I can't get the idea out of my mind of JLD trying to exorcise Danny and in between screeches of pain and screams in ghostspeak, Damian is just liminal enough to understand the being that made his shadow its home was calling him an achingly familiar nickname. And the moment everything clicked into place Damian just throws a batarang at a JLD member (cough Constantine cough) and uses his katana to keep everyone away as he kneels next to the creature, softly wiping off the ink-like tears from its face, "Shhh Akhi, it's alright. I'm here." His voice is gentle and tender in a way none of them ever heard before, even calling the being 'Sirius', hugging it until it finally stopped hissing and shivering in pain.
Damian muses softly, low enough that only those with enhanced hearing could make out the sound of a lullaby in arabic as he rocked the strange being in his arms.
Demon Twins AU prompt
Danny gets stuck as an eldritch shadow creature after his Death because he didn't want to leave his twin. They swore they'd always have each other's backs afterall.
So now he's quiet literally stuck to his twin as his literal shadow. Slowly gaining his strength back.
Meanwhile, the JLD is wondering why some dark spirit has latched itself onto the youngest bat.
(Does Damian know?? Maybe it'd be more angst filled if he didn't, tho
#the lullaby i had in mind is the one from the movie Azur and Asmar#it's french if you don't know it#this lullaby has a grip on me since i was 4#anyway i could make it fit but Damian was thinking#'You stayed with me? All this time?'#Just Dami heartbroken by how much his brother loves him#willing to become whatever he has become just to be able to protect him even after dying#I know you said twins but just imagine if Danny was in fact a bit younger#And Damian already feels so guilty for not being able to save him#and now he discovers that Danny never left him because he couldn't support the thought of Dami not having anyone to watch his back#and even after joining the Batfam he couldn't get himself to leave him even if he actually has backup now#dpxdc#danny phantom#dc x dp#dp x dc prompt#also Damian calls him Sirius because it's the brightest star of the nightsky#and Danny is the brightest star in Damian's heart and soul

ask for infodump about Chernobyl as someone who has never even heard of it
INHALES
Chernobyl is considered to be the worst nuclear disaster in history, rated at a 7 on the International Nuclear Event Scale (INES), the only other disaster ranking at a 7 being in Fukushima back in 2011. The disaster occurred on April 26, 1986. The Chernobyl Nuclear Power plant was located in Ukraine, which was under the control of the Soviet Union at the time. It was only about 16 miles from the Belarus-Ukraine border, which was also under Soviet control. There were two main towns nearby, Chernobyl itself, which was older, had only about 15,000 residents, and was actually farther from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant than Pripyat, which had about 50,000 residents, and was only about 2 miles from the plant. Pripyat was newer, and residents had an average age of about 26. The town itself was filled with young, well educated people starting new lives. A large number of public buildings were located in Pripyat, including a school and a sports complex, which contains the famous Azure Swimming Pool. The plant supplied Pripyat with energy, and the place was considered a sort of "dream city." The plant was an RBMK-1000 type reactor, a generation I nuclear reactor, which are the earliest, and generally most hazardous, nuclear reactors. RBMKs were used to produce Plutonium, a radioactive material primarily used in nuclear weapons. However, they could also be used to produce civilian energy, so a few were constructed to supply parts of the USSR with power. At the time of the incident, there were four reactors in operation, with reactors 5 and 6 under construction. A test was scheduled to be conducted to see if the backup generators could successfully turn on in time to keep the cooling systems running at safe levels. However, the test was delayed until the less experienced night shift was in. They turned off the reactor's shutdown feature and lowered the power to the reactor. Reactors need energy to function, as they have to be cooled. For these reactors, large amounts of water were used to cool them. Without the shutdown function, the reactor was in danger of overheating if it wasn't cooled. Regardless, they ran the test. When the backup generators took too long to turn on, panic set in, and the reactor began to overheat. Then, somehow hit the AZ-5 button, which lowers all control rods into the reactor at once. Control rods are used to absorb excess amounts of shed neutrons from the nuclear reactions. However, they momentarily increase reactions when first introduced into the reactor chambers. The undertrained staff of the night shift were not aware of this. With the increased reactivity, the reactor was now dangerously hot, and the casinging around the fuel rods began to rupture, causing white-hot radioactive fuel to come into direct contact with steam. At 1:23 A.M., April 26, 1986, Chernobyl Nuclear Reactor #4 exploded. The contact between the fuel and the steam caused a steam explosion, blowing the 1000 tonne reactor roof into the air and spewing radioactive debris and particles into the air.

