HOME | BAIZHU
summary: after months in inazuma searching for something that could help him, you finally returned home.
warnings: none really, baizhu’s illness, soft sweet n a little angsty, unedited, written on phone
wordcount: idk probably 2k ish
notes: wowowowowow pretty green man stole my heart @saintdainsleif @hanmas @dxlucs @mxnjiros @manjiroscum @alucrds @suyacho @sugusshi @tokyometronetwork
“you are insatiable.”
you smiled against baizhu’s neck when you heard the man let out a soft sigh, stirred awake by the gentle kisses being trailed up and down his neck. to any other person, he would have sounded exasperated—annoyed, even—but you caught the fond undertone hidden beneath the words, and you didn’t have to look up to know that a small smile was inching onto his lips.
“i have missed you,” you corrected, carefully running your fingers through his long green hair, dampened by the steam rising from the warm water of his bath. you pressed another chaste kiss right beneath his right ear as you shifted the hair over his left shoulder. “have you missed me?”
you rested your chin on his shoulder, arms loose around him as you kneeled outside the tub, eyes slid shut peacefully. your fingertips grazed the surface of the hot water, basking in your lover’s presence for the first time in two months.
“a ridiculous question,” baizhu murmured, long, thin fingers intertwined with your own as he lifted one of your hands to his lips, pressing a kiss against your knuckles. “how did the trip go?”
were you able to find anything?
you let out a quiet breath, kissing his shoulder again. not for the first time, you had gone abroad to search for answers and remedies for the illness that plagued baizhu. mondstadt, sumeru, natlan, and now inazuma with the sakoku decree being lifted—you spent months traveling teyvat, leaving with hope that you finally would return with something for him and coming back at a loss for words, heart aching as you braced yourself for baizhu’s disappointment.
“scooch forward,” you said, drawing away from him to rise back to your feet. “let me join you.”
you could hear the water shifting as he did what you asked, sloshing around in the tub. you slipped off your clothes off, your mind racing as you tried to figure out what you were going to say.
your travels to the foreign nation had been fruitless, for the most part. you had gotten in contact with a priestess from one of the islands, but you were unsure if it would lead to anything worthwhile and you didn’t want to give him any hope that wasn’t there.
without a word, you slid in the tub behind him, legs on either side of his body, the hot water stinging your skin as your body adjusted to the temperature, but you were more focused on the man in front of you. you reached forward, fingers grazing his shoulder in a silent request for him to lean back.
you felt much more at peace the moment baizhu’s skin was flush against yours—his head resting against your chest, soft green hair tickling your collarbones. you wrapped your arms around his waist, leaning your forehead down on the top of his head.
“isn’t this more comfortable?” you asked softly after a few moments of peaceful silence. your only response was a quiet hum of agreement—you knew he was waiting for an answer but you wanted to avoid the topic for as long as possible. so instead, you decided to tease him, “the door unlocked, fast asleep in the tub… if i didn’t know any better, i’d say you wanted someone to come in here and find you in a compromising position.”
your hands dipped beneath the water, the pads of your fingers drawing circles around his hipbones as you waited for him to respond.
“no one comes around at this time besides you and qiqi,” he finally said, one of his hands returning to yours and you switched to continuing the soothing circles on the back of his palm again.
his hands were always soft, frail to where yours were stronger and more calloused from years of training. you felt like you were handling fragile porcelain whenever you held him in your arms but it was a dangerous game because if you treated him too carefully, it would just be a reminder of his inevitable fate.
“speaking of,” you said, pulling your other hand from the water to play with the wet strands of hair splayed against his chest, “where is our little bird tonight? i was hoping to see her.”
“she spent the day with streetward rambler’s young disciple,” baizhu told you. “i was going to go fetch her when i was done resting.”
“i can handle that,” you offered. “it’s best to not leave the shop unattended in case of an emergency.”
a blatant excuse, you knew that and he knew that, but you figured an excuse was better than the truth—he was simply not up for running around trying to find qiqi and yaoyao.
baizhu didn’t respond. you thought he might’ve fallen asleep—his pale chest rising and falling steadily beneath your hand, breath even and relaxed. but then he shifted, turning his head to the side to look up at you.
for the first time in months, familiar gold eyes met your own, steady and searching yours. you swallowed thickly as you braced yourself for the question he was bound to finally press.
“you found nothing in inazuma.”
your throat felt tight, lips parted as you fumbled for words but you were left at a loss, as you were every time you returned with empty hands. baizhu exhaled at your reaction—the only answer he needed—shifting back around to face front, eyes sliding shut as he rested against you.
“i stopped by the yuehai pavilion before coming here, scheduled a meeting with the tianquan to make sure the political climate in fontaine is still okay before heading north. i’ll find something there, i promise.”
he suddenly looked older, the weight of your answer adding even more stress to the frail man—the bags beneath his eyes dark against his pallor, and his collarbones and ribs peaking out just a bit more than they had been before you had left.
sometimes, you were scared when you left to travel—scared that you would leave and there would be no home to return to. because your only home was him, and you’d never know if when you left, it would be your last time seeing him.
he was careful to hide how severe his pain was behind those smiles and gentle words but you could see through it. and you knew he hated that heavy gaze of yours he couldn’t escape in the days before you left to travel, but you couldn’t help yourself—terrified that one day you’d return and only have a fading memory to remember him by.
“we’ll figure this out,” you promised, not for the first time, but you never made promises you couldn’t keep. you’d figure something out even if it meant signing your soul away—you had heard rumors that the fatui of snezhnaya had made some intense advancements with the elemental energy and technology, and you figured that if anybody had ability to help baizhu, it would be them…
… but bargaining with the fatui for help could cast you as an enemy of the qixing… and it could cost your freedom, and maybe even your life. so you would go to fontaine first, and pray to the archons that you would find your answers there.
“i know,” baizhu said, giving your hand a weak squeeze as he melted back into you. you could hear in his voice that he was on the verge of dozing off, and you supposed he must have had a busy day running the pharmacy.
but before he could fall asleep, you lifted one of your hands to cup his cheek.
“i’ve been deprived of your lips for months and you’re going to make me wait another night?” you teased gently, chest light when you heard him let out an amused huff.
he tilted his head back to the side to look up at you, gold eyes lidded as they fluttered open to look at you, and you leaned your head down just a bit to steal a soft kiss.
you smiled against his lips, fingers carding gently through his damp green hair—for the first time in months you finally felt at home, and already, you dreaded having to part ways with him again. even if you knew it was for the greater good.
you pulled away too soon for your liking, but you could feel even in the way his lips moved against yours how exhausted he was and you didn’t want to keep him up any longer after having already disturbed him.
“i’ll fetch qiqi before it gets too dark,” you said quietly, pulling him back to lay against you, and he let out another hum of agreement, eyes sliding shut. “sleep, i’ll wake you before i go.”

Heyyyy! Can i request Baizhu, Gorou, Kaveh, Scaramouche, Tighnari, Xiao with a s/o emotionally unstable after someone dear (their teacher/mentor if possible) to them passed away? My teacher passed away a week ago and i've been like a broken record crying out of nowhere. And what's a better comfort than your favs comforting you :,D
Comforting you after a loved one passed away dendro + pyro ver.
english isn’t my first language, sorry for mistakes
characters: alhaitham + baizhu + kaveh + tighnari + diluc + lyney + thoma
word count: 0.4k
Tumblr media
Alhaitham
He's usually a very calm person, so when you told him about it his face didn't change, but he put his arms around you and pulled you against him. He's probably not very good at comforting with words, but he's going to let you vent and cry while he hugs you.
Tumblr media
Baizhu
He knows how badly you may be grieving, so for the first few weeks he would be by your side most of the time, giving you space if you needed it, but asking you every so often. After that he would try to keep you busy with other things.
Tumblr media
Kaveh
He would cry with you when he finds out, and if you cry too, he will cry even more. He doesn't want to be separated from you at any time, he would do everything possible to spend most hours of the day with you. Cuddling on the couch every night definitely.
Tumblr media
Tighnari
The worst thing you can do from his point of view is to lock yourself up crying all day, so he would take you out for long walks and tell you things to distract you. But if you really need to cry and talk, he'll listen to you without complaint.
Tumblr media
Diluc
He himself has already gone through such a moment a few years ago, so he would know perfectly well how you are going through these moments. He is not a person of many words, but he'd try to comfort you with his presence and small acts that cheer you up.
Tumblr media
Lyney
He's already a person who will always put on a good face and try to help you as much as possible, so when he hears about the event he would visit you just to check up on you. It will turn into daily visits where he makes sure you smile at least once.
Tumblr media
Thoma
He probably feels terrible just seeing you so down about the news. He does everything to cheer you up, make you laugh, give you massages, cook with you or just be there for you when you need him the most. He's not going anywhere unless you beg him to.

