You’re cranky when you wake up next to papa in the morning. The bed is warm and the room is cold. The little snores of air leaving Copia’s lips are warm and the skin on his shoulders is cold where the blanket ends when you snuggle the rest of his body. His tummy gently presses against you when he breathes, his arms find their way around your waist. You tuck your head into the crook of his neck, praying that he would let you lie there for eternity.
“Mia luna,” Copia hums, his voice thick with sleep but still dripping with affection, “è tempo che tu sia il mio sole.”
He always spoke in Italian when it was easier than English. When he was sick, when he was sleepy, when he was sad. In any condition that made him vulnerable, Copia spoke the language that felt like home to him. He spoke the language he didn’t have to think about translating. He spoke the language his instincts were attuned to, and it made you melt every time.
“Copia, no,” you whimpered, wrapping your legs around his and trying to hide in his soft body, “please don’t make me. I love you.”
A little laugh rumbled in his chest. Copia tucked the blanket beneath both of your heads, his hand tangling itself in your hair to hold onto the back of your head after. “Ti amo,” he whispered back, placing a loving kiss on your temple, “quando prontò parlare di nuovo inglese, ci alzeremo.”
You sighed softly and placed a kiss on his chest, accepting this little victory. He rolled over gently, his weight hovering slightly above you, his cheek rubbing against yours affectionately. You would have never suspected that Papa would be such a morning cuddler, but he was touch starved when you found him, trained to hide from and ignore any urge for physical affection. The first time he accepted your intimacy was a highly emotional experience and remembering it made it all the more difficult to get up when he was showing this side of himself to you. You never wanted the embrace to end, because it took so much nurturing to achieve it.
He kneaded your hips gently, his fingers squeezing your flesh and letting go every now and again. The rhythm felt soothing and for a moment you were convinced (not for the first time) that you had found heaven in Copia’s bedsheets.
After a few more minutes, Copia kissed your shoulder, a gesture you typically adored was now a harbinger. “Good morning, my sunshine,” he cooed, his voice dripping like honey.
“Mmm,” you couldn’t stay mad your sweet lover, “addio, mia ombra.”
Copia grinned and giggled when he picked you up in his arms. He pulled you up into his hips as he sat up, keeping the blanket around you as your legs crossed behind his back. “It’s buongiorno, mia dolce luce.” He corrected before holding your chin on his index finger and giving you a sweet kiss.
“Buongiorno,” you repeated, your cheeks flushed from embarrassment caused by your blunder.
“Hey, don’t worry about it. Nessuna preoccupazione, sì? You’re learning and I’m so proud of you.” Copia beamed up at you, tucking some baby hairs behind your ears.
You leaned into his touch and nodded, letting your eyes flutter shut for a moment. “Grazie, amante.”
“Prego,” he whispers back between more kisses, “ti adoro.” After a few more moments of kissing the sleep away, Copia lifts you up off the bed, his hands gripping your thighs. “Now let me make you some breakfast, mio sole.”
Translations:
(In order)
— my moon, it’s time for you to be my sunshine
— I love you. When I can speak English again, we will get up
— goodbye, my shadow
— good morning, my sweet light
— no worries, yes?
— thank you, lover
— you’re welcome, I adore you

Begin Again
Summary: Walter Marshall is a dedicated homicide detective doing his best to balance his work life with being a single father to a teenage girl. Fiona Sparks is a woman doing her best to take care of everyone and everything around her, except for herself. Neither has had the best luck with relationships, but once they meet, they’re willing to give it another shot, this time with each other. (It’s basically just romantic fluff)
Pairing: Marshall and OFC.
Rating: PG
Warnings: Mentions of death, cancer.
A/N - This is a sequel to ‘All I’ve Ever Known’. I started writing this because I needed an escape for some personal stuff going on and my coping mechanism included giving Marshall all the love that man needed, and imagining him being the softest boyfriend to me, then passing those details on to Fiona (my OFC).
I also made a Spotify playlist for this story, if anyone is interested - Begin Again Playlist

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6, Chapter 7
The last Wednesday in October was a gray, misty, windy day. It was cold, the kind you felt more in your bones than anywhere else, with the sky occasionally spitting out sleet. I spent the entire twenty-minute drive to my job at Waverly Catering clutching the steering wheel so tightly that my hands were cramping by the time I arrived from white-knuckling it the whole way there. Usually, I would get to work early enough to enjoy the silence and finish off my coffee before officially starting my workday. That day, however, I spent the very little extra time I had trying to get my hands to stop hurting, then chugged down my coffee that had cooled dramatically to a gross lukewarm temperature.
Before going in, I checked my phone. I always kept it on silent while I drove. My mom had a tendency to text me, make a dozen spelling mistakes because of auto-correct, then correct them one by one, leaving me with about thirteen separate texts to read. It didn’t use to bother me, I thought it was charming and very distinctly Mom. But when she’d gotten sick at the beginning of the year, every text she sent that I couldn’t read immediately made me panic, worrying that something terrible had happened to her, even when I’d just seen her at home a few minutes before. So for my sanity - and hers - I started putting my phone on silent until I got to work, or wherever else I was going. It was a habit I’d kept even after she’d gone into remission because her cancer may have been gone, but my anxiety over her wasn’t.
That morning when I checked my phone, I saw that I had two texts, but they weren’t from Mom.
Marshall:  Good morning, Fi. I hope that I get to see you today. I’ll be chained to  my desk with paperwork for a while. This is the first time I’ve not dreaded it. You’re my silver lining.
That was cheesy. I’m sorry. I’m bad at this.
And just like that, all of my stress melted away. The weather didn’t matter, my disappointing coffee didn’t matter, even the cramping in my hands didn’t matter. All that did matter was that Walter Marshall thought of me as his silver lining. Yes it was early days, yes we’d barely known each other a month, yes we’d only gone on two dates, but he made me happier than I’d been in a long time. I felt like I’d been holding my breath for two years, starting when my dad had died in a car crash, followed by my boyfriend Ezra breaking up with me, then losing my job as an interior designer, and capping off with my mom’s cancer diagnoses. Then Walter came along and it was like I could finally breathe again.
Me:  Please don’t apologize. You have no idea how much I needed to read that this morning. Feel free to be as  cheesy as you want. And I hope I get to see you today, too, even if it  means you’re chained to your desk.
Marshall:  If I don’t see you for some reason,  can I call you tonight? I miss your  voice and you make me want to get better at this talking thing.
I could feel myself blushing. Even over the phone he made me feel like a teenager with a crush. I had no idea that anyone could make me feel that way as an adult, but he did every time he texted me.
Me:  Of course you can. Even if we do see  each other, you can still call, if you want? Practice makes perfect, and all that.
Marshall: I’d like that. Talk to you soon.
I sat back in my seat with a sigh as I looked out at the sleet falling from the gray sky, spattering my windshield, blurring out the image of the trees in the park across from me blowing and bending in the wind.
It was going to be a good day.

“You look...dare I say it? Happy?” Darcy said as I walked into her office.
I smiled. “You may dare to say it because yes, I am quite happy.”
“And what brings you to such an extreme emotion so early on such a disgusting day?”
I went to her desk and sat in the chair opposite her. “Well, for one, I know that you’re about to do me a big favor that I will forever be grateful for.”
“Fiona Sparks asking for a favor? I’ll mark the day in my calendar,” she joked. “What kind of favor do you need?”
“I need a copy of the peanut butter cookie recipe.”
“For what purpose?”
“See, that’s where the happiness part comes into play and you, being one of my dearest friends, would love to see me happy.”
“I would but I’m unsure how a cookie recipe is going to do that.”
“It’s not for me,” I said, smiling wide. “I met this guy -”
“What? Who?” she asked enthusiastically, her eyes wide with excitement.
“His name is Walter Marshall. He’s our detective who never changes his lunch order.”
“You’re dating one of the homicide detectives? You can feel free to thank me later for giving you that order, by the way. But right now I want details: How long have you been dating and why am I just now finding out about it?”
“We’re not technically dating. I met him a few weeks ago for the first time and we went on two dates last week.”
“You haven’t dated anyone in over two years, and then you go on two dates in one week?”
“Well, the first was just a coffee date. Saturday we tried having a proper one.”
“Tried?” she asked, raising her eyebrow.
“He wanted to take me to dinner, so we went to an Italian place, but before we could order, his daughter called. She was supposed to be at a Halloween party, but some of her friends had lied to her, I guess, and it ended up being a basement party with slightly older boys and she felt uncomfortable, so we went and picked her up. Then we all went for pizza together.”
“He has a daughter, which is some heavy baggage to begin with, but you met her on your second date? That’s a lot, Fiona.”
“I know it seems like it, but it’s really not. She’s a good kid. And he’s an amazing father, which, oddly, just makes him more attractive,” I said. “But that’s not the point. The point is that his daughter was, understandably, a little iffy about me being with him when he picked her up until she found out that I’m the one who brings the cookies. She apparently loves them and I told her that I might be able to get her a copy of the recipe and that seemed to pave the way for her not hating me instantly. And she’s thirteen, so that’s a pretty big deal.”
“I have so many questions right now but I can’t sort them all out so I’m going to be annoying you with them all day, just be prepared for that. All I want to know right now is if you want the recipe laminated or not?”
I let out a relieved breath. “Yes, please, if you don’t mind. And thank you so much, Darcy. You have no idea how much this means to me.”
“I do know. You never ask for anything, even simple things, so the fact that you’re willing to ask me for a favor means this is a pretty big deal,” she said. “He must be a good guy.”
I nodded. “He really is.”

