic!" "Sounds disgusting, actually. But at least they'll leave me alone so, let's do it." "That's the spirit, sorta! Great to have you on board Grunkle Ford!"
Then you have Sam interacting with the teen squad and she fucking hates Robbie for being such a poser and a jerk, she barely gets along with any of them tbh except obviously Wendy and, perhaps less obviously, Thompson.
It's nor like Danny and Tucker don't hang out with the teen squad, but they've got their own things going on.
Danny has his hands full with the twins and their friends, not to mention the mystery shack as a whole.
Tucker took an apprenticeship with McGucket and now they are so ahead of the curve it's wild.
Jazz bonds with Wendy over being older sisters and with Dipper and Ford over science, but real goal is to help the town.
After the "never mind all that" act was repelled, people have been able to talk about their weirdmageddon experiences.
However, talking about it brought back unpleasant memories, and with the blind eye society gone those memories were there to stay.
That meant having to deal with supernatural trauma, for the first time in the case of many people in gravity falls, and luckily as a resident of Amity Park and a student of psychology, she wants to offer her support in any way she can.
Her help is not professional but it's very useful and she's about the only expert on the subject, able to help both the human townies who have dealt with the supernatural, and the supernatural residents witn their own complex issues.
Pacifica takes ass kicking lessons from Valerie and learns how to go from rich bitch who bosses people around to do her dirty work for her, to bad bitch who takes charge of her own life, can handle situations and gets 👏🏻 shit 👏🏻 done👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
She also recognizes Sam as Fellow old money with mommy and daddy issues and a crush on a nerdy loser dork who's too cute and smart and sassy for their soft hearts, despite their rough exterior, so they have an ✨️understanding✨️
There's so much more I can say, but I'll leave it here for now.

Robbie Thompson tried to put an OOC I love you in Dean's mouth in Goodbye Stranger, but Jensen shut it down because it wasn't appropriate to the character. Nobody would know that, except Misha told the hellers to wind them up - conveniently leaving out that the replacement line of being family was the same intended sentiment as the original according to Thompson himself.
The set design in Stairway to Heaven for Castiel's fake heaven was going to be full of pictures of Dean in a mocking jab by Metatron, but when Jared pointed out that fans would take it as a serious hint at the ship being a thing, it was promptly taken out. Nobody would know, except Misha told the hellers to wind them up - conveniently leaving out that it was removed for being a potentially misleading joke in bad taste.
So yeah, nobody could make Jensen do the confession scene even when Misha and Bobo the Assclown conspired behind his back to cook up what looks to me like SPN's only legit queerbait and present it to him as a done deal. But when the speech itself was that pointedly ambiguous as to type of love? When it didn't involve Dean as other than a baffled spectator who explicitly couldn't reciprocate whatever feelings according to their own shitty script? When it had no impact whatsoever on Dean's own story - past, present, or future? When J2 had already been talking about having more creative control when they did a revival down the road? Would it really have been a notably better choice for Jensen to refuse to do the scene ... and wait for Misha to inevitably wind up the crazies with suggestively misleading hints of what might have been? He'd have basically been fighting against Misha ruining only his own character, when the little weasel would almost certainly turn around and sic the lunatic fringe on him specifically for saying no. Again.
I mean, I do think it was a terrible idea to throw the shippers any kind of a bone both in principle and in a practical sense, but really? We all know they were not going to be happy with anything other than the show ending in a completely OOC schmoopy fanfic-esque glurgefest D/C HEA with Sam conveniently somewhere ... else. Tantrums were inevitable. Hell, SherIock ended with the two shipped characters raising a baby together with the mother conveniently dead - the starting premise of a million shipfics. Yet shippers on the same level of batshit and refusal to accept being told no repeatedly as hellers? Rioted because it wasn't the Mostest Important-est Gay Representation EVAR they'd been promising themselves TPTB were really writing (in secret for reasons, naturally).
