Ignoring the information on Pottermore, I have a personal headcanon that Charlus was the son of Fleamont and Euphemia Black. James Potter, therefore, is the son of Charlus and Dorea.

And yes Dorea is a redhead.

Imagine James and Regulus are out and about somewhere, maybe Diagon Alley, when they happen to run into Charlus and Dorea Potter (née Black).

While James starts catching up with his uncle, Dorea looks at Regulus, then looks at James, who’s holding multiple bags, up and down, turns her gaze back at Regulus and says, her voice full of sympathy and humor,

“You too?”

Summary: Heir Charlus Potter must perform the Death Rites for the babe Heiress Dorea Potter lost in the wake of being poisoned. He is terrified that he might yet lose his lady-wife to the poison as well.

Let's remember that Harry and Draco are NOT confirmed to be related, Dorea black had a son with Charlus Potter but it isnt specified who is the son AT ALL, and Sirius is just Harry's godfather, not related whatsoever.

BUT who is confirmed to be related to the blacks and by consequence to draco are the weasleys.

Cedrella black married Septimus weasley, who is Arthur weasley's father, Arthur then married Molly, with who then they had William, Charles, Percy, Fred, George, Ronald and Ginevra.

So for the sisters week of the @ladiesofhpfest, I'm writing about some of the obscure great-aunts from the Black family (Cassiopeia, Dorea, Callidora, Cedrella, Charis).

Folks, these ladies are just names on a family tree. All the info we have on them is their birth/death dates; their parents', siblings', and husbands' names; and how many children they had. And most of that is not even technically canon, depending on what you count, because only Cedrella is even mentioned in the books.

Why am I getting so emotional about these women? Why am I suddenly so invested in Charis missing Cedrella after she was disowned? Why have I suddenly decided Cassiopeia never had kids because she was terrified they would be squibs like her brother? Why do I have Dorea looking around at her mess of a family and wondering why they tell you family is everything only to make it so conditional? None of that is canon! I decided to do it that way! Why am I so determined to make myself cry?

Clearing up misconceptions

So a lot of people seem to believe that Abraxas Malfoy married Druella Rosier, however...

Druella Black[4] (née Rosier) (fl. 1951-1955) was a pure-blood witch who married Cygnus Black III. The couple had three daughters: Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa Black. " (Harry Potter Wiki)

So who did Abraxas marry? Honestly.... We don't know. All we know is that however it is, they are definitely not a Rosier. Perhaps he married an Avery, Macnair or Mulciber.... Or someone from a different pureblood family entirely.

Another common misconception, constantly being perpetuated by fanfiction cause people just LOVE the idea of a Teeny Tiny Wizarding world :

Dorea and Charlus Potter are James Potters parents.

They are not, as you can see right here:

So what Charlus and Dorea are of James? Well, either They are his grandparents or, my own personal take, his Aunt and Uncle.

Ofc, you are free to write them as his parents if you want but not only you will be essencially erasing and/or flat out ignoring the freaking inventor of Sleekeazy's Hair Potion but also systematically destroying every chance Progstar/Starbucks, Jegulus, Sirry, Drary and whatever the heck the oficial ship name for Regulus Black/Harry Potter is (Regarry? Hagulus? Hargulus???) ever had of happening.

Look, i get why someone would want to destroy Sirry and Regulus Black/Harry Potter and as much as i love progstar, it is not that popular so it's not that surprising that someone would want to kill it. But Do you seriously want to obliterate two of the three most popular crack ships on this fandom, just so you can pretend the wizarding world is even more inbreed than it already is?

Wich, if you want to avoid incest, would leave you with the following options for partners for Harry :

