🚨 Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza:

An urgent appeal for sending blood units from outside the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip appeals to all international and Arab institutions, especially the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Red Crescent Society in the Arab and Islamic countries, and the Arab Blood Transfusion Services to urgently work on providing blood units and their components from all blood groups due to the dire need to save the lives of patients and the wounded.

The Ministry of Health suffers from a lack of basic materials for blood donation, whether empty blood bags or viral testing materials, as well as blood group tests, as our people in the Gaza Strip have donated more than 40,000 blood units during the aggression despite the harsh conditions they are living in from displacement and starvation.

We call on all relevant parties to respond urgently to our appeal and send large quantities of life-saving blood units for the wounded and sick in the Gaza Strip.

okay, i think any time anyone asks what superpower we’d like to have most everyone on this website would say shapeshifting but what kind of shapeshifting would you like

Donating blood is a great way to help someone and demonstrate goodwill to your community. There can be various reasons why someone needs your blood such as severe injury, surgeries, or anemia. But the main question here is whether you are eligible to donate blood or not. And if you are a medical marijuana consumer, does consuming marijuana disqualify you from donating blood.

Just out of curiosity; does putting a blood donor sticker on your door or in your window keep Jehovah's Witnesses away in other countries? I never see it mentioned when people complain about constant visits from them but here it’s common knowledge that a blood donor sign/sticker works like a cross against vampires.

I was never bothered by them until we moved into our latest house and suddenly they showed up every other week. Unfortunately i can’t donate blood because of my medication but I got hold of a blood donor window sticker and now we only know they were in the area because they left their Watchtower magazine in our mailbox.

Went to donate blood again today. Before Covid, one got a warm meal at the end of the session and as much chocolate and softdrinks as one wanted. Now, you usually get a bag with goods or shopping or petrol vouchers. Today, the bag contained ingredients to make veggie lasagna (and chocolate and a drink, of course). I think it’s kinda cool that they included the fresh veg, especially the (not so little) aubergine.
