was randomly thinking about Big Hero 6 the other day and how it’s just. a phenomenal movie. i can’t speak to the superhero movie genre because marvel has tainted it so much for me so i haven’t seen many others but. i’m just so in love with it. the story was good. each character’s design and gimmick was so good. plus it overall being a story about grief was something that kinda flew over my head when i was little but appeals to me so much more now.

it came out when i was like. in elementary school and it’s had a place in my heart since. i think i might love it a little more now that i’m older. i need to watch it again.

Bruce:

Can't say shit to you and he knows it. This man is THE overdoer of overdoing anything. Trained his body beyond typical and atypical human limits. Used to train himself to sleep in 20 minute bursts in his prime so he could spend the other 23 hours and 40 minutes a day working on bettering Gotham day and night. Made contingency plans for every single hero and villain and antihero known to him just in case he might need to put them down one day. Bruce has never done anything with less than 110% commitment. It's not a surprise you picked up that trait, as much as it makes him both proud and worried for you. So, like the hypocritical coward he is, Bruce says nothing.

To you. He's gonna lament about it to the others, though.

Hal:

Not happy about it. You're grown, and you can do what you want with your time as you see fit, but if you happen to be spending more time at your cafe and less time at home, that's when he's gonna crack his knuckles and start bugging you.

"Hey, kiddo! I think you've stocked up enough ingredients to keep this joint running for the next 6 months. Five if Killer Croc orders anything more than once a week. Don't you think you're going a little overboard? Come on home and take a rest; I'll give you a ride."

Dick:

He's gonna try to get legal about it. If you're in there working beyond your posted opening and closing times, he's threatening to fine your business. You wouldn't want that, would you? Just call it quits for the day and go lie down! Everything is fine!

(This does not work. You hand him a fat stack of cash to cover the fine, call your brother a Blüddy pig, and oink at him until he rushes out of the store, embarrassed.)

Jason:

Enforces the Weekly Family Nap Time when you don't. He calls or texts you and says you've got five minutes to wrap up the most important shit, then he's coming. It doesn't matter if you lock the doors, he's getting in the building, he's hoisting you over his shoulder, and he's taking you home and putting you and everybody else to bed. Shouldn't have skipped dinner, idiot. Now you're in a big cuddle puddle. If you use your shadows to slip away, he's threatening to cause property damage. He'll take the heat on that if it gets you to slow down.

Tim:

You're stubborn and bull-headed like the rest of your family. Once you focus on a task you're very unlikely to pull your attention away from it unless you're made to. So he makes you.

He locks down your POS system until you call him in frustration, then gets you to give it up and come home.

"It's eleven at night, M. The place closed at seven. Come back and I'll reactivate it tomorrow morning before it's supposed to open again, I promise. Whatever you're doing can wait."

Damian:

Similar to Jason, he's slipping into the cafe after hours and leveling you with a disappointed glare. Unlike Dick and Hal, his little guilt trips and speeches actually work.

"When you were six years old, I watched you flatline in a hospital bed because of your poor immune system. And you hadn't even done anything to get yourself sick back then." He leans against the counter and watches you painstakingly adjust and readjust and re-readjust all the furniture in preparation for the painting crew scheduled to arrive in the morning to give the place a fresh look. You refuse to turn around and face him. "Why are you purposely working yourself sick again? Are you going to make me sit at your bedside in the ICU while you fight for your life over something you couldn't leave to the other staff? To the contractors you hired to do this for you? Are you trying to frighten the people that love you, Flit?"

You leave the furniture where it's at and go hug your brother, then let him take you home.

+ Conner:

Sometimes you're overworked because there's too much to do, and not enough hours in the day. You aren't the kind of boss to ask your staff to stay longer than they've been scheduled for (not realizing that they happily would if you needed the help), so you take on the mundane, often laborious, after-closing duties yourself.

Conner is attuned to your needs and desires. He doesn't have to convince you to pack it up and go home. He knows that's what you want to do. But you also have to take care of your business, and sometimes that means staying for hours past closing to supervise a major renovation, or coming in so early the sun hasn't even risen to receive a shipment of baked goods from across the city.

Conner doesn't force you to abandon those tasks to go home. But he does stay to help them along. Need something moved from one end of the café to the other? He's on it. Need something dropped off at another store? Leave it to him. Need someone to prevent the creepy window washer from staring at your ass? He's already on it.

