hi just had to come into ur ask box to say that i read ur peter fic and enjoyed every single thing about it 😭😭 im a bit silly and didnt realize the miss jersey mj thing but HOLY CRAP ur brain is massive. i think its soooooo heartwarming how u had jersey fit so seamlessly into the universe :(( i love peter and u wrote him so perfectly :( an incredible mix of awkward and lovely
and i just had to tell u that after reading “two knives, two forks.” i literally had to put my phone down. flat on the table tears in MY EYES. hes not alone anymore 😭😭😭😭
one of my fave peter fics ever thank u so much for ur genius
This means so much to me, thank you! It truly makes my day to hear that this Peter resonated with you, and that you like Jersey and thought she felt natural to the story. And omg thank you 😭 I didn’t anticipate how many people would be so devastated by the cutlery observation when I originally wrote it, so it has been lovely seeing the resolution embraced so much haha. I hope you’re having a lovely day/night! x

whenever something good happens in this godforsaken country, or any other country in latam, there is always some dipshit saying something about how shamefull it is that the US is losing at progressiveness. I swear to god, people in the global north are so fucking condescendent. You people have not let go of the enlightenment's ideas of progress, as if everyone else is a buch of backwater people taht cannot possibly have complex thoughts about their lives and society.
Argentina has some of the best trans policies in the world, transfeminicide is typified in its law. Transfeminicide is also now typified in Mexico city's law, after the hard efforts of trans women who fought to get this done. The US and many countries in Europe don't even have feminicide typified, which Mexico and many otehr coutnries in Latam ahve had for years. People here organize and figth for their rights despite having to go against the goverment, the police, organized crime and the influence of the global north that actively works to stop progress in the global south for its own interests, often getting killed for it. Did you know Mexico is considered the most dangerous place to be a journalist? And yet people don't stop.
I have sat at meetings with different feminist organizations across Latin America and they are have very profound things to say about these topics in the context of living in wars, under imperialism, with a fragmented identity due to colonization, etc. There is very rich literature on all kinds of social problems that you guys don't know about because it's written in a language you don't speak and your academies have long looked down on. We don't have to learn from you or follow your example, we don't need you.

thinking about when Buffy comes back in s6 and something's not quite right with her and that look on Spike's face when he says "clawed her way out of her coffin that's how. done it myself" like. he is seeing her. she's herself but different, a little more like him. THEN when Spike comes back in s7 and something's obviously not right with him, and Buffy's face in the church when she realizes he got his soul back and he did it on purpose. to be more like her.
^ when your shadow counterpart returns from their identity-altering metaphysical journey looking more like you than they ever have before

Be respectful when filming or taking pictures in public.
It's one thing if you're filming or taking a picture of a busy tourist attraction where it's unavoidable that some of the crowd is going to be in your picture or video. But it's another thing to intentionally take a picture or video with the intent of capturing someone doing something you find funny or embarrassing, without their consent, with the purpose of mocking them or having "funny" content.
First of all, most people are going to rightfully feel like it's a violation of their boundaries to be intentionally filmed or photographed without their consent. It's also just bullying behavior to take a picture or video of someone with the intention of mocking or ridiculing them.
Some people might think it's harmless if the other person never finds out they're being filmed or photographed, but it's still heavily disrespectful regardless of whether or not they find out. And you can't ever be certain it won't get back around to them.
And some people think "it's all in good fun" or "we're laughing with them, not at them" but if it's someone you barely know, or don't know at all, you can't know how it's actually going to make them feel.

I have Thoughts about Quinn's treatment in season 3A and the way media often portrays punk subculture
I always hate it when "dressing punk" is somehow a symbol of a character going off the rails and becoming a bad person - as if the character was once a pure, innocent lamb who lost their way and strayed to a life of immorality just because they dyed their hair. Why is the punk makeover never a sign of empowerment? A sign that a character has chosen to go against oppressive social expectations? That they are choosing themselves and their own freedom and bodily autonomy and self-confidence?
Like, most punks and goths I know are genuine, empathetic, and respectful people.
Yes, Quinn was clearly struggling with her mental health and was lost during season 3A. However, I hate the response of everyone around her being "oh my god, you died your hair pink and you're wearing black, I can't fathom anything more disappointing". After everything this girl has gone through and been told, time and time again, that she is a disappointment and "not enough", here she is doing something to give herself a sense of control and belonging and empowerment and being met with yet more puritanical bullshit.
I wish we had had more time with punk!Quinn. And, more than anything, I wish her punk era was seen as, at least in part, positive and empowering.

Ive been brewing a theory that people are obsessed with demanding media show them morally good things because we're replacing religion with tv shows and pop culture in general in our everyday life. From one story, one form of escapism that dictates our life and community seeking to another, humanity has always been the same. Or rather, there will always be forms of control to keep us occupied and distracted (at the same time it wouldn't be so effective if we weren't intrinsically wired to seek a distraction from reality, so i can't even blame people who "fall" for it. I think it's a natural instinct that helps people build a lens to approach reality through, to stay sane in a meaningless irrational world.)

Idk if it's just a tonal thing not coming across well in text or what, but a lot of the PC's newer (potential) lines with Halsin just sound very condescending for no reason.

Comedic Barnaby ask here again! I'm sorry, I meant your Modern Human au thingy, my bad lmao.
ohhh ok - was just informed that you probably mean comedian, which makes a lot more sense than what my mind was interpreting!
he does actually do little side gigs around comedy! he even got a degree in clowning, but his main job (at the "present day" part of the timeline) is bartending at the same queer club that Eddie does drag performances in! sometimes Barns will open a show etc with a lil' stand-up act, and when he can, he'll do other comedy-based stuff at local venues
