For Fake Peppino, have you heard about Fake Peppina? She made her first appearance in Recd's Lap 3 Cover, and entered the mod called "Peppina Ramen over Peppino." She is only seen in the opening before your boss fight. And in the version 3.8 update, Fake Peppina was now a boss while you're in the background of her boss battle, The Crumbling Tower of Pizza, and the ending of the mod.

('Fake Peppina' does not exist in this AU, and certainly not in the way described - bc that 1. Assumes I (Bean the mod/artist) has seen or was even aware of these (I didn't know about them until this ask), 2. Assumes that the cover and mod are canon here, and their story events played out - which is not the case bc, again I was not aware of them, and I don't take ideas from fan creations such as mods (at least not intentionally fsdklsdf), and 3. Implies that the characters are aware they are in a game and are aware of mods/other fan creations - they're not jlkgsfd

Even regardless of that specific mod, there still is no 'Fake Peppina' or a 'real Peppina' or any genderswapped variation of the characters - I am not a huge fan of genderswapping and that is not the story I want to do

Gege's writing of Gojo Satoru is lazy and bad

Here, I said it.

And I'm of the opinion that "lazy" is an ableist and classicist term thrown around to shame people of their situation, so if I'm using it, I mean it and I'm pissed.

I have been angry since chapter 236 and I fell on an Instagram post, by a fan page, full of the normies fan (aka allocishet boys/men) earlier, which just made me lose it. So, I'm finally going full rant.

I'm using they/them pronouns for Gege, as they use non-gendered pronouns in Japanese. They didn't want their gender to influence the publication (which is a huge problem in the art world, in manga but also in comics and bd (the French-Belgium comics), and I can salute that.

"The Strongest" is not a bad character trait

It is totally possible to tell an interesting story with a character describes as "the strongest in the world", and the idea that Gojo is immediately boring and needed to die for the story to progress is wrong. Superman is an example of this "strongest in the world" character, and he has been thriving for decades. And in manga/anime, we have the great One, who has given us One Punch Man and Mob Psycho. In those two, TWO, stories, One tell us the tale of "the strongest in the world", and One is known to be far from the best artist. So, to sell and have people publish (One Punch Man was originally a webcomic, and the manga isn't drawn by One, but still) and read those manga, it means that One's writing is fucking good. If you have never seen/read Mob Psycho, go do it immediately, it's, imo, the best anime ever. I am still certain that if Reigen was in the jjk's world, everything would be fine, and yes, he still would be a con. One was able to write not one, but two stories about a strongest where you are still sitting at the hedge of your seat during the fights and are so invested, where the other characters still shine and develop their capacities. How? Well, one might be the strongest in a fight, but what about mentally? Emotionally? One explores his characters' flaws and feelings. And the thing is, Gojo has a LOT of flaws that could be exploited to make the story more thrilling. How about how careless he is when fighting, which lead him to be super destructive or letting someone WAY weaker than him get away (Gojo never won a fight perfectly if you look at it)? How he barely shows emotions to others or let himself affected? How he is lonely because of the pedestal the jujutsu society has put him on, and if he got off of it and opened up, he would be way less? A lot of flaws, of "weaknesses", that could be exploited to work on Gojo. That's literally what they did when Gojo got pokeballed, exploited how Gojo does not know how to deal with his emotions because of his upbringing and status, and so, is so deeply affected by the ghost of his one best friend. But it was only to get rid of Gojo, instead of dissecting him. Because, no, we can have that, because it would make him interesting, and Gege hates Gojo.

Hating your characters is an issue

Gege hating on Gojo is funny, until it impacts the writing. And it does, A LOT. Just like loving your character too much can lead you to fail to see the issue in your writings (Catra in She-Ra), hating a character as the same effect. Gege's hate for Gojo led them to be unable to develop him, and to contradict their own writing. For example: Gojo is said to not care about anyone multiple times, Gege even mentioned, outside the manga, that he didn't care about Yuuta or Yuji's lives, he just saw the potential. However, they also wrote Gojo being annoyed at the fact that a teenager was on the death row in jjk 0, Gojo mad that they killed Yuji, Gojo getting angry that civilians are getting killed, Gojo being shaken STILL 10 YEARS LATER by his best friend's betrayal (He cares sooooo much about a man that betrayed him 10 years ago, it's borderline impossible. Like, it's been 10 years, time to stop being soft about this genocidal man, dude. I'm pretty certain that people, after 10 years, either don't care anymore or are pissed at their traitor ex-friend). There's a part of Gege, who is writing an interesting story, that started to develop Gojo, and then, there's the part of Gege that hates Gojo and need to go against this development. When Gojo dies, his dead classmates affirmed he never really cared and was only doing all of this for fun, and it's the final nail in the coffin for me. Gege has a constant need to diminish Gojo's character, that was the issue with Gojo's writing. Gojo couldn't become an interesting "strongest in the world" character because Gege couldn't let him shine. Gege sees Gojo has this uncaring asshole that people only like for his looks (they said that Gojo won the popularity vote only because female readers voted for him, which is so sexist, like women and girls only like a character's looks and cannot appreciate a character's personality and values, but also really diminishing toward his own character, as it would imply nobody could see something interesting in Gojo apart from his looks, but boy, if your character is that popular, it's not just for his looks.) but they could have made it different, a part of them clearly wanted it to be different and knew it was the way to do it. But no! Gege always comes back to hating Gojo and must make him emotionless suddenly. He is never shown to care about the two children HE RAISED for more than 10 years, while still being attached to the man that was is bestie for 3 years more than 10 years ago. That doesn't make sense at all. And he lost the two children he raised while he was pokeballed, after he got distracted. Being distrated by his ex bestie ghost cost him his surrogate family, and we are supposed to believe he is heartless enough to not care??? Gege hates Gojo, and so they keep taking away anything that could make him more interesting. Damn, Gojo wanted to make his students as strong as himself and to change the jujutsu society for the better, and he FAILED. His students are dead (Megumi was at least gone when he was alive) and he never build the new society, so him being fine with his death is so annoying. The strongest actually didn't get what he wanted, he just had "fun" and that was enough, apparently. Yeah, no, fuck you.

I'm scared for the futur of jjk

Gege is the creator, the writer, the artist, the mangaka behind Jujutsu Kaisen and so, Gojo Satoru. They are their god. They had the power to make Gojo's interesting, to develop him more, to make him more weak in other aspect, to use his flaws against him, but they didn't. And that's why Gege is lazy to me. Because they refused to do the work to make things better, they chose the easy way to deal with a strong character: killing them. They kept on complaining about Gojo, like they had no power over the writing. And look, they hated Gojo for being "too strong" so they killed him, but now Sukuna and Kenjiro are too strong. Gege just keeps shooting themself in the foot.

This is my personal opinion, and you can disagree completely (don't try to change my mind, tho)

Gege has also mentioned not liking my son, my sun, my boy, Yuji, so what now? Will he also hurt his character because of that? And he has already killed like half of the characters we have been following since the beginning, which is disappointing. Like, I was invested in them, and now I'm supposed to watch some new guys, I have no interested in, fight the big bad? I'm not saying they're bad characters or boring, but it's not the fucking same. It feels like it has just become a "Who is the strongest?! Fight! Fight! Fight!" story, and sorry, but I can watch sports for that little connections or interests in the personal stories or goals (fr, I feel more connection to Teddy Riner, French Judoka, and the strongest in the world. Damn, another strongest interesting guy. He actually lost at the last Olympic Games, we were shocked). I love One Piece (and this is why it is a success) because the characters are following their dreams. They have been going into fights for more than 1000 chapters, and I read them all MULTIPLE TIMES because there's a deep connection to the characters. I love watching Luffy fights because I want him to be the King of the Pirates, because I want the people who have been wronged to get justice, because I want the pos in front of him to get their ass beat. And, as he fights to become King of the Pirates, it has a butterfly effect on the whole world and the oppressive system is crumbling. It's not just a fight. And Jujutsu Kaisen is becoming "just a fight", which seem to be enough to most male reader, but I personally find it boring.

