i won’t act like dean’s initial reaction to rory not saying i love you back wasn’t immature and unncessarily meanspiriited because it was. but what i will ALSO say, IN ADDITION to that, is that saying you love someone always feels like a big deal, but when you’re a teenager especially. you’re so young, making it particularly hard to put yourself out there. i’m not saying that rory owed him an immediate response or that he didn’t act like a jerk - only that i understand why a teenage boy who just told his girlfriend that he loves her for the first time is feeling particularly overwhelmed, vulnerable, and hurt when he thinks he just put himself out there and that she doesn’t feel the same way.
on the other hand, i’m genuinely interested in what dean’s reaction says about how men are taught to react with acting out when expressing their vulnerable sides doesn’t go to plan and how that plays into toxic masculinity but i doubt the writers were thinking about it that deeply honestly.

hear me out…cat x dog going on a date in a field eating strawberries and painting, dog runs after a butterfly and cat just stares in admiration before painting him TYDDYFDDDYTVG (+ messy make out)
HEAR ME OUT
-🌊🦈🫐
THIS IS SO CUTE
personally i imagine, no matter if ur good at art or not, minjun would still be better LMFOAOA
but still that just gives him chances to stand behind you and hold your hand to make the prettiest strokes on ur canvas in order to recreate the view infront of you two <3
then after he takes over your brush, u jus run off and look at the scene infront of u!! and hey omg is that a butterfly!!??
fic was made w male reader in mind, but could be thought of as gn or fem <3!
"puppy?" he calls out but still stares at the canvas, finishing one last minor detail before putting all of his attention onto looking for you - and luckily it doesn't take that long because you jumping around and giggling at the butterfly sticks out like a sore thumb. but he doesn't mind.
the raven haired male smiles and gets an idea, putting half of his attention back on the canvas. quickly and neatly, he draws a little version of you on the canvas.
his smile grows wider watching you fall down and trip, "so cute.." he chuckles before continuing on his mini doodle of you.
he finishes and steps back, admiring the pretty painting that's now perfect with the little drawing of you jumping around with a butterfly.
putting the brush and palette down, he walks over to you. "tired?" you look up at him with those doe eyes of yours, giggling softly. "mhm"
"i'm glad," he sits down next to you, pulling you closer. "means you won't have any energy when we get home"
"then what if i make you carry me home"
"then i'll sulk and make you feel bad"
".."
he chuckles at your expression before placing a soft kiss just below your lips. "cmon, you know i'd carry you to the ends of the earth" "you're so cringey!"
he laughs while you push him away, but you place yourself on his lap. "we're in public bab-" "we aren't fucking!"
he swears he hasn't laughed this much since before he met you. from your pretty looks to your bubbly personality, he realizes how much you've impacted his life. "i love you" he blurts out, staring directly into your eyes.
he sees you open your mouth to say something, presumably say it back but he doesn't let you. he leans up and gives you a peck on the lips, one on your cheek, nose, then back to your lips.
despite being silent the whole time he gave you those pecks, the second his lips were on yours, you immediately responded happily. kissing him back and smiling in between.
"love you so much.." he murmurs in between kisses, it's unfair really! he says something yet before you can respond he just presses his lips back onto yours!
he deepens the kiss by grabbing the back of your head and biting your lip, asking for permission. he almost laughs when you immediately grant him it, letting his tongue into your mouth.
he groans when you reposition yourself on his lap, subtly grinding against him. he pulls away and whispers against your lips, "let's go home hm?"
"okay" you get off his lap and follow behind minjun, watching him pick up the canvas.
but when someone else calls his name and walks towards him, clinging onto his arm, you can't help but be hit with an undeniable feeling of jealousy and sadness.
you guys aren't really together, how could you forget?
wasn't exactly a messy makeout but stilll ><

SPOILERS FOR THE FNAF MOVIE!!
I just got home from seeing the fnaf movie and I'm basically gonna unload everything I thought of it.. bear in mind it's just my opinion (haha get it cause.. bear. freddy fa- *gunshot*)
it wasn't bad!!!! we won 🎉🎉 it was literally so good and completely worth my five year wait
now obviously it wasn't a perfect film, there were definitely moments where I was like hmmmm.... really???... but other than that it had pretty much everything I ever wanted out of a fnaf movie
speaking of hm really moments.. matpat? in MY fnaf movie??? it's more likely than you think. he literally said it's just a theory. I'm not mad that he's in it I do love that he got that opportunity but did you really have to make him say it? it was kinda funny tho... I'll give them that
we're sooo back william girlies HE'S NOT JUST STEVE RAGLAN 🙏 I was so right
I wasn't right about mike being an afton but do I care? no. at least they're still connected in some way
however.. vanessa? is william's daughter? really didn't see that one coming and idk how to feel about it. I know there were theories here and there from sb that vanessa is his niece or grand daughter or smth, but still
ok now I wanna talk about the positives.. there are way more positives than negatives obvi yay
i LOVED the ending. that last shot of william squirming around on the floor in the spring bonnie suit while the spirit was watching... I was gagged
I have to talk about the scene of mike in will's office when they meet for the first time cause that was kind of insane... the way he paused in the middle of saying mike's name I was like oooooo 🤭🤭 and ngl when he stood up bro I almost moaned matthew lillard is so fine fr. speaking of, matthew was absolutely my favourite part. he had the least screen time but he stole the whole spotlight, he was THE best choice and I stand by that
mike's dream sequences were so cool and interesting I loved how much the spirits were involved with the story and how they got to interact with mike
yk that scene where abby, mike and vanessa were making the fort with the animatronics.. I know for a fact that people are gonna complain about that and say that it was cringey and unnecessary but you kinda have to understand... they're still kids. yeah they're not alive, but they're not just animatronics either. it was a bit nice to see them be like that with the main characters. and when abby handed bonnie that little heart I was just 😭😭😭 that was so cute
the. the fucking. scene with max?? getting her whole body split in half.. woah I was speechless it was so cool. plus a reference to the bite of 83 kind of? so good
I'll definitely have some more thoughts once I go see it again cause trust i WILL be seeing it as many times as I can idc

