I just think Ray needs a surprise holiday!
You had it all planned out.
Every meticulous step had been perfectly arranged. Every task on the board carefully categorized, broken down into a series of simple goals that you had ticked off one by one. You were on schedule, on time, on a fucking roll. And you were not going to let anyone stand in your way. No matter the cost, even to your pride, you were going to see this through.
“Star…” Ray blinked down at you, dark eyes half-lidded with exhaustion and that ever-present fondness that never failed to make your knees grow weaker. The hand rubbing the back of his neck lowered to curl over your cheek, almost petting you as though you were a misbehaving cat. “What are you hiding from me?”
“Nothing!” You replied reflexively, and then cringed when one eyebrow went up. Too quick. Usually you were a better liar, but this was Ray. Your boyfriend of several months, and the love of your life for almost as much time. You didn’t exactly want to lie to him, but this was meant to be a surprise! Did anyone know how difficult it was to plan a surprise for a mind-reader?! The meditation, the distractions, the waiting until he was out patrolling before jumping online to do research, finish up preparations, and then hurriedly delete the browsing history on your laptop?
It would all be worth it though, you thought determinedly as you marshaled your willpower and stubbornly stared up at Ray. There was no way you were going to trip up this close to the finish line. By tomorrow morning everything would be finalized.
“Tomorrow morning?” Ray echoed lightly, and you immediately froze in place. Shit, he was catching on. Fine, fine, you could salvage this. As long as he didn’t look into your room– “Your thoughts are very loud, Star.”
“I’m panicking!” You retorted, again too loud and too quick. He snickered at your flustered state while you rushed to regain control. “Um. I mean. There’s nothing in my room, I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
Ray snorted, a laugh escaping him at your obvious attempts. His tall frame cast a shadow over you as he stepped closer, herding you backwards until your spine touched the door of your room. When he spoke again, his voice was laced with something approaching genuine curiosity and anticipation.
“Come on, what's the big surprise you've been hiding from me?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. His eyes pinned you in place.
"Now, now, Ray. Patience is a virtue, you know," you couldn’t stop yourself from teasing. When he stepped forward again, you placed a hand on his chest to prevent him from advancing further. "Besides, that’s the fun in spoiling the surprise too soon? You’ve waited this long, right?"
“I didn’t know I was waiting before,” Ray grumbled, and then a playful smirk curved his lips. “Besides, I know exactly where the fun is," he quipped, leaning in closer until his breath ghosted over your ear. "Why don’t you let me show you?"
Goosebumps formed across your skin as molten heat flowed through your body, down your spine and to the very tips of your toes. You shuddered at his proximity, your own eyes growing half-lidded as your iron resolve weakened under his tantalizing words. In or out of the blue and yellow costume, Ray was impossibly magnetic. There was no way you could deny the effect he had on you. Once he had compared you both to a binary star system, two objects in space intertwined in a cosmic dance. Destined to either be destroyed or separated for eternity.
You thought that was a rather pessimistic outlook. Maybe you wouldn’t always work things out. Maybe you would argue. Maybe the causes would be internal – your own insecurities and worries, Ray’s trauma, his misanthropy, and over-protectiveness. Maybe they would be external – the NAHA, Double Vision, and other villains. To you though, what mattered was that you wanted to work things out with Ray. He made you happy, and you made him happy, and goddammit you were going to commit to that!
You couldn't let him win this time, not when you had gone through so much effort to orchestrate the perfect surprise. It was time for Evasive Manoeuvres(TM).
Ray, lips already at your throat, immediately paused. He drew back, a deep furrow creasing the skin between his brows. “What the hell is that?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you responded innocently, as the dulcet tones of Jay Park cooing about fat asses transformed into the less dulcet tones of Lil Jon and The East Side Boys. You continued speaking slowly as the lyrics 3-6-9 DAMN SHE FINE, I’M HOPING SHE CAN SOCK IT TO ME ONE MORE TIME played on loop at the forefront of your mind. “I just think my lovely boyfriend should be a bit more patient instead of trying to ruin the surprise I worked very hard on.”
The look he shot you promised swift and punishing retribution, but you stood your ground. You both knew that if Ray really wanted to spoil the game, he had a million ways to do so, up to and including simply picking you up like the aforementioned misbehaving cat.
Kind of like right now. You let out a surprised squeak as Ray tossed you over one shoulder and headed for his bedroom. “Nice try, Star,” he remarked with a low chuckle that you felt acutely between your legs. "But you can't hide your thoughts from me forever. I plan to get it out of you tonight, one way or the other."
Approximately 18 hours later you glared at Ray from the front lobby of the beach resort as the desk worker happily announced that your room had been upgraded to a deluxe suite overlooking the beach. Charitably, he has chosen not to make fun of you, but you still stewed in your emotions as he carried both of your suitcases all the way to the elevator, through the connecting hallways, and into the massive bedroom. You wouldn’t have been able to manage anyway. Your thighs were still so sore that you’d almost missed the flight entirely.
You barely waited for the door to close before you couldn’t hold it anymore. “How did you know?!”
Ray blinked at you bemusedly, and then purposefully lifted a finger to point at himself. “Telepath.”
The pillow you lobbed at him came to a halt in front of his face and remained hovering in place before floating neatly back to the bed. The look he gave you could only be described as shit eating.
“You fucking – ARGH!” You covered your face with another pillow to muffle the mortified screeching. “I really thought I had you! How long have you known?”
“What?!” That had been ages ago, long before I’d even started looking up holiday destinations! “I’ll have you know that meditation is a perfectly normal activity! Why would that be suspicious?!”
