I feel like we don't talk about the fact that Peter and Flash didn't really have a typical "bully/victim" relationship, but more of a "jock asshole on nerd asshole violence" type, where they were more equal in the sense they both insulted the other one, where Flash basicly called him a loney bookworm loser and Peter called him an idiot like 50 different ways. They even kinda paralel each other in the sense that Peter is a self-isolating asshole nerd with an ego, while Flash is a popular and social muscle man.

I still remember my shock at Peter and Flash having a fucking boxing match in issue 8, or that time Peter jumper Flash and tried to rip him open like the gift-wrapping on his new chemistry set.

i think there's a balance of powers you have to take into account here - in that, yeah, at the point you're looking at, eight issues in - peter didn't take flash as a threat to him anymore because he knows full well that he could crush flash thompson in his palm like a can of dr pepper.

that wasn't always the case and we don't really get to see a lot of what their dynamic was like, pre-spider-bite. but yeah - the fact that, actually, peter is physically more powerful than flash and, post-spider-bite was in a more cocky mindset means that yeah. they don't have your classical bully/victim relationship. peter can't really be a victim. he could break flash's arms like little toothpicks. but that's not to say anything about their relationship prior to that dynamic shift.

i think the elation to finally be able to actually cut flash down to size and not have him be a threat anymore might've felt great to pete. i kind of seriously doubt he was half as sassy in his sad little bookworm state.

i'm kind of just - not about flash. yeah, i know peter and flash are both jerks to each other but - i still see flash as a bully figure. that's definitely what he's intended to be, initially. and no matter what justification there is - even the weird argument that somehow peter brought it upon himself - god. i'm just not about it.

no matter what anyone outside of this dynamic says - peter definitely did see flash as a bully. and that's kind of all that matters to me.

(a second batman x venom crossover. i mean, they just kinda keep having similiar themes all around, an' with two my fav halloween freaks. i cannot just pass this chance, haha.

either way, jon n' jack havin' a swell time as you can see. they're at the bottom of the food chain quite literally. poor twinky ghouls are about to become a dinner in more ways, than one. how unfortunate for them! but what a feast for a nosferatu n' alien parasite. one drinks 🩸, the other love eatin' human 🧠, so it's no biggie that both jon an' jack are scrawny an' undernourished. their predators aren't after their meat or limited fat. they are after more individual body parts an' components.

so yes, this is my halloween 'special' thingy! a conjoined mash-up about big bad predator an' their twangy, evil prey. the sort of dynamic, that both pairs had going on at one point or another. less so 'canically' for scarebat, since that series of comics *where batman was a savage vampire* is technically a separate 'what if' reality. but still, jon n' jack had a very real brush with smth, that is way stronger than them. an' only one made it out alive, but oh well, this is what AUs n' other stuff is for. bc how about no, an' how about some more homoerotic take on those scenes? like, it was 'hot' to me in some ways. esp with words like 'territorial dispute' an' implication of batman givin' scarecrow good ole vampire succ, post morten or not.

i honestly always amazed, when the comics does smth very servicing for my tastes / interests, without actually ever tryin' to pander to people like me. it's prob one of the most 'erotic' things to me as to an author. it's like a possible wink wink to someone, who wants to see it. but generally, just a part of the story. not even a big one, but that's just a tasty bit anyways! i always had a weakness to predator/prey thrope, esp when it's less of fluffy, twinlight kind of romance, but instead a gore-ish sort of deal, where one party can end up actually dying even if by pure accident. it provides some pretty big stakes. not to meantion, that there is always an unspoken paralell between sex n' death in horror genre. including consuming / stabbing / sucking blood an' such. it's important for me as horror movies fan. i like there to be some 'love' in my horror, even if it's not traditional or on the nose. it gives all those exederated gore-y / deadly scenes more meaning, if one wants to impliment it there. an' it just makes for a memorable scene as well.

also while i'm not super into the heroes 'turnin' bad' stuff, in this case, there is an appeal of flash / bruce going feral. it's hard to resist the playful thought about how bruce n' flash find their foe tempting, *iresistably attractive*, but in a different manner now. jack n' jon aren't no rosy maiden, who usually gets the spot of main dish / love interest, but this what makes it even better. jon an' jack are walking ginger bread, an' that's that, really. but tbf, they're kind of weirdos, who would always partly dig it. their handsome, brooding *arch*-enemy wants to eat them an' not some random hussie. that's very scary, an' also sexy lol.