And to think that Chihiro was the most controversial character. Then again that character probably still is because at the very least the Hiyoko drama is limited to one person. Chihiro involves multiple people.

Hi! You can answer this publicly or privately, but I figured maybe someone else might have a similar question? I just wanted to ask about your personal reasons for using it/its pronouns.

I ask bc I've come across two different characters, now, in media I enjoy, that use it/its pronouns. And I've enjoyed seeing it! They're both two of my favorite characters in their respective media. And i think im kinda questioning whether or not my excitement for these characters (particularly when pronouns are discussed bc they're both great characters outside of that fact) is just bc it's nice to see representation, even beyond they/them pronouns, or if maybe I should consider it/its for myself? I'm not sure, I just thought hearing other people's experiences could potentially help me figure that out. Thank you for your time!

First of all, whatever pronouns you want to use is entirely up to you! Nobody gets to tell you what to use and what not to use, or what to try out and change later if you don't like it. If you feel like you want to try a set of pronouns, try it! If it doesn't jive, just change it again. There is no limit to how many pronouns or labels you can use, try, drop, pick up again, or how many times you change it. If it sounds like it/its makes you happy, go for it, even if it just "just" because of characters you like. There's nothing wrong with being influenced by the stories that are important to you.

My reason for using it is mostly trauma-based. All my life I've felt a significant disconnect from my own body, but I didn't realize I had a dissociative disorder until I was like 24. A combination of child abuse causing the disorder, where I never felt like my body was/is me, just that I'm a thing inhabiting the body, possessing it like a spirit- and also lifelong bullying and ostracizing by my peers both contributed to it. There are many times I don't feel like a man or a woman, or a nonbinary person, or any type of person at all. I was dehumanized; I had my humanity stripped from me, including my gender. Fat autistic weird 'girls' aren't treated like girls, intersex tomboys aren't treated like boys, we're treated like monsters. Like kicked dogs. I existed only to be abused by the people around me- my parents and teachers who were supposed to protect me, and the peers who should have been my friends and community. Freaks don't have genders, those are for people. And I was constantly reminded that I did not count as a person.

I very much associate the bullying I endured with my gender nonconformity. I was an afab intersex person- I was a girl of age like 13 with a moustache and beard growing in. I was fat, and my fat never distributed to the 'desired' places for a girl (also, this was like 2008. There was no 'desired place' for fat on girls). Other kids knew or sensed things were different about me- that I was queer in multiple ways, that I had several mental illnesses, that I was fat and ugly and was friends only with other rejects, meaning nobody gave a shit what happened to us. There would be no one to come to our defense no matter how severely we were harmed. We didn't matter.

When I found out I was a system, it put a lot into perspective. The disconnect from the body, from my identity, from my own memories (which are all in third person) made more sense. My other is not human. At first I assumed the "it-ness" was because of this, but actually he doesn't like to be called it at all. It hurts him. It doesn't fit. The it-ness is from me. It's an expression of the gender experience I was denied, a reclamation of the othering I suffered. I don't count as human. I will never be worth being human, or having typical human experiences. I will never be allowed into the club. But it turns out there are other clubs out here- humanity and the cisgender binary are not the only options. I no longer see my othering as "be human or just die," but as "not human? Cool, come try one of these other myriad things." There are so many more things you can be besides human.

This makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Firstly, good. People should be uncomfortable with the cruelty I endured and the marks it left. People should be uncomfortable that they probably participated in othering people as children, and maybe even still do it as adults, and they should be uncomfortable that society is raising their children to continue to do this. It is, in a way, a little bit like my pronouns being fuck/you, or examine/yourselves. Some of it's shock value, and I like that.

Secondly, the shit I get the most is from other trans people, saying I'm somehow harming the trans community because other people call us "its" as an insult. If someone were to call me a she, that is incorrect, and could be used as an insult- they're misgendering me, they're trying to hurt me. This is not the fault of the word "she" and I'm not going to go up to a trans woman and say "this word hurts me, so you cant use it. No more she/her pronouns for you." We are not all going to have the same comfort level with words. I don't like being called a dyke, but dykes do. Some people don't like being called queer, but lots of us do. Some people don't like being called it, but I do. Either way, I get to decide what I am called, and other people get to decide what they are called, and nobody else gets to veto someone's identity. If someone doesn't like calling me it? Then they don't have to talk to me. If they won't respect my pronouns, they're not any better than people who would call me she or her. I don't need their input or validation.

If you do decide to try out it pronouns, I would say be prepared for backlash, but also don't let it effect you. Block people liberally, joyously even. Don't argue. Don't bother. You do not have to justify who you are. And, consider "soft launching" your pronouns! Maybe tell a couple close friends, or just the internet, and if it goes well, expand to other people, and then other people. Roll it out in stages while you get comfortable and try things and assess. You don't owe anyone a coming out; you can decide if, when, how, and to whom you explain yourself, if you ever do it at all.

As an aside, I want to make a distinction here- I'm not otherkin. I don't say I don't count as human because I am some other type of creature just in a human body this reincarnation. This is not a spiritual belief, or even a psych-kin thing. This is purely a product of trauma, something that was foisted upon me that I am now reclaiming, not something innate to my identity. I don't want people to conflate my experience with that of otherkin and be like "see? you're not really [whatever], you're just traumatized!" I hope people will not use my experience to police other people's identities. I am speaking only for myself.

How the Personal (Pronoun) becomes Political

(I will be using English in my examples however quite a bit of this critique will apply regardless of what language you speak.)

You are likely familiar with the media trope where the characters happen upon a person or item that tells them "it's/they're coming!" in a very ominous fashion as the characters then declare "what's/who's coming!?" or perhaps the classic "they're here" as something spooky happens, like a silhouette appearing behind a window.

The intention of these ambiguities is to cause tension to rise due to fear of an unknown threat, though the viewers tension might more realistically be rising because they're very tired of this trope. This is possible due to vague pronoun usage.

Pronouns are words that communicate who or what is being spoken about without having to use the entire noun, for example TheFunPolice would be "I" (1st person), and whoever I am speaking to would be "you" (2nd person). Jane Goodall would be "she" (3rd person singular female) and Terry Prachett would be "he" (3rd person singular male). The Amazon River Basin would be "it" (3rd person singular non-human) and group of people, like Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, would be "they" (3rd person plural).

Pronouns are more complicated than that on a grammatical level, for example I didn't mention "us" or "we" or how "it" can be used multiple ways, as in "it's me", but that's not important to our discussion today.

What is important is that pronouns are used to communicate simple information about a subject of discussion. That is why 3rd person pronouns are often sexed while 1st and 2nd person are not. If two people are standing across from each other speaking then the sex of each is obvious and doesn't need to be communicated, I and you suffice. If someone not present is being spoken about then their sex is not obvious and needs to be communicated via "he" or "she" pronouns.

So, when someone uses the singular "they" or a neo-pronoun like "fae" instead of "he" or "she" you get the same effect discussed in the above "they're here" trope; information about the subject remains ambiguous which means one can't make a fully informed assessment.

