#anti svtfoe ending
toonsforkicks22 · 21 days
Note
well, bare in mind, svtfoe was rushed because it was canceled/forced to end early. iirc. it sucks.
And yet they chose the SHITTIEST episodes to remember season 4 on. I’d rather it all ended after Toffee’s defeat.
I’m also Anti-Starco because they suck.

Songs that I feel give off the vibes of one of the Mewman queens. Part 1
(BTW: this series isn't based off of whether or not they would like the song. it's based off of what kind of vibes I feel like the queens give off from the song. Also, I will explain why that song gives off a certain queen of Mewni vibe. Well, most times. If I'm not really feeling it that day, then I'll just post the queen and song.)
My sources for this post are: The SVTFOE Spell Book ($20 on Amazon) and Genius (no money whatsoever, you just need some wifi). The show will not be a source for this post because everything in the show is also in the spellbook when it comes to her.
Queen: Festivia Butterfly
Tumblr media
Song: The Red Means I Love You by Madds Buckley
Aight Imma try to do an analysis with this one. Just know that I'm super duper bad at explaining things. And, now that I know that it is about Toga from MHA, it's super hard for me to try and associate the song with anyone else. So if it's super disorganized, that's why.
So, The Red Means I Love You is about Himiko Toga from MHA and her quirk of drinking other people's blood to look and sound like them. But it can also be interpreted as many other things. Such as someone having a crush on another person, or a one sided relationship, or a forbidden love. But for today, I'm gonna use this song to analyze (as good as I can) Festivia's life + what she must have been thinking when she most likely found out in the afterlife that her whole life was a lie. Anyways, let's start with verse 1.
Tumblr media
"Unusual. They say strange fascination, infatuation." could be her longing for her "parents" and wanting to meet them. It could also be her wanting to end the war (or more bluntly, push it into the background) between the Mewmans and Monsters.
"A lunatic" could be talking about The Host-Me Spell. Where basically, she uses magic to hide how she feels on the inside.
"And I've always heard it's what's inside that counts" could be referring to Festivia's naïveté and ignorance and just being a wholehearted and trusting person. But not realizing that not everyone has that good of intentions. And this could also be her living in denial about her life being a lie, trying to rationalize the MHC's actions.
Tumblr media
"Cause my insides are red, and yours are too. And the red on my face is matching you" could describe how Festivia is Pie Folk, not nessecarily Mewman. And she is just like the Pie Folk (especially with her love for pie (sorry if I've said pie too much)) But if the MHC was able to trick the entire kingdom for years that she was Mewman, she in a way, is just like them. Just not from the same kingdom.
"You're down and you're pleading, my head is just reeling" can describe how Festivia may have felt if she ever found out that her life was a lie. She may have felt like she was going crazy and she was 100% living in denial or at least defiantly upset and angry. Mostly at the MHC for lying to her and using her because of her prejudice and as a tool for anti-monster conspiracy. But I bet she would also feel anger and resentment towards herself for believing them and being so naive to even believe them to begin with. Or maybe I'm just looking too deep into this, idk.
Tumblr media
"The red means I love you" could be Festivia romanticizing the MHC in her head and just ignoring all the red flags in each and every one of them. Because the MHC is full of terrible people. And Festivia doesn't want to admit that they used her for their own benefit.
Tumblr media
"Unfortunate. They say such a shame, I turned out this way" would be her finding out that she isn't apart of the Butterfly family. And that compared to other queens, it feels like she just did nothing (I personally feel like she didn't do nothing, but she really just did the bare minimum by not speaking for the people).
"Well, yeah, I get manic when I cause a panic" could mean that she probably had an extisential crisis when she found out the truth and tried telling herself that she is a Butterfly and that she is lying to herself. No, she probably never believed herself. Yes, she probably looked crazy to all the other queens.
"And of course I'm excited when I see you around" defiantly describes her enthusiastic personality. Or it could be her being sarcastic to everyone else because they all probably knew and they just didn't care enough to tell her. Or on the flip side, it could be how she forces a smile and pretends to be happy when really, she's miserable on the inside.
Tumblr media
"You leave me high and dry" could be the MHC using Festivia as a tool for anti-monster conspiracy and was just a replacement for Eclipsa's daughter. But then not even thinking about her when she died.
"A rush comes to my mind" could go hand in hand with the first line and be Festivia's reaction to the MHC forgetting about her. And she was most likely flabbergasted with how the MHC treated her. She would've defiantly gone into a spiral about it.
"At the drops of blood you leave behind. Run as you might" is Festivia remembering her time with the MHC and metaphorically running from the truth.
"My love will never, ever stop" would mean that even though the MHC betrayed her, she still does love them even if it's so little now that she knows the truth.
Aight y'all thank you for your time. Super duper sorry if it sounds like I'm constantly repeating myself or if it's super disorganized. This is my first time doing this and it's probably gonna get better as I keep going along with this series. What queen/song do you guys want me to do next? Reblog, ask me, message me, or leave it in the comments. Also, if anyone wants me to do this kind of series but with characters from tv and movie characters in general, pls tell me. Part 2 will most likely be up tomorrow. Anyways here's some fan art of her (go the Kiramice's insta, I linked it under the pic) and an image of Festivia's wand. :)

There is nothing funnier than being called a bigot after you say outright that Zionists erased victims other than Jews, or after you say outright that Poles were victims of the Nazis and did not cooperate with them
You can see how brainwashed the Zionists are that you accuse a victim of colonization (by three countries) for "collaborating with the Nazis"
The truth is that you are bigots, to other victims, you react in the same way to the mention of Roma, people with disabilities, LGBT+ people and yes, Germans could have ended up there too (If you think they didn't, you are distorting history)
This is a strong erasure of the victims and their denial, even if they are written down, many people erase them and it's fucked up (And the propaganda about Poland's cooperation with the Nazis is one of the most disgusting things that can be spread, because it's a fucking lie)
The very fact that there are people who believe that victims of colonization collaborated with the Nazis is disgusting, do you know who collaborated with the Nazis? Zionists, they cooperated, and now they spread propaganda that Jews should be for Israel, otherwise they are not "Real Jews", yes, they sign themselves as Jews, for later generations to be attacked for their crimes, that's sick!
