I can see a massive reunion tour, spanning all continents and going on more than a year, while they work on solo music and then solo tours after the group one, once they put out enough solo songs. The group is over, they are too different musically, they will just use the brand and live off their back catalog. Maybe just a couple of new songs to put in a re-edition of the HYYH trilogy and grab more cash on top of the tour... Or another album like BE : solo songs adapted to the group, no coherent style.

I'll just be forever sad they couldn't close the group chapter with the MOTS7 tour as intended. Now they are just longing for that tour, when the public will be so different with all that happened in the fandom since the English trilogy

Yeah, I could definitely see this being one possibility about how things could go for them in CH3. And I agree with the timeline that after their group tour they’ll probably take a sizable break to focus on solo activities/solo tours, I could totally see that. I don’t think they’re ever going to be as active as a group as they were in CH1.

But see, I actually just think they’re way too ambitious and prideful to release anything but the best for their next album. Literally everyone is going to be tuned in and I think they’re going to have something to prove. I just don’t think they’re ready to give in yet, I think of that Busan Run BTS performance for example. I just can’t imagine them coming back, releasing their first album in six years, and putting out something like YTC 💀 Could you imagine the backlash? I think they’ll want to take back whatever records and show their dominance in the industry again, you know? BTS members are known for their work ethic and drive, I just can’t see them agreeing on anything that’s not like… impeccable quality for their first comeback as a group in years. ARMYs didn’t support their ballads the same way they did the English trilogy, or even YTC compared to Run BTS. So if they want to continue upwards they’re going to have to release something exciting. I think they probably know that and want to rise to the occasion? And I think their feelings going into it are going to be very different to what they were feeling during BE and the pandemic or right before their hiatus. I think they’ll have a completely different mindset. I also think they have this… anger/defiance about them still sometimes? Like Namjoon’s letter about how the media talked about their hiatus. I just think they still have something left to prove as a group, idk. I felt differently during FESTA because they were so broken down but I just think watching the way they’ve talked and kind of moved during the rest of CH2 I feel weirdly optimistic about it?

Also the fact that they have solo careers they can use as outlets I think will make it easier for them to compromise and put out a solid group album. Like if Taehyung wants to make an obscure jazzy song he can easily do so as a soloist instead of being so dependent on BTS as his only creative outlet. I think that will make it a bit easier to be cohesive and compromise. I remember yoonmin talking a bit about the future album and how it would be nice to do it themselves, write about their own stories this time, JM said he would do the melodies ect. And I think they’re pretty flexible musically too. I mean, looking at their solo work a lot of them experiment with different sounds and styles so I think they’ll be fine trying out different things as a group again. I just hope that they have a lot more creative control over their next album (let JM and smeraldo garden marching band collab again! I know they’ve got his back and they’re like the regular BTS collaborators).

And honestly just the way they talk about it, idk. Like on Suchwita JM talks about wanting to improve and become more independent to make the team stronger specifically. And they say this

There are a lot of quotes and conversations where they emphasize the group being their priority like this. I mean, doesn’t mean it’ll work out that way? You never know. But they sure say it a lot, and go into detail quite a bit about it too, not just platitudes. I think the only thing that really throws people off is what’s going on with JK, which I do side-eye. But JK was the only member who was about to enlist without even releasing anything. He’s ambitious but I don’t think he has the ambition or desire to try and eclipse the group either (and it absolutely wouldn't be that easy).

Also the members seem to be in a really good place with each other generally speaking. 2seok text 100 times a day? JM knows their phone schedules? The vminkook revival? The way they low-key doted on JM during his birthday with that cute bd hotteok and the mushroom pouch? They seem on pretty good terms to me which I think means something. And working as a group and being able to feed off each others energy is just very appealing, so I don’t think they’re ready to throw in the towel as BTS, not when it's their best chance of continuing to do and accomplish crazy things. Everything with HYBE US and some of what's happening I really, seriously don't like. But like two random articles calling JK Justin Timberlake and a moderate hit song aren't going to be enough to break the group up, nor does it change the reality of the BTS members being seven of the most famous people in the world. Idk, I guess time will tell.

Anyways, yeah, the MOTS tour will forever be a tragedy. I think they do clearly want to make up for it. But I do think it goes beyond that. And the fandom is trash lately, imo, at least in most public spaces online, so here's hoping things clear up a bit in 2025. But BTS is a once in a generation phenomenon. I just really just can't see them going out with a whimper.

OK AU IDEA!

Very rushed I'm just writing this down because I came up with this 30 minutes ago and I have not thought it out very well and I'm too lazy to really double check my writing so probably a lot of grammatical errors in spelling errors or something I don't know lol

We know from one voice line from retribution between Genji and Reyes that talon tried to partner with the shimada clan but sojiro declined as they're view didnt aline.

Well what if he had agreed?

So Genji and Hanzo were raised in talon made to be not only shimada assassins but talon operative assassins so they were somehow even more brutal and inhumane than the shimada clan already was.

How Genji would end up joining OverWatch would be during an OverWatch mission to break into a talon base something goes wrong and one of them (Cass or Angela probably) can't make it back to the dropship or they're trapped or something, and genji knowing if talon finds out what he did they would kill him decides against his better judgment and decides to help the OverWatch agent he has no idea who they are.