All in all, enjoy and thank you for all who love my writing, I am nothing with your love.
Tumblr media
You are an amazing adventurer— visionless, but amazing nonetheless. Others had said (your people from Sumeru), that being a visionless adventurer is like a knight without its swords, but you have proven them wrong. You cultivated multiple skills, be it in the swords, in using polearms or any weapon it is, you had also cultivated your adventuring skills such as navigation and mapping; the skills under your belt are enough to pick up top tier commissions without any hassle.
Of course, being visionless means you’re more prone to injuries, so you have to always make do with passing doctors or medicine you produce yourself using wild herbs, yet nothing beats Baizhu’s medicines. You could still remember the day you first went to his pharmacy; it was raining, you had asked the locals if there’s any place that will tend to injuries and they directed you to Bubu Pharmacy.
Once you reached the Pharmacy, you could see a little kid behind the counter and almost cursed the locals for lying but then a green haired man, with a rare white snake around his neck, emerges from the back.
“I'm sorry but we’re close dear customer, you can come over tomo—”. Baizhu took in your haggard appearance, your green cloak clung to you; the rain drops below your feet mix with red and your alarming paleness were enough to make Baizhu ran over towards you, when your knees caved in.
Next thing you knew, you’re staring at an unfamiliar ceiling and you could feel bandages wrapped around your stomach, directly below your left ribcage where you were stabbed.
“Do you want coconut milk?”.  Your eyes snapped to the pale child beside you, her eyes expressionless. You were going to ask her what’s coconut milk when the man from before came in with a pitcher.
“How are you feeling?”. You draped the blanket over you, as you sit up. You shrugged your body, trying to get a feel and as you were doing so, the doctor examines you briefly. When you realize that your body feels much better you gave him your biggest grin and a thumbs up.
“Feels great doc!”.
Then ever since, you had decided to stay in Liyue. Of course, your reasoning was mostly on how rich, historically and, literally Liyue is but you can’t possibly admit that you stayed because of the quiet and handsome doctor. You made sure to visit Bubu Pharmacy every single time you have any injuries or illnesses and over time, you realized that you had caught feelings over Baizhu. He was gentle and you were obnoxious both in your volume and your incessant flirting, it was obvious that you like the doctor.
“Baizhu? Are you here?”. You walked into the pharmacy, and there you could see him sitting beside Qiqi, instructing her on how to make the medicine. The dendro vision holder looks up at figure clad in a green cloak he knows very well and gives you a smile, his eyes crescent.
“Welcome back”. Hearing those words, some of the fatigue straining your body were lifted as you approach the counter.
“Where are you hurt again (y/n)?”. He asked, standing up and leading you to the room at the back for his patients. You pat Qiqi’s head before dragging yourself to the room, where Baizhu sat on a chair by the bed. You sat down, taking off your cloak and show him your wounds, though they’re not huge and gnarly, you have multiple cuts and slashes on your arms and legs. You let Baizhu tends to you while you tell  him stories of your adventures. Every single time, Baizhu would listen, at times he would ask questions or look at you in disbelief because how the hell did you get caught in such situations, but most of the time he would listen quietly.
He enjoys listening to you, your presence brought him joy and serenity but he could never tell you. Not with the illness he has, he can’t let himself like someone to much or even fall in love.
But, you were so… loveable. Your flirtations were constant but you were never scared to show him how much you love him. He was also amazed at the fact that you’re vision less yet you’re so fearless, unlike him. That’s part of you that he envies so much, because unlike him, shackled by an illness, incurable and unknown, you’re so free and filled with life.
Once he’s done with his treatment, you rummage through your bag and took out a white string decorated with various colors of green stones. You hand it to Baizhu and he examined it, trying to understand what is it.
“Its for your hair”. You said, as he stared at it, the stones were beautiful and it glimmers under the light. It’s too beautiful for him but he knew that rejecting your gift would be useless. All the gifts and letters from when you remembered him on your journey were kept safe in a box. He smiled and thank you for your gift, making a mental note to keep the hair tie in the box later.
“Can I tie it for you?”. You whispered, a blush staining your cheeks as you gaze at him with those eyes filled with adoration. A pang of guilt reaches his heart when his mouth almost utter rejection. Its not that he dislikes your gifts, he was just afraid that the feelings he kept safe in his own box would burst open. He nodded and smile, as you give him a grin, and gently reaches towards his braid.
With a slightly shaky hand, you reach towards the end of his braid, unconsciously rubbing his hair between your fingers. You untie the one on his hair and with skillful hands, you tie the beautiful gems around his hair. Once you’re done, you show it to him and Baizhu took the end of his hair into his hands and inspects your work. His green hair compliments the stones well and he thank you. Feeling the heavy tension in the air, you jokingly asked him out for dinner in which he, time and time again rejects you. Telling you that there’s a policy he has to follow as a doctor, and you only laugh and nodded, though deep in your heart, you understand the ‘policy’ were merely sweet words.
Then you were off to your next adventurer.
It was another rainy day, and you were back from your adventure. It has been two weeks since you last seen him and you missed him so much. Once you reach the pharmacy, there was a heaviness in the air, as if telling you to be careful. From the counter you could see, Qiqi, reading on her little book, the notebook you gave her the last time you were there. You smiled as you ask.
“Where’s the doc?”. The pale child points to the back and you give her a pat as a thank you. You went in and there Baizhu was organising his medicine, you cough, indicating your presence as his head whips towards you. You give him a huge smile, and usually he would give you his but this time, he nodded curtly. Your heart stinged at his cold welcome but shrug the thought off.
“Please sit down on the bed”. Something is amiss because Baizhu would usually say “welcome back” but here he is, tending to your wounds silently, a somber look on his face. You tried making jokes but he only nodded while focusing on his work. For the first time, the patient’s room were silent and you could only stare at him when you noticed that he was not wearing the hair tie you gave him.
A sharp pain reaches your heart but you shook your head, trying to make excuses. Once he was finish, you thank him as he mutters a no problem. You palm the smooth gem in your pocket, wondering if it’s the right timing to give it to him. The thing is, you have to give him because you are going for a very long journey, a journey for him.
“Hey Baizhu, are you free after this? Let’s go have dinner together yeah?”. Baizhu stares at your smiling face and shook his head.
“Sorry (y/n), I can’t go. I have something to do”.
“Aww come on!”. You approach him, pulling at his forearm. “We haven’t eaten together for so long! Besides there’s something I wanna gi—”.
“Just stop”. Baizhu pulls his arm from you, trying to walk away. It has been a long day, rude customers and his painful illness has been consistently attacking him throughout the day. He can’t afford to flirt and entertain you right now.
“I’m sorry Baizhu if I was too forceful, but the thing is I have to g—”.
“Stop it! I told you I have something to do!” Baizhu raises his voice as you step back, shocked by his sudden anger. You were going to apologise when he turns around, face red and filled with anger.
“I am so tired of you! Your incessant flirtings are so distracting and I… I can’t afford to be distracted!”. He clutched his chest, hissing as he continues.
“Why can’t you just stop? I have an illness to cure and you’re just…”. Baizhu sighs, trying to control his emotions and keeping his anger at bay. He knew, that you don’t deserve to be the one receiving his anger but everything is too much.
And you? Your head hung low, lips trembling as your nails dug into your palms. You took in a deep breath and look up, meeting his eyes as you give him a forced smile.
“I understand Baizhu.. I’m sorry again”. You whisper as you walk past him, and out of the room. Baizhu could only see your green robe flutter away as he curse at himself. Baizhu’s hand reaches his head, and fisted his hair, frustrated at the turns of event. He needs to apologise, he thought.
So he quickly get out of the room, trying to reach you again but as he passes the counter, he saw a stone. A green stone, he recognizes as aventurine. He knew instantly that it’s from you and guilt swarmed him all over. The meaning of the stone sinks into him, along with the relationship he denied ever since.
---
Months had pass since your disappearance, and his remorse had attached to his heart like a lock. On the second month, he knew that something was wrong. You never took this long and even if you do, he would have receive a letter. No letters came, days and night waiting for your letter, for your fluttering green cloak; yet nothing came and after the third month, he decided that this time; he’s going to find you, apologise, bring you out for dinner and continue the routine the both of you once had, between a patient and a doctor.
So Baizhu set out for Sumeru, your hometown. Once he reaches Sumeru it was already night, and he believe that nothing good will come from rushing, so he check into a place to stay. When the morning comes, he asks one of the local for a place to have some coffee, and the local suggested Puspa Café.
The aroma of coffee reaches his nose when he opens the door to the café. He looks around, trying to find a place to seat when he saw a familiar robe. His heart beat increases, excitement and relief pumps through his vein. Without much thought, he reaches towards the robed figure sitting down and places a hand, startling the figure.
“(y/n)?...”. The figure turns around and its not you. “Sorry, I thought…”
“Doctor Baizhu?”.  Baizhu’s face changes into confusion, wondering how someone from Sumeru would know his name. He nodded, when the robed person, a lady in her teenage years smiles and offers him to sit.
“I know you! Master (y/n) talked about you all the time; I thought my ears would fall off. How are you, Doctor Baizhu?”.
“I…I am doing fine. I’m sorry but Master (y/n)? are you…”
“Yes, I’m Master (y/n) apprentice! Thank you for always tending to my master’s injuries. Master told me that you’re an amazing doctor and—”.
“I am sorry for interrupting but do you know where (y/n) is? It has been months…”. The girls face turns into sadness, the light she had, dimmed when she realize that Baizhu didn’t know. She stood up, confusing Baizhu who’s follows her movement.
“Come.” Baizhu in his confusion, follows despite his instinct telling him to stop. An instinct that he’s going to get hurt.
The girl lead him to a place where vast field of greenery feasts along his eyes, a single tree stood around it and a small house a bit faraway from it.
“Go to that tree, I’ll come with you soon, I need to get something”.
Baizhu nods in understanding as he walks towards the tree. He didn’t see it at first; the tombstone was covered by the tree.
May the shade bring serenity and peace for the brave soul beneath it, (y/n)
Baizhu read the etchings on the stone over and over again. Trying to understand what was etched and his brain had accepted it, but his heart can’t seem to fathom the thought that, that’s your name written there. That under this tree is you, that the (y/n), his (y/n) is gone. He had to held onto the tree, sliding down as his trembling hands reaches for your tomb stone.
“Master left you this”. The girl said, as she gives Baizhu a brown box and left him to look into the contents of it. Baizhu holds the box, somehow heavy despite the contents only being a piece of letter and an unfinished bracelet, one aventurine missing from it. Baizhu could feel his chest tightening, as he opens the letter.
To my most, dearest Baizhu,
If you received this letter then that must mean that I’m gone. Now, now don’t you cry your handsome face off! Only smiles and laughter should pass those lips. I’m sorry for not coming back to the pharmacy for so long, I was in search for these aventurines. You see, a friend of mine told me that these stones have healing properties and I thought that it would be great for you! Though you’re a doctor, I’ve seen how frail your body is and well… I’m not a doctor so I can’t create a potion for it but I’m an adventurer! Please wear them and I pray that these stones can ease your pain, albeit a little. Baizhu…may I call you my love here? It doesn’t matter anyways; I'm dying so I will. Baizhu, my love, you held my heart in your palms ever since you wrapped those bandages on my body. I’m sorry for all my doings that annoys or disturbs you, it was not my intention love. I am so sorry. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you all this in person but I am a coward and my body is not strong enough to travel back to Liyue, but please. Please Baizhu, don’t you dare blame yourself, you have been a light, a love though unrequited but a love I received through your soft touches and tender words. So please, live a long, healthy life for me and continue helping others. The letter has gotten too long, I’ll wrap it up here. Thank you Baizhu, I love you. I love you. I love you.
P/s: Pat Qiqi’s head for me!
Baizhu held the letter to his chest, his tears had long wash over his face from the beginning of the letter. You’re gone. You’re gone and you had loved him, and he knew but you… you never knew the love he held for you. He loves you too and he could only whisper to the tree of his love for you.
“(y/n), oh my (y/n) … I’m sorry…”. He wailed into the wind, the pain of your death triumph the pain raging through his fatigued body. In his tears, with a trembling hand he attaches the last aventurine onto the bracelet as he ties it on his left wrist.
And it was instant, the stone glow, and the pain he felt in his body dissipates, and he knew, that it worked, that though he can’t understand, but he knew its more than the stone. This final gift of yours were filled with so much love, it healed. He stares at your tombstone; a small smile grows on his face.
Yet why does the pain in his heart stays? And why is it growing? That will be a question that lingers along with him in life.