There is another media trope similar to "they're here" which illustrates another issue with improper pronoun usage: misleading pronouns. If you've watched a mystery show and they make a strong point of saying "he" or "she" for the potential criminal only to be shocked as it is relieved that this was a misdirect and the criminal was the opposite sex than expected then you've seen the misleading pronoun trope.

Again, when someone uses "she" for a male or "he" for a female this means information about the subject isn't just ambiguous but downright false which also results in one being unable to make a fully informed assessment.

For why this is an issue consider this: Let's say I am a disabled woman. I am statistically at high risk of abuse. My family is looking to hire a caregiver for me to help with my personal care and go through a local care service. The care service says they think Alex would be a good fit for me and "she" or "they" can start next week. Next week comes and Alex shows up to my home only for me to find out Alex is actually male. This puts me at even higher risk of abuse, especially sexual abuse. This is a very bad situation for me to be in. If I refuse care then not only do I not get my needs met today but the care service could refuse to send another carer at all. If I don't refuse care then I would be unsafe and uncomfortable and possibly be abused.

There are lots of other situations where this applies because there are lots of situations where sex is relevant, for example when a medical professional needs to know what dosage of medication to give a patient, which can vary based on sex.

Even outside of that, there are more intricate social issues at play here, specially the right of others to have their own perceptions and express them. Sexed pronouns are mostly used outside of conversation with the person they're referring to because they're 3rd person pronouns. That means when someone has "preferred" pronouns and requires you to use them then they are regulating how you talk to other people about them.

So, if someone female asks me to refer to them as "he" and I do so in a conversation with other people then those people will assume the person I'm speaking about is male and use "he" for them as well and so on and so forth when they talk to other people. All of these people will form a false perception of this person that likely won't be corrected unless they happen to meet in real life.

This kind of control over other people's perceptions is dangerous. It makes it so one cannot assert basic obvious factual information about a subject, information that strongly effects people's perceptions of said subject. This means one is effectively told "you can't believe your own perceptions of reality, I define reality for you", a tactic commonly utilized by abusers or other people with ill intentions.

A man who wants to earn the trust of someone vulnerable might go by "she" knowing most people are going to assume a woman is less of a threat. A woman who wants to avoid being held accountable for a crime may go by "he" to lead people to believe someone else was the perpetrator. Someone wanting to misdirect conversations about themselves so people can't call out their past behaviors may go by complicated neo-pronouns so the conversation is always focused on policing oneself to say the right thing and policing others who use the "incorrect" pronouns instead of what happened.

This can also work against people who are vulnerable. Using "he" for a woman could end up getting her frisked by a male police officer who is more likely to abuse her. Using "she" for a little boy may make him more likely to be targeted by sexual predators. Using "they" for someone who's missing will make them harder to identify and therefore harder to find.

I can sympathize with those who feel they don't want to be defined by their sex, but sexed pronouns aren't an insult, they just communicate if one is female or male (not feminine or masculine), which shouldn't be any more controversial than saying the color of one's eyes or the length of one's arms. It's simply a facet of your person, one should not feel limited by it. The texture of my hair certainly doesn't define my personality or interests, why should my sex?

The fact of the matter is that sex is important, knowing the biological sex of a subject is relevant to other information about them and colors our perceptions of them. Not being able to communicate that information makes people more vulnerable all around and reinforces the idea that sex does define who we are as individuals rather than letting who we are speak for us.

Hi! Just a forewarning that this is meant with no malintent!

I saw on that post that you reblogged about misgendering Frisk/Chara/Kris in AUs and your tags saying something about ‘anyone who does that didn’t understand the original story’. I’m not sure if this is entirely true, but I thought that with Frisk and Chara having they/them pronouns (or being nb) in the original game, was to allow a greater variety of people to play and be interested? I thought it was just to be sort of a placeholder, so that if someone who uses he/him plays the game, he could interpret Frisk as a male (for example)?

Also, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to interact with someone who makes an AU with an altered Frisk/Chara/Kris? If I’m going by my previously mentioned thought, then wouldn’t having an AU of a specifically female Frisk be that creator’s interpretation? But also, AUs aren’t supposed to be like the original, that’s the whole fun of it! If someone makes an AU where Undyne is transmasc and is in a relationship with Papyrus, then would that make a difference? Would that be offensive?

Making an AU is basically making a whole twisted group of OCs based off of characters, so why can’t they take their own creative liberties?

Hi!! I don’t interact with people a bunch so I wasn’t expecting any questions lmao- but!! I’ll try to explain as best I can.

So the short of it is: they’re not supposed to be taken as a player insert. They exist as characters outside of the player’s influence and this is established for every single one of them. Deltarune even likes to remind you at every chance it gets that Kris isn’t you, and you aren’t them. The idea that they only use they/them pronouns so that people can choose is incorrect because they’re not blank slates.

The idea that these characters would only use they/them pronouns or be nonbinary because it’d allow people to choose is also transphobic because it implies that as long as a person is using they/them pronouns anyone can choose, regardless of whether that person is actually okay with it or not. You can’t go up to someone who uses they/them pronouns and say “you’re a man because I’m a man and I relate to your experiences”, that’s just,,, not how that works at all. Someone, even a fictional character, using they/them pronouns isn’t an automatic pass to choose a set of pronouns for them. This is what you are given, and this is what you use.

I wouldn’t want to interact with someone like that for a couple reasons: the above thing that I just said, being that having a nonbinary identity isn’t a placeholder so that any random stranger can choose what pronouns they’re most comfortable calling you. If you understand that these characters are characters and not inserts and you still decide to disregard the multiple times they’re referred to as they/them then you are being transphobic, and I won’t be around someone who is okay with that.

There’s also the simple fact that I can understand not being aware of Frisk not being a player insert, as it’s not made obvious until the end of the pacifist run, but Kris and Chara don’t have excuses. If you can’t see the obvious multitude of times that it’s shoved in your face then I have to wonder if you’re actually paying attention to the core themes and characterizations, and tenfold for Deltarune. I mean, that’s like half the plot right there: Kris is being possessed and they’re making sure you know they hate it. They’re doing everything they can to scream at you without a voice, “I am my own person, and I don’t want you here.” If you can look at that and think “yea, that’s a character whose entire existence is up to me” then like. What else did you miss???

The reason why it doesn’t work the same way as making Undyne transmasc (to use your example lol) is because you’re not taking anything away from anybody or hurting anybody by doing that. There are not a lot of nonbinary characters out there, and the fact that we’ve gotten three main characters in one franchise is a goddamn miracle. It’s similar to making a canonically gay character straight or a POC character white or a binary trans person cis. You’re taking representation away from a group that needs it.

Also, a lot of people say this all the time, but you wouldn’t do the same for any cis character. Like Sonic, Omori, The Last Of Us, Mario, etc, you won’t say that just because we play as whatever character means that we’re supposed to project our gender onto them. Sunny doesn’t become a girl if a woman plays Omori and decides to call him Lyla Womanname, so why should Kris, Frisk, and Chara?