I arrived at the police station that morning a little before eleven. I’d left the shop early, worried the weather might get bad again and didn’t want to be late for my delivery. Thankfully the sleeting had stopped, allowing me to get there a few minutes early. A few minutes that I used up trying to pull my dolly through the parking lot. The lot had been salted, which was good in that at least it wasn’t icy, but the wheels on my dolly didn’t seem to like the brine mixture. They kept locking up on me. Between that and having to fight against the roaring wind, it took me an embarrassingly long time to reach the station door. Before I could push it open, someone opened it from the inside for me. I looked up, expecting to see Officer Bates. He was the security officer that was posted downstairs and always went through the containers full of lunches that I brought to the homicide unit every week. Instead, I saw Marshall.
“Hello,” he said with a smile.
I immediately felt like giggling. The last time I’d seen him, we’d kissed. And seeing him right then, seeing his beautiful, handsome face, I wanted so badly to kiss him again. Instead, I felt myself grow shy as I blushed so fiercely that my cheeks stung with the new heat that rushed to them.
“Hi,” I said. He pulled the door open all the way, then stepped back, allowing me to walk in. My stomach fluttered as I looked back at him. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He closed the door behind me. “May I help you with your cart?”
“No, it’s okay.”
“Would you let me help you take it back to your car when you leave, at least?”
I fought every instinct inside of me that insisted I say no. Darcy was right: I hated asking for even simple things. I never wanted to burden anyone. But since I’d met Marshall, I’d learned that his way of showing interest or affection was to do things for me. But he always asked first, wanting my permission. It challenged me, but in a good way. I didn’t need to always go it alone if I didn’t have to.
“Um, yeah, I’d appreciate that. Thank you,” I said. “The wheels didn’t seem to agree with the salted parking lot. You could probably pull it a lot easier than me.”
Marshall stayed with me as Officer Bates went through the containers I’d brought in. He wasn’t close enough to make anyone passing by question it, but it was close enough that my hand hanging at my side could feel the heat coming from his hand and forearm, that was visible from the blue henley that was pushed up to his elbows in a way that I found incredibly attractive. My fingers itched to seek out his, but I fought it. Keeping them obediently beside me. Once Officer Bates was done and gave me the all clear to take the food up, Walter walked me to the elevator and pressed the button to call it down. Then he held the door back, letting me in first before following me. After the door slid closed, he fell back half a step, putting him right beside me. His hand bumped mine, his fingers snaking through, gently holding mine. I smiled, knowing I wasn’t the only one itching for contact.
I turned without a thought and placed a kiss on his shoulder. Then I paused, a moment of panic rising in me that maybe we weren’t at that level yet. But before I could move or feel too worried, he placed a kiss on the top of my head.
“I keep thinking about Saturday,” he whispered.
“Me, too,” I said. I looked up at him. “It was...pretty amazing.”
He smiled. I could see his sharp canine teeth. They were oddly charming. “Yes, it was.” He laced his fingers with mine more securely, properly holding it. “I know I mentioned calling you tonight, but I hoped that we might have dinner again instead. If you’re not busy?”
“I’m exceptionally not busy tonight.”
“Good.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead before turning his head back to face the elevator door. “I won’t be able to finish all my paperwork today, there’s too much and it keeps multiplying like rabbits, so since I have to do it tomorrow anyway, I’m going to knock off here around five. Could I pick you up after that? Around five-thirty, perhaps?”
I nodded, smiling. “That sounds great.”
The elevator dinged as we reached the homicide unit floor. He gave my hand a couple of gentle squeezes before letting it go as the door slid open. He stepped out, then held the door for me like he had before, letting me pull my cart out. He walked with me almost all the way to the break room before a shorter man with glasses stopped him.
“Lieutenant Marshall, can I speak with you in your office for a moment?” he asked.
“Of course.” Walter touched my shoulder. “Excuse me,” he said to me quietly before leaving for his office.
I continued on and was met by most of the detectives waiting for me. Like usual, they didn’t talk to me much, just thanking me for the food before taking their box and going. I took my time, hoping that by the time that I was done, the man speaking with Walter would be gone before I brought him his lunch. When I was done, I packed up my cart before taking Marshall’s boxed lunch and walked down the hall, finding the door to his office open. I could hear him talking still and wasn’t sure what to do. I’d made a deal with him a few weeks back to always bring his lunch to his office whenever I delivered - the first time was because a uniformed officer looked like he was going to swipe it, after that, it was to thank him for rescuing me from a pushy creep while I was with my ‘friends’. We’d never discussed if I should interrupt while he was working. I chewed my lip, debating what to do for several seconds before deciding to just take a chance and knock on the door frame. The worst case scenario was that I looked like a very dedicated delivery woman making sure that all of my orders reached their proper owners.
“Yep. Come in,” Walter called out in response to my knocking.
I entered his office only far enough to be seen and not a step further. I didn’t know if Marshall wanted people to know about us, so I was prepared to make a quick exit if I needed to. “I have a delivery for Detective Marshall,” I said.
He looked at me and smiled, then waved me in further. “Harper, this is Fiona Sparks. Fiona, this is Commissioner Harper.”
“Hi. It’s nice to meet you, sir,” I said.
“You, too.” He looked at me over the top of his glasses. “You don’t happen to be related to Rodger Sparks, by any chance?”
I felt speechless for a moment. I hadn’t heard anyone other than Mom say Dad’s name in months. Finally, I forced myself to nod. “Yes. He was my dad. How - how did you know?”
“We went to college together. You’re the spitting image of him,” he said. “I was sorry to hear about him passing away. I lost my wife around two years ago as well. A brain aneurysm.” He shook his head. “It doesn’t get any easier.”
“No, it doesn’t,” I agreed.
He looked at me for a moment longer, then back to Marshall, who was standing patiently with his hands clasped behind his back. He looked back at me briefly before taking the folder he was holding and tapped it against Marshall’s shoulder. “You know what? This can wait until tomorrow,” he said. “I’ll bring it by in the morning.” He left Walter and stopped beside me before leaving the office. “I’m very sorry about your father. Rodger was a horrible sport when he lost at cards, but other than that, he was a great guy. And probably the smartest man I ever met.”
I smiled slightly. “He was a horrible sport at cards.”
He smiled back. “The worst.” He gave me a wink. “It was a pleasure seeing you.”
“You, too.”
When he left, he closed the door behind him. I looked at Marshall as he walked towards me. “Did I interrupt something important?” I asked.
“No. He was just asking about a cold case.”
“I wasn’t sure if you wanted me to come in since he was here. Next time, if you’re talking to someone, would you rather I left your lunch in the break room?”
He stopped in front of me. He was so close. He smelled like coffee and Old Spice. I swallowed thickly, trying to meet his gaze as he looked down at me. He shook his head, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “No. I’d still like you to bring it to me, please. If that’s alright?”
“Yeah, of course. I just don’t want to get in the way of your job.”
“You won’t,” he said. “But I’ve let my job get in the way of other things for too long, so maybe it’s time someone got in the way of it for a bit.”
“You have an important job, though. If you were a boat salesman, I might feel a little differently about disrupting your work.”
His smile grew as he tilted his head at me. “A boat salesman?”
“I mean a job where it wouldn’t really matter all that much if you were distracted every once in a while. If someone doesn’t sell a boat, it’s not that big of a deal. But if you don’t solve a murder case...that has very real repercussions. I wouldn’t want to be a reason for something slipping by in a case.”
He put his hand on my cheek, directing my eyes back to his. “That won’t happen,” he said. “I take my job seriously. That’s never been a problem for me. My problem has always been figuring out how to balance it with the rest of my life, which I never could, and I neglected a lot of people because of it. Especially Faye.” He shook his head. “I’m still not good at it. But I had a case back in the winter that...put Faye’s safety in jeopardy, among other things, and it made me realize that I need to put more of an effort in my life outside of this job. Despite how hard that is for me.” He stroked my cheek with his thumb. “You motivate me to slow down a bit. And that’s a good thing.”
I took my free hand and placed it over his, then turned my face slightly and placed a kiss on the inside of his wrist. “I would be happy to slow down with you,” I whispered.
Marshall had a smile that somehow showed in his eyes more than his mouth, and that’s how he was looking at me right then. “I’d like that.”
A knock on the door startled me. I took a step back, his hand falling from my cheek. He then ran it over his face, almost like he was trying to scrub the irritation of being interrupted off it. Then he folded his arms across his chest before calling out for whoever it was to come in.
The door opened and a man stepped up to the doorway. He was wearing plain clothes like Walter, so I assumed he was a detective, too. He all but ignored me as he and Walter spoke. Half of what they said was in a jargon I didn’t understand, so I just stood there, head down, waiting. After a few minutes, the guy left, only halfway closing the door as he did. When Marshall finally turned back to me, I could see that he was frustrated. I knew he wouldn’t admit it, but me being at his work right then was only going to cause more irritation with every interruption we had.
“As much as I hate it, I should probably get back to the shop. We have a big order going out tomorrow, so there’s quite a lot to do today to prepare for it,” I said. “Plus, I have a date with a very handsome detective tonight that I want to get ready for.”
The frustration on his face seemed to melt away as he looked at me with a smirk. “Is it anyone I know?”
“Possibly. He does work in your unit.”
“Is that so?” he asked. I nodded. “Well, if I see him around, I might have to have a talk with him.”
“And what would you say?”
“I’d tell him that he better be good to you because you deserve to be treated well.”
My stomach fluttered. “You can rest assured that he treats me very well. Better than any man ever has.”
“All those other men were idiots.”
I smiled. “Maybe so.”
He shook his head. “Definitely so.” He reached out and took his lunch from my hand, then turned and placed it on a filing cabinet behind him. “Will you let me help you to your car now?”
I nodded. “Yes, please.”
He put on his coat and followed me to the break room. He pulled my dolly for me, moving it like it was as light as a child’s toy. Even when we made it to the parking lot, he didn’t seem to have any issue with the wheels fighting against him. Then he picked it up and placed it in my trunk with ease, despite how I very often fought to get it back in. I thought about telling him that he was welcome to help me anytime he wanted, but I was afraid it wouldn’t come across as a joke and he would feel obligated to actually help.
“Thank you. You made my morning a lot easier,” I said after I closed the trunk. I looked at him. “I guess I’ll see you around five-thirty?”
He nodded. “I’ll call you when I leave here, but yeah, I should be there by then,” he said. “And I promise it’ll only be the two of us and no cheap pizza.”
“To be honest, I quite liked the pizza. It didn’t taste cheap. And I really, truly didn’t mind Faye joining us, but it'll be nice to have dinner with just you tonight,” I said. “But that reminds me - I put a copy of our cookie recipe for Faye in your lunch box.”
He smiled. “Thank you. She’ll be very excited about that.”
“You’re welcome. And let her know if she has any issues with it, she can call or text me.”
The crease between his eyebrows appeared as he looked at me thoughtfully. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I’ve made them enough times over the last year and a half to make every mistake you can with them. If she has a problem, I can probably diagnose it over the phone.”
“You don’t mind her having your number?”
I felt my facial expressions mirroring his, but from confusion. “Of course I don’t mind. As long as you’re okay with it,” I said. “Unless you think your ex-wife would mind? I don’t want to step on her toes or anything.”
He shook his head. “I don’t think Angie would mind for that purpose, and I don’t have a problem with it. But I don’t want you to feel obligated.”
“I don’t but I’ll leave it up to you. If you’d feel more comfortable being the middleman you can always call me for her.” I gave him a big smile. “And I can help you practice the whole talking thing. Then it’s a two birds with one stone kind of deal.”
He smiled back, nodding his head. “And if she doesn’t need help?”
“You can still call.” I shrugged. “As far as I’m concerned, you don’t have to have a reason for calling. If I’m not at work, I’m usually pretty free. I may be cooking, or watching ‘The Golden Girls’ with Mom, but that’s about it,” I said. “I’m afraid you’re courting quite a socially boring person.”
He laughed. “I’m not sure if you’ve caught on, but I’m not exactly a sociable person, either,” he said. “So perhaps we make a good fit for each other.”
“Perhaps so,” I agreed. “We can be selectively social together.”
“Sounds good to me.”
I let out a sigh and watched my breath turn to steam in front of me. “I better let you get back to your paperwork and I need to go help Darcy at the store. We have over fifty loaves of bread to bake before the end of the day, so depending on when I get home, you may have to deal with your date smelling like freshly baked bread.”
He squinted slightly. “I’m not really opposed to that,” he joked with a smile that showed off the sharp ends of his canine teeth.
I laughed. “Good to know.”
He gave me a short hug, kissing my cheek as he pulled back. “I’ll see you this evening.”
“I’m looking forward to it.