Weary of searching for immortality, Baizhu is offered a once in a life time opportunity to study with Il Dottore. The result is something... less than human
This is mostly an excuse for Bauzhu whump with eventual morally grey Baizhu and slightly less dark Dottore
Bonus points if Baizhu gets more snake traits

Hello! Thank you so much for the request. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed my eating disorder works! I apologize for the long wait.. I’m very in motivated at the moment.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Prompt: their lover had an eating disorder in the past and they relapse after being overwhelmed with stress.
Characters: Childe/Tartaglia, Dainsleif, Baizhu
Type: angst with comfort, fluff, scenario.
!! Warnings: mentions of self harm !!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Childe/Tartaglia
Childe had been invited by Zhongli to go out for some tea, and he didn’t want to leave you home so he asked if you wanted to come aswell!Childe and Zhongli were enjoying some food along with their tea, yet you weren’t eating any of the small delicacies.  Childe was too busy indulging in his tea to notice your lack of eating, but Zhongli quickly noticed.  He watched as you stared at the food with both desire and disgust.?”Are you ok Miss?” Zhongli  questioned you gently which gathered Childe attention as he looked in your direction and stoped eating.
You seemed startled that Zhongli noticed the abnormality within your eating. The silence in the room was getting increasingly loud.  Childe finally spoke after a long silence, “ love, is there a problem with the food.” Childers face grew serious after you continued to stay silent. Zhongli noticed the seriousness between the both of you and dismissed himself to give the both of you some space.
After the older man had left the room another sound of a chair being pulled out hit your ears as Childe swiftly approached you and gently put a hand on your shoulder.  “Eat now.” The grip on your hii ok under became tighter as Childers eyebrows furrowed deeper. “Eat now.” Childe demanded your cooperation.Childe was clearly getting ordered and it seemed he realized the impact of this situation on you.  “Love, please just a few bites you don’t need to eat much. Please? I’ll buy you a gift. No budget?” E sounded hopeful, but when you failed to respond once agaain desperation took over him .
He grabbed a small piece of food from your plate and put it up to your lips. “I love you so much please just eat,  I feel crushed when you hurt yourself and it makes my love feel like it’s not enough. It would mean so much if you could just eat a few bites. Your pipes slowly but surely parted lightly and the taste food flooded your mouth. You gagged a little before swallowing. A smile took control of Childes face as he jumped up and hugged you tightly. “I’m so proud of you.”
Dainsleif
Dainsleif and you were constantly traveling through Teyvat. This was a lot at first the stress of constantly moving around was too much on you. It was just a regular night Dainsleif had cooked dinner and you were both sitting together. You picked up your chopsticks that was filled with food and you just stared at the contents of your chopsticks. You were so hungry yet your stomach quivered at the thought of eating what was on held by your chopsticks, Dainsleif quickly noticed your disgust and it worried him quite a bit.
“ Are you feeling well?” He knows about your past and he knew it could be a possibility of why you had such a hatred in your eyes while just looking at some food.
“Are you stressed?” Dainsleif was being as gentle as possible, he felt bad enough he had been forcing you to travel around Teyvat. You nodded hesitantly biting your lip. The man before you let out a sad sigh before, giving you a soft look. “You know how much I love you and I would gladly take a pause if you
need me to.”’ His words were so loving and concerned that tears quickly gathered in your eyes. “After you take a few bites we’ll decide when we’re leaving this city.” Dainsleif sounded so encouraging  you just had  to take a just a few bites, but as you realized how hungry you are you ate more.
Baizhu
Since he’s very versed in medical knowledge he almost immediately noticed that lack of food you were eating. He was extremely worried about your health but he wanted to confront you when he actually knew what was wrong with you. So he watched you intently from a far so that you wouldn’t notice what was going on.
One day, during dinner he suddenly brought up the topic mentioning that he had noticed that you weren’t eating very much with concern covering his regular tone of voice. “Sweetie, why are you not eating?”
He tried to make his voice and is curious as possible even though he already knew your answer, it was sort of a test to see if you would honestly tell him. You were clearly shocked, but you said nothing as you looked down at the food in front of you with disappointment in your eyes. You looked back up with the man and he had a small frown on his face. “ of course I already know, but it would mean a lot more to me if you told me.” He was very genuine in just having concern for your health.
“ we both know how much A mortality means to me but living forever without you just wouldn’t be right, that’s why I need you to be healthy and happy. And the fact that you’re not eating worries me.” He gave you the most stoic face you’ve ever seen on the man. Living with you is so important to him, therefore your health matters. “Please could you just eat a little it would mean so much to me and you know how unhealthy it is to not eat…” The strong disappointment in his voice made you feel your own sort of disappointment in your self. You glanced at the food once more before deciding to eat.

out of time // baizhu
cw: mentions of character death, anxiery & ilness, fainting, coughing blood, probably ooc
Tumblr media
“You pushed yourself too far again... “ you sighed, carefully putting Baizhu on the bed, after finally reaching your home from a long way of supporting him while walking, almost dragging him here. “I’m fine, please don’t worry about me darling.” Baizhu answered, giving you a small smile as he laid on the bed, trying to hide his exhaustion.
“Really? You fainted at work today and you’ve been coughing blood, don’t tell me you’re fine.” you told him, a hint of sternness in your voice, trying to hide the anxiety and sadness. You weren’t mad at him, of course you weren’t, you were just terrified.
Baizhu’s illness wasn’t something you could just ignore and forget about, not when it was something that affected your daily lives and it was worsening with each passing day. Everything that could be done, had been done, every herb, every doctor, anything legal you could think of, you already had tried it but it wasn’t getting any better.
The day Baizhu told you about his illness was a day you couldn’t forget about, hearing that the love of your life is terribly sick, how would one even take that? You didn’t want him to die, not like this, not when he was suffering and battling it every single day.
“Just–, stay with me, please?” Baizhu asked, not wanting to be scolded by you because he wasn’t being careful. Because he was, he didn’t do anything to push him past his limits, it was just getting terrible. “I– I’m sorry.” you mumbled, sitting next to him on the floor, resting your head at the side of the bed while looking at him, fighting back the tears. “Hey, at least I’m not dead yet.” he broke the silence, gently grabbing your hand, trying to crack a joke to lighten the mood. It wasn’t like him to act this way, it wasn’t his usual attitude, but even Baizhu couldn’t hide his sadness.
“You’re an idiot ‘Zhu.” you fake laughed, trying to fight back the tears while thinking about all the possibilities. “You know you can cry, don’t act so tough now.” he told you, gently rubbing the back of your hand, knowing it was kind of hypocritic of him to say, especially when he put on a tough act every day like he wasn’t suffering.
“I just– is there really nothing we can’t do?” you mumbled, the tears rolling downs your cheeks seconds later, the attempted quiet sobs filling the room seconds later. “L-Like, what if we contact the fatui? That’s our last hope right?” you continued, knowing the weight before your words but you were desperate.
Ready to sacrifice anything if it meant Baizhu could live and you could end his suffering.
“Darling– no, no, no..” Baizhu interrupted, giving your hand a light squeeze. “Don’t say stuff like that, that wouldn’t be worth it, they’re dangerous.” he told you, ignoring the fact that at one point he thought about it too.
“I just–, I don’t want to lose you.” you cried, wiping your tears away, hoping they’d stop soon. “Well, we can make memories while it lasts, can’t we?” Baizhu suggested, carefully sitting up and lightly pulling you with him, so that now, you were face to face.
A deep sigh went past your lips, locking your eyes with his, giving him a weak smile. Why was life so cruel?
“You’re beautiful, like always.” Baizhu complimented you, softly pecking your lips before pulling you into a deeper kiss, knowing you’d think about everything negative if he didn’t distract you. Gently, you kissed back, calming down a bit until you tasted a salty taste against your lips. Slowly pulling back and resting your forehead against his, noticing the tears staining his cheeks, enough to make you cry again, it was a bittersweet kiss.
“Aren’t I pathetic? One of the best pharmacists in Liyue, yet I can’t even cure myself.”

