When we left our red- and blue-coded boys, they were exchanging their colors and emotions like it was easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Well...until they realized they caught feelings and questioned their entire lives, so now they are seeking comfort in their own colors trying to sort out those pesky emotions.
And they are struggling! After a night together where Team asked Win for exclusivity yet refused to commit to a defined relationship, both boys are lost (at sea, but trying to be an anchor for each other).
Team is devoid of color much like he was at the beginning of episode two after speaking to his mother, and Win is losing his color as well, which is difficult to do when his closet only features blue.
And the little blue Win does have left, he gives to Team before they leave the safe space.
*Win fixes the tie symbolizing order and submission while Team looks fully in the mirror representing his awareness of what Win is doing to him, yet Win does not look in the mirror until the end because he hasn't faced the truth of how much he truly cares for Team, which we heard in the preview for next week
Win's brother, Wan, is also struggling with the absence of color, but luckily he has Tul unknowingly providing him some blue (and support).
Team is also showing up in small ways to support Win that Win seems unaware of.
*the label on the tie and the bottom of Win's shoes are red
They won't see each other throughout the day (no practice) or that night (Win is going home, and Team is staying with Pharm), so neither can find their way back to their natural element.
*You might be thinking "they are just sitting in a different class" and "Win is outside, so trees are green," but this is the same classroom as the day before when they decided to sit in the red chairs (Manow talking in the red chairs while the green ones are in the background), and Team sits in the green when he is conflicted (the day he skipped classes).
*And Win sits in the blue unless he, too, is conflicted
Dean comes for Pharm, which leaves Team on his own. He is still reeling from the conversation he had with his mother and with Win the night before yet won't see Win at all, so he goes where he can find blue.
But his anxiety grows the longer he stays. He can't concentrate because everywhere he looks, he is reminded of all the things he wants to forget - Win's absence and Ton's incident.
Then we see the transition from Team's red into the blue through the pool rope as his anxiety and stress overwhelms him and he experiences a cramp
*Some of the ropes are colored this way while others are red and yellow. The colors serve a purpose. The red indicates that the wall is within a certain length, and most likely will be the shallow part of the pool, while the blue denotes the deeper portion of the pool. We haven't seen this transition from the red into the blue until Team becomes increasingly distraught because he is entering a deeper state of emotions
Which causes him to sink to the bottom.
Team is drowning in the deepest part of the pool
Everything Team has been trying to avoid is now dragging him down into this deep dark blue (depression). Win will save him from the pool, but Win can't save Team from the issues he keeps bottled up, and Win himself, through the previews, seems likely to become one of those issues.
I mean this with my whole being in the gentlest way possible, Team.
(Because i dont see enough of these two together. Also, this is another prompt i found in my fic files that i never did anything with.)
While Danny is in Amity Park protecting the ghost portal, Dani explores the world. Danny might be powerful enough to put down any threat, even Ancients, but she isn't as lucky. Her best defense against Vlad or the GIW is to never be in the same place two days in a row. Not to say she isn't powerful in her own right - she's yet to meet a ghost in her travels that she couldn't utterly crush, and even if she had, she's got the most loyal dog in both this world and the next to have her six.
Dani has discovered a great deal of beauty throughout the world in her few short years of life, but also unfathomable evil and undescribable corruption. She does what she can in every place she passes through, her ghost powers the ultimate cheat code for investigation and subterfuge, bringing to light the things that once hid in the dark.
But while scoping out yet another child trafficking ring, she crosses paths with a spirit of vengeance. At least, that's the only explanation she can come up with for how he's able to turn his shock and horror into pure rage at the flip of a dime.
Until she realizes that he's a baby halfa. If he doesn't learn how to mediate his emotions, he's going to burn out one of his halves.
Maybe she can help him stabilize into a proper spirit of justice and keep him from following the path that Vlad went down - oh shit, he doesn't even know that he's undead. Well, this is going to be a project and a half. But Dani is nothing if not resourceful - she's more than willing to put in the work if it means making an ally of the fourth known halfa.
Featuring:
Dani and jason are about the same age (16-17ish)
They run into each other during jason's LoA-sponsored world tour, investigating the same trafficking ring
Cujo is there too
Dani totally helps with the crime lord grand plan, but also wrestles jason down from the more messed up family drama stuff he did, like attacking tim, and knocks some sense into him and finds a better solution for dealing with the joker
Pokemon crossover? Indeed. Because there’s so many ghost pokemon, and many that are specifically stated to be dead children that I bet? They would absolutely adore the Dannies. In fact? They adore the entire Team Phantom.