Two plant workers were killed instantly by either the force of the blast or from being hit by debris. Although plant workers realized what had happened rather quickly, superiors were slow to act. Firefighters were called in, but they were not told the dangers of the radiation. Most died within a few months. But that was only the tip of the iceberg. In Pripyat, the Amusement Park that had been scheduled to open the next day was hurriedly opened a day early to distract residents from the fact that the reactor was on fire.
It took 36 hours for Soviet Officials to finally begin to evacuate Pripyat, only after residents had begun to report nausea, dizziness, fatigue, vomiting, and headaches, all symptoms of radiation poisoning. A few weeks earlier, citizens were trained with gas masks in case there ever was an incident. Officials said that they didn’t need them, as they didn’t want to cause a panic.
Residents were also told they would be returning soon, and to leave everything behind. They did not come back. This left Pripyat as an eerie ghost down where everything seemed to have simply been dropped and left. Today, it is still abandoned, and is being slowly reclaimed by nature.
During the cleanup of the incident, “Liquidators” were called in. Some knew the dangers, others didn’t. The fire of the reactor was too hot to be put out by water, so tons and tons or boron, sand, and lead were dumped onto the burning reactor by helicopters that flew over. It didn’t help much, and the reactor finally stopped burning after about 2-3 weeks. A structure dubbed “The sarcophagus” was built over the reactor to contain the radiation, though it was rushed and leaked radiation. A large area of woodlands was contaminated by the radiation, and it turned red and died, earning the nickname “The Red Forest.” Most of these trees were cleared and buried. Highly contaminated houses were knocked down, animals were shot, and crops destroyed. Absolutely everything that was highly contaminated was at least attempted to be destroyed and buried. Still, not everything could be destroyed and buried, there was simply too much. One object, dubbed “The Claw of Death” was, according to conflicting accounts, either used to assist in the overall cleanup or was used specifically in the cleanup of the plant roof. It is radioactive enough to give a lethal dose if sat in for about 11 hours.
Another rather infamous object is “The Elephant’s Foot” which is a mass of sand, concrete, and melted reactor fuel that had melted its way through the floor and down into the basement. Upon discovery, the sheer amount of radiation it gave off was enough to give you a fatal dose within about 90 seconds. Today, that’s increased to about five minutes. The foot was unyielding to sampling tools, so, they shot it with a Kalashnikov Rifle (AK-47) to get a sample.
After a very short period of time, the remaining three reactors were up and running again, as the USSR simply needed power desperately. By December of 1987, all three reactors were up and running again. They were operated for years, until the last reactor was finally shut down for good in 2000. Being so close to the border, and with the wind conditions of the time, mass amount of radioactive particles were blown north to Belarus. The Soviet Union had planes fly over and seed the clouds with chemicals, forcing them to rain on rural land instead of heavily populated areas, but this still had a major effect, as about 1/3 of Belarusian farmland was contaminated. However, the winds began to shift, blowing radiation towards Europe. Sweden was the first to sound the alarm, asking if something had happened after detecting dangerous amounts of airborne radiation and determining it was not from any of their own reactors. The USSR finally admitted there had been a “very small” incident at Chernobyl, and was very reluctant to give the world information. Careful monitoring protocols were put on resources everywhere in Europe, from grain to milk to wood, all were carefully measured for radiation. Years later, after the Sarcophagus was determined to be unsafe, the New Safe Confinement unit was constructed, which is a semicircular dome over the existing Sarcophagus. The New Safe Confinement was finished in 2018.
