2ND-5 LOG 0012
Okay, is - is that over? Is it - my head still hurts. What happened?
I have to say, I've never inhabited a robot before. I don't - where did all of these... jewels come from? Why are they... okay.
I, uh. Wow. Uh, just...
Oh. It's - it started trying to record again? I guess - was that the last thing I was doing? My head. I'm fairly certain the - this body was dead, right? Definitely dead? Or, uh, turned off? I'm not... I mean, if it wasn't, I'm not normally that bad at retaining control, just... Ugh, I'm gonna pass out.
Breathe. Breathe. Hah. I'm the only... Imagine if any others were here to see me like this.
...
Hard to get these limbs to move right now. Unfortunately I still need them.
Uh. Things. Things I've...
Wait, where are my things? I could have sworn - I'd decided to use the pick instead of...
No, I just have the scythe now. And - I could have. Knowledge? I'm definitely one star less? I.
Maybe I should stop recording. I feel sick. It's a good thing this body is - is this a robot? It feels like it is, but...
How did I end up in this thing, anyway?
I, uh, hadn't been asking much. Things - I didn't know exactly why I was here but it had to be good for the Hive somehow but I've been here so long and there's no one else and what just...
Ow. Okay. I can't stand yet. Definitely can't stand yet. Uh. Man. How do I stop... Stop recording. Stop...

New Recruit | Simon Riley x Masked!GN!Reader
To keep this as neutral as possible since anon did not specify the gender, this is written in 2nd POV.
There are some spanish sentences here and although I’m actually learning the language with Duolingo (lmao) I used a translator for this, I apologize if it sounds clunky. I googled how to use gender neutral forms but I’m not sure if I did it correctly sooo.
Also, this is very short because I can’t for the love of god, produce words and a correct sentence in my head at the moment.
Fandom: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)

Summary: A new member joins taskforce 141 for the hunt of Hassan but you are not what the others expect. Something sparks in Ghost when he shares eye contact with you and you two are on the same eye level.

It was already unusual for the taskforce to get a new member. Therefore it was even more unusual to get one in the middle of an important operation in another country.
It wasn't exactly convenient but when would it ever be?
Fact was that Hassan Zyani, a major of the terror organization Al Qatala escaped their grasps.
They needed to work with Mexican Special Forces to follow his tracks, so if it was one more member or two, it didn’t really matter now.
Yet it was quite a surprise when Ghost and Soap heard the news.
"Someone will join you in México, a new member of the taskforce. I wanted to introduce the lieutenant a bit later, but Chryso was in the country anyways, so I guess now is as good as ever."
Ghost listened silently to his captain on speaker phone while Soap asked the questions lingering in his head; what kind of muppet name was Chryso? And why would the soldier join them right now when they had something so important to do?
Trusting a stranger in a hostile environment wasn’t exactly an easy thing to do.
Price ignored Soap’s words deliberately and continued:
“Chryso is already known to the Los Vaqueros and Alejandro and as you're aware they know their way around in Las Almas. Be nice and protect your backs. We will talk later and I’m sure Chryso will answer any questions you have.”
Great, Ghost thought and looked at the flabbergasted Soap who stared at the phone display showing the end of the call.
“He just hung up?? What the hell... I feel like someone just told me my sister got married in secret and I have to meet her husband.”
He raised an eyebrow but the other obviously couldn’t see it behind his skull mask.
“You have a sister?”
Soap blinked.
“No, but if I had one...”
Ghost sighed. He hoped that the new addition to the team wouldn’t mess up their operation and would focus on the task at hand. Catching Hassan.
-
You startled out of your sleep when you heard your call sign.
“They’re arriving in 5, Chryso” said Felipe, the Los Vaqueros soldier who was on the look out with you in one of the abandoned shacks close to the village where intel suggested Hassan Zyani’s location.
Your last undercover mission had taken a toll on your body and you tried to make up for it by napping whenever you could. Felipe’s humming had made you drowsy and apparently your consciousness had slipped away for a bit.
A quick glance at your combat watch proved that you had slept more than an hour and you sat up straight quickly.
“Perdón, you know my last OP still got me fucked up... Did anything move?”
“No pasa nada.”
The man waved his hand dismissively and watched as you stood up and stretched your arms. He had to tilt his head slightly to look up to you. Felipe's eyes wandered over your mask and then he said:
“They’re staying put and keeping quiet.”
You breathed out and rolled your shoulder. Maybe you shouldn’t have slept in such an uncomfortable position...
You were about to meet two members of Taskforce 141 - your new team - and group up with them and the Los Vaqueros to participate in one of their missions. No chit-chat and icebreakers, just business, straight-up.
This was how work had always been with Captain John Price for the few times you had fought together, so it didn’t exactly bother you. But it was making you a bit antsy that he wouldn’t be part of the operation.
You weren’t exactly keen on entrusting your back to total strangers. Not with your... special circumstances.
Your habit of wearing a mask 24/7 often confused other people and many soldiers had treated you slightly differently due to it. Whether it was done deliberately or subconsciously, it often hampered with the beginning of your new relationships until people finally got used to it. Which usually took a while. Seen by the lack of other soldiers accompanying you and Felipe.
Strangely Price didn’t seem to react much to your mask. Maybe that was why you felt comfortable around him. He didn’t treat you any different, he had just looked at it once and then moved on.
You hadn’t told him why you were wearing it but if anyone had to know, you would probably feel most comfortable telling him.
And when you had signed the contract to work as a new member of taskforce 141 you had mulled about doing it. Possibly when you would first see him again. You had believed that it would be today.
But he wouldn’t be part of this mission, which he told you 2 days ago. Instead Lieutenant Simon Riley and Sergeant John Mactavish would cover your back.
You had heard their names before when Price talked to you about joining the taskforce but you didn’t know anything specific about them besides their names and ranks.
And Rodolfo and Alejandro didn’t let anything slip when you asked them if they knew anything about the two soldiers.
They did know more than you but based on the little smirk around Alejandro’s lips they purposely kept information from you, which annoyed you slightly.
But well, Alejandro was a colonel, furthermore the leader of Los Vaqueros and he obviously had to be informed about his allies in such a special operation.
You knew not to question him and he wouldn’t keep anything dangerous from you, he wasn’t like that that’s what you could tell based on the few days you had spent at the Las Almas base. He kept his soldiers safe, had to in the corruption-filled town.
And you would meet the other taskforce members soon anyways.
So you decided to focus on the task at hand and ignore everything else. Whether that would involve strange looks and stupid comments about your mask or not.
The Al Qatala terrorist had to be caught by all means. The files you had received told you enough about the threat he posed to basically everyone in this world. He wouldn’t escape your grasp. Not under your watch.
You strapped your black vest tighter and checked your gear.
A low hum announced the distant approach of some vehicles and Felipe looked out the window to see 3 black jeeps drive down the dirt road.
“They’re inbound.”
You nodded and followed him out of the room down the stairs.
-
"I have a feeling you'll fit right in, just like Y/N."
Ghost was still mulling over the strange comment of Rodolfo Parra, when they spotted the army checkpoint and Alejandro explained why they had to evade it and he forgot the words quickly.
However, when their convoy arrived at the other side of the river in their AO, he and Soap exited the truck and a few seconds later when he first exchanged eye contact with you, he remembered the words instantly.
You had just moved out of the shack, following a Los Vaqueros soldier. Your back was turned towards the convoy when the man told you something and he gesticulated while you checked your back pockets.
Ghost noted that the soldier talking to you was at least a head smaller than you. You were clad in back and his interest peaked when he realized that your head was covered by a hood. Oh...?
He followed Soap behind Alejandro and Rodolfo and walked up to you while the other Los Vaqueros soldiers readied their guns and spread out.
“No me gusta el hecho de que no tengamos refuerzos” he heard you say through your clenched teeth and your counterpart hummed in agreement.
Alejandro coughed and you turned to face them while he introduced you to him and Soap. Your eyes roamed over them and they lingered a bit longer on him, which made Ghost’s heart beat quicker for some reason.
“This is lieutenant Y/N L/N”, the colonel announced and the smirk on his lips suddenly made sense. He just stared and Soap did the same.
“Just call me Chryso” you said and gave Alejandro an annoyed look that the other ignored and you turned your head back to look at Ghost and you stretched out your hand.
Ghost’s voice was rougher than usual when he told you his name:
“...Simon Riley, but call me Ghost.”
He shook your hand with a firm grip. Hazel and e/c eyes met, both hidden in the shadows of a mask. He caught a glimpse of your spirit in the e/c shade and noted that the skin around your eyes was also hidden behind black makeup.
“Nice to meet you, Lieutenant.”
Fuck, he thought when he realized that he could gaze directly into your eyes without lifting or lowering his head.
And bloody fucking hell, he thought when he realized that in a very strange way he found that mask of yours attractive. Like you were mirroring him, like you two belonged together, like you were meant to be his and he was meant to be yours.
There were not many things that Ghost found immediately attractive upon meeting someone.
He considered himself to be more of a “character”-person than someone who cared about appearances first but there were some things that just drew him in...
Pretty smiles for example. Or the hint of a strong character in one’s eyes. But what really invited his immediate attraction was what Soap had called the most surprising and strangest thing ever when he accidentally spilt this piece of information during one of their long scouting sessions; when someone was just as tall as him.
There was just something about someone being his height that created a spark in his chest.
“That’s a fucking kink” Soap had said back then. Looking at you now and considering the growing feeling in his chest, the scot might have been right.
He let go of your hand before he was holding onto it for too long but he kept his eyes on you even when you had already turned towards Soap to shake his hand.
“Sergeant John Mactavish, but call me Soap.”
The sergeant shook your hand enthusiastically and grinned from ear to ear. He glanced at him and Ghost’s alarm went off in his head.
“You have pretty long legs eh? How tall exactly are you?”
You blinked and Ghost couldn’t stop himself from groaning inwardly when he saw slight confusion and annoyance in your eyes.
“Roughly 6′3 if I remember correctly.”
Soap looked at him but Ghost ignored the stare deliberately and when Alejandro told them to follow him, you immediately turned away from them and hurried to fall into the colonel’s and Rodolfo’s step.
“Oh dios, lo dijo.” Rodolfo said and laughed and Ghost cursed himself for not learning more Spanish on the way here when you groaned. He was about 99% sure this was about your interaction just now.
"¿Dijo que?" Alejandro asked, his voice now lower as they moved closer to the houses, weapons raised.
"Una de las tres cosas que Y/N odia a que le pregunte.¿’Por qué Chryso como apodo’? ¿’Por qué llevas una máscara’? y ¿’Qué tan alte eres’?”
Rodolfo muttered and while the colonel laughed quietly you only sighed.
Ghost didn’t understand what exactly was going on but based on the mocking tone Rodolfo used for his last few words, it was probably something bad. He also mentioned your call sign and he was smart enough to know that the conversation was most likely about them.
As much as it bothered him, they had already reached the stone wall so he turned his attention to the mission at hand.
“Where’s Hassan?” he asked.
“White two-story building at the back”, Alejandro replied and two seconds later they entered the gate and he didn’t have time anymore to think about your height, nor your skull mask that seemed to compliment his own and the fact that your utility straps nicely showed off your thighs.
-
But all these thoughts and much more rushed through his mind after he had helped you out of the river.
It had already been hard for him to breathe with his mask but your experience with yours had been much worse, the cloth wasn’t exactly made for missions involved with water and you - in your words “almost got waterboarded back there”.
Added to the harsh landing in the river and the bullet graze on your left arm, you weren’t exactly feeling your best and you felt exhausted for a moment, so much so that you had to drag your limbs out of the water when it was your turn.
The soldier in front of you turned around and you looked up at him from your cowering position where you had temporarily bandaged your wound.
Ghost offered you his hand and you took it.
“Thanks” you huffed and he pulled you up with more force than necessary which messed with your balance and made you take a step forward.
He could see a waterdroplet on the tip of your eyelashes and his heart stuttered when he noticed how close you two suddenly were. Your loud breathing made his ears tingle and he took a step back, though not letting go of your hand.
“You good, Chryso?”, he asked, ignoring his imagination where you were panting for a different reason. Jesus Christ, you were injured. And he hadn’t even seen your face yet.
You nodded and he let go of your, pointing at your left arm.
“I’ll bandage your arm in the car, that wrap is a sad excuse of first aid.”
You huffed in annoyance but he saw how your eyes turned into slight halfmoons again, showing him that you were actually smiling.
“Whatever, lieutenant.”
You walked past him, waving your hand in dismissal and he followed you, a small grin on his lips, definitely not sneaking a glance at that ass in those wet black cargo pants.
-
“I’m really curious... What kind of muppet name is Chryso?”
Alejandro snorted. “Y dale.”
You sighed beside Ghost while he secured the re-wrapped bandage. Soap looked at you through the front mirror.
“We had this guy in my unit, Turner, he was a huge biology nerd. When he first met me, he just said ‘Chrysocyon brachyurus’  which is the scientific name for the maned wolf in South America.”
Soap tilted his head in confusion when Alejandro laughed. “Okay...?”
The colonel tapped the steering wheel. “They have really long legs, hermano. Really long.”