still it's one of those moments in comics, where i wish that they kept the secenes going for a bit longer. just expanded on that suggestive possibility of them taking it step futher. but i also get why they didn't drag it out, cuz it wasn't the point of issue, anyways. just some lil fun moment. tho, i do love how batman *out of his mind or not* seemed to have enough mercy on crane to kill him off relativly quickly compared to the others. the riddler, pen-pen *yeah, i call oswald this* n' ivy had to suffer through the whole overdeal with full awarness, feeling their throats being ripped out, as they were still alive. jon was spared of such fate. the bat came, lectured him, broke his hand an' beheaded him. way quicker vs when you have to feel your meat and blood dripping all over ya. an' in venom's case, i loved how jack was so oddly forgiving of flash nearly decapitating him on the spot lol. flash *at that point* had already ate a fella or two. like bruce, he clearly wasn't proud of those times or enjoyd it, but out of all people, who managed to snap him out of the murder mode, it was jack. but hey, not on my watch! no one will die, but someone will be 'consumed', alright. that's just natural order of things or whatever. an' it's so bc i do make all the rules, haha.

as for more technical side of things, i did altered a few things. mainly with flash n' jack. i made flash's berserk venom form smalles an' all black, bc of well...uh, reasons. and also jack has an actual face here lol. also while at first, i wanted to draw him with his trade-mark messed up features, but kinda end up drawing him all 'dolled up' instead lol. so i suppose, along with all other au-ish elements, his face wasn't blown off in this universe either. an' on somewhat unrelated note, i like how both jack *even some of spiderman's ones* and jonathan are usually shown to be brunette or redhead. my pref will always be with those two being redheads, but still, it's a funny thing to ponder on. another technical bit is that, i wanted both jack n' jon being unable to use their hands / arms in one of the picture, since for me it's like snaring a 'prey' and then, they are kinda useless without it too. jon can land one hell of a kick for sure, but it won't help him to push away the vampire from his neck. also no fear gas to spray from his gloves, even if it would have acomplished nothing. in jack's case, it's similiar situation. he can throw / shoot lil flames from his gloves, the only thing that all symbiotes seem to detaste, besides specific levels of noise. but if he can't do it, and it's too risky to shoot flame from his helmet, welp, he's screwed lol. an' i also wanted to use venom's tongue as bondage tool lol. it was one of those things, that i always loved about venom symbiote / carnage looks an' anatomy, is how 'bendy' their bodies are. an' how creepy they can strech their body parts as well. both, bruce n' flash possess superhuman powers in this, so nor jon nor jack is actually a match for them. but taking away even the last of their defenses is a cherry on the top. jonathan is already always spooked animal, an' with someone as dumbly tunel-visioned as jack, it take a tad more to scare him shitless. esp bc he thinks, that he's such hot shit of a mercenary, haha.

so yups, this year batman n' flash got a treat. jack and' jonathan *in comparison* got tentacles and anemia respectively. can this count as trick? i mean, i guess lol. but on bright side, jonathan is kinda bruce's bf / blood bank in this one, an' jack is....well, he's a bitch. i mean, he touched the toxin, so now flash have to 'mark' him lol.

Tim who was always more of a fan of Dick than Jason-

Dick was his original muse, the picture perfect person who quickly became an almost untouchable idol. Unreachable outside the snap shot moments in a paralell roof hutch as his lense managed to capture a glimpse in an otherwise empty foggy night.

The odds were stacked against Jason in the start for Tim liking him- not only was he not Dick- but he was just some kid. He didn't NOT like Jason, but.. it wasn't the same.

So he took a break- focused on some other hobbies and let his camera collect dust tucked alongside the dozens of picture binders hidden under the far side of his bed. Under the floorboard he'd managed to half pry out in the slim chance his parents ever bothered to "parent" enough to enter his room more than once a year unannounced.

It wasn't a big deal. At least- until he stood on the edge of the hallowed dirt, his eyes forced to bare the weight of the scene in front of him. Of the grave of some kid- a kid who adored the mask, and a kid who paid the price of getting to taste the spotlight.

He was there when Bruce was at his lowest, when Dick was still far too far away, and Alfred was no more help to himself than Bruce.

Tim on his hands and knees, stretching in a practiced motion to pop out that board and drag the binders out from his own personal cave. One by one, until his bed was covered in albums.

He was on a mission. And this one was for Tim, not Robin. A chance to give to Bruce beyond the forced mentorship he thrust upon the man to keep him around.

Thousands of nights, in thousands more moments forever recorded by his own hands. Snapshots of memories he could now share-

But as he sat there, his floor now littered with opened binders surrounding him in a jagged spiral. It felt like mourning all over again- because there was so little.

He had pictures- of course he did. But out of the thousands, there were so few.

