The breeze of Michigan’s wind blew through the windows in the back of Quinn’s car, as the dulcet sound of country music flowing around you. Quinn was driving with Jack in the passenger, you and Luke banished to the back as the four of you indulged on a late night ice cream trip.

Nights like these weren’t frequent like they once been. You were two years Luke’s junior which meant you were able to watch your brothers move out and grow as hockey players, leaving you behind. With all three of your brothers hundreds of miles away from where you all grown up and you attending high school in Michigan, those nights became a rarity lost to time.

Due to the distance forced upon you and your brothers, hiding things from them became easy. Quinn and Jack had moved out five years ago, whilst Luke had moved out for college before joining Jack in Jersey, and you had come to discover some major changes about yourself.

As a teenager, sexuality was a topic heavily discussed. It all started with a game of spin the bottle between a group of your friends and a group of friends’ friends. When you’d spun the bottle, it had landed on a boy first, and when you kissed him, it felt like you needed to peel your lips off of your face and cleanse them. You’d thought that maybe it was just the fact you had no attraction to that boy in particular but as the bottle spun and you had to kiss two others, the feeling remained.

Then it had landed on a girl whom you rarely knew, but she was breathtaking. She was one of those people that felt like sunshine- warm and pleasant, and a vital being. The two of you had laughed and when you kissed her, you felt your heart flutter and your emotions swirl in a whirlwind of everything right.

Then you’d broken apart and the game continued and you were left drowning in the depths of your very sudden, very real realisation.

You liked girls and you liked them a lot.

In the weeks following that very moment, your world seemed so strange. Everything had remained the exact same as before but the way you experienced it seemed to differ.

Whilst you grappled with the concept of your sexuality, you struggled to maintain your regular day to day life. You pulled away from everyone, spending time on yourself and diving into endless TikToks and websites about it all.

It’s not like you were oblivious to what liking girls entailed, but a part of you dwelled on the loneliness that was beginning to set in.

All of your friends were straight, each one of them with a new crush weekly, able to rant, ramble and rave about their newest man.

Your friends were lovely people, but you found yourself terrified with the idea of telling them. Especially when it was all so fresh.

You’d gotten so used to cooping yourself up, withdrawing from revealing any information about your current life to your parents in fear that your little secret would come tumbling out.

Your parents had noticed your reluctance to talk to them. You were always somewhat of a chatterbox, talking to them about anything and everything, yet now you were quiet and less amicable.

But your brothers were home for the summer, filling all of the quiet gaps in your life that provided space for you to coop up, was now filled by the boisterous boys that loved to pester their younger sister.

“Hey, wake up. We’re here,” Luke shoved your shoulder, causing your unsuspecting body to jolt from its position against the car door. “I want ice cream.”

You rolled your eyes and flicked your finger into his forehead. You stifled a laugh as you rushed to hop out of the car, joining your other brothers before Luke could retaliate.

“So Mom says you’re not going to prom,” Quinn started, his voice a hum as he spooned ice cream into his mouth.

The three of you were sitting in the bed of the pickup truck belonging to your dad. After you’d bought the ice creams, Quinn had driven all of you to an overlook to park up and eat the ice creams in peace.

“Yeah…” you sighed, your body suddenly tensing at the direction of this conversation. Your fingers gripped the ice cream tub as you tried to act as nonchalant as possible. “I’m not.”

“What!” Jack whipped his head to face you, his eyes squinted. “But it’s prom! What did no boy ask you? You know you don’t have to have a date to go.”

His elbow nudged you as you lowered your cup, your appetite for ice cream decreasing rapidly.

“Yeah, what he said,” Luke mumbled through his mouthful of the sweet treat.

“I just don’t want to go,” You murmured, your head drooping praying to whatever phenomenon existed above that this conversation would end.

“But what about getting to dress up and have fun with friends?” Quinn asked, his eyebrows furrowing as he took in your downtrodden state. “Mom said she wanted to bring you dress shopping.”