“Never mess with a Mafia Lord.”
Tumblr media
Author's Note: Well, here it is. Must be the longest actual smut I've written on this blog. Hopefully, my scenes are not too cringey. My very first attempt at Mafia!Bucky and I hope you all enjoy it.
Summary: Bucky Barnes has got eyes only for his queen. But what happens when she takes it too far in front of his men?
(Word Count: 1935 words)
Warnings: Mature Themes, Minors DO NOT INTERACT, dom!Bucky, edging, no use of y/n, lots of teasing, dirty talk
She knew better than to question him. When he wanted to treat her nice… He went all out, whatever that entailed, from quiet nights to extravagant dinner dates at the restaurant overlooking New York which ended up with the two rolling around in bed, where he made sure to have her shaking with desire. Sometimes, the fearsome mob boss would be the one who surrendered to her seduction; he was only willing to submit to her. But sometimes he wasn’t feeling that merciful. Take tonight for example. He was in the middle of an important meeting, and she was acting like a brat. While he actually liked it when she was like that, right now he found it irritating. The rest of the mafia bosses were exchanging looks of amusement, thinking that the girl was actually cute, acting like that. But for Barnes, it was distracting. And she did nothing to help. Yes, she was being quiet, so she wouldn’t make it more awkward for him, but the way her nimble hands found their way onto his shoulders caused him to feel a certain way, suddenly eager to conclude the meeting and drag her to their bedroom. And that’s how she knew she had accomplished her mission, which was to get his mind completely distracted.
“If you’ll excuse me, gentlemen... I will have to overlook dinner for a while, but it was nice seeing you all..” She mused, leaning down, brushing her lips against Bucky’s stubble, in that tantalizing way she knew made him yearn for more.
Oh, she was in for it, Bucky thought. Once the meeting was concluded, he made his way into their bedroom, where he found her, laying on the king-sized bed, clad in only a dark red set of lingerie, eyeing him with sheer anticipation and it made his brain short circuit. She was indeed a vision; yet, he couldn’t let go of the little stunt she pulled in his office in front of everyone. “I asked one simple thing… No interruptions baby girl…” He growled, fumbling with his tie. To this, she only giggled teasingly. “Not my fault I am married to the hottest mob boss in New York... I was bored without you…” She then pouted, motioning for him to join her in bed. The next thing she knew, was that she was being pinned down, hands above her head, and Bucky towering over her smaller frame, drinking her in. “I was going to be generous tonight but after what you did… I think you need to be punished…” Came his response, and she blinked innocently. Punishment? That was new for her. But it made the game all the more exciting. Before she was able to get a word out, his lips found her own for a few fleeting moments. “So much for punishing me… All words from the big bad mafia boss..” She teased, wanting to get to the main event faster. Mouthing off was the way to go when she was in the mood. And quite frankly, he loved it too. “Don’t be a smart mouth.” He snapped, deciding to bind her hands over the bedpost. “You’ve been a brat all day and I’m tired of your games..” He smirked nudging her knees apart. “So here is what’s going to happen. I am going to spank you five times, and if you’re a good girl, maybe I will allow you to come…” He announced, his blue eyes darkening as he watched her squirming slightly. She obviously had no idea what he was about to do…
Her heart was thundering against her chest, like a deer that had been caught in the wolf’s den. Bucky was eyeing her like a predator, ready to pounce on her, and it only served to grow the excitement within her. This man had a unique talent of igniting her whole body on fire with just one word, or a mere look. This is what they both enjoyed the most. The teasing remarks, the intimate touches, the kisses shared; Bucky may be rough time and time again, but every time he made sure she was comfortable. If anything, he likes to ensure that she will enjoy this as much as he will. “Hmmm… Are you going to punish me? Or do I have to take matters into my own hands… daddy?” She smirked suddenly turning the tables on him.
So much for her innocent act, Bucky thought, clearly taken aback by how fast she flipped positions.
“Keep calling me that, and I’ll make sure you won’t be able to walk for a week…” He growled, drawing a giggle out of her. “You think you’re in the positions to make threats? Darlin’, you’ve been nothing but words so far..” She taunted, slowly reaching behind her back to unclasp the straps, giving him a little show. Bucky decided to lean up to brush his lips against hers but  she stopped him abruptly, pushing him back into the mattress, a devious glint flashing in her eyes, nails scratching along his muscled chest. “Who says I’m afraid of the big bad Mafia boss?” Again, she couldn’t help the bratty attitude. She wanted to coax some kind of reaction out of him. And judging by how he was trying to keep his cool around her, she could see that her actions were getting to him. “See? I knew it. All words, baby..” She finally purred, gently suckling at his earlobe.
Oh, he wouldn’t let that slide. He loved the allure she exhibited, but she needed to be reminded of her place.  And there was the wild side she loved so much. “I think someone needs to be reminded of their place..” Bucky growled flipping positions once again, her back exposed to his hungry stare. “Now. As I promised.” He grinned innocently, swatting at her rear, eliciting one of those delicious moans that spurred him on. “Count.” He snapped swatting at her backside. “Mm.. I’ve been a bad girl…” She whispered, grinding against his crotch, wishing to create some friction between them. “Oh, you’ve been a bad girl now, have you?” He taunted, caressing her buttocks before delivering another spank, drawing a breathless giggle out of her. All this foreplay was killing her though. “I said… count!” he snapped spanking her once again, the sound bouncing off the walls of the spacious master bedroom. “Bucky pl—Three!” she whined, grinding against him more urgently. But her desperate pleas fell on deaf ears as he continued punishing her. “That’s what you get for pulling stunts like that baby girl…” He stated, squeezing her cheeks before delivering more spanks, rendering the supple flesh red. “Oh please, you liked it—FUCK!” Damn. Her smart mouth was turning him on even more, and he felt he would combust at any point.
At this point she was a blubbering mess, moaning, bucking hips against his member, as he eased up momentarily on her punishment, to reward her with a surprisingly gentle kiss, a stark contrast from his dominating persona. “You’re right… I did like it… But it took everything in me not to bend you over and take you right there and then while everyone watching.” His admission made her wetter if that was even possible. “God… I need you… please…!” She begged once more bucking against his shaft. And who was he to say no when she looked so beautiful begging?
“Hmm. Since you’re begging like this… Who am I to refuse you?”
And with that, he slipped inside her wet heat, an appreciative growl leaving his throat, as he set a steady pace, driving himself in and out of her, stopping occasionally to whisper all the ways he would make her come undone. “Make me scream and I will make sure to repay the favor…” She mused, letting out the most obscene sound. Man, she was temptation personified. Her words held so many promises and it made him tense up in anticipation. But he wouldn’t give it to her so easy. Just as she was about to come, he stopped his ministrations abruptly, making her look up at him in disbelief. Was he serious right now? She was so close and he decided to slip out of her now?!
“Barnes… I swear if you don’t fuck me right now, I’m going to scream…” She snapped, desperate, her core clenching around nothing. Oh, there was the bratty attitude again…
“Who said you can demand things? Mm?” He growled pinning her hands over her head, lips dangerously close to her own but he didn’t actually kiss her. But who was he kidding? He was dying for a taste… So without further delay, he began leaving dark bruises all the way down to her abdomen, marking her, as he inched close to the spot she needed him the most. “This is all for me sweetheart?” He asked, a taunting lilt lacing his voice before he dove in, sucking and biting gently at her folds, smirking at the pornographic moan that left her lips. “Don’t you dare cum just yet.. You hear me?” He ordered. He couldn’t help it though. He had a tendency of being a little shit while in bed generally…
However, after what felt like hours of endless teasing, he decided to be merciful and give her what she desperately needed. “I think you learned your lesson doll, didn’t you?” He teased, placing a featherlight kiss to her mouth as he placed her on top of him. “Go on.. Make a mess all over me…” He urged her, as she began bouncing on him slowly at the beginning but then she picked up her pace, until they both hit that euphoric state. “Shit! I’m going to come…” She keened, almost sure that the staff in the mansion would be able to hear them with how loud they were… “Fuck… Let go baby! I’m right there with you...” James’s voice came out quite strained, due to the onslaught of pleasure that crashed over their exhausted bodies. At the end of this debauchery, they both felt sated. “I think I’ll act like a brat more often if it makes you treat me like this…” She joked settling down beside him, a goofy grin playing on her face.  “Just don’t make it a habit in front of my men…” He teased in response, not missing the pout on her face. “Then don’t neglect me next time..” Came her witty remark, making him laugh out loud. “Oh, that’s how it is?” He trailed off between chuckles as they shared yet another slow, fervent kiss, watching the sunrise from their window. “I love you.” She mumbled cupping his stubbled cheeks. Sweet gestures like that always made the tough mobster melt in her embrace. Everyone in New York knew of his ruthless side, but she was the only one that got to see a softer side. “I love you too doll… To the moon and back.” He whispered, watching as her warm brown eyes drifted shut. She was exhausted after all… And since he had no urgent matters that needed attention, he chose to take it slow and rest.
Well, rest was a matter of perspective. In this line of work, there was no taking it easy. But right now, he didn’t want any dark thoughts to ruin this perfect morning, so he decided to finally surrender to a sleep filled with pleasant dreams.
Meanwhile, the head of the rival Mob, Brock Rumlow was devising a strategy to overthrow Barnes. And he knew exactly what to do. Or rather who to hunt.
@world-of-aus Hope you like it. And yes. I finished with a cliffhanger. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. Mwahahaha