If The World Was Ending 3/?
If The World Was Ending Chapter Three: California Dreamin’
Read on AO3.
- ~ - ~ - ~ - ~
“All the leaves are brown And the sky is grey I've been for a walk On a winter's day I'd be safe and warm If I was in L.A. California dreamin' On such a winter's day
Stopped into a church I passed along the way Well, I got down on my knees And I pretend to pray You know the preacher liked the cold He knows I’m gonna stay California Dreamin’...”
~California Dreamin’ - Barry McGuire
- ~ - ~ - ~ - ~
Tony sprang to his feet as he immediately rushed toward the suit that opened up for him. The skylight he’d had installed after invasion slid open and he blasted into the sky. “J, deploy the Iron Legion now!” As he did, he remembered Evan and he pulled up where the tsunami had hit and felt cold terror grip him as he saw that the Santa Monica pier had been taken out. “Shit! JARVIS, what’s my ETA?”
The HUD popped up a calculation. “At the speed you’re going, your estimated time of arrival should be three hours.”
That was unacceptable. He put more power into the thrusters as he could, and heard the BOOM as he broke the sound barrier somewhere over Lake Eerie. “At this speed ETA is two hours,” JARVIS intoned without having to be asked.
“What about the Iron Legion?” Tony was so relieved now that he hadn’t destroyed the rest of his suits after the Battle of Norco.
“ETA four minutes,” JARVIS told him. That was a much better time since when it came to natural disasters, especially involving large amounts of water, every minute, every second counted. Tony set his suit to auto-pilot for the remainder of the flight, making sure to call the FAA. He didn’t want any aircraft to accidentally stray into his path, and he’d be a disaster on top of a disaster.
“Give me eyes as soon as they reach the affected areas. Also, patch me into the channel the first responders use.” A few minutes later his HUD was filled with live feed from the suits, and he was rendered speechless at what he saw. Tony wished he could speed up past Mach 5 without the suit falling apart.
He decided to concentrate on what he could do (and not on a certain someone), and pulled up the stats on the suits that were functional. Out of the 35 suits he’d made between the invasion of Manhattan and the Mandarin Incident, there were nine viable suits. It was the Mark 20: Python, Mark 25: Striker/Thumper, Mark 28: Jack, Mark 33: Silver Centurion, Mark 34: Southpaw, Mark 36: Peacemaker, Mark 37: Hammerhead, Mark 38: Igor, and Mark 41: Bones.
Tony wished the Mark 35 would have survived, since the Red Snapper was made to save people during natural disasters; for example, rescuing victims trapped during an earthquake. He’d gotten the idea after the 7.1 earthquake that had hit LA, and now a year and a half later they’re hit with a tsunami. Unfortunately, Killian had destroyed it during the Battle of Norco.
Well, Southpaw would have to do, even if Red Snapper would have been better with its extendable and retractable claws. At least Hammerhead would come in handy, since it could remain submerged for long periods of time.
“This is Iron Man. I have multiple suits flying over the city and ready to help out. Just point me in the right direction and I’ll help where I can.” Almost immediately he was flooded with calls of trapped civilians, several inside and on top of their houses. He told JARVIS to concentrate on the ones trapped inside their houses, since there was another wave and the water was rising alarmingly fast. There were some people still trapped in their vehicles and unfortunately they couldn’t get to everyone on time.
He directed the suits where to go that they’d be the most useful. Tony heard dispatch call Swift Water Command, calling in a Code Three. Tony heard the commander say they were delayed and luckily J had a suit in the area. It was Bones and he saw the armor detach into several pieces and break through two roof vents to save a man trapped in the attic of his flooding house. As he watched the suits save people; Hammerhead dove for a little girl that had fallen into the water from off the roof of her house when she slipped, and Igor large enough that it could fly with several people hanging from it to take them to higher ground, he was even more glad he hadn’t destroyed the suits.
Sure he loved Pepper and would do anything for her, but with every life he saved, he remembered why he’d become Iron Man in the first place. He’d remembered those soldiers he’d laughed and joked with before they’d been gunned down, with his own weapons no less, and knew he’d made the right choice to not quit this. And maybe Pepper would come around and maybe she wouldn’t, but he refused to be guilted for doing something that saved people’s lives; even if at the times he was so sick and tired, and so inured he could barely move or breathe without something hurting.
It was more important to be able to help people, made him feel like he was alive for a reason. He’d told her three years ago, that he shouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for a reason, and this was that reason. It wasn’t fighting Killian and aliens, but helping and protecting the people from those threats.
It was almost two hours later, after remotely piloting the other suits, that he was physically flying over the city. The water still hadn’t receded, and three more waves had hit, and hopefully that would be the end of it but he doubted it. Tony wanted to call Evan and make sure he was alright, but cell phone service was wonky at the moment. Besides, he didn’t want to tie up the line when there were others that needed actual help. Evan’s apartment was out of the flood zone, so he was sure he was fine. He was weirdly glad he had a serious blood clot condition that had him confined to his home, and not out there with the rest of the first responders. Tony wouldn’t be able to concentrate if he knew Evan was in danger.
He decided not to unpack all of that right now and quickly dismissed the rest of the live feeds of the Iron Legion, letting JARVIS take over. Although now that he’d seen some of what was required for something of this magnitude, he knew he needed to remake Red Snapper and more Iron Legion, probably a special force that could be used for natural disasters. While Southpaw was for natural disasters as well, it was mostly to protect the user from damage from natural disasters. He needed more armors that had emergency features, like medical features such as the ability to be used as a defibrillator or even carry oxygen or breathing equipment for CPR.
Tony headed toward the pier, since flooding was still extensive, and he heard calls earlier of first responders being needed at the Santa Monica Pier. As he neared where the worst of the flooding was, he saw that the whole pier was underwater. There saw also an actual Ferris wheel that was still standing after all three waves, but it wouldn’t hold for much longer.
As he neared, he saw that the wave was starting to recede, going in the other direction. He heard the ones at the Ferris wheel call the coast guard. ‘Coast Guard, Coast Guard. This is Captain Nash LAFD. We need a miracle at the pier. We need one quick.’ As the helicopter flew in, the Ferris wheel started to tip, and he blasted forward.
“Incoming, Captain Nash!” he called over the speaker on his suit, arriving in time to catch the Ferris wheel as it almost toppled. Tony saw that most of the people had been evacuated except for the one who was being airlifted and a woman with curly hair, as well as two first responders, both firefighters by the looks of it.
“Iron Man!” he heard someone call in surprise.
“Yes, I’ll sign autographs later,” he joked, “but right now this thing is coming down and I might not be able to hold it for long.” The two firefighters, one Hispanic man and another Caucasian woman had just finished lowering the woman and now looked at each other, unclipped from their lines and jumped, landing feet first in the water. “Ten out of ten!” Tony called, “now let’s go go go!” They scrambled onto the speed boats as Tony grunted as the debris hit it hard and it started to put a strain on the armor. When he saw they were clear, he let it drop as he flew out of the way barely in time from getting knocked down by it.
He met them at the entrance of the pier by the sign that read ‘•Yacht Harbor• SPORT FISHING •BOATING Cafes’, the water still high enough that it reach most of their calves. If he’d been in any armor before the Mark 8, he’d have thought twice before landing in the water. However the Mark 43 was a better version of all the armors that had come before. He wanted to see if anyone needed help.
“Iron Man,” he heard someone call. Tony turned to see a stern looking man in his early fifties with a helmet on his head and the red vest that declared him a fire captain. This must be Captain Nash. He was wet and obviously tired, but there was still a certain amount of authority to the set of his shoulders. He had the kind of presence Howard had given off, but tempered with something softer Tony couldn’t identify.
“That’s me,” he said as he lifted up the face plate but refrained from stepping out of the suit. He didn’t want to get his shoes wet, and besides, this man appeared to be at good six feet and even if it was only two or three inches, he hated feeling short. Especially when it was from a man that reminded him if even just a tiny bit of Howard. “But just Tony, please. What can I do for you, Captain?”
Nash extended his hand, and Tony took it without hesitation. He had more respect for first responders than any bureaucratic asshole that wanted to shake his hand and play nice for the cameras. “Bobby Nash of the 118. Thank you for the assist,” giving his gauntlet covered hand a firm shake. Tony liked the sincerity in his voice.
“It was no problem, Cap. I didn’t really do much,” he assured. The man’s lips quirked a bit, whether in annoyance or amusement, it was hard to tell. Bobby Nash had one of those faces that gave almost nothing away. “Do you need anymore assistance?”
The woman opened her mouth but Bobby held a hand to stop her. The woman’s nametag, which was surprisingly still on, read Bosko, and the man had Diaz on his. Tony wondered why that sounded familiar. “We have a missing member of Firehouse 136, Captain Ronnie Cooper. There’s also a lot of people trapped and missing. I had thought I heard that Iron Man was helping out, and it’s nice to see it’s true.”
“Sure am, wherever it’s needed.” He’d already been able to help a lot of people and hoped to continue as long as his body and the power supply on his armors allowed. “I’ll keep an eye out for Captain Cooper, and if you need help with anything, give me a holler. There are several other suits flying over the city. So, even if I’m not nearby, my co-pilot JARVIS will be able to assist you if I can’t.”
He gave the man a salute that wasn’t meant to be at all mocking, and then the faceplate snapped shut before he blasted into the air. Tony wanted to make sure there weren’t any locations that had been damaged that could potentially become deadly. The last thing he needed was for the water to catch on fire if there was any gas spillage, and he expected it’d be a terrifying sight.
“J, try Evan’s phone,” he said. “Also, bring up satellite images of Hawaii. I don’t want to be blindsided in case they were hit as well.”
“Bringing up images right now, sir. Also, I’m getting no response from Mr. Buckley’s phone.” This made Tony worry, since Evan always answered his phone (even when he called him an old man for calling and not texting). He couldn’t do anything though, since he was needed right where he was. Tony couldn’t just rush to Evan’s apartment, there was no flooding in the area, and there were people in need of help. So, he reluctantly continued on.
“You better be safe, Evan,” he muttered.-

Army Medic - Eric Dier
Part Nine
YN was sat in the garden in the little allotment garden Eric made a few months back during the summer, she had found herself coming out here every morning and started it being in her daily routine. She wanted to keep to schedule or routine as she was not in the army anymore she didn’t want to feel lost.
Every morning she was waking up alone in bed, usually feeling sick due to the back kicking her insides, she would get dressed as if she had somewhere to be but she never did. She would sit on the sofa and watch trash TV while she ate her breakfast, or the sorry excuse of a breakfast. Try to not throw up and then go in the garden and sort it out then usually have a cry about what her life has become and then inside when Eric’s mum and her  mum comes round and gushes over her for a few hours before Eric comes home and just nonstops talking about his day.
She lets out a small sigh as there was a knock on the door, Eric who was home as he had a home game the next day, he walks to do the door and instantly hugs the door so she couldn't see who it was and they couldn't see her.
‘Is she in?’ Michael asked softly, giving the footballer a small look which he seemed to understand and got when he saw the bouquet of flowers he had in his hands.
‘Was it?’  he whispered.
He nods. ‘Curtis.. Sniper to the head, and Henry too’ he mutters.
Eric lets out a frustrated sigh and shakes his head. ‘The funerals are this week... I know she isn't apart of the team anymore but a family is always a family’ the soldier says.
Eric shakes his head and tells him that he doesn't want to tell her, mainly because he knows this wouldn't be good for her or the baby.
He takes the flowers and thanks him before walking back inside.
‘Who was that?’ she asks as she was now in the hallway.
‘No one’ he tries to drop the conversation he didn't want to be having. She raises her brows at him and then asks who gave the flowers which he instantly said they were left on the doorstep. He walks past him and sorts the flowers out which YN defiantly found weird and noticed that he was acting strange.
A few days went by and YN was beyond bored. She had clocked out of the conversation and somewhat come numb to having a hand on her as she is used to it nowadays. It was like people forget she is always a person and is more than just a baby bump.
Her phone beeped which she instantly picked up from the table and instantly looked at Eric, she quickly excused herself and went outside and got followed by the dogs.
‘Quasi? You are back?’ she says as soon as she answers the phone.
‘I am.. Quick pit stop and then back out there’ he says.
Eric was watching her, he narrowed his eyes as he saw her looking at him through the window, she then fell to her knees as she sobbed. He instantly raced to her, her wrapped his arms around her as she swayed side to side as she sobbed, she pulled away and started to hit his chest as he tried to sooth her.
‘He is dead and you weren't going to tell me?’ she cried. ’You fucking asshole!’
Her mum joined her and hugged her as he climbed back to his feet. ‘I didn't tell you because-’
YN cut him off. ‘Why because this is bad timing for you? Because you knew how much he meant to me?’
‘Because I didn't want to lose you to this shit again’
She raised her brows at him. ‘This shit?’ she questioned. ‘This shit is my whole fucking life. They are my family!’ she sobbed. ‘I loved him’ she cried as her mum hugged.
….
Eric walks alone in the cemetery, enjoying the coldness and quietness, he was in his deep thoughts about life, he found YN sat on a bench she was holding onto one of Curtis’ caps. Since she found out about his death she has gone into auto pilot mode and just wanted to be with his family and found comfort with Imogen and Quasi. She had made an emotional speech, which Eric had to step in and finish the speech. He felt her tense up when he touched her and she walked off as he finished the emotional speech. Him reading her writing on the crisp white paper, he instantly realised what she was feeling, and how lost she was without her army family.
He sat down beside her and they stayed quiet, she gently leaned into him and rested her head on his shoulder.
‘I’m sorry for being a dick’ he whispered as he kissed her forehead. ‘I’m here for you’ he says softly.
A small smile appeared on her face and she looks into his eyes.
‘Tell me about him... Not the one that everyone is talking about now that he has gone, but the real Curtis, what was he like?’
‘Curtis, he was a little shit, but he was always had his friends backs, he would do anything for his family’ she says softly. ‘He took me under his wing and he was the reason why I was called smudge’ she mutters. Her bottom lip quivers. ‘He was one of the best soldiers to fight for his country, and in some twisted way he would of loved this celebration of his life’
Eric stayed quiet as he just listened. ‘We all said that you wouldn't want to see him in a dark alley, he was this hench guy that would even frighten Frankenstein’s monster, but when you got to know him, he was just the sweetest guy in the world’
She bursts into tears as Eric holds her softly. ‘I know that we signed up for this but I never thought he’d be the one to die, I always thought he would just always find his way back, he had loads of hit misses’
Eric saw Imogen first and nodded for her to join them, her hand instantly intertwined with hers. She was with him and had told her that he was talking to her as if she was Yn. Imogen gave her the little voice note she made for her, she cried at every little joke he made and detail he went into, and told her that she could be anything she wanted and don't stay in one little bubble. As she listened to him she really wanted to be with him, she should of been there and she hated herself a little more that she wasn't there for him. Imogen was in a flood of tears which Yn instantly pulled away from Eric and looked after the medic and tried to calm her down and told her that this wasn't her fault.
….
A month went by and Yn was now 8 months, the nursery was fully done, and Yn found herself sat in the cosy room on the floor as she looked at a photo of her and Badger and Animal, the photo was of her sat on Animal’s knee with the Badger stood behind them and they were pulling funny faces at each other, the photo was taking in the mid first tour.
‘I think it might be me...’ she whispered as Dier’s dad walked in.
He handed her a coffee before taking the photo from her.
‘This wasn't your fault, not Raccoon’ he mutters, making her giggle.
‘Badger’ they both say in unison.
He pulls her into his arms. ‘None of this was your fault’
‘If I didn't get pregnant’ she whispered.
He shakes his head as the two dogs appear by her side and comforts her.
‘This isn't me’ she cried. ‘I shouldn't of got bloody pregnant and I should of been with him’ she cried harder.
As Eric arrived home he found Yn curled up in the nursery which she had destroyed in rage.