Poles were the perfect victims of Zionists (Just after the Palestinians… Because let's face it, what Israel is doing to the Palestinians is disgusting + He also stole lands from Egypt, because "the Torah says we deserve it"), people were brainwashed by the Nazis, which they struggled with the effects of colonization and had to leave their homes (Do you remember SVFOE and Eclipsa, when the monsters came home? This is what it looked like, residents were forced to move out of their homes, unfortunately, this situation is a gray area, because people, like the people in this cartoon, were evicted from the houses they lived in, because previously they belonged to Jews who were sent to camps, it is this is a really specific situation, which is harder to describe, but supported anti-Semitism, and who feeds on anti-Semitism? Zionism), don't they seem like the perfect scapegoat?
(Unfortunately, I can't find this scene from SVTFOE, but it takes place in the fourth season)
And Zionists are known for accusing the victims (Palestinians, remember how they were accused of anti-Semitism, even though Israel is an Islamophobic country that colonizes the country and was helped by the USA and the UK?)
Zionists feed on anti-Semitism for their own game, manipulating the victims for their own benefit. Do you seriously think that after the post-war situation, when Poles were forced to leave their homes and were brainwashed by the Nazis for years, they won't be angry? Exactly… This is the situation, quite gray, but at the same time it shows how people misunderstand the situation in that period, it does not explain, but explains, and the panic about communism does not help either (which was also one of the reasons for attacks on Jews after the war)
So reading people accusing Poland of complicity is disgusting, because Poland was a victim of colonization, the Nazis tried to erase national identity (Unfortunately, what Poland still hasn't regained, what Poland was before colonization is not what it was after)
Well, I'm sorry, but you are a bigot if you accuse the victims of complicity with their perpetrator, that's sick
Well, sorry, but there is nothing more disgusting than saying that a victim of colonization collaborated with the colonizers -_-

The falling star of SVTFOE OT 1- the eclipsing of potential.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua-ANnAVLjA&t=4185s
now before I begin I would like to address this video, it’s a very well made video and honestly I’d highly recommend you watch it- maybe even before or after reading this? I agree with a lot of what he said other than the parts regarding the one and only Eclipsa.
Tumblr media
Now I know I’m going to get Flammed for this- because a lot of people believe that during the most darkest and dreary parts of this show- eclipsa ironically was the saving Grace- and I’d agree, because she was the one and only thing that seemed to remind you that you weren’t only watching this show for the terrible shipping but for the actual plot?? But then I’d also disagree because- wait for it- Eclipsa was technically the worst thing to happen to this show.
Tumblr media
Now lower your pitchforks please- and let me explain.
Let’s go back to the good old days when svtfoe could be considered good, now shall we? Yeah I mean like season 2. Star and Marco were tolerable and their relationship was pretty well written. Star, being the free spirited child she was, had this persistant worry about the loss of her freedom when she became queen which was honestly? Quite reasonable to have. Being a queen is a huge responsibility- as you now become the ultimate servant and leader to your people. There really won’t be time for mistakes or adventures so star’s anxiety at entering this new phase of life was a really interesting perspective, and the message of her becoming a queen that could best serve her people in her own way was also a really good message to. Nowadays when kids grow up they might feel heavily pressured by society to get a reasonable job, settle down, anything done outside of the norm isn’t usually received well. So the message of telling star- yeah you have to grow Up, but you can still do it in your own way, while handling your responsibilities was a really nice message! Especially when you realized that other queens of Mewni had their own ways of ruling. Maybe star could look to them for guidance or inspiration? Maybe she’d want to set a completely new path while learning how to balance out her responsibility! I was really waiting to see how it would play out- heck they even fully addressed it in an episode! In addition to this, we had the whole plot point of Marco being possibly evil, and Toffee’s plan slowly but surely shaping up to be huge...IT HAD A LOT OF POTENTIAL-
until...it didn’t.
Enter in one of if not the worst plot twists of all time. Eclipsa and Meteora.
Tumblr media
Now you can argue them not making eclipsa evil was an original/good thing and I’d say sure- fair- BUT. Them making eclipsa the rightful ruler essentially rendered Star’s whole crisis of being a good ruler while being true to herself ultimately pointless- she could easily just hand off the crown- because it wasn’t hers to begin with. What was the point of giving star that plotlines if it didn’t matter in the end? Heck what was the point of showing Moon being a good queen at the beginning of at the end she easily tossed it all away and suffered massive character assassination???
And the worst part of this- was the terrible racism analogy between monsters and mewmans. Monsters do not make good comparisons to POCs especially ones that can easily suck your soul out. In fact remember the plot line that The show told you involved globgor actually committing many atrocities against the spider folks? Then it conveniently dropped it? Yeah I do too. The fact that Eclipsa chose love over her responsibilities as a ruler for someone who’s committed a lot of crimes against mewman’s political allies should at the very least make the people suspicious and mistrusting of her. But instead the show rights this off as cool, and quirky and brave- while writing off anyone who didn’t like her as one dimensional racists- like what??? There are legitimate reasons for the mewmans to not trust eclipsa. Ones that DO NOT INVOLVE RACISM. ((Globgor was such an atrocious let down too)).
