Love how people will go online and brag about not seeing other people as people with their entire, disgusting chest.
And then, of course, there’s the comments agreeing or doubling down on how the person was ‘doing too much’ etc. God fucking forbid someone asks for something with some specifics, never mind what dietary needs they might have. Never mind that cream and sugar offer actual calories vs black coffee.

Who is this sassy lost child?
[First] Prev <–-> Next
#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#lan wangji#a-yuan#A-Yuan knows how to to utilise his big wet eyes to get treats. What a little legend.#The crowd comments about LWJ being 'daddy' and WWX being 'the mother' are a little too 'fan-service bait' for me.#So I am personally reimagining it as another layer of 'misinterpretation of a more complex situation' commentary.#I like how the different styles of interacting with children WWX an LWJ exhibit say so much about their own childhoods.#We - human beings in the real world - take two lessons from how we were parented: What we valued and what we wish we had.#LWJ leaning into indulgence is him pushing back against his own childhood of asceticism. It's something he didn't have - so he gives it.#WWX on the other hand has been *so* defined by his drive to indulge. And here he is the restrictor!#It takes a bit more to see what's going on here. The factors are not singular.#but to keep it in theme with LWJ; I'd propose it is partly his way of establishing structure when he did not have it as a child.#Both approches are a way of saying 'I didn't have this and I wish I did.'#With LWJ it's pretty obvious why...but WWX? What is at your core? What is your regret towards a lack of restriction?#Or...What benefit do you think it gives this child to learn the harsh lessons of going without?#Did it make you strong when you were a child? Do you think it is just the nature of the world and we all must learn it?#How we interact with children is such a fascinating topic to delve into our psychology and neuroses.#In a more light hearted turn of topic:#WWX confirmed to be 'person taking the car to the drive through to order one black coffee for himself' on the triangle spectrum.#LWJ is saying 'we have food at home' as he is opening his wallet ready to order for everyone.#(Technically this is comic 213 but yippee! We are in the 200's now! Thank you all so much for reading and cheering me on!)

I sort of like the idea of Bruce accidentally adopting Damian. Something happened which caused Damian to run away from the league and towards his father, but all he knows is that is father is batman. Before he can ever find him though, he is taken in by Bruce Wayne.
Damian intended to just slip away the first chance he gets, but somehow his escape plans keep getting interrupted. Eventually he begins to like living with the Waynes so much he starts to consider simply not looking for batman. After all, his father never came for him before. And what proof does he have that batman is so great anyways? He might as well stay with the people who actually like having him around.
Damian assigns himself as the Wayne family's protector because these weak foolish people could certainly never defend themselves. After the third foiled kidnapping attempt Damian is sure he could never leave. They would all die without him. Frankly he is amazed the Wayne's behavior hasn't gotten them all killed yet.

Prompt 169
Danny is from a world where everyone has wings, even if most have long since lost the ability to fly. Something about loading and aspect ratio, wings being too small, body too heavy, now mostly used as display, whatever.
It doesn’t matter even if he had blueprints from when he was like six of a jetpack to help fly. It won’t work anyway and hey, he has his ghost form! Which uh, might be perhaps, affecting his wings which were maybe sort of scorched black and practically down to the bone thanks to the accident.
It doesn’t matter, he swears. Though he’s admittedly relieved to see the new feathers growing in are different from Dan’s angry sunset. Even if they’re not even supposed to be able to grow back. Alright, this is fine, no one is going to notice! It’s not like everyone knows about the poor Fenton kid whose wings were absolutely destroyed thanks to an accident! It’s fine.
He’s not flying in a half-panic towards the Far Frozen while crying because his wings are coming back and he’s so scared. He didn’t panic and instantly fled the moment Jazz pointed them out while changing the bandages.
He definitely didn’t trip over something while wiping away said tears and blacking out from all the stress and all of his problems that he definitely mentioned to someone and isn’t keeping a secret. Definitely.
Hawkwoman and Hawkman would like everyone to know that neither of them were expecting a very small child to be spat out of the villain of that week’s machine that should definitely not be a portal. A very small child, maybe nine or ten, with a multitude of concerning wounds both old and fresh. Which isn’t even beginning to touch on the wings.
Feathered, like baby down despite the gnarled scars, unlike their own metallic, with the beginning of tiny specklings like stars amidst the darker fuzz peeking from the wounded flesh.
Who?! Who dared?! It’s (at least to the forever reincarnating duo) a literal baby! They still have down! Tiny baby fuzz! Was it the portal?! Oh this villain is going to taste their maces for causing this if that’s the case!
The rest of the Justice League would honestly like to know what just happened and are honestly unsure on if they should stop the two…