!Spoilers for Chalice of the Gods!
I read Chalice of the Gods and I gotta say, I loved it so much. There's just so much I want to talk about, so spoilers for those who haven't read it yet, bc I'm about to geek out over how the characters are portrayed.
Firstly, Percy. He's a veteran from TWO different wars, and the only reason why he wants to go to New Rome is because he knows that he'll be safe there, and that he can have a family with Annabeth if they live there. That's all he wants. To be safe with those that he loves, and to live his life to the fullest. New Rome is the best place for that.
He actively says that it's a nice chance of pace when he can just sleep in his room, not having to worry about his mother getting hurt by an asshole in the middle of the night. He likes being able to spend time with his family, to not have to worry about survival. He likes to feel safe.
Which is why I love how he's shown to be so tired of running around, out on quests for the gods. It's only natural for someone to want to get away from something that's the basis of their trauma, but Percy can't get away from it. He knows that.
He's also very disgusted about how Ganymede is treated, that much is clear. He decides, from looking at how Ganymede is treated by the other gods, that he made the right choice in turning down immortality. At the time, it was for a girl who he wasn't even dating yet. In COTG, he sticks to that because he does not want to leave that same girl, but also because he doesn't see immortality as a gift, but rather a curse. He's seen how it affects the gods, who think that they are all so high and mighty. There are exceptions, sure, but you gotta admit that most of the gods are narcissists.
Zeus is the largest narcissist in the entire book. He's the reason why Ganymede is scared of eagles, which are his sacred animal. He doesn't care for how Ganymede feels. He just cares about having eye candy to oogle whenever the fuck he feels like it. I think that the brunch scene, where Percy's hiding on a pastry cart and is subjected to Zeus' story of when he was younger and all alone when his siblings were stuck inside of Kronos' stomach is a very clear sign of that. He's playing it up, trying to get pity points or something, but all he's doing is annoying everyone else.
To be honest, I love how Rick showed the Big Three. We have Zeus, an obvious airhead who is narcissistic, which fits with his whole thing of being the sky god. Poseidon is much calmer than Zeus, not narcissistic like his younger brother. He reflects the nature of the sea - often unpredictable, going from gentle waves that are perfect to swim in to towering waves meant to kill. Poseidon is more fun, more caring, yet still easily angered (I think that the main reason why he was saved from being killed in one of the books is because Poseidon clearly cares about his child, and will go bat-shit crazy if he was murdered). He cares about Percy, even if he can't show it. He always watched over his son, and will continue to do so as Percy breathes.
Hades is probably one of my favorite gods out of the Big Three (I only really hate Zeus though, so that probably explains it) because, like his brothers, he reflects his domain. Sure, he's dark and gloomy, but he's more grounded than his brothers are. He doesn't kidnap pretty mortals like Zeus and he's definitely that guy who gets consent before sleeping with someone (his relationship with Nico and Bianca's mother is too strong to be something born from anything but consent, because she is shown to actually love Hades to some degree. He's not someone who does things like have children with mortal women without their permission.)
Some people say that the book is cringey, that it's not as good as Rick's other books. Those other books are about a kid thrust into war too young, his childhood ripped away from him the moment he's born. This one is about a teenager who is dealing with the after-effects of that, trying to navigate life as normally as possible when it's insanely impossible when he's a demigod. All Percy wants is peace, to live with Annabeth and grow old with her and Grover. That's why Rick wrote it. As an aspiring author myself, I can appreciate the beauty of a story where all the main character wants is to rest from a traumatic life.
Remember that this is my opinion, and that you're all free to have your own. I'd actually love to hear what you guys think of it.

The Missteps of Bridgerton Season 3
I love Bridgerton, I love Polin, and I enjoyed the first half of the season fine... but as someone who'd started watching Bridgerton only because of Polin, who'd read the book, and who had been looking forward to this particular season from the very beginning, I have to admit that I was a little disappointed by what we got. Not because it wasn't good, but because it wasn't as amazing as it could've been.
And no, I will not be tagging this as 'anti.' I've gone through the anti tag, and it's some very vile bull from people who genuinely hate the show or hate the characters (or hate other fans), and I love them. I just have some criticism of a few choices made.
So. If you can't handle any critique to the show at all, then please don't read the rest of this. Otherwise, grab some tea and a snack because I have quite a few thoughts.
I don't even know where to start.
I think the most frustrating thing for me in the beginning was how many other plotlines they tried to shove into this season. I don't want to sound mean, but I don't care about Will and Alice's business, I don't care about Benedict's boring relationship with another dArInG wOmAn WhO dEfIeS sOcIeTy'S eXpEcTaTiOnS (more on that later), I don't care about Cressida's redemption.
In fact, let's start with her. This was such a bad fucking idea. Not the redemption itself, though I don't know why some storytellers think there are no unlikable people in the world, why every woman especially has to be redeemed and forgiven. Some are just awful, they exist, it happens. It's okay to have scenes of our characters just reacting to these people and navigating kindness and forgiveness in spite of them. But anyway, working on Cressida's redemption in this kind of story doesn't freaking work. Why? Because we've seen this character put Penelope through endless shit already, and her season is not the season to work on her bully's redemption. Because Penelope already lost her best friend to this girl, and trying to redeem her now isolates Penelope even more, because instead of Eloise getting to properly realize how much she's lost in giving up Penelope as a friend, we're getting her genuinely bonding and getting closer to someone else. Most importantly, redeeming Cressida now doesn't fucking work because you have her and Penelope competing for the affections of the same guy.
You can't pit the girl we want to see win and root for against her bully for the affections of a man, and try to make us sympathetic for the bully. Are we not supposed to want Penelope to get him? Are we not supposed to root for Penelope? I get the idea of complex characters and relationships, but for the love of the gods, Penelope has been crapped on over and over and over in this series. I don't know about anybody else, but I got so excited when I saw her with Lord Debling in the promos because I thought, "Finally! We're going to see Penelope actually be pursued and cherished by someone else!" And instead? We have her embarrassing herself in cringey and awkward conversations against the bully we're also supposed to sympathize with? This was the show's chance to finally give Penelope someone who values her, but oh no, we have to show how tough things are for Cressida, so we have to make her actual competition who actually connects to Debling as well. So which is it, writers? Are we supposed to root for Penelope or Cressida? When Penelope wins, which is already unfair because she's had to bust her butt to get this guy so it's always her in pursuit, how are we supposed to be happy for her when Cressida is in the corner all sad?
Don't get me wrong, when Cressida chose not to gossip about Penelope at the ball, I was really touched. But the problem in trying to redeem her is that it works, which then creates a whole other problem when her and our heroine are then competing for the same guy!
Speaking of that guy; Lord Debling. I'm conflicted on him because I like how much he comes to learn about Penelope (arguably more than Colin does, but we'll get into that later), and I like how genuinely kind he is. But I hated seeing Penelope have to embarrass herself in front of him. I hated that we had to watch this girl who already feels like less than everyone else not even properly get this guy's attention for half the time we know him. Why did the writers think that would be fun to watch? I thought a majority of the time with him would be spent with Colin's jealousy, but even in those brief moments when Colin was jealous, it was from a distance, and we knew that in reality, those conversations Penelope was having with Debling were awkward and kind of degrading to her character.
Which brings me to my biggest pet peeve in this whole thing. The changes made to Penelope herself. Look. I'm not a stickler for accurate adaptations, okay? I don't care if the adaptation matches the source material so long as it's entertaining, which is why I enjoy the Percy Jackson movies more than the actual show. How I see it, we get two different, very fun and likable versions of a beloved story. So I didn't come into this season hoping it would be like the book, I just hoped it would be a good time. However...
Something I did appreciate in the book, and in the past two Bridgerton seasons, was Penelope's wisdom. She was hopeful with Colin, but realistic. She knew she would probably never be with him, but she was determined to be happy anyway. Lady Danbury even calls her something along the lines of the cleverest person in the room, and that's why she takes such a liking to her. Penelope is supposed to be clever, witty, amusing, and wise enough to know that even if she may not get everything she wants, she has her best friend and a guide in Lady Danbury and the small joys of being alongside the Bridgertons, and that was enough for her. Colin saw her for that wisdom and wit, saw the love and joy and pride she had in her work, saw that her priorities were the people she loved and the craft she'd perfected, and fell in love with her for it.
Here? She's the butt of every joke, she's a subject of mockery and dismissals, she's someone to be pitied, not appreciated. Yes, she was a wallflower in the book too, but she had at least a few supporting figures who she admired and helped her be happy where she was. I don't care SO much that they switched the scene of him finding out she's Whistledown, so much as the fact that they changed the meaning behind it. Her and Colin honestly spent so little time together because the show was trying to shoehorn in all these other plots, and so when he suddenly decides he's going to stop her marriage, it feels like he just does it because he's horny! In the book, he's impressed with the strong, talented, and passionate woman she is. In the show, I technically know that he wants to be married to his best friend, but the scenes I was most looking forward to with Colin and Penelope properly talking more and getting to really know each other aren't even there, so based off what friendly interaction had he suddenly learned to see her differently?
Finding out she was Whistledown was a shock to him, and it pushed him over the edge of his feelings for her. Not to mention, him finding out she was Whistledown told him so much about her as a person. Really think about it; what does Colin Bridgerton in the show know about Penelope? Nothing! Lord Debling knows more about her interests and what she enjoys better than Colin does! Knowing about Whistledown also gave him access to a secret part of her that no one else was privy to! Taking that away means that when they get married, Penelope knows everything about Colin and his travels and what he enjoys, and he knows next to NOTHING about her! So we spent the season with her being a joke to everyone, her having to compete for a guy and fail for a good long conversation, and then her ending up in a relationship with a guy who never bothered to get to know her? Fun.
In fact, why don't we talk a little more about Colin, too. Um. What the fuck was he writing? I don't care that it's sexual, but him describing Greek beaches and Scottish pubs in the book and interactions he's had with people shows exactly how grown he really is without him even knowing it. In the book, Colin hated being known for nothing but his charm. He even resented it and turned bitter when Penelope brought it up! He wanted to be more than that, he wanted to have a real purpose and be taken seriously and even be perceived more like Anthony. Writing about the landscapes he'd seen on his travels and his interactions showed that he wasn't just travelling to sleep his way through Europe, but that he was actually learning about new cultures and experiencing new worlds and lands. Here? He's just writing smut! In itself, it would be fine, except that he CLEARLY had a problem not having a purpose in his conversation with Anthony and Benedict and when Penelope praised his writing, so he does want the same thing Book Colin does, except... doesn't just writing erotica completely undermine his whole thing of wanting to be known as more than a charming flirt??
Not to mention, Book Colin ends up publishing his travel journals, so how's this version going to do that? You can tell us he's doing it at the end, but it will ring hollow because we all saw what he's been writing, so if they try to divert at the end to Book Colin's ending, it won't make any sense when we've already heard what he's written. In that time period, how the hell is he going to publish that? AND Book Colin ends up giving his stuff to Penelope to read once they're married because he wants her opinion on it! How the hell is that going to work, giving your wife your erotica with other women to test read? I know it could be done, but the charm of the book version is then gone because it feels like you've reduced a cultured man to a rake who just wants to gloat about how many foreign women he'd gotten to sleep with. Doesn't even that then undermine the whole flirty act he put on in the first episode when even Lady Whistledown could tell he was just pretending to be someone he wasn't??
I'm so tired, so I'm going to end this with a few final notes:
Why does arguably the most charming Bridgerton brother, Benedict, always get the most BORING storyline? I hate the woman he's with, there's absolutely nothing original or charming about her, and I am SICK TO DEATH of these so-called "quirky, strong women who don't care what anybody else says because they're edgy like that," it's just so cliched, and I need that archetype to die already. I thought they were going to do something with the fact that she's clearly a lot older than him, but they don't address it at all, so there goes that interesting concept.
Francesca's fickleness was getting on my last nerve, and I was so bored with her storyline until she met that guy. Their relationship is a cute and unique one, but before he shows up, nothing of what she wants is clear. She doesn't mind meeting a guy, but the second someone actually tries speaking to her, she backs off. She wants to talk about music, but when someone tries to speak to her about music, she backs off. I just couldn't get a reading on what she wanted.
I really don't care at all about Will and Alice's business. It's the same storyline every freaking season.
Eloise's whole "It's not nice when Whistledown writes about you, is it?" is very stupid because Lady Whistledown has written plenty about Penelope's family before that point (and in the book, about Penelope herself). You can't have Colin acknowledging that Whistledown outed Marina in the first episode, and then have Eloise forget that Penelope threw her own family name under the bus to protect Colin.
The carriage scene, I'm sorry, was cringey and came a little bit out of nowhere. And I really didn't like that Colin was backing away until, again, Penelope put herself forward. She's always the pursuer, and I'd hoped for something different this season. I also didn't like that she had to be dumped first. Like, yeah, let's really not give her a single break until Colin deems it time to actually do something for her.
That's all I've got that I can think of, at least in terms of negative criticism. I'm sure more will come to me later, but this was the big stuff. And I don't want to hear anything about, "But Rin, the season's not done yet!" Yeah, but half of it is. No matter what happens in the last four episodes, this was how they started. I guess when the cast said it was their most graphic season so far, they meant the most graphic for everyone but the main couple, and isn't that what you wanted to see?