“What’s the point of picking up that junk?” MacCready complained as Maya examined the charred remains of a file at the reception desk.
He’d been like this all morning and her patience was wearing thin.
He didn’t want her to investigate the distress signal they picked up.
He didn’t care that he woke up every creature from HQ to Med-Tek in some vain attempt to shoot away his nerves.
He didn’t even care about scavenging for caps or valuables along the way - the final confirmation to Maya that he was not as okay as he claimed. In the many weeks they’d been travelling together, she’d never seen the mercenary this focused, or this scared.
“I’m just trying to find any more information on this ‘Prevent’ so Curie can study it.  It was a research drug, so anything we can find out about it will be good to know before we give it to Duncan, right?” Maya retorted, a little sharper than she’d intended, before placing the file back on the desk. It was only a sign-in register but her point remained valid all the same.
“Ah Monsieur MacCready, you are exhibiting symptoms of extreme agitation and anxiety. May I suggest the administration of a minute dosage of Med-X to assist you in this mission?” Curie asked eagerly as she floated by.
By the time the chem had been dispensed - MacCready had already angrily barged past them into the offices at the back of the building. Shots and curses could be heard bouncing off the walls in the distance and Maya couldn’t help but wince as she readied her gun.
“We’d better go and make sure he doesn’t get torn apart in there. I’m sorry he’s being so...difficult, right now. He’s just worried about his son.”
Curie nodded in acknowledgement and followed behind her companion. She understood the logic and reasoning of a father being concerned over the welfare of a sick child. She understood the physical signs of worry and the effect it had on a human’s psyche. But she did not know what it felt like. She did not understand why her attempt to relieve him of this problem was not what he desired. Logically, it made no sense. So much of human behaviour made no logical sense to Curie. Over two centuries of studying them and she still did not understand what it meant to be a human. Something that bothered her more than ever now she was around so many different human beings every day.
Tumblr media
The infestation of ferals guided them from the executive’s terminal on the third floor, all the way down the research centre’s subterranean levels where the elusive cure was apparently stored.
MacCready barely spoke a word to Maya unless it was encouraging her to hurry up when she, Curie and Dogmeat lagged behind him on the way to the laboratory. Curie,  herself, was quieter than usual too and it made the atmosphere particularly more sombre - An impressive feat, especially when taking into consideration that the entire building had spent the last two centuries as the eternal resting place of Med-Tek’s more unfortunate employees; the poor souls who had been trapped here when the bombs fell had succumbed to the radiation instead of being granted the sweet release of death.
There were many fates worse than death in this world, but turning into a feral ghoul was one that Maya feared most.
Tumblr media
The last of the frustrated screams echoed out from the lab by the time Maya and Curie had caught up, leaving only the frustrated heavy breathing and cursing of their companion as he attempted to search the debris for his promised goal. MacCready was the most impressive shot she’d ever witnessed anyway, but today the anticipation made him especially efficient, something she understood probably too well in her own search to save her son. It was making him reckless too.
In fact, MacCready had been so wrapped up in clearing out the ferals with almost vindictive haste, he’d completely overlooked the bright, red, auto-injecting syringe that lay in plain view on the abandoned workstation.
“Mademoiselle! Is that the item we are looking for? The cure for Monsieur MacCready’s child?” Curie had noticed the chem at almost the exact same moment Maya did.
“I think so, Curie. Can you take a look at it for me to be sure?” Maya replied, picking it up and examining it closely.
Tumblr media
From the opposite corner of the lab, half way through ripping a drawer open, MacCready heard the robot’s announcement and had started to make his way back over to them.
When he saw that Maya did indeed have the injector in her hand - it was the first time she’d seen those big blue eyes light up all day.
“We did it… holy crap, we actually did it! We just gave Duncan a fighting chance to live.” He exclaimed as he took the cure from Maya’s hands and pocketed it. Even then, he didn’t move even an inch away from her, a detail that Maya couldn’t help but register despite not wanting to. Before she could finish scolding herself for letting herself think such ridiculous things when it came to a married man - MacCready placed a trembling hand on her arm.
“I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to pay you back for this… I owe you big time.”
Tumblr media
Maya shook her head incredulously in an attempt to avoid his piercing gaze.
“Mac...This is a friendship, not a business contract. All I care about is curing your son.”
MacCready refused to let her look away. With one hand he cupped her cheek and forced her face back him, with the other he took her hand.
The surprise of his touch forced her to turn and face him, making the lack of space between them that much more highlighted. Immediately she felt her ivory cheeks flush and her heart started to race.
“I know you do.” He sighed with a dopey smile and moved his head in closer, so close that the impact of his breath sent shivers down her spine. “I'm just used to people taking rather than giving. Maybe one day I'll realize that you're different.” Before she could answer, he’d bridged what little remained of the gap between them and connected their lips.
Tumblr media
It was clumsy and almost forceful in his haste. Not bad… just different than what she was used to.
Maya didn’t pull away, too stunned that he’d finally broke the tension between them and kissed her to really respond at first. So many questions flooded her mind and none she could bring herself to ask, the most prominent one wouldn’t stay quiet in her mind - “What about your wife?” The one he’d mentioned back in HQ. She was about to push him off and actually ask it when he did the job for her. Just as abrupt and unexpected as the kiss had started, MacCready pulled away and ended it without a word. Before any awkwardness could form, Dogmeat and Curie returned back to them after sweeping the laboratory for anything useful.
“Madame, we discovered a small storage unit of medical supplies and I took the initiative to annex anything useful for our mission. May I suggest we leave this place if we have found what we are looking for? My systems are detecting high levels of radiation in these laboratories. Caution is strongly recommended.”
“Don’t worry about it, Curie, we can go now. The last step is to get the Cure to Daisy in Goodneighbor.” Mac smiled at Maya and started to make his way to the elevator.. “With her caravan contacts, she's the only one I trust to get this to Duncan on time.” He glanced back at his slightly stupefied companion and cocked his head to encourage her to follow. “This is the last favor I'm going to ask, I promise. Let’s go.”
“G-Goodneighbor? Right. Sure! Let’s go!” Maya nodded confidently and composed herself before following in his wake.
Even though her heart was still racing as she awkwardly took her place next to him in the elevator, one thing was perfectly clear by the time they got back to the surface and left the building: He did not want to talk about what had happened between them.
Though she was still confused and shocked from the last few hours with him, she kept her mouth shut and acted as if nothing had happened as they made their way to Goodneighbor. It was much easier for both of them right now if they silently accepted that the kiss had been a mistake and had only occurred because they had got caught up in the moment.

Birds of a feather watch horror movies together
Summary: It’s Halloween in Gotham and the Misfit Robins have to stick together.
AO3
-------------------------------------------------------------------
One moment, she totally had the upper hand in the fight between Spoiler and a handful of gang members who weren’t much older that she was. The next, she was on the ground on her hands and knees, choking and gasping for breath as the tell-tale green cloud spread through the empty lot in the Narrows.
The muscles around her eyes and in her cheeks started to twitch, and she desperately reached into her belt for the auto-injector pen full of anti-toxin. The pouch with the pen was in the back by her right hip, but her movements were hampered by shaking hands and an injured shoulder, preventing her from reaching behind her.
When the laughter began to painfully contract her abdominal muscles, the tears came, too, and she squeezed her eyes shut and tried to smother it. She would not go down this way. There was no way in hell her story would end with her dying of Joker toxin on Halloween, alone in the shadows of a desolate high-rise apartment building. She hadn’t even had the chance to say anything quippy or clever before her demise.
Not that there was anyone around to hear it, of course. But whatever.
With one last surge of adrenaline, she wrenched her injured arm behind her and into the pouch, fingers clasping around the pen. A laugh, mixed with her painful cry, burst from her chest and echoed into the night with a sickening wheeze. Before the laughter made it too hard for her to think straight, she twisted the cap off the end and jammed it into her upper thigh. Thankfully, the needle was long enough to penetrate the tough fabric of her uniform and her thumb pushed the button down.
She collapsed to the ground, curling into a ball. The anti-toxin burned like acid as it spread through her veins. But within about forty-five seconds, the laughter died down into chuckles, then into giggles before wilting into sobs deep within her chest as it was neutralized. Another few minutes passed before the muscles in her face relaxed, and she ran her fingers over her aching cheeks.
Breathing was still a struggle, though she knew that would be the last to get back to normal because it was the first thing affected by the gas. But she was already light-headed from the laughter and wheezing, and drawing in a steady enough breath was next to impossible. In a last-ditch effort to speed up the process, she ripped her hood and mask away from her face, rolling onto her back. Her eyes closed as the cool night air touched her face and she waited for her airway to open fully again.
After waiting for what felt like much too long, she rolled over and climbed to her knees. She rubbed a hand over her chest and tried not to panic; a panic attack right now would be seriously bad news. Her lungs were irritated enough from the gas and the cold air hadn’t helped at all, only making it more difficult to breathe. So despite every fiber of her being hating her for what she was about to do, she reached up and tapped the ear piece that was still somehow in her ear.
“Spoiler?”
Stephanie closed her eyes in relief upon hearing Oracle’s filtered voice.
“I-“
Her upper body curled in on itself as she coughed almost violently enough to be sick.
“I’m tracking your location, Spoiler. I’m sending the closest person your way. ETA three minutes.”
She coughed again and her vision darkened at the edges, sending her to down to her forearms on the asphalt. There wasn’t enough time between coughing fits for her to breathe and she knew three minutes would be too late.
A second filtered voice entered the conversation, immediately silencing the flurry of panicked voices.
“Oracle, belay that request. I’m thirty seconds out.”
As everything went dark and she collapsed into a heap, the voice spoke again but without the distortion of the voice filter.
“Hang on, Blondie. I’m almost there.”
-----------------------------------------------
The bed she woke up in was insanely comfortable and that’s how she knew it wasn’t hers.
Hers was alright, of course- but it was a little too soft, a bit too lumpy.
But the bed she was in was the perfect combination of soft and supportive, with the added bonus of having super soft sheets.
She opened her eyes and the room was dark, but there was enough light from the streetlamp outside the window for her to get a good look around. The room was large, but cozy. A few nice pieces of furniture were spread throughout- a dresser near the door, two matching nightstands and a large chest at the end of the bed.
There was a small lamp on each of the nightstands and she leaned to the one closest to her. She shut her eyes to prepare herself for a too-bright bulb, but was surprised when the soft glow barely went past the edge of the nightstand. There was a small machine on the table, and a clear tube going from the machine down to the floor before it traveled back up the bed to her face. She touched her fingers to her cheek and felt the cannula under her nose.
A portable oxygen concentrator.
The encounter with Joker toxin.
Jason came and got her.
Wait.
This was Jason’s place?
She crawled to the other side of the bed and turned on the other lamp. With the added light, she took another look around the room and could see bits of Jason all around her. The headboard behind her was chock full of books, both hard-bound and paperback. She ran her fingers along the spines and read the titles. He had a great mix of the classics, science-fiction, and espionage thrillers, with some true-crime thrown in for good measure. There was another bookcase under the window and from what she could tell, it was full of textbooks. Organic chemistry, forensic psychology, microbiology, and criminal psychology, among others.
The décor was simple, but tasteful. The sheets were grey while the duvet was a deep shade of navy, and the extra blanket at the foot of the bed was a shade of red not unlike the color of his helmet. That thought made her laugh, which made her chest hurt and she coughed. It felt nothing like earlier, thank god, but it was loud enough it got someone’s attention.
Jason knocked quietly on the door, more to announce his presence than to ask for permission to enter, and he opened it, the concern on his face easy to see even in the semi-darkness.
“You okay?”
Stephanie nodded and cleared her throat, wincing as she did.
“I think so. I didn’t actually cough up a lung, so that’s a plus. Right?”
He nodded and approached the bed, stopping by the end and crossing his arms, still watching her.
“Any trouble breathing or swallowing?”
She shook her head and brought her knees up.
“Any hallucinations, fits of laughter or nausea?”
A chill rushed down her spine and she clutched a pillow to her chest, remembering the sound of her laughter and how awful it was. Her arms were covered with goosebumps and she shook her head again.
“No.”
He sat down on the end of the bed, still watching her closely. Gone was the Red Hood outfit- he was wearing charcoal-gray sweats and a dark green Henley, and his wet hair was beginning to curl as it dried. She must have slept longer than she thought, if he’d already come back from patrol and showered. But before he could ask her anything else about what happened earlier, she beat him to it.
“So this is your place, huh?”
Jason nodded and glanced around.
“It’s nice.”
She couldn’t help but notice how much he relaxed at her comment.
“Thanks.”
“Where are we?”
He looked down at this hands, then out the window, avoiding her face.
“Just north of the Knights stadium, about a mile from where I found you.”
She recognized the neighborhood and waited long enough to catch Jason’s gaze to give him a knowing smile. He’d picked a place that was centrally located between Leslie’s clinic, Amusement Mile, and the Narrows- the areas of the city that didn’t ever seem to have enough of a police presence despite the crime rates. Red Hood was frequently seen patrolling in those neighborhoods, more so than the “nicer” parts of the city.
In other words, right smack in the middle of where he was needed most.
“I didn’t realize they had such nice places in Otisburg,” she said hoarsely, wincing at the soreness in her throat.
He shrugged.
“It’s an up and coming neighborhood. At least that’s what they told me when I bought the place.”
Her eyes widened and she sat forward, chucking the pillow at him.
“No way! The apartment, or the building?”
He sighed and pretended to be insulted, throwing the pillow back at her. She dodged it and it hit the headboard with a quiet plop.
“Bruce is the one who buys entire buildings. I only wanted a place where I could have some peace and quiet.”
She opened her mouth to say something, but he held up a hand.
“Promise me you won’t breathe a word of this to anyone. No one knows this place exists, except you and Roy.”
“Cross my heart.”
Seemingly content with her answer, they sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes until the pain in her chest was too much to ignore any longer. She removed the cannula.
“You have any Tylenol or something? It hurts just to breathe.”
Jason climbed off the bed, his bare feet hitting the floor with barely a sound, and he held out a hand to her.
“I’ve got something better. Last time I got dosed, Leslie gave me some medication you take in a nebulizer. Helps with the pain and the inflammation.”
She grabbed his hand and let him pull her out of bed, still feeling a little woozy. He put a gentle hand against the middle of her back as they walked down the hallway. Something smelled absolutely heavenly as they got closer to the kitchen and there was a small pot on the stove.
“Go find a spot on the couch,” Jason said over his shoulder. “I’ll get the medication ready and bring you something to eat.”
“What’d you make?”
“Chicken rice soup.”
Jason’s living room was just as cozy as his bedroom. There was a couch with a chaise lounge on one side and on ottoman in front of the other section, both of which were covered in a soft tan fabric. He’d clearly been sitting on the lounge part because he there was a pillow, blanket and a tablet there, so she left that spot alone and nudged the ottoman closer so she could reach it. The coughing spell began as she sat down.
“Here,” he said, appearing behind her and handing her a small plastic device with a mask on it attached to a battery pack. “Flip that switch and hold it to your face. Breathe through your nose.”
She watched as a mist fogged up the mask before doing as instructed. Her eyes closed as it began to work, and she felt his presence behind her. She tilted her head back and glanced up at him, smiling in relief. He smiled affectionately in return, squeezing her shoulder as he leaned on the back of the couch.
“The anti-toxin stops the effects of the gas, but it still damages the lining of your lungs. Give it a week or two, and you should be fine.”
Steph nodded and slouched until she was comfortably settled in. A blanket appeared to her right and she grabbed it, nearly disappearing under it apart from her head and the hand holding the nebulizer. When the machine turned itself off, Jason returned with two mugs of soup, nodding to the couch next to her. She put the device down and accepted the mug, though she gave him a weird look.
“Too easy to spill if it’s in a bowl.”
He lowered himself onto the couch, being careful not to spill anything, and pulled his own blanket around him. They both ate in silence, watching a maniac in a hockey mask chase after the occupants of a summer camp. She finished her soup and started to sit up when Jason held out his hand. She bit her lip to stifle her protest, already feeling like she was imposing. Being waited on was something she’d never get used to.
“You don’t have to-“
“Steph, it’s fine. I don’t mind.”
She handed him the mug and he disappeared once more before gracefully leaping over the back of the couch and settling into his spot. She felt herself smile tiredly when he turned and grinned at her.
They lapsed into another easy silence. And as much as she enjoyed cheesy horror movies, she just couldn’t focus enough to watch it. Her thoughts were stuck on what happened earlier and how scared she’d been.
Jason was staring at the TV, but his attention was focused on Stephanie. When it was clear she was lost in her head, he adjusted the volume and turned to look at her.
“Wanna talk about it?”
His tone was casual, despite the seriousness of the question, and she knew he’d actually listen if she wanted to talk. But after everything that happened, she wanted to shove into the deep recesses of her brain for the night and try to forget about it. She wasn’t looking forward to the nightmares she’d likely have later.
“Not really, no.”
He nodded and looked back at the screen, not saying a word.
A few minutes later the movie went to commercial and Stephanie turned to him, still hiding under the blanket.
“Sorry I ruined your night,” she said softly. “But I’m glad you were there to save me.”
He propped himself up on an elbow and stared at her, shaking his head and smiling ruefully.
“First of all, you didn’t need saving. You fought it long enough to give yourself the injection, which is something several of us have failed to do. You did everything right. And two,” he said, waiting until she looked at him to continue. When she did, his tone softened, as did his eyes. “You haven’t ruined anything. I stayed here after I knew you were okay because I wanted to. Despite the fact we all dress up on a nightly basis, I don’t actually care for Halloween all that much.”
She looked past him out the window for a moment, processing what he’d just told her. The longer she remained quiet, though, the more concerned he got.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
His question pulled her out of her head, and she tore her gaze away from the window. She’d been expecting a lecture about the myriad of things that went wrong earlier, not a pep talk. Granted, she would have told whoever lectured her to piss off, but still. She’d prepared for a fight and now that she wasn’t going to get one, she had no idea what to say.
Jason hauled himself upright and shook his head.
“You were expecting me to give you a hard time about tonight, weren’t you?”
She nodded, her face turning red.
“Thought so.” He reached over and rested a warm hand on her shoulder. “The ‘this is how you fucked up’ speech isn’t something you’ll ever get from me, alright? We carry around enough guilt as it is, we don’t need anyone else adding to that.” He squeezed her shoulder and she looked at up. “We good?”
“Yeah, we’re good.”
He nodded once and reached for the remote.
“Good. We misfit Robins have to stick together. Now, let’s find something better than this crap. Netflix has to have something scarier than Jason Voorhees.”
He flicked through his account and they argued for a little while until they settled on a movie about a zombie outbreak on a train. Something Jason said earlier was still on her mind and she had to know.
“Jay?”
“Yeah?”
“What could you possibly have against Halloween?”