Chapter 1 Chapter Text “Well fuck, Princess. I don't think this is where we meant to land.” Hermione shot a glare at Draco that promised retribution, as soon as they got out of the mess they’d landed themselves in this time. “Think this was Potters doing?” He winced the moment the question was out of his mouth as pain flashed across her face. “Of course it was.” she replied softly, allowing him to wrap her in his arms as both of them ignored the wands pointed their way. “I’ve never met them!” a voice protested loudly behind her, “This isn't my fault!” “I don't believe it was our doing either.” Another voice followed, reminding Draco viscerally of his mother. Hermione unwound herself from Draco, turning slowly to face the group of people who were staring at them with a mix of curiosity, fear and hostility. “Perhaps we should allow them to explain.” Minerva ventured looking over the two people standing in front of them. They were filthy, emaciated and haunted looking. Their clothes were tattered enough to indicate that they’d been worn for some time and she didn’t want to imagine how long it would take the girl to comb through the matted mess on her head. Neither of them had moved for their wands but she noticed the twitch of their fingers that suggested they’d have them in hand in seconds if needed and the wary way they watched the room, their sides pressed tightly against each other. Neither of them looked older than the students who had just graduated but she knew she hadn’t seen these two before in her life. “And how do we know they’re telling the truth?” Moody growled. Hermione rolled her eyes. “Lets not pretend you don't have veritaserum on hand, Alastor.” Moody flinched “And just how do you know who I am?” He demanded, his posture immediately defensive as another shocked ripple flowed through the room. Hermione shot a look at Draco, communicating something silently that had Minerva intrigued. Before she could open her mouth to redirect, Moody shot a hex at them. The effect was instantaneous. Minerva watched in horrified fascination as the children, the bedraggled, starved looking children immediately morphed into soldiers, their faces shutting down completely as their stances changed and the girl fired up a shield charm before she could blink, the boy shooting off an incarcerous with the girl following up with an expelliarmus and the boy stunning the crotchety Auror to end the threat. Neither relaxed even with Moody incapacitated. She knew without asking that these children had fought before. And that thought made her heart sore. No child should ever look like that. “I think that perhaps we should all lower our wands.” Albus suggested mildly, his eyes roaming over the interlopers with a gleam Minerva wasn't sure she liked, his mind clearly turning over possibilities. Neither of the children moved, their body's screaming distrust as they pressed themselves closer together and held their wands steady. “I think not.” The boy answered coldly. “Its been a bit of rough few years and I’d hate to have survived this long to be taken out by one of your little birds who couldn't be bothered to wait on a fucking explanation.” “To be fair, you did just appear in a building that is secret kept.” Dumbledore answered mildly. “And no one appears to have any idea who you are. It's…rather suspicious, wouldn't you say?” “All the more reason not to fucking kill us and allow us to give you answers, wouldn't you say?” the girl growled mockingly. “Christ, no wonder it turned into such a fucking shit show. How the fuck did anyone get any information if no one actually bothered to fucking ask?” The boy snorted, “That year in a tent did wonderful things for your vocabulary, Princess.” “Fuck off, Ferret.” she growled. “Remind me why I brought you along?” “Because I was the only one left?”

Behind the scenes of my fanfic #16

Everything that’s happening in this fanfic, scenes including the adults and not having any of the main cast, Or just seemingly bizarre little facts is something I’ve always wanted to see in fanfic but never did so I decided to do it myself. Like I want to look into the inner politics of the wizard in the world and yeah you get it in Harry Potter stories were Harry becomes Lord Potter and goes and gets his seats and does politics, but I wanted to see it as adults doing it and not a 16-year-old doing it. I wanna see Arcturus black getting in an argument with someone about laws, I want to see Fleamont Potter (because in my story the potters are part of that) slaying someone with his words over the legality of a potion. I want some random lady or Lord to gossip about Walburga’s sanity while others are trying to listen to a law and decide if it should be enacted.

Or I wanna hear tidbit conversation between Walburga and her “Friends” just to show she’s just as terrible person as she is in private. I created a whole wand shop in Nocturn alley and a character I’m never probably gonna use again because I was wanted another one shop to compete and that dark wizards would go to because I don’t know world building I guess.

Basically I want Extremely detailed fanfics that explores not just the world of the main characters they put themselves in or I put them in but also the outside world in that fic. I want Effie and Monty to not just be James’ parents Who we only hear about in the summer. I want Them to be fully develop characters. I wanna know more about the black family outside of what Orion and Walburga are like. Or the fact that the family is full of incest which I thought was researching they married outside of the family a lot, the only ones that didn’t seem to be not married outside the family were Orion and Walburga.

I also wanted to include Dorea and Charlus Potter because Before we knew James’ parents were Effie and Monty, a lot of fanfics had that Dorea and Charlus were his parents. And when we found out Effie and Monty were his parents we never saw Dorea or Charlus ever mentioned again in relation to any of the Potters

Charlus Fredrick Potter, staunchly proud Potter yet never belonged

Eldest and first son to Clifford (b. 1892) and Susan (nee Sapworthy), born in 1918 raised around horses with his three younger siblings. The nephew to Fleamont (b. 1890) and grandson of Henry "Harry" (b. 1866), Auror and of the Wizengamot. Charlus began college initially though flew Submarine Spitfires in wartime but was thwarted to Grindelwald's Allianz in promises of equality.

Perhaps his love for Dorea Black (b. 1918), formally of the W.S.O. and agent to the Allianz, in their labor from crimes, had urged him towards respect along with regret. They had three children, with many struggles: Leandros (b. 1950), Philip (b. 1953), and Tabitha (b. 1955). Not all reached adulthood and most disowned by the House of Black.

Close with each of their families, respect slowly enveloped Charlus as he fought the growing darkness on the Continent as a Union (F.D.W.U.) Statutekeeper. Longing for heirship, but never his, and was constantly tempted towards the darkness yet battled it until his last breath.

Dorea never let go of her brother Marius (b. 1916) that her family cleaved to, even if it was quiet and later among the respected Blackworth family and nobody discussed their close open relationship with the Weasleys. Did the Potters have any intended or unintended influence on all the Black heirs? Most certainly. The Blacks will never trust any Potters ever again.
