The people complaining abt the pride cape on the graham plushie, when theyre not just being outwardly homophobic, are saying its not part of his design in-game so it shouldn’t be there

The pride flag is a symbol for the rights we’ve fought for because, idk if you knew this, but members of the lgbt community have been uh. Murdered? Outlawed? Hate crimed? Theyre oppressed? Idk if you knew that lol

Pride flags are not just a silly thing, they represent years of fighting for our rights, to not be scrutinized. And just because we can legally get married in the U.S doesnt suddenly erase all the, still, very rampant homophobia in the world. Please dont forget it still very much exists.

With pride month coming up and the flint/graham plushies being released around the same time, the flag comes with the plushies to celebrate said pride month. This is because Flint and Graham are a canon gay couple, and even if it’s not “part of their design” or “what the game is about”, it’s still a part of their characters. And trying to erase canon LGBT representation just because it’s “not what the game is about” can very easily come across as homophobic. Your focus is in the wrong place if your biggest concern is “its not design accurate” ESPECIALLY when you can remove the cape.

And its not even an argument because everything else is still design accurate. Its still graham. Its still flint. The plushies coming with REMOVABLE pride capes doesnt suddenly erase that.

I’m really tired of homophobia being disguised as some polite disagreement. You should not see a pride flag and immediately have an issue. You can say your concern is that it’s not design or game accurate, but it’s a canon part of their characters. It’s not taking away from their designs or the game, it’s representing a part of the characters. A part of their characters that is important to acknowledge as pride month approaches.

Remember why pride exists. Remember what pride flags actually represent. As much as its fun to celebrate how far we’ve come, never forget where we came from and how hard we had to fight, and STILL have to fight to be treated equally.

rant incoming because I'm going insane:

i will never ever understand why am fans have so much beef with milex shippers.

i have been in SO many fandoms throughout my life, I've been obsessed with SO many bands whose members are shipped to the point of insanity, and it was never a problem. sure, some people didn't like the ships, but why are so many am fans acting like this is something unique? bts, mcr, dan and phil, harry potter, I've seen fucking everything. every other fandom in the world are just this obsessed with their ships, trying to prove that two men are fucking, posting theories and so on. shipping was always a thing in fandoms and always will be, especially if we're talking about male celebrities and teenage girls.

having said this, the kind of fandom i have never been in is one where grown ass women bring this much toxicity to the community and behave like children. there are hundreds of celebrities whose girlfriends are not liked by the fans, but no girlfriend ever engaged this much with the haters, probably because they realised that it would only make things worse, and the fans would hate them even more.

we could've had some peaceful end of the tour content, but no, we have this instead. every few months something has to be done by a certain someone in order for people to pay attention to her, and so that in the end fans will forget the reason they're fans and engage in stupid shit like this, defeating the whole purpose of being a music fan.

all this drama is slowly making me not want to have anything to do with am or the fandom anymore. if not for miles and him being connected to am, i would've stopped giving a fuck about alex years ago (technically not through his fault, but then also because of him). this whole thing just makes me sad because miles does not deserve to be associated with these people and the fact that he will never be able to get rid of them is so not it.

I think Are You Sure? is reminding me how much I love them, and trying to enjoy it with social media is really driving home how much I hate over-analyzing things to death.

I do miss the days when I just watched bts content alone, with no connection to fandom on social media except for maybe some youtube comments. It sucks to have so much fun, love the content and want to get excited with other people but come up against a wall of ppl nitpicking each detail down to tone of voice or phrasing (in translation) that proves or disproves this or that or that...almost like they aren't watching it but are studying it for ideas for posts or are waiting with baited breath for something to be upset about and thus seeing it everywhere and blowing up every small thing. It just isn't enjoyable.

If I nitpick I want it to be for things to be happy about...and hey, lucky me to have it so so so easy to find the happy things when I'm into a group of people who give me so much joy every day. I really want to uncomplicatedly enjoy this show as much as I truthfully do, without running everything through a lens picking apart what I'm afraid haters will say or defending things or letting my feelings be clouded and influenced by everyone else.