Tumblr media
albedo ★↷
as a synthetic human he did not understand emotions too well. and going into a relationship with him you understood this and were going to try your best to help him learn. and he really appreciated the help.
but sometimes he would throw all he learnt about human emotions with you out the window in the pursuit of a new experiment. which was fine because he always looked so happy doing them. but when he would not talk to you, for one time a month on end and stayed holed up in dragonspine without letting you visit. rightfully it bothered you.
and when you tried to voice your concerns he simply said that this was his work and you should respect that. this, rightfully, annoyed you to no end. and then ensued the argument that made you leave dragonspine and decide in a petty act that two could play at that game.
but very quickly albedo noticed your presence or now lack of. normally you would accompany him at the small camp near his lab in dragonspine. keeping him company and giving him some very good memories. but now that you weren't there? he felt slightly empty.
he realised he had been scummy towards you. and that you were always so patient and understanding with him that he eventually took it for granted. and he knew he had to make it up to you somehow. as he wouldn't know what to do without you in his life.
so leaving his research he headed back to mondstadt. he assembled what he remembered were some of your favourite things. and set off towards your residence. and luckily for him you were still at home at that time.
you didn't want to open the door. to be slightly more petty. but you knew that would get you nowhere, so with a heavy sigh you opened the door. you would be lying if you said you didn't miss him a slight bit. and immediately you were overwhelmed by the apology and gifts albedo had given to you.
he had promised you that he would never do that again and that he missed you dearly. and truth be told you missed him aswell. so, after setting the gifts to the side, you hugged your lover and he embraced you back. leaving the air filled with heartfelt apologies and promises that would not be broken.
tartaglia childe ★↷
fittingly, childe could sometimes act like a child. not often as most the time you really enjoyed your time with childe and loved knowing that you two were an actual thing. but sometimes things could change that.
and arguments were some of those things. but you knew that it came from a place of care and love. but that still could do nothing to calm you in the middle of an argument. as some fights stemmed from actual fights.
he loved getting into fights and testing his skills against people he thought would be good to fight against. but when he came home looking quite roughed up you always worried. i meam why would you not worry?
but alot of the time you would patch him up and try to get him to tone it down a little before he seriously got hurt but he didn't listen. like a stubborn child. he always assured you he would be fine but that did little to soothe your worries, especially because you knew his line of work.
so when he came back rather roughed up you tried one more time to tell him to tone it down but this time he snapped back and this lead to an argument. and that lead to you throwing him the bandages and wound cleaning stuff before leaving for a cool down.
he immediately realized his mistake and tried to quickly bandage himself up to go after you and assure you were safe. you hadn't gone far before you heard him call out for you as you pretend not to hear him. before he caught up and immediately apologized.
he knew he had alot to make up for but the best he could do now is give you his best apology for his recent outburst and offer you his comfort in the embrace of a hug which you took. you would talk more back at home.
baizhu ★↷
as the current owner of bubu pharmacy, he had to do alot if work that was expected though and you knew that. however that couldn't help but raise concern within you as it nade you worry that overworking may flare up his disease.
and as he's said before its hard for physicians to cure themselves. so if his symptoms flared up he just had to lock himself in a room and wait for it to pass with only you and qiqi being allowed in to care for him. and you didn't like the fact that there was no way to treat this.
so you wanted to try and help but found no luck so far, but you noticed it would flare up if he overworked himself. you wouldn't bring it up when he was ill as that just seemed to be in poor taste, he should just rest and recover. but a while after he was better you brought it up.
but unfortunately what you didn't know was that it had been a difficult day at the pharmacy. so in short it turned into an argument. you both knew this was pointless but you couldn't stop. that was until he had said something that made tears brim along your eyes.
he immediately caught his mistake. he knew you were just looking out for him and he snapped at you for that. so he stopped saying anything and opened his arms for a hug, if you felt like it as you too knew he didn't mean it but he understood if you didn't want. he had hurt you after all.
but you took the hug. you wanted his comforting embrace to soothe you. and as he professed his apologies the sting of his comment wore off slightly. while it still hurt you knew that he didn't mean it. baizhu would make sure that you two talked about this properly later.
heizou ★↷
as a detective, he was often known to think quite rationally and always come up with the best solution. however sometimes he struggled to do that when faced with arguments.
arguments were still rare none the less, but whenever they did happen you two normally would get over them with little to no difficulty. or sometimes they just weren't meant to be dealt with so easily. like if it wasn't the right time to have that kind of conversation.
and sometimes it would lead to harsh comments being thrown about carelessly. but they would be caught immediately. and upon him giving a rather harsh and untrue insult towards you. you stood in shock that this it what it had lead to.
and he immediately realised what he said and quickly brought you into his embrace, apologizing more than he ever has in his life but it still didn't feel enough. eventually you two had calmed down but he still felt as if he had hurt you in some way.
but right now all you wanted to do was to cuddle in the embrace of your lover and fall asleep. you two would be able to talk about this better when you were well rested.
alhaitham ★↷
naturally he was quite a reserved, often described as cold person. harsh by kaveh. but no matter what you had managed to break down his facade and make your way it his heart. however even if things went smoothly some parts of the relationship really made you wonder if you had truly become someone to him.
arguments could happen over anything. and that was inevitable that you two would encounter some. but what you soon realised that your lover wasn't great at dealing with them. either ignoring them or leaving during an argument trying to avoid it. this really didn't help.
and that had just happened. it was a small petty argumemt but as soon as it arose, instead of talking about it like normal people, your boyfriend put up his stupid uncaring facade again and turned heel and left. leaving you frustrated and kaveh feeling sympathy for someone as great as you ending up with him. personally as your best friend he thought you could do better.
so with much frustration you tried to calm yourself down by talking to kaveh, reading or finishing whatever you had going on. until it became noticeably late and with no sign of alhaitham, you scoffed to yourself before getting ready for bed.
maybe you would sleep on the couch to really dig in the fact that you were angry with him. not that you thought he would pick up on it.
for someone so smart he didn't know how to read people very well. alhaitham got back later then he expected. and noticed you immediately asleep on the couch. he knew sometimes he was being ridiculous with how he dealt with arguments. so he got ready for bed.
but before he got into bed, he went out the the couch you laid upon, carefully picking you up and bringing you back to bed. as he tucked you in laying next to you, promising to himself that not only would he apologise in the morning but make an effort to do better for you as he reckons if you ever left him he would feel quite lost without you.
kaveh ★↷
he would like to think that he was a rational person. and for the most part he was but its funny how anger can cloud over people's judgement. as arguments with him were rare and often always solved immediately.
but sometimes if he was running late in the mornings he would start getting really frustrated and a simple comment from you asking if you could help with anything lead to him snapping at you and leaving for work in a foul mood and leaving you quite upset.
but throughout the day all he could think about was you and how upset you looked. you had only offered to help him and if he didn't have a go at you he probably would've got to the akadeymia earlier. and it was as if the archons were playing some cruel prank on him.
he had to stay later to finish off something. great. all he wanted was to get home to you and apologize like his life depended on it. he never did like having arguments last like this. but by the time he got home it was quite late out. so he didn't expect you to be up.
and you weren't but that's fine. he didn't like knowing you two were going to sleep with an unresolved argument but he didn't want to wake you up when you looked so peaceful. so he slipped into bed next to you and brought your back into his chest. he would apologize in the morning.
neuvillette ★↷
it wasn't quite the common knowledge that he struggled with more human emotions. sure a few people knew, for example you and focalors but to anyone else it was none of there business. so unfortunately arguments with him were interesting.
they could go two ways, you both reached an understanding in what was wrong and how to fix it or neuvillette couldn't see it from your perspective and sometimes even saying particularly harsh comments unknowing of how much it hurt you.
and that's where you two were now. you realised you were fighting a losing battle and your lover simply couldn't understand what you were trying to get across and instead said rather hurtful things. so before you said something you regretted you decided to go take a walk and clear your head before talking again with him.
he was shocked at first that you had left, but he rationalised with himslef and assumed you would come back. but on your walk you had gone into a trance of thoughts, wandering aimlessly through the illuminated streets of fontaine. losing track of time until the first drop of water splashed upon you from above.
great, just when you're mood was starting to improve it was going to rain. you normally didn't mind but now? really not what you wanted. guess the hydro dragon was just as upset as you were a while back. so you decided to head back.
in all honesty you were starting to miss your lover. stuff like this was bound to happen but maybe there was a different way of finding ways round it that you could talk about?
as you arrived home you were met with dead air. silence. you slipped into the shared bedroom to see him asleep. not that you could tell well from the lighting but you swore he had been crying.
missing the embrace of your lover, you quickly changed into your nightwear and slipped yourself into bed next to your lover. and instinctively he pulled you into his arms as you reciprocated the action. you two would talk it out in the morning.
wriothesley ★↷
noticeably to you, for someone of his status he could have quite a contradicting personality behind doors. not a different one but a more relaxed one as he let off all the pressure from the day and spend his time with you.
but sometimes that lax attitude dripped into some squabbles or arguments that you two would share. sometimes he would even simply brush it off and say its nothing to worry about. and that's how he now ended up messing up at work and being noticeably distracted because all he thought of was your distraught face from this morning.
he had started a fued with you over something small and insignificant that barely mattered to anyone. but he let himself escalate it and now he had left for his work and you had left for yours in the middle of the argument to avoid being late. and all he wanted to do was to go find you and apologize, if he maybe even had that chance anymore.
and you weren't fairing to well, not from guilt but from anger. he had yet again brushed off another argument he started - not that brushing it off was his fault you would've had to leave for work soon anyway. but it just stuck with you. and you were getting tired of it.
and to your surprise, right as your work finished and you left to head for home feeling bad that you hoped he wasn't there just yet, wriothesley stood outside waiting for you. favourite flowers in hand. the walk home was silent.
but as you got home the urge just to hide in his embrace grew stronger and without thinking just as you two stepped inside you wrapped your arms around him. tears brimming your vision. and he was more than willing to return a comforting embrace as he professed his apologies. this time he truly was going to try better for your sake and the relationships sake.

HOW YOU LOVE THE GENSHIN MEN!
im in love... with someone—ALBEDO, xiao, childe, venti, baizhu
Everytime you glance at each other is a beautiful moment. He was a majestic being. You knew he wouldn't love you back, but every conversation, moments with him at your side are enough. You wouldn't want to ruin what you both already had for the selfishness in your heart.
You see him at night, busy with tasks, wondering how you can fit at his life. They were full of passion, doing their duty, busy with it as their work fills their life. Maybe it was best admiring from afar. But when they see you deep in the night, eyes on him. A gentle sigh of glee can be seen from his lips.
Maybe you do have a chance..
who's in love... with someone—cyno, TIGHNARI, kaeya, ayato
When he first spoke of his tiny crush, your heart came crashing to the floor. Now you help him arrange love letters, practice confessions. And in those practices, you hear those flowery words, one might think that are from poems and books, but you can't seem to shake the bitter feeling all of this weren't meant for you.
Both of them were beautiful, they deserve each other. You were just an empty shell compared to him. He was smart, he was diligent, he was perfect. And now you saw your greatest love in the aisle, waiting for someone that will never be you.
that someone will never be me—alhaitham, scaramouche, diluc, PANTALONE, dainslief
He never cared about you. You remember every scenario and all he did was spare a cold glance. Why did you expect... how can you expect. He was someone from another world, unlike an utter hopeless romantic. You can't confess when you already know the answer. He won't choose you, he'll always choose his own.
That did not make himself selfish, that made him strong. He had enough of hopes, and just like that he had enough of you. You were a fleeting fantasy, he was making reality. He was already going through too much, you can't add that. Not when there is no possibility he'll even know you past your name.
that someone is finally me—itto, THOMA, kaveh, heizou, kazuha
He loves you. He LOVES you. Your heart beating at his confession, your long time crush, also shares the same butterflies, the same rosy cheeks when one draws near, the same flower garden with bees and rainbows when both of you are alone. They share the same feelings as you. And as an impromtu kiss was made, in the pale moonlight. You know all is right in this chaotic world.
He who gives you love letters, he who imagines every moment to be with you until his last breath. Who will love you and you back it. It was a fairytale, your life is a dream with him. And as he kissed you in the forehead you slept, knowing that a new tomorrow will come with you by his side.

can We get a very physically hurt/half dying reader x the healers? And by bbg’s wanderer and albedo? Like when we get so hurt that we almost die?🩸💀☠️🩸☠️💀🩸☠️💀🩸☠️💀🩸☠️💀
Absolutely!! I'm not particularly sure which healers you meant though so I hope this is okay and I know Tighnari technically isn't a healer but he's a canon doctor so I figured he could also be in this! If there's characters you wanted to see that weren't in this don't be afraid to ask for them! Also so sorry this took so long!