The goodbye scene didn't cause the still-ongoing meltdown, nor were the particulars of the finale what was really behind it - it was the decade plus of built up entitlement and delusions which not only caused it, but made it inevitable.

Jared said at two cons that Castiel would be part of it, in how he was thinking of things. Of course, who knows what Jensen might want to do. (I'm actually ok if they work together again if J2 have input equally, but hope Robbie Thompson gets the boot. That prequel was not well done even with the $$ re-drafts, and the set was unsafe besides.)
Yep, Jared's the only one who's said he would include Cas. All I've ever heard from Jensen is a focus on Sam and Dean.

The Schrödinger's SPN Revival
So, recently there’s been a lot of talk on here and twitter because a couple articles have been published citing Jared and Jensen (or just Jensen in one POS article) mentioning discussing possibilities for a revival. Does this make it any more likely to happen or closer to being realized? I don’t know, but the guys have been mentioning it off and on for years already, so I’m not sure it’s any more likely now than it ever was. Also, with networks and the whole industry in seeming disarray, even if J2 want to get a revival going, I’m not sure it will happen.
But, let’s speculate anyway. Shall we?
Tumblr media
(I CANOT get the link to work for some reason!!)
My thoughts on this, under the cut.
I’m no authority on anything in the TV industry, but I have watched our little show a lot, so I have thoughts. Let’s take look at each person on this poll.
Kripke - Obviously, he understands Sam and Dean. He created them after all. But, would I trust him with the revival? Well, judging by The Boys, he seems more focused on shock value than tight storytelling these days, so I’m not sure I would want to see an SPN on a streamer that he ran. It might become a case of all fireworks and little to no heart. Also, if he had ended the series in Season 5, both Sam and Dean would have been trapped in the cage forever. Not exactly a happy ending. Still, is he capable of manning a revival snd doing a decent job? Yes. Would I totally trust him with it? Maybe. Maybe not. Do I think he even has time to do it? Not really.
Jensen - Come on, people! If you want him to reprise his role as Dean, then he isn’t going to be the showrunner. Also, he’s an actor, not a writer, so it’s not even in his wheelhouse. So, no. This wouldn’t be a good idea. And after The Winchesters, I think it’s extremely unlikely that he’d be put at the helm in this way. The only upside to Jensen being a show runner? We know damn well Destiel would be ignored as vigorously as it deserves.
Robbie Thompson - Exhibit One: The Winchesters. So, no. Also, while he has written some episodes that I like of SPN, he was always trying to make the show something it wasn’t, whether it was Fairytale time with Charlie or trying to shoehorn romance into a platonic brother love story, he’s shown that he shouldn’t be trusted with the OG show in a position of power.
Sera Gamble - Season 6 while having some absolute bangers, was also a bit of a mess in some ways. And Season 7 was more so. How much of this was due to Gamble hersel and how much was due to Singer tugging at the reins, I don’t know. She is a proven showrunner, so I believe she could do it. She actually understands and enjoys Sam, so that would be a huge relief for those of us who actually care about Sam and want to see him get his due on screen. Also, she has never written Dean badly from my observations, despite certain past claims by “some people” on women not writing male dialogue well. In a lot of ways, I think she could be a good choice. But, would she be interested even? I have no clue.
Andrew Dabb - NEXT!!
Jeremy Carver - For reasons relating to Season 11, I would like to see him helm a revival. He can clearly follow through with a connected and coherent arc. However, for reasons relating to Season 8, where he had characters do a few hugely out of character things for the story’s sake? No. For Season 10 snd the bore thst it was for me personally (though that potentially had something to do with pressure that came from Singer)? No. All in all. I think he’d be capable of ruining a revival, but something tells me he isn’t particularly interested and they guys may not be that ready to chose him, either (purely just my gut).
Robert Singer - No. I believe he interfered with Gamble and Carver’s plans; I just don’t know to what extent. And worst of all, he did nothing to help steer Dabb away from the mess that was much of Seasons 12 to 15. Also, he’d probably bring Buck-Lemming with him. And can I just say a big, “Fuck no,” to that.