And when it's all said and done, and you can finally head out for the night, Conner will carry you home.

What do you think about a pinning Roy finally getting the girl after some time being in rehab and all that? I'm sure he'll be so happy and feeling lucky!

I love this! It has so much potential for slow burn with a big, soft explosive ending, as well as the possibility of angst.

I immediately thought of his girl as a teenage/young love sweetheart. Somebody he has this idealist image of in his head. They gave each other their V cards, have all these memories of summer road trips and late nights together, but as they got older it was harder and harder for her to watch him destroy himself. They have this awful bitter break-up.

Roy, however, can’t stay mad at her for long. Queue: Him texting her constantly from all over the world, whenever he thinks about her. Usually, it's friendly, until he’s had too much. Then he gets needy, desperate, downright rude when she stops responding, until one day she sends him an essay telling him that it is unfair of him to keep contacting her like this, that it’s making it hard for her to move on, that she keeps warming back up to him and he keeps reminding her why they broke up by getting wasted and doing something stupid, and that she will be blocking him post voicemail/text whatever.

So, whenever he’s back in town he starts showing up at her place with worse and worse excuses. “Just passing by, thought I’d say hi.” “I lost my arm support, think I left a spare here, mind if I look?” “Lian kept asking about you, and it’s my weekend so I thought we’d surprise you.”

And they keep almost getting there. Ill-advised kisses. Seeking the other out when they need comfort from a long-time friend. Bumping into each other and winding up spending the day together just because it's so easy to fall into stride. Maybe she even starts dating other guys which causes even more problems, and makes him emotional and then he spirals proving even more why she was right to break up with him.

But they never take the plunge because either she just doesn’t buy that he’s ready for that yet, or because he proves he’s not ready yet by going out on a bender or drinking too much over dinner.

Obviously, she’s only one of many reasons he finally decides to get sober and when he starts going to rehab and attending AA, he doesn’t tell her until he gets his 30-day chip. Then he shows up at her door once again to show her, she is happy for him, ecstatic, but she needs more commitment than 30 days. He mails her all his proceeding chips, 60 days, 90 days, 4 months, 5, 6, 12. By the time he sees her again, she is ready.

She’s been waiting for this moment for months, she swings the doors open, and throws herself into his arms. They spend a whole weekend in bed joyously making up for lost time. Sorting their shit, making plans. They’re gonna move in together, somewhere with a second room for Lian, and space for a dining room, and a big TV. A garden large enough for Roy to have a shooting range and garage to tinker in.

They have years to catch up on. It’s perfect, nothing in this world could bring him down. They’re stronger than ever, Roy keeps attending his meetings, and then Heroes in Crisis happens.

So about my upcoming webcomic Athena's Champions

As some of you might know I'm working on a webcomic about Odyssues and Diomedes. It will mainly focus on the Trojan war, I'm going to try to reconstruct the Trojan War cycle with the bits and pieces that are available, the parts in between I'll just make up myself and hope it still feels somewhat accurate.

It's not going very fast so for the people that are interested, please be patient. The reason why it's not going very fast is because I keep changing the chapters, because I want it to be something I'll be proud of. Especially the first chapter has been rewritten at least 15 times. On top of that I'm not a big fan of the webcomic format, especially the white spaces really annoy me, so I wanted to make some special pannels with decoration around it, and I also want it to be decently colored. So there's a lot of work that goes into making this, so it will take some time. The problem I had with rewriting (and redrawing) the first chapter over and over again have been passed down to the next chapters. I had rough sketches for the next two chapters completely drawn out with text, but I decided that I don't like them anymore and I'm working on new ones.

With this post I wanted to tell you what you could expect from this webcomic. Once I have finished the 6 first chapters, I'll put them online (don't know where yet, if anyone has recommendations feel free to share) and then it will probably take a while to make the other chapters. The first 6 chapters will be:

Chapter 1: Embassy to Troy

Chapter 2: Gathering allies: Crete

Chapter 3: Gathering allies: Skyros (might be split into two chapters)

Chapter 4: Egypt

Chapter 5: Council in Argos

Chapter 6: Home (might also besplit into 2 chapters, or even more, this is supposed to show the home context of the heroes and their families, I want to pay extra attention to this, since the webcomic focuses mainly on the war endeavors of the men, their families will get less attention, so I think this is important)

The scripts of these chapters have somewhat been written down (I don't like to work with tight scripts, they stress me out). After this there will be the first council at Aulis, the failed mission to Mysia and then again a home depiction. After that the real war starts.