{༻~Readers injured~༺}
CW: Some gore because of injury description, it's my first time writing Kokomi so I'm sorry if it's not the best!, angst and fluff <3
(Includes: Albedo, Baizhu, Tighnari, Wanderer, and Kokomi!)
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
𑁍༄Albedo:
"Just stay awake."
Albedos words rang in your ears as he wrapped his arms around you tightly, carrying you through the thick white snow to the nearest heat source in hopes of saving you. Your body was already limp against him because of the cold and it made his heart pound in his chest, he was scared...terrified and right now the only thing keeping you alive, your life was in his hands...and he knew it.
He kept telling you it was going to be alright, promising you nothing bad would happen, but it didn't matter...after all you could barely hear him over the loud screams of the wind, each one smacking you both with whips of freezing cold air, some of them harsh enough to make him stumble backwards. You were starting to loose hope, tears staining your cheeks and stinging as they froze against your skin, were you really going to be alright?
Suddenly Albedo fell forward onto his knees, setting you on the ground and pushing you into what appeared to be a cave, just big enough for the both of you. He didn't waste a moment, crawling in after you once he had removed his coat and covering you with it like it was a blanket, his hands busying themself with the start of a fire. The second the flames appeared he pulled you into his lap, forcing you to heat up...and doing everything in his power to save you, the love of his life.
𑁍༄Baizhu:
"I'm with you now, don't worry dearest...it's all going to be alright."
Baizhu held your hand tightly, his fingers intertwined with yours while Changsheng used her gifts to perform the ritual...draining his life force right from his body...so you could live to see the next day. If you had been able to stop him...to keep him from shortening his life to lengthen yours, you would have...but you were so weak from your injuries...you could barely keep your eyes open. If he didn't do this...you would have died.
"Changsheng..." He simply said the serpents name, but even in your dazed state you could tell he wanted details...he wanted confirmation you'd be okay and he wouldn't rest till he knew, even as he was rattled with coughs...he had to know if you were going to make it. "Baizhu...they will be alright, your life force wasssss enough. Rest with them now...you both need it."
Baizhu nodded, crawling carefully into the bed with you so you could rest together...his ears tuned in to your breathing, listening for any signs of trouble and kissing your head while you drifted off to sleep.
𑁍༄Tighnari:
"Don't die on me now...you're far to important for me to loose."
You could taste blood on your lips, metallic and coppery...dripping down your chin in bright red streaks, all the while you clutched your stomach, hunched over in the most excruciating pain you'd ever felt in your entire life. Your body was riddled with bruises and cuts, your insides screaming at you for medical attention as you frantically scanned the area around you for the one person that you knew could save you, "Tighnari! H-help!"
Suddenly big blue ears twitched in your direction, his movements quick and calculated as he hurried to you, taking down anything that got in his way while you fell to your knees. He could tell this was serious and he didn't wast a single second, as soon as he was close enough you were getting bandaged, his senses on high alert just in case a enemy got to close. "You know when I said, give them a beating, I didn't mean to include yourself."
You couldn't stop yourself from chuckling, which hurt...but his sarcasm...it also made you feel better
𑁍༄Wanderer:
"You'll be okay, you have to...y-you can't leave me."
Wanderer couldn't even think correctly, his arms holding you so carefully...like your body was made of the most fragile of material in the world...all the while your crimson red blood dripped down his clothes. His emotions going hay wire and leaving him on a roller coaster, fear like he'd never felt before, anger burning in him like a raging fire and most of all..the lack of understanding.
If someone had went after him...that he would have understood...he would have defended himself, he would have fought against them and he most likely would have won, but who...who the hell would attack you.. and why? Why couldn't he have been there to keep you safe? "Please...I...I love you and I know I don't say it enough because of my stupid pride but I love you and you're not allowed to die on me because some stupid jerk attack you." He hugged you tighter as he spoke before bursting through the doors of Tighnaris house and quickly laying you down on the bed, his hand intertwined with yours even when everyone told him to leave.
He wouldn't let you wake up alone...no matter what he'd be there.
𑁍༄Kokomi:
"Just...breath."
Kokomis hands rested softly on your chest...a faint blue light seeping from the cracks of her fingers while she used her vision to heal your wounds and you tried desperately to keep breathing like she'd instructed you to...,but despite her incredible powers, you were in so much pain...each breath threatened to be your last one.
"It's going to be okay...I'll have you patched up in no time, just concentrate on me...I'll save you, I promise." She leaned in close, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead, her sweet calming aura making you feel warm as you struggled to keep your eyes open. That warmth spread all across your body, as if she had hugged you with all the love she could give and just when you'd thought you were going to take your last breath, that love made all the pain fade away.
Your injuries healing till they were nothing more than scratches and your fear replaced with happiness...gratitude. The two of you shared a sweet kiss before she had to hurry away to help someone else.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

◇ unrequited love ◇
Tumblr media
-> how would they react when they realize that you, their crush, are in love with someone else?
(mostly angst!)
Tumblr media
Distances themselves from you
Alhaitham, Dainsleif, Ayato, Albedo, Cyno
They feel that it's the practical thing to do. There's no use in going after you if you're interested in someone else. Nor would they want to stay by your side, watching as you look at someone else with the love and affection that they wished you'd given them. It would be foolish to willingly endure such things.
Still wants to be friends with you
Kazuha, Thoma, Zhongli, Baizhu, Gorou
They know you're in love with someone else, but that doesn’t mean that they have to leave you. They'd still want to be friends. And they swear to themselves that they'll try not to make anything awkward.
Though your eyes are set on someone else, you're still the one whom they adore and care for. If they can at least be there for you, support you, and keep you smiling, that's good enough for them.
Acts as if it's nothing to them
Kaeya, Xiao, Diluc, Tighnari, Scaramouche
He'll try to act as he normally does around you and would simply try to shrug it off. That's just how things are, aren't they? He can't make you love him, and so he tells himself he can easily get over you. You were just a silly little crush anyway.
Yet, with the way his heart wrenches each time he sees you smile so tenderly at the one whom you adore, seeing how you fawn over them, face aglow, and the way he sometimes has to excuse himself because of it makes it clear that you weren't "little" or "silly" to him at all. He loves you terribly and wishes he didn't.
Tries to show off
Childe, Itto
If he proves that he's better than the one you've set your eyes on, then your attention should switch to him, right? He believes that you deserved to be with someone great and someone who was going to love you deeply and properly take care of you, after all.
Needless to say, he's still confident. He thinks that you're still fair game if you're not technically with that person yet. If there’s still a chance, then he’ll take it (unless you’ve told him to go away). So he's not going to give up on you. He's just gonna try harder to gain your affection.
Confesses to you
Venti, Heizou, Kaveh
He knows he'd regret it if he never admitted his feelings for you, told you what he loves about you, and told you just how much he adores you. Yes, he knows that it's gonna be awkward, but he already regrets that he hadn't confessed sooner. And he's always thinking that if he had, then maybe he would have had a better chance with you.
Frankly, he's prepared for whatever outcome he may face, but at least he'll be able to find some release and might be able to move on if you still reject him.

Tumblr media
can you imagine the gut wrenching pain of knowing that you are about to take your last breath in your lover's arms?
can you imagine the ache in your heart as you feel the life slipping away from you, the unbearable pain of leaving behind the one you love the most in the world. this is not how you imagined the way your life would be ending, but fate has brought you to this moment, and there is nothing you can do but surrender to it?
as you look into your lover's eyes, you see the agony and desperation in their gaze. they are holding on to you tightly, as if they were trying to keep you from leaving this world if they just hold on hard enough. thinking that if they held onto you tightly, the cruel gods wouldn't take you, the universe wouldn't take you. but you know that it's time to let go.
your lover's face becomes a blur as tears cloud your vision. you try to speak, but the words won't come out. the pain in your chest intensifies, and you know that your time is running out. you feel a sense of regret for all the things you didn't do and all the words left unsaid. you wish you could go back and make things right, but it's too late now.
and in your final moments, you think about all the things you wished you could have done differently. you wish you had told your lover how much they meant to you more often, but now.. it's too late.
your lover's arms are the only thing that brings you comfort in your final moments. the warmth of their embrace and the sound of their voice soothe your soul yet hurts you so much, their cracking voice, the way they're hyperventilating, the way their whole body is shaking, the way they look at you with such.. scared and confused eyes. you feel safe and loved. But as much as their presence helps ease the pain, it also magnifies it. the thought of leaving them behind is too much to bear.
at first, they're screaming, wailing, begging for you to stay awake, begging the gods to not take you away from him. their hot and angry tears dropping onto your clothes, their tears seeping into your clothes, forming wet splotches.
but as your breathing becomes shallow and ragged, your lover leans in closer to you, some what accepting the fate, whispering words of comfort and love. you can feel their tears falling on your face as they hold you tighter, not wanting to let go. but eventually, they have to accept that it's time to say goodbye.
as you feel your life slipping away, you cling onto your lover's arm with all your strength, hoping that it will somehow prolong your existence. the world around you fades away, and all you can hear is the sound of your own labored breathing and the faint voices of your lover. in that moment, all the trivial things that used to matter to you suddenly become insignificant, and all that you care about is the person holding you.
you close your eyes and take one last deep breath, knowing that your lover will be there until the very end. you feel the coldness creeping into your body, and the darkness closing in around you.
your last breath leaves your body, and your lover feels your heart stop beating against their chest, their world comes crashing down, their eyes wide and dull, confused about what had just happened, did you.. really go? they are left alone with their grief, holding on to the memory of the person they loved most in this cruel and wretched world.
the pain of losing someone so dear to you is gut-wrenching, and it will take time for them to heal. but even in death, your love for them lives on. they will always carry a piece of you with them, and they will never forget the way it felt to hold you in their arms as you passed from this world to the next.
and all you can do is hope that your love for them will live on after you're gone. you could only wish that they find someone better than you, someone who they will live their life to the fullest with, but you have an aching feeling that... they will never. with you gone, there is nothing to look for.