The training sets and qualifying sets for these 6-8 grade math problems can be intense because of what the committee decides is valid for .5 point of a point score. Yesterday in a show your work type question there were different possibilities. I was so sleep deprived so that made concentration worse. Apparently most people failed the first training set anyway. 70 is passing. I got a 40 😧. My honor student heart about died. There are 2 training sets and 2 qualifying sets in general and by the time I did the 2nd qualifying set I brought it up to 100.
The grading itself is pretty easy, though. And sometimes the answers crack me up. One of them yesterday translated to, "I don't know but he has to type pretty fast to finish that report". The question was about typing rates, how many were pages complete out of a 3 page paper and how many minutes were needed for the paper to be completed.

Akabane Karma in the official character book, p. 1-2 translation
I haven't done these for a long while, but the mood suddenly struck me. I know that Karma's pages have already been translated, so in a sense this is kind of pointless, but I still wanted to do this. I mean, I did Gakushuu's part ages ago (or that's how it feels, anyway), and as they're fighting for the #1 spot for me (isn't that just fitting?), I kind of felt like I had to do Karma too. So, here we go!
As usual, I mainly did this to practice Japanese, and there might be mistakes... though this time I could check if I was in agreement with the other translation when I was unsure about something, so there shouldn't be anything too bad. XD Early on there's one sentence that totally baffled me, tho... My comments are in [brackets].
Tumblr media
“I won’t lose. The one to take sensei’s life is me.”
Having tasted defeat, Karma came to understand the feelings of those who lose and learned to sympathize with his companions and got closer to the weak.
(The manga panel is from when he told the Big 5 that he was the only one in 3 E who’d taken the 2nd mid-term exam seriously.)
Everything is perfect – the genius boy of E class
He was suspended after a violent incident. He is something of a slacker, but his skill for studying and assassination, as well as his physical strength, are all top class.
Code name: Chuuniban (by Hazama) [or should I say cord name? XD Sorry… ^^;;]
Chuunibyous tend to take an unexpected look at things. In Karma’s case… [...I became completely confused. Something like taking an unexpected look on unexpected look on even further on an unexpected look… I’ve no idea. If anyone can give me a sensible translation of アイツの場合斜め上の更に斜め上のそのまた斜め上から見んだけど結局1つ上にはいけてないのよ please do. ^^ It’s very 斜め上, that’s all I can say. The other translation didn't give a literal translation of this either, just this: “a person with Chuunibyou is supposed to see things a certain way, but because he’s doing it in a half-assed way, she’s basically calling him a half-assed Chuunibyou”]
[Chuunibyou, in case you’re not familiar with the term, means a teenager with grandiose delusions who tries to stand out in every way possible. Gundham Tanaka, anyone? <;3 It literally translates to “second-year syndrome” (second year of junior high, that is). The -ban in Chuuniban means half, so yeah…. half-assed  chuunibyou.]
(Bottom left corner) His specialty is provoking his opponent through pranks and harassment. His skill for provocation is also first class.
Code name: Chuunibyou Birthday: December 25 Height: 175 cm Weight: 60 kg Blood type: AB Favorite subject: math Least favorite subject: Japanese Special skills: provocation, pranks, pestering Clubs he belongs to: Going Home club Treasury: Collection of spices from around the world Favorite food: “煮オレ” (ni ore) series (the brand of those strawberry milks he always drinks) Bento or buying snacks: buying snacks Election poster: In any case, I want to be manipulating from behind the scenes
Tumblr media
Regular examination, announcement of results from Korosensei
First school term mid-terms
English 98 p. (2nd) Japanese 98 p. (2nd) Math: 100 p. (1st) Sciences: 99 p. (2nd) Social studies: 99 p (2nd) 5 main subjects: 494 p. (4th)
First school term finals
English 96 p. (2nd) Japanese 96 p. (2nd) Math: 85 p. (10th) Sciences: 97 p. (2nd) Social studies: 95 p (2nd) 5 main subjects: 494 p. (13th)
[Kind of funny how he did so badly in his best subject, while keeping the second position on all the others. I’m a little surprised his overall ranking is that bad… how does the math work here? (It’s not my strongest point XD)]
Second school term mid-terms
English 98 p. (2nd) Japanese 98 p. (2nd) Math: 100 p. (1st) Sciences: 98 p. (2nd) Social studies: 98 p (1st) 5 main subjects: 492 p. (2nd)
[Seems like people on A class did worse on the second term. I mean, Karma got the second place, even though he had two points less than in the first mid-terms, where he placed fourth. Also, there’s no grades from the finals, because it hadn’t happened yet in the manga when this book was published.]
Karasuma-sensei’s assassination skill assessment
He was a little lacking in serious attitude, but that changed during the summer break. His combat ability is at the top of E class, and he has good intuition and learning ability.
[I figured it’s easier to show these on the chart]
Tumblr media
[About the technique part: the preparations refers especially to food preparation.]
His taijutsu skills are also great, to the extent that he could hold his own in one-on-one match against Grip.
He excels in the situational analysis of the opponent’s real strength and can also make decisions calmly.
Bitch-sensei’s fashion check
(Speech bubble) The brat is very brat-like, but he doesn’t have bad fashion taste. Design is also important, but the base to being smartly dressed is to wear something that fits your body. He’s style is so-so, but he's still growing. [Possibly both literally and figuratively. XD]
School uniform
Summer or winter, Karma wears a black cardigan. In summertime he rolls up the sleeves to adjust the heat.
Ordinary clothes
Just from simple coordination, even with layered clothing his sense of (clothing) size and so also his silhouette are perfect.