— DID YOU FORGOT ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
# kyojuro rengoku
synopsis : kyojuro convinces himself that you and the others have forgotten his birthday. is it true though?
tags : gn!reader, tiny bit of angst, fluff, birthday celebration.
a/n : i wanted to post it earlier but things got in the way and i finished writing it too late 😭 but at least i posted something for kyojuro’s birthday, even if it’s 2 days late. it’s shorter than originally planned & probably a bit cringey, but anyway, enjoy <3 + new format guys !!!!
Tumblr media
kyojuro never meant to say to everyone when was his birthday. if they asked him, well of course he would reply. you were the one to inform all the other pillars and convinced them to celebrate it. after all, kyojuro was loved and appreciated by all of them.
this had been going on for a couple of years, and he wasn’t annoyed by the others knowing. that’s why he was confused now.
you were going on with your day as usual, you wished him a good day and then left for training. nothing else.
did they forgot?
that’s what he thought. could you really forget his birthday after the exceptional efforts you always put for his special day in the past years? impossible, ... right?
when kyojuro met uzui, he basically did the same. “ah, rengoku! flashy as always, i see. have a good day,” he smiled down at his friend before walking away.
tengen usually put kyojuro in the spotlight on his birthday, but today was different, it was odd.
did i do something to disrespect him?
the same scene repeated itself with mitsuri and shinobu too. they simply greeted him and went on with their chatting, kind of ignoring him at this point.
are they upset with me?
kyojuro spent the whole day training alone, and he found difficult to concentrate completely on the task at hand. now this is very strange. the way you and the others treated him today was unusual, especially for you and mitsuri. birthday or not, you two always expressed freely how happy you were to have kyojuro around. you didn’t even kissed him three times before exiting the house.
you usually kissed him three times every day, five on his birthday. it was some kind of habit before exiting the house.
kyojuro tried to think what happened in the past few days, to see if he actually did something to make you all act that way.
in conclusion, he couldn’t notice anything wrong in what he did or said. was it something that was fine with him, but wrong for the others then? he always tried his best to respect the others and be kind.
maybe i forgot something important…
─────────────────────
“i feel so bad!” mitsuri cried, sitting beside shinobu. “he looked so sad!” obanai simply watched her, somehow jealous for her concern over another male, but then he remembered she was talking about rengoku.
“why are we here.. again?” muichiro glanced at the others, his expression showing that he wasn’t exactly listening to their conversation. “tokito-kun! it’s kyojuro’s birthday, and we’re preparing a surprise party for him,” you explained with a smile, showing that you weren’t annoyed for his forgetfulness. it wasn’t his fault.
“i hope he comes home soon, i’m tired,” sanemi muttered, staring out at the sky. it was getting darker and stars would start to appear soon. “shinazugawa-san, show some respect,” shinobu glanced at him.
you were a bit nervous. hearing them talk actually helped you stay put. you feared kyojuro would be too upset to celebrate, accusing you for being childish or something like that. but kyojuro wasn’t like that, was he?
when you finally heard the door open, you signalled for everyone to stay silent. your heart was beating so fast you feared everyone could hear it clearly. well, tengen certainly could.
“darling! i’m back,” kyojuro announced, his voice less lively than usual. you nervously took a deep breath before replying, “living room!”
after a few moments, you could hear his footsteps getting closer and then he appeared. he just slid the door open when everyone shouted “happy birthday!”, surprising your boyfriend.
“oh… thank you everyone!” he replied, smiling timidly. the tone was the same, but it visibly hid some embarrassment.
mitsuri jumped to her feet and ran to him, hugging him. “i’m so sorry, rengoku-san! i tried my best to ignore you but i feel so bad now!” she confessed, making the others chuckle. “no problem, kanroji-san. i guess it was worth it, yeah?” kyojuro glanced at you, smiling.
once mitsuri let him go, you walked closer and timidly kissed his lips before whispering a little ‘sorry’. he caressed your cheek before glancing more closely to the others. they were all here, to celebrate his birthday. finally, his chest felt lighter and he was relieved.
“i’m glad you are all here!” he flashed them a smile before looking at you once again, his eyes were shining. “thank you, darling,” he kissed your forehead before you felt your cheeks heating up.
ignoring kyojuro for the whole day t was a challenge for you too, but as he said, it was worth it.