The twisted turn in your stomach jerked at your eldest brother’s words, your lip trembling in frustration as he studied you. Usually Quinn wouldn’t push you to talk, allowing you to open up when you were ready…you didn’t like whatever person had replaced that Quinn.

“Prom is supposed to be fun,” Jack said pointedly, “Date or no date, you’ll enjoy yourself.

“It’s just a stupid dance,” you scoffed, getting fed up by the questions, your temper bubbling. Your brothers had no idea what bear they were poking as they prodded you with their queries and right now, all you wanted to do was go home. “Why can’t you just leave it?”

“Because you’ve wanted to go to prom for years, y/n/n,” Quinn’s voice softened, lowering his ice cream. “When we all went you were practically jumping with excitement for yours, what’s changed?”

You furrowed your brows, your eyes staring straight at your legs crossed ahead of you.

“Mom says you won’t talk to her, and dad won’t say it but he feels the exact same,” Your eldest brother continued, placing his ice cream down beside him as he scooted closer to you. “What’s going on?”

You glanced up, catching Luke and Jack staring at you, mouths full of ice cream and their eyes searching your fallen face.

“Nothing,” you began, swirling your melting ice cream, no longer interested in eating any more.

“Well that’s a lie,” Luke chortled, “you never shut up about anything. And for dad to notice?! Oh, you must’ve been quiet quiet.”

You cheeks burned in embarrassment as Luke spoke, you teeth sinking into the flesh of your inner cheek.

“Come on, y/n/n,” Jack added, “you know you want to tell us.”

Quinn’s voice lowered as he reached out to lightly touch your shoulder. "You know you can tell us anything, right?" He spoke, his eyes dropping to your fidgeting hands.

You bit your lip, the weight of their kindness pressing down on you. You had always been close with your brothers, but this was different. This was something you weren't sure they could understand. There was the ever present fear of rejection, the worry of disappointment and all of it swirled inside you, threatening to burst out if you didn’t keep it locked down.

But Quinn’s eyes were kind, Jack’s touch was comforting, and even Luke, with his goofy grin, looked genuinely concerned. They deserved to know. More importantly, you deserved to be honest with them.

"It's not that I don't want to go to prom," you began, your voice trembling slightly. "It's that I can't... because I don't want to go with a boy."

Silence fell over the truck bed, the only sound the distant hum of the town below and the occasional rustling of leaves surrounding you. Your heart pounded in your chest as you waited for their reactions, your breath held tight. Your head had dropped to your chest in fear of looking at their faces.

Jack was the first to speak, his voice uncharacteristically gentle. "Are you...?" He trailed off.

You nodded, feeling the tears prick at the corners of your eyes. "I like girls," you whispered, the words finally out in the open, a relief and a terror all at once. "I like them a lot…and I’m so scared. Scared of what Mom and Dad will think, what you guys will think...” your voice cracked as you blinked away your tears.

Quinn moved first, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulling you into a tight hug. "Hey, it's okay," he murmured, his voice steady. "We love you no matter what. You’re our sister, and nothing’s ever gonna change that."

Jack and Luke quickly joined the hug, their ice creams long forgotten. Jack's grip was firm, and Luke's was warm, their comfort enveloping you. You let out a shaky breath, the heavy weight on your chest lifting ever so slightly.

“Yeah, we’ve got you, y/n/n,” Jack’s lips quirked up as he ruffled your hair.

"Thank you," you whispered, your voice breaking. "Thank you for understanding."

"We're family, stupid," Luke said simply, a grin spreading across his face as he teased. "Now, can we finish these ice creams before they melt?"

just thinking about how you’re a social media manager for a new hockey expansion team. johnny and simon — who grew up playing hockey together — both got drafted to the pros but have never played on a team together before. they’re both selected for this new franchise — the first time they’ve played together since they were kids.

simon is a defenseman. big, hulking — he’s the guy that's going to initiate fights with the players that are picking on his teammates. you aren’t going to get away with a dirty hit when he's around — he will retaliate. he will dish out a big clean hit when they think they’re safe. especially if it’s johnny. he’s the team enforcer, but still a talented defenseman.

johnny is your center star. he’s wicked fast on the ice, and is always showing off with plays you think are near impossible. he’s surprisingly humble — giving credit where credits due, passing to his teammates when they’re open instead of taking a wild shot himself. he’s the chatty one, always talking up the press during intermission and after the games over.