Tumblr media
One of the worst parts about Eclipsa returning, and not being evil was how it killed soooo many potential plot points/purpose of so many things. Don’t get me wrong- a lot of GREAT things were dropped- but these were so bad..
What was the point of showing Moon being a responsible queen if it didn’t matter?
Tumblr media
What was the point of Star struggling with the idea of her upcoming responsibilities if it didn’t matter?
Tumblr media
What was the point of THIS if it didn’t mater?!?!?
Tumblr media
Or THIS?!
Tumblr media
In fact what was the point of teaching about the power of responsibility if you were ironically going to reward the least responsible character in the show??? Sure you can argue- she showed great responsibility when she was willing to kill Meteroa for Mewni- but I’d actually argue that having her take back the crown, after seeing what she did to Moon, and then later put aside her responsibilities to save her husband (who was said committed a lot of monstrosities against the spiderbite folk mind you), is just...not right. And ironically Eclipsa wasn’t the worst offender of this.
Tumblr media
Her daughter, also easily one of the worst characters of the show, Meteora- who drained multiple princesses for their life force to stay young while making others miserable for a living- went on a huge genocidal rampage through mewni- against innocent people- for the throne- and all she got was a reset in life, where she’s now in line for the throne.....
Tumblr media
So she essentially got rewarded for committing massive genocide! Great lesson to teach kids SVTFOE! Really nice!
Tumblr media
She’s arguably worse than Toffee when you think about it, yet only one of them get their full comeuppance- which is ironic because the one who was right ended up dying the brutal death.
Ironically, Eclipsa could’ve been both right, and the villain?? If she had been a villain, I would’ve called her one of- if not the best, American animated villains. Why? Well to start- a lot of the things seemed to be really coincidental- like her just happening to have a spell that would kill an immortal (for no particular reason) that would just so grant her, her freedom. For someone who’s like “lol I’m not that evil” she has a lot of dark spells (one for invading someone’s privacy, and a bunch for just flat out KILLING people)- and her messages/advice to Star when struggling to deal with her power from her mewberty form was...questionable to say the least- she’s someone who seems to operate without consideration of responsibility- but that doesn’t mean that she’s not a schemer...
Some of the best villains or antagonists in fiction, are those that are usually right in some shape or form, that end up challenging the protagonist’s whole pov. Eclipsa could’ve been that.
Eclipsa’s whole point of running away could’ve been tied to Toffee- maybe you could’ve had her whole plot be the fact that she was a long term planner, who wanted to fight monster racism- a good goal, in the less than moral way possible. Maybe she had pulled some strings in the background that, if the show had actually acted on the potential of Marco becoming an evil monster that joined Toffee’s side- or Toffee becoming something monstrously powerful- could’ve forced monsters and mewmans to work together against a united goal, showing that there was potential for the species to equally co-exist and work together- something that Eclipsa had realized a long time ago, but realized that she wouldn’t be the one to be the catalyst for such revolution- but she knew that someday, somehow there would be a potential princess who would, she just needed to ensure the right actions would lead to the right results. Would it be cliche? Yeah, but it would’ve been a lot better than flat out character assassination, untied plot ends, and MASSIVE GENOCIDE.
Tumblr media
Also speaking of the massive genocide, meteora and eclipsa- can we talk about that for a show that wants to be ‘complex’ when addressing social issues- it really seemed to ignore a lot of social issues in and of itself? It’s like racism is the only issue that anyone in this show cares to address.
No, like really- think about it.
Some of the mewmans live really really terribly- there’s clearly a caste system there, but it’s just passed off as comedy....why doesn’t it bother anyone??? Is poverty just not that important???
Some of the characters like Mina, and Moon, are clearly dealing with the trauma of their past- Mina who’s the victim of propaganda, and PTSD, has literal magic driving her crazy. But it’s usually passed off a joke and never further developed. The fact that Solaris, who is largely responsible for inventing such magic responsible the monstrocitity of a final we got- had the audacity to glare at someone who she, herself- recruited via BLATANT PROPOGANDA, and has suffered because of Solaris more than anyone else is disgusting.
Tumblr media
The journal pretty clearly depicts Solaris as a genocidal racist to- so am I the only one missing the ten character arcs of development that she must’ve underwent to love Meteora?  If it was in the journal, then that’s just terrible writing, because the watcher shouldn’t have to look for outside material when watching a tv show.
Moon, who had her mother killed by Toffee, the same man- who literally steals her soul, caused the death of council member, and almost killed her own daughter. Imagine dealing with that, she was so distraught when she saw Toffee, who she thought killed Star, she could barely think right. How come her trauma is never addressed or talked about???
Tumblr media
Now I’ll admit, I don’t like Steven Universe, it’s far from perfect with it’s delivery at times, but at least- it could address multiple issues with mental health, social issues and a caste system. It at least could address it’s internal and external character plot lines.
This show? The second half of it? Eh no.
Tumblr media
(Ironically his earth friends leaving was a great analogy for all of the potential for the show to be awesome dissipating in the later half of this show)
Also can we talk about the fact that for a show that seems to speak out against racism so much- how come when Toffee wanted to destroy magic it was bad, but when Star does it, it’s good? Isn’t that a little racist in and of itself?
Other plot points that were also rendered pointless by this stupid twist:
Tumblr media
SMH THEY REALLY WASTED PATRICK STUMP’S TIME LIKE THIS!!!