I never did this quite right the first time. Get ready, cause this may be a long one. May be oversharing, but hey no character limit and I feel like being super in depth in my soon to be pinned post is on brand. -Ahem-

Hello! You can call me Denise. I use she/her pronouns and I am 32 years old (ancient for Tumblr, I know) with a love for writing fantasy and romance with a lot of dark elements and intrigue. My characters can be messy and sweet and that makes them good to me. I have a lot of bad things happen to my characters, but I like a triumphant tale in the end where at least most people are happy or things turn out alright. I really have fallen for each and every one of my characters and feel the world in general needs some hope in conflict. I am bisexual/biromantic, demisexual/demiromantic, and polyamorous, so a lot of my characters are queer in some fashion. I love writing demi characters and polyam relationships the most so far, though it's taking a bit of build-up to get my first series to that point. My partner (married) is non-binary and I have trans and token cis-het friends and more, so I feel I have a good group helping and reading my books so that my characters come off the page as they should, even if I'm writing a label not my own. I'm also disabled, and in two of my three current projects there is a disabled character present. I only found this out a few years ago, slightly before the pandemic (wooo) and I still have no idea what's causing most of my issues even though doctors have proven something is wrong. I may have an undiagnosable condition with no name yet, so please be patient if I'm not quick to respond or post a lot. I have chronic pain, fatigue, GI issues, and migraines. Going to rattle off some ending facts about myself here. I love playing DnD and have an over two year campaign ongoing right now where I play a sorcerer. I adore cosplaying when I can afford it. I'm addicted to Final Fantasy 14. I still play Pokemon. I have been watching anime since I was about eight years old, which was at the same time I began writing my own stories, so I've been in this for a while now. I hope to always keep improving. I have a BA in English with emphasis in Creative Writing, and though it hasn't served in finding me gainful employment, I hope it helps me in entertaining with my words, which is what I always longed for anyway. Judith and Chit are called to the lonely tower outside their city with little explanation. The one who summoned them is an old, elven wizard named Maleth, who will send them on a quest to lower their floating city of Arigale to where it once resided. Maleth is intrigued by Judith’s strange form of necromantic magic, yet he is also certain of the anxious young man in training to be a spearman and scholar.

Judith, a bubbly yet mysterious young woman, is eager to accept. Chit remains withdrawn and cautious, a remnant of being raised by the Order that presides over their land. Soon, both discover their meeting with the wizard carried dire consequences. Can they accomplish what has been asked of them and save Arigale by exploring the land below, no matter the lengths they must go to?

Judith and Chit's journey across the seas to Galavarn was not as smooth as they had hoped for. The standard of living here is much different than what they encountered on the mainland, and the newfound bond between them will be tested. Enigmas run rampant here, along with a woman from Maleth’s past who claims to hold the key to defeating them for good. Unfortunately, this woman has an unruly and strangely apathetic nature to her, along with a profound hatred toward their distant companion on Arigale. 

Meanwhile, back on the mainland, those left behind must bear their own struggles as a stranger appears and insists on taking one of their number with him. This man with red, sunken eyes bears a sharp grudge against Stemoss and worse obligations to a certain deity. 

Secrets of the past will come to light on this desolate isle, and the friends left behind will struggle to not become a cog in a plan devised long before they were even born.

When Lyra Morley accepted a rough and tumble new hire from her bar, she didn't think he would end up her new roommate in a week. Noel Akatash brings his own debts, and the people holding the accounts aren't to be trifled with. Magical home invasions aside, Lyra is more worried about her business serving the city nightlife any food she can handle all made to order.

Cooking with a halfbreed's sense of smell comes with its perks, and one of them is that she can hide her skills in the kitchen so no one is any wiser about her true nature. The night-only diner called Made to Taste is meant to be a haven for those the city would rather keep buried. Lyra, the pacifist and abstinent dhampir, would fight to keep it safe. Good thing Noel knows a thing or two about being scrappy.

Emma Reed, 26, has a Master of the Arts and no place to put it but in her desk drawer. Once proud of her accomplishment, the lights quickly dimmed when she ended up living back in her old childhood bedroom at her parents place and flat broke. Helping Adrien with graphics for their streaming or Sarah with banners for her pet business is all well and good, but it's not at all how she imagined scrapping by. When her newest piece is rejected from the gallery she had finally convinced to give her a chance, Emma hits a downward spiral.

When she awakens, she finds herself in a strange new world with a strange man hovering around her. He calls himself Jasper, a dream painter, and quickly proves his prowess at sculpting others' dreams. Emma was in his care, but though he's petitioned her to wake up, she can't. Neither knows how she ended up in this place, but surrounded by the dreams of others quite literally brought to life around her, Emma makes the decision to stay.

Jasper won't let her. For one, if she stays there is no telling how badly that could go for her, or for his hopes of a promotion. Emma goes along with his plan to cart her across this new place, more as a sightseeing tour than the arduous task he finds it to be. Along the way, a bit of the light comes back into her eyes, and he can't help but remember how bright they both used to shine. Dulled and muddied palettes that they both became, can they start over?

I have to talk about chapter 370

I don't do these very often, but this chapter was REALLY important to me because it revealed a lot of little details that I've been looking for in this series for a long time. Mostly in regards to my writing, but also just in general.

For starters, THIS is where they were keeping Kurogiru?! We've seen Central Hospital before, but I've only ever associated it with the treatment of top heroes and important individuals, like after the war. I headcanoned through my fic that they had basement levels for treating and dealing with villains, so I'm intrigued to see some truth to it! No mention of Mr. Compress, though... they had to have treated his injuries from the war somewhere. Could it have been here too? And then afterwards he was transferred to a prison?

Honestly, it makes sense that they've bolstered their ranks. A lot of members of the MLA seemed like ordinary civilians in the first place. It's a little detail, but seeing the CRC heads on stakes really sticks out to me. I thought that insidious group might never be mentioned again after the League dealt with them. I'm guessing that, even being a less popular group these days, this newly unified legion of mutants could still find pockets where they were still active. Perhaps after this stand, the CRC will be extinguished altogether. But as this chapter points out, the on-going threat of discrimatory acts against mutant-types is still very pervasive.

I wrote about this guy a little bit! Wish we'd gotten a name (and pronouns tbh) but I'm glad to see them taking up a role in all this. I was curious about them before! They were a supervisor for the Brown Regiment; I bet they're already quite used to assisting Spinner in leadership. Speaking of Spinner...

I... I don't exactly have the words. I LOVE Spinner. He always struck me as someone who was sweet but tenacious, and I valued him for that. When we first saw him different like this, I thought he'd been using Trigger or some other quirk-enhancing drug. But now we know that ALL FOR ONE GAVE HIM ANOTHER QUIRK.

I am LIVID at AfO. Like, I've detested him for a while now, just because of what he did to Shigaraki and Touya, but that man seems dead-set on dealing out as much damage to each member of the League as he can. After Spinner was so loyal to the League and Shigaraki especially, it just feels like a slap in the face that he'd end up this way. I don't think Spinner knew what he was signing up for when he took this new quirk. AfO is incredibly manipulative. He won't care what happens to Spinner. I know the multiple quirks CAN be done with people, but depending on how demanding the quirk is, they don't mesh well!! That stuff is usually for nomu, and the specifically altered bodies that allow them to hold these different abilities. I can see the strain of the quirk really pushing Spinner's limits. I want him to get out of this okay...

And then! Shouji's face!!! We finally get to see it outside of his concept sketches! I, uh, don't remember his og design having those scars, though. Makes me wonder how he got them... we really haven't ever seen him without the mask. Ever. Not in his dorm or changing room or anything. But I want to assume that some students have seen under his mask, since he wears it so that he doesn't scare or intimidate the people around him.

I bet Tokoyami has seen his face. I'm sure there's very certain circumstances in which Shouji feels comfortable showing people what he looks like. I mean, anyone can tell at a glance that he's a mutant type quirk user, but the presence of the mask has always seemed like a comfort thing for someone who's already very aware of how they look to others. If other characters with mutant traits are any indication, then he's had it hard based on his appearance before.

