Part three of me listing books on my bookshelf that i've read. At this point i'm feeling tired from writing, but I might as well commit and finish this damn thing. But once i'm done, I'm doing back to reading comics and maybe watching tv with my dad once he gets home from work. Because this is shockingly draining. So here we go:
The Neil Flambe Capers by Kevin Sylvester (I think these are my only books that are actually Canadian written. I think I found them in my public library years ago, and I was hooked. Cooking based Detective Novels about a lonely, socially awkward teenage cooking savant? They were pretty fun. My one criticism? They ended on a cliffhanger, and they haven't made a seventh book to resolve the cliffhanger! It's been at least five years! That still bugs me!).
The Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer (I never watched Glee, so this is my only experience with Chris Colfer. I thought he was a pretty good writer. I really liked his stuff, although I never did get around to finishing the series. Knowing how finicky I am on endings, I worry that the ending would leave me upset and unsatisfied. But putting that aside, his characters were pretty good. I still remember that he chose to portray Mother Goose as a wild old woman who liked alcohol. That was fun. I also liked the Prince who was turned into a Frog, but then just embraced it and kept to himself, living lonely and alone for years).
Some of the Rick Riordan Presents books (I have the Aru Shah books, although I only ever got around to reading the first one. I have the first one in the Tristan Strong series, though I haven't read it. I read Sal and Gabi break the Universe, and it was really funny and enjoyable. I read The Storm Runner by JC Cervantes, but I don't remember much of the plot, and I never got around to the sequels. I read Race to the Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse, which was a great book that taught me about Navajo myth. I read Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee, but it was a space opera type of story, and I didn't love it excessively. And I apparently own one The Last Fallen Star by Graci Kim. Seriously, I forgot I owned this book. How can you forget owning a book!?).
The Hardy Boys series (I don't remember when I picked these books up, but I ended up with like the first 20 of these books. They weren't bad, although I don't really remember them too well nowadays. But for being children's detective fiction written in the 30s and 40s, it was pretty good. The one interesting thing about them? No known writer. They were written by multiple different people under one pseudonym, so we can only guess at the writers. I once considered trying the Nancy Drew books, since they were made by the same publisher and just featured a female lead instead of male leads. But I never got around to owning them).
The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins (In elementary school, a French teacher I had suggested these books to me. I told her I hated the Hunger Games, and she said these books were her preferred books from Suzanne Collins. So I read them. And yeah, they were far superior to The Hunger Games. But they're also so goddamn sad. Their ending made me feel miserable, because it was one of those endings where the character could never return to the fantasy realm. And that made me really sad).
I also have picked up a lot of humour books over the years. At least ten of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and stuff like that. But I never felt like bringing those books to school, so those were sort of like my secret (I guess). But I do like a lot of humour. Comedy is something I almost always enjoy. But this has all been so much writing, that i'm finally exhausted. So i'm done now. sigh.

Hi could please write one where the reader is bengali and celebrates Durga Puja with Lando in india ( ollie or kimi works too but I'm not sure if you write for them)?
I did a ‘spin the wheel’ and got Ollie.
Puja Vibes
Tumblr media
Ollie was as white as white gets and his girlfriend was the embodiment of the Bengali culture prancing around. She had helped Oliver expand his horizon; taught him new experiences and delicious food. She will argue, that there’s no dessert like Bengali dessert.
So, when it was time for Y/N to return home for Durga Puja, Ollie would be joining her too since he had no races or prior commitments.
They hadn’t dated for long but Ollie had showered her with gifts on Christmas and taught her all his family traditions. Y/N just wanted to do the same for him.
At the airport, they landed together with Ollie in tow who was enamoured by the hustle and bustle of the city. He saw cows crossing the road like it was another Tuesday and no one batted an eye. Y/N pointed out all the building explaining the significance and the reason behind their construction during the colonial era on the way to her home.
At home, preparations for Durga Puja were in full swing. Y/N’s uncle and aunt had decorated their house ornately. Oliver greeted everyone.
The festivities would start the next day. Everyone was up bright and early for the invocation (bodhon) Oliver was mesmerised by the shining lights and the bright colours and the beautiful way Goddess Durga was dressed.
The main event was Maha Ashtami which Y/N’s father had great pleasure in explaining to Oliver. Oliver was like a kid in a candy store; eyes wide open and mesmerised by the events unfolding in front of him.
You would find the poor boy following Y/N around like a lost puppy. It was adorable watching him hold onto her saree palo as she walked in front of him. “Lemme hold your hand” Ollie whined. “Everyone is here for the festival. What will the elder’s think?” Y/N reasoned. In Indian culture, blatant show of affection was frowned upon especially in the older generations, the younger ones couldn’t care less. That’s why Ollie was walking around holding her palo.
They were stood next to each other while Y/N’s mother made the preparations for Maha Ashtami. “Your dress looks so beautiful. Red truly is your colour” Ollie said. “Thank you babe” she said. “How did you do this?” He asked playing with the folds. “My mum helped. I’m still pretty bad at tying a saree” she said. “Is that what it’s called? A saree” he said enunciating each word. “Yup, it’s an Indian traditional wear but everyone wraps the cloth around them differently, depending on the region of the country” she explained. His mouth formed an O in understanding.
They finished up the celebration with all the rituals being done and Oliver asking way too many questions each step of the way.
On the last day after Vijaya Dashami, after the immersion in the water everyone returned back home, exhausted by the events of the past days when Y/N’s cousin showed her a video; actually a few.