It's my intention to also make a sequel encluding what happens in the Odyssey, the travels of Diomedes and the Aeneid, but judging from the current pace I have in making these, I assume this will be as fast as Odysseus trying to reach home. I hope not, but I've been working on this for 3 years now and I kept changing everything, so it's actually not that unrealistic. Let's hope it's faster though.

Day 5 Prompts: Pillow Fight; Drunken Confessions

Sorry this one's late, I had a long day yesterday, but I am planning on posting day 6 today as well, so keep an eye out for that!

For context, I have this very specific Superhero AU I haven't written anything for yet that this one is taking place in. You don't need to know anything other than Dream is a professional hero backed by the government, Techno owns a bookstore, and they only know each other through Dream's civilian life.

Fair warning, this one does have a discussion about alcohol abuse that's leaning towards alcoholism. It's at the end, so if you want to skip that, just jump past the last line break (-----_____) to the end (**~~~~~~~).

Dream loves getting to come to Hypixal. The reasons usually suck given it's either a public appearance or a villain the local heroes aren't able to deal with for one reason or another, but he still loves it. Because when all of that is done, he gets to slip away from his handlers, take off his hero identity, and disappear into the life of the city without anyone watching him.

He can do whatever he wants. Buy random knickknacks, have whatever kind of food he wants, see the shows that are in the city, drink however much he wants, stay up as long as he cares to, and meet new people.

That's how he met Techno. Pretty, sharp witted, kind Techno who took pity on the random person obviously lost in the big city.

His phone vibrates in his hand as he presses further under the awning, a big grin on his face as he reads the message.

T: really made a choice today, huh.

T: stay there. i have an umbrella, idiot

Me: wow. not all us prepare everything. really feel the love, techie

T: or i could call the cops

Me: sorry sorry ill behave promise

T: sus

Dream giggles, burying his face in the scarf wrapped around the bottom of his face. He holds the phone closer to his chest as he waits for another message to pop up, poking at the keys as he tries to figure out if he should send another message.

His feet are a bit cold, a bit wet and make a squishing sound as he shifts in place. It's probably because of, of the rain but that's why he texted Techno. Techno would know where he can go or come and get him. Which he's doing!

It takes a few minutes for his phone to buzz again, this time displaying a picture of himself staring across the street only showing his right side. He frowns, slowly turns his head and smiling brightly as soon as he spots Techno holding an umbrella over himself and giving a brief wave.

Dream runs over, not caring about the pouring rain as he latches onto Techno's arm. He wants to spin them around, tug Techno down the roads as they just run, but Techno's impossible to move.

"You look like a drowned rat," Techno sighs as he lifts the side of his coat to wrap around Dream. It's warm and he presses close, forgetting about the idea to run around.

"I'm a pretty drowned rat," he says into Techno's shoulder. He's always so warm and he can't help the shiver that runs through him. "Didin' realize it would rain."

"It's rainy season," Techno sighs. "Always expect rain even if everything is saying you'll be good."

He hums, eyes drifting close as he soaks in the warmth of the body pressed against him. His stomach turns, gurgles- "I want soup."

Techno huffs, shoving his head lightly, "Okay. Come on."

Dream laughs, clings tighter to Techno's arm as they walk down the side walk. He points out all of the interesting things and cool colors he sees the entire walk back to Techno's place, only stopping as they reach his door and head inside.

"I'm going to get you something to change into," Techno says, kicking his shoes off. "Wait in the bathroom and don't touch anything."

Dream hums, wandering through the place. There's a lot of interesting things he can look at here, but he doesn't get far before Techno is tugging him to the bathroom. He blinks at the room. Confused as to how he got here, but moving on as his eye catches what he's pretty sure is a new washcloth. It has little pigs embroidered on it!

A sigh drags his attention away from the towel to see Techno standing in the doorway, "Here. Put these on."

It's clothes. Clearly Techno's and he drops the cloth to snag them up. They're all soft. Nice on his hands and he wants to stay there clinging to them. He always wants to touch Techno - hold hands, linked arms, leaning against him, hugs - but it's not something Techno likes. This is a nice alternative.