about me: a writeblr re-re-re-introduction
Hello! My old pinned post is officially over a year old and makes me cringe whenever I'm on my blog, so it's time to freshen things up again!
me
I'm Teri, I'm smack dab in the middle of my 20s and figuring out life. My writing is pretty exclusively original stuff, a lot of novels and a lot of fantasy, but I play around with various genres in short stories. Sort of a jack-of-all-trades in regards to hobbies - aside from writing, there's anything from baking to drawing with my ancient art tablet to cross-stitch to playing music to rambling around the patch of woods near my house to watching long-form D&D let's plays.
my goals
I recognize that every time I post something like this, it's with the intention of finally becoming as active on writeblr as I was during the pandemic. I also recognize I've never quite managed that.
So here are some more general goals to get me through 2024:
Finish my 2nd draft of Beyond Alder Creek
Write as cringey and brutally honest as I never allowed myself to as a teenager.
Speaking of, a large reading/writing goal of mine is to go back through every NaNo draft I've ever written (I've participated since 2011). So aside from just reading that and likely turning it into a whole spectacle on here for people's amusement, generally just survive reading through the writing from 8th grade. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks lol
Finally, I have a general goal every year of reaching 100K words, between writing and editing and the like, but I'd happily be a little looser with that goal if it meant getting through others.
And now, without further ado:
my writing
Before I get specifically into WIPs, a general overview of the kind of writing you can expect from me:
As I said, I'm a fantasy nerd. I love worldbuilding, both on a large scale (nations and cultures and political relationships) and a small scale (a magic shop in an otherwise contemporary setting).
There's not a lot of romance in my writing, but there Are a lot of transformational relationships and codependency. Friendships, siblings, guardians, general ride-or-dies.
Thought experiments. I've been trying to catch and indulge more in my 'wait, what if?' ideas. Sometimes, that's fun little snippets of silly ideas, sometimes it's a majorly emotionally heavy scene for a story I'll never write. Sometimes, it's coming up with ideas to 'combine genres'. It's all about expanding the range.
wips*
Beyond Alder Creek /// draft 2 /// tag: bac
Winnie Pewitt has never believed in the fae. That is, until her little brother disappears, and she stumbles upon a faerie ring on the edge of town. Inside, a man seemingly carved from gold suggests that he knows who took the boy. With everyone else around their hometown accepting her brother's fate as certainty, Winnie takes it upon herself to craft the perfect deal and enter the realm of the fae with her new companion in tow.
The Lies in the Legend /// draft 1 /// tag: litl
The fictional autobiography of an elven noblewoman who rose rapidly in station and influence from an unremarkable youth to a diplomatic powerhouse. Spanning centuries during the prime of her life, Lady Ghislaine Agassi charts the course of her career and reputation, and highlights the dangers of making myths out of our idols.
*Though these are my primary WIPs, I have a page that covers various other WIPs and projects that I've brought up over the past few years.
I think that about covers everything! As always, I can't make any promises about how the year will wind up and where it takes us. But I will say, I've actually been writing recently, and yk I'm just gonna ride that high.
And for fun, here's some random facts about me:
fun facts
I have degrees in psychology and music!
I've lived across three continents, but currently live in upstate New York for whatever reason lol
The animals I've ridden on the back of include: horse, pony, elephant, and ostrich. The horse was my least favorite. By far.
I got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a couple months after Covid landed stateside (in May 2020) and am Always ready to talk someone's ear off about it.
The first story I ever wrote was on PowerPoint and was about war breaking out between humans and aliens that had taken refuge on Earth after their planet was destroyed. I was 8. There was a Lot of Clipart involved.
I've never been published, but I once secretly planned out, wrote, edited, and self-printed a couple copies of a novel about my best friends and our college apartment. They received it for Christmas last year and loved it (or at least were kind enough to tell me they did)!

may or may not have stayed up all night reading this book as soon as I could get my hands on it but anyway I have some thoughts and most of them are screaming.
I really loved the book. Did it have flaws? Yes. Do I care? No. I'm 22, the targeted age range is something like 10-16. When I first got into this series I was the same age as nico. It's been a long journey getting older and changing and healing. Seeing that for Nico was all I really wanted from this book.
Also, realistic relationship struggles and growth!! Loved that!! Having a chronic illness is hard, your partner watching you suffer with it is also hard for them!! Having conversations and misunderstandings and awkward moments is how it goes!! After being in a 3 year relationship with someone I love very much I'm like,,, yes!! Thank you!! I have lifelong chronic illness!! It's not going away I gotta learn to live with it it's a part of me!! My partner struggles with it but is trying so hard and I love them so much!!! But I'm so much more than a pile of suffering and that's the point!!! You choose to keep trying and that's the point the book makes!! there's a whole scene about it and it's so important!!! Will starts to be more accepting and understanding and we love to see it! Nico accepts he needs to let himself move on and that it's ok to do that and not be angry with your past self for trying to stay alive!!
I make no sense and I don't care. But also, they're cringey and memey and dumb. They're hysterical and going a little bit crazy and they love each other and like, I'm not ok. Neither are they. Its been an extremely stressful week for them.
And I don't think it's super out of character because we barely know these people!! Nico has been suffering and in survival mode almost the whole time we have known him!! Will has been a background character most of the time!! Nico was a bubbly 10 year old and Will was like 4 sentences. Nico has made occasional/awkward/dark jokes and Will was shown to be stubborn and concerned and caring because demigods are ridiculously hard to keep alive. Let them be weird and cringey they're literal teenagers. Have you been in a high school with people obnoxiously dating. They are. The worst.
Broke: camp is empty because people wanna see their families
Woke: camp is empty because will and nico are just that couple who are cringe 100% of the time and everyone just noped out
I know I keep getting sidetracked but. Point is. nico and will seem out of character because of circumstances and time skips probably. Nicos finally in a stable place and can actually process things, mans is curious about the world he's in no wonder he's a memelord the internet just does that to you. People change when they're not in survival mode, I definitely am not the same person I was when I was 16. Not even the same person I was when I was 18. Or 20. Like, mental health glow ups bring out some of the best parts of you.
AND THANK YOU PIPER I FEEL SO SEEN RN, don't know what label I fit under, I am confusion but it's ok!! I am a big ole ace spectrum mess and maybe tomorrow it'll be different! Either way the book had a lot of great moments and no it's not the same as old rr books but it was never gonna be, the nostalgia associated with the original pjo series means nothing will ever live up to those books and that's kind of just life for some of yall. fuck knows I crave the joy I felt playing crash bandicoot for the first time. I miss that time of my life and it's ok to miss that but it's also ok to move forward and find new things that bring life joy and meaning!!
anyway. I enjoyed the sun and the star and I will continue to enjoy it regardless of what other people think, I can like things just because I do, or just because they make me happy. And this book definitely made me happy. Also holy fuck I need some sleep. Sorry about all the exclamation points it's all that's keeping me awake!!