DONE!

Vadim Vladimirskiy, Co-Founder & CEO of Nerdio – Interview Series
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/vadim-vladimirskiy-co-founder-ceo-of-nerdio-interview-series/
Vadim Vladimirskiy, Co-Founder & CEO of Nerdio – Interview Series
Vadim Vladimirskiy serves as the CEO and co-founder of Nerdio, playing a key role in the development of its flagship products, Nerdio Manager for Enterprise and Nerdio Manager for MSP. He is an active speaker at industry events, focusing on channel, technology, and Microsoft-related topics. With a career that began in high school when he started his first IT consultancy business, he has maintained a long-standing commitment to technology and innovation.
Nerdio is a software solution provider that supports organizations of all sizes in deploying, managing, and cost-optimizing native Microsoft technologies. The company collaborates with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and enterprise organizations worldwide, enhancing their existing Microsoft investments, including Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, and Microsoft Intune.
How has your background in IT shaped the vision and product development at Nerdio?
My journey in IT began in high school when I started ComTech Computers, helping people set up home networks and experiencing the complexity and potential of IT. By the early 2000s, I was working as an IT consultant and network engineer at Solus, an MSP in Chicago, where I managed backups for numerous small and mid-sized businesses. Tape backups were unreliable and inefficient, and I envisioned a more streamlined, automated solution. After pushing for months, my bosses and I co-founded Level2 Storage in 2005, a cloud-based backup company, where we offered clients secure, automatic online data protection.
As client needs grew, I saw an opportunity to manage not only backups but entire IT infrastructures remotely—well before “cloud” was a common term. In 2007, we virtualized servers and offered remote access for a few clients as a pilot, which led to the launch of Adar IT. This new MSP offered clients full IT infrastructure management in a virtual environment, enabling them to access their desktops and data from anywhere. The cloud-focused model of Adar was transformative, but skeptics questioned its feasibility. Over time, we overcame challenges, optimized the technology, and grew Adar to serve numerous clients.
By 2016, with cloud adoption growing, we saw other MSPs facing the same cloud complexities we had tackled. This led to the founding of Nerdio, a platform that automates cloud environments specifically for MSPs, empowering them to deliver cloud services without needing deep cloud expertise. Nerdio’s mission is rooted in the solutions we developed for Adar IT and the challenges we faced along the way. How does Nerdio help organizations optimize their Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 environments?
Nerdio simplifies and optimizes Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 environments through automation, cost management, and streamlined deployment. With Nerdio Manager, IT professionals can deploy an AVD environment in a few hours or connect to an existing setup in as little as 10 minutes, reducing deployment time by up to 80%. Our intuitive platform also automates key processes, from image management to application delivery, minimizing manual intervention, and reducing the risk of errors.
Nerdio’s advanced auto-scaling feature is central to its cost-saving capabilities. By dynamically adjusting resources based on demand, organizations have cited saving up to 80% on Azure compute and storage costs, when using Nerdio Manager compared to unoptimized strategies. Additionally, ESG reported that enterprises, on average, experience a 55% reduction in AVD costs using Nerdio Manager, compared to using AVD alone. Our interface also allows IT teams to manage both AVD and Windows 365 environments from a single platform, simplifying administration and improving overall operational efficiency.’
What are some unique challenges Nerdio addresses for enterprises managing cloud deployments?
We’re addressing unique challenges for enterprises managing cloud deployments by streamlining complex IT processes and reducing both operational costs and administrative burdens. With tools like our Nerdio Manager for MSP and Nerdio Manager for Enterprise, the platform fills significant gaps in managing Microsoft environments—specifically Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Microsoft’s Modern Workplace.