If you had free reins over a new batman cartoon adaptation, how would you go about it?

SMILEEESSSS okay so :-) it would be like. multiple seasons. okay? like we're going LONG HAUL on this bitch. it would follow my personal canon of events (mostly post-crisis pre-flashpoint w some modifications and inclusion of a tiny bit of rebirth stuff) and i can't explain how i'd like the art to look but i can picture it.

i'd want it to be very... balanced. like i'd want parts to be dark, but there could still be opportunity for fun. i'd want a lot of focus on motive, on why, on emotions. and maybe not even explicitly you know!! like just. character study stuff.

i want it to show off complicated relationships, where people hurt each other and no one is right or wrong and there's anger where there is love too. and that's not just like the "bat family" in here. i want to explore bruce and harvey/two face. i want to explore bruce and harley and healing from trauma. i want the joker to only be relevant for a few seasons before they start paying attention to other villains.

i think the series begins with bruce in his early days as batman. he's already become batman and has been going at it for a while (we don't need another origin story. there's too fucking many.)

and while i do want to focus a lot on the robins, i don't want it in a WFA-style thing.

i don't know how to explain it but they wouldn't be living all together under one big roof. things happen. people fight. people are outsiders. they try to kill eachother. you know? not everyone is happy together.

other misc. things i wanna include:

barbara stays in her wheelchair 4 ever and is dykey with babs

jason is never fully reintegrated in the family. and if he has to be, it's after a LOT of time and work, and would only come at the end of the series, so there's no awkward jump from villain to Beloved Family Member like there sometimes is in some comics.

running gag of tim drake being lame as fuck. also robin branded skateboard that he falls off of

spoiler rolerskates. enough said. also steph has curly hair

duke has better hair than the fucking. bullshit they give him in 90% of the comics.

damian and talia being visibly brown. NO GREEN EYES!!!!!!!! and they get to interact with their culture in a normal way and people are consulted on this.

bruce is jewish. he has a bat-themed menorah. this is never explicitly mentioned but it is present in the background.

cass' disability is portrayed well. she doesn't speak normally or use sign language but her own way of communicating.

clark is there sometimes!!! they have a thing going on but it never becomes official, not because i don't want them to, but because bruce is shit at communication.

bette cameos. idk how she'd fit in with the timeline i just want her there.

duke and jason being assholes to eachother but like in a way where you're like oh ueah these guys are brothers.

dick and damian being best brothers/father and son ever

hm. well i first got attached to rei circa mid july of 2020 (sage how do you remember the date so specifically? fuck if i know dude). i had originally been really attached to kanata (i still am. i love her) and roughly put: i was struggling with realizing i'm autistic (i thought it was adhd and that every autist in the world was being dramatic because "everyone does that" as it turns out, they don't) at the time and rei just kinda fuckin. i don't know. made it fall into place if that makes sense.

like rei just hit me as a character who just so strongly reminded me of myself. there's a lot of personal stuff there i could get into but to give the spark notes of it: i have always largely been attached as a "gifted kid who had so much going for them!" that i'd be treated as an adult and expected to just. solve adult problems. and to see a character who had also been levied with that and had just kinda fucking given up entirely really echoed the shit i was going through. so like. that's kinda what drew me to him i think. also i thought he was silly

well here's my favorite lore tidbits in ties to me at least. rei is inadvertently what got me to study japanese (1: enstars TLs are hard to find and i'm incredibly lazy and hate asking for help so about a year ago i was like fuck it! and now i'm learning it and 2: i liked his use of multiple 1st person pronouns in easter). my girlfriend and i actually bonded over enstars (rei + kaoru in particular) so he inadvertently got us together. the fact he can play violin got me really impassioned about my music studies for about a month

my favorite lore bits in general? i looove his dynamic with 2wink. i adore sad grandpa and his overactive kids (+ brother dynamics here. how the aois look completely just like. get along fine get along great!! from the outside when in actuality they have a dynamic not. horribly far from the sakumas. less overtly violent but still very 'younger brother feels overshadowed by the older, and older brother is sometimes kind of a prick'). i absolutely adoreeeee his dynamic with kaoru in crossroads. i love the dichotomy between rei, as someone who's spent his entire life as being "gifted" and bearing the ugly burden of it, getting told off by kaoru, someone's who's "normal." like i love how they're both opposites of each other yet both just as disillusioned with the world in 2nd year. i could go crazy talking about kaorei Ok anyway. i love how ultimately rei is still kind despite what he says about himself. he might whine and insist he's a "dark demon of the night" or something but i feel like that comes from his guilt of feeling like he's unable to just. solve everyone's problems. that's how he lost the war!! he tried so hard to save everyone that he ultimately couldn't save anyone + destroyed his own relationships in the process. i love how the way he's "selfish" is by standing up for himself and saying he's not going to just fix everyone's problems for them anymore. and i like how his conflict with koga reflects this; it's not that koga is dumb or anything, but that he's staring at rei with rose tinted glasses. he sees rei as an idol (arguably, he's just as bad as those who demand rei fix their problems) first and foremost and can't understand why rei would just stop being his idol. god. undead dynamic. i feel like his dynamic with ritsu is also fucking crazy. and i think ritsu is right not to just point blank forgive him tbh. enstars is great cause you can see how both of them are just hurting the other by acting the way they do but how they're both so similar + stubborn they'll refuse to admit it. and how rei says that even if ritsu hates him he's still his big brother?? good lord. i'm a sucker for older siblings in media (checks out! i am an older sibling)

outside of the serious stuff, rei is also great cause he looooves acting like he's stupid. he loves to pretend he doesn't have 8 different master plans rotating in his brain at any given time. he loved pulling the "ohh i wouldn't know i'm just stupid 🥺" card and it's fucking crazy. there's something wrong with his brain. he genuinely knows how to help people form his past experiences but doesn't want to become so over relied on again that he constantly plays the "ohhh i am just so old and my bones are so creaky :( my genuinely helpful advice was just a fluke!" card ALL THE TIME. i think it's funny how he loves to tease people. act all haughty and then be like "haha wouldn't it be funny if you sucked on my boob." it's fun because he's just like. still a Guy beneath his 8 levels of demon hell. he's just very silly. i like that he skips class all the time to sleep, too.

and like (slaps the top of oddballs) these guys can fit SO much found family. you're telling me 5 guys who have consistently been outed from their peer groups for "weird" interests/abilities/family shenanigans finally meet up in high school, get stuck in a weird trauma hell for a year, and they're NOT going to have a weirdly strong bond of trust that it's something to fear? good lord. they make me feel crazy. i love that they ultimately end up making a home for themselves and they remain close friends after the fact (hell, if i remember right they were friends even before eichi did eichi things. he's just kinda what cemented them and really knit them together). i love natsume and his 2 sets of parents

It gives so much dept to a character like I have been wanting to explore a side of Kazuha during his time running away from the vision hunt degree before he meets Beidou and his past with his parents. sjahdkjsha (2.8 GAA has hade a huge impact in this). Fluff is something that goes quite well with angst imo. Smut is what I would write on discord kinda like the whole behind closed doors thing. ✿ PLOTS OR MEMES: Some memes are amazing plot ideas U_U

Tesha was a member of Joey's crew, but fell off the ship in a storm, about a month before he himself fell off. She washed up on the shores of Sanctuary and has been living there ever since.