I may post still, but if i don't really seem so conversational part of it is me just distancing a bit from other opinions and basking in the show until I won't be swayed...even still i don't really see a point of entertaining negativity. It just bores me to argue in circles, explain to people who don't care, or be angry all the time. I don't want to see everything with negative spin to get angry or upset about or be anxious to defend, especially vague things we don't have all of the context to or rumors or things random internet people who might be 12 are saying. It's just so much easier to let go of the things you can't control or don't know, ignore nonsense, and let myself enjoy what I enjoy and think what i think.

people who are upset can talk to each other about their upset but I won't pretend to be upset if I'm not and I won't entertain it either when I don't agree or don't care. it's really that simple in the end. being a jikook missionary isn't my thing either so idk i guess i just don't care too much about debates about phrasing or details or vibes or timelines...when it is no longer fun speculation and slips into anger it really just isn't worth it.

I don't see the point of overly identifying with particular details or theories to the point of emotional upset and anger or arguing all of the time just like I don't see the point in going in circles trying to explain what I think to people who won't ever understand or agree...other opinions aren't worth more to me than my own...people may make good points or sway me but ultimately I have all the power over my perception and I won't give it away or waste energy defending it.

some people are just stressed about everything and obsessed with being right or obsessed with being afraid to be wrong and look at every single thing like a piece of a puzzle and I don't want to get that deep into it. Whatever the truth is, it isn't something we are likely to know details of...that's fine, that's boundaries, that's their choice, also it's fine if I'm wrong, even if i'm wrong about everything my opinions don't sway reality...it matters very little if I'm right or wrong as long as I am not being hateful or too attached emotionally to my interpretations.

Fandom is meant to be fun, it's really that simple. The second fandom/social media/discourse starts making me loose the joy BTS bring me....I'm out. I'm protecting BTS for myself, BTS are way more important to me than fandom and I won't let strangers on the internet sour them for me.

I love the vocal nuance in this exchange, but also posting this for my differences posts because this is one of the changes that infuriates me the most. Yuri didn't threaten Ioder, did not threaten him with a weapon, and just said he'd punch him in a lazy, half joking voice (half joking as in, he really doesn't want to hear that - that's just his way of saying so; but that's not the voice of someone who is super angry and threatening).

My other huge grievance is that this is a recurring issue between them in the dub. Yuri is pretty much always vocally rude to Ioder. Ioder has done nothing to wrong him or anyone and has only ever done good for the people where he's able to.

Yet despite Ioder being nothing but sincere, honest and polite with Yuri, in fact even happy to see him here and there, dub Yuri is outright tonally rude to him leading right up this scene where he threatens Ioder in this dark voice. Meanwhile he's actually just supposed to be… lazily telling Ioder he'll punch him in his Yuri Lowell way of saying "I don't want to hear that".

The dub really just wanted to turn Yuri into this dark edgelord and I hate that for my goofy, silly boy.

I still am liking gotchard and this isn't me wanting to be rude abt it cus 💖 gotchard, I'm just having a little complain about something I genuinely really like (based on My Personal Preferencs), but why did the pacing Suddenly get so nauseating with the last few episodes. ik lots of ppl complained abt it, and maybe it's an especially fast response to fan complaints, but I guess I just personally liked when it was paced slower ;o;

now it feels like suddenly the amount of ground we're covering per ep has increased So Much, like I feel the amount introduced in the past 2 eps would've been introduced over At Least 4, but probably more, with the previous sense of speed

ik this is coming from me, someone who Especially enjoys breathing room with the pacing, like I'm a kuuga fan who wholeheartedly loves the pacing of kuuga, even though I regularly see people say it's too slow. which is a huge disagree from me I genuinely think it works perfectly but I guess it is My Exact Birthday Show (yay mine and kuuga's joint 24th this month) which I joke about being literally made for me for a reason.

but regardless of the fact I'm a known liker of slower pacing, it seems like such a weird change of pace after it was going for like... two episodes per mini plot thread before.. it felt unnatural to me- I feel even if they wanted to speed it up a bit, they could've sped it up without it feeling Soo fast... yes, I have a personal preference and it's okay if they want to speed it up, it doesn't have to cater to my tastes, but I just wish it felt a bit more natural in how it picked up the pace?

alas I will keep watching cus I do still genuinely like this show and the characters, is just hope the pace settles a little bit, or if they keep it up, it feels more natural I guess