Even more knowing the millions of moments he missed, the nights he knew about through half whispers and broken cries. All lost because what? Tim had taken a break- not knowing just how precious those moments would become.

In the end- he made a new binder, a small red one, filled with the dozens of what he had. He didn't ever show it to Bruce, too ashamed of what wasn't there to feel anything but guilt for what was.

That little red binder remained in that dark hiding spot, gathering dust. Tim had vowed never to touch it again, unable to deal with the seeing the empty pages that he knew would never be filled.

Of course- until he'd seen those flashes of red, the tension that filled the cave as Bruce insisted on Tim taking a break from Robin- to go to the Titan tower for his own good for now.

He figured out the truth pretty quickly- that kid he never really knew was back, and back with a rage none of them could truly understand. A rage directed at Tim as the new face in the spotlight.

Jason was back, Tim wouldn't allow another moment to slip through his grasp.

There was no avoiding the tower for now, but given the little time he had to pack- Tim made sure to pack that little red binder.

And one day, he hoped he'd need another

Jason, looking at the photos Tim took years ago: Why is there a period of time where you stopped taking photos of Batman?

Jason, staring at the photos: Wait... Why is the period where I started being Robin the one with the least photos?

Tim, looking at the photos of the original Dynamic Duo: Huh? Ah, because it was the period when Dick left Gotham City.

Jason: You didn't care about Batman anymore because Dick wasn't there?

Tim, shrugging: I still cared about Batman, but with Dick gone, well...

Tim: No offense, but I kinda lost interest when you turned into Robin.

The cw multiverse was crazy. I love multiverses and multiverse theory but jesus christ dudette what the fck was that. Like... crisis on infinite earths is crazy. And i feel like the impacts of that event were never fully explored?? I mean. New universes. A bunch of multiverses pressed together into a new prime earth. What does that even mean?? Everyone died and was reborn but were the reborn versions the same as the original versions? Obviously not as all the wellses end up inside one wells. What does that mean for all the other alternative universe versions of the characters? How many deaths were just ignored? And why some characters who only existed in a paralel universe (like Supergirl) now exist in earth prime, but others (like jessie quick) don't?? The writers did not think this through.

Oh Black Lightning was great. The lead actor is super hot.

It's okay, i wasn't like traumatized or anything. I mean the first time my teacher froze and started crying and praying and wouldn't move so i, as the oldest kid in class, and also the only one other than the teacher who knew the protocols, had to take charge and keep my classmates safe and calm. I barricated the door, told everyone to move to the back of the class, and we just waited until the shooter was gone. I was pretty calm because i'd tutored the shooter the year prior, we were boys, so i knew he wouldn't shoot me. The second time was more stressful. I'd made a deal with my mom that i'd go back and finish high school if she went back and finished it too, so because of me she was also at the school during the shooting, so instead of barricading in place I grabbed a chair and left the classroom to stop the shooter before he could get to her. Thankfully i did not find him or i'd be ✨dead✨.

And oh that sounds like a great episode! I'm gonna look for it.

damn, you just reminded me of so much cw superhero lore that i’d completely forgotten about, probably bc it was so out of pocket 😂 i feel like the multiverse episodes went nowhere essentially and definitely didn’t add to/make sense with the overall plots of the series separately like you said. it was like they wanted to get them all together like an avengers things but had no idea what they were doing or how to do any follow through. completely forgot about the wells thing. i think that was part of why the flash got annoying. they recycled that plot line way too many times, amongst others. they were just a disaster altogether, kind of like the shows themselves lol. i knew the black lightning actor from something else and really liked him, but was trying to get away from the superhero shows at that point lol.

The thing that always gets me about the Spider-Man stuff is that the comics have most/all of the stuff that ML is trying and failing to pull off? Lore. Romance. Identity shenanigans. An ensemble cast of well rounded supporting characters. Meaningful relationships. Plucky, creative, and intelligent protagonist. Black cat themed love interest. Melding slice of life with overarching storylines. The Flash is also really good for all of that (especially if you're more into the cosmic/supernatural elements) except the black cat themed love interest. Just read comics. Plus some of the AUs I've seen for Miraculous (like yours lmao) are so much better than canon. Again, usually in a comic format. I apologize for telling people to read

The team dynamics in this are truly stellar and the memory flashes ala Breath of the Wild get u right where it counts. There’s a haunted energy around the whole thing that’s like...bittersweet, much like Breath of the Wild, obviously. Seeing them all interact in the memories Yang is trying to piece together makes me happy.

Personally i find Emerald to be a particularly wonderful highlight, she’s a little shit and i love her a lot.