(and ofc we have gaz as a winger and price as the old goaltender close to retirement, who just can’t give up the game yet)

you were hired with a batch of social media managers in order to promote this new team to the locals. you want to attract season ticket holders. you want people excited for the upcoming season. you want people to meet their players — even though most of them have a history on the ice.

you’re really good at your job. your main job is keeping up with the videos and pictures of the team and players — creating the content that gets posted. your coworkers laswell responds to the fan tweets and comments — she’s got more of a knack for that, where you have the creative eye.

part of your job is getting to know the players and getting them to open up to you on camera, especially when you’re recording. you have them follow along to the latest tiktok trends, record practice sessions and even what time everyone shows up to the arena (simon is early, price is right on time, gaz and johnny are running late). normally your job would be staying on home ice — not following the team when they’re away — but to keep up with content the owners request you specifically go along. it’s been a total hit online and tickets are selling like hotcakes.

you start to really get to know the team — you fly with them and stay in the same hotels. you’re with them at every practice. they start requesting you be the dj at practice even. it helps loosen them up. you get great content. you joke with them. you even stand at the bench during games. (content content content)

johnny of course chats you up first. he's easily to film and he’s your star. he’s the one generating the views and likes and hearts and comments. he’s the one everyone’s excited to see. he’s the first to jump on a new trend you want to film and he’ll encourage everyone to do the same. he’s the only reason that you get simon to be on camera. (and he still won’t go on camera much, rather you have to get shots of him on the ice)

they do their best to include you in everything, but especially when they’re at an away game. if the boys are going out for dinner, johnny will make simon knock on your hotel room door and convince you to join. (you don’t take a lot of convincing, however johnny has to pour simon a stiff bourbon to work up the courage to go ask you). you’re included in celebrations when the team wins. they drag you to one of the guy’s houses for a private dinner and drinks.

johnny and simon start to separately invite you to things — just the two of them. it’ll start off as johnny acting like he has a great new idea for content. he and simon did grow up together, they are best friends. they could have a great little segment together.

but it turns into more. they sit on either side of you. johnny brushes a hand against your thigh and rests it there. simon has an arm on the back of your chair, always keeping his body in the way of any potential threats. always keeping you safe. their sweet little puck slut princess. their hands are all over you by the end of the night.

they take you to a shared hotel room — after all it would be irresponsible for any of your to drive home. and johnny and simon share everything. they’re happy to share a room.

they’re happy to share you.

also, re:this post, i've noticed another worrying trend on tiktok of people filming their "narcissistic partner" (the only reason it's in quotations is because usually the person in question doesn't even have npd and the person has armchair diagnosed their partner with it) in the midst of what they incorrectly designate as a narcissistic rage and posting it to tiktok apparently to spread awareness when really it's just a socially acceptable way to victimise people.

first there's the question of how it's a gross invasion of that persons privacy, second of all why do you feel vindicated in filming your partner if they're triggered to the point of going into a "narcissistic rage", and then upload it to tiktok for the whole world to see? i've seen vids where the so called 'narcissistic ex/partner' is on the floor wailing and visibly in distress and nobody sees an issue??

it's strange how it's just socially acceptable to film somebody who is triggered and upload it to the internet for other people to laugh at like. you're the exact same genre of ableist as those moms who have autistic kids who record their child's meltdown and then uploads it to tiktok for asspats from other ableist dipshits. it's the exact same thing.

how can you film a mentally ill person's breakdown and then still think you're the one in the right? the video is always like "this is the side of narcissistic abuse you don't see... feel sowwy for me 🥺🥺🥺" and it's literally a video of what's very likely to be a trauma victim in distress and having a breakdown.