what have you done
(baizhu x reader)
tw: mentions of sickness, reader struggles with breathing
Tumblr media
More than a week has passed and now Baizhu was starting to second guess his suspicion. He found it strange how lately he’s been feeling little to no symptoms from his underlying condition.
He’s come to realize for the past few weeks he’s been in top shape, better than before.
There have been weeks maybe sometimes months where his condition seems to have no effects on him, not causing him to be in the excruciating pain he’s constantly in, but it always comes back after a while. It never leaves him for more than two months tops so he’s growing skeptical as to what could’ve helped erase his pain for this long.
You take note of his symptoms when you walk into the pharmacy for your shift.
“Good morning Dr. Baizhu, any new prescriptions for me to work on today?” You ask as you remove your coat, making your way to your office.
“No need for the formalities dear y/n, you’ve been my assistant for two years already.” He chuckles, a genuine smile gracing his features. “Only one new prescription for one of our regulars who’ll be down to pick it up later today, I’ll help you make it shortly.” You take note of his voice, how it doesn’t sound as strained and how his shoulders don’t seem as tense.
“I’ll get started, take your time.” You send him a smile back, a sigh of relief escaping your lips seeing him look at peace, knowing he’s no longer feeling pain.
Though your moment of relief was short lived. Once you turned the corner of the hall and made your way into your office you got sent into a coughing fit. One that made it hard to breathe.
The pain that’s been building up slowly since the symptoms you received was finally taking full effect now. A few months ago you had made the decision yourself to take away baizhus illness and give it to yourself. You made sure to do it as subtle as possible, taking it piece by piece for the past few months.
You knew the repercussions and what would eventually happen to you if you did so but you did it anyway. Though it was hitting you harder than you’d imagined it would you don’t regret what you’ve done, nor will you ever tell anyone or Baizhu what you’ve done.
You had a knack for wanting to see others get better, that is why you joined the medical field at such a young age. You weren’t blessed by the archons, bestowed a vision like many great people you know, Baizhu and Qiqi included. But you did have a particular gift you were born with. No one but your family and you know of it of course.
You had the ability to take away any injury, cut, gash, wound, flu, or illness away from one person and help them recover or fully heal but the only thing was it would be placed onto you and you’d have to take over what it was that you would heal someone from. A power that your parents referred to as a double edged sword.
They discovered your power when you were only seven years old. Your younger brother had fallen and scraped his knees and was crying nonstop. You felt bad and decided to help patch him up and you put your hand over his wound to stop the small bleeding only to wince in pain as you did so.
Your mother pulled your hand away and inspected your little brother's wound to find it completely gone, no trace of it being there in the first place. Not even a scar left behind. But when she looked at you she saw a small gash upon your knee, just where you little brother had it mere seconds ago. Since then she and your father had forbidden you from using your powers for anything more serious than so. They know what lengths you’d go to just to help others so they were reluctant on letting you go into the medical field but couldn’t stopped you in the end, it’s what made you the happiest after all.
You shakily push yourself off from the door, legs slowly making their way to your desk as you feel too lightheaded to stand upright.
“How has Baizhu been dealing with this all along?” You question yourself as you squeeze your eyes shut.
“Y/n, are you sick too?” Qiqi’s small voice comes from behind you, making you jump in surprise.
“Qiqi!” You look at the small child with wide eyes, your heartbeat loud from suddenly hearing her voice when you didn’t even spot her coming in. “Ah, no sweetie. It’s not that, I’m not sick.” you laugh it off, hoping she didn’t catch you wince when you turn to her feeling your lungs squeeze.
“I’m just uhh sleepy yeah! I’m sleepy!” You smile at her, feeling bad for lying to her but you don’t want her to worry or even worse inform Baizhu of your condition.
“But you were dizzy, like you were in pain.” Qiqis eyebrows furrow making you feel worse, she’s just a kid but she notices the slightest difference in someone’s demeanor . “Y/n Is something the matter? I think I should get Mr Baizhu.” She nods her head content with her decision before you even reply to her and turns on her heels.
“Qiqi wait!” You push yourself off your desk and quietly run around her kneeling down and offering her your best convincing smile before she can open the door. “Sweetie it’s no big deal I promise. Look you can see for yourself I’m doing just fin-“
“But your hands are shaking, you’re also perspiring.” Her small hand makes contact with your forehead and the corners of her mouth turn down making your stomach sink.
Why am I lying to a child? What’s wrong with me? You feel horrible, she’s just concerned and you're lying to her face when she’s just worried about your well being.
“Qiqi listen ok, I’m sorry. I am a bit under the weather today but it’s nothing I can’t handle. I’ll make sure to take things slow ok?” You slowly stand back up giving her small hand a squeeze. Taking a deep breath in to help regulate your breathing.
Her head tilts a bit, eyes narrowing as she tries to see through your lie. Something she's definitely picked up from Baizhu. Her small hand reaches for yours and she gives it a small squeeze.
“Don't overwork yourself, if your symptoms get worse i'll have no choice but to inform Mr Baizhu.” a small frown makes its way onto her mouth and you feel even more bad now.
“Sweetie don't feel like it’s your fault, I know how far I can push myself and when to stop. I really do appreciate your concern. If I feel any worse I will take my leave for the day, ok?” You give her small hand a reassuring squeeze hoping she won't say anything soon, hoping you can mask the pain that shoots through your body with every passing second.
“I have to prepare some antibiotics for a customer in a bit but tell you what, afterwards Baizhu you and I will head out for lunch! I'll buy you coconut milk and we can walk around for a bit afterwards! You can also check up on me then ok.” you see Qiqi’s eyes light up a bit and you feel relief wash over your body. A nice day spent out with them both sounded lovely , hopefully the pain wasn't as excruciating as it usually is later on.
“What’s this? Are you both making plans without me?” Baizhu’s voice comes from behind you, making you jump from where you stood.
“Baizhu! Were you standing there the whole time?!” you ask, feeling your heart drop a bit worried that he heard everything.
“My my, do I seem like someone who'd do such a thing?” he laughs making your frown deepen only making him laugh a bit harder.
“What little trust you have in me dear, we've known each other for far too long, have some faith in me.” he chuckles, stepping in smiling at the sight of you holding qiqi’s hand. His heart squeeze’s in a way he hasn't felt in so long, not one due to pain. Seeing you two puts him at ease makes his worry fade.
“I was just telling Qiqi how I wanted to treat you both to lunch later, after our customer pick’s up their prescription of course!” you clear your throat, hoping he didn't see the look of worry you wore thinking he heard you're sick.
“That sounds lovely y/n, only thing is it'll be my treat. You both deserve it. You both have been working very hard as of late and I need to show my deep appreciation to my two dear helpers now don't I?.”
“Wait that's not fair though I-”
“Ahahah,” he tuts taking slow steps to where Qiqi and you stood. “No need to argue ok.” he smiles down at you both, eyes crinkling at the corners. “I just want to treat you both, I'm just glad you are both still here with me, that we're all here together.” his eyes soften and you feel your heart rate pick up. He looks at peace.
“Baizhu has been feeling better as of late.” Changsheng hisses and Baizhu clears his throat making you and Qiqi laugh.
You knew exactly what Changsheng was talking about but didn't press further. You know exactly why he is and you're happy that he's not in pain, that's how you always want to see him.
“Now Qiqi, please do me a favor and run the front desk for me. Y/n and I have to work on a prescription, we’ll be done in a bit ok?” Baizhu kneels down, hand gently laying upon the small girl's head to which she gives a small nod and wastes no time walking out.
Baizhu sigh’s and stands back up to close the door behind her.
“Now shall we get started?” He chirps turning back to you with a closed eyed smile.
You only nod, walking to your desk to get the herbs and vial’s to mix for the antibiotics you need to finish.
“What’s the patient's diagnosis again?” You ask, bending down my the medicine cabinet in the corner of your room.
“Acute bronchitis.” He hums, leaning on the side of your desk watching your every move.
“Ah ok, so the medication calls for-“
Baizhu pushes himself off as he sees you kneel down, legs slightly shaking as you do so.
“Y/n stand back up for me.” Baizhus voice sounds much closer now making you almost drop the herbs you held in your hands.
“Baizhu-“
You turn to face him and the pain in your chest spikes up from moving too fast. The burn in your lungs and the tightness on your esophagus made your eyes burn in no time.
Your hold on the herbs slips from your hands as you clutch your chest, gasping for air now.
The vials never hit the floor. Before they did Baizhu quickly caught hold of them quickly reaching for you seconds after before your legs could give out.
“Y/n? What’s wrong?” Baizhu asks, concern evident in his tone.
“They’re sick.” Changsheng hisses as he slowly kneels to the floor with you.
“N-no im-“ a coughing fit came up seconds after making you clutch your already sore throat. You nod your head frantically at Changshengs accusation.
“Arms up dear, if you can't breathe don't freak out it’ll only make matters worse you know that!” Baizhu gently grabs hold of your arms and lifts them above your head making your eyes widen.
It felt as if it made things worse, you were getting scared. It was getting too hard to breathe let alone concentrate.
“Y/n! No don’t- ah look! Look at me-“ Baizhu’s hands were on both sides of your face getting you to look him in the eyes.
His golden like eyes stare at you with concern as he nods his head in assurance. “I’m here, you’re ok, just breath ok breath with me come on.” He inhales and you try only to feel your throat close up again but Baizhu urges you. His hand rubbing soothing circles on your back while his other one keeps one of your hands over your head.
Again, he inhales and you did so along with him, then a slow and steady exhale and you shakily do the same.
“Good, good, calm down with me, you're ok.” He offers a small smile though he still looks worried.
“I told you, when they walked in today I sensed it.” Changsheng peeks down from Baizhus shoulder, eyes narrowing at you.
“This sickness seems awfully familiar.” The snake comes closer and you feel as if they’re both too close, seeing into you.
“Y/n are you sick? How long has this been going on for?!” Baizhu grabs your wrist, placing two fingers on your wrist to check your racing pulse.
“Not too long.” You inhale sharply, feeling a stabbing sensation on your right lung making you hunch.
“Nono, dear stay up you know you have to.” Baizhus hand rubs your back, straightening your spine as you close your eyes and nod your head.
“Sorry, sorry I know I’ll be fine in a minute.” You exhale, a small laugh coming out hoping to ease the worry that was evident in his eyes.
“Y/n, I’m serious. When did you-“
Another coughing fit comes up making your hands cover your mouth and Baizhu feels his thoughts come to a halt when he sees a dark red substance seep through the cracks between your fingers.
“Baizhu this seems…..awfully familiar.” Changsheng whispers to the already worried man, making him come to a realization that he never thought was possible.
Did they get my sickness? But it isn’t contagious, how would this be? Baizhu thinks to himself, moving your hand from your mouth and placing his handkerchief over your lips wiping excess blood.
“This can't be…” Baizhu whispers and Changsheng slithers up closer to you.
“They’re hiding something Baizhu.” The snake slithers off of Baizhu’s shoulders and onto your lap.
You look at the snake then at baizhu whose eyes are boring into yours, trying to figure out how exactly your conditions seem awfully familiar to the one he has, to the one he had.
“Baizhu it’s nothing.” You give him a small smile, breathing somewhat evening out as you reach your hand to his gently grabbing the handkerchief.
“I just caught a cold, but now your handkerchief is ruined you didn't need to-“
“Did you know?” He whispers, connecting the dots in his head and he fears something he never thought would happen. He truly thought he hid it well, that no one knew except for Changsheng, but how did you get it?
“Know what? Baizhu I don’t understand-“
“This sickness isn’t just a cold or flu, it’s a rare disease that affects very little of the population. This isn’t something that could be contracted.” He reaches for his stethoscope and holds his breath.
“Y/n who have you been around recntl-“
His voice fell upon deaf ears, all you could hear was your heartbeat ringing in your ears.
“Y/n….y/n?” His eyes look back up to meet yours and he drops the stethoscope from his hold.
You look scared, afraid, guilty. Like a deer caught in headlights, like a child caught doing something they weren’t supposed to.
“Did you know about what I had?” His voice comes out small, almost sounding like he was on the brink of tears.
“I-I just…” your vision gets blurred at the look of horror written on his features.
“I couldn’t bare seeing you smile when you were in so much pain, I just wanted to help…. l-let you live freely without hiding something that was tearing you apart, I want to help you like you have helped so many others.” You stutter, voice cracking as you see his eyes brim with unsead tears. His hands reaching for your shaking ones.
He feels time slow down, sees your lips moving but his ears go deaf just as yours had earlier. He never thought you knew. He thought he had his it so well but he was wrong.
He’s always fooled people. Made them belive he was ok, nothing was wrong with him, he was never sick. When deep down he was the one sufferening pain far worse than any of his patients and he never got rest from it. Instead he held his head up high, masked his pain with a smile and people bought it, he thought you had too.
A long life wasn’t something Baizhu had ever seen for himself but when he had greedy thoughts he though of living the rest of his life with none other than Qiqi and you in perfectly harmony, but he knew that wasn’t how the real world was.
But when he had started feeling better a few months back he had hope, a small sliver but some nonetheless. Maybe someday his wish would come true and he could tell you what he’s really felt for so long.
So why are you sick now? Why are you suffering with the same mind numbing, painful sickness he once had? Why you? Not You. This can't be. He thought he hid it so well from you. But the real question that has been running over and over in his head is one he has a hard time saying but he just wants to know, if you knew about his sickness, what lengths have you gone to do this to yourself? How did you do this?
He feels his own hands shake. Even though his sickness is no longer affecting him he feels pain in his heart far worse than any pains he's felt from his illness.
Now it was his breathing that had become uneven. Shaky hands reach for your face to get you to look him in the eye as he tries his best to not let his voice waver.
This can't be real, his thumbs trace the curve of your cheekbones, your skin feels hot to the touch but the sweat on your forehead shows signs of chills. Why has this happened to you of all people? “Y/n.” He calls your name, barely above whisper, his breath hitching when your glossy eyes meet his. He thinks he knows what’s happened, but he just wants to hear you say it. “What have you done?”