For enterprises with hybrid or remote workforces, we simplify the transition to cloud-first environments. Our platforms offer centralized, scalable management features, automating many repetitive tasks. For example, Kite Technology Group uses Nerdio to maintain security updates and disaster recovery processes across all client devices. This approach eliminates the need for frequent manual updates and ensures consistent, secure environments.
Nerdio’s auto-scaling capabilities are particularly beneficial, enabling enterprises to dynamically adjust resources based on real-time business needs. This provides significant cost savings on compute resources, as illustrated by Damart, who saved 50% on licensing and labor costs by using Nerdio’s scaling features. We also make tenant management more efficient. Tasks that once required hours are now completed in minutes, which saves IT leaders’ significant time and resources while managing hundreds or thousands of users.
With advanced features like unified application management, automatic updates and streamlined onboarding, Nerdio simplifies complex cloud management and enhances business continuity. By eliminating much of the labor and budget traditionally required for AVD and Microsoft Modern Workplace, our solutions empower enterprises to scale their cloud environments efficiently and affordably. How does Nerdio ensure security and compliance while managing cloud environments like Microsoft Intune and Azure Virtual Desktop?
Our approach to security focuses on leveraging Microsoft’s robust security frameworks while adding our own layer of automation and best practices to ensure organizations can meet their security requirements.
We integrate Network Security Groups (NSGs) to manage and control traffic at the network level, ensuring all data and applications stay within the internal network.
Additionally, we support Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM), which help restrict access to only those who need it, minimizing the risk of data breaches. Regular patching and updates, combined with our automated tools, ensure all AVD components are protected against the latest threats.
Our platform ensures robust security through continuous monitoring with Azure Sentinel and centralized management. This helps maintain compliance with industry standards like GDPR, HIPAA and ISO. Nerdio is the first organization in the MSP space to partner with the Center for Internet Security, Inc. (CIS). This partnership simplifies compliance efforts and bolsters cybersecurity postures without requiring comprehensive customization or manual configuration. Recently, we partnered with CIS to transform our customers’ IT environments with robust, ready-to-use CIS Windows 10 and Windows 11 Intune policies to strengthen enterprises’ security and drive compliance. How is Nerdio leveraging AI to streamline cloud management for enterprises and Managed Service Providers (MSPs)?
Nerdio leverages AI to streamline cloud management for enterprises and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) by tackling the complexities of migration, ongoing resource management, and cost optimization—all while enhancing security, compliance, and scalability.
Simplifying Cloud Complexity: Cloud environments are often complex, requiring careful handling from migration through day-to-day management. Nerdio’s AI-driven automation simplifies this process, minimizing both downtime and technical overhead. For enterprises and MSPs, this means smoother transitions to the cloud and a streamlined approach to ongoing management, allowing IT teams to focus on strategic goals rather than time-consuming configurations.
Cost Optimization: Managing cloud costs is challenging, particularly with idle resources that can drive up expenses unnecessarily. Nerdio’s platform leverages AI to automate resource scaling and optimize usage, minimizing total cloud expenditure. Predictive analytics help identify potential savings by analyzing usage patterns, while automated scaling ensures resources adjust based on demand—particularly valuable for MSPs managing dynamic, multi-tenant environments.
Unified Management for Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Environments: With a growing need for hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, Nerdio offers a unified management platform compatible with Azure, Windows 365, and other environments, cutting down inefficiencies and simplifying oversight. What are your thoughts on shadowpeach?
Fandom wise? I do not care for it.
Canon wise? I believe in men committing crimes while forming the most toxic, unhealthy attachments to one person could lead to such a dysfunctional relationship that it, eventually, turns into a functional one. And also they’re trans and aspec.
Disclaimer: this is all my opinion and people can do whatever they want, i simply have my gripes with some of the fandom stuff. this is just me explaining what i like and dislike about shadowpeach.
I think the most common thing people fall into when it comes to ships—or shipping in general—is how to domesticate these two characters without fully addressing their flaws, personalities, behavior, and their overall choices throughout the original media/show they come from.