Simply because they are both moth demon's that speak Spanish. It's a bit too specific. And rlly that's kind of all I have right now. Sure, you could say "erm actually, Vaggie isn't a moth demon 🤓" and ur probably right. But if she's not, why is it that in her redesign for the show they lean into the moth hair? It's look much MUCH more moth than in the pilot. So if Viv wanted to stray away from the moth theme, why make it look more like that? She may not he exactly a moth demon but she does have intentional moth features. Perhaps Vaggie just disguised herself like that, either way, still a connection..

I would get it if one of them were in helluva boss jst as a way to recycle and make room or whatever. But no, they are in the same show, same world, same ring of hell, same city(I think). It's a weird connection and I kind of don't want it to exist. Like at all. Because if they are connected I can't think of any other way they are except that Val could be a fallen angel. Which I CANT imagine. Unless Vaggie is like, a winner that became an exterminator, but genuinely that would be a bit complex. But what isn't in this show. Personality wise, they both have anger issues. Pilot Vaggie and show Valentino are more alike but show Vaggie is still somewhat spicy. They also both have hot voices, sorry not sorry, like fuck Val (not literally) but his voice is BAZINGA 😍 and I'm a simp for Stephanie Beatriz. I'm a simple gal.

Design wise they have rare commonalities. They are both heavily red but thats everyone in the show it make my eyes bleed. But. A weird thing someone pointed out in a slideshow on tiktok is that show Valentino has white stripes on his hips. Me personally I'm not sure what to think about it really. Like I mean it IS a new detail that spawned AFTER the pilot and it is like... on the EXACT place. But like, it's such a weird thing to include when it's such a common pose yknow?

Also the X's on the boobs are so sensual I cannot be the only one. And ykno Val is the king of sensual (🤮)

Maybe you could be asking, "if Val and Vaggie r connected jst because they are moth demons then that jst means that anyone that are the same species are somehow tied to eachother huh? 🤓" like Angel Dust and Zestial. But what I think differs from that is the fact these two have actual big similarities apart from jst the fact they are moths. Like what I just explained, personality, design, both speak Spanish. While Angel Dust and Zestial are only just both spiders. Angel's reason for being a spider is due to the ykno, "web of crime" thing. And Zesty man? Plus this fits Vaggie so. SO much. If my theory that Vaggie just disguised herself as a moth to blend in then that would be a good connection to the entire moth motif. Love, I don't even need to explain.

It can fit Val too if you think abt the disguise part a bit. Like he disguises himself as this charming and calming figure to avoid suspicion and lure victims... fucking creepy 🤮

Here is like. ONE image I could find that wasn't too blurry. Like I wouldn't say it's heavy moth but I think if you asked me what insect she was based off I would guess moth in like a few minutes. From what I know there aren't any previous old beta designs of Valentino, so he was likely made for the show specifically.

Overall, they are both sexy Spanish speakers who are moth demons, in the same show, oddly specific connected design choices, and have some anger issues.

I love your art so much!! It's inspiring me to get back into pixel art (I gave up quickly). A huge problem I had was I didn't know what size was best to set my canvas for specific projects. I always ended up overestimating and making it too big and then it looked less like pixel art and more like grainy digital art. Do you have a rough guide you stick to for landscapes/bedrooms/cities VS. things like animals and characters?

aw thank you i'm happy to hear that! i hope u stick with it ♥

with landscapes/bedrooms/cities i use 275x155. this provides a fair amount of detail while still keeping it pixely, plus it resizes to wallpaper size. for vertical i just reverse it at 155x275.

i've also recently started to use 215x215 (same amount of pixels as above) so that i can resize my art to easily fit both wallpapers, and mobile videos... since tiktok and instagram reels are everything nowadays 😒

for characters and animals, generally i will base the size of the canvas around how i stylize eyes.

so i'll draw the eyes first, then just draw everything else around that.

i also have a smaller resolution style with 2px dot eyes that i use for adding characters to landscapes, since my landscape resolution is too small for my regular style unless the character is close to the screen.

