Part 2 of Children of The Night
‐---------‐----------------
It has been a month sense the meeting between Scar and Grian. Grian was able to complete the job and was payed as promised. The down side is the towns he and places he's been to after, tried everything to get his work free or tried to con him out of money. He even killed a man in the middle of a crowd because that man was harassing him for a free map. It start would affect his reputaion greatly after so good people wouldn't hire him but con-artists relish in the inability of him getting a job.
As he adventure from town to town. He desided he's had enough of these scam towns. He'll be heading to the central city of the world. A safe haven he once called home. He hopes his friends, old friends haven't heard anything about what happened yet.
On the road he met a man that called himself "The Hero's Shadow," really his name is Green. He explained to Grian that he calls himself that as a jab to his older brother Blue, who is widely known to be a hero named Link. Grian couldn't help but laugh as Green walked with him, and goes on to tell the story of his eldest brother becoming a Hero for a short time, and called himself HotGuy for the time he played hero. The reason he stopped being a hero was because it maybe Blue feel useless. Their brother has never like seeing people frown, and Grian wouldn't be an exception.
Grian ends up traveling with Green all the way to The Central City, listening to anystory Green could think to tell of his sibling. Green talked a lot more about the eldest, then he did about Blue. On Green's part, that was on purpose, as Scar would sometimes talk about the little things he noticed about the cartographer. Just out of nowhere while they do mundane tasks. So he's here playing a bit of match maker, and scaring the living out of his brothers.
When they made it to the city gate, the one they are walking up to is normally guarded, but their isn't a guard in sight. Green sighs in response and calls out. "I know you both are there, and I'm not sorry I snuck off." A dark chuckle fills the air as two silhouette step to the center of the gate. One of them opens their eyes, and glares at Green in disapproval. He then speaks, "Green what even was the point of this, we know you well enough that you did this for a dumb reason"
The other opens his eyes and look to the other and interjects, trying to quell their brothers hostility. "Now Blue, calm down. Green isn't alone right now, so I would like you to mind your manners."
Blue hangs his head a rubs the back of his neck, ashamed that he went off like he did. And Grian tears up, reconizing the voice of the second figure and wispers his name in the happies way. Because he knew, even if at first he thought it was a dream, that what happened was real. Scar didn't miss the whisper of his name, but didn't bring attention to it as Green spoke to explain his reason for running off. "The reason I ran off is that Scar just doesn't seem to want to let go of the time he spent with Grian. So I had a thought, the same thought Scar had when getting you and your wife together. I wasn't just going to let Scar reminisce on the short amount of time they shared when they can spend everyday together."
With a sigh, Green streches and turns to Grian. "I didn't want you to regret the discussion of let go of the person, that made you so happy in such a short amount of time. So don't waste this and keep your new friend safe. Show him the new city in The End if you will, the gate is in the center under the city." Green looks back at his brother midway through his speach, and started walking towards them and then past.
Scar's eyes are no longer glowing, and his form nolonger abstructed by shadow. He is visibly embarrassed by what Green said, but he was also very thankful for his brothers antics. He wouldn't have had the courage to meet Grian again if it was left to him. Grian was paying close attention to Scar during the whole conversation, and was suprised how quickly Scar became flustered by his brothers words. Then he himself realized what Green was implying and just curls up embarrassed out of his mind.
It cought Blue's attention how the two acted, and it caused him to laugh at just how obvious the two are. The two might as well have fallen in love at first sight. "Alright, sense Green has most likely headed to his girlfriend at the bakery. I'm going back to the nether to spend time with my wife. You both have fun because if Green's right you'll be spending the rest of eternity together." Blue teased as he walked away from the embarrassed duo.
The tease made Grian groan in frustration at both Scar's younger brothers, who are apparently identical twins, and the teasing they don't deserve. But knowing they are twins, Hero's Shadow makes much more sense. When Grian decides to look at Scar, he finds Scar's moved from his spot. Grian screams when he gets picked up suddenly, only to find it was Scar who picked him up. "SCAR! Don't scare me like that. I don't think I can handle anymore of this after your brothers." Grian huffs as Scar laughs and puts him back down. Grian turn to face Scar, wanting to say something but can't find the words. So Scar is the first to speak. "Grian, my brother only tease because they always thought I wouldn't find someone, I be so will to give my life for, to protect, to love. Just someone that would allow me to relax with them."
Scar holds Grian's waist and starts to sway, with a stupid grin and a thoughtful look. "I didn't really think it would happen in the first thousand years of my life, because my father found the love of his life when he first became 10,000 years old. That was 250 years ago now, and he never regreted falling for a Born Woman."
Grian is shock to learn where Scar came from, but to imagine he thought his love would be much like his Father's, it first makes him frown. Then it makes him smile, because Scar didn't have to wait such a long time. To find eachother. Yeah he'll admit that Scar has been on his mind, but to start dating so soon, would be the biggest risk of his life. Oh who are we kidding, he loves the risk, he's a cartographer for a reason. "Scar, we both know now fate has a different plan for you and I, so why not leap and see where we'll be off to next. Map out the course of our lives." Grian said lean on Scar, one hand on his chest, the other cupping his face.
"We have all the time in the world to spend together. Why not make it an adventure, you and me?" He buried his head into Scar's neck, feeling him quickly tense and relax to a point he might as well have been puddy in the others hands. Grian giggle at the reaction, he'll get the answer to why it happened later regardless of if he asked or not. It's just seemed like Scar didn't want to speak of it here, and well Scar picks Grian up again with ease, and nuzzles him with what sound like a purr.
"I'll do anything you ask, anything you say. If you want an adventure then let start in my domain and see the city there. While there we can even get you a place on my cartography team. A diamond block for every map made, even if it's not for the ends library."
Grian laughs, cocking his head to the side. "Now why would you pay me for work that isn't being brought to the end? That doesn't seem like it be worth it." Scar smiles at Grian, and kisses their cheek.
"The rest of my Cartography team, tend to make copies of your work leaving the copy and taking the Original for the end. Thats why your getting pay for every map made, not every map brought back." Scar response makes Grian laugh so hard that he start to hold onto Scar for his dear life. Scar laughs along side him think of how ridiculous of a remark it truely was, endermen making copies of 40 meter wide and tall maps, and just taking them home. Doesn't seem real, but he seen it enough that he knows it's never going away.
‐-------------------------
And there it is, the second part with some random bonding with the sibling.
The next part will have some of the other hermit, but it probably going to be mostly the redstoners, as I want to call them redstone artisans. I also feel like it just makes sense for redstone in minecraft to just be an art of it's own. In real life there are interactive art pieces, so redstone can be just like that for minecraft.
Next part will be Grian and Scar wondering the Central City before going to the end to see the rising Great End City.
MAN I love their banter, the brothers an Scar- and the teasing to Scar and Grian. They're adorable
this is amazing!! :D im excited to see whats next!
