jeonghan: i think he’d be so so so sweet with kids, but that he’d get burnt out easily. he also strikes me as the type to constantly prank his own kids?? teaching them something that is so completely false for his own enjoyment, like that time he convinced minghao a shopkeeper would accept shellfish as payment in lieu of money ☠️ he would also help them set up a lemonade stand with questionable business ethics so they can swindle the neighbors out of their money. watch out — your kids are forming a crime syndicate of bratz dolls and are plotting an elaborate art heist from barbie’s dream house.

joshua: he doesn’t believe in the needless gendering of hobbies, so EVERYBODY is learning how to bedazzle shit, make friendship bracelets, build with clay, play ball games, etc. absolutely kills it with an easy-bake oven. your kids think he’s weird and they’re right. their father is insane, but in a fun and whimsical way that makes their friends jealous. he’s also def the dad who volunteers for shit at school, like chaperoning field trips, etc. he probably bakes them shit to share on their birthdays, while keeping in mind everybody’s allergies 🤧

junhui: i think junnie and his kids have some secret language amongst themselves that you don’t understand? he’s their favorite — sorry. he’s not great with sports and neither are your kids, but he will go to every single peewee league soccer game (rain or shine) and treat them to ice cream as if they won, even though they lost terribly. he’s amazed by every single thing they do, too. adding non-milestone shit to the baby book because he’s so proud of them for burping and farting at the same time.

soonyoung: he has no idea what the hell or fuck he’s doing, but he tries so hard and loves so completely. your kids’ homework is just as confusing to him as it is to them; regardless, he will stay up all gd night with them to finish it if that’s what it comes down to. he shows baby pictures to every single person he passes to brag about his kids, 100%. he has more energy than them, tho, so they have to tell him when it’s time for a break during whatever backyard game they’re playing. unlikely to let them win because they need to learn how to lose graciously 😇

wonwoo: so sorry to say this but all of your kids’ teachers are in love with him. i feel like he would volunteer to coach your kids’ xyz team despite never having played xyz sport because he wants them to feel supported. does he know what he’s doing? no, but neither do the kids, so what does that matter? def wouldn’t be surprised if you woke up in the middle of the night and found him gazing adoringly at your sleeping kid from the doorway like 🫠 UGH.

jihoon: surprise! parenthood made jihoon physically affectionate, though he still likes to pretend that’s not the case! he always has one sitting on his shoulders, the other(s) clinging to his legs, and he adores it; you catch him grinning when he thinks you’re not looking and he immediately gets flustered. it’s not at all uncommon to find him passed out on the couch with a sleeping kid on his chest — and they have matching expressions, even when they sleep. your kids have 40,000 different extracurriculars because their dad is good at everything, so… uhhh, i hope he got his license to help with all the carpooling back and forth, lmao.

seokmin: also in the “i don’t know what i’m doing but i’m so fucking happy to be here” camp. world’s biggest hype man for his kids — damn near petitioned the government for a parade when they took their first steps, etc. i feel like he’d THRIVE with telling bedtime stories and make-believe games. creativity is off the charts, but in that very unhinged way we know and love. oh, your kids don’t want to eat their veggies? he’s created a whole ass play that teaches them the value of fiber. and it WORKS.

mingyu: omfg he is absolutely the dad that all his kids’ friends have crushes on. there are always 40,000 children at your house for this reason, and because mingyu makes the absolute fucking cutest/most elaborate packed lunches, and everyone is jealous. he coaches your kids’ sports team and is actually qualified. he’s wrapped around their finger — the epitome of “the other parent said no” so they run to him to get whatever they want, and he caves EVERY TIME. he pouts more than they do, too, so good luck!!

minghao: omg your kids are going to be so shockingly well-adjusted but also extremely old for their age, lmao. he’s got the toddler speaking affirmations into the mirror every morning. they’re waxing poetic about nature. they’ve converted his morning tea ceremony to a tea party, except they’re actually fully partaking in the meditation with him — albeit from a plastic princess teacup. no kid has ever expressed gratitude as frequently and as sincerely as his!!

seungkwan: his kid is def the type to hang out with the adults during their own classmate’s birthday party, lmao. he raised charming little schmoozers who are well-connected and beloved by all their elementary teachers. he’s also big on self-sufficiency, i think? like, he teaches them early on that shit like cooking, cleaning, etc. is not eomma’s purpose in life; and they better pitch in (although none of them — including him — forego the dramatics when they have to touch wet food in the sink, etc.) he’s a one-man cheer squad. he showed up to your kid’s class concert with a fan chant he spent all night creating, and he yells it with his full chest, unabashed.

vernon: omggg. the chillest dad 🥲 he’s not the voice-raising type, so any time he needs to step in and parent, it’s the gentlest, most empathetic shit. i feel like his kids think he’s the coolest dude who has ever lived and want to be exactly like him, so they pick up all his interests?? they probably have a weekly movie night and discuss their thoughts while he’s tucking them into bed afterwards ☠️ imagine them dissecting the themes of shrek while he’s checking for monsters in the closet adhdsjakfnwksnf.