You know that Sakura blushes whenever he has close contact with someone , so when you go out to the mall , you grab his hand and interlock your fingers with his. This is a must do for a couples on a date. And Sakura's face turned red the moment you guys entered the mall and even his ears are flushed red , and his eyes were wandering around.

While quietly waiting to step on the elevator , you quietly let go of his hand.

ANYWAY ok so i saw a tiktok last night that was the rising signs and their appearance and Ofc they said cancers often have very soft, rounded features "like the full moon" and generally have very prominent chests and my spindly ass is watching that shit like No.

SO what do cancer placements actually look like!!! Bc i actually went thru the comments and saw a lot of cancer risings not relating and im like OK so it's not just me-

first off, i see ppl saying cancer risings look different compared to cancer suns or other placements and i have never noticed this myself. im not entirely sure why a rising placement would look different from a sun placement but what do i know i could just be an idiot-

ANYWAY-

in my experience, both personal and observational, cancers tend to be very lanky and spindly people-

they might have Slightly softer facial features but not without definition.

being their sister sign, ive noticed heavy capricorn placements tend to have jawlines of the gods, and so do cancers usually, just in a slightly different way.

capricorn bone structures generally look very <. Like very sharp and strong as if they have like no tissue on top of their bones and it's just skull and skin kinda- Cancer bone structures look very???? Not ) but like if < was a just Slightly more rounded- they have more muscle definition in their faces rather than bone definition if that makes sense.

one such being that most spiders are Very Spindly!!!!! they're 90% limbs!!! and the cancer placements that i know are Usually also 90% limbs, there being some exceptions ofc as always-

me personally ive always been extremely tall and lanky, i am indeed 99% limbs and for a while until i gained more muscle, looked malnourished 💔 (someone accused me of having anorexia at one point, that's a story for another day tho- i do actually have an eating disorder but not anorexia)

this could also be because im extremely mercury dominant but ive seen people say that mercurians are Short which makes absolutely NO sense to me at all- ill do a post on that at some point 💔💔

but i also consider cancers to be neptune ruled instead of moon ruled, and to me, neptunians would be very spindly.

all this to say that in my experience, cancers are not rounded or large chested, they tend to be very lanky, small-chested actually, potentially tall, and have very defined eyes for some reason or another-

in my case i have the most dark purple bags under my eyes you will ever see in your entire life (i got a sleep disorder that makes me legitimately nocturnal 🙏😔), and you can see like every emotion im experiencing in my eyes very easily IF u know me well enough (which my mom is the only one who can genuinely see everything)

i also have a REAL bad case of resting bitch face AND crazy eyes, which the crazy eyes i think are boosted by my mars conjunct asc and my uranus trine asc 🙏🙏🙏

one thing the tiktok said though that did make sense a little was "cancers are usually the spitting image of their mother, like copy + paste"

i dont think it's just the mother i think it's whichever parent you're closest to, but i Am a direct copy paste of my mom in both appearance and everything else tbh- and she's a cap rising + aries sun/mercury/venus- and we both have mars in cancer, but that's her only cancer placement so 🤔

001: Angler Fish, the cigarette and disappearance one. Not very memorable. 5/10

002: Do Not Open, the will power this one man contains is greater than God, i swear. I probably would have opened that coffin tbh. 10/10

003: Across the Street, to be Grahm or Not to be Grahm, that is the question. Eating paper is not really my thing but you do you. 8/10

004: Page Turner, kinda boring to me but it introduces important people. 4/10

005: Thrown Away, it reminds me of that one short FNAF story where the girl finds her real body cut up in garbage bags. I liked this episode. 9/10

006: Squirm, I have no memory of this episode. 2/10

007: The Piper, All i remember is rats, a dead dude in a dumb ditch, and The Great War. It was a good read tho. 4/10

008: Burned Out, There was a Spooky Tree, an apple, and a box ( i think it had a necklace in it??). There is also the religious dude— i think hes also the jesuit dude that killed two people in a later episode but i could be wrong. 5/10