Ray hummed thoughtfully, putting a hand to his chin while tipping his head back to stare up at the gorgeously paneled ceiling. “For a few weeks. Around the time you started practicing meditation. It was very suspicious.”
A scoff. “Star, you hate sitting still and not moving. You can’t even watch Netflix without either knitting or playing games on your phone, and I’m supposed to believe you just decided to start the one activity that’s about being calm?”
“Bastard,” you pouted, pulling away when he tried to corral you into his arms for an apologetic hug. “You’re so mean to me. Mean boyfriends don’t get kisses when they ruin surprises from their loving partners!”
“Then maybe little brats shouldn’t try to hide things from their superpowered boyfriends,” Ray snarked back, pinching the sides of your face with one hand and holding you still. The smile on his face was impossibly fond and filled with a heat unmatched by the blazing equatorial sun outside. “Still. This is the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me. Thank you, Star…” he murmured, leaning closer.
Just before your lips touched however, a familiar tune chimed from his phone. The resulting wince was Pavlovian, and you scowled across the room at the phone buried somewhere in Ray’s bag.
He twitched towards it, years of conditioning prompting his body even as it revulsed him, but you were faster. You grabbed Ray by the face and turned his head back towards you.
“I heard there’s a buffet downstairs,” you said. “It’s all you can eat seafood, and there's dessert!”
He blinked at you, attention split for a split second before focusing completely on your face. “Is food all you ever think about?” He chuckled, allowing you to tug him towards the door and out the room. “I should have lured you with free meals.”
“I don’t know,” you hummed playfully, shutting the door firmly on the NAHA and their bullshit. “I think you caught me just fine.”

"All I ask is that you stay with me until the end of the world. It doesn't matter if it's a month, a week, an hour from now- I want to spend the time I have left on this mortal coil with you, Sunshine."
Teaser image/soft cover for my next Binary Star Hero fanfic (it's taking forever because life and also, I've never written slice-of-life fluff before?). It's an epilogue/after story for the immediate aftermath of my first fic, Syzygy.
(Went with a different inking style because while I like digital sketching just fine, I just can't find a rendering style I'm comfortable with. I need a brush and ink in my hand😭)

Is it ok to make animatics or short animations for BNS? Or is that overstepping?
BNS? I'm not sure if you mean Binary Star Hero, but if so, I'm totally okay with it 😊!
I am okay with any fan creation (fan art, music, fan fic, fan animation, ect) NSFW or not NSFW 💕
The only thing I am really not okay with is selling merch of my characters. Please do not monetize anything to do with any of my characters or games❗️

While I normally don't read them, the thing that really gets to me are the gender swap(specifically Izuku only) or transgender character(normally Izuku as well), and how often these traits are used a props for angst or for porn scenes. Now I am fine with transgender and nonbinary people IRL, it's something about how the subject matter is used in fiction, that negatively affects the experience. While I am aware of the fact that Japanese is beginning to open up on these idea and that MHA takes place in a future version of modern Japan, which wouldn't bat an eye at transgendered characters as we do have a canonical transmale hero with the Wild Pussycat, there's just something more off about when Izuku is the subject character.
Now I am aware that gender swapping characters are likely one of the most common tropes used and is likely one of the first of types of fics a new writer would write about. I'm wondering if it's because of the combination with Izuku being Quirkless, that it combines ableism/disability with sexism/transphobia. Now yes, these are topics that need to be talked about and fiction is a good way to experiment on the writer's knowledge on these topics, it's another thing to go to the "stay in the house" idea or to make Izuku a prop in order to praise Bakugo, since female Izuku x Bakugo(or vice versa) is a common pairing. This isn't even going into the Omegaverse, which probably has its origins based off of a combination of transgenderism, that one redacted study on wolf hierarchy(where the author redo and investigated even more), and wanting to justify MPreg.
So I’m not really going to touch the trans/non-binary fanfics because it’s not my place to talk about them. I do agree that in canon, people wouldn’t really bat an eye to a trans and/or non-binary person, but I feel that those fics are made for the author to talk about trans/non binary issues, hence why the world’s more aggressive to them in these fics. It’s them writing their own experiences through fiction if that makes any sense and I have no place to criticize what they do in those fics.
For the gender swap, I actually have a fic that co-stars a female Izuku. Why did I make Izuku female? It’s to prove a point. A lot of people shit on Izuku for being overly emotional and that he should’ve stood up to Katsuki sooner. I feel that there’s a lot of sexism around these ideas and honestly feel that if Izuku was female, then no one would really have these claims and that Katsuki would be seen in a negative light. However, I do know that a good chunk of fics that star a female Izuku are mainly porn fics and are used as a means to write a straight BkDk story which has Izuku simply exist to be a prop for Katsuki. As someone who is a shipper, I like it when my ships are mutually beneficial to both parties rather than having one person be a prop or prize for the other and agree with what you’ve said there.

❤︎ Hi my name is Anne~! Welcome to my Blog! ❤︎
Tumblr media
❥ This blog is strictly for 18+ readers only So if you are under 18 or an ageless blog, do not interact. Please respect yourself by choosing content that is appropriate for your age! I will label my content accordingly (by specifying its contents on the top) but it’s not my job to manage you and your affairs so, I’m not going to be blocking anyone unless they specify they are under age within their blog or via comment. I trust that everyone who interacts with my page respects themselves enough to evaluate whether or not the content is appropriate for them.
❥ This blog will contain Yandere Content, which may includes themes of violence, substance usages, abusive or unhealthy behaviors, mental illness, death, bullying, sexuality, sexual behaviors and possibly other triggers that will be listed on the top of the post. If I ever miss a warning, please reach out and I will fix my mistake right away.