Again, all of this is just me rambling. I have no real idea how likely any of them would be to come back for a revival. And I also don’t know how much J2 would want any of them to run a revival, or whether they’d want to just get someone new who might be more likely to listen to their ideas. I don’t even know if J2 would have an easy time agreeing on who would make a good show runner from that list because I think they might not even agree on who they considered to be better writers, or be better candidates to showrunner. For example, I think Jared might be more enthusiastic about Gamble than Jensen would. And Jensen would probably welcome Singer more than Jared would. Again, I don’t know any of this for certain, but it just my impression based off of things they’ve said over the years.
If a revival happens what do I want?
First, it sounds to me like if there is one, J2 want to be a big part of it with Sam and Dean as central focus. This is what I would want. I watched the show for them. I stuck it out through the rough seasons for them. The only way I would watch a revival was if it heavily featured both Sam and Dean. Second, I think I would enjoy if they did a revival during the years (according to J2) between Episodes 19 snd 20. I would like this because it would make the likelihood of angel or demon interference minimal. And this would be the more likely scenario for us to get a more old-school creature hunting revival. We could still see Jody and co for those who care about that. There would be no need for Cas or Jack to show up, which I would prefer. Yet, it would be easy enough for them to make a brief appearance if J2 wanted to pander in that way. Also, I’m so very sick of Angel BS, and this seems like the best way to avoid it. Third, I could be interested in a bit of a prequel with John and the boys, if they could find a way to include J2 without making it convoluted and pointless. Finally, if they come back from heaven for some reason, I think it would be hard for the revival to have much in the way of stakes. And I really wouldn’t want a huge dose of Cas, which we’d potentially have in that case.
Anyway, here are my thoughts on the potential revival, thoughts thst no one asked for admittedly. Lol.
If anyone read this far, what are your thoughts on a revival. If it happens, who should run it and what would you want to see happen?

“What’s it like, settling down with a hunter?” is such a good line, I love it!
As a standalone line is just hilarious because, while Dean and the verb “to settle down” have a very complicated relationship, he for sure knows “what’s like” living with a hunter, he’s been living with one for the vast majority of his life and he’s been nesting (not the same as settling down but I think Dean knows how to take a win when he gets one) in that damn bunker with his brother for how long? 4-5 years give or take? So yeah, Dean is quite adorbs when he says that.
As a central line to the whole scene is very straightforward because Dean has explicitly compared  Caesar and Jesse to him and Sam saying that the first fight just like brothers, almost as bad as the second. Caesar corrects him though, and tells him that actually it’s more like old married couple. Therefore, the “settling down with a hunter” unequivocally refers to “being married/in a committed romantic relationship” with another hunter.
As a key line connecting this episode to the season’s overall theme of pining&longing is incredibly telltale. Dean is curious, interested even. Marrying another hunter is not something far-fetched, Sam and Dean have met some married hunters in the past so that’s not news to him. He wants to know “what’s like” because he’s given that a thought. So far in the season Dean has come to the realization that there’s something missing in his life, a blank space, a void inside himself.
This episode starts with Dean deep in research-mode on one of the bunker’s desks and Sam instantly knows he’s worried about Cas. They’ve been like this for a whole week, trying to find a way to “bring the idiot back home”. Sam thinks it’s time they got out and hit the road for a case. Therefore, the reason why the brothers are in Gunnison, Colorado is because Sam thinks Dean needs to get out of the bunker and stop obsessing over Cas. From the plot pov, Cas’ absence is the trigger event of the episode. This is confirmed later on when Dean tells Sam that maybe Caesar and Jesse can “give them a hand with Amara, you know, with Cas”. This, per se, doesn’t necessarily mean that Cas is that something or rather someone who can fill in the empty space Dean has inside himself. But it implies that Dean feels that the “something” that’s missing is very strongly connected to Cas and Cas’ presence in his life.