Anon, while this is a perfect opinion, I cannot possibly pick favorites when I adore them all sm.

Like, they’re all so darling to me for different reasons and I just can’t sweep any of them aside 😭 Now, if you mean best fighters—there isn’t a lie.

Ron actually knows Karate, so he put on a swift and more accurate performance. Billy was just a fast learner and has the leg flexibility of a Bratz doll.

I think Tommy would have gotten better over time and made it to their level. I think Dutch is too aggressive and just tries to bull his way through his fights which doesn’t work in a sport that needs a real strategy (he reminds me of a chihuahua that growls if you even look at it<3). And Jimmy I think was always doing karate for the fun of it. We didn’t even get to see him fight in the tournament:( I think he’s a great observer which is why he doesn’t talk very much (delusional) and can probably pick up on things pretty easily, so if he really wanted to be champion or Kreese’s favorite, he would have been more upset being at the sidelines rather than jittering with happiness when his buddies won.

Yesterday I started writing a letter to MGA Entertainment (toy company) to let them know I’m begging for reproductions of Bratz dolls I would like to have again.

This is what I said to them:

To whom this may have the honor of reading.

This is day one of me GROVELING and promising my money, to you dear lovely MGA employee. Please end my suffering by reproducing my favorite dolls I could never own because my mom thought that Bratz meant SLUTS in English. I told her every time it did not mean sluts but she would not believe me cuz some lady on TV said they were.

I would go to Target every weekend with my mom and STARE at the dolls and beg my mom to buy them. One day my prayers were answered for my birthday in 2004. My godmother heard my prayers and bought me Bratz Twiinz, Phoebe and Roxxi for my birthday. Phoebe's charm was a little angel and I loved her because my surname is Angel, she was like me. From then on my THIRST for more Bratz dolls was insatiable. I NEEDED MORE! I could only wait till my birthday, it was the only time my yearning could be answered by my godmother.

I then received on my next birthday Bratz Twiinz, Orianna and Valentina. Finally that year my mom bought me a Bratz for the first time, Back To School Phoebe (my fav). Later on I was gifted by my godmother my final Bratz doll, Play Sports Katia. I finally had a doll with the same name as me. She was only missing the silent "H" my name has, but she didn't need it, it was said the same way.

From then on there were only 3 Bratz dolls I have always wanted but never could receive. Wintertime Wonderland Dana, Spring Break Leah, and Back to School Cloe.

In my next letter I will go into detail on why these dolls were chosen as the objects of my attention and how over 20 years later I finally realized I had adult money I could use to buy dolls, but I will end this letter with its true purpose.

I will beg for a reproduction of Bratz Twiinz Phoebe & Roxxi, Back to School Phoebe, and Spring Break Leah.I know I can not be greedy and hope for all my dolls to be reproduced. I know you are part of a company whose purpose is to bring joy to little children and make a profit. So I have to be selective with my selfish requests.

I today am on a busy catch-up day, and I truly just felt like throwing on whatever and getting my shit done! So, first of all, let me say that if you’re here too, you’re valid and still a stunning, intelligent queen. You’re allowed days off. But my goal is to reach the point in my aesthetics where even on days off, I still feel my best self, so here’s advice for you guys and also for myself! Making jeans and a t-shirt cute

tuck the t-shirt in, be it fully, the french tuck, or to one side, anything to givr a bit of an interesting shape.

Wear a crop top, or crop your existing t-shirt yourself.

Tie it in the front for a different silhouette

Roll up the sleeves to make it look a little bit more intentional.

^ on that note, cuff your jeans!

Accesorise- match the colour of your scrunchie to your t-shirt, pick earrings that match the colour of the graphic on your shirt, wear a hip/wallet chain that evokes a pattern in your top, use the colour of hardare as a throughline in a monochromatic fit eg black outfit, gold earrings, gold belt buckle, gold bag chain.