❥ By no means do I endorse the behavior in which I write about. The purpose of these writings is for entertainment only, no different then when one watches a horror movie or plays a Yandere based game—the reality being that it is just fiction. Obviously these behaviors in the context of reality are unhealthy and intolerable; never would I ever wish them upon someone. If you or someone you know is experiencing any of the negative thoughts or experiences I write about, then I strongly encourage you to seek help/ you to help them reach proper help.
❥ I do not write incest, characters under 18, or male reader fics. I don’t write make fic’s because I feel I couldn't do justice to the male perspective because I’m not a man, so I don’t quite understand that experience. However I will absolutely write gender neutral stories here and there, I would absolutely accept a GN Reader request, if it doesn’t include any of the things I just listed I won’t write.
❥ Requests are always open, unless specified they aren’t. Although I can’t promise I’ll get to them right away. I work part time and have full time college classes and along side that my home/social life has been quite busy so, please be patient with me. Also another disclaimer; None of the art on this page was created by me.
❥ What I write for: 14 days with you, Obscura, Binary Star Hero, Touched starved, Andromeda 6, Mushroom Oasis, The kid at the back, Ikemen Prince, Ikemen Vampire, Arcana, Haikyuu, Mha/Bnha, Black Clover, Arcana Twilight, Attack on Titan, Diabolik Lovers, Brothers Conflict, and more will be added.

1, 3, 5, 10, 11 for fic writer asks :)
💖💞💙✨
What is your favorite trope to write?
I'm a little at a loss for a proper trope I write frequently, but I do love writing family life after trauma.
What is the main program you use for writing (google docs, the ao3 writing text box, etc.)
Mostly Scrivener, with a dash of the notes app, of course. Scrivener is especially helpful for longer projects: I really like being able to drag and drop whole scenes if I want to, color code by POV character, track status of chapter drafts (vital for the kind of person who always writes out of order), save episode scripts and other research... I'm a fan. Only downside is not being able to access it on my phone, hence the notes app. (Now, if I could only get Google Keep actually syncing on my ancient tablet, so I could leave comments more easily...)
The fic you’re most proud of writing?
I am pretty sure my established answer for the rest of time, or at least this decade, will remain Those Binary Stars. I don't do longfic, I don't do interweaving plots... I really stretched myself for TBS. And all because I looked at the conundrum that is Joan Thursday, in all her complexity and inconsistency, and decided I absolutely had to get in her head. She's still one of the characters I consider mine, dismiss or devalue her over my dead body, you know? It's a softer version of the story, one we knew we could never have because that's the inherent tragedy of prequels, and it's morw hopeful than Morse's life would ever allow... but I think it works nonetheless, and I'm really proud of it.
Best/funniest comment you’ve ever gotten on a fic?
I think we can all say we especially appreciate those comments that notice something in our writing that we didn't consciously realize we were baking in. To that point, everyone who noted the rib imagery Lockwood uses to describe missing Lucy in Take His Hand and tied it to Adam and Eve is my hero, because that was definitely a subconscious association. Also, you and @polithicc both left comments that overlapped and significantly shaped portions of the second chapter; I was rereading Ana's comment earlier and yelped and immediately had to grab my laptop to add a line to a paragraph I've been wrestling with that finally made it fall into place. I've been blessed with quite a few mindblowingly encouraging or insightful or just plain kind comments, especially lately. 💕
Do you prefer writing angst, crack, or fluff?
I love them all and they have their individual merits; can I cheat and say my favorite is to combine all three in a single fic? No? Then I suppose I have to choose fluff, but I will say I've been enjoying finding my way back to writing more humor lately, and would like to aim for more of that. (Another wonderful comment example, @itripandfallalot said recently that I excel at writing humor and should do it more often and that's one of my writing goals for the next year for sure.)

Instead of updating the post I already made, I’m going to make a new one in hopes of getting this circulating again!! (If you’re seeing this, and wanna help a broke non-binary b*tch out, please reblog!! Maybe even add more tags if I forgot any, thank you!!)
I have fanfiction commissions open currently!! Lemme tell ya a little bit about ‘em!!
I charge $1 per $100 words, and $10 per 1k words!!** I accept payment on PayPal only!! This is because the funds will go into my PayPal Wallet where they will remain for future use. (Any and all tips are appreciated, but not required!!)
**I have since instated a word count limit; about 3.5-4k is my absolute limit at the moment. I will update this if anything changes.
I use Google Docs for these commissions, and by default I will not post your commission anywhere. If you’d like me to post it somewhere like AO3, please let me know!! (Also, let me know if you’d like to be kept anonymous if so.)
I do fandom and non-fandom fics!! Canon x OC is completely okay in my book, so long as it falls in line with what is deemed acceptable (no minor x adult or shipping relatives please). Here’s some of the fandoms I’m most familiar with:
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
My Hero Academia
Demon Slayer **
Berserk
DOOM
Resident Evil
Genshin Impact
Undertale/Deltarune
Stardew Valley
Pokémon (anime series & games)
The Persona/Shin Megami Tensei series
Marvel **
Star Wars **
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic **
Steven Universe **
Rick & Morty **
Gravity Falls **
**I need a refresher on the lore of these, but I’m still willing to do fanfiction about them.
I can do SFW or NSFW commissions, with (almost) any kink/fetish you like!! A few of the big NO’s are piss, scat, diaper, inflation (excluding cumflation)/blueberry, hard vore, and DDLG. Anything else is on the table!! (I would suggest still asking in case I forgot one, thank you!!) Please include links to examples of your kink/fetish if I have expressed that I’m not into it/not familiar with it.