Macaque and SWK both suffer equally through this mischaracterization: Macaque is often painted as this shy or “edgy” character with little to no ties to his actual character in canon and, more often than not, he is perceived as this “dad” type of character when, in fact, he should not be allowed near children for I fear he will bully them nonstop until they sit there in the corner feeling disheartened and miserable about themselves; Sun Wukong is often portrayed as this dumb himbo with little-to-no means of understanding social cues, not understanding emotions in a way that’s very frustrating, and be this yearning, pining idiot who’s still longing for his childhood crush when he did not hesitate to punch this guy in the face multiple times throughout the show. So when they are paired up together it’s this weird mash of people believing Macaque is the better dad with more understanding of human behavior and Wukong is his dumb, doting husband who’s doing his best and cannot stand up for himself when confronted about things.
The amount of times people choose to make Macaque sympathetic by having Sun Wukong’s family side with Macaque when it comes to Wukong’s actions/choices is so vast I could not count them all on one hand. The common trope of having Princess Iron Fan (Sun Wukong’s sister-in-law) become Macaque’s sworn sister is so disheartening to see for someone who read through Journey To The West and thought of how silly the overall family dynamic of the Demon Bull Family and Sun Wukong’s troops was. Removing Iron Fan as Sun Wukong’s literal sister just to have someone backup Macaque and sympathize with him is funny and a bit silly.
That being said… the canon version of Shadowpeach and its possibilities are, in fact, very delicious.

Canon wise this is what we know about Sun Wukong and Macaque’s history together:
Sun Wukong and Macaque meet
The brotherhood is formed after Azure meets Sun Wukong, Macaque tags along with Wukong (note: Macaque is not addressed as “brother” by the characters, only Wukong is)
Macaque tries to warn Wukong about how dealing with Heaven might be a bad idea
They share a peach under a tree; Wukong reassures Macaque this plan will work
Wukong carries on with Azure’s plan anyway (yes, azure lion’s plan, not wukong’s)
The brotherhood is defeated and Wukong gets trapped under a mountain
Presumably no one comes to visit Wukong, only Macaque
During his final visit, Wukong is angry that Macaque is free and can’t see the fact that Wukong was trying to do everything for them and his kingdom
Macaque snaps back at Wukong and calls him an obsessive demon before leaving
They have another fallout and fight
Wukong ends up killing Macaque in the aftermath
500~ years later, Macaque and Wukong fight again with Wukong being more apathetic towards their reunion than Macaque is
Macaque obsesses over Wukong continuously (coughs)
Macaque is biased in his retellings of his and Wukong’s relationship (see: all of shadowplay and the scrolls memories)
They fight (again) throughout S3
They somewhat reconcile by the end of S4
We will address the fact Sun Wukong was groomed into going to war by this former celestial warrior instead of having it be because of his own want to protect his family and friends after Heaven refused to pay him the respect he wanted when he first joined their ranks later. Right now we focus on the fact that Sun Wukong is canonically a person people easily fall in love with (platonically) and have a tendency to want to stay close to regardless of what his future actions will be like and Macaque is sequentially obsessed with him throughout the show.

“The hero and the warrior were like the Sun and the Moon. Their light, a protective glow, shining upon the world. Together, there was nothing that could stop the two of them. Either in the Celestial Realms or on Earth. As time went on, the hero attained power beyond comprehension. As the hero's light grew, so too did his shadow. And soon, the warrior was cast in that shadow. In the darkness, the warrior was forgotten by the hero.”
Fun fact: Macaque is never going to be on par with Sun Wukong’s power and he works best as support than he does a duo-attacker along side Wukong. Wukong is on his own power level and Macaque, while being able of holding his own against enemies, could be stomped to death by Xiaoijiao is he crossed the line.
Macaque’s obsession with Sun Wukong comes from the inability to move on from the past; Macaque wanting things to go back as they were is a subtle theme going through the show — he keeps latching on to biased memories and avoiding the actual problems that caused their relationship to fall apart and it isn’t until Season 3’s big confrontation with Long Xiaojiao’s Samadhi Fire ritual. He realizes he abandoned Wukong during a time of need and proceeds to flee, abandoning him again.