One video, had Ollie following her around like a lost puppy. The other one was of him holding her palo so as to not get lost. And the last one was straight out of a Shah Rukh Khan movie where Ollie’s watch had gotten stuck in her palo and he tried to free himself while actively trying to follow her and not let her know that he might fray her outfit. Eventually, he did free himself but his eyes never left her as he walked behind her.
She showed the video to Ollie and the Shah Rukh Khan scene from Om Shanti Om. Ollie was seen laughing, “didn’t know I would be getting my Bollywood moment this year during Puja” she said. “I’m happy I could be of service, m’lady” he said tipping his imaginary hat. “I would still have loved if it was Shah Rukh Khan” she teased. “Wow! I can’t believe this.” He acted hurt with his hand on his chest. “You are unbelievable.” She muttered pressing her lips on his cheeks. “Don’t try to bribe me with kisses” he huffed. “I’m not. I love you my cute little bear” she cooed. “I’m not cute” he huffed again. “Sure, my rasgulla” she laughed pinching his cheeks. “I like that dessert. Can I have some more?” He replied lost in thought. “I’m sure my mother will find great pleasure in feeding you” she said laughing. “Let’s go” she said pulling him along. “I love you Y/N.” Ollie called out while being dragged along. “I love you too” she replied turning to look at him.
Y/N’s family cooed at them, young love
Hope you liked it! I tried my best

Holding his lunch in one hand, Megat walked through the canteen warily with his gang following behind loyally despite everyone’s eyes glued to him. The whispers and stares targeted towards him were wrapped with nothing but judgment and disrespect. He settled on a table at the corner, quietly as he avoided his gaze from anyone else, different from his usual antics.
“Weh, kau dengar tak cite... Megat attack Beja macam tu je kat dalam bilik dia. Takde manifesto, takde apa.” Megat darted his eyes to the student, eyes bore into the boy menacingly with a grimace on his face. The student jolted, realizing that he spoke loud enough for the devil spoken about to hear it. “M-megat. Sorry...” was uttered as the boy scrambled away with his friend. Megat let out an exasperated sigh, rubbing his forehead as his frustration grew bigger.
How did it become like this? The universe was really throwing the biggest middle finger to him right now to let something as bad as this to happen. What’s worse was that he couldn’t even tell anyone what truly happened. Well, at least if he still wanted to preserve his dignity as a Kapla that is.
“Megat.” Great. Another guest came to him, though rather expectedly. Li.
“Dengar sini, sebelum kau nak tambah migraine aku, kau kena tahu yang semua ni salah Beja. Kalau kau nak tahu sangat apa jadi, kau pergi cari bestie kau tu. Tengok dia berani ke tak nak terus terang dengan kau.” Megat groaned and rambled to the expressionless prefect standing in front of him before he could say anything, clearly done with whatever had occurred.
“Aku tak kisahlah apa yang jadi pun, tapi kau DENGAN Beja, korang dua-dua kena repair katil aku.”
__________
Megat has absolutely no idea how he ended here. One minute he was humming alone as he walked to the toilet. Mind you, out of all the time he was in the dorm, this was one of those occurrences where he literally has zero intention of causing any ruckus. He was on his way to take a shower, that was it. Somehow, the world did not let that happen. At least Abdul Reza did not let that happen. Megat cursed to himself trying to make sense of why he was suddenly in the head prefect’s room, face planted on his bed.
Beja had suddenly dragged Megat forcefully with no words being uttered. “Woi! Ja! Apa masalah kau!”
But that was then.
Now, Beja was vigorously pistoning his length into Megat, movement almost robotic, a showcase of his pure strength and surprising earnestness. Well, not really surprising. They hadn’t stopped doing whatever this was, even after Beja had betrayed Megat on the night of Kudeta. Sure, they could never be the same anymore. But they still could not get their hands off each other, no matter what, and this was one of those days. “J-ja… Sabar… S-slow down, gila…”
Hearing the voice of Megat, slowly losing his well-known, sly demeanor, Beja’s movement became faster, opposing what was pleaded by the other. Megat could not do anything but take it. His hands were tightly secured by Beja’s right hand as his unoccupied one pulled the body of who was once his closer and closer by his waist. Megat knew better than to challenge Abdul Reza when he was fully determined to get something he wanted. He hated to admit that he could never win over Beja when it comes to strength. Although they were about the same height, the boy is almost twice as muscular as oppose to his lanky figure is. Ultimately, he also hated to admit that he found the size difference quite hot.
“Shah.” A rush of shivers went through Megat’s back, hearing that nickname. One that never fails to flood Megat’s mind with all of the sweet promises and dreams. The bed creaked loudly, following their movement resulting from Beja’s sheer force. With little sanity Megat has left from the pleasure clouding his mind, he tried to make sense of what had gotten Beja to act in such a way. He was wilder than usual, the control he treasured so much almost slipping fully away from him.
“A-ah fuck… Ja! Ja, Aku na-” CRACK.
They both stilled from the sound, their heavy breaths were the only audible sound in the room. “Tch. Kau memang sial, Ja.” Megat broke the deafening silence, as he collected himself from the haze of getting cockblocked and finally realized what had happened. He turned his back, an unimpressed look on his face, as his eyes met with a worried expression planted on Beja’s face as he too became aware of what caused the sound. Beja’s bed was broken. The metal at the base of the bed had bent, all due to Beja’s strength.”Padan muka kau. Aku dah cakap slow sikit.”