Because of the way her vocal cords are structured and the mandibles hanging from her mouth, Tesha has a lot of difficulty speaking English.

She can say a couple one or two syllable words, including the four cardinal directions, yes and no, danger, hi, and about a third of the crew's names

Think of how endermen can talk, but with spider noises instead

As such, the crew communicated with her with their own version of sign language, which was an incomprehensible mishmash of various different types of sign from multiple empires from both the past and the present.

She also had a handheld chalkboard she could use to write on for those who couldn't decipher the sign language, which was basically everyone who wasn't on the crew

She is extremely physically affectionate, very cuddly, and when she grabs onto you, it's near impossible to get her off

She didn't get involved in battles unless it was absolutely necessary, because she has a distaste for violence and very sensitive hearing, so the sounds of cannons going off was physically painful to her

However, whenever Joey was threatening someone, making negotiations, striking a deal, or really just talking to an outsider at all, Tesha liked to loom in the background, as her spider-limbs gave her quite a bit of height and adds to the intimidation factor

She is fascinated by bees. One time, while at a port, she spied a bunch of bees buzzing around a couple of flowers, and stopped to watch them. Joey and his crew ended up being recognized as pirates and had to hurry out of the harbor quickly, and in the confusion, didn't realize that Tesha wasn't with them until about five minutes after they had set sail

When they turned back around, she was still with the bees, and hadn't even realized the crew members she was with had left her side

Rules/Guidelines:

- Please don’t constantly remind me of an RP - if you’ve replied then I’ve probably seen it and I’m working on getting to it. I get overwhelmed easily and being reminded of RPs constantly only adds to that and makes me less likely to be able to reply to our RP at all. Please give me at least 2 to 3 days before tagging me or giving me a reminder!

- If you don’t want to interact with me, please just hard block me. I will never remember who’s soft blocked me even if you tell me, so it’s better to just outright block me so I don’t accidentally make the mistake of following you again.

- I don’t do smut RP! Not even in PMs! That being said I will do gore type RPs and the like, as my Twilight is a mad scientist who does pretty cruel experiments.

- No godmodding. This means no taking control of my characters and saying what they’re doing/how they’re feeling/etc.

- I also do not RP in PMs unless you’re a personal friend that I know very well. Otherwise, I’ll only RP on the blog itself.

- Please don’t ask for my Discord unless we’ve been RPing on here for a while, I prefer to RP on Tumblr in general rather than Discord so I’d rather not give it out to just anyone.

- I will try to remember to trigger tag anything I see fit, but if you have a specific trigger you need me to tag please let me know! I’ll always tag them as tw followed by the trigger (example: #tw gore)

- I’m not mutuals only! If you’re following me I probably meant to follow you back and just forgot, or there may be some other reason why I’m not. But I’m completely fine with RPing with non-mutuals! That being said I do have anxiety about messaging someone first so it may take me a bit of courage to finally message you, mutual or not, so if you’re feeling braver than me feel free to inbox me any time!

- I’m not very selective, but please try to have at least one to two sentences in your reply! Preferably at least one paragraph. It’s really hard to reply to something or progress the plot when you’re only giving me one word or a super short sentence as a reply every time.

- Sending me random starters is ALWAYS welcome! Even if I haven’t reblogged or posted anything about starters, it’s always okay to just send me one or ask me if I could make us one. Random non-starter asks are also always fine and loved.

- I love crossovers! And OCs! Pretty much whoever your character is, I’m almost definitely willing to RP with them.

- I multi-ship and I’m also okay with polyam shipping as well, but Twilight isn’t really looking for a date and romance isn’t my favorite, so it might be difficult to get her to develop a crush on your muse unless it’s something we’ve already discussed. She does have a slight crush on Sunset Shimmer, however.

- Please remember muse ≠ mun, Twilight does some really messed up stuff that I do not agree with in the slightest. Me and Twilight do not share the same beliefs and it is really important to remember that.

hello! hope your day is going well :)! i would like to ask for a romantic hazbin hotel matchup please! i am AFAB gender-fluid masculine leaning and im pan and polyamorus (i am fine with monogamous relationships) and i use all pronouns! i am fine with any character of any gender and i am fine with multiple characters. 

I am tall, around 6ft and i have a chubby build. i have some scars from self harm, but i’m mentally healthy now. 

i don’t really have a type for the kind of people i like, i’m very open. i have a very strong sense of justice/right and wrong and i try my best to do what’s right. i am often selfless but that contradicts how i act/behave, i act very riled up and reckless but i do truly care for others. i have schizophrenia so that often affects how i see things and act. i have a lot of hallucinations and delusions but i’m usually quite self aware. i have a hard time accepting reality for what it is, i need someone to help ground me and be ok with being here. i am also autistic, i have a lot of hyperfixations and special interests, but my favorites are toy collecting, specifically stuff like my little pony and littlest pet shop and stuff like that and i also really like clowns, they make me very happy. i like doing things that remind me of my childhood. i really like talking with friends and such, i can talk for HOURS about so much shit, i like having someone to match my energy. i love rambling about my favorite things and interests but i am also very willing to listen to others! i have been told i have very good input and advice in nearly all situations, i have a lot of clarity when it comes to how i view things. my MBTI is ISTP, but i’ve been told i often act like a ENTP. i really like keeping myself busy with a bunch of different fun things to do, if i do nothing for too long i get anxious and depressed, i need frequent mental stimulation. i really like drawing and writing and i’ve been getting into making music. 

i dress really comfy and i look like i just rolled out of bed always 😭 my favorite things to wear are worn out oversized hoodies and shirts with characters and stuff on them and comfy pj pants with cute designs and characters on them. i don’t take the best care of myself physically but i think i’ve been getting better. my room is SUPER fucking messy, like so messy every step you take you hear a crinkling of a water bottle and keep tripping on random items 😭 i need someone to help motivate me to clean it lmao.

i am often very chaotic but i mean well, i’m very energetic at times and i love joking about things like eating people, i kind of like being threatening. 

i love showing people i care by doing things for them and just spending time with them, i like being in their presence. my favorite acts to receive are gifts and acts of service, it makes me very happy!

i don’t really understand how other people work, kind of like i’m an outsider, i like studying them and overall being around them.

i LOVE sleeping, i can sleep 12+ hours easy, it’s my favorite part of the day JSJSJDJF

You and Charlie have so much in common, you two always encourage each other. And just like Charlie you need a Vaggie to ground you to earth (hell?) Fun fact, all people I match with Charlie had be hesitating with Vaggie and vice versa.

Your love language is something both of them need. Charlie love language is words and acts of service while Vaggie love language is acts of service. You three always help out each other and do your best so the other two are happy. This creates a healthy and fun dynamic. It even has its own funny moments where one of you try to plan a surprise only to see her lover (s) doing the same. It's a goofy yet loving relationship. Vaggie, despite her rough and serious character completely melts when you and Charlie are nearby. She's your scary dog privilege (Charlie is actually the dangerous one but shhh) which is nice with how reckless you and Charlie can be.

A common trait in the three of you is your sense of justice. I mean...you know the plot of hazbin hotel so it's a glaring fact here. You always consult with each other before making a decision.The girls are your safe space, they always make sure you're happy and comfortable in every situation. Each night you three cuddle and talk about your day. You and Charlie often engage in nostalgic conversations and compare your childhood under the loving gaze of Vaggie.