4. Chrysanthemum (luck)
There was something special about gearing up for battle. Of course there was the usual fear, the nerves swirling low in Tony’s stomach and the anxious need to get moving already, but there was also something a little more longing. It wasn’t that Tony wanted villains to attack the Earth, but he couldn’t deny the stirrings of adrenaline that made his pulse race and his cheeks flush. It gave him a purpose in life, a way to give back to the world and the people that had given him so much over the years.
There was also something to be said for the feeling of getting ready and working with the team. His team. Suiting up with them all, receiving their briefings from Cap, – or some stressed-out Shield member who clearly wasn’t paid enough to deal with them all – and then a quick hug.
Tony was a tactile person. He always had been, even when he hadn’t been around anybody who would give him the affection he needed. It seemed that even through the thick metal of his suit, the touch of his team was enough to burn his skin.
He could feel Thor’s hand on his shoulder, could feel the press of Natasha’s thigh against his. Clint was usually away from him in the circle, but their fingers always brushed over someone’s shoulder blades. Whilst Bruce normally stood on the outskirts of their group hug, Tony caught him for a soft handshake before he jumped from the Helicarrier.
As much as Tony enjoyed that feeling of belonging, it was always Steve’s touch that Tony longed for the most. There was probably something very wrong with the thrill that went through Tony when his phone chimed with an Avengers alert. Sick, really. Something very wrong with the fact that Tony looked forward to hearing an alarm, to lifting his phone to be told to suit up and meet the rest of the team.
But this time was no different.
“Ah, Mr Rogers,” Tony drawled as he stepped into the Helicarrier to see Steve’s back to him, uniform half on and hanging around his waist, “I’ve been expecting you.”
Steve’s laugh was a sound that Tony didn’t think he would ever be bored of. It was loud, left the man like a bark, and always sounded as though Steve hadn’t anticipated it happening. Without fail, Tony’s own lips would curve up at the noise.
“I understood that reference.”
“I should think so,” Tony said as he stepped further into the Helicarrier, taking note that they were the only two there. “We only watched that film the other night. You’re not that old.”
Steve chuckled again and Tony shamelessly let himself stare at the rippling muscles on his back. Snapping himself out of it as best he could, he dropped into the pilot’s chair and set about starting the Helicarrier’s course. Their route had been preprogramed already and it didn’t take long to set them off, engaging auto-pilot as soon as he could.
“Just the two of us tonight?”
“Yes,” Steve said in answer, finally turning around to smile at Tony as he made his way from the controls to the back of the aircraft. “Thor’s off-world so he’s skipping. Nat and Clint were at Shield already so they’re closer; they went ahead with some new recruits. They’ll meet us there.”
“And Brucie-Bear is in India,” Tony said, setting down the briefcase containing his armour and clicking it open, standing to let his suit start to unfold. “Cozy battle.”
Steve’s eyes traced the hypnotising path of the armour before he met Tony’s gaze for a moment. “Low-level. By the time we get there, I’m sure it will be clean-up only.”
Tony licked his lips as Steve stretched to put his undershirt on, but schooled his features when Steve looked his way again.
“Then why are we even going?” He wasn’t ashamed of the whine in his voice when it made Steve laugh again.
“You aren’t supposed to enjoy the fighting, Tony.” The admonishment in his voice was purely for show; Tony knew for a fact that Steve hated clean-up just as much as he did. “It’s a team effort.”
“I’m not so much for the team,” Tony said, knowing that Steve wouldn’t believe him for a single second.
As if to prove him right, Steve snorted as he shrugged into the rest of his suit, tightening his belt and checking the straps on his shoulders. “It’s a practice run more than anything, anyway. We’ve sent some of the new agents out to see how they manage.”
Tony clicked his tongue and waited until he had Steve’s attention on him once more before he let his eyes dance down the other man’s body.
“Well,” he started, cocking out one hip and raising his eyebrow, “if it’s such an easy job, then I guess I don’t need to wish you any luck.”
The look on Steve’s face could have broken the strongest man and Tony felt heat course through him. Steve’s eyes were hooded, pupils blown so wide that they were almost all black.
“Well,” he echoed, taking a step towards Tony. “I wouldn’t say that. It might only be a practice run, but it’s always good to have luck, wouldn’t you agree?”
Tony ran his tongue over his bottom lip and moved forward until Steve’s boots touched the metal of his. “Of course. Maybe we should throw salt over our shoulders?”
“Could do,” Steve said, voice as low as his eyes were dark.
“Or we could rub a rabbit’s foot.”
“That is proven to work.”
Tony lifted his hand, armour not yet wrapped around it, and rested it on Steve’s chest. “I don’t suppose we could convince a bird to defecate on us?”
Steve’s lips twitched minutely as his own hands settled on Tony’s hips. There was no chance that the touch was actually melting through the suit, but Tony could have sworn he felt it searing his skin.
“Probably not,” Steve said, face inching closer and closer. “We should just stick to our own ritual.”
“You think?” Tony’s tongue darted out again and Steve wasn’t subtle as he followed it. It had been a year, if not two, since they’d begun their pre-battle ritual, and they hadn’t missed a single one. “That’ll work?”
“I’d say so,” Steve said, voice husky and making something deep inside of Tony stir.
“Well, if you think so.”
Tony didn’t get a chance to say anything more as Steve suddenly yanked him forward. Their bodies collided in a way that shouldn’t have been sexy and yet Tony’s head still swam.
There was no preamble to the kiss. Sometimes they’d be slow about it; leaning in gently, holding eye contact and breathing into each other’s mouths until the very last moment. Sometimes they’d only have a second before they had to go and the good luck kiss would be nothing more than the slightest brush of their lips before they broke apart and rushed head-first into the fight.
But other times there was no build-up to a romantic moment, no hiding in a corner for fear of being spotted, no finesse at all. There was no telling how the kiss would be until it started and Tony craved every unsure, mysterious moment.
Steve’s fingers dug into his hips and jolted Tony out of his thoughts, his attention suddenly all on the way that Steve’s lips pushed against his almost forcefully. Steve’s clever tongue pushed into his mouth and Tony yielded to it almost immediately, though there was no way that he was going to submit entirely. Moaning into Steve’s mouth, Tony let his hands wander up Steve’s chest and hooked them around his neck, holding him close as Tony rocked against him.
As it always did, time moved too quickly and, with one last drag of his tongue over the roof of Tony’s mouth, Steve eventually pulled back. Tony leant forward with the movement until Steve was gone.
“I think,” Tony said, holding Steve’s gaze and licking his lips, “that that was more worthwhile than finding a rabbit’s foot.”
“I’d say so.” Steve’s lips quirked and his fingers lessened their grip on his hips. “We should get going.”
Tony nodded, stepping back and commanding his armour to finish covering him. His hands disappeared behind shiny metal, though the urge to touch Steve wasn’t lessened at all. “Should see how the newbies got on.”
“Exactly.” There was a series of beeps from the front of the Helicarrier and Steve dropped his gaze to the watch on his wrist. “GPS says we’re only two minutes out.”
“Right.” There was so much more that Tony wanted to say, but he couldn’t. Feelings never came easily to Stark men and he wasn’t in the habit of making himself vulnerable.
Anyway, their ritual was just that. It was something that they did before a battle, nothing more. It was the same as Clint stretching out his arms or the way that Natasha checked and double checked her ammunition. It was like Thor throwing Mjölnir a few times, or Bruce nervously following the GPS tracker. It meant nothing more.
And one day, Tony would believe that.

A motion sickness peter with Tony and maybe Steve? Where he gets motion sickness can be up to you ☺️
Vomit trigger warning
“I can’t believe you bought another yacht Tony,” Steve sighed, popping a dramamine into his mouth as they walked down the dock.
“Mr. Stark this is so cool, I’ve never been on a boat before, do you think we’ll see any dolphins or sharks?” Peter rambled, practically bouncing beside the two men.
“Probably not, sorry kiddo,” Tony said, reaching out to pat his boat once they’d reached the end of the wooden docking station.
“You need to calm down Pete, boats aren’t that great,” Steve mumbled, reluctantly boarding the boat.
In all honesty, Steve wouldn’t have even come, but Tony’s been harping on the team about spending more bonding time with Peter and everyone else had said no, so he’d agreed. He wasn’t happy about it though. He was hoping that since he’d taken some medicine and wasn’t planning on eating anything, that he’d be okay.
“Don’t listen to him. He’s just mad because his stomach can’t handle the ocean. Boats are great,” Tony explained, helping Peter climb on as well before stepping in himself.
Tony made quick work of starting her up and setting her on auto pilot. He’d plotted them a course out just a ways, then planned to anchor for a while, watch the waves, then head back, the long way, to look at some of the nice scenery along the coast.
However, not long into their “peaceful” ride, things started to go awry. Tony glanced over at Peter, who was standing at the railing next to him, and noticed how pale and sweaty he looked. That’s never a good sign.
“You feeling okay there Pete?” he asked, placing a hand on the kid’s shoulder.
“M’fine Mr. Stark,” he said, just like he always does.
Steve walked over to join them, standing on the other side of Peter. After one look at the kid he shot Tony a worried look. Tony nodded and rolled his eyes. Obviously he’d already noticed.
“Hey kid, are you alright?” Steve asked.
“Um,” Peter swallowed, “Actually Mr. America,” another pause. “I don’t think my stomach likes the ocean either, “he finished quietly, leaning forwards slightly.
“It’s not a fun feeling huh?” he said sympathetically, refraining from telling Tony ‘I told you so’.
“N-no,” Peter stammered, voice choked.
“What do you need kiddo? Water? 7up? Some of Cap’s medicine?” Tony asked, having never experienced motion sickness himself, but immediately worried by how upset Peter sounded.
“Too late, won’t help,” Steve answered for him. “Here,” he continued, taking off his sunglasses and sliding them over Peter’s eyes. The glare off of the water can be nauseating all by itself, in his opinion.
“Oh. Right,” Tony said, looking uncomfortable. It was foreign to him to feel so out of his element.
“Just breath Peter, alright? In through your nose and out through your mouth. Try to focus on the line where the ocean meets the sky,” Steve instructed calmly.
“Oh, yeah. Okay,” Peter mumbled, voice thick with nausea.
“There you go, you’re alright,” Steve soothed, rubbing his back.
“I-I’m gonna throw up,” Peter said a few minutes later, swallowing compulsively.
“Okay let it happen kid, breathe through it and close your eyes,” he suggested, practically an expert on this particular matter. He’d been in Peter’s shoes many many times in his life.
“Hmmblllrggg,” Peter lurched forwards, stomach pressing up against the railing as it wrung itself out.
“Alright, easy, I’ve got you,” Steve said, looping his arm around the kids waist to make sure he didn’t tip over the railing, his other hand continuing to rub comforting circles into the back of Peter’s shirt.
Peter belched wetly, pitching forwards even further with an unproductive gag.
“Take a deep breath kid, settle,” Steve said softly, then turned to look at Tony. “Why don’t you go turn this thing around and get us back on dry land,” he suggested. Steve’s stomach was beginning to feel a little queasy as well.
Peter took a jagged breath, fighting back a dry heave. Steve slowly pulled him back up until he was standing straight again. Well, more or less. He was leaning a fair amount of weight against Steve, but that was alright.
“Come on, let’s go sit. We’ll be back before you know it,” Steve helped the kid trudge over to the bench located at the front of the ship, “Eyes closed, just relax.”