ive never actually watched a stardom match and im really bad at learning new things, so how would you recommend watching matches? and do you have recs for what matches to watch first?
AHH I'm so so happy to hear you're even thinking about checking them out I love getting asks like this!
Okay so idk what your familiarity is with pro wrestling but if you've like never watched wrestling at all my friend wrote a guide to starting with Japanese pro wrestling here. It's targetted towards people also learning Japanese and much more comprehensive promotion wise than just Stardom so the part you'd want to read is the one labeled "How プロレス storytelling works".
As for how to watch Stardom like the literal steps of how to find Stardom matches, I answered that in my sort-of beginner's guide here. (I talked about a couple other companies as well but me being me it's mostly Stardom.) tl;dr kind of the only way to watch Stardom matches in full and in decent quality is just paying for a sub to Stardom World. There are pirate sites but they tend to only have big shows and top out at 15 year old cellphone quality, and there are highlights (though I think those have become more rare?) and the weekly show on youtube if you're really not sure about the like $8, but World has everything.
As far as specific matches I have sort of two answers for this. I did, pretty recently, recommend a bunch of random matches in this post right here, and stand by those as matches I really enjoyed. Also I have since watched the QQ vs OT cagematch I mentioned there and can confirm it owns and I think the emotions will still come through even if you didn't follow the whole story.
However. That is where the second answer comes in - following stories. To be quite frank I think watching old wrestling matches is overrated, I think most of the fun is in following along with wrestling; wrestling is something happening right now. This is probably an ironic answer from someone who is like chronically a month behind bc I can't stand to ever skip a show but I am who I am. Maybe it's more accurate to say I think rewatching matches is overrated.
But anyway the simplest way to put it is my rec for matches to watch first is matches that you think look interesting that have happened pretty recently. Natsupoi and Saori Anou had a strap match on July 2nd, which is just as gay as it sounds but not in the way it sounds, I haven't watched it yet but I've heard good things. The 5 Star Grand Prix, Stardom's yearly big singles tournament, just began last weekend on the 23rd, and is a great way to get introduced to most of the wrestlers. I know the time commitment of a wrestling show can be daunting, I'm very familiar on a personal level with the way it eats time, but I think you can still get a lot from just watching a little if you can't get through everything. If you pick one person in each block and only follow their matches, you'll still get a little snippet of every other competitor to see if they hook you, y'know? Caveat if you do begin with that show though that the main event ended with a real injury, which obviously isn't fun to see happen.
If you decide you're enjoying it and want to try and start following along, my translation blog is here (it's not exhaustive and I'm behind with some stuff but I do what I can) and my asks and DMs are always open if you have questions about any stories or characters or anything.

🙈 Need Mandarin translations/confirmations for the messages the lmk creators left ASAP 🙈
Long story short, we tried to spread the animation studio switch letter Sarah posted. I speedran to Xiaohongshu (LittleRedBook/RedBook/RED); Instagram equal for China cause thought no one else would do it. This was before we found out the rest of the crew would send their regards as well.
Idk Mandarin at all so would appreciate any help. Literally just dumped everything into Google Translate.
Priority is everything in the 1st image. 2nd pic is just explanations I wrote for them in case they don't know, which idk how much they know about Flying Bark besides the fact that they thought their animation was awesome. Sometimes they share the storyboards on Bilibili/Weibo but that's about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Put them as images cause I was gonna post on Twitter, but coming here first, which also might be better instead.
The RedBook Post
Might need to go through some verification check, basically sliding things across the screen. No sign in should be required to view, though it could vary between countries.
Short Link: http://xhslink.com/kkPC3I
Link: www.xiaohongshu.com/explore/663ee802000000001e01c1bb
Reasons
If I don't get any sort of translation confirmations, I'm gonna have to update the post anyways. Right now, it's also full of ugly edits cause first time ever posting and I actually ran off to make this like the minute we were asked to do so in mk central discord. Gonna make it look nicer now that I realize it's gained traction. >_>
There's a lot of upset/angry/sad/mad fans on RedBook, Douyin, and Bilibili. Much like how we had the wildfire and death threats on Twitter except I think not as extreme to the point of sending death threats... thankfully. They didn't know about the studio change. Honestly, just trying to give them facts and reminding them they have part of the power to get the show cancelled or not; but also not telling them what to like or not like/stop grieving/etc.
Literally one of the RedBook comments on the S5 trailer LEGO China uploaded contains the picture from my post (cause I added disclaimer that it's not lego official translated). So I definitely would like to have the other translations down if they're just sharing around pictures like that. 😬 And note that they're all sharing the Mandarin ones; not the English even though I did provide them. I don't have Douyin and I dunno if I can upload on Bilibili. Weibo has been covered. Idk if there's other Chinese soc med I'm missing.

Notes for translation
Exact Mandarin/English text used in the ALTs of the pictures and "Keep Reading" section cause I realize ALT can’t copy and paste if needed
Uh please write down exactly what phrase to change, cause I do not understand any of the characters except the show title heh
1000 character limit for post, including tags and characters
Tags used: #lego乐高 #lego #悟空小侠 #乐高中国 #乐高悟空小侠 #乐高悟空小侠5年庆 #第五季 #齐小天 #孫悟空 @LEGO乐高 #乐高 If there's more that's helpful, please let me know lol been riding on these tags. If I can, I'll put English hashtags, but depends on character limit; Chinese is a priority
20 character limit for title, which I've chosen: 悟空小侠电视剧的未来🐒导演和编剧的笔记 (basically "future of LMK, directors & writers' statements/notes")
Crew member names and titles were written in the Mandarin dub credits, shown in 2nd pic. Not changing those in translations.
"Harbinger of Chaos" doesn't exist in the Mandarin version... I think? based on the s4 e7 subtitles we had way long ago. Changed Breen's tweet so it said to "find out more about MK." I guess I could've put "demon monkeys" but left that out in case they actually don't address it in the season. And idk the mandarin phrase they used for that
WildBrain Studios doesn't have a proper mandarin translation according to all the Mandarin dubbed Ninjago episodes so just kept it English
Idk if I forgot something, been having hard time keeping track of stuff oop I'll add more if there is more

Not Needed but would be nice
Flying Bark Productions has withdrawn from the animation production of "Monkie Kid". Since 2020, they have been continuously invited to participate in new projects, such as "Disney's" "Moon Girl and the Demon Dinosaur" and "Avatar Studio"'s upcoming "Avatar" film in 2026.
旋风狗制片已退出《悟空小侠》的动画制作。 自2020年以来,他们不断受邀参与新项目,例如“Disney”的《月亮女孩與惡魔恐龍》以及2026年“Avatar Studio”即将上映的《降世神通》影片。
From now on, WildBrain Studios will animate the series. They were also responsible for the Ninjago TV series, although that was in 3D rather than a 2D TV series like Monkie Kid. The writers and voice actors remain the same, but new people could join the team.
Some artists work as freelancers for the team. I don't know how WildBrain Studios' 2D department hires their artists. If they were invited back to the show, some of their work might be similar to their work from previous seasons. But that consistency may not hold true under new directors. We'll have to wait until the end of the season to see the TV show's credits.
Previous seasons used "frame-by-frame" animation, all drawn by hand. Based on the trailer, the new season appears to include the use of "rig animation," which is the use of technology to move characters and objects.
前几季使用“逐帧”动画,全部由手工绘制。根据预告片,新一季似乎包括使用“装备动画”,即使用技术来移动角色和物体。
All of these changes will impact Season 5 and beyond. I don't know how fan support affects entertainment distribution in China, but over here, if a show doesn't get enough views upon release, it may be abandoned by the distributor and have a hard time continuing. We will give as much support as possible in the West, although the success of the Monkie Kid LEGO sets and TV show has always and will always depend on its performance in China.
Change can be difficult, and it's okay if you feel disappointed or upset. While waiting over the past year, we’ve been teased by the writers and voice actors that this story will be emotional and heartbreaking, and we trust the writers who have carried the story of Monkie Kid, so I hope you will consider watching season 5.

