Kevin Day is Babygirl.

The upperclassmen want Neil to be Babygirl so badly that it literally kills them that he’s not. He’s just not. Nothing about him gives Babygirl. He only exudes feral street cat who was given a can of tuna on a good day and stuck around vibes. They hate it. They want him to be Babygirl so badly.

Eventually, though, when they finally accept it, and Neil has literally done everything possible to fend them off, they realize Neil is not Babygirl. But then, from out of the shadows, emerges Kevin Babygirl Day. They’d been so busy trying to make it work with Neil they had been missing what was right in front of them this whole time. They’d failed to see what the monsters already knew. Kevin Day is The Babygirl.

Of course, the only person who acknowledges this fact within the monster circle is the monster himself, Andrew Minyard, but once it’s been seen, it cannot be unseen. Kevin goes from being Andrew’s Babygirl to the team's Babygirl. And Kevin not knowing but responding positively to it anyway makes it so much better. The sudden praise and care that comes with it? The attention and affectionate indulgence? He’s unsure why everyone’s started being so nice to him, but he’s not complaining.

Don’t get me wrong, when Kevin gets in a mood, they all steer clear, and they still fight with him when they want to, but he’s just so precious. How could they ever stay mad? And the crazy thing is that Kevin is better for it. He’s happier and softer around them. He learns to feel not only safe but comfortable and relaxed with them. His bad moods don't last so long and he's genuinely a lot happier. He doesn’t need Andrew or Neil by his side to feel protected anymore.

The upperclassmen’s inside joke unintentionally becomes what helps Kevin heal and open up as a person rather than remain the hollowed-out shell from The Nest. Kevin thrives under their attention and praise, so much so that he starts to seek it out subconsciously. He gets mopey and upset when they don’t acknowledge him. It actually hurts his feelings when they ignore him. He actively becomes a better person, someone who is healing because they so positively love him. All because they jokingly Babygirlified him.

So anyway. Yeah. Kevin Day is Babygirl.

Had a thought while reading about auntie!Karlach and now y'all are going to deal with it

So after everything is over Wyll, Tav, and Karlach go to Avernus. They've got things to fix after all

They've kinda got a throuple thing going on

When they've got time for intimacy they take it, after all free time doesn't come easy

They get attacked, Wyll gets taken

And then they were two

But it's okay, they're best friends, they'll make it through

Intimacy has consequences though, and now two become three again

It's a little girl, born in a cave in the hells. A tiefling daughter of a devil and child of Avernus. Yet Faerûn shines in her eyes.

They name her Brim, short for brimstone. The world she's surrounded by and doomed to exist in

Tav isn't the mothering type. They never wanted kids. They do their best anyways

But when the baby cries at the wrong time, they end up in a heap of trouble

Tav thinks it would be better to end it then for the girl. Keep them and her out of trouble. It's not like they have a way to get her to Faerûn and she'll just get them killed

Karlach argues.

She's just a baby. She doesn't know any better. They'll find a way to get her to safety

She looks at Tav, her best friend, and doesn't recognize them.

They leave a few days later, abandoning their friend and child for safety

And then there were two

Karlach with a six month old

She does everything for that little girl

She runs from the front lines and the hunt for Wyll

She wears thick leather gloves, worn soft from years of fighting so that she can cradle her

She sings her drinking songs from Baldur's Gate to help her sleep at night.

She hunts for a way to get Brim to safety, her own heart be damned

It won't matter if she makes it if Brim gets harmed on her watch

They camp in the husks of buildings and caves. She finds kindness where she can.

People see a woman with a baby, some help and others turn away

A baby is a dangerous thing in such a place

Brim grows. She looks so much like Wyll. All of her features are his. But her hair.. so shockingly red. That was Tav's.

Her horns curl like her father's, still short, but without a doubt they're there.

Karlach wearing a baby on her back. The leather carrier protecting sensitive skin from her burning engine.

Karlach finding a quiet moment to braid Brim's hair back

Karlach finding out that Wyll might still be alive, and having to decide how much danger she's willing to put Brim in for a maybe

Karlach turning away because she can't risk the life of her kid for a dream

Karlach doing her best to raise Brim in Avernus, while always searching for a fix to her heart, so that they can get out together.

Brim calling Karlach mom, because she's the only family she's ever known

Karlach calling Brim her kid, because gods dammit, she put in the work and Brim is hers. Doesn't matter who she was born to.

Ppl hate a character that's emotionally intelligent and copes well with trauma and traumatic situations. That's why everyone is so up Zoro's ass about having to have more trauma in order to give him depth... Don't you think his natural disposition and actions/reactions provide him a depth that almost no other character has??? Can he be recognized for bringing his own differences and dimension to the table?

I love people who share their thoughts on their favorite/least favorite parts of the chapter and share their own theories or wishes for future chapters. It tells me so much about how you are perceiving the story up to that point and it is really reassuring to read.

Based on the comments so far, I don't think many of you expect what's going to happen soon and it makes me happy because it means the story isn't as predictable.

yknow AI art has ruined an entire genre of painting to me, i saw one of those smooth anime-realism pieces and immidiately thought ''ugh, AI art'' until i noticed it was posted by an established deviantart user 6 years ago. like ive never been a huge fan of that genre but it looks like a pretty difficult style to master and i feel bad for the artists who specialized in anime-realism only to have their entire market jacked by people typing keywords into midjourney.

food is great! if you need it and that's what you're asking for. unfortunately food doesn't buy clothes, hygiene products, shelter, pay a phone bill, or yes even buy drugs or alcohol if you're going into detox and can't do so safely without literally dying