Work your shoes, bag, and overlayers into the mix too- a red top and red shoes, white jeans and a white backpack, black jacket with black jeans

Hoodies and Sweatshirts

You can experiment with shapes here too- cropped, those K-Pop style ones that are essentially just the hood with sleeves.

Colour is your friend- pick a hoodie that’s bright and colourful so you still feel happy and fabulous. I used to slounge in exclusively dark hoodies and it wasn’t helping.

University sweatshirts!! A Harvard one is so very on my wishlist. You can also do clubs and societies hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts. I still have one from school, and I super regret not getting my university cheerleading one!

You don’t have to default to leggings either (but you’re so valid if you do!). Kaiti Yoo on YouTube has such good examples of how to do sloungey-chic. There are also K-Fashion influences to look at. Speaking of, K-Pop Dance Videos

Being a Blink is my main K-Pop enthusiasm, so that’s my inspo!

Jennie: Her Adidas and shorts combo in Shut Down is a simple black top with a racing stripe, or just an actual Adidas moment, and a black denim skirt or shorts.

Rosé: In Pink Venom, she’s wearing what honestly looks like a strappy sports bra and cargo trousers. If that’s not your comfort zone, swap for a tank top or tee. Both are black.

Jisoo: For Kill this Love, Jisoo is black wearing shorts and thigh socks and a crop top

Lisa: Lisa’s outfit in Lalisa is just pair of grey sweatpants tied at the waist for a bit of a snatch and a powder blue crop top.

All of these outfits are dance-appropriate, and mostly black, but have elements that make them a bit more fashion such as the monochrome that looks styled, Lisa’s tied sweatpants, or Jisoo’s socks.

His partner drags him to gym class despite him hating sports and working with groups. He makes up a lame excuse and uses puppy dog eyes, and they somehow work. He's a mess but his partner finds it endearing.

hi!! i have a WSIW request, i want to dress more girly. i've always been a bit of a tomboy, i've been in all kinds of sports ever since i was a kid and growing up with an older brother, i just naturally drifted away from being feminine, but now i want to embrace it. i really like the style of the 2000s, like the flowy shirts, flared jeans and the cropped pants the bratz girls wore (capris?), but i usually wear athleisure type clothes so i don't really know how to incorporate my own style into that. i don't know if this helps but i also like light colors, especially baby blue and yellow. thank you in advance!

I'm super excited that you have started a journey in figuring out your own personal style. Getting into fashion can be super rewarding, fun, and experimental. So keep trying until something sticks!

Here are a few of my suggestions to get you started!

So, for anyone who has begun trying to discover their inner fashionista and step away from perhaps more 'basic' and thoughtless looks you are totally on the right track with looking at Bratz. With the Bratz, its not always about wearing skirts and dresses to appear more 'feminine', they often look at texture, colour and the occasion they are dressing for.

As you can see in this picture, the girls stick to a casual crop top and either capri jeans or pants. As these tend to shorten the leg (But in my opinion emphasize the glutes!) a chunky heel adds a girly-girl flair and flatters the body. As you can see, the glamorous factor is emphasized by sparkling earrings, bracelets, and a chunky belt to bring it all together. This kind of look can be dressed up, or you could wear it casually and be remembered as a walking Bratz doll, an honorable title to keep!

In this image, we see their use of textures, prints and colour-- just from a first glance I am noticing what appears to be silk, lace, ruffles and velvet. For a more dressed up look, look at materials and textures you associate with more classically feminine outfits like these. As seen in the bottom right, you do not always have to have your legs and stomach out to achieve this either. A flowy top with a ruffle trim is balanced out with flares to provide a flattering silhouette. Often, when one item is a single colour, or appears more plain-- it will be paired with something more eye catching or printed, with a pattern or animal print to elevate the look.

To step away from athleisure but remain in your comfort zone when you are getting started, I suggest a velour co-ord of some kind! Whether its a full tracksuit, or a sweat-material top and matching skirt. Not only is this a 2000's style staple, but it may feel more familiar for more comfortable days. It's girly-factor can be upped by being paired with a mini bag (Essential!) appropriate shoes and jewelry. You can get these in any colour, and they don't have to be Juicy Couture to get the message across.

If you feel nervous about diving in headfirst, you can still go for more 'sporty spice' apparel. This still comes across totally 'girly' to me, with sport-themed, co-ords, baby tee's, skirts / shorts and even baseball caps (Which looks super cute with a cropped / baby tee, low/mid waisted jeans and any shoes. To me this screams football wife / courtside cutie!)