Only, Techno steps in, nudging him to actually change his clothes. (Wow. They were really cold. Getting them off is nice.)

They're big on him, covering his hands and feet as Techno guides him out and pushes him toward the couch. It has a clear view of the kitchen where he heads to, grabbing something from the fridge and messing with the stove.

Dream grabs a pillow, happy to watch Techno moving around. His hair sways lovingly as he moves and most of his focus is on that.

Techno comes back, a bowl in hand and he blinks down at it as it's pressed into his hands.

"You asked for soup" he did? oh, right, he did "I'll get a movie started if you eat."

He perks up. Techno always has the best movies on hand.

The soup is tasty. Warm and filling and he didn't realize he was so hungry. The movie is starting in the background, but he's more focused on trying to finish the bowl. It's getting strangely hard to keep his eyes open.

Fingers are running through his head, scratching at his scalp. The bowl is gently tugged from his hands as he leans forward. There's a nice warmth in front of him, curling around him as sound fills the air low enough he doesn't bother fighting the desire to stay where he is.

Techno sighs, setting the bowl on the side table as he feel Dream fall completely asleep. He tugs the throw down from the back to wrap around him and shifting him around to actually be laying down. He doesn't want Dream to wake up with a sore back.

The smell of alcohol is fainter, at least. Most of it must have been clinging to his clothes currently laying in Techno's bathroom to take care of later.

He stays where he is on the couch. Debating what he's going to bring up in the morning. His main concern is that this is the seventh time in three weeks he's gotten a text from Dream asking to be picked up because he's lost only to find him clearly tipsy if not drunk.

It's getting worrying and he's pretty close to asking Niki to step in. The only reason he hasn't is because he has no way of knowing if this is typical for the other days or it's just the ones he has off.

The other thing is the mumbled 'love you' he just heard. Which is not something he was at all prepared to have dumped on him. Currently he hopes that Dream just doesn't remember it and he can ignore it.

He winces slightly as Chat almost screams in his head as they start arguing. "Fine, fine," he mutters, glancing down to check on Dream. Still asleep and breathing fine. "Just let me know if you come to an agreement."

It does nothing to calm them down, but a few manage to shout loud suggestions for the actual concerning topic he makes sure to memorize. He wants as much help as he can get for this.

AU Notes:

dream is a hero as mentioned, as is most of his family and friends. literally the only person he is close to that isn’t involved with the hero. business is techno.

the syndicate is a thing here. they’re labeled a villain group since they refuse to work with any government. it’s only four of them - techno, niki, phil, and ranboo - plus a few of their close relations - ie kristen.

niki owns a bar and has a pretty extensive network through other bars and liquor stores so if it came to it, techno was going to ask her to black list dream from buying anything.

So this is an AU I’m interested in writing more in just like day 1. I do hope you enjoyed this snippet into the world though! 😊

DAILY BRAINROT

I greatly appreciate our brainrot time because otherwise I think I would go bonkers and I don't think my IRL friends can handle this level of brainrot. If any of them find my Ao3 or Tumblr by some miracle, I would perish on the spot. They don't need to know.

Anyway, I am obsessed with Legend's little brother vibes. He's like the older middle child. Can be responsible when he needs/wants to, but otherwise prefers being a thorn in the oldest's side. He's a stupid little goofball and I love that for him. I need him to team up with Time for a dumb prank because who would expect The Hero of Legend and The Hero of Time to do something like that??

Slightly related to that, I love it when he's a twin in modern AUs. LOVE IT. But what I want is for him to be Warriors' twin and Hyrule to be Wind's twin (or something close to that). I think it would be a good combination, especially if it's something like a mixed family dynamic where Legend and Warriors end up being brothers with Hyrule and Wind for some random reason so it goes from your regular older brother and younger brother dynamic to the younger brother suddenly dealing with his own younger brothers pestering him. Less accidental baby acquisition, more accidental younger brother acquisition.

(I will end up writing this because I'm crazy, we all know it, there's no point in denying it at this point.)

