you aren’t “sexually liberated,” you have ptsd and hypersexuality is how it presents itself

you are not “different from other girls” or “an alien.” you have anxiety, a consequence of being othered and policed 24/7 by society for your femaleness

you are not “an evil bitch,” you are experiencing burnout because of decision-fatigue and anxiety, since you have so much to prove every second of the day

in short, the problem isn’t you. this isn’t your natural state and it can get better once you acknowledge that you and so many other women are coping with an insane amount psychological and physical abuse and demands. the world has been a war zone for women for AGES. it’s going to take its toll on all of us.

I’d recommend watching and reading up on how to deal with these issues. Personally, I enjoy watching Therapy In A Nutshell on YouTube. She has great techniques and a deep understanding of how the brain works.

PS: THIS ISN’T A DIAGNOSIS. It’s a post highlighting how women often ignore how patriarchy affects them mentally and treat their sickness and coping as a moral failing or personality quirk because of how mundane our suffering is. I believe women and girls can cope better and even heal if they can name what has happened to them and how it’s affected them.

Luke is one of those "protagonists with every right to turn villain" who ACTUALLY turned villain. No wish fulfillment bad guy, no "cool" aesthetic change, no "oh well they aren't really bad". Just straight up off-the-rail villainy. He's a kid who's been mistreated for all his life, who lost almost everything and everyone he ever cared about. A kid who broke under the pressure and snapped at everyone around him. Those who harmed him aswell as those who loved him. Luke's arc is ugly and broken and realistic. He's the protagonist who broke. The reason you hate him is simply because he didn't break in that cool wish-fulfillment power fantasy way you want your protagonists to break. But the fandom ain't ready to have that convo yet.

you just made the scientific discovery of the century & you want to tell everyone & your kids are first on that list but you can't find them. you manage to get a hold of your daughter & she says everything is fine but her voice gets tight when you try to mention your work & she sucks in a breath & says she won't keep you from it any longer than she already has & doesn't say bye as she hangs up the phone. you have a sinking feeling in your gut & you really want to get back to what you were doing but. something's wrong. where are your kids. why was your daughter not surprised when you told her. why was she so quick to hang up on you. your husband has the same type of mind & that's probably why neither of you can ignore this odd turn of events & so you decide to track them down. the research can wait. after all, the spook got away somehow afterwards. it's not like you have anything to go through but data & recordings.

Today, I read a handful of the Stranger Things comics, additional materials, etc. "The Other Side" Graphic Novel about Will's time in the Upside Down (set in S1) really had some things that resonated with my view of Billy. So, I did a thing. I made the edit. I thought it would fit, so I did it. I wanna tag @strangerthings4theories for getting me into the Billy Hargrove is coming back/Billy Hargrove theory community, I'd be interested to hear their take on the external materials if they've read them (regardless of if these materials are considered canon or not.) I want to preface this post by saying that I love the cat king as a character, especially one that has such a major impact on Edwin and his relationship with his queerness and learning to be okay with it; HOWEVER, I also believe that everyone that genuinely believes he should be a love interest for Edwin should read this. (Also if you just like the cat king as a character and want to understand his character better and why his and Edwin’s relationship is not something that would be healthy or “real” for either)