Abruptly standing up, Beja eyed the bed, failing miserably in trying to hide the panic in his mind. Megat smirked seeing the other losing his usually collected self as the thought of still having this effect towards him brought some sort of satisfaction and victory in himself. “Megat. Ini bukan masa untuk senyum.” Beja glared at him. “Aik. Ni salah aku ke salah kau? Kau yang tak boleh tahan sangat, kan?”
Beja ignored him. Megat’s smirk faltered when he saw Beja’s eyes lit up with intention, going back and forth between his broken bed and Li’s bed. “Ja… Apa yang kau-” That was all that Megat could mutter before he was shown how insane Abu Yamin’s second child is. Beja went on to break Li’s bed too. Megat yelped, clearly shocked with the action. “Apa benda kau buat ni, bodoh!”
Suddenly, the door to their dorm creaked open. There stood none other than the unworthy boy who is glued to Bechik, Hakeem Rizal.
Hakeem was taken aback at the scene that stood before him. “Alamak- Abang Ja... Megat… A-aku just dengar bunyi bising masa lalu tadi, risau ada monyet masuk ke apa ke…” They saw the timid boy eyeing them, with two broken beds surrounding the kp and kapla who were sweating from their heads to their toes. They quickly dismiss Hakeem, saying it was nothing and there were no animals or whatsoever as he had expected. Just the usual kp and kapla’s relationship issue. “Fuh… Nasib baik.” Hakeem let out a sigh of relief as he managed to escape from the two people who hated him the most.
__________
Megat thought he was safe, until today that is. Suddenly, a rumour of him barging into Beja’s room to fight him outside of a manifesto was spread across the school. The truth was, Hakeem told the story to Kahar as soon as he left the two boys to themselves. Unfortunately, he spoke too enthusiastically and animatedly that people around them could hear as well. That was how the rumour started. Classic Hakeem move, not knowing what he had just done.
Megat cursed under his breath as he remembered what Beja did. So, the KP broke the other bed just to make the room logically appear as if they were fighting. To Beja’s logic, only one bed being broken would be too fishy and scandalous. Thus, he resorted to breaking Li’s bed for effect.
Walking through the school corridor, Megat finally saw the culprit to his damaging image. He stopped Beja on his track, “Kau sebenarnya memang nak kenakan aku kan? Kerja kau memang malukan aku je.” Megat said, anger boiling inside him as he finally realized the weight and aftermath of the situation. Unaffected by the words, Beja just stared at him.
“Shah,” Beja sighed. “Kau lagi rela orang tahu aku fuck kau sampai katil patah ke kau nak orang assume yang kau cabar aku luar manifesto?”
Now that - that made Megat’s face turn red, his anger now replaced with embarrassment. He clenched his fists, accepting the logic behind what was said by the other. “Kau memang sial.” Megat muttered in defeat as he continued walking past Beja, having nothing else to say or offer, the realization washing over him that this was at least for the best. “Tapi kau tak boleh tipu yang kau suka, kan?” Beja uttered but the kapla continued his steps, walking further and further away from him. Beja knew that this won't stop them from doing it again.

A bird finds a boy at the behest of a witch. Carefully tied to the bird’s leg is a letter the bird will urge the boy to take.
// @sammykeels
Dear Sammy Keels,
Hello, my name is Thera Wendell and I am the owner of the Crow & Chalice on the other side of town. I suspect your boss Kanta Shah has a file on me somewhere. Kanta has been in an accident. Don’t be alarmed, but he has been in a coma since the 22 of May. I have been taking care of them and will be continuing to do so. I have done work with the Brotherhood before and am aware that this is unconventional but please be assured they are in good hands.
Sammy, I am sure he has put together some sort of protocol in case they ever did go missing, please follow whatever instructions they have left. I know they have put their trust in you in the past and I know you will do right by that trust. I’m sure one of these instructions will probably be to report this to the Brotherhood. If they have questions feel free to send them in my direction. Do not let them give you any grief.
I am so sorry that you have been thrust into the middle of this Sammy. Know that you have a friend and ally in me should you need it. Anything I can reasonably do for you please always feel free to ask. Whether it be with this matter or any other.
Sincerely,
Thera Lee Wendell
P.S. This is Fraus. He is not a familiar just a friend who helps me out sometimes. He is friendly and you may give him a treat if you would like. Please do not feed him rice. He will eat it all and it is bad for his stomach.
a small bag of seeds is included with the letter

I try to do a bit of reading every Ramadan, so, for accountability, and so that when I inevitably don’t get through them I can find my list next year—here's my (extremely very ambitious) reading list for this year!
(suggestions are very welcome, with the warning that I very much may not get through them. this year, I’m trying to learn more about Islam and liberation theology and I’m trying to read more abolitionist texts, and of course my standard queer Muslim books, I’m trying to read more poetry by Muslim poets I don’t know well, and every Ramadan I try and only read fiction by Muslim authors, so there’s some sff on here too!)

We Have Always Been Here by Samra Habib (reread)

IWTV S2E01 First Watch Note
Tumblr media
The notes I took while watching in case anyone is interested. Under the cut.
Anyway, I'm grateful they have improved the Episode Insider and now it's really something worth watching
• It's still a recap but the score slays already. Omg Daniel Hart you deserve all the awards
• I love how it says episode 8 and the silhouette of war torn Europe.