I WILL NOT do detailed scenes of r*pe, and absolutely no scenes portraying inc*st or p*doph*lia. Those three are big no-gos for me, and no amount of negotiation will get me to write about such things. (I also will not hesitate to block/report if I have reason to believe someone supports these things.)
I am most certainly willing to negotiate most of these terms, but please be reasonable with your requests. If you’ve made it this far, thank you so much for your interest in my wares and services!!
To contact me, please DM here, on my Instagram (@x.ash_22.x), my Twitter (@x_ash22_x), or on my Discord, 🥀x.ash_22.x🥀#1977 !!

Ashly Burch’s Contribution to LGBTQ+ Representation
Tumblr media
Four of Ashly Burch's roles, all of which are canon LGBTQ characters
Recently, Ashly Burch, a well-recognized voice actress, singer, and writer, came out as pan and queer. Taking into account this development, I decided to examine some of her past roles and offer my thoughts on her contributions.
Reprinted from The Geekiary, my History Hermann WordPress blog on Feb. 11, 2023, and Wayback Machine. This was the forty-eighth article I wrote for The Geekiary. This post was originally published on July 30, 2022.
On July 1st, Ashly Burch came out as pan and queer, saying she is "old fashioned pansexuals". She added that this is not a shock because half the characters she plays are "members of the rainbow fam" and added more in a longer thread.
Burch has added herself to the list of other LGBTQ+ voice actors who have voiced LGBTQ+ characters in media. There's Anna Akana, a bisexual actress of Japanese and Filipino descent. She recently voiced Sasha Waybright in Amphibia and Daisy in Magical Girl Friendship Squad. Both characters are bisexual.
A non-binary actor, Iris Menas, has voiced non-binary characters in various Disney series. Ian-Jones Quartey, a bisexual creator, has voiced various characters, including Radicles "Rad" in his series, OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes. Abbi Jacobson, a bisexual actress, voiced a bisexual princess named Bean in Disenchantment. She also voiced a lesbian woman named Katie Mitchell in The Mitchells Vs. the Machines.
In many ways, Burch is definitely a queer icon. Apart from her video game voice roles, live-action roles, commercial roles, and dubbing roles, there are five roles that stand out to me. This article focuses on those roles and their significance in LGBTQ+ representation.
Ash in Hey Ash Whatcha Playin'
Tumblr media
Ashly with her beauties in Season 1 - Finale Part 1 of Hey Ash Whatcha Playin'
In May 2008, the series Hey Ash Whatcha Playin' first premiered on Destructoid. It would garner tens of millions of views. The series used surreal humor and sibling rivalry with her brother Anthony. Each episode focused on video games, and their themes, trends, and societal impacts. In 2011, the series began airing on YouTube. Papa Burch, Burch's actual father, and Ashley "Leigh" Davis, who becomes Anthony's girlfriend, also appear. Guest stars include Burch's mother and many others.
Many episodes had queer themes. One implies that Burch had sex with sex workers. In another, she says things can be "really gay" when everything becomes male genitalia. The icing on the cake was when she struggled with the homophobia exhibited by Orson Scott Card, whose ideas inspired the game, Shadow Complex.
In the show's second season, Anthony had gay sex through a message board. Ashly asked her dad for help with "lady problems" (i.e. liking a lot of women). Some episodes had Ashly joking about how brains are "gay" and defending her brother as a person who doesn't bash gay people. Others included dildos, Papa Burch coming up with imagined gay scenarios, or defense of female characters.
One episode stands out from the lot, the one where Ashly says she likes pretty girls and runs away when she sees a girl she likes. Later episodes have Ash loving a female villain-of-sorts or portray her losing her cool when people use the word "lesbians".
Enid in OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes
Tumblr media
Enid (left) and Red Action (right) in an episode of OK K.O.!
Burch is known for her role as Enid Mettle in this action-adventure-comedy animated series by Ian Jones-Quartey, Rebecca Sugar's husband. In the series, Enid is a bisexual woman previously in a relationship with Radicles "Rad". She is later Red Action's girlfriend.
Enid has a key role in OK K.O.! as a witch and a ninja all in one. She also fights villains and works at Gar's Bodega. Burch has voiced Enid in almost all her appearances apart from the original pilot. She has been the subject of much fan art and over 700 fan fics.
Somewhat like Enid is Lainey in Loud House, who Burch also voiced. Lainey is dating another character, a woman named Alice. Unlike OK K.O.!, Lainey only appears in two episodes. In the former series, she becomes very romantic with Red Action, a lesbian character voiced by actress, comedian, and model Kali Hawk.
Ash in Final Space
Tumblr media
Evra (left) and Ash (right) in an episode of Final Space
Burch is less known for her role as Ash Graven, who has the same first name as her. In the series, Ash is a humanoid alien who strikes up a romance with Evra (Jasmin Savoy Brown), a genderless being, in the Season 3 episode "Forgiveness". They sit together in a romantic moment, watching lights that resemble the aurora borealis.
Before this, she says she hates a man named Jordan Hammerstein with all her guts. This hints that she is a lesbian rather than  "ambiguously bi," as I noted in my review of the series. In that review, I noted a podcast where show creator Olan Rogers confirmed Ash as an LGBTQ character. At the time, Rogers said he would expand the relationship between Evra and Ash if he had another season.