The awesome ballad of star butterfly (song doesn’t matter because star isn’t even the real future queen, little miss genocidal maniac is)

The VLD Treatment
Named after Voltron Legendary Defender it's where a show takes a steep decline in quality eventually leading to objectively unsatisfying or downright shitty closure masked as a Happy Ending. Typically caused by hacks trying to subvert expectations out of spite, especially if the audience figured out plot points established by previous seasons but the writers are too lazy to follow through on said plot points.
Symptoms: Lack of focus on other characters, increasingly Unfortunate Implications, Orihime Syndrome, plot twists that go nowhere or screws over a character arc, turning once likable characters into unbearable Creator's Pets, "woke points" but in reality the writing is racist, homophobic and sexist.
Known Victims: SPN season 15, GoT season 8, SvtFOE season 4, Danny Phantom season 3, Promised Neverland season 2, Naruto & Bleach

Star vs question: Why did you disagree with Star's decision to destroy magic?
Because the show was based around magic and it’s dumb and kinda depressing for it to end with Star deleting all the magic and thus killing all magic beings in the process. Like imagine if ROTJ ended with Luke being like “Okay, I’ll delete the Force now because I don’t want to deal with what happened.“ And he does that and that’s how SW ends and every single Force-sensitive person is erased and all the Force ghosts vanish as well.
There are shows that ended like SVTFOE. Legend of Korra was one. She severs her connection with her past lives, which was the core of the show, and she never restores it. But like that’s not a good show and you don’t want your show to be compared to that lol.

I could have been okay with whole Earth/Mewni merge, if it wasn't done just to give Star and Marco a forced happy ending.
Maybe if under different circumstances and better writing, I could have been okay with it. But it's just there just because in their minds "We need to make st@rco happy! Sure some other characters might suffer, but if doesn't matter as long as the main leads are happy right?" 😒

Fixing the SVTFOE Finale
It’s depressingly easy to do, which makes me wonder how it was missed by the actual writers. “Mama Star” remains exactly the same, but then “Ready, Aim, Fire” has the omission of the MHC working with Mina because that’s dumb, and more importantly Mina is actually the one in the Solarian armor. There is no twist about Moon and her villagers, it’s just Mina on her own. Like what happens in the show, Mina is defeated by the Spell With No Name in “The Right Way” (she survives, but just barely, and her power is gone). But because of what’s going on in the Realm of Magic, the Spell With No Name has gone rogue and now threatens to destroy Mewni and all other dimensions. “Here to Help” is now about everyone banding together to help in this unforeseen crisis - Moon and her village, Ludo and his siblings, the MHC, and even Mina. Thus, in place of “Pizza Party / The Tavern at the End of the Multiverse” and “Cleaved”, we have a one-hour series finale that fleshes everything else appropriately and makes the destruction of magic a sacrifice that absolutely NEEDS to happen to secure the safety of all dimensions rather than a hastily made decision to stop something that could be stopped through other means.  And when Star and Marco create a new form of magic at the end, every deceased good magical being is shown to be revived.
There, proper closure. That wasn’t so hard, was it?

My Feelings About Bradford Buzzard And His Grandmother
First, If No One Has Seen The Last Episode of The Final Season of Ducktales Reboot with the Last Adventure, do not read this unless you seen that episode first.
okay here goes...
My feelings on Bradford's Grandmother, I don't like her.
she is the reason Bradford became the way he is in the first place.
plus whenever Bradford tried to reason with Scrooge, he got ignored, so of
course he had to use the papyrus to make Scrooge, Della and Donald forget he was ever there. even if he did transform into a monster,
it wouldn't be because he's evil. it would be from the negative emotions and the misinterpretation people have of him, so he isn't truly a villain, if anything he is a victim and that jerk of a Finch is the root of it all.
Even if she is Scrooge's hero, but even he would need to accept that she was a insensitive woman who caused a child trauma that led him to grow-up cold and truly alone.
Yes Bradford made mistakes, but he was blinded.
He tried to keep chaos from going out of control, even if it meant doing something that would hurt a family, which he shouldn't of did and that had crossed a line.
I don't believe that Bradford was truly evil, he was just a broken soul who wanted to stop dangerous adventures and possibly save those like him from suffering the same trauma he suffered since his childhood.
No one has to agree with me, but I just feel that most villains have good in them.
And most of their trauma and suffering are caused by the good guys or the main hero/heroine.
Plus No Hero or Heroine should be above the consequences of damaging someone else's life,
Either they be another hero or villain or a neutral party.
Scrooge wasn't truly at fault for what happen to Della, but if you think about it, it was 100% Della's.
She could of not stole the ship, but she did. and it because she chose to listen to the one who told her of the surprise, she could of chose to ignore it and act surprise later, and not cause her family to end up they it did.
Scrooge didn't mean for to become lost in space, but he isn't excused for some truly heartless things he has done in the past because of his greed before he found the true greatest treasure, which is his family.
He hurt Magica, and I believe the reason why they had that fight so long ago in the series, is because she wanted to get him back for what happen to her brother.
Even if Louie made a good point, that his villains/enemies, made him a better person.
That still doesn't excuse him for purposely not helping someone who asked for help, even saying they give him anything if he help them.
The pain that Scrooge felt when he lost Della, was perhaps the same feeling that Magica felt when she lost her brother and never saw him again.
I believe that the Phantom Blot, might really be Mr Vanderquack, Bentina Beakley's son-in-law,
Who is now a widow, who lost his wife and Bentina's biological granddaughter, before Webby came along.
But the biological granddaughter could of survived, while Edna Beakley-Vanderquack did not.
the reason why Blot wants to destroy all magic and Magica,
might have to do with the fact that he lost his wife Edna and his child.
If the incident happen before Webby was born, then I think Pepper might really be Bentina's Granddaughter.