• On Claudia dreaming: Present Louis holding onto Claudia's diaries to provide a fact in the past
• Delainey is insane. Just from being silent, we could feel how torn Claudia is
• Interesting they gave ep 1 to a new director to set the tone
• So before this interview happened, when Louis still believed he killed Lestat in NOLA, he got to read this edited diaries and didn't understand what Claudia wrote? I mean, imagine reading the bitterness in her words yet you didn't know where they came from. The break down in Ep 7 triggers more memories for him to remember
• I think Daniel is similar to Lestat in a way. The more he's afraid of Armand the more crass he is. That Shah Rukh Khan comment, boy stfu
• It's insane how Louis posed dead Lestat like Jesus.
• Okay, I'm gonna "translating" DreamStat lines like I did with dead Abigail Hobbs
• The way Dreamstat shows Louis still misses Lestat and starts to ponder if Claudia worth it. The resentment building.
• OH THE LOUSTAT LEITMOTIF AFTER LOUIS SAID SORRY TO DREAMSTAT. slower version of In Throes in Increasing Wonder
• The lines Dreamstat did are so loaded with meanings. Louis' guilt for killing Lestat; his fear that he will come for revenge; his fear that once he's finally in better place, everything will crumble again; and his longing for him just from how intimately they're talking
• Oh, Louis is obsessed to get everything right. That will gradually eat his mental stability
• Photo of Grace as his wife. Louis you're so funny
• Real Rashid deserves a hell of bonus and a promotion istg
• I don't understand Russian etc, but the use of foreign language and accented English has been smooth so far. A world better than whatever the fuck Mayfair Witches did. And they only had to cover one language.
• "In a landfill and five years of garbage on top." Louis, garbage wouldn't stop him 😭. I wonder where Lestat has been for 5 years tho. Recovering with that many rats are easy. Okay, let's say 3/6 months on rats. Once he gets up, he could kill the first person coming to a landfill. Then it will be smooth sailing. One year tops to recover. Two years, if you'd think he's depressed over Louis killing him idk.
• The emotion in Claudia's eyes 😭
• "Change the subject when the truth blinds you" Oh, she got him.
• That insane monologue Jacob does. Louis starting to remember which is true which is not (he re-remembers the fall, mind you).
• So because the blood is bad, vampires there can't get warmer and feel their sadness and sickness as well. And when they want to turn someone, it's either fail or they turn into a revenant. At least according to Louis.
• Oh, Daciana can taste how strong their blood is. How long they can live.
• I wonder what went through Claudia's head, seeing Daciana emulated herself. She (deservedly, after all his lies) didn't believe Lestat when he said his maker burnt himself. Ofc it didn't make any sense to her ears at that time, burning yourself after you turned someone. But now she witnessed it herself. Someone who could have told her everything, killing themselves after feeling lost and untethered (Daciana lost all of her fledlings)
• "My name is in some of those pages" Louis isn't even listening to his fear. He's deadset on this. And Armand is anxious.
• The face Armand made. Does Louis know he has men around his pinky just for a drop of his affection?
• Louis agreed with Armand to basically shut Daniel up and turn him into a fumble journalist again when he still wants the truth is interesting
• Is that the groan? It's louder now.
• Daniel's reaction when seeing Loumand walking in together is so funny 🤣
• Wait, Session 7 is Ep 7. There are two sessions in this episode and it's Season 10 now. so, what happened in Season 8?
• The way Lestat is there during the You and Me lines, but it's not really Lestat. It's the embodiment of Louis' doubt on this new life he chose together. The way Claudia sitting there so small; Lestat lovingly softly gazing at her. Oh, Louis so wants to believe his words himself.
• Louis arrives in Paris with desperation to prove that this life is worth it; that killing Lestat was worth it; that he'll get that happiness. Even though he's afraid Lestat will come or it will crumble the moment he reaches it. Oh, Louis.

SRK Birthday Celebration Tag Game
Tumblr media
Starting a tag game in honor of the King's 59th
👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑
Reblog and tag a few people to keep the game going!
I'll start:
SRK movie you've lost track of how many times you've watched it?
Ah, there are a few...but I'm going to go with Paheli. Love everything about that movie (except the mustache). I don't know how many times I've put it on telling myself I'll just watch a bit of it, then end up watching the whole thing.
2. Favorite entry scene?
That would be Happy New Year...for reasons 😏
3. Is there a particular scene or character that lives rent free in your head?
Dev Saran. We drink a lot of coffee and talk shit about people. Pathaan also drops in pretty regularly. But whenever I need to renew my faith in romance I watch that last train-station scene in KANK.
4. Got a favorite musical number?
So hard to choose! The craziness of Chaiyya Chaiyya, the romance of Main Agar Kahoon, and I certainly did my part to get Jhoome Jo Pathaan to 1B views. But I'm gonna have to go with Morey Piya. Haven't stopped thinking about it since the first time I watched Devdas.
5. If you could ask SRK one question, what would it be?
I'd probably have to stop myself from asking "What exactly is your body-fat percentage?" 😂
I'd really love to ask him how he develops his characters. Every actor seems to do it differently, and the process has always interested me. (Also, it would require him to give a long answer, so I'd get to listen to him talk *swoon*)
Tagging: @chameli @pixlerelish @theinfinitedivides @amdone @anotherfanaccount @tsupertsundere @lastofthe20thcenturygirls
And anyone else who wants to join!

I want to keep reading my book (since there's so little time left in the school year), but I need to make a note about romance. Because of Aru and Aiden and Mini and Rudra/Rudy, I need to talk about how romance is just so baffling.