I also keep thinking about the War of Eras stuff and like... it's always a time paradox. It's always a time paradox. I can't get the idea of the guys teaching each other things, it's too sweet. Like, don't you have to wonder if Warriors teaches Wind how to do first aid because Tune taught him first? It's probably more likely he learned from someone else, but it's a thought. I'm slowly dying on the inside thinking about how much Tune would do for the captain because he wants to return the favor and ldjkgdfgjdirjgdlgrijgdlirjfdrijtelkjfd--

I genuinely appreciate the daily brainrots so much too 😭 like i come home at the end of a long day and i get excited to see it come in my inbox aslkgkjhg. i got a few people irl who know im bat shit on tumblr and on ao3, my fuckin fiancee literally follows this blog and i know they don’t check it often but i do live in the fear of the day i get a text or call about some super specific odd ass shit post i made🧍‍♂️and then one of my best friends reads Fierce Hero 9, which is honestly fucking hilarious to me because she knew NOTHING about LU when she started reading it (i only recently convinced her to join the dark side /j), she just heavily fucks with big hero 6, and yknow what i respect that. but if my COLLEGE friends ever found this blog?? killing myself immediately. killing myself, deleting the blog, and moving to the other side of the planet actually. and my family knows I write fanfiction but if they ever read or found it?? theres not a group of people on this earth who would be able to find me, my ass would be GONE.

I guess part of it is cos i headcanon they got like a literal decade between em, and i never thought about making them that close in age, let alone the SAME age. oh my god i love war of eras trio time paradoxes so fucking much. SOOOO fucking much. Just the idea of Wars teaching Wind some little thing and then Tune having that knowledge to help Captain Link?? EATING IT UP. Or Wind being the world’s biggest shit to Time and him absolutely RUTHLESSLY clapping back, just for Tune to pull the EXACT same soul destroying comeback seemingly out of his ass to hit Mask with when Mask decides to be a snarky little shit. Who started it? We’ll never know

born on may 4, 1998 — making him the oldest of the ahn siblings at 25

took on a father figure role after daisy and david were born, due to the fact that their parents were oftentimes busy with work

but because of this, all the ahn siblings are incredibly close

a taekwondo instructor — has been doing it since 2018, but has been taking classes himself since he was a kid

has taught daisy most of what she knows

she looks up to him a lot, and often goes to him for advice

theres a recurring gag / bit going on in which a vast majority of daisy’s friends find jihoon attractive or have had a crush on him — which peeves her to no end (affectionately)

was most likely the one to teach daisy how to drive

he reminds daisy of tadashi hamada from big hero 6

daisy inherits the Hopeless Romantic trait from him

currently residing in toronto for work

daisy’s oldest sister! born june 19, 2001 — making her oldest after jihoon at 22 years old

lives probably the farthest out of all of her siblings, currently living in seoul

daisy stays with her when she travels there

a popular twitch streamer in korea, often plays games like valorant and league

will have daisy on stream when she does val sometimes

definitely dotes on daisy a little more than jihoon does, but it’s because daisy’s a little more reliant on yujin

formula 1 junkie — she and daisy often talk about the races together

was the one who gifted daisy her first and only guitar — which daisy lovingly named ‘jin’ after her older sister

a lot of daisy’s clothes are yujin’s handmedowns

is the more introverted of the ahn siblings

both she and jihoon were forced to become camp counsellors at the same camp david and daisy attended — much to yujin’s chagrin

most of daisy and yujin’s hangouts consist of them staying home and watching movies or cooking together — or going shopping

they’re pen pals, often writing each other cute letters despite being able to text each other

daisy’s twin! both february babies (february 26th, 2003)

they’re definitely the closest out of all the siblings, but that’s a given considering the fact that they’re twins

they’re 100% each other’s person

because david got into hockey, daisy was quick to follow his footsteps by taking figure skating

have only really been apart for small increments of time (ie : when daisy visits stella and the hughes family, trips to korea, etc)

dealt with their first big separation when daisy moved to michigan for university, while david hung back and went to ubc

people often describe daisy and david as “one in the same,” having similar personalities but completely different interests

david has been playing hockey since he was a kid — even playing against luke and jack’s team once as children

he still plays hockey in university, but only recreationally now

their sibling group chat is called “ahn clan 🫶🏻” — and it’s used pretty frequently. they regularly keep in touch with one another

they regularly try to be there for each others functions when it’s possible

they try to at least have one family trip together every year

huge fights are incredibly rare, but they’ll have their petty squabbles more often than not (typically it’s david and yujin)
