Personal note: the fic I loved so much I decided to make a ficlet of it. No serious, I love this one a lot.

Leonardo gets transported to Bayverse after a lab mishap with Donnie. Emotions ensue.

Leonardo gets hit with a curse that doesn't allow him to sleep. With sleep deprivation getting to him with each passing day, his family desperately searches for a fix.

Personal note: I unfortunately know from personal experience this fic is very accurate to bad sleep deprivation. Not to the extent in the fic, but damn I've stayed up.

After the events of the Kraang, Leonardo starts to "hallucinate" other versions of himself, guiding him on leadership. AKA, 2k12!Leo and Future!Rise Leo work through very Leo issues with Rise Leo. Oh BTW, it turns into a musical by the midpoint. Do not be fooled, there's still ouch.

Warning: Disability erasure of a canonically disabled character in the final chapter. Something that I, as a disabled reader, care deeply about and have felt really genuinely hurt by in a fic I liked everything else about. Please remember to educate and not harass the author about this if you wish to call it out (note that I have -spoilers contained- commented about it already).

Now Bdubs doesn’t mind storms. Sure, they’re loud and annoying, sometimes starting fires and several times changing neutral mods into hostile mobs and already hostile mobs into even bigger threats, but honestly it’s fine, especially when he has a sleepy Tango wrapped around him.

This being said, he can’t help but notice how the netherborne tends to either curl in more and more in the dryad’s back or even occasionally whimper every time thunder claps above them.

Bdubs' brain takes a moment to actually slot the information together, slowly coming to a conclusion.

"Tango, are you scared?"

The netherborne stiffens, hiding his face in his boyfriend's shoulder like he wants to disappear.

"It's okay if you are, I don't really like thunderstorms either."

Tango shifts, attempting to pull away, but Bdubs turns around where he rests to lazily cup his cheek.

"It's fine, I promise."

"Still kinda embarrassing though, right?" Tango says shyly, crimson eyes looking everywhere but Bdubs.

His brows knit together as he strokes a thumb over Tango's cheek. "It's more normal than you think."

Tango opens his mouth to reply, but another loud crack comes from outside and causes the netherborne to flinch and bring his hands over his ears.

Before Bdubs really knows what he's doing, Tango is dragged towards his chest with an ear pressed against him as he lightly hushes his boyfriend.

"I don't like it, Bdubs. It isn't- it isn't just loud." Tango says as he burrows into his partner. "What if- what if there's, I don't know- a really bad storm? Like a tornado? Those happen in the Overworld, right?"

"That- yes, but-" He regrets his words, watching as Tango shrinks in on himself more. "No, no I mean yes but also no! Yes, in the Overworld, but not here. Not on Hermitcraft."

His partner nods his head slowly as he looks away, shame in his eyes. "I know, I know, it's just that…"

"You've lived here for a decade and you're still afraid, I get that. I don't blame you for it.”

Slowly, Tango nods as he continues to not look at Bdubs.

Again, he moves how they're both laying until their chests are pressed against eachother, a half-asleep kiss falling onto Tango's nose then forehead. And he can feel his partner, even if just the smallest bit, relax into the soft touches.

Even before watching the series in its (current) entirety (having discovered its existence through a video in my YouTube recommendations on one Thursday night for Matchablossom and being instantly intrigued, watching it all on the Saturday evening directly after), I had this idea for a Matchablossom angst-fic where Cherry has cancer and they (‘they’ mostly meaning Kojiro) have to cope through it. Haven’t written or planned it out, but stay tuned because I might actually do it.

Moonbound: One Year Since Artemis I

On this day last year, the Artemis I rocket and spacecraft lit up the sky and embarked on the revolutionary mission to the Moon and back. The first integrated flight test of the rocket and spacecraft continued for 25.5 days, validating NASA’s deep exploration systems and setting the stage for humanity’s return to the lunar surface.

On Nov. 16, 2022, the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket met or exceeded all expectations during its debut launch on Artemis I. The twin solid rocket booster motors responsible for producing more than 7 million pounds of thrust at liftoff reached their performance target, helping SLS and the Orion spacecraft reach a speed of about 4,000 mph in just over two minutes before the boosters separated.

Quite a few payloads caught a ride aboard the Orion spacecraft on the Artemis I mission: In addition to a number of small scientific satellites called CubeSats, a manikin named Commander Moonikin Campos sat in the commander’s seat. A Snoopy doll served as a zero-gravity indicator — something that floats inside the spacecraft to demonstrate microgravity. 

During the mission, Orion performed two lunar flybys, coming within 80 miles of the lunar surface. At its farthest distance during the mission, Orion traveled nearly 270,000 miles from our home planet, more than 1,000 times farther than where the International Space Station orbits Earth. This surpassed the record for distance traveled by a spacecraft designed to carry humans, previously set during Apollo 13.

The Orion spacecraft arrived back home to planet Earth on Dec. 11, 2022. During re-entry, Orion endured temperatures about half as hot as the surface of the Sun at about 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Within about 20 minutes, Orion slowed from nearly 25,000 mph to about 20 mph for its parachute-assisted splashdown. 

Recovery teams successfully retrieved the spacecraft and delivered it back to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center for de-servicing operations, which included removing the payloads (like Snoopy and Commander Moonikin Campos) and analyzing the heat shield.  

With the Artemis I mission under our belt, we look ahead to Artemis II — our first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years. Four astronauts will fly around the Moon inside Orion, practicing piloting the spacecraft and validating the spacecraft’s life support systems. The Artemis II crew includes: NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen. 

As we look ahead to Artemis II, we build upon the incredible success of the Artemis I mission and recognize the hard work and achievements of the entire Artemis team. Go Artemis!
