i was LITERALLY thinking about jason and the viscera bag yesterday!

anyways, my hc is that the LoA painstakingly put his insides back together (maybe not sewn them back, but them in the right place) before sewing him back up and chucking him in the pit.

I love that I'm not the only one who thinks about Jason Todd and the viscera bag! I guess that head canon works, but I always feel like the fun of the Lazarus Pit is leaning into the magic and even the horror of it. So my personal headcanon is still that it becomes the world's saddest hair ball.

Oh, speaking of sewing him back up, that's another thing I often think about with Jason Todd. If they got him post autopsy, he might have some scars that are fairly simple looking. Because it's easier if they use the whip stitch, which is good for temporary closure but isn't the most leakproof. It's one that the embalmer can easily snip to gain access to the body cavity later. But if the LoA didn't get to him until he'd been sealed up more securely after embalming then he's more than likely been closed up with the baseball stitch. Don't know how useful that detail is outside of making really specific choices for certain fanfics or fan art though.