But all that is just a theory.  if the story picks up in a Darkwing Duck Reboot and reveals that the theory about Phantom Blot being Mr Vanderquack, the widow of Edna, and Pepper being his long-lost daughter is true....then I guess I would be surprised.
But yeah back to the whole Isabella Finch, she is truly not as great as everyone makes her.
She caused Bradford to become who he is, and she couldn't see the damage it would cause later in his life.
Plus I believe that there was a reason why we saw a clone of Bradford, the real Bradford might of known what would happen if he faced Scrooge, so he used that ray thing that makes someone smart or dumb,
Shot it at his clone that looked 100% like him, then sent the clone to deal with Scrooge, while the Real Bradford himself sneaked away unseen by both sides.
If that theory is true, then maybe it will show it in the reboot of Darkwing Duck.
I hope some of you understand my view on Bradford, at first when it was revealed he was a part of FOWL, I did thought he was a villain. but after the episode that first showed that papyrus, and even showing a bit more of his past...but perhaps not all of it.
I don't view Bradford as someone who is evil, just someone who is deeply hurt and tried to do good but ended up hurting others in his quest to achieve it.
Yes he did wrong in his life, and he was blinded by his ambition that cost him in the end.
And we should try to remember, he wouldn't be that way if it wasn't for that insensitive Isabella Finch.
Once more, no one has to agree with my feelings about it. but I still find that Finch is my least favorite character in the Ducktales 2017 Continuum.
one of the tags for this is “True Monster” and to me,
Isabella Finch was the true monster.
Bradford was her victim, and she couldn’t see that her adventures that she dragged him on, was making him unhappy and would place stress, trauma and fear in his life, and making him go down a dark path just to keep the whole world safe.
Bradford wasn’t even truly evil, just broken and emotionally hurt.
which Della, Beakley, Scrooge and the rest of the family and friends couldn’t open their hearts and eyes enough to see.
it is possible the only one who could see it, was Magica.
because the way she said that he wasn’t a villain.
I can’t agree with the actions of those who are suppose to be “Good”
but end up hurting those who are just hurt themselves.
Discord didn’t even get a proper punishment,
he, Celestia and Luna just made the three scapegoats of his actions, get turned to stone, and Star Butterfly despite the fact that her and her family have misused magic for who knows how long of generations,
she chooses to move the blame from her Mother,
to magic itself, who let me remind you everyone, is not truly at fault, but those like Star and her family who wield it.
and if you misuse that power, it is your fault, not the source of the realm your magic comes from.
at least Lena was able to do better than what Star did, I still love SVTFOE
(and still hope to get a complete dvd collection of SVTFOE someday.)
and the last episode was still good, but I can’t agree with placing blame on magic, when it was Moon who misused it and caused so many lives to be in danger, and even ended up with Quirky dying.
Steven Quartz Universe, he went through trauma in his life that caused him to end up the way he turned out in Steven Universe Future.
I for one, love both the first series, the movie and Steven Universe Future.
the Steven Universe Future brought out some truth of Steven, that some can relate to and understand but maybe not fully.
because of what was revealed in Steven Universe Future,
about Greg’s past, I see him as both a Good and yet Bad person.
same with how Rose was during her life, as both when she was Pink Diamond,
and then when she reformed as “Rose Quartz”, which I still think that would make her a Trans-Gem, like gems who are normally be made one way, might feel like they are either a Rose Quartz, a Ruby or even a Zircon.
but the episode where we learn a bit more of Greg’s past, like how he felt about his parents and how he viewed their rules and how it seem like a prison to him.
but he might of only seen what he wanted to see, he might not of got the full picture growing up, and I had theorized that one of his parents could of been sensitive to loud music/sound, it is possible that Greg couldn’t understand.
Steven had a right to be mad at Greg, and even disappointed in him too.
Greg had cheered him up, and even made him happy finding out about his father’s old home.
but Greg made his son go back down to his lows again.
it was good that it was revealed that Steven is getting the help he needs.
when he corrupted himself, it was good that no one tried to hurt him
but hugged him when he needed that emotional support.
the kind that shows that those who are his family and friends, are there for him and are sorry they couldn’t see how much pain he was going through.
at times when a character who is normally a villain, and shows no sign of goodness in them (unlike Chrysalis, Cozy Glow and  Tirek showed when they bonded in one episode....who had shown a side of good that was in them.)
they can’t be saved...
I wont force others to agree on my view on all this, just try to respect that is how I see it.
not all villains are evil, some end up being Anti-Villains,
just as how some heroes who aren’t always good, end up as Anti-Heroes.
even if Isabella Finch was long gone in the world of Ducktales 2017,
but to me she was the root of Bradford’s suffering and trauma.
and that makes her the woman behind the man, and the true villain.
now I am gonna just go and sign off and have me time.
I might sign back on later or tomorrow, it depends.
and I really hope some of you will understand how I view Bradford,
yes at first I thought of him as a villain after it turned out he was FOWL.
but then after seeing the other sides of him, I can’t help but understand he was misunderstood and he only wanted to protect the world from danger.
(he just ended up going about it the wrong way, and went too far in the wrong ways to achieve that peace.)
and his grandmother Isabella, Ludwig, Scrooge, everyone, including the rest of FOWL, couldn’t see that.
I hope that at least such a thing gets resolved in a darkwing duck reboot.
and the Bradford we saw in the very end, turned out to be one of his clones.
because I believe that Bradford deserved better, he was not born that way, he was made that way because of his so called grandmother, who couldn’t see that she was making him unhappy and causing him trauma.
well thanks for listening, and once again no one has to agree about my feeling about Bradford or Isabella Finch,
or the whole theory about Phantom Blot being Bentina’s son-in-law,
who she thought died along with her daughter and granddaughter....
well the granddaughter she had before taking Webby in.
see ya later and keep safe everybody.