Finally, “What’s it like, settling down with a hunter?” is a great line because it flips over a key scene in “Baby” by Robbie Thompson. I love when writers so explicitly communicate with their colleagues in their work! I mean, this is basically an indirect quote. Love it, love it, love it!
In “Baby” there’s this beautiful dialogue between Sam and Dean:
Dean: Piper? That's awesome. Heather. One-night wonders, man. Shoot, we're lucky we still get that at all.
Sam: Really? You don't . . . Ever want something more?
Dean: I'm sorry, have you met us? We're batting a whopping zero in domestic life, man. Goose eggs.
Sam: You don't ever think about something? Not marriage or whatever. But . . . Something? You know, with a hunter? Somebody who understands the life?
Dean: Have you not heard a single word Bob's been singing about? You're tired. I can tell. You're exhausted. Well, I'm still wired, so I'm gonna pull over, get some gas. You hop in the back, get some Z's 'cause, buddy, you earned 'em. Proud of ya! Piper. Mmm. Man, she smelled good, too.
At the beginning of the season Dean seems to be quite certain that there's no chance for them to have a “domestic life”. Sam doesn’t disagree but he highlights Dean’s limited perspective on the matter. Not marriage but… something more. Specifically, something more with a hunter or with somebody who understands the life. Dean replies too dismissively to his question, so I think he's actually thought about that but either he didn’t like the end result of that particular train of thought or he didn’t want to talk about it.
However, by the time Dean meets Caesar and Jesse something has clearly changed. If in "Baby" Dean goes from 0 to 100 (from "one-night wonders" to "domestic life", geez, Dean calm down man lol) and he's quite "touchy-touchy" about the subject, in "The Chitters" not only does he seem more open to the topic, but he even freely and voluntarily brings it up with a couple of people he’s basically just met. And yes, the big thing that has happened to him in between these episodes is not Amara. It’s Cas’ absence. So it’s safe to say that the show is implying in no uncertain terms that Cas’ absence and Dean’s sudden interest in “settling down with somebody who understand the life” are connected. Do with that what you will.
Nancy Won managed to intertwine scene, episode and season in one single line. I must admit it’s quite brilliant.
Anyway, “The Chitters” is such a packed episode, Nancy Won really tried her best to weave a compelling MOTW (the Bisaan is hands down one of the most horrifying monsters in all of SPN), the season’s main themes and some good ol’ subtext. She also wrote “Thin Lizzie” and I remember that I liked it a lot, too bad she didn’t stick around in the writers room for later seasons.

it's so funny. like it NEVER stops being funny to me. that someone in that writers room was like. hey! you know what idea we could introduce into the show? cain and abel! and everyone was like wow what a great idea, that works so well! it'll be like a tragic cursed brothers thing, right? and we can have a flashback to cain killing abel and parallel it to sam and dean! and then someone - we'll never know who, but someone (probably robbie thompson) - said. actually. hear me out.

Episode 138 - 7.12 Time After Time
Time travel, and Dean gets to meet a personal hero in the flesh, while Sam and Jody have to save his ass from 1944. I love watching them all work at the same problem from opposite directions, and are able to make everything come together in the end. Plus who can resist Dean in that suit? Or resist just how much Dean loves that suit? Plus he's absolutely brilliant throughout this one (thank you Robbie Thompson, yet again!), and brilliantly queercoded. I could talk about this one for ages, but I already did...
Fine, just enjoy this one. I know we all will.

New followers of your blog! Love your posts and deep answers. SupNat was part of my younger years when it was aired originally. I stopped watching after the 5th season and I will never rewatch past that but I am here for the tee. Especially about the personal connections because I love to try to understand human emotions and the reasons behind their actions. What do you think about the fact that Jensen went behind Jared’s back with The Winchesters? (a show shouldn’t be exist at the first place)
Hello there!
First off, love the username! Big fan of Practical Magic myself.
And thank you so much for appreciating my posts!