And once he gets the agent back to the dropship Reagan's turns to him and offers him a place in OverWatch because he knows fine well talon/the shimada are going to have him killed for betraying them, and genji agrees. And eventually when they get back to base and after Reyes has finished convincing Morrison, once they start filling out his medical paperwork and a whole bunch of other stuff Reyes finds out that Genji is a cyborg.

And instead of becoming a cyborg once he was in OverWatch because his brother tried to kill him like normal, since he and Hanzo were raised in an even more violent and bloodthirsty environment they would often be made by each other and whoever lost would be punished either through extensive additional training, have something taken away that's the basic necessity, and eventually after those punishments weren't working and Genji was still losing to Hanzo, they started to replace parts. (Think like nebula and gamora from guardians of the galaxy) and since doomfist's family owns a cybernetics company it isn't too much of a stretch that they would have someone who could replace parts.

And the reason they were so easy with allowing an ex-talon operative to join OverWatch was because Baptiste had already joined at this point, and was the medic of black watch (moira is already gone at this point, they realized she didn't exactly have normal limits a lot faster). So they offered Genji a role in black watch alongside Cassidy, Baptiste, and sombra (because I want her to be here too). Since Genji already was wearing a mask when they met him, they didn't take it as very much of a surprise when he requested that his new black watch attire be armor and the helmet and you couldn't see his face or even eyes, they willingly obliged especially considering they allowed Cassidy to dress like a cowboy they couldn't exactly say no to the cyborg ninja to allow him to dress like a cyborg ninja, so his armor was made and it looks like his current armor but black watch color palette and instead of his normal hoodie and joggers he has black watch attire and looks more like he's on a black ops strike team. This black watch strike team would train alongside the OverWatch strike team and everyone even a lot of the black watch members at first the longest time thought Genji was an omnic because he never took off his armor in front of people except for Cassidy because they were roommates and Genji didn't sleep in the armor. The other black watch members found out a lot faster than the OverWatch team obviously from being around each other more but none of them ever talked about the fact Genji was actually a human so everyone still just assumed outside of black watch he was an omnic.

Also Genji's cybernetics look more along the lines of sojourns, where you can tell their cybernetics but they look more human than pure robotic. Also since he never went through a Playboy phase he starts off as more cold, aggressive, and quiet. But eventually when he starts warming up to everyone and learns that you can actually be a nice person and not constantly have to worry about someone trying to murder you or having to murder someone else he eventually shows off his more warm bubbly caring side to his personality.

Hanzo in this AU is still a part of talon but he is very internally conflicted because she does care about his brother in a weird way because even though he knows he calls them a lot of pain he still does care about him, and the fact he knows he calls him a lot of pain and creates a lot of inner turmoil in him that he is trying to push down but it's getting near a breaking point. And he is slowly becoming more and more uncertain of Talon's actions, with the final breaking point being when he almost kills his own brother during another OverWatch mission a couple years later and the shock of both realizing that his brother is alive, is on the other side, and that he almost killed him freaks him out to the point that he ends up running away from talon on his own. Not to join OverWatch at least not immediately he goes about by himself for a while trying to figure out reality and get a grip on what things are actually like because he is no idea because both of them had been brainwashed so much to the point they had no concept of what the real world is like.

Also probably kiriko would be a part of talon too as one of the assassins, and is probably the last of the three to leave because she has her mother still tying her there, and the anger of her believing that Genji and Hanzo just abandoned her when that is not what they were doing what was an accidental side product of what they were actually trying to do.

There are a lot of fics about the Justice League finding out about Batman's children via a series of circumstances leading to Nightwing joining the League (usually against Batman's will)

and I LOVE this trope, don't get me wrong, but I'd like to imagine a situation where it doesn't happen like that. I want a situation where Nightwing joins the League, but he and Batman play it off well enough that the JL doesn't put them together. They notice that they work well together, sure, and Batman seems to trust Nightwing easier than the other new members, but no one questions it because Nightwing is good.

And the JL reaches a point where it's been months or even years and they still don't know.

Until Nightwing gets hurt. They've seen him hurt before, but he gets hurt. Bleeding out, affected by fear toxin, whatever, the point is, he's in bad shape. And Nightwing - strong, crooked grin, happy facade - screams. He screams for his dad - a word that he never uses, but that doesn't matter now, because he's scared, and he's hurt, and he just wants to go home.

And nobody knows what to do. Every single League member very quickly realizes that they know nothing about this guy. Everyone wonders about Batman because he seems so mysterious, but Nightwing always seemed so open, and it's only in that moment that they realize they have no actual information on him.

But that only last for a split second, because, of course Batman reacts first. He runs to his side and starts to stabilize his injuries while assuring him in a voice that they've never heard before, a voice that is distinctly not his Batman growl, that he's right there and it's all going to be okay.

And Nightwing... well, he stops calling out for his father. And he doesn't stay in the watchtower infirmary after that. When they ask Batman where he took him, he just tells them home.

Nightwing's back a few months later, and that's when they start asking him if he's really Batman's kid, and he just smiles the same crooked grin and says, Of course. You didn't know?