So, spoilers for Fullmetal Alchemist but-
I'm watching fmab and the discovery that Selim Bradley is a humunculous is so funny to me. Like, him and King Bradley are technically siblings. That whole scene of Selim reading his cringey school essay at the dinner table is solely an act for Mrs.Bradley. Do you think they ever just interact like-
King Bradley: Good work at school today, my wonderful son! You are such a clever and well behaved human child!
Selim: Thanks Papa! Anything to make you and Mom proud!
King Bradley: Oh ho ho!
Mrs Bradley: Oh you two are just so sweet, what a lovely and normal family I have! Good night dears. *leaves*
King Bradley and Selim: *evil snickering*

Movie Love {Horrorpedia x GN!Reader}
Horrorpedia and {Name} end up getting closer over a movie marathon 🫀
Genre; Romantic or Platonic
Pronouns; GN, but uses You, yours, ect.
______________________________________________
Having an eccentric horrorpedian as your best friend was honestly a great thing in most cases. Weekends filled with movies and rambling over mysteries, horror tropes, cliche characters, and more. It was a normal occurrence to stay at Horrorpedia, or as you know him, Joshua's house over the weekends.
And currently this weekend, you were over at his place having a scream marathon. Joshua had managed to get the full scream movie collection on VHS and invited you over to have a marathon. Obviously you said of course, since the two of you had seen the first scream movie together and now would watch the full set.
You waited in Joshua's kitchen waiting for the popcorn to finally get done, pulling out a bowl with a frankenstein print on it. As you waited, Joshua came up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist, causing you to jump. As you turned, you couldn't help but let out a yelp as you were face to face with a ghost face mask. "Josh! Dude- not funny." You deadpanned as Joshua laughed. "Sorry, Sorry. Couldn't help it." Joshua said as he pulled the mask off, placing it on the counter. "Almost ready?" Joshua looks over at you, then the microwave. Thirty seconds left on the timer. "almost. Got the VHS player set up?" You asked, placing the bowl near the microwave to easily transport the popcorn from the microwave to the bowl.
"Yup. I also got you an energy drink to help you stay up." Joshua says, leaning against the counter. "Thanks." You said with a smile as you finally got the popcorn into the bowl. "C'mon c'mon let's go!" Joshua went to pull you along into the living room of his apartment, it was a bit crowded, gadgets, CDs, and random tools were scattered around near the green armchair. Joshua sat down, pulling over the smaller plush footrest for you to sit on. As you did, Joshua pat his lap, and you laid your head in his lap.
"comfy?" He asks and you nod with a smile. "Good, cause there's no moving for the next seven hours." Joshua teases. You roll your eyes as you adjust yourself a bit. Joshua starts the first movie and dims the lights...
A bit later a scene between Billy and Sydney comes on and Joshua grimaces "I always hate when they throw useless romantic tension in the movies. Like...lets not suck faces while there's a murderer around." Joshua laughs a bit. You laugh a bit as well. "mushy stuff helps the audience kinda feel a sense of comfort during the whole scary essence..but I get your point. It's a bit cringey." You say, head still in Joshua's lap.
"True, but still they could make it seem more real. It's kinda cliche with the whole 'Main girl and her boyfriend who turns out to be the killer'. I mean." Joshua said with a small grimace at the current scene. "I guess, but if you had to write it, what would you have it be?" You ask Joshua. You already know the answer, but you'd rather hear it from him. "Two close friends, as the killer picks off everyone one by one they stay close and when the other gets injured by the killer, the main character gets them to safety before facing off the killer in an act of revenge. Now THAT would be a good romance in horror." Joshua rants.
You smile. "So, if I faced off a killer for you would that be our development?" You ask with a cheeky smile. Joshua rolls his eyes. "If anything you'd be the one injured. But I could see us developing like that. I already adore you, so why not." Joshua smiles, running a hand through your hair. You grabbed his hand, holding it. "I adore you too. My horrorpedia."
~End~

