I’m rewatching supernatural, and I can’t believe I never realised this before, but sam and dean are the exact opposite of what they think of themselves. In the brothers’ eyes Sam is the more emotionally open one, or the one with more empathy, and yet he struggles to make close relationships that aren’t romantic. He keeps everyone at arms distance: john, mary, bobby, cas, and so many other examples throughout the series. Whereas dean is supposed to be closed off and emotionally stunted, and yet he has deeper connections with almost all recurring characters: garth, jody, donna, claire (obviously the ones mentioned before). He lets people in more easily than sam. Even how he knows all the shopkeepers in lebanon, whereas they don’t seem to know sam (ie 14x13).

A lot can be said about Nara Smith but a) she’s not even a sahm she has a modeling career, b) she never claimed to be a tradwife or share their values iirc and c) she was never an influencer she is a model who just made videos like she was never an influencer her job is being a professional model

I think one of the things that made me feel icky about TSATS was that camp was empty??? 

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I cant remember there being any reason for literally every camper to leave. I know that CHB gets emptier during winter as demigods go back to their families for school or whatever, but there was always enough to keep it running. 

CHB isn’t supposed to be empty, because there will always be someone who needs a place to live. I understand that lots of the older demigods will be going to college and moving into apartments I guess, and of course there's CJ to think about, but surely there's people who stay?

It just feels a bit wrong, like the fact that Percy and the main characters of all the series are moving on, which is great, can’t be separated from the worldbuilding and everything we know about the Riordan verse. 

All of those younger demigods without mortal parents aren’t growing up and moving away, so where are they going?

I feel fandom would get along a lot better if there was mutual understanding that liking a character, agreeing with a character, and thinking the character is well constructed/executed are all separate (if often overlapping) positions, each with their separate tastes and subjectivities. Also: character portrayals are intended to make the audience feel things; this is separate from (if often overlapping with) analyzing/appreciating their actions and role in the story.

could you imagine if everyone pretty quickly figures out Loops identity but doesn’t mention it because it’s rude to talk about who someone was before they Changed? like Odile finally reveals to the rest of the party that loop was SECRETLY SIFFRIN THE WHOLE TIME!!! and everyone’s like “madame that’s very rude you should apologize” because of course they already figured it out, people they know go through changes all the time, they know how to spot a friend that looks different

in The Wigmaker Job and to a lesser extent Veilguard we get a great deal of exposition/clues into how painfully observant Lucanis is. part of him being a top tier assassin is his ability to be hyperaware of everything going on around him and interpreting what that information means correctly, because if he gets it wrong he can die. so i don’t personally really think he was ever truly unaware that Rook was flirting or interested in him. i think instead his denial/avoidance about it stems from the fact that he feels like he is tricking Rook into thinking he’s someone deserving of love. he knows that they are interested in him, he just thinks they shouldn’t be, and wouldn’t want to be if they knew the “real him”
