I’m making a webcomic adaptation of The Hobbit! It’s an epic cool passion project that incorporates as much of Tolkien’s prose as possible while also being my own take on the story, it features a variety of different art styles to represent the worlds of different characters in Middle Earth, it’s over 100 pages long already, the art/writing keeps gradually improving over time, and you should follow it! Like, comment, and subscribe! *dabs*
Okay I admit I’m awful at ‘marketing.’ But my point stands! Follow for queer Tookish antics over the Edge of the Wild.
You can keep up by following me here at @retellingthehobbit on Tumblr. This blog posts a new 10ish-page-long chapter once a month (on the 13th), as well as assorted WIP art :3. The first chapter on tumblr is here. (I started out posting on my main @secretmellowblog, so the earlier chapters were posted there instead.)
However, I personally recommend keeping up with the comic by bookmarking it on ao3 here or subscribing on Webtoon here.
This keeps all the chapters neatly organized in one place, and also sends you an email notification whenever it updates, which is helpful because I don't update weekly :). I currently update monthly, on the thirteenth day of every month.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy!

"Why couldn't he save himself?"
Yeah, Fanny... why couldn't he?
Rabbit Reflections is quite possibly my favorite Fanny-related Inky Mystery chapter ever! We see her finally start to shatter her incomplete view of who Cuphead Dish is by coming to the singular conclusion one could reach in her shoes: he sees something of himself in her, and feels responsible for that.
While I like this illusstration and enjoy the little details of its full picture - Fanny's pupils looking up to Cup, the cut on her ear, his heart resting at her eye level and yet still being ignored - it didn't really turn out how I thought it would y'all, so bc you can't see their individual shapes all that well, there's a couple versions below for each!
Thank you for coming to my art showcase! I'll see you in the scheduled shitposting I'll inevitably do before I start drawing again 💗

nicholas isn't used to being carried, so anytime danny does it (which is quite often) he's completely confounded.
you think he would've figured it out by now, but nope! there's something deeply autistic about this man, i've decided.
linework under the cut ✂️✂️✂️
i had an idea for another drawing of the two of them though it won't be quite so unserious. this has been great practice for getting myself to draw loose and ignore a lot of the perfectionism that takes hold of my balls when i draw, and now i'm ready to make some ART again babeyyyyy
usually i draw once every six months and write maybe a fourth of a fic once a year, so it's actually crazy to me that Hot Fuzz (2007) and the other pegg-frost-wright collaborations have rooted themselves in my brain so deeply and intensely that i'm??? being??? consistent??? with both????? and you know, i'm 1000% a lot of this motivation comes from the so dearly kind words y'all've been giving me on fic and art alike (i don't want to link my ao3 account but those who know, ily) because OH MY GOD you guys say the SWEETEST AND MOST GLORIOUS THINGS, i truly think we as people were put on this earth to read the tags people put on our art posts on tumblr dot com because what else can that well convince someone that what they do is worth it?

Mutiny of the Hardest Order - Chapter 15: About Being Disastrously, Catastrophically, Cataclysmically in Love
Upon having his grand epiphany about being in love with Peter-freaking-Hale, Stiles devolved into a walking disaster. There was really no other way to describe it. He could see he was being a friggin’ human catastrophe—fumbling over his words (and feet), turning tense and awkward and nervous around Peter, trying to find little ways (that ended up not being so little) to please and impress him—but it was like watching a train wreck in real time; he just couldn't stop himself!
The other day, he had gone over to Peter's house with three pies. Because he'd randomly decided pie sounded like a nice surprise but hadn’t known what flavor Peter would like. Pies he'd baked himself. And were all a little burnt around the edges, damn it.

Ok, about 230 words of LtA translated tonight. There was a paragraph with a giant complicated sentence that slowed me down a bit. Better than no progress at all though!
Bernard was introduced in what I translated tonight. I saw on the wiki that it seems he's generally referred to as Ky's butler, but I decided to render the word 「執事」 as "steward" instead because he does more than just cleans Ky's house and bring him tea biscuits lol
Bernard manages crime syndicate reports, compiles summaries of them, and works as an analyst for Ky at the former Holy Order HQ in Paris, too. That's way above a standard "butler," imo. It seems like the word 「家令」 more generally means what we think of a butler as in English anyway.
LtA hasn't referred to Bernard with「家令」 at all, but if Norimitsu uses that or「バトラー」to refer to his job later I'll change it.

Chapter 2 is here 👀
let's go to hell (together) (15272 words) by peachyM00
Chapters: 2/?
Fandom: KinnPorsche: The Series (TV)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence
Relationships: Pete Phongsakorn Saengtham/Vegas Kornwit Theerapanyakul
When he and his grandmother owe the minor family a debt, Pete finds himself pushed deeper into the mafia world than ever before. Working for Vegas sounds like Pete’s idea of Hell. But when feelings develop and lives are on the line, will the Devil finally admit he’s met his match?
Pete hadn’t known what to expect when he thought of entering the minor family compound, perhaps an underground bunker or a sleek modern building guarded as if it were Fort Knox.
Neither seemed to be the case, however. They walked through what seemed like a maze of market stalls, a mixture of food and other products, all with the bustle of people surrounding them. Everyone greeted Vegas as he walked through; Pete could practically feel these people’s respect for him through their interactions.
Strange.
Pete assumed there would be a certain level of fear underlying any kind of respect shown to Vegas, yet, the warmth on people’s faces suggested otherwise.
“You run this market?” Pete asked as a lady forcibly handed him a pork skewer; he smiled in thanks, grateful as he had skipped breakfast that morning.
“I own the space, but I let the stall owners sell their products and keep the profit. And in return, they all keep their eyes open for anything suspicious and report to me accordingly,” Vegas led him around a corner and into a door that needed a passcode.
Pete made a noise of acknowledgement as he watched Vegas open the door, a bodyguard on the other side holding a large automatic weapon. They were inside what looked like an empty building; a few people milled about on chairs, and people played card games. Again they all greeted Vegas familiarly, and Pete’s curiosity began to grow.
“You look surprised. Were you expecting something different?” Vegas asked, coming to walk beside him instead.
“I don’t know what I was expecting to be honest,” Pete replied truthfully, “It reminds me of home; everyone greets Yaai the same.”
“We must have similar methods of leadership then.”
Once out of their building, they came onto an empty road opposite what looked like another vacant building.
“What is this, a maze?” Pete asked suspiciously, causing Vegas to chuckle.
“When you have a reputation like we do, tight security is the bare minimum,” Vegas explained, leading Pete down another corridor with more guards with guns. “I have enemies that would shoot me on site; I have no interest in them knowing where I live.”
It was then that they entered a building that, this time, was not empty. Walking down winding, dark wooden stairs, Pete couldn’t help but stare at the massive glass sculpture hanging from the ceiling.
Not his taste in decor, but still impressive.