Did star doing away with magic feel weird to you?
Yes! It was like the complete opposite of what the show was about until then. It’s like if idk, in Gravity Falls’ last episode they would have had one of the twins wake up and have everything be a dream.

FMA but with Svtfoe's level of story writing.
God.
The first 25 episodes is similar to FMA 03: Ed and Al travel around Amestris having wacky episodic adventures. Youswell miners have a random music number. Winry is annoying as hell but it’s ok bc she only appears every couple episodes or so. In ep 15 we learn the Ishvalan Civil War happened and the episode ends with Ed concluding maybe not all Ishvalans are bad. Father is the main villain of the season bc he appeared in 2 episodes but they punch him and he dies in the finale. Then in episode 26 we meet Izumi and suddenly find out their entire backstory and Martel dies inside Al. I’m talking, suddenly everyone is sad and the fandom is left completely stunned by the sharp U turn. The season ends. We’re all like, what the hell, where is this gonna go from here???? I thought this was a weird but carefree shounen? There’s a movie which introduces Scar the dangerous serial killer and everyone is sad some more. Then the new season starts, and we go to Briggs and meet a ton of cool new characters and we’re like hell ye. Scar turns out not to be a danger bc it was all Amestrian anti-Ishvalan propaganda and he’s a cool dude now. We learn there’s only a couple bad Ishvalans and they are mostly chill and sad bc their land was taken. Ed is mad and convinces Roy they should fix it. Bradley is like uh no so they overthrow him and Roy is Furher by the end of the season. We’re like, wow this was an intense season, so much has happened and it feels like the end, but there’s still one season left? We are so curious. Then the entire season is just an Al-Winry-Ed love triangle and we’re forced to watch the kindest, softest kid in the show get hurt and treated like trash because I guess that’s what we want as the audience we just don’t know it. In the finale Roy is like “you know what maybe Bradley the murderous maniac was right” and lets him out of the jail to help him resurrect Father who is now a thing again. Ed and Winry finally get together but we’re all so tired and confused it feels weird. Ed learns what Roy did is like “WHAT THE HELL DUDE” and Roy gives a half assed explanation but the real reason is bc we need an antagonist because the whole season was just boring senseless drama. Ed is like “ya know what??? this all happened because of alchemy. I am gonna go destroy alchemy now bc that’s clearly the only way to solve this”. He does the final transmutation and idk maybe punches god too and there’s no alchemy anymore, not only for him, but for anyone. Father is like “HEY. THAT WAS RUDE. I AM SO MAD I WILL KILL YOU ALL” and runs off into the desert. “Should we... arrest him?” asks Al. Roy and Ed shrug. “Nah it’s gonna be okay.” Roy nods along and apologizes and everyone hugs. Racism is solved. Everyone’s crimes are forgiven. And They Lived Happily Ever After.

I wish I could draw, because for TSinktober I would have just drawn Star and Marco NOT being a couple.

Starco Fic Recs
Disclaimer: This list is largely curated to my own personal preferences (minimal feelings angst, minimal AUs, character development >>> plot) and has a fairly high bar for quality in characterization, etc. There will likely be many popular/beloved fics that I really don’t think highly of at all and therefore don’t make the cut. Feel free to DM me things you think I should consider adding, but I make no promises.
And of course I’d be flattered if you gave my own works a chance - stop by my About Me section for links! Thus far I’m particularly proud of the post-canon series I just started in collaboration with an awesome team, The Greatest Gift.
(Updated 9/26 - I decided to redo the list since people might appreciate seeing it in the tags again. To anyone whose own work is featured here that I haven’t personally responded to - I’m a tough critic with a lot of strong personal preferences so PLEASE do not take my gripes as condemnations of your skills - if they make the list at all, I think they’re worth a read!)
See below for the very thorough list!
Bolded titles indicate must-read.
Italicized titles indicate work is incomplete (in the case of continuous stories).
Asterisks indicate new additions from last update (3 for brand new, 1 for status update).
I’ve VERY loosely organized the categories by personal priority order this time around, but read the descriptions and decide for yourself!
Must-Reads
Forevermore - A Starco wedding story (with a bit of Jantom as well). Simply one of the best fics I’ve read in the fandom. I have no meaningful criticism to give it, and that’s the highest praise I can possibly give something.
Monarchs of Mewni (+ Traditionally Lovingly Yours) - A series of chronologically disconnected oneshots set years after the show. The backstory is very dated given how long ago it started (Jarco was kinda serious for a few years, Tomstar v2 never happened, etc) but overall it’s lovely. Has a bit of plot, a bit of Jantom, a lot of other character interactions, and a boatload of Starco - plus a Starco kid who is a decently developed character but also doesn’t just take over and crowd out Star and Marco themselves! That alone deserves merit.
Ruined - Aftermath of a hypothetical return of Monster Arm. Angst with a happy ending (and one of the few angsty fics that gets my seal of approval), so read this extra early if that’s more your schtick than mine.
study buddies - Y’know what, fuck it, I’m putting this here. It’s a short ball of Starco fluff but it’s one of the sweetest and fluffiest fluffballs I’ve seen in a long time and it’s very emotionally immersive and y’all needa read it.
*When Two Worlds Collide - One of my favorite postcanon series thus far. I admit I’m really not big on “magic returns!” plots in postcanon (which this has), and the sections that focus on that are hit or miss for me, but overall it has some of the funnest and cutest characterization and gags I’ve seen in any SVTFOE fic, ever. Absolutely worth following (and it has a fair amount of art to go along with it!)