So I haven't posted in a while. Little updates:
I finished arc 1 of Guardian in chinese again. So now I wont feel bad reading the book 1 english translation.
I took a break from chinese for a while then came back to read. And its interesting to me how much is stored like "2nd level down" in my memory. I don't recall words when trying to talk, after a long enough break. But I start reading, and my brain subvocalizes the hanzi and I can recall this Gist General Meaning of the words. Some words I recall their meaning and all, some just an overall general idea. But I havent forgotten much, nothing totally forgotten, and then most of the details of words come back within an hour or reading. Its surprising to me that reading chinese, memory wise, seems a LOT like reading french. I didnt expect it to be quite as similar a process. But it seems that remembering hanzi Words is as permanent as remembering french word stems/endings (or english ones). Reading skills have long staying power, and don't degrade much even with long breaks between usage. This is Excellent news. Since I don't have time to study much for the next several months, so I'm glad reading skills will stay as good as they are Or Improve if I read, without needing maintenance study. I'd like to improve my listening skill too, because being able to understand audiobooks would increase the chinese novels I could get through that I want to read (audiobooks would be faster than reading). But I dont have time yet for listening reading combo study, and time will tell if i do that activity WHEN and IF listening skills also gradually solidify then become reliable so one can study more sporadically and still see improvement.
My french skills are. Fascinating. I havent purposely studied in like over 5 years. I dont get that much French exposure (my google is in french but tbh google email and notifications do not use a big variety of words). But I've noticed a dramatic improvement in listening skills. My french reading skills have been fine for years. Theyre at a level where I can read like a high schooler: so i can read fiction for adults, but some words or literary devices go over my head and I have to just guess, the more in depth text analysis of themes might be a challenge, but just getting the story/information/most details is fine. I havent had to limit what i read in french in ages. Its just a matter of in french i feel like i did in high school where some fiction makes me "think hard" to grasp some points, versus english where i dont run into needing to Think Hard like that unless I'm reading something written pre-1800s. Anyway my point is: reading skills have been stable a while in french. Listening skills have markedly improved despite very little purposeful practice. I think I should probably start listening to podcasts or audiobooks some point soon. Through scattered listening to B1 and B2 comprehensible audio on youtube, and french shows, im to a point where if the audio has visual context i can follow everything going on and learn new words pretty easy. So now its just listening to french when i have no visuals to rely on, that's a struggle. I remember a few years back, i could not listen to french shows id just get confused, i needed the subtitles to follow anything. My ears mustve gotten used to french or just gotten used to Listening Better to things. Anyway, if i start trying and French Listening Only materials ill mention some progress.
Anyone have any french audiobooks or podcasts/fiction story podcasts they enjoy???
Japanese. also in a weird place. ToT. My biggest hurdle isnt even japanese: its being too chicken to challenge myself. I can play Yakuza Ishin in japanese and follow the main idea and objectives and main points in scenes. Yet i have NOT played more cause it feels Draining to grasp all that info from context and im lazy. I know if i watch a show in only japanese, with japanese subtitles, i know enough to grasp the main plot. But im lazy and its a LOT of effort to see the japanese subtitles and match new sounding words with kanji and try to remember the new pronunciation AND pay attention to the brand new plot. So i fall back onto english subs. I KNOW i can read japanese novels with a click dictionary, its just such SLOW reading, and if i just read while listening and Guess all unknown words its mentally exhausting even though its faster. I even have the easy peasy Glossika Japanese audio to listen to, but im still on lesson 36 because i have to Pay Full Attention when i listen to new lessons and im too lazy to listen with full attention ToT. I can watch lets plays in japanese, i understand them, but the effort of focusing is so much MORE than it would take if i just went to watch an english lets play where i can just hear in the background and follow it fine not even looking at it.
I am at a POINT in japanese where I CAN just learn by doing now! Which is huge! Its an incredibly useful milestone to be at! And makes future study, in the long run, much less daunting to plan as it can become just Do Stuff In Japanese to study. But since im at the beginning of this Comprehend Enough to Learn More from Context phase... learning new stuff from context still takes SO MUCH EFFORT. ITS SO DRAINING. Paying enough attention to comprehend things ive studied is exhausting, paying extra attention to new stuff and guessing what it means is draining and requires a Lot of focus. I know this is just how this stage goes but. Im so lazy.
What i need is something in japanese im SO interested in, that it drives me to engage with it even though I'm drained because im so Curious and Interested in understanding, so i push through until comprehending gets easier. Ideally, a game or show, something that plays so i am Forced to frequently proceed to the next sentence. Because with books and manga i will just stop and dwell on a paragraph for 2 hours and not learn much new stuff.
This stage is especially grating because im not in the stage with french or chinese anymore. I can listen to chinese shows in the background, check my phone while listening, not use the chinese subtitles, pay half attention while drawing. Chinese audiobooks require More attention, but i can listen to them walking or driving without subtitles/transcript and still follow the plot. With french Im to that same comfortable point with shows and youtube videos, not audio only stuff yet but i dont Engage with french audio only stuff. My point is Japanese is the only one where Im really feeling that INTENSE FOCUS drain whenever i try to engage with challenging new stuff in japanese. I dont feel an intense drain with chinese unless I read one of my harder reading level Print Novels or a higher vocab audio only material. I dont feel it with french unless Im doing it with audio only material. I feel the drain constantly with japanese.

Melris doodles that I'm sure not a lot of you would like tbh but Idc cuz I love them and I brainrot with them along side ava/avm.
This is my literal comfort ship that I would always go back to whenever I need to cope because these two are just, unnecessarily in pain like, cmon 😭
I always imagine a scenario like the 2nd and 3rd one happening and how they would cope about it. Mellohi (my oc) being a literal celestial object made the goddesses for a singular purpose, and them knowing the fact that they can easily get replaced or scrapped and how they see themselves on Iris (from fnf hex mod btw) who's purpose was to benifit the Iris corp and after that he would most likely be also scrapped.
Idk these two for some reason just... work??? yeah I mean tbf most of Iris' personality and lore is mostly hc by me since HE LACKS FUCKING CONTENT 😭😭😭 I NEED THIS MAN MOREEE RAAAAHHHHHHH
I feel like I'm the few people who's feeding the Iris enjoyers cuz like, THIS MAN GOT NO CONTENT 😭
anyways, enough ramblings, gotta finish that ava 5 wip LMAO.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
ALSO ALMOST FORGOT, TRANSLATION ON THE COMIC!!
Iris: Why did you save me? Mellohi: Because I know that once you are useless to them, they will destroy you. Mellohi: And I think that you deserve a second chance to change. Iris: ...