Ash is only one of the many LGBTQ characters in the series, although the others are recurring characters rather than protagonists. Unlike Enid, she becomes an antagonist, and villain, akin to Cassandra "Cass" (Eden Espinosa) in Tangled. She is a character as complex as Cass while both are exploited by someone else who plays on her trauma triggers.
Rutile Twins in Steven Universe
Tumblr media
Rutile Twins (right) brings Lars and Steven to the Prime Kindergarten where Off Colors are hiding out in their debut episode.
In a little-known role, Burch voiced a non-binary Gem fusion named Rutile Twins in Steven Universe. She later said she was "extremely honored" to be on the show. Unlike the other characters she voiced, these characters are non-binary women, as are all Gems as Rebecca Sugar confirmed in a 2018 article. So that makes this character unique beyond any others mentioned in her resume.
In an interesting trivia, since Burch voices both components of the character, they have the same voice, but with different tones. The same is the case for the Amethysts, all voiced by Michaela Dietz, or all the Rubies voiced by Charlyne Yi. Real-life rutiles are said to help with the stabilization of emotions and relationships. They reportedly evoke romantic feelings and aid with handling past trauma.
The Rutile Twins are outcasts who are part of a group of Gems ostracized by society, the Off Colors. These Twins later join Lars Barriga, and the other Off Colors, traveling through space, and living on Earth. In Steven Universe Future, the Off Colors graduate from Steven's school for Gems, known as Little Homeschool.
Molly in The Ghost and Molly McGee
Tumblr media
Andrea (left) and Molly (right) in the "Andrea Song Takeover"
Burch voices a lead character named Molly McGee. Unlike her other roles, Molly is half-Thai and half-Irish, like Burch in real life. The series incorporates Thai culture into storylines and helps educate viewers about Thai culture.
In The Ghost and Molly McGee, Molly befriends a ghost named Scratch after moving to the Midwestern town of Brighton with her father, mother, and brother. Also appearing in the series is Molly's grandmother. She meets many friends there. This includes a Latine and Jewish girl named Libby Stein-Torres (Lara Jill Miller). She also has a geeky friend Sheela (Aparna Nancherla) and a sweet pink-haired friend, Kat (Eden Riegel).
Although Molly is not a canon queer character, some fans have shipped her with her frenemy, Andrea Davenport (Jules Medcraft), with their ship being Mollandrea. Others have shipped her with Libby Stein-Torres, with their ship called Mollibby. This ship has been denied by Bob Roth, a show creator, who said that LGBTQ representation unfolds naturally in the series.
Closing thoughts
There are many other characters Burch has voiced or played since her career began in 2007. She voiced Josette Grey in Blackford Manor and Tiny Ghost in Chainsaw Richard. She offered her voice as Lila Twinklepipes in Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Meadow Springs in Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, and Miss Pauling in Expiration Date, along with others in Over the Garden Wall and We Bare Bears.
She is further known for voicing Bun Bun and Breezy in Adventure Time, Ridley in Glitch Techs, and Cass Wizard in Bee and PuppyCat. Recently, she played Rachel in Mythic Quest who is in a relationship with a Black woman named Dana (Imani Hakim).
Many of these roles aren't canon LGBTQ+ characters. However, since Burch came out as pan and queer, this could lead to new interpretations of these characters. Burch was also a writer for "Shadows at the Gates", the fourth episode of The Legend of Vox Machina, a mature animated series filled with LGBTQ+ characters and based on the Critical Role podcast.
In the end, Ashly Burch will likely continue to voice queer characters, working with other such actors to continue improving queer representation in media.

This is so rushed and spun off from a truly unhinged discussion but I needed to write something for this AU while I have timeeee @tiffykins-yeah I hope this is at least semi entertaining lmao
The day Binary Star Hero turned against the heroes; the skies went dark.
Metaphorically of course. Strictly speaking, very little changed in the grand scheme of things. Although the NAHA, reporters, and anyone with a media presence certainly behaved as though the world itself had come to an end. Herschel was on the news lamenting the loss of the earth’s brightest star to the forces of darkness, news anchors would not shut up about the catastrophic consequences of losing the greatest hero mankind had ever known, and drama youtubers milked the controversy of the NAHA’s ignominious fall from grace as Binary Star Hero – real name Ray – exited the hero headquarters followed by a bevy of interns, office workers, and bottom-rung employees. Employees who, with vicious innocence, detailed the NAHA’s horrendous working conditions.
“We didn’t even have dental,” one sighed despondently. “My friend’s teeth haven’t been the same since that rock hero went on a rampage in the office.”
When asked the reason they had chosen to follow the new villain – was it blind worship? Stockholm syndrome? Were they being threatened in any way? – the gathering just scoffed.
“He’s paying my medical bills,” one replied. “The NAHA didn’t even want to pay for my insulin. I had to argue with like 5 different people to get it added to my benefits package.”
“Wait, you were getting benefits? I’ve been working on minimum wage for years!”
“You guys were getting paid?!”
At that point, the hero formerly known as Binary Star Hero attempted to fly away from the commotion, causing one of the former NAHA employees to yell something to the effect of “quick, follow that tacky sweater!” Which caused the crowd to peal off after the rapidly shrinking red dot in the sky, leading to several traffic obstructions, and signaling the start to a villainous career change.
Ray stared at clothing rack in front of him, at the five mannequins arranged in various dramatic poses, and finally at the group of expectantly waiting…what to call them? Underlings? Sure, that worked. The underlings stared back at him, some carrying more fabric while others held sewing kits, needles, thread, and baskets of accessories.
There was no need to read their minds to understand what they all wanted, but he still felt the need to ask. “What is this?”