The way the worlds are tied together is truly a masterpiece if i do say so myself. Nothing about the liberties taken with either property seem forced or out of place, it feels cohesive and melding two different worlds like that can be very challenging! It works remarkably well

Yang/Blake/Adam as Link/Zelda/Ganon is a paralell ive made posts about myself in the past because it really just feels RIGHT. It FITS as a theme across bumbleby aus and it fits as HELL when actually put into practice in a Zelda au.

I don’t wanna spoil anything so i’ll leave it at this, a nice disjointed, stream of consciousness lmao, i was gonna re-read this week but time got away from me, but its one i keep coming back to because i love the world building so much and I especially enjoy the character interactions. And Yang as Link is just truly inspired

I would say....that I recommend that you are at least familiar with Breath of the Wild before reading this one. I wouldn’t say you NEED to be, I believe it can stand on its own, but knowing the Zelda half is beneficial just to avoid confusion

Imagine the number of things Ruben could do, and his potential to destroy. He has everything Stitch has, which means:

He can carry 3000x his own weight, drive, hotwire cars, see in the dark, is bulletproof, fireproof, shock proof and indestructible, and has retractable arms. Stitch can speak English among other languages, , understand basic chemistry, move by rolling into a ball, drive vehicles and fly planes, think faster than a supercomputer, climb walls and has paralell learning, which means he functions like a flash drive. He has superhuman strenght, speed, stamina, endurance, semi-immortality, infrared and X ray vision, enhanced hearing and smell, and can act like a audio amplifier. He is also a skilled hand to hand combatant and marksman.

He is part of an evil crew trying to capture experiments, which could make him all the more dangerous.

And he uses all this to.....

Entertain a large shark captain and eat sandwitches. He isn't even interested in evil. Just sandwitches.

Stitch is about as funny, because he is just managing the expectations of one 7 year old Hawaiian kid, and sometimes punches another 7 year old that is mean to her.

Imagine if the CIA or NSA or Mossad or KGB found out that aliens are real, a threat, and live under the protection of a 7 year old Hawaiian girl.

the queer party event today is called “holy rainbow night” a pun for the christmas song “oh holy night” which we know is “oh helga natt” in norwegian

since the trailer dropped, people have been making comparisons between matteo and isi, not necessarily as mains but more as how similar their trailers were (flashing matteo/ismail in yellow and black, quotes/phrases on screen, trailer literally being clips of characters from previous season talking about matteo/ismail)

the gig starts at nine which gives them the opportunity to do an ohn paralell/21:21.

the best (unrealistic) scenario: Darius gets character development and has a scene that centers on his backstory; he interacts not only with the characters who are already connected to him, but also with a character like Luz/Camila/Willow regarding their paralells. Plays active supporting role in the plot.

the best (realistic) scenario: Darius has a scene that is important to his characterization, and a meaningful interaction with Hunter, or Raine and Eber; has a role in defeating Belos, even if just planning

the good scenario: Darius gets a couple meaningful interactions with other characters, even if there is no big conclusion to his own arc; participates in the plot to the same extent as King's Tide. If there is a flash-forward at the end of the final special/ending credits there is a shot of him showing his progression as a character.

the neutral scenario: Darius' interactions with others are in the background, but are present. Plays some visible role in the plot. Stays in character.

the bad scenario(s): no interactions with the characters he should have connections with. His role and involment in the plot are at the same level as someone like the BATTS kids, or only to serve as comic relief/being 'mean'/shown as unreasonable and getting lectured by the likes of Lilith or Alador. Alternatively, he needs to get resqued in the beginning, and then fades into the background, until maybe appearing as a cameo in the very end.

the worst ending (but the fandom would love it, yikes): has like one scene with Hunter, then dies protecting Hunter, the scene is sad for 30 minutes, then no one remembers it again.

I like to think the writers are competent enough to not kill him off and I despise the theory that he'll sacrifice himself for Hunter, but the general fear and danger of Hunter overshadowing him is real.

I've been out of the loop a bit about SCs activities post series finale but I see that they're back once again plagiarizing other canon relationships from the Arrowverse. Let's do a headcount to see if I got it right: with Arrow the hanged on Olicity (yuck) to use the food = parallel. In The Flash they pretty much use as a crutch WestAllen's devotion to each other as another parallel. With Batwoman they used Kate's note where she told Sophie she was Batwoman as, somehow, another parallel. 1/2

And the only one left is Clois which they plagiarize from all live action content as they can, be it the Richard Donner movies + Superman Returns, Smallville and the DCEU movies with Henry Cavill Amy Adams. But they got such hatred for Superman & Lois for "canceling SG" that I am not sure they've bothered yet to steal their moments yet. That just leaves Avalance (canon wIw ship) and Black Lightning (we know why they don't bother here). Funny they haven't stole from Stargirl yet. Their loss...2/2

And still none of this ship tortured each other and hurt every way imaginable. Every villain did that to the main hero, so boo hoo, craps, make parallels to that.