CHAPTER 1
bnha masterlist
pairing: tomura shigaraki x fem reader
summary: Stranded in another world that eerily follows the plot of your favourite manga, you find yourself sucked into the story, trapped on the side of the villains. You're just a girl who knows too much and wants to go home, but with Tomura Shigaraki watching you, escape won't be easy.
notes: I know this is a kinda cringey premise but I've had this idea trapped in my head for months and I love shigaraki so here.
chapter contains: attempted sexual assault (not shigaraki), canon typical violence
——————————————————————————————————
Shigaraki
Tomura was in a bad mood.
This whole business with the Hero Killer had really pissed him off. Made worse by the fact that the media was still looping his arrest footage, his oh so tragic backstory. Every convenience store and outlet on the way back from the mall was running it.
But what about his Nomu? They’d terrorized Hosu. They should be on the front page. He’d attacked the USJ. His master had promised that the world would learn to fear him. This was bullshit. Fucking Stain .
Tomura ducked his head low beneath the dark shadow of his hood, keeping to the alleys and deserted side streets on his way back to the bar. The sun was dipping below the horizon, night rising, but it was still best to be careful. After all, he’d just held that Midoriya kid hostage at the mall and there were bound to be heroes looking for him by now. They could look all they liked, with Father in his pocket instead of on his face, he’d be unrecognizable. Unlike Stain, his face wasn’t being blasted on TVs across Japan.
At least that little mall trip had helped. Tomura was still pissed, but now he had some clarity, something to work for. Killing All Might and forcing this rotten society to question just how secure its sense of peace and justice was. Yeah , he liked the sound of that.
He grinned and kicked a can down the street. It clanked against the pavement in a hollow roll, but its tin-rattle was quickly drowned out by the voices Tomura heard in the next lane over.
He slipped around the corner and raised a brow at the scene before him.
There was a woman on the ground in a pile of rubbish and a blanket, looking wide-eyed up at two guys standing above her. She looked like shit, but that didn’t seem to phase the men. They were practically licking their lips as they leered down at her ragged figure. Gross .
Tomura thought he might have seen them around before, they were pretty generic looking; just two NPCs playing at being villains. Clearly low level. The taller one had no obvious quirk, and his hair stuck up in pineapple spikes, sleeve tattoos plastered to his skin. The shorter one, who was now grabbing the woman roughly by her shirt and yanking her up, had massive radio-dish ears – a hearing quirk of some sort. Potentially useful.
“Pretty stupid of you to be sleeping out here where anyone could grab ya!” said Radio-Head.
The woman leaned as far back as she could. “Let me go!” she said, in English.
Tomura raised his other brow. He could understand English well enough, though he was better at reading than speaking. His master had wanted him prepared to make allies with whomever it took, Japanese or foreigner. Still, it was jarring to hear her English against the familiar Japanese of the two men who had her.
“Foreigner?” said Pineapple-Head. “No way. This is great!”
“Yeah, means she won’t go to the heroes. They’d never believe her!” Radio-Head yanked her close and she yelped, kicking out at his knees only to be pressed against the rough brick of the alley wall. “Isn’t that right lovely?”
“Fuck off! Let me go!” she said, again in English. She bit Radio-Head's fingers when he tried to press a palm over her mouth.
He jumped back and Pineapple-Head pinned her arms instead. “You good?” he asked.
“Fucking bitch bit me!”
Tomura had had enough of watching this cutscene like some creepy vouyer. He shoved his hands in his pockets, pinkies tucked into his palms, and slipped out of the shadows, heading down the alley toward the bar. The two men startled, caught like misbehaving kids. Pineapple-Head almost jumped out of his tattoos. Radio-Head pulled out a knife and stood in the way. He hid his throbbing fingers. Tomura smirked. Heh . The woman was clearly pretty stupid if she let herself be caught sleeping out here, but at least she wasn’t just rolling over for these losers. Even now, she was trying to wriggle free as the men glared Tomura down like he was a threat, a bigger dog who might wrench away their bone.
“Fuck are you doing here?” Radio-Head said. “Can’t you see this alley’s taken?
“Yeah, piss off man!” said Pineapple-Head in the lamest gangster voice ever.
Tomura scowled. Who the hell were these bastards to tell him to leave? Did they have any idea who they were dealing with?
The woman called out this time. “Help!” she said and strained towards him.
Tomura’s scowl only deepened. What, did she think he was her hero or something? This was her own mess. He needed to get back to the bar before Kurogiri bugged him. Plus, he had those new recruits to deal with – the crazy girl and the ugly guy with patchwork scars.
“Get going before I make you!” said Radio-Head, brandishing his knife. It gleamed white in the rising moonlight. The bastard was all confidence as he barrelled closer.
Tomura didn’t like that. Didn’t appreciate being threatened .
He huffed. “You really think you could make me leave?” And he took a step forward, fingers itching in his hoodie, the weight of Father suddenly heavier. He was just going to leave; this woman wasn’t his problem. But these cocky assholes were just begging to be destroyed.
And besides, he was still in a bad mood .
Pineapple-Head was starting to move his palms toward the woman’s chest when Radio-Head lurched forward. The knife swiped in an ungraceful arch, missing Tomura almost comically. Off balance, Radio-Head fell forward, caught only by four fingers.
“You know, you really should be more careful with that thing.” The knife clattered against the ground as Tomura pressed a fifth finger down. “Somebody might get hurt .”
Radio-Head couldn’t even scream as his body turned to ash.
“What the fuck?!” Pineapple-Head, finally catching on, forgot the woman and dashed for Tomura. He had no weapons, but he extended a palm and blinding light spewed out in an arrow. An emitter quirk, then.
Tomura ducked it but had to squint as he reached out and held Pineapple-Head's face in his palm. The creep struggled and gasped, a fish on the chopping block, as veins of decay spread over his skin. He didn’t turn straight to dust, but rather, fell to the floor in chunks. His blood ran in lines through the grooves of the pavement.
Tomura grinned. The thrill of destruction coursed through him, had his heart pounding. He’d killed them. The incessant itch that had bothered him since the Stain incident dissipated just a bit and he breathed deeply. Damn that felt good.
“You killed them.”
Oh, right. He forgot about her.
The woman had cowered back in her nest of squalor, palms pressed flat to the ground, back against the wall, eyes rimmed with the glass of coming tears. She cast her gaze between her villainous saviour and the two dead piles of men.
“Yeah, I did,” Tomura said in English. He grinned wider and stepped toward her. One more kill couldn’t hurt. Besides, this woman had seen his face. Seen him kill. It’s not like he could let her live.
But as he approached, fingers poised to kill, she suddenly stood up. “Thank you!” she said. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” She whispered it to herself, over and over, lowering her head in relief.
Tomura hesitated. His movements stuttered. Was she seriously thanking him right now?
She looked up at him, and there was something sickly about her that made Tomura almost feel sorry for her. A pallidness, a darkness. An otherness. She looked like she'd been sleeping in this alley for a while. She looked pathetic.
Tomura pursed his lips and shook his hood back on. “Whatever,” he said in Japanese. He walked away, reaching for Father, for the sick comfort of the hand over his face. He really should kill her. He headed back toward the bar.
“Wait!” Footsteps.
Tomura ignored her, feeling an itch creep up his neck. The woman jogged up beside him, following.
“Hey, please!”
He could feel her looking at him as she struggled to keep pace. Would she just piss off already before he changed his mind? He didn’t have time for this side quest. “Go away.”
“I need help.”
The itch grew worse. “Do I look like a hero to you?” Tomura hissed.
She stepped in front of him. "Please. Can you-" she paused, looked up at the hand on his face. Recognition lighted her eyes. She backed away. "Oh, you're..."
Her back was against the alley wall in a second, Tomura’s four fingered grip around her throat. He squeezed hard. He itched harder. This was more like it, the fear in her eyes, not that sappy gratefulness. Finally, someone who knew who he was.
He bared his teeth, scarred skin pulling tight. "Oh, you recognise me? That's nice."
The woman couldn't even speak.
“I did tell you to piss off,” he mumbled in Japanese, a little lightness entering his voice, a little laughter. He reached up and scratched, nails dragging coarse red lines over his neck. So itchy. “I'm glad to be noticed," he switched back to English, "but can't have you running to tell the heroes where I am, so...”
He pressed his fifth finger down.
And nothing happened.
No relief, no thrill, no death. The woman stared down at him, her pulse rapid in her throat. She didn’t decay. Tomura pressed in harder, as though he could tear into her flesh and turn her to dust. But she just wheezed. His quirk had no effect on her.
His bloodshot eyes went wide. Why the hell wasn’t she dying ?
“ Please ,” she said. "Don't."
Tomura sucked in a harsh breath; his eyes slitted into vicious papercuts. It must be her quirk. Some sort of immunity, like Eraserhead. He was touching her, skin to skin, hand on neck, and she wasn’t dead.
“What’s your quirk?” he demanded.
The woman grimaced, tugging at his hand. “Quirk?”
“Yeah. Tell me.” Tomura leaned closer, breath on her face. He needed to know. He needed...
But no amount of closeness could have prepared him for her response.
She took a weak breath and shook her head. “I don't have a quirk...”
Before Tomura could even understand what she meant, her eyes slipped closed and her head lulled into strangled unconsciousness.

Gonna out myself here,
I really love sword art online as a series. I understand most people hate the series and think it’s trash and that’s… understandable. The anime wasn’t handled well AT ALL. The music? Amazing. 10/10. Could not have done it better. The show itself? Ehhhh… I think it’s the fact that it goes in chronological order rather than the order of the original novels which spoiled a lot of surprises with the added fact of a lot of scenes being cut from the show’s adaptation of the novels. Also probably the fact that people think that it’s a harem anime?? Absolutely it isn’t. It’s easy to make that assumption with the anime being… what it is but it’s pretty clear in the novels that 100% it is Not.
SAO was one of the first series that openly went into darker themes for me and I loved the characterization. I really enjoyed the anime the first time I watched it and looking back, yeah, it’s very cringey. But as I dived a little deeper into the fandom and started reading the novels? Honestly? So much better. The anime had a lot left to be desired but the novels were phenomenal because they explained a lot of things and generally gave better insight as to what the characters were thinking/going through. I’d love to talk about the series more but the fandom is rather small unfortunately. Especially I’d love to talk about the whole of alicization/war of the underworld because it’s really interesting from the emotional side of all the characters. The plot has some things left to be desired but I really loved the focus on emotions and mental health. I think definitely one of the things I found most interesting was the character of Eugeo and his whole fate. Kirito and Eugeo’s relationship seemed so much more… intimate than any others’ and looking back (and even back then to an extent) there was no way they weren’t painfully in love with each other. I wish there was more fanfiction about them and eugeo possibly meeting Asuna. Because I’d love to see the interactions of the two people kirito loved most and possibly more? Idk he gave me brain rot before I knew what brain rot was.
Maybe I should have known I’d get into bl considering how much I liked their relationship….

cobra kai s5 rant
- thoroughly enjoyed this season, i thought it was funny, not as cringey as previous seasons and the fight scenes were so so good. however, there were a few things that really annoyed me or made me question why i have a netflix account. here they are:
pregnancy storyline - when i tell you this plot annoyed the fuck outta me, i mean it. as soon as carmen said ‘i’m late johnny’ i was like oh for fuck sake and i had to pause the tv and resist the urge to smack my head off a wall. it’s such an unnecessary storyline and it aggravated me every time it was mentioned throughout the rest of the season. like, come on writers, could you be any more predictable? and don’t get me wrong, i think babies are cute n stuff, but throwing a baby into a book or a show just ruins it for me. also, johnny runs from all of his problems so who’s to say he won’t do the same when things get challenging with his new baby?
robby - i love love love robby, but the way he gets treated is not it. whilst johnny is funny i’ve come to the realisation that he is a really shitty person. he only acknowledges his own feelings and doesn’t care about anyone else’s - especially robby’s. and robby’s reaction to the pregnancy threw me off guard. he was happy??? he deserves to be angry about it, hell i would be. his dad literally neglected him his whole life and is now having a baby with miguel’s mum? i’d be more than pissed. robby needs a hug and i volunteer to give him one, he deserves the world <3
carmen and johnny - carmen really pissed me off this season idk why, she just did. like babe, how are you gonna have a child with a man who still acts like one😭😭😭 and johnny annoyed me too, he literally prioritised everything over robby. and then when he forced robby and miguel to fight out their issues as if those issues didn’t literally stem from him being a better father figure to miguel than he was an actual father to robby (i am glad they’re all good now tho).
silver - even just his face annoys me, had to hold myself back from punching the tv every time he had a scene. he’s a good villain though.
kenny and kyler - oh my god. i physically recoil anytime kyler has a scene, he’s so cringe it’s actually painful to watch. kenny also annoyed me as well, like bro i think you’ve messed with anthony enough, leave him alone now. and then when he tried intimidating robby and miguel, like honey know your place x
sam - now sam annoys me every season, i reallyyy want to like her but i just can’t. this season however, she did annoy me significantly less than usual. although she did make miguel’s circumstances in mexico about her which was very irritating and then had the audacity to get mad at miguel when he kissed another girl after she’d broken up with him???
okay, rant over. i’m sure there’s more that annoyed me but i can’t remember at the moment. so apart from the pregnancy storyline that it is so stupid, pointless, basic, predictable, annoying, ew and the characters mentioned above (except robby i love him, just the way he was treated annoyed me), the season was really good.
to clarify, i am not hating on the actors at all, i think they all do a brilliant job, this is just my opinion on the characters and storylines which are both entirely fictional :)
times the word annoyed/annoys was used in this rant = 9