“For your villain rebranding, the team decided on an aesthetic overhaul,” the one at the front announced brightly, gesturing to the steel rack that had been crammed with outfits in a range of dark colours – purples, indigoes, heavy shades of grey and even denser blacks. Some had capes, most did not. “Of course, this would all be easier if you would simply decide on a new name, but I suppose we can whittle down the choices later.”
Ray flashed back to the moment he’d walked past the conference room – a massive underground addition to his lair (he didn’t call it that, but the PR team were very Committed To The Bit) – and seen a horde of them gathered around the whiteboard and shouting suggestions at the person at the front. On the interactive surface were at least 50 names, though Ray only got through Lunar Eclipse and Superordinate Gravitational Collapse before he’d decided to leave that problem for Future Ray to sort out.
Unfortunately, the future had come. “This is completely unnecessary,” Ray plucked at the sleeve of one of the outfits and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was in fact not made of impossibly tight spandex. “I haven’t even had coffee yet.”
Another employee stepped up, swiping the screen of the iPad with a finger. “Sir, [MC] will be clocking into the afternoon shift in approximately one hour. Would you like to pick up your coffee then?”
“Hm,” Ray rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “What’s on my schedule before that?”
“Uh, there’s a senator you hate giving a bigoted speech about drag queens, then you wanted me to remind you to rob that bank on 6th Avenue,” another swipe across the screen, “oh, and you’re out of ice cream.”
“The speech should be happening in the park across from the coffeeshop where [MC] works,” one of the team piped up. “We can reschedule the bank robbery and take some casual photos of you at the coffeeshop. The mid-afternoon sun would be great for the Total Eclipse social media page!”
“Dude, we discussed this! The team hasn’t decided on a villain name yet!”
“For the last time, we’re not choosing your idea!”
“Fuck you, Dark Star is a great evil name!”
“We are not linking him to a shitty 90s movie!”
“You take that back!”
Taking advantage of their distraction, Ray turned his attention to one of his favourite groups in the team. “Any updates?”
The employee saluted – Ray had given up on making them stop doing that – and pulled out her own iPad. “Sir–” (“Don’t call me that.”) “–they liked the post of you singing while playing the guitar and left a sweating emoji on the latest shirtless pic.”
“What about the one of me saving a kitten at the shelter?”
“Unfortunately, it was flagged for violence after one of the team forgot to edit out the part where you tossed someone through the walls for having an unsolicited picture of [MC] as their phone-screen background.”
“Ah, right,” Ray nodded reminiscently. “That did happen, huh. Upload it again, and monitor. If that’s all…
He took off through the window, off to do various evil deeds and visit his favourite barista, while ignoring the screeching below as the two feuding members of the team finally stopped fighting long enough to notice his departure.
“FUCK, HE DIDN’T PICK A COSTUME!”
“SIR, AT LEAST CHANGE THE SWEATER!”

"I'm not going nowhere. I'd rather be right here with you. It's a long way down when you're standing at the top of the world; yeah, you take me to the top of the world."- The Used, "Top of the World"
FINALLY! My Binary Star Hero fanfic is complete! I mean, it's been complete for a long time, but it's finally fully posted!
Honestly, I'm thinking about writing an epilogue/after story for it. And then... I *kinda* want to maybe write a villian Ray AU fic because I'm not ready to give up my soggy caffine-addicted grunge boi yet. I have a 600k+word Attack on Titan longfic that I'm using BSH to avoid writing... Save me, Ray!

Tagged by @sadiemacoy -- list a favourite character from 10 favourite fandoms.
Now, do I even have 10 fandoms in ma brain *to* pick from.....
(Turns out, answer is "No". So I will be listing my favourite characters from what seems to be my brain's current fixations)
Critical Role - Caduceus Clay / Grog Strongjaw / Laudna
I couldn't pick individual people, so I've listed, in order, my favourites from each of the 3 main campaigns. We've got out of place asexual loner with a heart of gold and a penchant for reason in a world of chaos in Cad; No Thought, Only Heart and Instinct for Grog; and misunderstood weirdo with a love of both the arts and a strong independant woman what don't need no man (but wouldn't say no to a woman if she were to try and fill that void) in Laudna
RWBY - Neopolitan
I love this little shit so much! And now that I fully identify as Non-Binary, having my favourite character be someone who can alter their appearance at the literal drop of a hat makes so much sense. Also, Ice Cream Aesthetic
God of War - Kratos (Norse era)
I liked the overarcing spectacle of the Greek era, and TC Carson was a fantastic Greek Kratos, but Norse era Kratos is just a whole other man and I am here for his growth. Christopher Judge conveys so much with so little; he's like the father I never had
Star Wars - Anakin Skywalker (Clone Wars era) / Darth Vader
If you think about it, he's a Gifted & Talented Kid that got pushed to the point of breaking. Especially when we got Season 7 of The Clone Wars and we saw the overlap of it and Ep.III. And then there's Vader. I have never really seen someone command a presence in everything he's in just by being there. He literally needs to *breathe* and that's most people done. He just shows up in Jedi: Fallen Order and everyone *knew* that we were fucked
Sly Cooper - Bentley
(I have to pick Bentley because apparently "The track 'Paris Rooftops' from the Sly 2 OST" can't be a character)
Joking aside, Bentley overcame his nerdy social anxiety and thrived when he had to face the world alone. And then when Clock-la happens and he becomes paralysed, he didn't stop. He adapted. I thrive to be like that eventually. But also, turtle: things going bad? Just jump into your shell
The Last of Us - Ellie Williams
Ah, my little Les-bean. Reminds me of a close friend, what with the arting and the guitar and the singing and the gayness
Sonic the Hedgehog - Shadow
An even darker and edgier speedy hedgehog? Yes please! But also, Shadow (especially in the games I played as a wee lad - Sonic Heroes & Shadow the Hedgehog) had a whole lot of uncertainty in his life and had to discover and forge his own path. Being told he's so many different things and having to decide whether that's what he wants to do and listen to one of their stories, or become his own individual person away from the pressures of everyone else
Dragon Ball - Future Trunks
What's that? My favourite Dragon Ball character has a hero complex, wherein he tries to prevent any ill-fate before it happens by going back in time to change the past, hopefully making his future a better place, only to find out that protecting them did nothing for him and he ended up sad and depressed anyway? .........nope, can't relate ......to the time travelling part
DBZ Abridged also helped by constantly drawing Doctor Who parallels with him, and that was one of my many childhood / teenage hyperfixations soo.....