Macaque has issues. More often than not people call out on Sun Wukong for abandoning Xiaotian or the Monkie Kid Crew all while ignoring the fact Sun Wukong does not purposefully leave Qi Xiaotian, he tries his hardest to make it back in time and is visibly scared/horrified when LBD attacks in his absence. Sun Wukong tries his hardest to comfort Xiaotian while Macaque tries to torment him.
Regardless, Sun Wukong and Macaque’s relationship is unique to most media’s portrayal of friends turned enemies. Because Wukong does not see Macaque as a threat up until he teams up with Lady Bone Demon — he is only scary by association, not by anything he has done up until that point. You can tell with the way Wukong mocks him and calls him something akin to a puppet during their interaction in Season 3 when Macaque trapped him and Nezha in the ice.
And even then Macaque doesn’t even bother trying to engage with Wukong in a friendly manner because kindness is for losers HA i’m not apologizing for anything, bye Sun Wukong, you big old LOSER [proceeds to possibly live on the streets and stay homeless until wukong allows him to return to ffm under certain house rules]
You’ll notice that Sun Wukong barely has any opinions on Macaque.
This is because Macaque is favored by the narrative more than Sun Wukong is so we have very little context as to how Sun Wukong genuinely feels towards Macaque.
Sun Wukong sees Macaque as an annoyance, a bother, a threat, a coward, an imposter and then, finally, an ally.
But all we get from that is Wukong handing Macaque a peach-flavored ice cream pop as a parallel to him sharing a peach with his old friend back when they were young monkeys before he was trapped under a mountain for 500 years as a result of his abuser’s power hold on him that forced him to fight heaven as a way to “make the world a better place”.
We love to see it.
Macaque and Wukong’s relationship goes from mutual interest and a supportive friendship established years prior to the original building of the brotherhood to a very weird, uncategorized type of dynamic. The only way to characterize Sun Wukong’s “affection” towards Macaque is, possibly, the same way most people would characterize Macaque to be towards Wukong. Y’know the slightly judgmental actions and eye rolls and scoffs of affection most people write about Macaque when Wukong does something stupid? Yeah.
“But Macaque said “this guy” when Wukong was presenting his plan to defeat Azure—“ yeah have you considered Wukong does a lot of masking in the presence of the entire Monkie Kid Crew and Macaque has a tendency to present himself as this cool persona when in fact he’s just a homeless monkey who’s been crashing on his ex’s couch for the past weeks since the ending of Season 3?
“OK…. but why QPR Shadowpeach?”
Sun Wukong throughout the course of Journey to the West and all its past and future iterations have always had him be uninterested in both men and women. There are multiple instances where he’s capable of courting women and he instead backs away or does not pay it any mind; aside from this he’s heavily implied to only care about familial love and friendships. He does not see his pilgrim brothers as anything more than family and he views Tripitaka as a mentor rather than someone whom he was chained to. And Azure was his idol and he was groomed by him, and everyone else was viewed to him as a troop — or, y’know, a family.
This and the fact that— both Sun Wukong and Macaque are over a thousand years old. Why on earth would they have a normal type of relationship? Giving them a checklist of what passes on as romantic and platonic when to them the line is so blurred it’s barely existent to them is amusing.
Sun Wukong and Macaque having their own weird relationship where it changes from frustrated best friends to partners to angry middle aged demons to the tired traumatized immortals who sometimes cuddle while still beating each other up is so deliciously interesting and unhealthy to the point where it is healthy.
Also Celestial bodies are not the same as mortal bodies; canonically Sun Wukong has transformed into women before and people have addressed him with female-leaning pronouns before. my personal headcanon of sun wukong being genderfluid lves on and now we can have sapphic shadowpeach with transfem macaque.
also im still feverish so if this doesnt make sense then too bad damn im sorry