Can I just say though? You're missing some gems in season 6 and beyond of Supernatural. (One favorite? The French Mistake. I still can't stop cackling over that one. Sam and Dean find themselves in an alternative universe as actors, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.)
As for the tea, well... it's largely centric on Danneel, but you will find some things about Jensen and perhaps others. I hope you, uh, well I can't say "enjoy" regarding emotional abuse, etc, but um, perhaps glean some understanding? There we go.
And woof. You came with a loaded question.
So... initially, I'll be honest. I believed Jensen's side of things. But as I delved deeper into it, seeing deleted tweets and screenshots and the timing of it all...
I was disappointed. Vastly. Jensen essentially betrayed Jared. He knew Jared was working on Walker, was told of the whole process if I'm not mistaken and yet he couldn't tell Jared that he was thinking of a prequel? That he approached Robbie Thompson about it? Not one word?
No, I don't buy his excuse of being superstitious. He still could've spoken and confided into his longtime friend, his fellow co-star, the person he said was a brother to him? Because even if it "failed", at least he would've had Jared there for support.
Plus, the leak (and there's a popular theory that it was Danneel who prematurely leaked it, but nothing is confirmed) came... and Jensen lied about not having phones while on set of The Boys.
Plus, after all of it... Jensen never formally apologized. He didn't humble himself. Jared sucked it up and took the dive... because he was, sadly, the better man.
I get it. Jensen couldn't let go of Dean. Believe me, I really get it. But there were so many ways he could've done this.
I'm disappointed in him. I feel the fame of his time on Supernatural, the cult following, as it were, got to his head. Jensen started to get too big for his britches. Whether that's Danneel's influence, the c-lister fame, his fan following, or a combination, it got to him.
So yeah. Disappointed. I hope he looks back and humbles himself.

Winchesters 1x1 Bullet Point Rambles
Poofs back into the real world again - WE'RE BACK! Hi ya'll!
I LOVE seeing all the Robbie Thompson credits in the beginning! Just gonna cry in your faces. I'm so happy for him.
And DEAN!!! We thought we were ready, but we were not.
Excellent Indiana Jones scene at the start
Loving the John and Mary dynamic. Also now I want candy.
John’s mom is a stone cold hottie, you guys
“Library? What are we doing here?” SO HAPPY TO HAVE LIBRARIES BACK
John’s having some hard core PTSD visions. He thinks he’s haunted (weeping)
“So, is breaking and entering a big part of hunting?” “Who’s breaking?” LOL
You can’t kill demons - Boris: just wait. Your second son will figure it out
Oh hey I’m adoring Carlos! AH-doring. What a great entrance!
Boris: He comes in like a hurricane
“There are no secrets in the Campbell family 😬
Carlos and Lata are super cute
"Paranormal freemasons." Love it. Highly accurate
“She’s really a lot meaner when you get to know her.” #goals
Mary’s just trying to shove everyone back outta hunting! Worth a try, Mary
The only thing worse than the beginning of a hunter is how they end. We KNOW TOO MUCH
Bonding in a cemetery. Who HASN'T done this?
Mary intends to leave hunting behind once she finds her dad. She just wants to live her life! (ouch)
Side note: Remember when it took sam and dean like 16 episodes to find their dad?
I love the creepy underground cemetery complex. Is it a minotaur??? (It’s a loup-garou and it means business.)
DAMN John just pulled out his friend's silver necklace from his arm. Reckless and over the top from day one
Mary emerging from that tunnel thing = truth coming out of her well dot gif
Ooo I like the magic monster catching box. Very ghostbusters.
John and his mom have a reckoning. “You’re mad at me? I’m the one who stayed.”
Oh hey! It’s Henry Winchester’s ACTUAL VOICE! omg nice casting
“Saving people, hunting things - I was born to do this” - STAHP (don’t stop)
We wonder if John’s mom was still alive when John died, since he wasn’t that old.