[How alone must you feel every single day.]
You tossed to your left and stretched your arms out to the side where you know your partner is supposed to be sleeping early this morning. The coldness of the empty space sends disappointment in your system, slowly accept the fact that he will never stay like how he had always been in the last 10 years of your relationship.
You never knew that you would fall in love, you despised it from when you were little. So when you grew up and were of the right age, the thing you once knew you didn’t know existed in your system, overwhelming you with different kinds of emotions which drowned you to the core and you were not even expecting that it will be from an Archon Morax, Rex Lapis himself, or Zhongli as what you… everyone has been calling him in the last 10 years.
[A home that was supposed to make you closer]
Trying to dismiss the waves of memories from the events which happened last night, you tried to force a smile and patted your shoulder lightly to encourage yourself a little to get through the day. You got up and unsteadily made your way to the bathroom to wash, knocking over a few things from the hallway of your cold home located at one of the mountains surrounding Liyue harbor. Grunting, you safely entered the bathroom and filled the sink with water, but the familiar rush of a headache coming to you followed by a nosebleed that painted the water a pale red made you think of the only flower you first and last received from Zhongli. You were reminded of the silk flower and the way how Zhongli gave it to you under a rainbow from where your house was standing in the last 10 years came rushing to mind as if it was just yesterday when he went and stirred up your world.
Then again, thinking about Zhongli made you relive the disagreements he made before leaving. The images of him being slightly irritated with how persistent you were from last night’s argument, how you pushed yourself into his bubble as your only wish for his acceptance, voicing out and trying to make him understand your feelings and what you have been through, from how you raised your voice at him for the very first time to put yourself in authority to make him listen and stay. But last night was too messy and none of the words you spat you could recall. Hence the memory of how you looked at his back turned to silhouette as it disappeared in one of Liyue’s coldest-darkest hours is so vivid as if it is his sign to silently dismiss the fight without even trying to speak his mind about the matter, leaving your growing anxiety worse.
But just as the house was stirred last night full of hurt emotions and words, it is now too quiet enough to question yourself whether you have been living mute, deaf, and hidden in the last 10 years.
[A clock that ticks to remind you it’s enough]
Looking at your reflection in the mirror you read the clock that only you– you alone can see…
(Years:Months:Days:Hours:Minutes: Seconds)
00:00:00:08:02:55
Eight hours… Even with just the remaining hours you have, there is no Zhongli around to make you feel less lonely as you near your time to permanently leave him… To leave Liyue… To leave the world… You swallow the lump in your throat that was threatening to melt together with your tears and a heavy heart.
“What the h–hell did I do?” you voiced out… “Was it so wrong to l-love?”
“Was I not cut for this?” tears started to flow like a stream, “Was it so hard to receive o-one, when all I did was t-to g-ive?” trying to think of more questions, one thought got you.
“W–was I w–wrong to love an a–archon?”
You trembled as you looked at your reflection in the mirror. Disheveled hair, a thin face, and deep and tired-looking eyes were all you have seen in front of you. In the last 10 years, this is the first time you see yourself so broken, that you do not have any idea how to keep a neat appearance in front of the Archon you loved in your final moments.
“No– what was I–I think? He– he is the person I always love… How can I say that… I–’m sorry..”
You kneeled on the ground carefully touching it as you closed your eyes and silently whispered, “Zhongli, my love, I wish you would come home early today...” knowing well that your archon lover will probably pick up the waves of your voice just by the vibrations of the ground.