Imagine having anxiety.
Imagine in highschool, you would get such a pressure in your chest, that you didn’t know what it was, but the only way to make the pressure alleviate a little, was to press down on your own chest. Sometimes so hard, and so often, it gave you bruises. Or, when in gym class, you would be having fun, running around, when you would gag. Straight up. Just gag. Anytime you got any type of excited. Gag. You woke up nearly everyday freshman year nauseous, and you didn’t know why. And it was anxiety.
Imagine having narcolepsy.
Imagine that everyday, when you wake up, you are tired. You get up, eventually, and want to sleep again because you feel like you haven’t had enough. Doing little tasks, like feeding the cats, or giving them water, is exhausting. Try cleaning your house. You burn out. You get headaches constantly from your brain telling you to sleep. Sometimes you listen, and even though you know, it will make it worse. And waste your day because it needs to be 3+ hours. But still tired when you wake. Imagine having dreams of you being so physically exhausted you cannot open your eyes, and it’s impossible to get up, only to wake and realize that is your reality. And that’s your normal.
Imagine you also take a medication to combat said tired that causes anxiety, depression, and openly says, breathing problems.
Meow, imagine there’s a pandemic happening. That is mainly respiratory. So everytime you go to the store for anything, you pretty much get a panic attack because you are afraid. You get anxiety. Because of the medicine, anxiety is more. Because of the anxiety, you can’t breathe. Because you can’t breathe, you are scared. Imagine you are terrified.
Imagine that you were denied unemployment. Meow you have to file an appeal. And meow your old boss is messaging you. And then, your current boss says you are offered to work. Should you take it? Should you not? You’re scared. Now if you don’t take it, will you get unemployment still? What if your appeal is denied? Will you work? Will you get sick? Cue anxiety.
Imagine. There are people fighting to go back and get their lives back together. Imagine seeing both sides of the fight, seeing ridiculous statements. People saying, if they want to stay home they can. Open America. When. If we do open everything, I have to work. Because my job is open. And then the chances of me getting sick goes up more. But if things stay closed, I can still protect myself and live. Staying home sucks. I get it.
Imagine you have a friend with pre-existing lung damage from asthma. You sent her a gift and it had to stay in lockdown for two days to make sure it was safe. You were planning on getting together before lockdown happened.
Imagine you have her mother, also your friend, who lives in Canada and the us for 6 months each place. You were excited to see her in July, for a retreat you all planned then so she could be with you all. But she has to stay in Canada, for at least another year. She has lupus, as well as fought cancer and has a multitude of health and auto immune problems.
Imagine you have a friend who works in the ER in a large city. She sleeps on her bathroom floor, in order to try and protect her husband going through chemo.
Imagine you have a sister about to graduate high school, and she will no longer walk across the stage, throw her cap, or do any senior activities.
Imagine there are people who do not think this is serious. And they want a haircut.

Tumblr media
What is your name? “Normally I wouldn’t take part in something like this, but now that the Institute is gone... I... I’m hoping it can help me find someone. Oh, ehm. Right! A name. Nathan. Nathan Sinclair.”
How old are you? “ 32... well, no... *his hand shifts to scratch at the stubble under his chin* Normally, this wouldn’t be a complicated question to answer. *he shifts in his seat* Do you remember that article about the ‘Man Out Of Time’ published by Publick Occurrences a few years back? Turns out, he isn’t the only thawed out pre-war relic kickin’ about.”
What do you look like? *He chuckles to himself for a moment* ”Back in the day one would just post a photo with the article. The things you take for granted. But, um, darker caucasion, dark brown hair, blue eyes, and freckles… those have always been my tell.”
Where are you from? Where do you live now? “Chicago. Then Boston. Now, I rent a room in the Dugout Inn. I haven’t found anywhere… more permanent since leaving the Institute.”
What was your childhood like? “Traveled a lot. My father was in the Army. My mother left before I can remember, so there isn’t much to say about her. My dad wasn’t really built to be a single dad. So most of the time I was appointed a guardian. It sucked at the time... but it’s a better childhood than what most kids are subjected to these days.”
What groups are you friendly with? Are you allied with any factions? “The Railroad. They were the ones who planned and carried out my liberation.  Though it was more of a tactical maneuver against the Institute, and I guess that still makes me a  pawn, but… at least they treat me better…. So for that, I am grateful.”
Tell me about your best friend. “I’d have to say Agent Sparrow. He was the main agent who orchestrated my rescue.  When it came to knowledge on the Institute, he was second to none. He was an escaped Synth himself, and had dedicated his life to rescuing others of his kind. Sparrow is a remarkable guy... definitely one of the funniest people I have ever met! Though I can sense a sadness in him. Like there is something or someone he is longing for. Anytime I try to ask him about it, he tends to avoid or change the subject.”
Do you have a family? Tell me about them! “Once, I had a wife and son. *He paused for a minute as he focused on the swaying light fixture above his head, trying to fight back his emotions* But they are both dead now.”
What about a partner or partners? " Technically, no one. But there is someone I am trying to find. Someone I desperately hope I can mend what I broke.”
Who are your enemies, and why? “ The Institute was the only enemy I had. Now they are gone..”
Have you ever heard of The Brotherhood of Steel? What do you think about them? "The Railroad is definitely not a fan of them but despite that, Sparrow seems to think differently of them.”
What about The Enclave? "I am not familiar with that term.”
How do you feel about Super Mutants? “In honest, their existence is pretty depressing. They are little more than Feral Ghouls, shadows of their former selves.”
What’s the craziest fight you’ve ever been in? “ Honestly, since waking up in the future, I can't recall a fight that wasn’t bat-shit-crazy.”
Have you ever fought a Deathclaw? “Only one. Didn’t come outta that one in the best of shape.”
Do you like fighting? “No. Even as a former soldier, I hate it.”
What’s your weapon of choice? "I favor semi-auto rifles. Though I haven’t managed to keep one in working order long enough to favor any particular one. They don’t make them like they used to.”
How do you survive? Your wits, your charm, your skills, brute force, some combination? (a.k.a. what’s your S.P.E.C.I.A.L?) "Wits. It’s what saved my ass in the war... so far it’s still working here.”
Have you ever been in a vault? What do you think about them? “Yes. Vault 111, It was my unwilling home for over 200 years.”
How do you beat all the radiation around here? Has it affected you? "First Radstorm was the night I was rescued from the Institute. wasn't the best first impression of the surface world. I was sick for weeks. Now, I stock up on RadAway and try to keep out of its way.”
What’s your favorite wasteland critter? “Whatever doesn't try to kill me I guess”
What’s your least favorite wasteland critter? ”The ones that try to kill me”
How do you feel about robots? “If they don’t try to kill me, I see no issue with them”
How many caps do you have on you right now? “If I tell you, are you gonna try and steal them? Haha”
Nuka Cola or Sunset Sarsaparilla? “Truthfully, I've never heard of the second one, and I didn’t even like Nuka Cola before the war.”
Do you do chems? “No. Never.”
Do you ever think about the Pre-War world? “Always. In my dreams and in my nightmares.”
What’s your deepest regret? What would you do differently? “Well without getting too deep into details. I need to apologize for something horrible I once did. That choice brought out good and bad… but nonetheless, I want to correct it.”
What’s your biggest achievement? Or what do you hope to achieve? “I don’t think I have an answer to either of those questions”
What do you want for the future? For yourself? Your friends? The world? “Idealistically, a better world… but It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel on that one.”

Fallout Party: Day 5
What Dinah thinks of the New Vegas factions (towns are in part 2!)
Followers of the Apocalyse- "Really nice people, trying to help however they can. I was lucky to have parents that were educated enough to teach me to read, do math, repair robots n' shit... A lotta people out here don't have that opportunity, so its good the Followers have this thing going.
Brotherhood of Steel- Most of em are dicks. I mean Veronica's cool, but even SHE doesn't like how they do stuff. And Ronnie's super nice, so if she doesn't like you you're probably a dick. And they're so elitist; they were so shocked that a Wastelander like me had just as much experience working with robotics as them. I think they should leave their hidey hole before they starve themselves out--last time a bunch of people were too stubborn to leave their underground home, my parents' Vault got fucked up and everyone either scrambled out of there or died.
Boomers- AAAAAAAAAAAH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! They don't like strangers and every time I try to get close to their base they try to blow me up, but that just makes me want to go even more. Do you think they like plasma grenades more, or frag grenades? Do they have fireworks? I can make some for em, like maybe I can give some to them as a present and they'll let me join...
Legion- Ughhhhh... I don't actively hunt them down like Boone or the NCR, but I don't necessarily like them. At all. I mean, I try not to discriminate customers, and I get a lot of Legionnaires wanting to buy explosives from the shop. But I'm always uncomfortable when they come into the shop. I had to lay out certain rules for what I'll do for them after a few soldiers came in and asked me to repair a crate of broken slave collars. I said that I wasn't able to do that, and they left without making a fuss about it. I also think they're a bit hypocritical with the whole "no technology" rule they have. I mean you can't use Auto-docs or medicine that isn't just some plants mashed up into powder, but slave collars, pulse, and plasma grenades are okay? It's fuckin' dumb. Despite my feelings about em, I have to admit that I never run into any Raiders or bandits when I'm delivering something in Legion territory. And in the Wastes, consistent safety's not an easy thing to have.
Great Khans- These guys are cool. Down to earth, don't take shit from anybody, and are really fun to hang out with. Papa Khan even gave me a painted leather jacket as a way to thank me for all the jobs/deliveries I've done for them. They'd probably get more shit done if they weren't doing a ton of Jet and Med-x, but I'm not one to judge. After Bitter Springs, a lot of em use chems as their only way to cope with their kids and wives getting slaughtered.
NCR- What a mixed bag. On one hand, they're particularly fond of fucking over locals in the Mojave. And I was born and raised here, so to say the least I'm not a fan of that. They also don't think ahead or long-term, they're just focused on taking the Dam and...well, that's really the only thing they give a shit about. But what happens once they get it? They gonna roll in and run the Mojave? They have enough trouble keeping their own people in line. The squatters in Freeside are barely scraping by, their farmers don't have enough water to grow what the higher ups want em to, and their fight with the Legion is shitting up the Mojave something fierce. But unlike the Legion, their "good guy to asshole ratio" is a bit more even. Most guys in NCR are alright and doing what they think is best, but they don't really think of anyone outside the NCR. And there are some who are critical of em, like Cass and Boone. So they aren't ALL shitheads.
Powder Gangers- Really fun guys to hang out with. It was weird when I first found out they were convicts from NCR (I've only ever heard of prisons in my books about life before the War. Some towns have little jails for petty stuff but usually the Mojave if you fuck up and break the law, you either pay caps to fix what you did, the town sheriff shoots you, or you're run outta town). But we have a lot in common, what with the love for explosives and all. I wish they'd stop harassing travelers and caravans (and leave Primm alone) though. Sooner or later, the locals in Ganger territory are gonna get sick of their shit and may join the NCR in taking them out. Until that happens I like to hang out with em though (get drunk, throw dynamite and fireworks off cliffs, etc).