So...You Want to be a Writeblr? | A Crash Course and Resource Guide

This post was primarily made for people wanting to make a writeblr and those new to the community in mind, but can be used for anyone. So, who am I? Hi, Maddie here. I've been on writeblr for a few years so I'm pretty sure I know how this whole writeblr thing works, and I wanted to give some advice that worked for me to new writeblrs who might not know where to start!

This crash course will generally cover these topics:

interacting with the community

graphics, edits, and where to make them

helpful blogs

but if you'd like me to go over something that I missed or glossed over, feel free to send me an ask!

The first decision you'll have to make is whether your writeblr will be a primary or secondary blog. Primary blogs allows you to reply and follow other writeblrs as your writeblr, but it will require making another tumblr account if you want a clean slate. Secondary blogs will make it easier to keep everything under one account and move/change primary blogs as needed, but you can only interact with others as your primary blog outside of reblogs.

Once you've made your blog, I recommend taking some time to choose a good blog theme for people who visit your blog. You want something visually pleasing and easy to read/navigate.

@writerthemes is an entire blog centered on finding themes and pages for writeblrs.

— intros and formatting them.

Once you have your blog set up, go and make a writeblr intro! These serve to get your name out into the community and is a quick way show people who you are and what you're working on. You can format your intros however you want, but I recommend including these key points.

Writeblr intros tend to follow this general format:

General Personal Info: Name you'd like to go by, pronouns, age*, a little bit about yourself and your hobbies (optional)

Your WIPs: If you have multiple, give a brief summary of the plot and its genres. If you plan to only have one, feel free to combine your writeblr and wip intro

*Age: a lot of people on writeblr are young and/or cautious of people they interact with. It's absolutely ok to not specify your age, but at least indicate whether you are an adult or a minor and do not lie about your age range.

WIP Intros are a great way to summarize what your wip is about to anyone wanting to learn more. Most WIP intros tend to include the:

Title

Genre

Themes/Tropes

Summary

Excerpt (optional)

Brief summary of main characters (optional)

Draft Status (optional)

Character Intros are optional but they're popular posts to make. You can be as detailed or as vague as you want. Basic character intros include:

Writeblr is a community for writers to make friends and find support; what you get out of writeblr depends on what you give back to it, and that means taking the first step and interacting with others. There's no foolproof way to get the kind of interactions you might want, but here's a couple of ways that worked for me:

Interact with other people's wips: find writeblrs and wips you like and start commenting on them! Even if it's just in the tags, or a reaction image, or a key smash.

Participate in ask events like Storyteller Saturday (StS), Meet and Greet Monday (MGM or MaGM), and Worldbuilding Wednesday (WbW): Send people asks relating to their wip on these days. It's a good way to start interacting with other people and most writeblrs tend to send an ask back. There are also a lot of open questions posted on writeblr that you can reblog and answer.

Use common writeblr tags to get your posts out: #writeblr #writers on tumblr #writing #writers some writeblr networks also have open tags for anyone to used

Join a writing discord: there are a lot of writing discord groups floating around, and the informality of discord makes it a lot easier to get to know other writers. — graphics, edits, and where to make them.

Writeblr is a place specifically for writing, but I can't deny that people are more likely to pay attention to a work if there's pretty graphics to go along with it. For people who might be new to making graphics or edits, here are a few resources to get you started

Canva.com is a great resource for beginners. It's a free browser-based graphic design platform with a lot of free photos and graphics you can mess around with. You need to make an account to use it and some resources are behind a pay wall, but you can do a lot of things with what is free.

Unsplash, Pixabay, and Pexels are some of the best places to get unlicensed, royalty-free photos to use in your graphics as opposed to pinterest.

Tumblr also has a lot of free PSDs you can use to make edits. You'll need some basic photoshop skills and a photoshopping software. Make sure to credit the maker if you use their PSD.

Photopea is a free, broswer-based Photoshop alternative. It has a tendency of crashing or lagging sometimes, but it gets the job done.

GIMP is another Photoshop alternative that you can download to your computer.

The ScriptX Blog Family is an ever growing and changing network of blogs of content experts ranging from a wide variety of topics ranging from psychology, medicine, equestrians, military, autism, ballet, foodies, etc.

@writingwithcolor a wonderful writing/resource blog centered around racial, ethnic, and religious diversity. For those writing characters outside their own race/ethnicity/religion, here is a good place to ask questions and concerns you might not easily be able to answer.

@rainbowwriting a writing/resource blog centered around helping writers include better LGBTQIA+ diversity. [Note: I'm not certain if they're still active, but their archive is still a good place to read up on and get information.]

@wordsnstuff had a ton of writing-related resources from developing plot, characters, researach, drafting, prompts, and even genre-specific resources.

@inky-duchess is not only a fantastic writer but she's also very knowledgable on European history, how monarchies and the aristocracy work, and different writing theories.

@pens-swords-stuff is both a wonderful writer and a good source of writing-related advice!

this is my first time writing for sir billiam (and i ended up writing a lot more than i expected) so i hope you enjoy my interpretation of him!

You lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Or, well, you used to at least. The place was dry, lonely, but the few people who lived there called it home.

Everything was peaceful and quiet, until one day a mysterious stranger rolled into town. He rode on a dark stallion, and immediately made his way towards the bank. You stood at the opposite side of the road, and briefly made eye contact with him. It was difficult to see from that distance, but you swear you saw his formal demeanor falter for just a moment.

Minutes after the man entered, there were screams emanating from the building as he jumped onto his horse’s back, sacks of money slung across his shoulder and a young child clutched in his arm. He was about kick his horse into a full gallop, but his head turned and laid eyes on you once again.

Suddenly, he was right in front of you. His arm stretched out towards you, offering an open hand for you to take.

“Come with me”, he said quickly. His eyes were locked on yours, despite the approaching sounds of the whole village coming to stop him. You weren’t sure what drove you to make the decision you did that day. Maybe it was pure impulse, or possibly even boredom. But you took his hand and allowed him to hoist you into a seated position behind him.

With a swift kick and a yell, the horse was sprinting out of town at an almost impossible speed. You wrapped your arms around the man’s torso to prevent from falling, and watched as your old home faded from view.

The sun was low in the sky when he finally came to a stop. You were in a dense forest, just on the outskirts of a clearing in the trees. Peering though the leaves, you could barely make out the shape of what appeared to be... a mansion?

“Here, let me help you down”, he said, holding his arms up to you from where he stood on the ground.

“... Tell me your name first.”

He almost scoffed at your response, “You’re the one who hopped on a horse with a complete stranger. I should be asking you the same thing.”

“You first then”, you retorted. You weren’t sure why you were being so bold with him, but he seemed amused by it.

“I am Sir Billiam”, he surrendered, “and who might you be my lady?”

“[y/n].”

“[y/n]”, he repeated as if he were tasting the word between his lips, “well, I assume you will be living here for a period of time. Allow me to show you around?”

You placed your hands on Sir Billiam’s shoulders and allowed him grab your waist as he lifted you off the horse’s back and onto the ground. A small group of what appeared to be servants had already come to meet him outside. They gathered up the sacks of money, the horse, and the child and took them inside. You, however, were lead inside by Billiam himself.

Billiam’s mansion was lavish. The largest building you had ever seen. He lead you to one of the large sleeping chambers that would become your bedroom. You were introduced to the all of the staff, and told what time each meal was served.

Billiam also explained he would like you to help out with a few tasks that needed to be done around the place. He offered you the job of primary caregiver for the child from your village, which you accepted.

That was how you spent your days going forward. You and the young boy would wander the halls of the mansion, playing games and helping him with his studies. Billiam would sometimes leave for business, but you and him would always meet for meals throughout the day. It became a comfortable routine, and multiple months had passed in the blink of an eye.