Carolyn Bessette

She was a publicist at Calvin Klein when she met the king of prep, my personal hearthrob, JFK Junior. I love this deatched vibe that you get from her and well JFK Junior got that too from her. I  loved her because she gotJFK Jr but I love her even more because she has never not looked good. 

Carolyn’s style in three words would be simple, androgynous and straightforward. She doesn’t venture into anything too colourful or too risque but that is what works with her look and why she looks good all the time. Her style is a result of having a solid capsule wardrobe with items she van rotate throughout the year. But her capsule wardrobe is slightly different from the modern 2020 capsule wardrobe. What I love about Carolyn is the lack of blazers. Instead she uses long coats, long sleeved knits or she just goes sleeveless. Constantly wearing a blazer (imo) isn’t as stylish as people think it is, it is very easy to use a blazer as a scapegoat when you know your outfit is heading south. Sure, there isn’t alot of variety  in her style but that 'simpleness' is what looks good on her and her commitent to that, is why she looked good all the time. 

 The basics of her style is a button down, trousers and loafers. In most of her pap photographs she is wearing a variation of this. During warmer months, she switches to a silk skirt. She wasn’t a accessoriezer either or a makeup girlie. Infact in most of her pictures she is only sporting red lipstick and her hair either out and in a bun.

Regardless she has the coolness about her and she complimented JFK Jr well... a lot of people did not think so but I say she did.

Autumn/Winter?

Long silhouettes work beautifully during winter. Long A-line coats made with good quality wool are some of the best types of coats. Thicker knits layered on top of each other paired with structured trousers. I like to advise my friends to keep their knits and cardigan loongg. Long shilotues are very pleasing to the eye, it makes you look more uniform and it makes you look taller with a silmming effect.  If you are petite and/or you have a large bust, avoid crowding your neck with knitwear. High necks tend to make women with bigger bust look congested and stuffy. ( It also gives us the most unforgiving uniboob too) Try more v-line neckline or scoop neckline with knits, also I tend to avoid thick knits as the volume of the fabric makes me look clunky and not oversized chic. 

In a style where everything is so consistent, colour is how you are going to look different. You would think people would wear darker, rich colours in the colder months but they don’t. There is no need to be mono-chromatic all the time and again being dressed in mono-chromatic head to toe, isn’t the hallmark of good style. Carolyn used a lot of red to stop her outfits from looking repetitive. I think red is avery underrated colour. You only ever see it in lingere or silk-satin dresses because people only associate sensuality with red and compelty ignore that red also means power. Red in coats has the power to draw you in becuase you look different but the sleekness of your style isn’t screaming clown from the travelling circus but powerful lady coming through. 

Carolyn (i say as we were besties) loved wearing loafers. I think she wore them a lot because loafers show skin which helps break up an outfit. Because she wears a lot of long silhouettes and matching dark trousers and dark footwear, it is good to wear something that breaks up your body so you don’t look like a long line with no feet. Ballet flats are coming back and they do the same thing as well. Boots are another staple. I love pairing boots and long dress together. For the Carolyn Bessette look I would ditch the bratz esque knee high boots for something that is more loose with a moderate heel height.

Spring? Summer?

Personally, I am resortwear kind of girl. Heavily perfumes, heavily adorned and in soft fluttering fabrics is how you will find me. But Carolyn, nope. She still maintains those structures in her clothing choice during the summer months. Boxy oversized shorts, structured linen shorts (I highly reccomend everyont to have one pair in cream or beige, its such an essential), sandals, chinos, ribbed cami and silk-satin dresses that end just under your knee. 

Hamptons chic is her summer style. Linen, cotton and merino wool for the chiller knits. This is the time to wear the lighter colours of your favourite colours. If you want (and Carolyn did this) you can wear the same ensemble of an outfit but with lighter fabrics.

What I have noticed that is different in her spring/summer style and her autumn/winter is that there is a certain laissez-faire in her dressing style. Top buttons are undone, her hair is messier and she is relaxed. Her hair was always unkept but I think that really worked for her.

Overall her style is very model-off duty-esque. There isn't really anything that stands out about her style from the next model but her style is undeniably hers. Apart from her marriage to JFK Jr her cool style is what she is remembered for. Everyone who met her in NYC would say that her style and grace were what caught their eyes. She had a way of holding her neck eye and she has this look that nothing could truly surprise her. It was her who truly established the minimalist look when fashion was heading straight to colour, glitter and prints. I miss her and I think about her all the time and I hope as she looks down from heaven that she is the blueprint and 20 years later people still want to emulate her signature look.