Dead by Daylight - The Dredge
Got to give thanks to HighKingMargo on AO3 for delving into some lore of DBD that I wasn't aware of in their amazing fic "This Hunger, It Isn't You", but when I looked and really paid attention to everything, I kind dug the vibe of The Dredge. Long story short - it's a SUPER fucked up amalgamation of cultish despair that manifested as a shadowy mass of limbs and general ick. I'm not much of a horror fan, but of all the (non-license) Killers in the game, I adore this disgusting thing
Marvel - The Hulk
A man with a curse to be the worst version of themselves when pushed, so decides to live a life of relative solitude and ease for fear that the less people are around them, the better? And with that, the absolute power fantasy of having almost free reign to be as strong as I need to be in any given moment. Hmm, I guess I'll focus on that one. Also, they're literally part of the reason my blog is named BIGGREENneatbox
BONUS 11th: Avatar: The Last Airbender - Uncle Iroh
It's Uncle Iroh.
Well, now that fustercluck and self-realisation journey is out of the way... @dvdson @geekg1rl3 @calxiyn you try

The Main Character
Tumblr media
"I'm the main character and you have to like me." - Will Wood's The Main Character
Rating: Teen
Relationships: None
Characters: Elliot Carver
(Character study fic with no dialogue) Carver saw his news stories through the lens of a novelist. Only instead of prose, he conveyed a story through the cadence in his voice paired with vibrant footage. He's playing both the role of hero and villain.
Word Count: 1,061
Also down here below!
Good and evil were concepts that were deemed in constant war with each other. Over the years, Elliot Carver had taken notice of how the masses tended to divide groups into heroes and villains. Even if subconsciously, people were inclined to place facets of a story to moral binaries to simplify events. It was easier to keep track of two sides than everything in between. Especially on an evening broadcast, people needed easy to follow glimpses of the world. There was no need for discussion on who was right or wrong when that was laid out for them before their eyes.
When it came to the realm of tragedy, that was when the binaries of heroes and villains became clearer. People were looking for who to blame and what to deem truly vile in the world. Thus, Carver made sure that the news readily gave them a villain to give their attention to.
Each script was carefully written to cater to what the masses wanted to see. Every single one had formulated a perfect narrative for them.
Carver saw his news stories through the lens of a novelist. Only instead of prose, he conveyed a story through the cadence in his voice paired with vibrant footage. For narrative success, a good hero and an equally good villain were key to maintaining one's attention. He built up each story to a climax, fueled by an antagonistic force in the world of his creation. It made the audience wonder when and how the plot would turn from there. They wanted to see if there were any heroes to be the saving grace to a tragedy. It kept them coming back to see how the plot would be concluded until the next installment was written.
As ratings soared, Carver couldn't help but enjoy how it felt to be considered both a hero and villain. Carver couldn't simply settle having the attention of one end. He wanted the feeling of both at once. What good was there being a hero if he couldn't have anything to fight? How horrible would it be if a villain existed without anyone to provide hope?
Either way, he was the star of his own show.
He was his own protagonist and antagonist in a story he had written for himself.
Carver kept up a heroic front, presenting himself as the righteous beacon of truth. He had pretended to be a virtuous man who advocated for the people beneath him. With a theatrical flair that mirrored the courageous speeches of literary heroes, he had made empty vows to protect others. His words were just as flourished as novels with the right devices to convince people that he was truly faultless.
That feigned heroism was what garnered the widespread love the public had given him. They wanted to see him win a manufactured fight and reign victorious. Crowds cheered for him whenever he went on stage, hoping that he would stand triumphant.
When evils were on the rise, the people turned towards him for some resemblance of reason.
How pathetic.
He considered it a shame that no one had figured out the cruelty behind his persona. That no one had realized that he played the villain as well.
He reveled in villainy to its fullest. He adored playing God and seeing how people scrambled to fix what he had started. Under a self-imposed challenge, he wanted to see how far he could go to achieve the best ratings. Destruction was a decadent art he had devoted himself to. He was a dandy who loved seeing himself and the atrocities he had committed in the mirror.
No matter where he stood in the public, Carver likened himself more to a malevolent force more than anything. He was a hero, but only in public. Holding the world at gunpoint was what he was best at. Smirking and enjoying each second he saw the ratings ascend.
Elliot Carver knew full well that he was far from a good person. It was merely a farce he had created to appeal to a global audience. If he wanted to make it through the world and be recognized for it, being a genuinely good person would do nothing for him. He stopped trying to be a good person when he took notice of how the world was inherently cruel. Tragedies had occurred without his influence regardless with no structure to them.