Who are in fact on vacation, taking a summer to not have to deal with ghosts. Do they know what Fright Knight is doing back home? No, but they’re on vacation and don’t care. Look at these lil guys! Tucker, don’t steal the rotom- oh they’ve adopted you? Okay. Fair enough.
Now their world? Pokemon doesn’t exist. And by that I mean not even as a game or series or anything. So it is new and fun and like exploring the zone all over again!
They’re having fun, making friends with people and pokemon alike. Danny has discovered that pokepuffs don’t become violent if revived and many of his new friends love having snacks they can chase after. Dan absolutely delights in taking care of more than a couple of the evil organizations- and there might have been a cult form, no one asked.
They had to drag Tucker away from several bits of technology, quite literally drag him. And they had to carefully drag several pokemon away from Valerie because they adore her and her suit. Sam- erm, where did Sam and Ellie- oh there they are. Oh Ellie found a clone friend and Sam. Sam that’s a legendary.
…
That’s so cool! But like, they do have to go back home- oh, oh they’re coming with. That’s a lot of pokemon. Oh well, it’s fine. They brought souvenirs for their friends and family and plenty of plants- like Sam would let them not do so.
So now they’re home and with… okay that’s way more friends than they thought, but it’s fine! Let’s go see- oh hey Frighty, erm, what do you mean heroes arrived?? We don’t have much of an issue anymore???
Fright, teacher of theirs, where are the heroes, did you toss them out- FRIGHT-
welcome to i get to talk about baseball and hockey together this time apparently everyone has fucking grown up with matthew how do people still keep coming out of the woodwork feat my cringefail baseball team the fish (said with love and disdain)
theres a lot of parallels of man gets drafted to a franchise that is the equivalent of a burning dumpster fire, finds haven in south florida once traded, helps leads them to a playoff appearance first year there and becomes a fan favourite.
what kills me the most is that the first thing jakey did after being traded at the '23 deadline from the soxs and finally landing in miami for his first presser is go hi matthew! (x)
and then because it was the hockey offseason we got our beatwriters to go oh my god they knew each other? and we get this fucking article (x)
I mean, I used to play baseball but I have no First Pitch or pitching background at all. I was never the guy that—I don't think—was good enough to pitch. I was more on the hitting side. I'm sure if we were doing batting practise, I'll be better than this pitch. (x)
I knew he [Matthew Tkachuk] played [baseball] growing up, we played against each other when we were little but you know, I think he ultimately chose the right direction. (x)
i just greatly enjoy hockey man talk about baseball and i also terribly enjoy jakey corroborating matthews "bad at pitching very good at hitting" (x) stance considering his first pitch endeavour in 22 wasnt even anywhere near the plate he went "oh boy!" (x)
"his childhood friend is such a good athelete he would have been a star in any sport" on another episode of matthew touches every mans heart that he meets...
"How old were you when you started playing [hockey] with him [Matthew Tkachuk]?"
I would say probably around, like, 8 or 9 years old. You know, the community in St. Louis—hockey there is so big. You start running into guys. A lot of the '97s would kinda play with us ['96s] I mean, Luke Kunin, who plays for San Jose, lived five houses away from me growing up. Anytime the '97s and '96s wanted to get out on the pond, it was always a fun time.
And finally the most important thing of all
"What position did you play?"
guess whos the winger and whos the 3rd baseman
the narrative is compelling and the parallels are paralleling thank you for coming to my powerpoint presentation
i know travis guiding them was 100% travis and not in character as chet bc he didn’t even have the voice going, but i also would like to imagine that chet did exactly that.
i like it generally bc he has moments like that where he drops the chaos when things get serious (i’ll never forget watching him and orym talk about will and realizing that oh god, under all those layers of whatever the fuck is going on with him, he cares so much).
but i really like it in this specific situation too bc i’m pretty sure imogen was the one to step up after his confession and immediately say they weren’t going to leave him, and i can totally see him avoiding the conversation in the moment but then stepping up to guide her and taking it really seriously out of appreciation.
Replaying DAI is a bit like… No, no, it's ok. It's fine. "My name is Solas, if there are to be introductions." Sure, sure.
Over at Patreon and society6 we smile and nod when we meet people pretending to be someone they're not. There's too many of them to bother calling them out over it anyway.
You know what I think could be a really interesting premise?
Liminal-as-fuck Batfamily (and maybe all of Gotham itself) who aren't part of the Justice League.
Like I am saying full on cryptid batfam who terrorize the criminals of Gotham and aren't well known outside of the city besides rumours.
And now throw in the Phantom team, either via Sam or Ellie or otherwise bringing the anti-ecto acts to their attention. I'm saying feral ghostly children barely being held back by Alfred from destroying the GIW buildings with their bare hands.
Yes, that includes Bruce and Kate.