009: A Fathers Love, this one was so sad to me ngl. I have two questions: What happened to the mother (i know she died but theres gotta be more)? and also whats the necklace all about ( i might be crazy but wasn’t it in the box in burned out?)? I do think the dad is somehow innocent, like he was possessed or smth. 10/10

010: Vampire Killer, this was a cool, fun episode and I enjoyed the different approach to Vampires. 9/10

011: Dreamer, We hear some new stuff about what happened to Jon’s predecessor, outside of that its an ok episode. Elias is mentioned. 5/10

012: First Aid, don’t remember this episode at all but i looked at the episode tag on here and Gerry is in it so on principle it gets a 5/10

013: Alone, my mind is so blank about this episode. Jon was nice tho. 2/10

014: Piecemeal, i don’t remember it well but Tumblr tells me it was good. 5/10

015: Lost Johns’ Cave, this reminded me of those tiktok videos about idiots who get stuck in caves. But at the same time this episode was deeply unsettling and sad. 10/10

019: Confession and 020: Desecrated Host, putting these two together. Why is there such a strong theme of cannibalism and removal of body parts in this podcast? It was really interesting and well written. 8/10

022: Colony, MARTIN!!! A real character! He is a sweet innocent baby who can do no wrong. The episode itself was super unsettling. Who is the woman again tho?

023: Schwartzwald, this was boring, sorry. I know i should have found it more interesting cause its a letter for Jonah Magnus but it just wasn’t appealing to me. 2/10

024: Strange Music, I love the aesthetic of Pipe Organs, always have. (Why is it now in the institute?!?!) the creepy dolls and the circus clowns were cool. I love that the movers came back again, kinda odd but thats expected. 10/10

025: Growing Dark, not too memorable but there is now another missing person. (Yay). 4/10

026: A Distortion, SASHA!!! Another Real Character! Nothing had better happen to Jon or Martin or else. I love them too much. Micheal seems interesting too. 8/10

027: A Sturdy Lock, the first episode I listened to while reading the transcript. Is there or is there not a lock on that door? Bro should invest in a pet tho. Average episode but still good. 7/10

028: Skin Tight, wasn’t Cambridge Military Hospital in another episode? Also who is the archivist? The voice ( im listening and reading ) is different from Jon’s and is not female so not Gertrude. Sarah Baldwin is also a familiar name. Skin peeling. Lovely. (Sarcasm) 10/10

029: Cheating Death, reminds me of 007. I think its neat that the person making the statement had the Institute write it for him. This was a cool story. I like how much of it was a folktale and then it took a turn. 10/10

I just read something about some fanfic readers on TikTok, mostly younger ones, are against AO3 because it doesn't recommend fic to them. As in, it doesn't track them and auto-feed them content using an algorithm.

I am sure it's not every younger fanfiction-reading nerd. But....

The generational divide between old internet and new internet users is so stark sometimes. Like. That younger people don't remember the individual fanfiction websites days... okay. I get that. Some of them weren't even born and time is time and it moves on. It's fine.

But to grow up with an internet where you do not get a choice, or not much of a choice, except to be fed content? Oh wow that's a yikes I've never thought about before.

Yeah, there's some filter capabilities but companies override that all the time with subtle little changes. Youtube recommends stuff constantly (often conservative videos even to me who has no history of watching or liking that shit). Twitter and Facebook got rid of chronological posts and even when you try to get rid of suggested posts, they come back. Instagram is basically all ads now. And then TikTok literally doesn't even ask you to search (and as I recall, their search function sucks), and you can like videos to change what you see *a little* but ultimately the algorithm will lead you wherever it wants.

That's so sad to grow up with that. Choice and searching and relying on your judgment and the recommendations of people you like... those are good things.

I am not like "oh those youths!" here. I am "fuck these corporations!" here. Look at this shit. It's not a rec list from someone you like and trust--it's what corporate has decided you should like. And a lot of these kids have not known anything else. That's scary and infuriating.