***Star Chef - Oneshot (two chapters, so twoshot technically?) set in the same universe as Starlight Justiciar (see below) and is just a day in the life of Star and Marco. Goes absolutely above and beyond at emotional immersion and little nuances and details to bring the world and characters to life, which elevates it to something special to me.
Light of the Sun and Stars - (Promoted to Must-Read!) One of the few heavily divergent AU fics I care for. Marco is an orphan raised by monsters, and meets Star after running away. Just finished its “first season” and I've loved the recent chapters, am very excited to see where it goes.
*Don’t You Let Me Go - Wonderfully fluffy post-Cleaved Starco, one of my favorite oneshot “epilogues”.
i want to tell you (but i don’t know how) - Post season 3 fic detailing the growth of Star and Marco’s relationship. It’s spectacular writing and shows off a lot of the true depth of Starco beyond just being cute.
Adult - NSFW warning, non-explicit (aged-up characters). It’s a story about the journey towards Star and Marco’s first step into adulthood together -  it’s not graphic and way more focused on the emotions involved, but it still is definitely more explicit than your average FFnet rated-T fic. If sexual themes ain’t your thing, I totally respect that, but this is a charming and funny piece of writing.
Lawchan’s various oneshots - There isn’t a great compilation for them right now so the best I can do is give you her tag for it and you can comb through it yourself. I like some more than others here, but they’re all very well-written - my only gripes with some of them are my own tastes in subject matter, so have fun perusing this on your own.
I Will Always Be There For You - A really pure and wholesome Starco oneshot. Very well-written.
Post-Canon Series to Follow
I figured with the show being over, and so many people starting their own series, I should include a lot of them here even if I’m personally not the biggest fan just to help gather them up so people can decide for themselves. Little bit looser on judgment here.
*Life on Earthni A to Z - Non-chronological postcanon slice of life oneshots, Starco and some Globclipsa and Jantom. Overall really good so far, one of my favorites in terms of direction.
*When Dimensions Cleave (sequel - Unforgettable Getaway) - Another postcanon series hellbent on bringing back magic queen lore, but it has some solid Starco fluff still. Credit where it’s due, the “Star constantly freaking out over what a horrible person she was” bit that I called preachy in the prior rec post gets somewhat less preachy and does end up actually going somewhere as part of character development, but I’m left scratching my head at how they all act sometimes. The good parts are certainly good, though, and in terms of quantity of lovey dovey Starco, it really can’t be beat (especially the sequel) and that’s worth something by itself.
We’re a Miracle - Extra adorkable postcanon fluff. Lighter on the “but ACKSHUALLY MAGIC IS BACK” stuff compared to the others, but it’s there, like almost every postcanon fic in existence.
Star vs the Sands of Time - Heavy politic/lore postcanon fic, not my fav but if that’s more your thing then great. Has some casual Starco too.
Goodbye Isn’t Forever - More POV dives into Cleaved.
Fake Proposal - Some decent jokey but cute fluff
The Stars Above - Some exploration of Earthni
New World - A bit over-the-top meta, but fun fluff
The Starlight Justiciar - Four years after canon, some social change plot stuff and some decent Starco. Not the biggest fan of some of the plot stuff but check it out for yourself!
Starco vs the Forces of Evil - Another collab fic/art thing. Fair warning, I really am not personally a huge fan of a lot of the characterization and plot decisions here (see my notes on Sign of the Moon waaaay down below) but decide for yourself, don’t let my pickiness dictate your own preferences!
Ready For The Future - Technically a oneshot (with some Starco) but sets up some Mina plot, if you’re interested in more give it a follow/review.
Worlds Together - Some Starco and exploration of Earthni.
Epilogue -  Some Starco and exploration of Earthni.
***A Dark Horse - Has a few really nice lovey dovey Starco bits but also lots of superdrama with politics stuff. There’s a lot of fics here that I honestly just windowshop the scene I like for a quick fix of dopamine every now and then and skim at most otherwise, and this is one.
Revolution - end of canon AU where Moon is as anti-monster as Mina, dark as fuck. Only putting it here cuz some of y’all angstlords might like it.
Shorter Works/Oneshot Collections
I’ll Carry Your World - Big ole’ ball of wonderful Starco fluff with an important moment between them (written before end of show so a bit divergent).
***LoveIsTheStrongestKindOfMagic - Very short and basic fluff.
Starco Week 5 (Hugs Included) - Some of it is postcanon Earthni oneshots and others are from the Light of the Sun and Stars AU (see above). Great author, fun as hell writing style.
Fragile - Star worries about keeping her boyfriend Marco safe.
Complete - An older Star reflects on her past and present. Short and sweet.
Knighthood - Simple fluff piece on if Star and Marco got together after Storm the Castle.
Too Hot to Move - Star and Marco try to survive a heat wave on Earthni. Also funny fluff.
Marco Make-out Mayhem - Star really likes kissing Marco. Funny fluff.
Cleaved Together - NSFW warning, non-explicit (aged up) - Star and Marco’s first time. Very very overly focused on the whole purity/sacredness of first time thing, but still pretty cute.
Like Us - Really nice, sweet casual reflection on her life with Marco from a future Star’s POV.Toothpaste Kisses - Short fluff about its title.
A Friend’s Memento - Starco fluff with some reflection on the results of destroying magic
Plum Pie - Some goofy antics and hurt/comfort.
Not Losing You - A little dive into Marco’s POV at the end of Cleaved. Also adds a kiss.
We Belong Together - More speculative slightly angsty comfort/fluff.
Enough - A nice study of the emotions and thoughts during the last scenes of Cleaved, adds some depth to it.