If you like money and crypto, then make sure to hit that subscribe button and smash the like button if you like uncovering gems. This lets YouTube know that you’re digging DeFi and you want to know what the future of finance is going to be.
In today’s video, we’re going to take a look into the future of DeFi and explore a blue-chip that is backed by the same hedge funds supporting Aave, Yearn Finance and Synthetix. And just so everybody’s clear about this, I’ve never spoken to the team and this is in no way a sponsored video.
It’s just a super investigative piece about the next big thing. Centralized finance wants to be in charge of figuring out who rules the world and deciding who is rich, who’s richer and who’s destined to stay poor. Of course, it’s the majority. In crypto, we believe in decentralization. This means the community, the people, are in charge of our own future. Our own wealth.
Everyone saw GameStop flying through the roof. WallStreetBets, a Reddit community focused on investing in stonks, brought it to the attention of the space, as greedy institutional investors shorted the stock immensely, which, if successful, would have resulted in the complete destruction of GameStop. The Reddit vigilantes then repeated this with other stonks, like AMC, BlackBerry and others.
This is another example of CeFi deciding what lives and who gets BitConnected. WallStreetBets took it into their own hands and gave a strong push back into the current centralized finance structure. GameStop, of course, flew to Mars with the support of Elon Musk and other large media personalities who supported the rebellion. One can see now what a single group can achieve by striving toward one common goal— fighting centralized finance and catching them with their pants down. Ugly sight.
But wait, we’re in crypto, not decentralized finance world, right? Have you seen what the same group did with Dogecoin? They made it pump 10X, 1,000% in less than two days. Guess what, all the ones who made profit off of those sick gains are searching for the next big thing.
And I can tell you, they’re definitely looking toward DeFi. The success of Aave, Yearn Finance and Synthetix shows the interest of enterprises and retail investors in decentralized finance, and, well, that’s only the beginning. The rigged financial system is yearning to be replaced as soon as possible, and there’s many systems being built to do just that.
With all the economical and political drama going on, DeFi has been killing it the past 12 months. New groundbreaking protocols were built in the bear market and exploded even before the market sentiment turned bullish. The most outstanding ones, of course, are Aave and Synthetix.
Aave made an insane 260X! And Synthetix, an astronomical 407X in less than a year! This is DeFi, ladies and gentlemen, and this is only the pregame party. Let’s check DeFi Pulse stats. In one year, the total locked value went from $550 million to a whopping $37 billion, a 67X! Huge investment funds like Grayscale, NGC, Framework and Coinbase Ventures are betting big on DeFi as the leader in this bull run.
The trend is your friend. Remember that. The BitBoy Crypto research team, or that room you’ve seen from my screens called Super Secret Club, is tirelessly searching for the next parabolic mover, and, as we know, DeFi is a hot topic.
Tumblr media
A few days ago, we came across a project which turned out to be the missing puzzle piece to the Yearn and Aave DeFi kingdom. It opens up the doors to yield farming for average investors and whales in just a few clicks, promising to make DeFi easy. It’s called APY Finance and the ticker, APY, a plug and play solution for investors which routes funds to the best yield farming strategies.
One won’t have to search for options himself and worry about changing yield aka returns. It’s all automated and is essentially an aggregator of DeFi. What’s more, this new project, APY Finance, is already connected to all the leading DeFi protocols such as Uniswap, SushiSwap, Aave, Compound, Curve, Yearn, Synthetix, dYdX and more. You deposit DAI, USDC or Tether stablecoins, and it finds the best risk-reward yield farming strategy options for you.
APY even spreads out the risk by routing your funds to multiple farms. This way, smart contract risk is way lower and the yield higher and more sustainable. The gas fees for transactions, pool deposits and withdrawals are seven times lower than at Compound, Curve and Yearn Finance, which, of course, is a game-changer as gas fees are skyrocketing on Ethereum. Now, on to the founder and the lead developer.
The founder and CEO, Will Shada, is an OG developer who has won multiple hackathons including Consensus Quorum, ConsenSys NYC Grants, ETHBoston, Uniswap Prize for HackMoney 2020 and more. He’s an experienced and skilled developer with some strong connections, which, of course, we’re going to discuss below.
The second lead developer of APY Finance, Chan-Ho Suh, has worked as a Capital One quant developer. Capital One aka the financial corporation with a revenue of $34 billion specializing in credit cards, auto loans, banking and savings accounts.
I can’t imagine better backgrounds for DeFi engineers. The project is also backed by well-known hedge fund whales such as CoinGecko– yes, the largest cryptocurrency ranking website after CoinMarketCap– Alameda Research– remember that one– Rarestone Capital, Cluster Capital, Arrington Capital, Vendetta Capital, DeltaHub, Master Ventures, WolfEdge Capital, BlackEdge Capital, The LAO, Genblock Capital, TRG Capital, Twelve Capital, White Palm Ventures– basically everybody else under the sun.
But I would be here listing them all day. They tried to hide it, but we found it all. Some of these venture capitals have a lot of connections that have a lot of voices in this space. And, of course, I don’t want to end up getting killed, so I’m not going to tell you who they are right now. But the thing is, is that these VCs are pushing a lot of projects. And I will say that all of these are betting on APY Finance, so I’m looking deeper into it.
The mainnet is launching anytime now. The team is even aiming for this quarter. Now, APY has a market cap of only $15 million with a token price of 90¢, which is over 60X away from Yearn Finance’s market cap and an astonishing 407X away from Aave’s. According to the team, APY has a tier-1 listing ahead of it with its mainnet launch, which makes me even more bullish.
And it’s pretty easy to tell which CEX, or “CEX”, will most likely be first to list it— FTX Exchange, as it is tied to Sam, who’s behind Alameda Research, which is invested in APY, as we already mentioned. For anyone who doesn’t know who Sam is, he’s one of the most influential people in crypto and a self-made crypto magnate.
He’s even earned a spot at Forbes 30 Under 30 recently as well. Now, of course, I have not been contacted for the 38 Under 38. With such large backing, I have no doubt they will get a top tier exchange listing before you know it. Now, I also got a strong feeling that there’ll be an Aave and Yearn Finance scaling solution as investors seek the best yields and least risk, with importantly a solution that is easy to use.
Interestingly enough, Hacker Noon, a blog that is known for predicting upcoming trends, wrote a dedicated article on APY Finance and another article on yield aggregators being the next big thing in DeFi mentioning the project again. APY is still somewhat under the radar, but, of course, after this video, it won’t stay there for much longer. We see you, BitSquad.
DeFi is warming up for its second parabolic run, and the BitBoy Crypto team is striving to pick the winning horse before the race even get started. What do you think? Which projects will have the biggest potential to pull an Aave or Synthetix type run during this bull cycle? Make sure to drop your comments down below.

Cole Sprouse Opens Up About Growing Up in the Public Eye.
Tumblr media
Cole Sprouse once left his Disney mouse ears behind for a cap and gown, but he's recently pulled on another famous hat—or, should we say, crown beanie? Sprouse returned to the small screen this year as the lovably brooding Jughead Jones on Riverdale, the CW's twisted take on the beloved Archie comics.
If you haven't heard of the Gossip Girl–meets–Twin Peaks hit, you're probably the only one. Since its premiere in January, it's become a cult favorite. If he were any other member of the cast, Sprouse might be overwhelmed with the fame and recognition. But he's been here before.
We talked to the 24-year-old about life as a child star with his twin brother, Dylan, weird fan interactions, feminism, and those divisive Riverdale ships.
A lot of the Disney cohort went on to major acting careers and projects right away—what made you choose to go to college and take a different route?
I think regardless of success, all those kids were dealing with a similar dilemma when it came to their maturity and their publicity and fame, and how they were viewed in the public eye. Some people choose sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll to come to terms with it. Some people find religion. [College] seemed like the most productive way to prove to people we were coming into ourselves. I was finding out my identity and growing by going to an institution where I could evolve and become more adept at understanding why I was thinking certain things, and how society viewed me.
Acting requires a great amount of empathy for real lived human experiences. I hadn't lived any real human experiences outside of homeschool and being in a sound stage, and there was really no other option. I couldn't continue to live in a bubble and hope to be an empathic actor. It doesn't work. I was really sick of the entertainment industry and wanted to step away. Dylan and I were nonstop—we were being recognized and it was overbearing, and I figured it would be nice to let that dissolve. I didn't know if I was going to return, and then this project sort of crept up.
Are you enjoying it now that you're back?
Yeah, it's fulfilling, and I think that's the only currency I am looking for right now. As long as it stays fulfilling, I will continue doing it, but the second it stops being fulfilling I'll leave.
What does your brother think of 'Riverdale'?
He supports the show…. I don't know if he enjoys it. This kind of programming has never really been our flavor of choice. I don't really want him to watch anything I do and I don't really watch anything he'll do. We have a very easy time separating work and play and I wouldn't really care less if he watched or if he enjoyed it. I don't really have an easy time watching myself, so I guess I sort of imprint that upon my friends and family.
Originally, you you argued to keep Jughead asexual and aromantic, as he is in the comics. What did those conversations sound like?
When we got the parts, the creative team sat down with the actors and asked how they saw each character. I had argued for a super faithful representation of Jughead as he lives in the comics, which inherently was also me arguing for the aromantic, asexual Jughead. But [they] are two very different versions of the same character in two very different universes.
It's very strange to me how much attention this [has received]. I am an actor. I have an idea of what I see for the character and I can express that idea and that opinion, but ultimately it is out of my hands. If this were a different kind of programming or it were my show, it would probably look a little bit different, but the commercial success of Riverdale and how people are talking and liking it shows that we've gone in a direction that makes a lot of sense and works.
It's one of those things that needs representation but has not been properly represented. It's something I still fight for and it's something I fought for about the second season, but ultimately it's not in my court. I guess we will see where the narrative takes us.
Tumblr media
On a lighter note, once and for all, because the internet can't agree, is the Jughead/Betty ship called Jetty or Bughead?
[Laughs] I think it's Bughead. It's the single strangest name for a coupling ever, but it works.
There seem to be two main Riverdale fan ships: Bughead and Beronica (Betty/Veronica). Which one are you behind?
I actually really ship Betty and Archie. When I would read the Archie comics when I was younger I was rooting for Betty and Archie way over any alternative. [I think I would have seen] that long-lived, childlike romance from two people knowing each other since youth as probably quite romantic. I am a sucker for that childhood romance narrative.
I know our fans take very specific camps with who they ship and who they want and all those camps are at huge war with one another. Riverdale is about to ignite into flames considering how the camps are at war with each other. I try not to involve myself too much.
I am sorry I just brought you into it.
[Laughs] Well, the question we get all the time as a cast is, 'Are you a Betty or Veronica person?' I don't like that. I think it's hard and it also puts the cast members against one another in a strange and competitive way that makes me a little uncomfortable. So most of our cast don't even answer it.
How did your fan-catcher Instagram account @Camera_Duels get started? Are you ever going to bring it back?
I was younger and just about to go to college, and very discontented with the way people were treating me in the public sphere. Sometimes you can read someone's aura and actions—they're shifting and fidgeting, and they're fumbling for the phone. It's a dehumanizing, very obvious kind of thing.
I would always be dissatisfied that people wouldn't just ask, because I always say yes. So @camera_duels was born. It was a way of coping or trying to turn it around in my favor and give me more agency in a situation. I felt sort of like a man behind a glass wall. It ended up really helping me, so much that I stopped. I found the whole thing not to really disturb me anymore.
I am sure with Riverdale increasing ever so slowly in prestige, it will only increase in intensity and I'll bring it back. But I think it deserves something a little bit more now. I've been thinking about getting a film camera with a quick auto focus and a nice flash to make it into something that could be found in a gallery space, which I think would be more enjoyable to me.
Tumblr media
You recently subtweeted yourself, over a comment you made as an 11-year-old, where you said you like girls who don't wear too much makeup. Do you consider yourself a feminist?
There is no question I consider myself a feminist, but I also think the term 'feminist' has become a topical thing to say without backing it up with any real action. My satirical tweet about my old opinion doesn't solidify me as a figure within a conversation that's so much greater than my straight, white male opinion. My Twitter is a joke toilet and I filter all these old, cringe-y parts of my brother and my childhood through that, in an attempt to flush it down the drain forever. When you grow older, you unpack the way masculinity teaches you to view women.
Going back to the question of whether I am a feminist or not: Yes. I think the core of that question is do you support equality for women, and of course. It's funny that it even becomes a touchy or sensitive thing for people to announce formally, it's kind of fucking ludicrous. There is not a question in my mind. There are, of course, places and spheres where I wish I would have done more to make those actions back up the title, but I think that's something that as I grow and I age and I get a little more agency within my society, I'll always try and work towards that.

