Laudna took a few tentative steps into this clearing and listened to the music, beginning to realize that it was originating from somewhere up in the treetops. She approached one tree in particular, and peered up into its branches. There, she found a songbird, but not like one she’d ever encountered before. As she watched this bird sing, it took a moment as she was enraptured by its song for her to realized that it was not sitting on the branch, but rather, was the branch. “What the—“ As the words escaped her lips, one of the massive roots of this tree moved at her feet, making to wrap around her. Quickly recognizing now that she was in danger, Laudna dropped the sticks and berries she held and began to flee. She ran back across the clearing as several similar looking song birds continued to chase her untethered to any other wildlife or growth here. As they chased her, she looked over her shoulder and watched as their shape changed to that of several taller, ominous shade creatures; long spindly arms and clawed hands at their ends stretched out reaching for her. “Imogen!” She cried out searching for her partner, but not hearing any response as she continued to run. She stumbled over other tree roots and across stray rocks and plants, keeping to her feet as best she could. “Imogen! We need to run!”

I just thought of this since a post or so below mentioned they were going to study. If you have ever read a fanfic and went i want to hear this be read but there is no podfic or you just don't like podfics I have news for you.

Download the fic you want to be read out loud as a PDF and the app ReadEra you can for free listen to work. Now it is going to be a Google translate like voice and you can only speed it up to certain number for free but i use it quiet often. You can also use it as a PDF reader without the voice and start anywhere you like.