AO3 Tag Game!
Thank you for the tag @misty-wisp :D This looks so fun!
How many works do you have on AO3?
12! And it's steadily increasing as I get more (and randomly) ideas to write fics bout >:3c
What's your total AO3 word count?
126,004! Whoooaaa... That's a lot :o Ngl, I barely visit the statistics of my ao3 account so I didn't expect that one.
How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they?
Okay, so... it's 5? I think. On my main ao3 account it's 2 though! OMORI and Mahoyaku! Buuuut! I've written for Persona 5 (with Magic Kaito) but I'm... too shy to put it in my ao3 account so it's just in my tumblr. The other 2 is somewhere else... (I've written a oneshot for Genshin Impact in an old ao3 account that I don't wanna open up again cuz it's so embarrassing for me... I don't even wanna read that oneshot, I'd die of embarrassment. And the other one is Honkai Impact 3rd, I forgot where I put that one but I do know I wrote a oneshot with Bronya and Seele for it).
Top five fics by kudos:
It's all from OMORI!
Once again, from the beginning - I did not really expect this one to have as much kudos as it has now, like, tbf yea it's my most well planned one but it's still so crazy to see the kudos on it-- wai when did it pass that number-- I never really check the kudos but wtf happened here.
The Tune of the New Morning - How did this one get that many kudos too??? This is my very first OMORI fic and ngl, whenever I look at it I get the very strong urge to rewrite everything from the beginning cuz of how badly planned it is. If OAFB is well planned, this one is terribly planned. I literally make things up as I go.
Magician in the Mirror - Is in the top 3!!! Lookit!!! :D The work I'm proudest in cuz this is my 2nd fic and also the one I just went ham on! I wanted it out during anni and it was all a last minute thing but I'm so glad it turned out well despite that!
The Pawn and the Bishops - I didn't expect to see this one here but alas... it is... I quite like this one though! It's the first one I've written with a fairly heavy and gloomy atmosphere and I think I did pretty good on it!
And thus, the snake ate no more - I see you're here too... This one is actually like a mix of my planning between OAFB and TNM in which that it's in the middle of well planned and terribly planned. Think of it as the middle child of my longfics. With OAFB being the spoiled youngest and TNM the unplanned first child.
Do you respond to comments?
YES! As much as I can! I like receiving comments and I like responding to them as best as I can but I also get pretty nervous bout it... so I end up barely responding anyway oh boooooo.
What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written?
I??? Don't think? I have written any with an angsty ending yet? I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort so most of the fics I've written so far always had a happy ending so! Maybe in the future 👀 Maybe.
Do you write crossovers?
Is the Kaito Kuroba from Magic Kaito in Persona 5 now as Akiren and Co.'s friend stuff I've written considered crossover? If so then yes! It's actually pretty fun to write one! :D
Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?
I don't think so? Pretty happy that I haven't yet, thank goodness!
Do you write smut?
Nope! I don't know if I would though, truth be told I don't have much knowledge with writing smut, I barely read any stories (novel wise) with it as a guideline cuz I... I can't visualize it well enough, my brain is not equipped for it (I try to read smut and spend the next few minutes figuring out the characters' positions. Yall smut writers out there impressive with it cuz honestly how).
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope and thank god for that!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I HAVE!!! AM SO HAPPY BOUT IT!!! :D Someone translated Magician in the Mirror to Chinese and it's so cool!!! I think there's only a Chapter 1 of it but it's so cool and nice and sweet and awwwwww.
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Alright, sit down. This is very important. I need you to listen closely, attentively, and carefully... I Love CaiOwe/OweCai. I LOVE CAIN/OWEN!!! OWEN/CAIN!!! CAIN&OWEN I LOOOOOVVVEEE ANYTHING WITH CAIN AND OWEN!!! It's my all-time favourite ship, nothing can compare to Cain and Owen from the hit japanese game, Mahoutsukai no Yakusoku aka Mahoyaku aka mhyk aka Promise of Wizard. They're my most favourite ship I'd go to war for em, I love em so so much, I adore em sooooooo much, I see any fanart of em and my day gets better immediately. They're my lifeblood, my ambrosia, my everything. I love caiowe/owecai with all my heart...
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
Looks at oafb, tnm, and attsanm... I'd like to believe that regardless of how much time had passed, I would be able to finish any of those three though. Hyperfixation gone or not, I wanna finish em!
What are your writing strengths?
I think it'd be monologue? Inner monologue? What do you call that thing where it's just the narrator focusing on the characters' thoughts and feelings and their overall view on the situation??? I think I'm pretty good at that, maybe. And somehow I'm good at accidentally setting things up, I don't know how but I just accidentally do things that connects stuff.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogues... I'm so bad with dialogues most of the time I spend in writing is getting the dialogues right. I'm also really bad at descriptors, I'm bad at describing things so I just try to either describe something as best as I can with the help of searching through the internet or get around that part by just being poetic.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?
I think it's pretty neat! :o I feel like I've seen fics like that before but can't really remember though I did think it added detail to the story of it!
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Uhhh, I think it waaaaass Honkai Impact 3rd? I think it was the Bronya and Seele fic I've written somewhere that or it was the Genshin Impact fic instead. It was either of those two.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far?
Magician in the Mirror!!! It's my favourite I've written so far and the one I'm proudest of! And a lil biased, but the latest favourite one that I've just recently written is Look back, Orpheus which is a fic for caiowe from mhyk! Once again, from the beginning is the 2nd favourite though :3
Thank you again for the tag! Dunno who to tag though but for anyone that sees this, feel free to do it! :D

Things I’ve Done as Obey Me Bros
I’m kinda boring but I kept seeing videos like this on tiktok and I’ve been thinking about it lately. Anyway, cw like everything, too lazy to make sure I get everything specifically. Probably nsfw for Asmo and probably some substances for Belphie’s. This is aged from when I was like 10-present day I’m not that stupid anymore. Some of it’s funny and some is pretty personal.

Told some kids I was babysitting “I don’t care just don’t die” before going on my phone the whole time
Always saved my homework for late at night because it was quieter

Set alarms in the middle of the night for anime releases and long timed harvesting in games
Watched a new anime episode/read(looked at) the manga the second it came out even if it wasn’t translated yet (piece it together myself based off pictures and vibes lmao)
Knew what Rule 34 was when I was 11
Woke up at 4:00 AM everyday before school for 3 years so I could calm my anxiety down and hype myself up
Satan

Masturbated at a Christian camp with others around
Already had a crush by my 2nd day of working at my job
Got intimate with my ex thinking it’d make him take me back
Cried because I couldn’t find my eyelash glue and when I found it the inner corners wouldn’t stick (I was late)
Spent 2 hours evening out my eyeliner, decided I didn’t like it, did a casual look, took a single picture, then wiped it all off and called it a day
Beelzebub
Found a spider in my room but didn’t wanna kill it. It was too high by the time I had a cup and some paper so I just let it roam
Got legitimately upset because I lost a toad and didn’t get a chance to hold it
Spent over $40 on food and ate over 1/2 of it in one sitting (was gone by the end of the day)
Put some cheese in a bag and threw it on my friend’s driveway because we were talking about how great cheese is
Took too much of an edible because the chocolate tasted so good
Belphegor
Slept 14 hours after the first week of school in jr high
Stabbed an old pillow repeatedly because I was having a meltdown
Smoked weed for anxiety and insomnia, fucked my academic career but at least I was able to show up
Dug my nails into an annoying girl’s skin because she wasn’t listening to the teacher and held up the whole class (didn’t get in trouble!)
Woke up to my parents fighting and just went back to sleep