Aru said Mini hadn't mastered the art of Boy. That's meant to be a joke, but is it really that funny? That men and women are different personality wise… maybe it's true, but I don't think it is. It sounds like bizarre pseudo scientific bunk. Men and Women are not fundamentally different in any way besides the anatomical. I don't believe they're any different. I did find the boys sometimes more immature, but I was only ever severely and deliberately bullied by a girl. So it's not like both sides here are inherently better or different. No, good people are good no matter their gender. And bad people are bad no matter their gender, too. Society needs to stop with the jokes about men not understanding women, or vice versa. It's really more just humans not understanding other humans.
For me, romance is merely an extension of friendship or any of the other kinds of love. I don't understand how you can have romance without having friendship. They embody such similar concepts that it feels bizarre to imagine them as seperate things. The reason I ship so many things in fiction is usually just because I view any friendship as being potentially romantic, because I don't really see a barrier there. I see it with sexual stuff, but not with romantic and platonic stuff. So the idea of automatically crushing on someone (as mini did with rudy) completely baffles me.
I also don't think romance can come from teasing. If you saw my reaction to Alex Fierro x Magnus Chase, you'd already know that one. They bonded via constantly teasing each other, and my brain only ever read that as very mean-spirited and unkind. Teasing is like bullying, but less bad. But it's still not great, and seeing a relationship come from constant put downs and teases really confused me. None of the relationships in the aru shah book series have reached that point yet, although there has been a few moments where we might've walked the line. I can talk about that more some other time, if the mood strikes me. Or if I can remember any clear instances of characters teasing and it bothering me. Whichever one comes first, if any.
I don't know what else I can say from here, though. And since I only have a small handful of school days left, I'm gonna put my phone away now and start reading again. But it did feel good to get all this stuff off my chest, I will admit. It's just nice to release all my thoughts like this.

CrHappy New Year - Part 3 It starts -> here
They went very quiet after Ji Ho's song. And when they were able to clear their thoughts, they started to discuss how amazing it was and what they would be able to achieve - until Saiwa stopped them. This was a party after all. They could ponder about this next year ;) And so he started the movie. 'Happy New Year' with Shah Rukh Khan. They are all crazy for him and happily sang 'India Waale' along with him.
'Yoon toh seedhe bade. Kabhi chahe toh haathon se lete lakeerein chura O humko parwah nahi. Joh bhi kehta hai kehne de jag yeh bhala ya bura Jaisi bhi marzi ho hamari.Karte hai aisi hoshyari Par dil se yaar joh le pukaar toh jaan nisaar kar daale'
'Usually we're very simple But if we want we can steal the lines from one's palms We don't care what the world says about us, good or bad Whatever we desire we attain that by using our smartness But if someone calls from their heart then we'll sacrifice our life for them' Saiwa cuddled with Jeb and Ji Ho moved closer to Vlad. They hadn't touched yet today and the Bond was hungry...
Tumblr media
And when the movie was over it was midnight. Good timing! Happy New Year, Boys! It's the first New Year's Eve they spend all together.
Tumblr media
Jack went outside to be alone for a while. But Kiyoshi followed him.
Tumblr media
We'll never know if Kiyoshi was just mimicking the others or really wanted to embrace Jack. Jack let it happen. Even though his relationship with Kiyoshi drove him into utter madness and he never felt 'this fated mates thing', he loved Kiyoshi. And he misses him.
Tumblr media
They didn't last long after midnight. Goats had to be fed and the winery had to be tidied up early next morning... Sai and Jeb went to their room first. Sai will finally ask Jeb what possessed him to wear this outfit today... Jeb: "Don't you remember? I wore this jacket on our first date and you bought me these trousers and then we had our first quarrel because I didn't like them and..." Saiwa: "Of course I remember. But why do you wear it when you don't like it? It's so not you - at all." Jeb: "You said in the library that staid and bland isn't your style...but my style is staid and bland and..." Saiwa: "Oh Jeb! Your style isn't staid and bland. It's your style and I love it. And I love you, no matter what you wear. Do not change because I say stupid stuff. I can't believe it - you yourself said that to me when I was worried you were disgusted by the way I dress." Jeb: "So you don't prefer any of my outfits over the other? And it doesn't matter what I wear?" Saiwa: "Uhm - not so fast. I'd really love to meet my professor again ;)"
Tumblr media
Professor: "Here I am. So what was that important you wanted to meet me on New Years Eve?" Student: "I'm still worried about that seminar..." Professor: "Don't you worry. I'll help you prepare for it."
Tumblr media
The Room where they celebrated is Vlad and Kiyoshi's room. Jack and Ji Ho share a room on the opposite side. Jack already went over. And Ji Ho hugged Vlad good night. Ji Ho: "I will learn how to love you, I promise." Vlad wanted to reassure him that it is fine if he doesn't love him. That he is fine. But before he could say anything, Ji Ho kissed him.
Tumblr media
Ji Ho: "Shhh..."
Tumblr media
Ah! I wish a very Happy and Healthy New Year to you! May we get a peaceful, silent 2024. Thank you for reading, following, commenting, liking - and existing <3 You are amazing!

The Real Thing
1- My Fault
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK!"
Aru Shah was screaming.
What's new?
"Y'know, when people say I like you to someone, they typically mean in a romantic way, dumbass."
Aru Shah was screaming at Aiden Acharya.