Ada fills John in on what she knows about his dad...but all the Men of Letters she knew disappeared 15 years ago. PHEW I love that we get to play with this lore, and that it wasn't that long ago.
Akrida is an invading creature from another dimension? (Dean voice) Are there tentacles?
Oh it’s Mary Winchester’s merry band! Love the tune playing this episode out.
LOOK AT DEAN! He’ll keep picking the music. The samulet’s hanging from the rearview… Green cooler in the back. Yes, all my stuff is back in its proper place.
We're on board :)

The Winchesters has more story to tell, and they're ready to fight for it
On Oct. 11, 2022, The Winchesters premiered, offering fans a welcome return to the Supernatural world. With Dean narrating, the series introduced a young John (Drake Rodger), home from Vietnam, as he met Mary (Meg Donnelly) and discovered the truth that would come to define their lives together: Monsters exist.
For 13 episodes, fans were back in the world they loved — this time around, though, things were a little different. As any good prequel does, The Winchesters expanded on the world and the lore of the flagship series, striking that crucial balance between the new and familiar. They'd cracked the code on how to keep this story alive without Sam and Dean, by shifting the focus from brothers to friends and, for the first time, telling a central Supernatural love story.
In its final episode, The Winchesters opened up the world by revealing that we weren't watching Sam and Dean's John and Mary, but rather the John and Mary of another universe. In other words, the multiverse is the limit when it comes to future stories. "I feel like episode 13 was us literally dropping the engine block in and being like, 'Okay fire it up,'" Ackles tells EW. "We blew the proverbial doors off. I think the potential is massive."
Yes, the potential is massive, even after the show's cancellation by The CW, because he and the cast have already launched a #SaveTheWinchesters campaign to find the story a new home. "There's a lot of story to tell here and there's a huge fan base that is very actively engaged and willing to support it," he says.
The power of the SPN Family has been documented many times (and cannot fully be explained). It's how the show landed its first EW cover back in 2016 — because the fans voted for it. It's a passion that Ackles saw the instant he tweeted out the news that the show had been canceled. "They are fired up," he says of the fans. "I love that about this fandom. I love that they are so passionate about this world and this universe and these characters that they are willing to go to the mat for a show like this. I think that speaks volumes, especially to those who are willing to listen and have the power to do something about it."
As for Ackles, he's feeling optimistic about a future for the show. After all, Dean Winchester's been knocked down more than a few times, and that's never stopped him from getting back up.
"I do feel hopeful and I don't know whether that's just the optimistic side of me, which I didn't know existed in this capacity," he says with a laugh. "I've been moving more toward a curmudgeon, more toward what we all thought Dean Winchester would dive into when he got older. That's just the Dean in me. But I do have this crazy optimism for this show and I think it largely resides in the energy that we found on set with this cast and this crew. That crazy optimism is one of the reasons why this show made it on air in the first place, and I think it's one of the several reasons why the show should continue somewhere."
For those wondering, Ackles says they've already started discussing ideas for what a new season could hold. "We were talking not only about story and where we wanted to take our cast, we were talking about who we were going to bring back from the mothership," he says, adding that he received text messages from a few Supernatural alums who were bummed they didn't make it on season 1. "We were putting together a lot of tricks to keep up our sleeve and keep it exciting, not just for the new fans but for the returning fans as well."
Much like creator Eric Kripke had at the start of Supernatural, Winchesters showrunner Robbie Thompson has a five-season plan for the story. "Hopefully we get to execute that," Ackles says. "I just think that there's a way to keep this alive and it would be a shame to let that go."
Looking even further into the future, Ackles adds, "And then we don't know what it would look like beyond that but there was certainly a way of tying this into like a possible return of Supernatural down the line, which Robbie and I had talked about. It's something that Jared and I have talked about, what that might look like."
For now, it looks like hope. And the cast has a lot of that. See the cast share their thoughts below:
Drake Rodgers
"Working on The Winchesters for the past year has been such an incredible honor. The fandom is so immense and passionate for this universe. They've been so accepting and supportive toward the show, it's made the entire process a dream. It would be a shame not to continue exploring the vast world we've built and grown to love so much. There's so much opportunity for new storylines and perspectives on the Supernatural universe."