the fact that irving canonically survives through the end of asunder to be at wynne's funeral is so fucking funny to me. nothing but love and respect for MY unstoppable cockroach morally grey machiavellian mage dad!!! he's survived in his position through multiple attempted rites of annulment and blood mage plots popping up left right and center around him. the chantry keeps trying to stamp him out but his dodge game is simply out of this world, divine. civil wars, political machinations and minefields, chantry atrocities, this wily old motherfucker is dodging and weaving his way through it all, not-quite-no-hits-taken-running-it-but-honestly-close-enough-under-the-circumstances style. if solas does succeed in tearing down the veil I would fully believe that one of the like three people still alive at the end of it all would be a very weary 90 year old first enchanter irving going 'oh this shit again huh'. the maker has cursed him for his hubris and his paperwork is never finished (affectionate, it's fine he canonically loves paperwork)
#we should have had the option to leave him in the fade instead of hawke or a warden#he would've just annoyedly shuffled his way back out of there a week later#dragon age#dragon age origins#first enchanter irving#he must be SO annoying to the chantry because it's heavily implied he's made his playground#out of tirelessly finding technicalities and loopholes to exploit that they can't *quite* call him on without domino effects going off#I think first enchanter in the circle system at origins times is a position that invariably and inevitably leaves you morally compromised#but I feel he really does his best within the rules he's given to play with and personally i love him a bit for that. and also#for being an unkillable lil shit. insufferable. inconquerable in his 'I'm about to be such an annoyance to you' impish spirit.#the I'm going to suffer but guess what. so are you of it all. traumatize the chantry back#I just imagine sophia sending letters home right before the vote for independence like '...dad I am hearing some INSANE rumours out here#what the actual fuck is going on back home???'#and he's like 'nothing that you need to worry about sweetie just keep living your best life and have fun killing darkspawn <3'#(there's something that makes me feel So much about how consistently his stance is like... 'you'll always be welcome here#but the circle doesn't *need* you; go be a warden and live your life'. he managed to fineagle freedom for you somehow and won't let you#turn and glance back. not even once. I feel somehow both so abandoned and so incredibly loved it's wild)#oc: sophia amell

Danny had everything under control! He did!
It's dark out, time ticking to zero, and he's desperately trying to hide the baby yeti along the shadows of the alleys.
He's so so dead. Even more than he is right now. Turning full ghost even.
When Frostbite finds out that he'd taken his eyes off Snowdrift for five seconds and ended up in the living realm with no preparation, very short notice, or plan, he will never trust Danny with babysitting again!
Oh ancients.
"Hey there— is that a yeti?"
Great, a hero.
Swirling around, Danny stands in front of Snowdrift, hiding their form barely, their fluff and form peeking from behind the legs.
"No—"
"Greetings! My name is Snowdrift!"
Danny glances at the yeti cub as they stand next to him.
"Snowdrift, this is a stranger danger situation, remember what I told you about those?"
The cub peers up at him, confused. "Name no name and call for Dad?"
The teen nods.
Snowdrift looks at the hero, and a light bulb goes off. They quickly slide back behind Danny's form, simply peeking from the side now, curious.
"You saw nothing." The halfa turns to the hero, grinning nervous yet threatening.
"I'm not sure this is how it goes—"

I find interesting how their Hamato Clan trauma affected both Splinters in nearly perfect opposite ways.
2012 Splinter lost his family thanks to the Shredder, because of Tang Shen and because of what the Hamato did against the Foot, Saki's original clan.
So he became overprotective of the turtles to the point of sheltering them and forbidding them to go topside (and interact with anyone else) for 15 years. He still trained them througly and thaught them all he knew, including how he got them in their Mutation Day.
Rise Splinter was so embittered to the Hamato Clan and their traditions that for sometime he rid himself of the Hamato Yoshi identity and keep most of his teachings (i do believe he thaught them some basic stuff) heritage and the origin of the turtles mutation in secret. But he also gave them more freedom to be kids and go topside, giving them the chance to interact with humans and the city.
And through both shows we come more into a balance, with 12 Splinter letting his kids explore and learn and Rise Splinter learning to get his shit together and be more attentive to his kids.
Both are just heavily traumatized men doing their best to raise 4 kids with little resources or support.