Jester’s Hat Pattern
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I meant to post this on New Year’s Day. Oops. Hello, all 5 followers that aren’t bots! I typed that sentence and realized I haven’t been checking for bots in my sideblog. To be fair, I haven’t been doing a great job of posting to my crochetblr at all since I started it. Let this be the beginning of a year of more-or-less monthly patterns! More updates on the quilt! More one-off posts! This is the year of crochet!
Some of you may have noticed that I changed this blog's title last year. I felt that "NotUrGrannySquares" didn't fit me. I didn't really like it at the beginning, but it's the all I could think of (and it wasn't too creative, since I only spelt it "Ur" because "NotYourGrannySquares" was taken--not to mention, there are plenty of patterns out there with similar names). As I began to collect a few pieces from my mom and grandma for my quilt, I felt more at odds with the blog name: these are my granny's squares! I posted this one a while ago, but the other two from her are waffle stitch samples. One is incomplete, using a merino wool yarn, and the other she fished out of the kitchen when I asked if I could incorporate the wool one into the quilt, and it’s clearly a polyester because it’s slightly melted in the center where it had been holding hot things. I’m obsessed with the texture that’s resulted.
I landed on “crochety” because I’ve described myself as a crotchety old man, the word “crotchety” shares origins with the word “crochet,” and I liked how Dictionary.com defined it.
crotchety adjective 1. given to odd notions, whims, grouchiness, etc.
I am given to odd notions and whims. That’s the whole thesis of my quilt, isn’t it? That’s why I haven’t been posting patterns. When I’m crocheting, I’m crocheting. I can’t stop every row and write down what I did. Worse, I can’t write it down and then rewrite it in a text document. I tried to teach myself coding last year because I was told it’s “just logic,” and being logically minded, I should be good at it. The thing is, it’s also typing, and I fucking hate typing. (You’re looking up at the past 4 paragraphs skeptically. This is different. Just trust me that it’s different. You’ll see what I mean when you look at the pattern and how poorly I’ve cleaned it up because something about typing shit like, “Ch 3, turn, sk 1st st, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next sc, sc 15, ch 2, sc in next sc, sc 15, ch 3, turn, sk 1st ch, sc in sc in sc in sc in sc in next st and to end,” just itches my brain so uncomfortably. Crocheting is so intuitive for me, and translating it from the physical realm to the written kills me. It’s like when I would finish my geometry proof before everyone else, and the teacher would suggest I help the kid next to me, but I couldn’t put it into words. I don’t know, dude, you just put the things where they go. Just put the hook through the correct stitch. Just make it the shape of one third of a jester’s hat. That’s how you make a pattern. Just do the thing that obviously you should do. This is why I like diagram crochet patterns more, which I would like to get into on here in the future. However, this pattern reflects the madness that is my brain trying to type up patterns. When I started this blog, I thought I would do a bunch of patterns like that, maybe with a horror narrative evolving around the monotony and the separation between typography and craft, and then I realized how much tongue in cheek patterning that would require. Hmm. Maybe someday, though.)
So anyway, this is NOT your granny’s pattern because I bet she has better discipline than I do. She would have cleaned this pattern up to the necessary bits. I’m too damn crotchety for that.
All 3 panels will follow this pattern. I used (most of) 3 skeins of Buttercream Luxe Craft 100% Wool yarn. It is yarn weight 5, recommending 6.0mm crochet hooks, and for once I did what I was told.
It appears that Joann has rebranded it to Knit & Crochet, but it also seems I have moved to an area with mediocre Joanns which carry neither. Which is whatever; I have gift cards to better yarn shops.
You can follow the same scheme of adding stitches with different starting row counts. This ended up being a little more than 25 inches in circumference, which made it just a bit too big for me. I rolled up the brim on the underside when I wore it, which worked fine for me and my 21 inch head since it’s a nice thick yarn.
Key I'm using US terms. ch = Chain sc = Single crochet sk = Skip sc2tog = single crochet 2 together That's all you need. It's easy peasy, you got this, gorgeous.
Ch 31. 1. skip 1st ch. sc 30. ch 1, turn. 2-10. sc 30, ch 1, turn. 11. sc 30, ch 2, turn. 12. sk first ch, sc in second from hook. sc across. Ch 2 again! and turn. 13. sk first ch, sc in second, sc 16, ch 2, sc in next stitch and to end. (32 total, 16 on each side. We're gonna stop keeping count, though. I didn't, and it turned out just fine. You'll be fine, as long as all your panels are Shaped.) Ch 2, and turn. 14. Sk first ch, sc in second, sc 17. In 2 ch space {sc, ch 2, sc}. Sc to end. Ch 2, turn. 15-16. You know what you're doing. Sc to that chain space, and sc, ch 2, sc, and keep going. Ch 2, turn. 17. Now it switches up, but not really. Sk first ch, sc in second. Sc to 2ch space {sc, ch 2, sc}, sc to end. NOW. Chain 3. Turn. 18. Sc in second and third ch from hook. sc to chain space {sc, ch 2, sc}, sc to end. Ch. 3. 19. NOW it switches up. Sc in second and third ch, sc across. You hear me? Single crochet across! Skip that chain space entirely this time 'round! 20-22. In 20, you add the ch space in... um. shoot. This is why people keep track of stitches. Add the ch space above where it was in 18. IDK, you got this. ch 3, turn. 23. Hey, just skip that ch space again, okay. Don't argue (you can argue, change the pattern, idgaf). Ch 3, turn. 24. sc in second and third ch from hook, sc 31, ch 2 without skipping, sc 32. Ch 3, turn. 25-27. Same as 20-22. 28. Do that thing where you omit the ch space. Or don't. I'm not your mother. 29-30. Same as 20-22 and 25-27. 31. This is ittttttttt! Single crochet until that 2 chain space where I need you to use that one stitch in the key you forgot about? The sc2tog? Keep sc'ing to the end and fasten the fuck off, you did it.
Now you just have to do that two more times and probably in different colors. Maybe if you're fancy you could do stripes. Row 31 should have 92 stitches, but, like I said in Row 13, as long as it's Shaped, you're honestly good. As longs as the Shapes are Basically The Same, you are grooving.
Sew them up. I slip stitched them together because I'm more comfortable with a hook than a needle (and I think it looks nice). Don’t forget to affix something that jingle jangles. 🃏

Meet Me On the Other Side (118)
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Every single one, no matter how long or how short! Reblogs on tumblr and replies/comments under the posts are literally my life source to keep me going through the day. I try to make sure I don't miss a single response if I can help it.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
It isn't finished yet, but I have the finale outlined for Famous Last Words as I only have two more parts to go. (That I intend to finish some day I promise!) Same Old Mistakes will have the angstiest ending out of all of my fics.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I do not. I totally could one day, though. Just has to have the right mood.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
No! Luckily I am fortunate enough to say that I have been given only constructive criticism to my fics, which is not equivalent to hate.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! I actually really get nervous about writing smut. Like it'll take me eons to write smut chapters versus normal chapters because they're the pieces of writing I'm most self conscious about. (Even if... nearly all of my works constitute as smut-based fics.) I primarily write f/m smut just because... well, it just happens that way? And I write smut for me, so I don't primarily write things that I don't find hot. Because fic-writing it's about self-indulging, baybeeee.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No! Not that I am aware of, anyway. Hopefully not, because stealing fics is lame.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I'm aware of, no.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I'm actually more well-versed in roleplay writing than I am with fanfics, so I want to say... yes? Because I've written collaborative stories with friends that I've just never published to the public, but it's a long-winded way of say yes and also no.
13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
I don't know if I have one? I write mainly reader insert because I would be writing original character x canon fic, but they don't typically sell well, so I adopted 2nd person writing to get with the times.
In terms of readership, I loved Buffy/Spike from BtVS as a kid, Garrus x Sheppard from Mass Effect 3, Zutara from ATLA, Jack & Elizabeth from POTC, Obidala, Dramione, Reylo... I'm typically a big proponent of enemies to lovers, if that hasn't been obvious yet, lol.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I have a Succession fanfiction that is extremely dark and 'dead dove don't eat' territory that I've had sitting in my google docs for over a year now. I think it's some of my best writing, but I know that it's extremely taboo and very much not safe for work, so I struggle with posting it despite how I go back to read it all the time lol. I write a really good Kendall Roy, guys!
15. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. I went to school and have a degree in pre-production motion picture and television writing, so screenwriting is my niche little hobby that I wanted to turn into a career and never did. That being said, I think that I can really pick up on dialect of characters and actors very well in order to translate them into original pieces / fanfiction, so I think most of my strengths lie within my verbal writing.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Description. I absolutely loathe writing long paragraphs and descriptors and tend to gloss over when others write very long paragraph writing. My attention span just cannot handle non-quippy and whippy writing, and that goes for myself as well. I'd rather just write the dialogue and the drama going on between interpersonal relationships, and tend to struggle with setting up locations and atmospheres in a broader, descriptive sense vs. abstract.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I don't do it because I would have to use Google Translator and that's a total gamble, but I admire those who can and do fluently. I can read Spanish, but I cannot write it. The closest we get is me writing Din speaking in Mando'a and quite honestly I do not know if those translations are even real / up to Wookiepedia code lol.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Y'all are going to lose. your. shit over this.
Jimmy Neutron. I was nine years old. A 12-part story I still say is my best work 😂
19. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
Point A to Point B will likely be my favorite. I have put so much of my heart and soul in that storytelling and world crafting that I'd be remiss to suggest anything else.

3. When did you first come into contact with Tolkien's work? Who or what introduced you?
Funny story! One day, it must have been shortly after the third LotR film came out, my recorder teacher showed me this newly published booklet of LotR soundtrack arranged for flute / alto recorder, with orchestral accompaniment on CD. She said she thought I would like it, so we played it. I loved it. Went home, and discovered my parents had the books at home, because my grandfather had been the teacher of the translator (or teaching at the same school? but I think the story I heard was that she'd been in his class), and they'd gotten it in a case of wanting to see what it was his former pupil did. Afaik I'm the only one in my family to have read it. Anyway, I found it, read it, and fell in love with it.
5. Ruthlessly rank the main projects of the Tolkien universe (the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Rings of Power, the Silmarillion). You can break Lord of the Rings into three books for additional chaos, if you like.
I haven't watched Rings of Power at all, so that's out. For the rest:
The Lord of the Rings. Ranking the books is almost impossible because I just love all of them so much, and always different parts.
The Hobbit - I like it a lot and I especially love the dwarves as a race/culture. It's only 2nd because the emotional impact, for me, doesn't hit as hard as LotR does.
The Silmarillion - I read it once, it was interesting, but I have forgotten SO MUCH of it. I do love the beginning a lot, about how the world was made. It means a lot to me, that the world is made of music, and that we can hear echoes of that in the sea.
10. Favorite performance by any actor in the Tolkien film projects? Bonus: What's your favorite scene with them?
The books are really much more present in my mind than the films so that's a hard one. Sean Astin perhaps, and Elijah Wood? Their scenes in the 2nd and 3rd film are a lot. Or what's his name, the actor who played Thorin in the Hobbit.
14. You are dropped into the middle of the map in the Third Age (that's roughly between Mirkwood and Lothlorien) during the events of Lord of the Rings. Where you are headed first?
... Do I retain my knowledge about the events or not? That would change things. Also, my answer would change depending on when exactly I was dropped there, how much time I'd have to get somewhere else. With the newsletter we see how much time passes in the beginning, and how quickly everything happens now in spring, and that influences how much time there is to get somewhere. If the question was which part of Middle Earth I'd love to see, that's Erebor, Dale, and Aglarond. On second thought, all the action happens in the south, so I'd be more or less safe when I go to the north-east? Because let's be honest, I don't think I'd be such an asset in the war. Staying out of the way sounds reasonable enough. So. Dale it is. Close enough that I have a chance to get there, and I'd want to see it anyway.
Thank you for asking! :)

