I've seen that "the immortal loses their loved one but not their loved one's family; what if the immortal stayed close, followed them down the generations?" post a dozen times, and I understand it's intended to be sweet---but every single time I see it, all I can think is that it's straight-up the beginning of a horror story.

starting off 2025 with boscage sonic (aka scruffy)

random notes about him:

- he’s sonic’s protectiveness (especially towards tails), stubbornness, and love of nature. he’s the big brother, the protector. scruffy is much more serious than sonic is, muzzle basically curved in a permanent frown

- speaking of sonic, his ass hates that mf. not only does this small, spiky guy look like him, he’s also getting a little too close to mangey for scruffy’s liking AND he hurt thorn. if he went after thorn, who’s to say he won’t go after his cub at some point? i also just really like the idea that the different versions of sonic don’t like him because of how quickly he latches onto their versions of tails

- he can talk, he just actively chooses not to unless it’s 100% necessary. he usually just huffs and grunts at people

- he and mangey are separated when sonic goes to the maze. scruffy is in the forest with thorn and birdie

- thorn is his best friend. when the ache in his heart is too much, he goes to her for comfort. he understands that mangey is a scavenger, but he doesn’t like it. he doesn’t like it at all

now for the random lore dump beneath the cut!

scruffy was on the same boat as thorn when it came to the soon-to-be-called scavengers taking the forest’s resources (except for mangey who was doing nothing wrong in his eyes of course). When the time came, he helped the hedgehog drive the scavengers away, only stopping when he noticed mangey was also running from him. He saw the fear in the kit’s eyes has he scrambled up to the treetops with the others and immediately regretted his decision, even if thorn was telling him it was for the better; that mangey chose to go with the scavengers.

by the time sonic lands in the boscage maze, scruffy spends most of his time either with thorn and birdie or near the base of the tree he saw mangey leave on. He is convinced that the little fox is terrified of him and hates him (mangey also thinks scruffy hates him and that’s why the beast scared him away. the kit spends a lot of time near the edges of the wooden platforms in the trees, looking for any sign of his big brother through the leaves) but he still hopes for the day the fox descends from the tree and their little family reunites

that’s all i really have for him so far. still need to work out how exactly he’d fit into the overall story. but yeah, my new boy scruffy!!! i love hims!!!

honestly all of them are really bad at enduring the silent treatment/you wanting to be alone after an argument but satoru and megumi are the absolute worst like satoru cannot do it he cannot have you not talking to him he will do anything he will beg he will cry he will grovel he will buy food and presents and a house and a car and sing to you outside of your window and beg and beg and beg, and megumi cannot stand the idea of you going to bed angry at him

I love your Conquest drabbles!! ❤❤❤ They've been giving me absolute life!!! You think Conquest would ever take reader out flying? Because I know if I had a flying alien significant other I'd be asking to go flying all the time.

He absolutely does! I like to imagine that, when you two are at the beach, he takes you up so you can cannonball/dive from a good height. Probably tosses you around like a ball too, catching you right before you hit the water. A tiny, innocent thrill for you both to indulge in.

Or maybe you’re having trouble sleeping, so he takes you for a late night flight, a few dozen feet in the air, floating around with you either on his lap, laying on his chest as he lays back, or just being carried around some other way, the cool night air cooling you down and making you feel free. Stargazing closer to the stars is certainly an experience.

He probably takes you up to touch a cloud at least once, chin on your shoulder as he holds you up in the sky, listening to your amused noises as you keep prodding the cloud. He flies through one when you poke him with your cold, wet hand.

Homelander: -going above and beyond to break into Superbats' universe just to continue the argument because he finally thought of a quip smart enough a year later - AND ANOTHER THING- !

Bat: -instantly obliterates with a blasé comment while smooching on Supes-

That's so in character for him -- viewing Bruce as yet another authority figure to come back to and intimidate. He tried it with Edgar and the others, and even when they were injured or died, they didn't give him much.

I really liked including Bruce's little quip about his broken back after Homelander pointed it out and threatened him with it. He was basically like, good luck, I've already been that low and you're welcome to see if I can come back from it again. That kind of confidence and lack of fear was probably earth-shattering for Homelander.
