arthur rises again, but is in the timeline of earlier seasons. he sees merlin and hugs him tight and merlin is utterly confused. i mean, he knows arthur, but arthur thinks hes a bumbling fool, so why is he hugging him and crying and thanking him and apologising? arthur sees how sweet and innocent merlin used to be and gets sad over how self sacrificial and unhappy he became and does everything he can to try and keep him that way, thinking the least he can do for him in return is keep is happiness, only leading to the same ending.

another is arthur rises again and finds a love for nutella. he then debates with merlin about whether peanut butter or nutella is better. also arthur loves the jean jackets merlin got him for his return. alSo merlin plays piano now and arthurs lovestruck