Well, an imaginary version of him.
It was dumb, and possibly psychotic, but what else could one do alone in their room?
Clean?
Bullshit.
The imaginary Aiden's presence was fleeting, and she had to refocus on the image of the boy in her mind to keep him in the corner of her room. "And what's the deal with you and Poppy, huh?" She turned to face the miraged boy. "It's all, 'we're friends, Shah,' and then you go giggling with that demon bitch-" a bit far, but a safe space is a no-judgement space, too.
She threw her clothes in a hamper. HA! Look! She could multitask. Laundry and screaming at an imaginary pretty boy.
"You know, the whole reason we're in this mess is because of her," she reminded him. There was no trace of recognition in his eyes, no reaction. Just a phantom that looked like the boy across the street. "I'm serious- don't give me that look- she was recording me and was going to ruin my life-" And you could have dealt with it, a small voice in her head interrupted. You could have fessed up to your lies and had a clean slate.
Tears rolled down her cheeks. Shit. This was her fault. She knew, of course, but the lie that Poppy was the root cause had always given her comfort. Under the merciless glare of Aiden, though, the lie seemed more like a flimsy excuse, and she was at fault.
"FINE! You got me!" She yelled at the figure. "I let the Sleeper out. It's my fault."
No reaction.
She threw Vajra at the figure and opened a window. No more of this imaginary Aiden bullshit.
She didn't want to talk anymore.
2- House Of Friendship
"I didn't know you were a Taylor Swift fan," she said nonchalantly. She had opened the door to her room to find imaginary Aiden there. Might as well have a talk. "Let me guess, you tell people your favorite album's Folklore when you're more of a Lover girlie?" She raised a brow, grinning madly at the holographic boy.
Right. He's not real, despite the slight look of judgement developing on his face.
Shit, she's not supposed to even know anything about Taylor Swift.
"Uh, I mean... whaaaaat? Taylor who?" Her cheeks were on fire and there was no recovering. She groaned in repent, flopping on her bed. "I like Reputation," she said, voice muffled by her pillow.
"You know," she said suddenly, sitting up, "we should totally do an album listen. Like, when our queen of pop releases new music." She started pacing around the room. "Like, we'd put up fairy lights, and make a giant pillow fort- I trust you to bring food, but of course I'm gonna be in charge of the fort- Oh! And we could take my mom's AirPods and listen to the new album together! See, Wifey, technology!" She made jazz hands to imaginary Aiden grinning like an idiot. "You're so damn stubborn about technology," she groused when imaginary Aiden maintained his judgmental face. "I bet you're one of those people who don't like it when their thermostats are connected to google home or something like that," she got up to her computer, pulling up a picture of the google home tech. "See? Not so bad- but that wall color is!" She exclaimed in disgust. Aiden would agree with her. Army green is no color for a living room. Something about color theory and light, but she mostly thought it was ugly.
"There's no way our house is gonna look like that, you hear me? We do yellow and white and that's it-"
Oh.
Oh.
HOLD UP.
What was that about our house???
Yellow and white?!
WHY WAS ARU PLANNING THEIR FUTURES TOGETHER???
"I bet you're terrible to live with," she snapped at the imaginary Aiden. Surprisingly, he scowled at her in disapproval.
"What? You know it's true," she lied. It probably wasn't. He was probably one of those people who cleaned as they cooked and did laundry twice a week periodically so that it didn't pile up and, in that process, took care of all the soft ass blankets in the house which were probably really nice to cuddle in-
Aiden was smirking at her. A figment of her imagination was making fun of her.
"Rude," she muttered, throwing a pillow at him. He didn't disappear. "Ugh, you're probably one of those people who make their partners communicate and shit," she said, cheeks on fire.
STOP IMAGINING AIDEN IN A RELATIONSHIP! She screamed at herself.
"And, to make matters worse, you probably gatekeep all the food in arguments." Imaginary Aiden frowned at her. He turned to leave and she stumbled out of bed, grabbing at nothing. "NO- wait! C'mon, you and I both know I didn't mean it like that. You would be great to live with even if you're a snob, and we'd have a whole lot of fun painting a house together!" She pleaded desperately. Since when could imaginary Aiden decide for himself? "Really, I would love-" she choked on the word slightly, "- to- well, live with you! Cause love! And friendship!" She offered awkwardly.
He smiled at her before shaking his head.
Then he left.
Why did he always leave?
3- Promises...
"ARU-!"
And they were gone.
She was gone.
She was with the Sleeper.
There was no one here.
Make no noise, she told herself.
For twenty minutes, she sat there in silence, looking around. No one came.
She softly cried, the reality of the situation hitting her.
She was alone, in the Sleeper's lair. She wanted her mom. She wanted Boo. She wanted her sisters. She wanted the Potatoes.
She wanted to go home.
"I know, Shah. We'll get out of here soon." Imaginary Aiden. She couldn't be mad at him.
She shook her head like a toddler, sobs racking her body. "You don't know that." Aiden came up to her and hugged her, snaking his arms around her waist.
"Yes I do. They're not going to leave you like this." She could feel his breath against her ear, a phantom of a kiss to her forehead-
"But they should," she sobbed. "They should get themselves out of this mess and leave me here to rot." She looked up at imaginary Aiden. "You should, too."
"What, and leave the best person I know in the hands of our enemies?" Aiden smiled sadly at her. "I don't think so, Shah."
She had nothing to say to that. Her eyes were getting droopy and sleep was going to take her soon.