When I was in school, there seem to be a camp of two types of girls when it came to literary choices. You had the Twilight/vampire romance girlies and the Hunger Games/dystopian gals, and you would have thought these two groups were the two families from Romeo and Juliet. Yours truly was part of the Hunger Games camp, and middle-school me was obsessed. I’m talking book and movie premieres, Team Peeta shirts from Hot Topic, wearing a mocking jay pin publicly, the whole gambit. God forbid if you read Twilight, that poorly written, low-brow, dumb, vampire romance. We were the readers of dystopian fiction, which was superior because it made you FEEL things about capitalism, broken societies, being true to yourself, etc. etc. etc.
It’s been over a decade since 2008. To all my Twilight girlies, I would like to offer you my most sincere apologies. I should not have judged you so harshly.
Recently I watched Twilight for the very first time as an adult. A friend of mine came over for a painting/movie night, and Twilight was our featured film. I knew the memes, I knew roughly what the plot was, but I wasn’t ready for the experience that was to come.
So without further ado, I’d like to offer my thoughts and review on the 2008 masterpiece, Twilight. If you aren’t familiar with the Twilight story, go read a quick synopsis and then come back.
🌘So, did you like it?
I had an absolute blast watching this movie. Would I say it’s a good movie? Probably not. Did it age well? Nope. But it was delightfully cringey, as you had to suspend all believe of realism. You couldn’t take this movie too seriously, because this movie took ITSELF way too seriously. It’s like they cranked the drama/teen angst meter up to 100 and everything seems so life-or-death…even though the main characters, Bella and Edward, are 17 year old juniors (ok so Edward actually isn’t 17 because he’s an old vampire but you get what I’m saying). It was very much that kind of relationship where “they can’t even bear to be apart or they will DIE” oh no how tragic (I think we now call that co-dependency).
When I was 17, I sure as heck didn’t know what love was. But again, this story is based in absolute fantasy, not realism, and that’s the fun part. Oh to be swept off your feet by a mysterious, handsome, brooding vampire that you met in your biology class!
🌓Favorite part of the film?
The script for this movie is pretty bad, I’m not gonna lie, and that’s part of the charm. It’s so bad, that it’s kinda good. Here’s some of my favorite quotes:
“You better hold on tight, spider monkey." -Edward to Bella because he can jump really high and run really fast. I about peed my pants from laughing when Edward said this.
“This is the skin of a killer, Bella." -Edward to Bella because vampire skin *literally sparkles* in direct sunlight. Again, almost peed my pants.
I will say that I love Edward’s family, the Cullens, as a whole. This vampire family tries to cook a regular meal for Bella, Edward’s human girlfriend, and oh my heart. Vampires don’t cook because they don’t eat normal food; the Cullen family had never used the kitchen in their house. The fact that they would go out of their way and attempt to do something so foreign to them in order to make the human girlfriend feel comfortable? Um, wow that’s actually really sweet.
Also, shout out to Bella‘s dad, Charlie for actually trying to connect with his daughter. Bella and Charlie have a bit of an awkward and tense relationship but this doesn’t stop Charlie from trying to be a good dad. I will say that one of my other favorite scenes was when Bella asked her dad if he wanted to meet her boyfriend Edward… while he was cleaning his shotgun. When he said, “sure, send (your boyfriend) in” and loudly snapped his shotgun shut, I about lost it. What a dad move! A national treasure.
🌒Would you watch it again?
Under the right circumstances. I would need either anesthesia or a large sangria. If I ever showed this film to my children, it would be for a study of what not to do in a relationship. If your significant other says “I can’t live without you” when you’re 17…that’s some big creepy co-decency energy.
🌑Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Um Team Charlie all the way. Hands down the best and most sane character in this whole film. We love to see a dad do his best and love his daughter…even when she starts dating a super weird pale dude.
🌘Conclusion
Watching this film made me think about guilty pleasures. We all have them, and they all look different at unique stages of our life. One of my favorite guilty pleasures is watching Judge Judy. My 70 year-old grandmother used to watch the Bachelor. For a friend of mine, it’s those cheesy Hallmark Channel movies. Others enjoy vampire romance novels. Are these things high-quality and sophisticated? No. Are they of good taste? Meh. But they are meant to be enjoyed, and that’s the whole point.
Twilight is the same way. Is it good? Not really. But that doesn’t matter, because it’s a cringey/angsty teen fantasy that’s meant to be enjoyed.
You can be both a Twilight girlie and a Hunger Games gal, and still have a pretty darn good time 🖤

I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to writing my fics. My mindset is like: "either it's perfect or bad". So... How can I avoid this?
Well, aside from watching this video of mine, I think it also helps to remember that imperfections in fanfiction often add to the charm. Like I love when I read an author's story or work and I can see how they improved overtime. It's comforting and inspiring!
I think it's also worth interrogating why your mindset is "It's either perfect or it's bad." Like, is this a standard you only apply to your own stories? Or do you think that any story you enjoy is perfect and has zero faults? Because in the latter case, that's a sign that maybe you need to think about and analyse your favourite stories more, since there's no such thing as a perfect story, and when you realise that even your favourite stories aren't perfect, it's easier to believe that your stories don't have to be perfect either.
And if you already do see the imperfections in the stories you enjoy, then I want you to come up with an actual, logical, backed-up-by-compelling-arguments reason why only your work has to be perfect to be good. And even if you come up with a reason that sounds compelling to you, it also needs to convince someone else. Hell, convince me why you and only you are somehow the only writer in the world who isn't allowed to be anything less than perfect. (And on top of that, perfect to who, exactly? Because what is perfect to one person is trashy to another, and that's okay.)
If that sounds like an impossible task, that's because it is. It's meant to show you just how impossible perfection is, and how even the best fanfics are never, ever the result of perfection. (And also anything that strives for "perfection" ends up sanding down its most interesting parts and becomes boring anyway, so please please give me the "imperfect" stories that have heart and soul and everything earnest in them over anything that strives to be as "perfect" for the largest crowd possible.)
Also, another thought I just had, but what does "perfect" even mean to you? Does it mean the best story ever written, or a story that is impervious to any and all potential criticism? Because those are two different things. In the latter case, why should one potential criticism mean that your story is automatically bad? Why should "This line of dialogue is so cringey" mean that suddenly all the dialogue is cringey, or the plot is falling apart at the seams, or you characters have all the personality of cardboard, or your worldbuilding has the depth of a puddle? Like why does one imperfection suddenly make the whole story "bad"? Explain to me how that makes sense. (Rhetorical question.)
I am well aware of the imperfections in my own fanfics, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm also immensely proud of how well I've developed my characters and relationships, how charming my banter is, how some of my prose flows, how hard I've worked to execute my fight scenes, etc. I've also gotten some hate/unsolicited concrit comments that have ruined my day and spent more time on than I should have, but I love what I do more than I fear/hate criticism, and I think that's why I haven't stopped. You're allowed to be scared of/angry about those things, even just as much as you are now, but you have to love writing even more!
Well, this got a bit more tough love than expected, but I hope it helps!