One day, you and Billiam were eating dinner alone together. The child had gone up to bed early. The two of you ate in comfortable silence, until Sir Billiam suddenly spoke up.

“I will be hosting a ball in about a week’s time. Would you like to attend?”

You were a little shocked by his offer. He had hosted a couple parties during your time here, but you had always assumed it wasn’t the place for you and stayed out of the way.

“Won’t you need me to watch the kid?”, you asked.

“I can have someone else watch him for the night”, he responded simply, “plus, I would like for you to be there.”

You carefully pondered over his words. He really wanted you to be there? You couldn’t understand why. You were just a small town girl who’d runaway from her home. What made you fit to attend a ball on the level of opulence as Sir Billiam’s?

“Can I ask you a question before I make my decision?”, you spoke up after a few moments of silence. He gave you a nod, indicating for you to continue.

“Why did you ask me to come with you? That day, in my old town...”

He paused for a second before answering, “I knew I would need someone to look after the child. Who better than someone from his hometown?”

You hummed in acknowledgment of his answer. It was a good enough reason, you supposed.

“But that’s not the only reason”, he continued, standing up from his seat. He strode across the room, coming to a stop and leaning against your side of the table. With gloved hands, he placed a finger on your chin and gently lifted it.

“You can clearly see the environment I live in.... I like to surround myself with beautiful things.”

His finger lingered on your chin before slowly pulling away. Your breath caught in your throat as he turned to leave the room, shoes clacking against the hard dining room floor.

“I already have a dress in mind for you”, he called out with his back turned as he pushed his way through the swinging double doors. They closed behind him with a resounding thud. You sat in silence, trying to collect your thoughts as a servant rushed in to clear away Billiam’s plate.

A week later, you exited your sleeping chambers wearing the fanciest dress you’d ever seen. Billiam presented it to you the moment you agreed, having his seamstresses make any adjustments you desired. It fit you perfectly, with elaborate silver jewelry to match.

The party was already underway when you entered the ballroom. There were a countless number of people gathered in the room, all dressed elaborately. You felt a little out of place, but brushed the feeling aside and scanned the room for Sir Billiam. You found him talking to a small group of people, dressed in his dark and gold formal attire.

When he glanced to the side and caught sight of you, he was halted mid conversation. As he stared at you, time seemed to slow. He raised a hand to excuse himself from the group, and began making long strides towards where you stood.

“Hello, my dear”, he said with a smile, looking down at you and drinking in your appearance. His expression was strong enough to almost make you shy away, but you stood strong and held his gaze despite the blush rising to your cheeks.

He offered up an open palm for you to place your hand upon. When you did, he leaned down and placed a kiss on the back of your palm. He lingered there with closed eyes for what seemed to be an inappropriately long time, but eventually parted and released your hand back to you.

“You look absolutely gorgeous”, he spoke almost reverently. You blushed at the way he spoke about you. He looked gorgeous as well, though you were still too embarrassed to admit that.

“I’ve never been to a party like this before”, you said, unsure of what else to say. He offered out his arm, which you took instinctually.

“You can stay by my side the whole night if you’d like”.

With that, he lead you out into the crowd, rejoining with the group he had been talking to previously. The rest of your night was spent being introduced to people by Billiam, listening in on conversation, and drinking fancy bubbling wine. Once you felt more comfortable, Billiam would occasionally leave the central ballroom with small groups of people at a time. You assumed he was giving select individuals a personal tour of his mansion.

As the party was beginning to wind down, you exited the ballroom. You just needed a moment away from the crowds. The gentle string music was muffled, but still able to heard as you walked down a nearby empty hall way. As you turned the corner, you happen to see Sir Billiam himself standing at the other end. He seemed distracted, but quickly caught sight of you and turned to walk in your direction.

“Hello my dear”, he said breathlessly once he reached you, “is everything alright?”

“Yes, I’m fine. I just wanted a moment to myself.” He nodded in understanding, clasping his hands behind his back as if he didn’t know what to do with them.

“I hope you have enjoyed yourself tonight, [y/n]”, he spoke almost nervously.

“I have”, you reassured him, “I would have left way earlier if I didn’t.”

He gave a hearty chuckle, “I am glad to hear that. Hopefully, you can attend more parties in the future. If you’d like to, of course.”

You smiled at him, “I would like that, I think.”

There was silence between the two of you. Billiam opened and closed his mouth, as if he were about to say something, but started rethinking his words midway though.

“[y/n]... I feel like doing something rather foolish”, he said quietly as he took a subtle step closer to you.

“What is it?”, you asked, taking a small step towards him as well.

Suddenly, the smooth fabric of his glove was against your cheek as he brought your lips up to his. You froze in surprise for just a moment before unconsciously melting into him, allowing him to take the lead as he kissed you. Once you started to kiss back, his other hand was placed against your lower back, drawing you even closer to him.

The two of you eventually parted, both slightly shocked and gasping for breath. He looked into your eyes, and you saw as his expression faltered for just a moment. The hand on your cheek pulled away, leaving a small spot on your face feeling.. wet?

“What is it?”, you asked as he looked at you strangely.

“N-nothing”, he said, turning his head downward to rummage through his pockets. “Must have spilt some wine on my glove”, he muttered as he pulled out a handkerchief and proceeded to gentle dab it against your cheek.

You watched as he quickly shoved the handkerchief back in his pocket, just barely able to make out a small red stain before it disappeared. At the same time, he pulled the soiled glove off with his teeth and placed it within the same pocket.

“Now”, he said, returning his half-lidded gaze back to you, “with that distraction taken care of...”

His lips were back on yours, though this time he used the force of his body to gently press your back against the wall. He kissed you so fiercely it left your head spinning. You gripped the fabric on the back of his coat in an attempt to ground yourself.

“You’re so beautiful, my love”, he spoke adoringly against your skin as his lips traveled down your jaw and onto the graceful line of your neck, “ever since I saw you in that village, I knew I wanted you here with me.”

You tilted your head back against the wall, bringing your hands up to run through his soft pink locks. He nibbled on the skin where your neck curved into your shoulder, causing you to gasp out in a way that sounded a little too sensual. The way he chuckled against your skin sent shivers down your spine.

Eventually his lips left your skin, causing you to pout ever so slightly. Suddenly, he grasped both of your hands in his and got down on one knee in front of you.

“[y/n]... please”, he looked up at you with a pleading expression, “stay with me here. I understand if you only planned to stay here temporarily, but I want you to live here with me. I’ll will provide and care for you to the best of my ability. Anything you could ever want or need, you will have. We will live akin to royalty, and you will be the queen of our domain... and of me.”

You stood in front of him, mouth slightly parted in shock. I was undeniable that you and Billiam had formed some sort of bond during the past few months. Though you weren’t sure what kind of bond it was until now. There was attraction there as well. Billiam was quite handsome, and he clearly found you to be beautiful. Beautiful enough to be picked up and taken away in the middle of a bank robbery.

The day you left your village, you weren’t sure what motivated you to do it. After thinking on it for a long time, you concluded that maybe you were seeking out some much needed excitement in your life.

And something about the way Billiam looked at you was very exciting.

“Yes, Billiam... I will be your queen.”

He was on his feet again, wrapping his arms around you and bringing his lips to yours once again. Neither of you even bothered to say goodbye to any of the guests that night. He continued to kiss you as he led you through the quiet halls of his mansion, escorting you to his bed chambers for the night.