"Rest, Aru. You're not going to remember this, but I promise we'll get you out of here."
Her thoughts were messed up, and she wasn't thinking quite right, so maybe she was already asleep when she said it, or maybe imaginary Aiden heard her mumble 'I love you'.
Either way, darkness was reclaiming her soon.
4- ... And No Promises
"It's not so bad, asshole," she glared at imaginary Aiden in the corner.
"Yes it is, Shah," he glared back.
"Our souls in a past life were married- how is it any worse now?" She took the garland of her neck and took the bindi off. The ordeal with the vanara fake wedding had just gone down, and real life Aiden was throwing a hissy fit for the ages.
And so was imaginary Aiden now.
"It's worse because we, Aru and Aiden were gonna get married. Not Arjun and Daupadi. They're the soulmates, Shah, not us."
She wanted to scream that, by technicality, they were soulmates too.
Instead, she yelled at him. "And? Would it be so bad to marry me? Huh?" She walked menacingly towards him, at her wit's end. "You say and do all these things, but the minute you're faced with any kind of commitment you run away!"
Oh, boy. The floodgates were open now.
"We are not you parents! You are not your parents! You're better than that! You know better! I'm not going to leave you," she choked out, half bawling. It was an ugly cry, the kind that girls who were always unwanted did when they were reminded of their unwantedness. "I would never willingly leave you," she said again, determination set in her eyes. "That's what love is."
"None of that matters, Aru," imaginary Aiden said coldly.
"Because Kara, right?" She asked softly.
Aiden immediately softened. "Because I'm going to die, Shah." Aru was sure by now she had fallen asleep- there was no way the flying erasers came with the room she was in.
"No you're not," she said, confused.
"That's not something you can promise," Aiden said sadly.
He was right, for once.
She couldn't promise that.
5- Till Death Do Us Part
"Blind rage looks great on you, Shah," Aiden said snarkily.
She turned to him in hysteria, tears streaming down her face and a fire in her eyes. "You're dead," she spat. "You left me here."
"People need you," he said calmly.
"I need you! I matter more than those people- or at least I thought I did-"
"The greater good-"
"Is bullshit!" She screamed. Atlanta was empty in the thin 4 am morning light. "The greater good, and saving everyone is bullshit if you're not here!" She breathed in deeply, pulling herself together to deliver a final, some might even say deathly blow.
"If the stories are true- which they are- then I'm going to die soon."
Aiden froze in the corner of her vision, then immediately rushed over to her. "Shah? Hey, listen, you can't-"
It was like he was actually clinging to her shoulder. She did not move away. "Arjun dies soon after Draupadi does. It's over for me." She turned to him, nearly hopeful. "I'm done. I'm tired, Aiden. I don't want to fight without you."
It was his turn to rage, it seemed, cause Aiden shook her shoulders and Aru actually felt it. "Listen to me, Shah. I'm going to come back. But in order for me to do that, you have to fight. Giving up now ensures that we both die, and I'm not willing to accept that, yet."
She cried even harder. When did the world become deserving of this boy?
"Light 'em up, Shah," he said softly, holding her hands.
She nodded at him, cracking a smile only to say, "you mean, arson, right?" Before he laughed sadly at her and disappeared.
She could feel her soul fighting to escape her body, she could feel herself being drained of her lifeblood-
But she just.
Won't.
Stop.
6- For Real This Time
Aiden was in the corner of the room, typing away at his computer.
"I was thinking red velvet?" Aru asked.
He cracked a smile, looking up from his work on the laptop. "Do you know how to make it?"
"Brynne lives twenty minutes away," she replied. She pulled him out of his chair and wrapped her arms around him.
"What's this for?"
"Corporeal affection is superior to verbal affection."
"Meaning...?"
"Meaning I need a damn hug, Wifey." She squeezed tighter, breathing in the scent of fresh laundry.
"Red velvet sounds a little extra, don't you think?" They were swaying softly on the spot to no music, and Aru leaned her head on his chest, listening to the stead thump of his heart.
"Yeah, but we are extra," she said. In full honesty, she would love to skip the dinner tonight with the Potatoes and just stay in bed, but she knew this was important.
"How about chocolate? I think we have a box mix in the pantry."
Aru sighed dramatically, falling back on their bed. "Fiiiiiine. But don't get offended when we get called basic."
"We are basic, Shah," Aiden said, already walking to the kitchen.
"Hey, I thought we were extra!" She called back.
Seems not.
When she finally got out of bed and into pants, she found Aiden mixing away in the kitchen, with powdered sugar in his hair.
Gods, this was real.
So, so real.
She smiled at him, thankful for the fact.
In the corner of her eye, imaginary Aiden waved goodbye, smiling softly as he faded away.
She didn't need him anymore.
She had the real thing.

Study of Jean and the people around her pt.1
Dorea Potter nee Black: THAT IS MOTHER!!! Jean was a miracle baby, Dorea was past her prime but Jean was a gift from mother magic. She has naming rights because Charlus was overpowered (They had a duel for rights; Dorea won) but While Dorea was the perfect mother, she was not a perfect person: after all she was raised a Black. Jean was raised with perfection, all the trainings and lessons only an heiress and a pure blood lady requires. Dorea had a quick wit and temper to her that made it hard to win any arguments around her, she was not afraid of anything (hexing suitors were one example) Jean had a very hard time disagreeing with her mother because her mother was perfect, and Jean would always feel bad, she doesn't know why but she does. From Dorea: in her mind, her daughter could do no wrong and spoilt her with everything she had, of course they've had their tough times but Dorea couldn't bring herself to stay mad for long, she tries her best to keep an open mind at her friends choice of friends and would always try for her daughter. THAT IS MOTHER! They don't have a bad relationship, it's just sometimes being a mother daughter duo is not always suppose to be perfect. My fancast for her is: The iconic Monica Belluci!