Classical studies tingies
Before I say anything - i'm just a student - just keep that in mind and correct me if I was wrong!! Also go drink some water 😑
So
1- I was studying the tenses in ancient Greek language and my professor mentioned in the text book a "strong Aorist" and I was like "?? That's my 3rd year why didn't I hear of it before" so anyways after some research I realized that STRONG AORIST IS ACTUALLY 2ND AORIST!!!
(2nd Aorist is translated the same as Aorist but it just looks different, it's stem doesn't look like the main verb when conjugating)
2- today in the lecture the professor decided to give us 3 "simple" sentences to translate from English to ancient Greek and I realized -besides that I need to work on my vocabulary, Bec that's so obvs- I also need to revise grammar of last years Bec I have no idea what a de ponant verb was, or how a contracted verb is made or what did the personal pronouns look like ALSO THE PARTICIPLE!!! WHAT IS THAT????
So ya putting on my list "REVISE ALL THE ANCIENT GREEK GRAMMAR"
I feel a bit doomed but excited... Does that make sense?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
3- is it me or is ancient Greek actually more interesting than Greek... Tho Greek is "easier" 😐...
4- I just found out it's called "classical studies" and not "department of ancient European civilizations" why didn't anyone tell me 😑 I knew from tik tok SHAME ON U UNI 😭
5- confession TIME : I HAVEN'T READ THE ILLIAD AND THE ODYSSEY AS A WHILE YET 😭😭😭😭
Idk if y'all can tell... I'm a tiny bit stressed 🙂
I really REALLY LOVE MY MAJOR THO
I love everything about it, the challenge the aesthetic, the complicated stuff u search for for hours to get 1 simple fact. I just love it.. Education wise I can't be happier..
Maybe if I was a psychology major that would have been fun too... But ya, I love that too

Dread X Collection 5 Review!!
Another Dread X Collection after a while! As always, it is me, and a friend playing through the games together. He picks a game and plays it, I spectate. Then I pick a game and play it, he spectates. I know that it means we never had the opportunity to spook ourselves all alone, but the games are a treat and are fun to experience with someone else. Read my review of each game, and the outpost 3000 hubworld! Anyways... This Dread X Collection is weirdly the weakest collection. Hear me out...
Me and my buddy ol pal were reminiscing of the previous collections.
1, 2, 3, hunt, coming up to this one and we concluded that DreadXCollection 5 is the weakest but for disappointing reasons. Mainly, the games. The general theme of this review is how we mostly disliked the games, or found them unremarkable. But there are glimmers of some really good games, and choices in general. Let us Start with...
Game X: The hub world
The hubworld of this game is a Chucky Cheese esque little playground restaurant with animatronics and all that jazz. Called "Outpost 3000" that has the theme of 'aliens' and typical extra terrestrial aesthetics.
This might be the best mechanical Hub world of the collections simply because it had some engaging gameplay and semi-forced us to play a game before continuing on with the hub world.
(Previously, on The Hunt, we did the entirety of the hubworld and then played the games. Outpost 3000 forces you the pacing that you deserve)
However, I still think the 2nd collections House is the best. The third collection wins in aesthetics, its progressive darkness was awesome. The Hunt was thematically fitting.
Speaking of themes... Outpost 3000 to me continues the illusive story of the dread x collections but fittingly in a thematic way, where the hubworld itself eludes to the otherworldly being corrupting the world to be an extraterrestrial itself. But that does not say much, you can see how much effort we put in figuring out the Dread X story ;)
One more thing, The theme of the games are also so much harder to pinpoint. Many of the games had similar warnings, like "Play with headphones, because audio is important here". So that might have been the mechanical prompt, but the story prompt could have been "Becoming a part of a horror entity" or "Aiding the horror entity". The story that is revealed within the comics is a good similarity to the many stories of the games. There are many similarities, although not all follow my theory exactly. Another one could have been collectibles, or easter eggs. But we never bothered to complete them in any game.
Still, I think im 90% close.
Game 1: Gallerie by Shakles
I was the player
Gallerie gets the overall rating of Pretty Good Gallerie was a pretty surrealistic game. Its funny, spooky, confusing. Its so many things like the raving colours it bombards you with. I encountered a few bugs but we worked around them. It had many mechanics, and then actually stringed them together in a good way. It is hard to summarize this one, but all I will say is that it was actually pretty good, and, somehow, the creator knows everything about it while I struggle to understand most of it.
The translating parts is the wackiest hectic interpretations ive been forced to do.
Game 2: Karao by Stroboskop (Sylvio)
Friend was the player
Karao gets the overall rating of Alright
Karao was this, plunge down the rabbit hole esque depressing insanity ride. It felt a lot like silent hill in some of the aesthetics. The game itself is mostly linear, you trying to find your way, and shoot some women with guns. I dont know what to say much about Karao. This is the first where me not being the player hindered me truly feeling and understanding it. It kinda got forgotten as we went down the list of games.
sorry.
Game 3: Vestige by Philisophic Games
I was the player
Vestige gets the overall rating of Ok
So... this game had many opportunities to be so much more than it did. In the end, it was... annoying, easy and annoying.
The start of the game, figuring out where the plants are, the rooms etc made me tense up simply because you only control with your mouse, point and clicking the environment to go to. This clunky control scheme made me think I will struggle, but the real gameplay is just...
Playing a game within a game, with a cheap random jumpscare that kills but is easy to avoid from time to time, while the game within the game also being annoying.
But its not... terrible. Its soo in the middle for me. It caught my attention then kinda... did whatever it could do... oh well.
Game 4: Spirit Guardian by Nikk F.
Friend was the player
Spirit Guardian gets the overall rating of Pretty Bad
Not outright bad, but... pretty bad. Spirit guardian feels so buggy and makes no sense. It has made the effort of some style, but it does not mount up to much. The puzzles, the mechanics, the story. So mediocre. It is so dark, yet there is literally limited amount of batteries for your flashlight. Its not that scary and kinda made us angry.
Game 5: Beyond The Curtain by Matt Reeves
I was the player
Beyond the Curtain gets the overall rating of Great!
Beyond the Curtain is very walky-simulatory, but then things actually get you to consider giving ATTENTION to it... ahem.
The look and feel, the atmosphere is what this one was mostly about. Yet it also had some actual gameplay considerations. This games sound design is the winner of sound in this collection. It was all appropriate and visceral and tense. Great ending too!
Game 6: Ludomalica by iwilliams
Friend was the player
Ludomalica gets the overall rating of Great!
Ludomalica, puts everything into place pretty well, you play this board game, walk around the house and entice the rules. Then it tries to scare you as it shuts off the lights or opens the door.
We really did not feel much for it until... well... I cant spoil it.
Lets just say that, it wasnt a real scare, it was a scary realisation. And it was so clever, it caught us off-gaurd. Maybe we should have seen it coming, but whatever. It was a really good horror trick.
The rest of the game kinda sucks, kinda. You kinda go and do the same things, but with increased difficulty.
Still, this was pretty simple yet iconic.
Game 7: Rotten Stigma by VisceralError
I was the player
Rotten Stigma gets the overall rating of Meh...
pppfffff.... this was... fine, but, didnt do much... It was run of the mill silent hill homage. shoot the monsters, spooky vibes (but not spooky enough for me), and some puzzles or whatever. I did not care much for this. Forgettable. Sorry.
Game 8: Resver by colorfiction
Friend was the player
Resver gets the overall rating of Pretty Cool
Resver is a linear walky simulatory game. Where it shines tho is in its experience. It has this very cool grungy style, making a lot of itself have a difficult time to be interpreted or defined. Which adds to the horrors when they happen. Nothing scary imo, just a nasty soft panic. Which is a unique feeling to tap into. It is pretty short, but good!
Game 9: The Book of Blood by Darkstone Digital
I was the player
The Book of Blood gets the overall rating of Good!
This game is a mish mash of many mechanics. Its closest comparison would be five nights at freddies but actually good. But also not good since there are a few mechanics that suck ass, or arent used.
Regardless, you think you are stuck in one place but then you have to go out into the darkness. I must say, the presentation in this game was really good.
Being caught never really threatened me as the QTE was easy, also maybe bugged out and didnt let me press on some of them, loosing me a life. And the "Peek out window" mechanic also never got prompted for usage, even if I peeked out to see if I would catch the intruder.
This was good. It wins in presentation, theres a lot of cool shit put togheter.
Game 10: Hunsvotti by Roope Tamminen
Friend was the Player
Hunsvotti gets the overall rating of Best game in Collection!
This is funny, confusing... The game invokes the feeling of being bullied. Its such a shitty feeling but the game kinda does it very well. Im surprised to the "horror" of this game being the feeling of getting bullied. What the fuck, lol.
Regardless, it is great. It has some oddly surprising mechanics (Namely, when you are at 1 hit away from dying) It has a satisfying conclusion, and we even set out to loose on purpose to see what would happen. We werent disappointed.
Game 11: We Never Left by FYRE games
I was the player
We Never Left gets the overall rating of Could have been the best.
We never left is this investigative game where you look through the life of a supposed serial killer by reading papers, listening to tapes and... playing his game.
A lot of awesome buildup and reveals. I must say, this game was great, I loved it. Especially when sound got put into play.
Its biggest, and I would say absolutely horrid drawback, which might have been our fault, is the FPS when all lights are on. It has such a horrid FPS, I was looking at the floor or ceiling when moving around.
The optimization of the game was terrible. The worst
But I still feel like I got what the game wanted to give me, and it was a nice little video they made at the end as well!
Game 12: INTERIM by Phantom Sloth Games
Friend was the player
INTERIM gets the overall rating of Bad
Short, controls mostly suck, story didnt do anything... just bad. It felt so buggy, terrible jumping, yet was a platformer at one point... Gosh, just... not good. Im sorry.
Like, we are forced to run up vertically away from a monster, by jumping and walking over planks you have to set down, and then in a cutscene fall into the monster anyway...
gah, thats just... not good.
The only thing that it got going for it, is some of its style, thats it. It wasnt funny, maybe it tried to be tongue and cheek, but we didnt feel it.
Conclusion
So as you can see, not all games were horrible, but not all games were awesome or amazing. This collection had the most middle of the road set of games, and was not memorable.
Sure we had some moments, but then it dies out.
It wasnt the POGGERS from The Hunt or the Stapling of Squirrels The 3 Skelle bros or Seeing a ghost at the edges of the screen The Crazy Moon austronaut The "What the fuck" of Rotgut or the uh oh of Summer Night Nothing really stood out from this collection like before.