[How Baizhu and the others see you]
It reads, three hours… You slumped on the chair across from Baizhu’s seat in his office, you waited for him to finish passing on some instructions to Qiqi who was at the counter of the Bubu Pharmacy.
“What brought you here Y/n?”
“I– uh… How do I look first?” you asked, putting on your best smile in front of the man who you had been close to ever since you became Ningguang’s maiden years ago.
“Uh… well you look the same? Come on, tell me what’s the matter?” Baizhu gets to the point directly. Your bright smile could not fool him, and you just looked at his standing figure that is currently examining the new medicinal herbs brought to the pharmacy this morning. You got up and sneakily hugged his back, which startled Baizhu but regained his composure.
“If you only need to hug someone, go ask your archon for a hug! I’m busy!”
“Why are you so cold?” you chuckled
“‘Am not! So what happened? Take a seat.” With how persistent you were, Baizhu decided to stop what he was doing and listened to you.
“First off, here! Take this.” you gave him three sealed boxes wherein a time spell was cast. “Yours is the green one, Ningguang’s got the gold, and– Zhongli gets–”
“Wait?! You’re telling me to give this to your partner?! Hell no, why should I? You live in the same house.”
“But you know he’s not always home…”
Upon hearing your words, Baizhu’s stubbornness subsided, and watched your shoulders droop. Somehow the action you did make him feel like he is missing something that you were not telling him.
“Are you leaving Liyue harbor?” you did not answer his question and remained still in your seat as you tried to steady your breaths. “Are you finally leaving him?”
When Baizhu asked the latter, the emotions you have been trying to hide since making your way to Bubu pharmacy started to show. Hands trembling, and tears falling, you looked at Baizhu with complete sadness in your eyes, which took Baizhu seconds to a minute before he tried to search for answers in his box forcing it open but the item won’t budge.
“Silly… Stop struggling! You won’t be able to open it until 18:00. Ah, right! Zhongli… his– his is this white with gold lining box…” you let out a chuckle before you wiped your tears.
“I’ll miss you, Baizhu…” You took a step closer to him and opened your arms in front of him. Baizhu did not move from his seat, he was not sure whether to take it too as your very actions slightly gave him a sense of anxiety that he never knew you’d ever make him feel… Not from you, a friend he knew that shone the brightest as long as he could remember.
“You know… Y/n, this is scary… you’re scaring me. Why? You can talk to me and Ningguang… Y’know?” slowly indulging himself with the warmth of your embrace, he could feel your heartbeat. A beating he has never heard before…
“Hey you– are you okay?!” he stood up leaving you standing still, he racked his desk drawers to look for some equipment to try and hear your heart…
“Thank you, Baizhu…” you whispered as you left the pharmacy and ran as far away as you could from Bubu pharmacy.
“By the way, your archon went here last night and he–” Successfully grabbing the item he was looking for, Baizhu turned around but was only met by the scent of your shadows crowding the whole office.
“Y/n?”
14:45
(Years:Months:Days:Hours:Minutes: Seconds)
(00:00:00:02:15:02)
Two hours… and he still hasn’t gone home. You thought it was late and you did not bother to cook yourself a meal for lunch, nor prepared a meal for Morax to eat… You sat on the newly bought gazebo outside your house to breathe Liyue’s fresh air for the last time. Smiling as you take in nature's welcome on your slowly weakening body, the warm rays of the sun touching your face as it also made your hair shine a different hue from your original hair color, the breeze of nature tickling each of your active senses, the breathtaking views of the mountains, and Liyue harbor overwhelming the extent of what your eyes can see… It’s more than that.
Yes, Liyue is more than that… As you were filled with a short amount of Joy in your alone time, you remembered the lantern rite. You slowly went inside the house and looked for the lantern you had prepared beforehand, lighting it up as you softly whispered and called “Xiao” a name that you know will come to you right away, making you meet the person you knew was close to the archon you love come with just one command.
“Y/n, you called?” the familiar voice and appearance of a boy a little taller than you appeared, his eyes fixed on the lighted lantern you were holding.
“Hey, Xiao…” you flashed a grin, hiding the fact to him that you’re starting to grow a little weaker as your time ticks down. “Mind if I light it first?” you asked, voice as sweet as ever, melting Xiao’s cold soul. Reminding him how the last 10 years of being there to protect you on behalf of Morax’s command, this is the first time you initiated to light a lantern first, instead of being the last, and the sun is still up at that.
“I don’t but won’t it make sense? The sun is still running around Liyue, why light it this early?” Xiao questioned, “I just wanna be the first one to light it up for you this year… (When I see them, I’ll tell them you said Hi…)” you said but whispered the last sentence making Xiao squint his eyes trying to decipher words that were showing in your mouth.
“Here…” You walked past his figure and went to higher ground near the cliff at the back of your house. You closed your eyes and said your little prayers, as you slowly knelt and touched the ground once more to call for Zhongli, hoping that this time he’d come to you once you asked. As you let go of the lantern in broad daylight, your last words to give to Zhongli came out.
“My Morax, come home. I’m tired.” Once the silent words were delivered you felt a hot air surrounding you, and the ground shaking a little. “Get up, Y/n. I was being called by others again.” Xiao helped you up, and you just took his hand and touched his forehead.
“Oh, I see! I hope I did not take too much of your time. Also, I wish for you to accept this, Xiao. I just wanted to thank you.”
“It is my duty. Part of my responsibility. It is my honor to be called by you, Y/n.” the words Xiao let out made you feel sad but you forced a laugh so he won’t suspect that something was going on with you at the moment.
“I think you should get going now. Thank you, Xiao.” He bowed to you and kept the small box you gave him, similar to the one you gave Baizhu.
“I wish to see him cry over me before I leave.”
16:50
(Years:Months:Days:Hours:Minutes: Seconds)
(00:00:00:00:15:00)
Minutes… it says fifteen minutes… You only have fifteen minutes left to stay awake and see him, to thank him, to give him your last smile, to have your last talk with him, to ask him your last question, to receive the last assurance you ever wished, your last minutes to hear the words you wanted to hear more from him, last minutes to wait for him before you puff the last air you could ever breathe out, to give him your last I love you,
… and your last kiss to give him the last goodbye. Yet there’s still no Zhongli appearing in front of you. He hadn’t come to any of your pleads. He is not with you… He was never with you in the last 10 years of your relationship.
(00:00:00:0:07:00)
You sighed as you made your way back to the gazebo and sat on the ground where it stands and listened to the distant sound that the joyous people of Liyue harbor were making as they pulled their last-minute preparations for the festival. Every second felt like torture to you, thinking to yourself about how the man you loved the most did not give you the love that you deserved and was not able to give you the assurance you needed all the years you have been together.
Now, you’re drowning in your memories of the past welcoming the pain you’re feeling, with your senses deteriorating little by little, and your eyes falling its last tears along with your vision getting blurry enveloping you to unwelcomed darkness in each passing second that not even the bright lights coming from Liyue’s Lantern Rite Festival can make bring back your sight, ‘It was nice seeing the region you made brighter than ever, Morax...’
“ Morax, I–.” were your last words before you breathed your last sweet breath, your head slowly dropping on the bench, as the sound of LIyue’s people started to move near the mountain

(Years:Months:Days:Hours:Minutes: Seconds)
(00:00:00:00:00:10)
Your time is up. Your lungs are burning as it tries to take in more air. You know that it won’t make any difference even if you ask to have your time extended to properly end things with Zhongli, but fate was never once on your side after you met him. All you ever experienced in the last 10 years was anything but not love and assurance. You believed that his heart was never with you after 1 year of being together, yet you never failed to lose hope that maybe one day, he’ll be able to see you and care for you like how you were with him. But wishing is a luxury to you when you are already with an archon who can give you that, ‘won’t it be too much to ask for a little more’ Yes, you believed it is true, but if only you were a little selfish, maybe this rare disease did not come looking for you.
Accepting the harsh reality, you thought to yourself that even at this moment, you could never bring yourself to hate Zhongli, not even once in the last 10 years have you thought of hating him even if it is too painful to love him but only one selfish thought came to you, touching the ground for the last time, you whispered in your mind. “I do not wish to meet you in my next life, Morax…”
With your body losing its warmth, the last tear taking its last drop, and your pupils slowly dilating, comes the sound of the fireworks from Liyue harbor shooting at the skies reflecting the colorful sparkles dancing in your lifeless eyes…

Ja ♥

arguing with alhaitham and reader goes to leave, goes missing for a bit, and comes back with no memory at all ! (make it hurt tysm)
Oh wow I'm doing another Alhaitham ask lol! Gender neutral reader, angst with no happy ending in the end. Basically really bad communication lands up having consequences. As much as I would like to do a part 2 of this, I feel like this is better just as itself. If anyone else feels like doing a part 2 of this, however, feel free to do so!
--
Another argument, another insult session between the both of you. Your insults were never hitting deep with Alhaitham, you didn't use his weaknesses against him.
However, Alhaitham was particularly mean this time. He insulted the fact you never got a vision, he insulted the fact you got too emotional at times, and he implied that he could aim a lot higher than you. You begin to cry, and Alhaitham lands the final blow before you run out crying.
"You are an embarrassment. Even Kaveh is more logical than you." Alhaitham shrugs, you running out and slamming the door behind you.
--
Deciding you needed some time to process those words, and to slowly get over the statement so you could both have a logical conversation that wasn't laced with insults. When you caught wind of a commission regarding a domain in Liyue, right before you enter Sumeru, you take it. You knew the traveler had so much on their plate, and recently they were enjoying the Mondstadt Festival, and you figured it was the least you could do for all they have done to help so many people.
The domain was very strange. Every turn you made, you heard a male voice telling you to leave while you still could. At the time, you believed this person was in a dangerous situation based on how they were out of breath when screaming out for you to leave. Pushing forward, you eventually come across a short man, clearly almost passed out completely.
"Why are you here, mortal?" He gruffs out. "My karmic debt has caught up to me, it will kill you." He chokes out, spluttering as he looks around. As he goes to grab his weapon, however, you take it instead.
The fight was difficult, but eventually the onslaught of enemies stopped completely. An opening in the domain seemed to be almost ready, but it was clear you needed to investigate another part of the domain. Ignoring Xiao's warnings, you rush in.
'Mortal, you must sacrifice something near and dear to you.'
"Huh?" You ask, looking around to see nothing but void surrounding you. "Who said that?"
'Oh, you poor thing. I can tell you are so...deeply hurt by your lovers harsh, harsh words.' The disembodied voice coos, you hearing a very muffled voice calling out for you. 'Let me take away the suffering.'
"What are you talking about?" You tilt your head, failing to comprehend how you forgetting someone special to you would help this individual.
'Dear, I am here to comfort you'. The voice explains. 'I can help you. I feed off of your negative energy, and this hurt from an argument is perfect.'
"Why did you say I have to sacrifice something near and dear to me?" You ask, hearing Xiao screaming for you to stop responding and wait for him.
'Just hurry up and say yes, and I can make you forget everything bad that lover of yours has said.' The voice tuts, clearly losing patience. You feel your health getting worse by the second, and in a moment of desperation you follow the rules. Saying yes, you feel yourself passing out as Xiao finally gets through the void.
--
"Well, I am the bearer of good news." Doctor Baizhu hums. "You are physically fit."
"What about the effects of the karmic debt?" Xiao asks, crossing his arms. "I need to know the magnitude of these memories being stolen."
"I'm afraid I can't say...It doesn't seem to have affected them, but neither you nor I know what they have agreed to forget." Baizhu hums.
"I should have forced them out when I sensed them. No mortal should be near me in a domain like that." Xiao huffs, looking down at his mask. "This all happened because 'someone' was worried about my lack of presence."
"So I can go home? I kind of need to get my commission sorted out, and I have some house chores I should get around to." You ask, Baizhu nodding.
As he watches your retreating form, he senses Xiao is feeling incredibly guilty for you coming along.
"Don't blame yourself for this. In fact, you got them out of that domain before the karmic debt got to them physically." Baizhu states, Xiao simply teleporting away.
--
"_, my dear." Alhaitham lets out a sigh of relief, thoroughly confusing you. "I have been worried sick about you leaving after the argument. It's been days! I wanted to apologise, tho-"
"...I'm sorry, sir." You start, just looking at him. "But I don't know you."