Meg Donnelly
"I've learned so much about myself working on this show. The Winchesters is a beautiful story of stopping at nothing to help the people you love. There is so much more of this story that needs to be told and it would be honor to keep playing such an iconic character like Mary Campbell."
JoJo Fleites
"This story is worth fighting for because everyone can relate to these characters in some way, shape, or form. They are universal and timeless and they speak to so many people. I love that people see themselves in Mary, John, Carlos, Lata, Millie, Ada and all of these other characters. We want to keep telling the story and I specifically want to keep inspiring those that may not feel represented, such as people of color, the outcasts, the LGBTQIA+ community, and so on. It means a lot."
Nida Khurshid
"Continuing the legacy of the hugely successful show, Supernatural, has not only been humbling and thrilling but also a way for me to represent my heritage proudly through the character I get to play. Fighting for what you believe in whether it be saving the world from monsters or standing up for your friends, I believe our show can inspire that sense of courage and direction to fight for what's right in a world that needs it."
Demetria McKinney
"This show has been such an incredible bridge, not only in connecting the Supernatural origin dots, but bridging the gap between day-to-day and fantasy. Stepping away from life for a moment to recharge is something I don't take for granted. The added bonus of doing that in a space that is familiar (in its Supernatural nature) and mysterious (in its own right) isn't something you get to do often. The array of characters made everyone feel they had a place in this space. And I loved living out these stories with this cast and crew! Thanks for all the support you all gave us! We hope we get to play again one day."
Bianca Kajlich
"The Winchesters has been one of those 'lightning in a bottle' experiences. From the cast's very first dinner all the way through to the final few scenes of our season, we bonded over our shared desire to tell this story in our own way. We became a family within a family within a family! And from our family to yours, we believe in this story, this universe, and all the fans that light the way for us."
The series might have a fight ahead, but thankfully, if anyone knows how to put up a fight, it's a Winchester.

DEMIAN You're wrong you know.
DEAN (Turning back) Sorry?
DEMIAN About Supernatural. No offense but I'm not sure you get what the stories about.
DEAN (Smirking) Is that so.
DEMIAN All right. In real life, he sells stereo equipment. I fix copiers. Our lives suck. But to be Sam and Dean, to wake up every morning and save the world. To have a brother who would die for you. Well who wouldn't want that?
DEAN Maybe you got a point. You know, you two don't make a bad team yourselves. How do you know each other anyway?
BARNES Oh. Well, we met online. Supernatural chat room.
DEAN Oh. Well it must be nice to get out of your parent's basement. Make some friends.
DEMIAN We're more than friends.
He takes BARNES hand, they twine their fingers together.
DEMIAN We're partners.
BARNES drops his head onto DEMIAN's shoulder and they both grin at DEAN.
DEAN Oh. Wow. Ahem. Howdy partners.
BARNES Howdy.

10x05 “FanFiction” Written by: Robbie Thompson
DEAN : Why are they standing so close together ?
MARIE : Hum... Reasons.
DEAN : You know they're brothers, right ?
MARIE : Well, duh ! But... Subtext.
DEAN : Why don't you take some substeps back there, ladies ?
(Siobhan and Maggie look at Marie, confused, and awkwardly put some distance between them.)
(...)
DEAN : Alright, listen up, girls. Now, you're all here, because you love Supernatural.
ACTRESS!MARY : Actually, I was hoping we'd do Wicked.
DEAN : Yeah, that'd have been easier. I know I have expressed some differences of opinion, regarding this particular version of Supernatural. But tonight, it is all about Marie's vision. This is Marie's Supernatural. So, I want you to get out there, and I want you to stand as close as she wants you to,

Dean: and I want you to put as much sub and add text, as you possibly can. There is no other road. No other way. No day, but today.