Charlus Potter: Their relationship is like a father who wanted a boy but got a girl and wouldn't exchange it for the world, he cherishes her, calls her his princess, treats her like one. He is sweet and caring as a father, but Jean inherited that caring nature, his love for flying was passed down to her, but her competitive streak was all his wife. He adores them for the world. Charlus was the only child and while he wanted more children, he was not ungrateful of his child, ofc like any parents they had theyre moments especially when it came to boys- they would always butt heads bc Jean was too young and Charlus was old school, he wanted someone who would go through the pure blood courting process and the Potter courting process. Charlus takes pride in teaching Jean about their culture often matching and lcooking together despite having house elves. Charlus is a powerful man, he stands his ground and knows when to fall back, his wife taught him that because in many instances when they were young he would just run in, and he mourns how that would pass down to his daughter as well. He had middle name rights so as per tradition; Euphemia, his mothers name. Fancast: ;) The good ole Shah Rukh Khan!!!
Jeanette Euphemia Potter: In her mind her parents are perfect despite their faults because at the end of the day that's her parents, and she wouldn't trade them for anything else, she grew up a princess, but she also grew up with knowledge and wisdom often taught by her father and mother. Her family, through many generations, were told of their ancestors and their connections with Death, always being told to never fear Death for he is an old friend, she was never afraid, it made her more brave and adventurous, treating Death like a friend than an entity that will one day take her.
I hate when people hc james' parents to be the most perfect human beings with no wrongs, NO, PLS LET THEM HAVE FAULTS. It makes the characters more human. Relationships with parents aren't suppose to be perfect, people aren't perfect. I have complaints and I try every night to change and figure out the dynamics. JKR- you!!!!! and sometimes fanon irritates me, parents aren't perfect, they will never be- as well as their kids.

Tumblr media
so the thing about imperialism is that it makes countries battlegrounds for foreign powers. In Syria we see Turkey & Israel at the behest of the US backing “rebel” militias against Assad.
As a matter of fact, the Syrian’s can get Assad out. They have the self-determination and agency to do so. They’ve said as much. But it’s hard to achieve when you got nato and cia spoilers splitting your attention & resources!
If we know this then we can see how mr jones is idealistic and his analysis has no attachment to the real world:
Tumblr media
It’s not that ppl like Assad. It’s not that Assad hasnt committed crimes against Syrians. he probably smells bad too. It’s that Assad does not play nice with the us. the us wants him out so they can, if not take over then have a destabilized Syria which is bad for the axis of resistance in particular but the region more broadly and for Syrians of course.
Anti-Assad discontent began in March 2011. If we recall October 2011, we’ll remember Kkkillary Kkklinton assassinated tyrant Gaddafi in Libya. And what came as a result? Open air slave markets!!!! yaay much better living conditions for those oppressed Libyans no doubt.
We can go back to the Shah’s overthrow in Iran in 79. A monarch is scary and undemocratic but the bp oil & cia backed coup didn’t work out so well for the Iranians and certainly not the US for that matter 😔😔
We can move out of the MENA region and into Latin America with the cia backed Pinochet led coup against Allende in Chile. The original 9/11 back in 73. A socdem certainly is evil and tyrannical but what about the violence Pinochet caused in the aftermath? not just his fascistic violence but the violence of neoliberalism the Chicago Boys means tested in Chile so that we can all enjoy austerity and perpetual economic distress!
We could go on but what do you think will happen to Syria in the short term & long term given these historical precedents??
But how meaningfully can Assad be anti-imperialist? can we think of at least one thing? well you’d be hard pressed to think of one if you only followed known fruit fly owen jones:
Tumblr media
in the 06 Lebanon War, Syria was an important resupplier. And so now too are they an important resupplier for Hamas and Hezbollah. That doesn’t seem to be in us interest! so going back to the earlier point: getting rid of Assad means getting rid of these resupply lines that are essential for Hezbollah and Hamas to continue the resistance.
If you support Palestine as well as support the Tüsareali backed militias against Assad, you are actually playing both sides which, given the weight of imperialism means you are a stooge for the us and an enemy of Palestine. Hence the PFLP’s recent statement against the rebel groups in Syria, rightfully pointing out that they are zionist and us backed.
The world is complicated. and things exist *shock* in contradiction. Yes Assad is bad and yes America is bad. what’s the moral thing to do? the us is the greatest threat to humanity. Assad wishes he could be so evil.
you can vote for the lesser of two evils in an election where both evils support us imperialism & genocide! but you can’t support the lesser evil Assad who happens to be america’s enemy 🤔 how convenient is that!
But back to the point, Syria is a state. There’s only so much it can do especially since it’s already in the west’s crosshairs. aiding non-state actors is helping actually. Non-state actors have a flexibility with international law that states do not have! This is partially the reason Iran’s response has been less than desirable. Getting too involved as a state can accelerate the west’s plan for regime change (something israel is doing anyway in Syria and trying to achieve with Iran). If that happens then logistically it makes it harder for Syria and Iran to help these non-state actors like Hamas.