What was of substance to him was how people were receptive to horrific events. They were engrossed in them, even if the only connection they held was a broadcast on a screen.
He decided to see how well he could fare if he could force a tragedy into something coherent. With iambic pentameter in news headlines, he wanted to attract more people into watching his broadcasts. Moreover, the thought of creating tragedies himself had struck him and stayed in his mind.
One after another, he was in ecstasy from the sheer power he welded. Carver managed to have all of the fame and glory he could have ever wanted at his fingertips.
That was when he knew that he couldn't turn back on being a villain. He was drunken with how wonderful it felt, addicted to the charade.
Soon enough, he considered himself to be the exemplar for villains. He had managed to get away with inflicting atrocities and was revered for how he covered it up. The public loved his broadcasts with little knowledge of where the information truly came from.
The buzzing of breaking news was music to his ears. It was perfectly engineered for the masses and what the world wanted to display.
If the world wanted a hero, he would be a siren's song in visual form. He would be the guiding light for people that wanted the truth, holding it above their heads.
If the world wanted a villain, he would gladly epitomize that role and bring his best performance. He would put it out on display on television for the world to regard.
He was whatever the people needed and wanted.
He would author an epic if it meant that he could cement himself in history. He would do anything to make sure that he would continue to be worshiped.
He was the main character of his story and wanted to be seen as such by the entire human race.

Help me decide my NaNoWriMo 2023 project!
FinMo for a novel I’ve completely ran out of steam on (silghtly over 1/4 done with first draft), love this idea like its my child but I keep pulling blanks despite a strong outline
BRAND New idea, pure new idea excitemnet, only a half thought out idea of what will happen and some tropes, zero planning or outine
New-ish idea, kind of predicted a “canon event” in my life, has that new idea charm and excitement but next to least planned out (just a handful of main plot points)
Older (unwitten) idea(s): less of the new idea charm, but pretty well planned out
50k Fic-athon: back to basics, write fanfic(s) until at least 50k, great for speed/ goal reaching and practice, but minimal to no chance of traditional publication in the future even with tweaking
(Pretty much all romance novels, just where I’m most comfortable currently)
Edit to add a little more about the ideas themselves:
1. road-trip set (eventual) romance novel set in the late 1970s, grumpy/sunshine, (technically) forced proximity, racially diverse
2. Superhero novel, Villain/Hero, Slight age gap, found family, rom-com esque but no shotage of drama or action
3. supernatural romance, could easily be a series in the future, town full of supernatural beings, LGBT inclusive, Non-binary protagonist, probably qualifies as terato if it gets spicy at all
4. Older ideas:
Superhero Idea B: More antihero than villan x hero, multiple plot twists, slower burn, Spoiler- vaugely inspired by The Boys
Ghost town: litteraly- a haunted town, Protag on the run crashes there. enemies to lovers, fun lore
Ghost romance B: Protag buys a suspiciously cheap larger home in the (English?) countryside. Turns out it’s haunted by a “glorified Mr. Darcy” (if he got to see the marching of time from the regency- the present), reverse of the usual grumpy/sunshine (female protag is the grump)
Fandoms would include: Marvel (various), Star Wars, Doctor Who, Ghost (the band), maybe more

About me
Hi there!
I’m Emma, a 22 year old humanities student who likes to write in her free time. There’s not a whole lot more to say about me right now, but there’s a whole lot more to say about what I write, have written and will write.
This is my side-blog, my main is i-love-my-exhoes so if that blog interacts with you, know that it’s me! (please don’t mention this blog on there though, my sister follows that one lol). I used to be an obey me blog (which is why my entire masterlist is just obey me right now) but I’ve decided to branch out, mostly because I HAVE been writing for other fandoms I’ve just been not posting any of that.
The fandoms I write for now include but are not limited to (meaning I’ve probably some and I’ll add others on a whim):
Obey me!
Genshin impact
Honkai star rail (not Honkai impact, sorry)
Final fantasy (only 7/15)
Kingdom hearts
Haikyuu
My hero academia
Blue lock
Jujutsu Kaisen
This blog might feature dark content in the future but as of right now the darkest content I have is regular ol’ smut. I will also take care to add proper warnings (something that might’ve been lacking from my old writing but luckily those didn’t have potentially triggering content).
Requests
I will generally be taking requests most of the time (unless my inbox is flooding), they just take a fat while for me to finish so if I haven’t replied to your request please keep that in mind :)
as for things I don’t write, there’s not a whole lot I can think of besides the basics but if I’m uncomfortable writing something I say so. The basics of what I don’t write are:
scat
vore
snuf
So please don’t ask about those.
I usually write x reader but I can write character x character too on occasion.
If not added to the request I will default to a female reader as that is what I’m most familiar with, I can write male readers too but I struggle with non-binary readers (I just never know which words to use for the smut parts that don’t make it sound too awkward to me).
Please when requesting give me something to go on, this can be a setting or a prompt or a super detailed description, whichever works for you but a “please write zhongli x reader” will just stress me out.
If not added to the request (or strongly fitting the setting) I will write the reader submissive, again just what I’m most familiar with.
I’ve mostly done fics up until now but I also do headcanons! for those I don’t take more than five characters at a time and the same rules apply as the other requests.
I used to do matchups but for now I’m steering away from those as it’s a lot of work that tends to get little gratitude in return (like I fully understand if you don’t reblog or even like other’s matchup but PLEASE, I just considered your whole ass personality at least reblog your own matchup T-T) If I ever open those requests again I will mention it both here and in a separate post.
If there’s more to be added I will add it here later, for now thank you for reading all this and I hope to hear from you!