This art grew a story...
Roadsides
Billy Hargrove has only three things left in this world.
The car he drives, the clothes on his back, and the boy he loves sitting by his side at this dingy roadside diner.
It’s small, barely a trailer, which is good.
Smaller means less people.
“Once the waitress turns ‘round we bolt,” he whispers.
Steve turns around, watches the waitress top up some coffee at another table.
There are empty plates in front of them. Food they can’t afford.
They ate as much as they could. Shoved what’s left inside some Tupperware when no one was looking.
Billy knows the pain of hunger. Steve does too. Know the inside of diner trashcans and that these places can afford to miss a meal or two.
They sit near the exit. Shitty seats in winter. Cold winds whenever the door opens.
They’re cold too often these days.
It’s not a good life, stealing and conning. Not an honest life.
It’s the happiest Billy’s ever been.
“Go,” Billy whispers and Steve complies. He always does.
They sneak their way out. Don’t start running until the bell rings and the waitress turns around.
They’ve done this before. Many times. Billy’s got his keys ready and Steve’s fast. No license plate to track ‘cause they removed that shit before.
The Camaro is moving before Steve has the door closed.
“Thanks for the charity!” Billy yells. He laughs loudly, powered by the rapid beating of his heart and adrenaline running through his veins.
He’s driving fast on unlit roads.
Steve pulls the container from his backpack and gives it a good look. “Think this should last us a day.”
“Good job, baby.” He squeezes Steve’s thigh. Keeps his hand there as they drive.
He plays his music loud. It keeps him awake. He wants to get at least two hours between them and the diner before they rest for the night.
Leaning against the window, Steve’s breath makes clouds on glass.
He draws hearts on it. Always does. The window is littered with them. Stacked like bricks, like Steve is building houses out of love.
“Someday we’ll live there,” Steve will say at decaying roadside cabins.
He dreams of futures while Billy dreams of their next meal. They keep each other safe and sane.
Idealism and realism. One without the other makes the whole thing collapse.
Billy parks the car at an abandoned farm. Gets their toothbrushes from the trunk and squeezes toothpaste from a nearly empty tube.
They don’t have many rituals, but this is one of them.
“Bright night,” Billy remarks. Toothbrush in his mouth, he looks up at the night sky. Next to him, Steve does the same.
He never appreciated how bright stars shine in utter abandonment. Absence of city lights makes everything more vivid.
Some nights they can see the Milky Way stretch above them and they’ll look up, awestruck, with mint on their breath.
Steve spits, looks up again and finds the North Star.
It’s the one thing he does consistently, every night.
They’re driving nowhere. When Billy asks where Steve would like to go, his answers are always the same.
Away, west, towards the future.
It means anywhere but Hawkins, as long as they’re together.
They lay in their car, huddled under a thick wool blanket that does little to quell the cold.
The leather is hard and cold and the nights are freezing in Colorado.
Shared heat is all that keeps them warm. Keeps them alive, because this kinda cold can kill.
Steve traces Billy’s face. Draw hearts there too.
“I can barely feel the scar,” he remarks when he traces Billy’s eyebrow—a parting gift from his dad.
“Better every day.” He pulls Steve closer. Buries his nose in his hair and breathes in deep.
Steve dreams of futures and Billy dreams of stars. Dreams of total darkness and empty fields, where—utterly abandoned—they shine brightest.

Because I agonised for an hour or more this morning on how i would get groceries before 'allowing' myself to order them to be delivered:
You don't have to push yourself to your absolute limit constantly as a disabled person to prove you are worthy of care and support and recovery/improvement/symptom management. (I know this is a broad spectrum that varies for each person).
Abled people do strictly unnecessary things to make their lives easier all the time. You're allowed to do that too.