Once again, cage fanatics were treated to loads and loads of sizzling action this week. From the exciting new line-ups in the NBA, to the mad rush among PBA teams to join the last bus to the playoffs, to the thrill-a-minute battles that characterized the finals in both the NCAA and UAAP collegiate wars, and finally, to the preparations to defend the cage crown in the incoming Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games),  Pinoy basketball diehards have had frenetic non-stop action at its best.  Being a bonafide hardcourt fan and a couch potato myself, I could hardly leave my seat to get my fill of popcorn and pizza, as the boobtube action presented highlight after glorious highlight of fun and energy.
Hmmm…. It’s the Los Angeles Lakers against …hmmm… is that the Ateneo Blue Eagles? (courtesy of imgaracade.com)
A world away, spanking new line-ups and alliances in the NBA are battling it out in what are enticing appetizers to determine who will step forward for the epic battles come the playoffs next April.
After 5 months of jostling and jawing for top stars and dominant rookies, the NBA season got underway in spectacular fashion. It’s a wide open race for the crown this time; and each week, we have been regaled with match-ups made in Hoop Heaven. Not a week goes by without dynamic duos such as the Lakers’ King Lebron and Anthony Davis, or the Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, or the Rockets’ James Harden and Russell Westbrook, or the Sixers’ Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons or the Celtics’ Kemba Walker and the Jayson-Jaylen twins locking horns, matching wits against each other. And it certainly looks like it will be an exciting race for the playoff.
In the Eastern Conference, the top seeds Milwaukee Bucks (12-3) and Philadelphia 76ers (9-5) are being challenged strongly by the surprising Boston Celtics (11-3), the under-the-radar Miami Heat (10-3), and reigning but Kawhi-less Toronto Raptors (10-4). The Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo will not give up his regular season MVP crown without a fight. After a strong start, Embiid and Simmons have been in and out of sick bay, hence the Sixers low flight in the past weeks.  The Celtics, despite losing Kyrie Irving and Al Horford, are showing that good teamwork will always trump individual talent. Boston’s diminutive Kemba Walker is showing far better leadership than the stylish Kyrie, squeezing more juice from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, sustaining the Celtic charge despite the injury sidelining Gordon Hayward. The Raptors, starring budding star Paskal Siakam, are using last year’s playoff experience to push themselves despite Kawhi’s flight and the absence of Kyle Lowry due to injury.
In the Western Conference, the LA’s Lakers (12-2) and Clippers (10-5) are revving an inter-town rivalry. But they too are challenged, as the Denver Nuggets (10-3), the Houston Rockets (11-4), the Dallas  Mevericks (9-5) and the Utah Jazz (9-5) are flexing their muscles for all to see. After a forgettable first game against the Clippers, King Lebron’s Lakers are finally showing steady progress. The Clippers, on the other hand, have shown glimpses of greatness, with Paul George reporting for court duty. But the load management program that has Kawhi missing some important match-ups is not sitting well with some fans. In Houston, the fragile Harden-Westbrook alliance seems to be holding. We’ll see how it goes when the going gets tough in the playoffs. In Dallas, Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic is taking it a step higher with his sizzling MVP numbers.

In the Southeast Asian scene, the Philippines’ newest version of the Gilas squad is getting ready for the SEA Games. It is the last international bastion of glory that cage-crazy Pinoys are holding on to, but the Thais and the Indons have slowly been inching closer with their new breed of players. With a mix crew of oldies and newbies, resurrected national coach Tim Cone hopes that he doesn’t end up with the ignominy of being the coach that gave it all away.
Veterans June Mar Fajardo, LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar and Roger Pogoy will lead the campaign. Notable absentees are the wily court leader Jayson Castro, Ginebra’s behemoth Greg Slaughter and crowd favorite Terrence Romeo. The tourney will kick-off on December 4 here in Manila.

In the PBA scene, the elimination round is over, and the 8 qualifiers for the next round step forward. The NLEX Warriors, Meralco Bolts and the TNT Katropa finished with similar 8-3 slots as the wild regular round-robin ended. The three were joined by crowd favorite Ginebra Kings to gain top honors and twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs. The powerhouse San Miguel Beermen have their dreams of a rare sweep in jeopardy as they landed 5th in the elimination round. The PBA will take a break as the SEA Games take center stage this early December.

In the NCAA, the storied rivalry between the Letran Knights and the San Beda Red Lions hit the roof, with the Knights nipping the Lions 81-79 in Game 3 of a heart-stopping best-of-3 Finals series. In 2015, the Knights had spoiled the Red Lions’ bid for a glorious 6-peat, carving out a hard-earned overtime win in another Game 3 series. Once again, the Knights have stopped the Lions’ 3-peat bid on its road to another championship. Before a sellout crowd of over 19,000 at the MOA Arena, the Knights’ Jerrick Balanza – making a heroic comeback this year after a risky brain surgery – unleashed 27 points to break the hearts of the Lions’ fans.
And over in the UAAP, the Ateneo Blue Eagles completed a rare tournament sweep, with 16 straight wins covering the eliminations up to the final round.  But the dream feat was by no means easy, as the UST Growling Tigers kept pounding till the end. UST had almost capped a cinderella season, coming from behind countless times to take the second Finals slot away from erstwhile tourney favorite, UP Fighting Maroons.
But the Eagles simply would not be denied.  Thirdy Ravena, for the longest time playing under the shadow of his multi-awarded big-bro Kiefer, became the first and only 3-time MVP in UAAP’s Men’s Basketball Finals, with a Finals average of 29.5 points, 8 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per game.  And cerebral Coach Tab Baldwin deflected the praises ever so coolly, opting to pour love and extreme compliments on his wards. Indeed, the Eagles have soared so much higher for anyone to catch.
There you have it, folks. The week that was. Will El-Ay’s Lakers and the Clippers duke it out for the Western Conference crown in the NBA? Or will the Rockets spoil the  Laker-Clipper thriller? Will the Celtics be able to slip past the gauntlet set by the Bucks and the Sixers in the east? Will the Philippines keep its last international basketball crown in the international arena? Will the San Miguel Beermen be able to achieve that rare sweep of the year’s 3 PBA tourneys? Stay glued.
Last week’s offerings have been good for sports fanatics like me. Tune in for more next week.

What do you pay for car insurance, if you don’t mind me asking?
"What do you pay for car insurance, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm curious.    I have recently moved and I couldn't believe the difference in price for car insurance.  I two thousand miles east and now pay just over a thousand a year as opposed to four and a half thousand where I used to live.    So, if you don't mind, could you say where you live and how much you pay in car insurance?    I think this will be interesting and rather revealing.

Walmart has come under mega union labor union criticism as a retailer whose employees are both underpaid and mistreated. Like many insurance plans which have been canceled as a result of Obamacare benefit regulations, Walmart's health insurance has been called substandard. Car insurance coverage fraud!?
My boyfriend did something very stupid that I am worried about. He wanted to apply for a pizza delivery job at Domino's. My boyfriend heard that he was doing this, then he walked out before the company called him back to say he wasn't in their data base. Who has a better idea for getting health insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions?
The problem is that, without the mandate, insurance companies won't cover people with pre-existing conditions. Otherwise, people will just wait until they get sick to buy insurance. So you have to create a system where everyone is insured -- a mandate. OK, if you don't like the mandate, how would you get insurance companies to provide affordable insurance to people with pre-existing conditions without a requirement for everyone to have insurance Your solution has to cover the situation where a person gets laid off, wants to start their own business, and needs to buy affordable individual coverage (not group coverage) for themselves and their family. You have 30 minutes. Begin....now.""

I could potentially cover this with my upcoming paycheck (I think, don't know for sure), but would it be better to pay for it myself or use the deductible from USAA and see my parent's insurance rise? No proof of insurance question?

I had an idea that my insurance was no longer valid due to it overdrafting from my account when i had no money. so i contacted the insurance company and now they will NOT re-instate the insurance policy due to the fact that i have had two bad overdrafts with them. I completly understand, and like i told the officer, this is my fault...i was poor..... anyways. Now i hear that the fine is 400.00 to start, i am willing to pay as i did not take the time to ensure insurance was active on the vehicle and that the overdraft was taken care of. However now i am hearing im going to loose my license...... So i was told by the driver license department that if i go out now and get an SR22 qualifying insurance plan with a different company, that when i walk into the justice court payment window, they will not take away my license from me? however justice court states that my license will get taken away and i have to bring the proof of insurance to the DMV............and get my license back. In need of a good dental insurance plan in South Florida.
I desperately need braces but I can't afford them, neither can my parents. I have two teeth that I call my shark teeth because they grew in back of my normal line of teeth. One on the top, and one on the bottom. So it bothers the hell out of my tongue and I can't stand it anymore. I'm always getting those annoying sore taste buds, like one would get if they bite their tongue, on my tongue because one of my shark teeth is my fang so it hurts like hell. I need to fix my teeth but I'll need a good dental insurance plan that covers a big percentage of the cost of my braces. And it cant be just a dental discount plan, those on average only discount 25% and I need more than that. I'm 17, I live with my parents and they'll be paying for it, but it will only be a single plan, not a family plan. I live in South Florida. So if anyone can give me the name of a great insurance plan, then you'll be a miracle worker. Thank you.""

Has you health insurance premium cost gone up or down?
Individuals buying health insurance on their own will see their premiums tumble next year in New York State as changes under the federal health care law take effect, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced on Wednesday. State insurance regulators say they have approved rates for 2014 that are at least 50 percent lower on average than those currently available in New York. Beginning in October, individuals in New York City who now pay $1,000 a month or more for coverage will be able to shop for health insurance for as little as $308 monthly. With federal subsidies, the cost will be even lower. Supporters of the new health care law, the Affordable Care Act, credited the drop in rates to the online purchasing exchanges the law created, which they say are spurring competition among insurers that are anticipating an influx of new customers. The law requires that an exchange be started in every state.""

How is the Mitsubishi Lancer GTS classified by most insurance companies?
I've been researching insurance quotes in preparation for buying a new (used) car, mainly for various sporty compact sedans. When I got to the 2010 Mitsu Lancer GTS, I was pretty appalled at how much higher the quote was than the others, like the Subaru Impreza and Mazda3 Sport, despite having extremely similar horsepower, speed, safety features and crash test ratings. Is it considered a sports car or something? Does it get lumped in with the uber-expensive Evo because of the word Lancer ?""

What do you pay for car insurance, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm curious.    I have recently moved and I couldn't believe the difference in price for car insurance.  I two thousand miles east and now pay just over a thousand a year as opposed to four and a half thousand where I used to live.    So, if you don't mind, could you say where you live and how much you pay in car insurance?    I think this will be interesting and rather revealing.

Is health insurance worth getting if you are 23?
I just started working my first real adult job and have become eligible for a health insurance package. If I decided to get the benefits, about $88 dollars will be taken from my paycheck--that will be $176 a month ($2,112 over a year) that I will be loosing. That's a lot! I'm 23 (female) and I never get sick and I haven't had the need to go to the the doctor for anything serious in over 4 years. It may seem like a stupid question since Health Coverage right now is a current hot topic that many people are fighting about, but....SHOULD I GET MY BENEFITS? I just don't see the point of having all that money taken out of my paycheck and then STILL having to pay a co-pay. I might go see a Obgyn but that costs less than $250 out off pocket which is still less than $2112. I also just left college so I'm current on all my physicals, and I don't need any eye prescriptions. So is it worth the gamble?""

Is there such a thing as driver insurance where the car does not have to be insured?
My friend is 16 and she saved up and bought a car (the title is in her name). Now she is broke and cannot afford the insurance so she does not drive it. Her step mom drives it though and she says that the car does not need insurance because she (the step mom) has driver insurance and any car she drives has liability coverage from her insurance. I have never heard of driver insurance and I was wondering if the step mom is pulling some sort of scam (her car is frequently broken and it is very convenient to have a third car) Can somebody tell me if this driver insurance exists.

I don't drive a sporty car either, I drive a 2002 Accord. And I still have to wait 7 years for my insurance to go down to a reasonable rate? doesn't this sound a little ridiculous? My mom has yet to get in one (well, one that doesn't involve being rear ended). My girlfriend's oldest sister, who is now 27, hasn't gotten in an accident either. How much will my insurance be?
I'm turning 16, and I intend to get a used passenger van for my first car (I'm in a band), and my parents are making me pay for my first 6 months of insurance (I believe you have to be 18 to have your own insurance so I guess they're making me pay the difference between whatever they usually pay and how much they'll pay after I'm on their policy. The van I'm looking at has 120,000 miles on it, if that matters, but only 70,000 on the rebuilt engine.""
Health Insurance Vs No Health Insurance?
Joe is currently unemployed and without health insurance coverage. He derives utility (U) from his interest income on his savings (Y) according to the following function: U = 5(Y1/2) Joe presently makes about $40,000 of interest income per year. He realizes that there is about a 5 percent probability that he may suffer a heart attack. The cost of treatment will be about $20,000 if a heart attack occurs. a. Calculate Joes expected utility level without any health insurance coverage. b. Calculate Joes expected income without any insurance coverage. c. Suppose Joe must pay a premium of $1,500 for health insurance coverage with ACME insurance. Would he buy the health insurance? Why or why not? d. Suppose now that the government passes a law that allows all peoplenot just the self-employed or employedto have their entire insurance premium exempted from taxes. Joe is in the 33 percent tax bracket. Would he buy the health insurance at a premium cost of $1,500? Why or why not? What implications can be drawn from the analysis?""

What liability would you have if you let someone else use your address to obtain cheaper car insurance?
I know it is morally wrong but the situation is not what it appears. I let this relative use my address before in order to hide from a former abusive spouse. Now that scenario is not the issue and for a long time I was only receiving junk mailings for her. But once or twice this year I received something from a car insurance co. I could not open it but it looked like a bill. She lives in an area notorious for sky high insurance rates. Can I get into trouble, or is she the only one committing fraud? I don't want to get in trouble for her but I do feel bad because she doesn't make much money.""

I was rear ended (not at fault) the other day my car was totaled. My car was a red 1999 Ford Taurus SE with 146,000.