Also the fact is that parallels are for fun and don't mean a shit. Basically, the less paralells a ship have the better. That means the ship is original and fresh, but craps are not ready for this conversation.

I don't understand why everyone keep saying that Barchie is over after 4x18. Let me explain why it's not ending, it's just beginning.

ARCHIE FINALLY ADMITED HIS FEELINGS

Let's start this off with my main point here. This show is centered around Archie. It is based on the Archie comics after all, and like it or not this show is mainly telling Archie's story. It began with him seeing Betty as his best friend, as he had for so many years. I feel like her confession of her feelings took him by surprise in 1x01 and he was still so young. He had her on this pedestal of being perfect and never felt good enough. And although he turned Betty down, he has never once spoke the words that he didn't love her. But now...oh boy have things made a 360. Now it's Archie who is falling for Betty because he has come to see who she really is, and that she's not so perfect after all. And that it's okay she's not. This is the moment we have been waiting for all four season. For Archie to actually show how much he loves her, and now he is. I think that's a HUGE step forward for them.

THE FLASHBACKS

Tell me, why would they go through the trouble of this for this entire episode if it doesn't matter. I believe one reason they did the flash backs is because it's a case against what Cheryl said. "Your in love with the idea of him." Which proves wrong with the flashbacks I believe. Because it shows all the love and history they have together already. Also, what was with all the flashback shots right before they kissed? I've never EVER seen Riverdale do anything like that. They have been very romantic about how they're approaching Barchie. *cough* Archie writing Betty a song *cough*

ALL THE PARALELLS

These totally speak for themselves. I can't even name them all. Seriously. This show is also continuously reminding us of how much history they have together. But my favorite has to be the dance in Betty's bedroom to the one from the dance in 1x01. I mean, that was a MASTERPIECE. Just sayin.

THE SONG

Ahhh, my favorite. I'm sorry but you don't just write a song for anyone. You write a song for someone your either already in love with or falling in love with. Not to mention, the lyrics. As well as the fact that Archie has never EVER done anything remotely close to this caring and tender for Veronica. And she's his damn girlfriend of 4 seasons. But yeah, him and Betty are nothing serious or special. Yeah okay, Bugheads.

"A LITTLE PART OF ME.."

Yet another parallel. Damn, they are good. This one is very important I feel. They both basically almost said the same thing about the other. And remember, Archie said this back in season 1 so damn. They always always have imagined and yearned for one another. Wondered how it would feel to really be together and have a chance. They both feel they're meant to be together. And this isn't a fantasy, they have kissed many times and cared for one another for so long. That's not fantasy. It's yearning for something that's just out of your reach.

THE KISS + time jump - that kiss was 100000% real and pure perfection. I'd say best kiss of Riverdale ever. Their chemistry is on fire. And I feel like this time jump is going to show just how much they really do love one another. Because they're the others safe place and you always return to where your feel safe, where you feel at home. And for them that is each other.

i don’t actually think penny being able to be hacked or have her agency taken away from her in some way is contradictory to her having a sense of humanity/personhood. otherwise, qrow being influenced by alcohol means he’s not a person... because that’s an external thing that impacts how you think and behave!

in other words, i strongly think that people who think this is inherently a bad writing decision are mistaken. there is no contradiction here.

if anything i wish the show had actually gone somewhere that’s not “bad guys hacking penny lol.” penny is the winter maiden. imagine if, for example, was slated to be the winter maiden, because they could program her to think about a specific person X when she dies, which uses pre-established lore stuff in an interesting way. hell, even if the winter maiden was human and penny never existed, with atlas’s tech and the fact that souls are apparently malleable via tech, it’d be easy to put some neural implant that just flashes a specific person through your head. maybe, being a robot, her aura wouldn’t be accessible from the usual places via cinder’s grimm arm. etc.

idk i think there was potential here for adding meaning to the maidens--like, how people view them as merely keys/vessels for power--and how that could affect them or something, and there’s some paralellism with the idea of penny as a robot being viewed as a tool. 

but ofc that would... challenge... the viewer and doesn’t easily fit into the way we think about this stuff normally, ie. “HUMANITY = 100% FREE WILL ALL THE TIME BAYBEE; OTHERWISE, YOU BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE NO FREE WILL AT ALL”