ai somnium files playthrough
eyes, ai, ai in eyes, the ferris wheel is an eye observing the murder scene, hmm idk maybe eyes are a recurring motif.
so something happened 6 years ago. date lost his eye and memories. 5 years ago befriended renju. 4 years ago more or less took over parenting renju's daughter(deadbeat?). and now the mom is dead and daughter found at the scene.
AI, ai, eye, I. aiba, AI ball, eyeball, aibou. Wow the devs are really going at it
Everyone in this game is deranged. I love it.
Oh no mom! She better not be delusional.
Is date on antipsychotics?
He's 24?? I wasn't sure if i'd misread that since everyone calls him a kid. But yeah date would do that. Ok really don't call it a "relationship" mizuki's like 12.
Is she blackmailing date? That's hilarious. Yeah she is. Lol get bullied by a teenager date
She's an egirl minecraft streamer! D: cant tell if thats better or worse than instagram infuencer, probably better honestly
Aiba need to hack line ah nile to find who messages mizuki. 1 isnt that illegal. 2 with a warrant the company would give that info. 3 it could be a burner account. Ip address isnt a sure way either if they're smart
It's been less than 24 hours give the poor girl a break before you potentially permanently damage her mind. So no guardian permission you basically kidnapped a kid and she can't communicate. Ok this feels really scummy. I mean she's non verbal sure but shes literate right she could right down answers
Keitai ah another ai. Bleh i hate timed mechanics and pc controls are bad (it was on sale on steam). Uhhh i did not know what i was doing. I raised the balloons and unintentionally used her abusive mom's voice to calm her. Was there a better outcome? Shoutouts to the dude keeping gay porn at work. Ok i definitely messed up but im curious where this branch goes. How was i suppose to know "comforting voice" was going to be her moms i thought it'd be date or something.
Hmm while mizuki was at bloom park someone might have contacted her. But they only discontinued the 2nd rental phone number after date called? That's pretty sloppy for someone otherwise trying to cover their tracks.
Wow iris you're missing peak hours 5-10. Also all this date stuff is uncomfortable she's 18. Mom's dead calling it
Hmm i thought the phone had been planted to contact mizuki. But if its shoko's phone...
Is mizuki a year behind? If hitomi is an elementary school teacher and mizuki is in her homeroom she's in 6th grade at most or maybe im forgetting school ages
Date's poor back. Buy a second bed
Hah did i miss something. Mizuki got a nile message from renju on saturday? So that was before or after the psynch. Is this a translation error? The message should have been sent friday but today is sunday
So that whole psynch dive was unnecessary and dangerous since mizuki gives us all the same info like 10 hours later like shoko's phone
Date's memory incident was 7 years ago. Hitomi was shot 6 years ago. Why did date dream of her shot
A-set aseto aseto-n chan. I am now hearing acetone whenever ota speaks
The disrespect! Date just calling yakuza guy by his given name.
Uh... why do i feel like that self destruct function is going to become a plot point like date will say 40125(?) to prove he isnt lying or something
also i switched from mouse and keyboard to controller because yeah this game was designed for controller. i should have gotten it for switch... but it was on sale on stream for 7 bucks! anyways using switch joycons (ha!) and idk what it is but there lag or a delay for inputs on the right joystick.
Ok i was not expecting the iris murder, good foreshadowing but i thought she would continue bothering date for the rest of the game. I've been playing too much ace attorney that im now expecting the weird teen girl sidekick. Did sejima actually do it? Why not hire someone to do the actual killing. Date is convinced of his guilt but I'm not. Also i failed that psync...
The game already established date is on some sort of drug given how aiba comments his dosage needs to be increased every time he gets too weird but now the game drops that date doesnt even know he's on the drug which wow flag just went up.
Ooh and then they cant find the body. Pewter said the psyncher brings in a bit of their memory into the pynchie's(?) somnium. How convenient that aiba ran out of batteries. It's totally possible there was no corpse and date hallucinated it and then his own beliefs and memories influenced the somnium given the presentation of events and also the hints that there's something up with date psychologically. Game's making me doubt his sanity. Good writing. I did find it ood he didnt stay with the body, why did he need to rush to hq, what was at hq? The most he needed to go was the car to recharge aiba. Also another time not actually having a cell phone bites him.
And iris isn't dead. Yup game is making me doubt date. Maybe those actually are anti psychotics
Huh is it me or was there another box in the warehouse last night. Also yeah 1.5 hour internal police response seems slow. I cant tell what is a red herring and what isnt.
i was already doubting hitomi's taste in men given the whole teen mom thing. But she foud a mob dude bleeding out who grabbed and kissed her and decided to date him. Says she loves iris more than her own life but introduced this shady af dude to her home life and 12 year old daughter? uhh. Hmm so this partly explains the opening dream. Let's see if im getting this right old boyfriend did crimes and had a dude trying to kill him, hitomi took the shot and almost died and lost control function in her right arm. Police arrested gundude and boyfriend. Now why does date remember the scene? And if boyfriend didn't actually die why was he shown... Actually i don't remember if he was dead in the dream. But i do remember the gouged out eye. Something also happened to date 6 years ago since thats when his memories begin and he's missing his left? Eye. In so's somnium it's speculated by boss and pewter that the faceless person was so's image of himself, then in date's dream was that his image of himself? I guess this is the begining if the hitomi boyfriend hypothesis although that would necessitate hitomi and iris pretending they didnt know date. Date's scared of ghosts. There also the earlier dialogue about how memories are left behind by the psyncher during somnium mostly only the ego/personality/programming is retained not the memories. Ok redid the opening dream, skeleton with a bloody left eye socket. Took a closer look at iris's drawing, criminal boyfriend looks like the guy seen in the dream dark hair red shirt black jacket and pants. Which means date is more likely the shooter.