Heartless - A bit of angst over magic going away with some sweet Starco comfort.
Together - Post-Cleaved Starco megafluff.
My Prince - Starco fluff set in a world where they were together before Cornonation.
Dancing with a Star - Starco fluff from alt S4.
Love in the Time of Pancakes - Written hours after my last update of the list, another little ditty based on the pancake promo.
Pancakes - Fluffy S4-promo-based little oneshot.
Hers - Hurt/comfort/confession-y fic, has some really nice moments and shows off a lot of how much they care about each other. Nice to see after such a drought.
Someone to Stay - Another hurt/comfort fic, nice and simple.
A Viola, a Violin, and a Butterfly’s Sword - some nonlinear oneshots about Starco. Some kinda weird directions gone in with the “plot” but it’s pretty good overall.
Falling - One of many, many fics from throughout the fandom’s history about Star and Marco getting together. Short and sweet.
forget about white horses & once upon a time - Drabble collection of various moments scattered throughout Star and Marco’s lives. Cute fluff.
The One Where I Thought I Lost You - Post-BFM fic where Marco realizes his feelings for Star earlier. Very wholesome.
christmases when you were mine - Established relationship fluff.
lightning in your veins, thunder in your heart - Post-season 3 established relationship fluff (slightly divergent, written before 3B).
once upon a december - Established relationship fluff.
Flags - Alternate rendition of the episode “Flags” with Starco.
Spells and Hot Chocolate - Wintry fluff.
5 Ways to Say ‘I Love You’ - Post BFM with some events in Star and Marco’s lives.
You’re My Wish Come True - This is just indulgent Starco trash. I won’t even argue for the characterization/writing quality, this is just a straight-up guilty pleasure.
Wands and Nachos - ^
The Princess and the Safe Kid - ^
A Day in the Life of Starco - ^
A very Starco Xmas - ^
Could It Be -^
All the times Star wore Marco’s hoodie - ^
Protect Me, Squire - ^
Crushed - Star and Marco both get turned down by their respective crushes and find comfort in each other.
Stay - Cuddly fluff. There’s another Stay out there which I frankly can’t stand with will-they-won’t-they melodrama out the wazoo, so don’t get confused.
Longer Series
*The Inescapable Us - Really tropey miscommunication will-they-won’t-they type of thing. Not my fav, especially now that the show is over and finished that leg of Star and Marco’s story once and for all (I’m personally WAY less interested in things that redo something canon already did). However, where it’s at now has some really good Starco moments. Fully admitted that I hella skimmed most of it until the parts I enjoyed, but And if you’re more fine with that type of thing then you’ll probably really like it, it’s well-written otherwise.
Together We Fall - Throwback S2 AU fic where Star and Marco go to the dance together instead and Toffee makes moves earlier. Gets kinda dark but has a lot of nice Starco along the way.
Safer, Sorrier - A recent rewrite of an older fic, Better Safe Than Sorry, where Star has to leave early to become queen and Marco is alone for a few months before they reunite. A very dated premise (post season 1 ish) but quite good.
Sugar and Spice - NSFW warning, non-explicit (NOT aged-up characters). In this fic, Star and Marco have gotten together after BFM, and a spell gone wrong leads to Mewberty relapses with obvious consequences. This fic has adorable Starco moments, but what I love this for above all is the other character interactions (especially Glossaryck and Star’s parents). This is probably a controversial add-on to the list, but I stick by my decision - if the subject matter isn’t your thing, then by all means avoid it.
Beyond Dimensions - Plotfic + established Starco where some ancient sorceress has to trap Star to escape and try to take over Mewni. Maybe y'all are more into plot stuff than me but the Starco that’s there is quite good regardless.
Starfall - NSFW warning, explicit (aged-up characters). Probably the most popular one to make the cut. Star and Marco are forced apart and have to find their way back together. Very old fic, lot of dated stuff here, and the narration and plot itself can get kinda questionable sometimes, but it has a lot of good Starco and some interesting plot elements that make it, in my opinion, worth a read despite a lot of flaws. A few epilogue chapters contain rather explicit sexual content, so be wary of that (and the epilogue itself after Ep 6 kinda transitions into a nextgenverse, so maybe just skip that entirely).
The Star Butterfly Effect - The sole fic on the list that is purely plot-based, with very little actual Starco development whatsoever. I can’t even really explain it, just give it a shot and see what you think; I was rather engrossed by the plot, and that’s rare for me.
The Princess and her Knight, Return of the Empire The former fic in this series is way more character-based, while the latter is very heavy plot stuff. Pretty decent character writing with some fluff. There’s a third that I honestly can’t recommend because I completely dropped it because it was just a nonstop war story.
Experimental - REALLY heavy, dark AU where Star and Marco are tortured and corrupted. It’s pretty decent.
Blood Moon Blitz - Alt BFM fic of Marco going to fight Toffee with Star. unfortunately dropped without completing, but what’s there is pretty solid.
Read at Your Own Risk…
The Sign of the Moon, The Dance of the Stars - Starts post-3A, involves the growth of Star and Marco’s relationship as they take on foes in and out of the castle and learn more about the Blood Moon. This series is rather… melodramatic, and there were some chapters and character interactions I flat out did not enjoy reading. But some people aren’t as strict on character interpretations as I am and would love such a long plot-based Starco fic, so overall I still will at least list it and let you decide for yourself. There might be a third entry in this series now, but I dropped it before then.
Photos - I hesitate to include this one here because the “Tom is a perfect angel who must sacrifice his love for Star” thing pisses me off. But just skip all that (and ignore the random “a part of me will always love Tom” line) and it’s a really nice post-s3 confession fic.
